"Ang oras ay ginto, at di lahat ng kumikinang ay ginto. He’d know what’s worth investing his time on."
Talents & Hobbies Headcanons for HWS Philippines
EDIT (July 20, 2024): Expanded, with some points rearranged.
☼ ☼ ☼
🏊🏽‍♂️ Sports
Piri is a lot more physically active than he looks, despite his upbeat and simultaneously lax demeanor. He is not dedicated to a strict routine in a way that Germany would. While he is down on the idea of maintaining a fit image for the gram, the sincere answer you will get out of him is a shrug and an "it just makes me feel good!"
Do not call him lazy. He canonically walks his way out of traffic with a smile throughout.
He can drive, but, "no thanks."
Aquatic sports is where he excels. Prussia may have lost to America in a swimming race because of a rogue wave, but the Philippines will easily beat them both. He can traverse through the water (free-diving) as fluidly as he does above it (sailing). He does boxing as a gym routine, but his preferred mode of exercise will always be doing laps in the pool.
He likes to go mountain climbing and will make sure to schedule annual trips dedicated to this alongside other nature-oriented activities. It also doubles as him checking up on local communities that earn their livelihood around and are dedicated to preserving and upkeeping these places.
He loves to dance, whether it be at a fiesta or a nightclub. For implicit reasons, he has to limit his nightlife activities. He also prefers smaller underground clubs over the more upscale venues. He will show up to the latter when invited — and when he can’t think of a believable excuse to decline — but he will admit he favors the raw and queer energy of the former. (Hot take: Indo's dance skills surpass Piri's)
If people have their morning yoga, that will be martial arts for Piri. Eskrima is only one example. The way he can wield a blade (or two) swiftly and gracefully is almost like a dance itself.
He likes to play basketball with the neighborhood kids, as well as when friends are over and he’s in the mood for a game. A part of him wishes he could be taller, but he never liked the idea of looking down on most people. He also plays other games with them, and mentally prays it won't be luksong baka.
☼ ☼ ☼
🎭 Literary & Performing Arts
Piri is a prolific writer and a voracious reader. Hobbies that began as habits; half enforced, half out of determination to improve his capacity for self-expression and expand his own limited worldview. The best prose is reserved for the ones he especially wrote them for. Even his eloquence shows in his narration of witty anecdotes. No one does elegant puns like the Philippines (I mean, his name counts as a pun in itself).
He definitely keeps diaries. That certainly started out as a means of improving his writing ability. He inserts additional sketches of other details that occurred during his day. Piri also enjoys doing sketching en plein air and keeps a sketchpad with him for those lakwatsa* days. More often than not, he draws on the adjacent page a previous iteration of the scenery from memory.
*A lot of times it’s used to describe kids that skipped school because they’d rather “wander around;” any real connection to la cuacha I don’t know, but it’s hilarious
Musically inclined since day one, Piri’s voice remains his best instrument. Second best is the acoustic guitar (he can play electric). In my most honest opinion, if Austria is the better instrumentalist, then the Philippines is the better singer. While doing household chores or grinding through clerical work, he can be found humming existing songs or invented rhymes, or whistling tunes.
He writes songs, but never shows them, nor has he ever publicly released recordings. He may or may not have ghostwritten songs. Not that he will ever admit it.
Piri only accepts two forms of drama: teleserye plots, and the art of theater. A natural storyteller with a delightfully vibrant charisma makes for a memorable actor. Sarsuwelas and bodabil shows are where his show-and-tell (or rather, show-and-sing) skills truly shine. His frequent attendances of slam poetry gatherings in the present day is an extension of his peak days of balagtasan and tula-dula performances. If you’re very lucky, you might even catch him in one of those underground rap battles, eloquently destroying his opponents.
☼ ☼ ☼
📷 Visual Arts
Piri loves taking polaroid selfies and candid portrait shots with film. During his travels, he also indulges in landscape and wildlife photography. The wave of relief that comes after spotting a creature he hasn’t seen in years or decades (or centuries even) is the much-needed reassurance that not all is truly lost.
On the surface level, he appears to be that kind of Instagram guy who documents everything. The photos are nice, yet they also have a mundane and surprisingly casual tone to them.
There are artfully-framed photographs of historical/cultural sites that you didn’t realize were historical/cultural sites had it not been for the accompanying deeply nostalgic narrations.
There are humorous shots at familiar historical/cultural sites and wacky selfies with statues, combined with casual banter in the form of comical remarks ("Just revolutionary vibes!") or a story of how he had to escort a drunk Rizal and his lady back to the hotel (ask him in the comments "which one?" and the response you get is, "The lady or the hotel?").
There are alluring closeups of flora & fauna joined by an unnatural level of excitement ("YAAAAASS REYNA BLOOM" he writes on an endangered orchid species).
Oddly enough, there is neither photo nor video documentation of fiestas. Instead, you get selfies of Piri dressed up and announcing he is all geared up for the occasion. In fairness, he would have been completely absorbed in the festivities. It has a way of compelling you to attend one someday…
Neither are there photos of all the famed tourist posts. Instead, you get snaps of local businesses in the vicinity (hotels, marketplaces, eateries, etc.) accompanied by affable accounts of the people manning them all.
And some photos seem so out of place with the overall feed, but you come out enamored by the subject thanks to the accompanying poetry.
Piri was a hyperactive kid when he was still small (if not necessarily young). The older personifications learned quickly that if he was not pacified by a compelling tale, the only other hope was to keep him preoccupied with handicrafts.
Woodwork is his most favored, stemming from his days under the Spanish Empire when he was heavily tasked with doing carpentry ("Where did you think I got my biceps from?"). To the surprise of many, Piri is unintimidated by the tools and the labor. Between him and Indo, it is Piri who is the token handyman.
Rest assured, the amount of love he’s poured into what he makes will shine through the outstanding quality and attention to detail. He ends up saving on purchasing gifts for friends by making them instead.
☼ ☼ ☼
🍲Culinary Arts & Gardening
As long as you are a guest in his home, he will insist on home-cooked meals, partly as escapism from his usual subsistence on meals that are smaller, cheaper, and easier to prep.
As a sidenote (or should I say, side dish?), Piri and Indo are the biggest eaters within the SEAnigang (in more ways than one, too). They both have a high metabolism. The only difference is that Indo got more land muscle mass. Avoid talk on cuisine superiority. Just don’t.
Piri is ashamed to admit this but he does not actually eat much. He adapted to surviving on less for such a long time that he no longer gave a second thought as to why he would exude so much excitement over food. Leaving excess food waste also abhors him.
#plantito (but Indo is the better gardener). Home gardening also helps him save on food groceries.
Piri knows the ways of farming and can identify all that flora & fauna, and at the same time, he lived with that mindset of just letting nature be to handle its own course for so long. Not that he has a bad green thumb, rather he is embarrassed to admit it's not as great as he likes it to be. Being chained down in the metro all the time just to keep people in check diminished his touch, and when he finally has time to go out and sees how much the landscape has changed (and in such a short amount of time), it makes him desperate to replicate and rehabilitate what’s been lost.
☼ ☼ ☼
🤳🏽 Social Life
When Piri feels like socializing, but either his usual options are preoccupied or there is no one in particular that he wants to hit up a chat with, he will step outside for that. Aside from checking in on how the youth are doing, he also joins the old men that have seen it all (so they say) in their drinks and games of cards or chess. He enjoys catching up on chika with the titas by the sari-sari store. There have been times where he runs out for a quick purchase without donning a shirt. He is completely obvious to the fact that it excites the titas every time.
Sometimes he hangs out in a bar or a coffee shop and just immerses himself in the atmosphere and watches the people around him. He also likes to explore indie bazaars, public markets, antique shops, and ukay-ukays.
Piri would have thrived in the late 2000s phase of online blogging with lengthier written posts. While he adapted just fine with the current trend of more scrupulously curated feeds, he is wholeheartedly more keen on getting readers and followers to be invested in the stories he has to share. Piri is the type to care a great deal about getting the message out.
And as someone who suffered severe limitations on outside communication for so long and for so many times, Piri gravitated towards social media very easily and is unafraid of using it to stay in touch with loved ones, reach out to people, and keep updated on what goes on out.
Piri definitely has a TikTok, where he brings out his guitar and films himself making impromptu songs about practically anything. Sometimes he literally sings about how his day went and it's still so mundane but the tune's so catchy.
Does he have a finsta? Yes.
Does he have a Twitter account? Undoubtedly.
Does he have a Facebook account? Unfortunately.
Does he have a YouTube account? Absolutely.
The vlogs feature activities with a friend, the jowa, or the entire barkada. All of them are as equally casual and humorous as his Instagram feed. It’s akin to an internet variety show of all sorts of kabobohan and sabaw with none other than the SEAnigang. Haha did you SEA all those puns from me?
There are videos of the group hanging out at wherever, be it public parks, theme parks, food parks, undisturbed beaches, or jam-packed discos.
There are videos of silly photoshoots, karaoke contests (where Piri always wins), cooking/baking contests, makeup sessions, and horror film viewings (where Indo always screams).
There are also videos of the gang playing together: outdoor childhood games, Q&A games, dare games, drinking games, board games, card games, Twister, maybe an attempt at a TTRPG session, and yes, multiplayer video games. (Tip: Piri will play video games. Only if you invite him, and it is recommended that you do not.)
While he most appreciates how communication with his dearest friends an ocean or two away has been made easier, faster, and cheaper, he is quick to ground himself back to reality. His so-called PR work is but an extension of the full picture that is the Philippines.
Nonetheless, every captured moment serves as a treasured reminder of what truly matters to him.

THE TIMELINE
THE APPLE AND THE TREE, 2000 Born with a golden spoon in his mouth, it was no surprise that the JunWei had media flocking over him with every breath he made. As the only child of prominent businesswoman Sloane Tan and senator Aquillino Xuē, he was built to be perfected. Growing up, JunWei was quite lonely despite never being alone. At a young age, he first mastered how to be great. Said to be a spitting image of his mother, he knew when to speak and how to act, as if his every move is calculated. Despite his intimidating demeanor, he's certainly got a lot of words to let out from the corners of his mind.
FILM ROLLS, 2013 JunWei was not that close with his dad, his busy schedule refrained him from being home with them much. Growing up, it was his mother and grandparents who were mostly present. Funny enough, Aquillino managed to find time every time the child had an awarding. For the media? Probably. But JunWei can settle for the little attention he gave. When JunWei reached 7th grade, he decided to fly back to the Philippines with his grandparents. After weeks of disagreeing, his mother Sloane finally said yes. A box of film rolls neatly sitting on his bed, a letter changed his life's trajectory since then.
THE DIPLOMAT AND HIS LIGHTNING, 2018 Settling in a foreign country, Junwei wanted to fit in. Verzaie Aliscaint, he thought for his English name. As if it was imprinted within, he never settled for mediocracy. He knew what he wanted and what he deserved. Award after award, there was no doubt that Scaint graduated at the top of his class. Everyone knew his name, and he liked it that way. Came college and a trip back to Chengdu, he was still not free from the shackles of their family's line of career. Over dinner, it was agreed that he'll be taking up diplomacy, and if he wants, he'll enter politics. He laughed it off, not because it was funny, but because he knew he had no other choice.
HE'S AN ICON, 2018 Scaint went on to pursue diplomacy. His sharp tongue and careful words accompanied him through college. President of the student council, and a member of a school band, his fame grew little by little. Starting as an underground SoundCloud artist, the man went by "RES4INTS" as a stage name. Casually releasing his own compositions and mixtapes every now and then, it came to an eventual stop when Scaint was introduced to the fashion industry by his best friend.
A SAINT IS IMMACULATE, 2021 After finishing his degree, Scaint settled in his own home in Makati, Philippines. Enjoying life after his graduation, he decided to immerse himself more in the fashion industry. Casually modeling for brands big or small, Scaint earned the title 'IT Boy'. But one field wasn't enough, the man eventually ventured to film. Taking part in short films at first, he widened his horizons as he took on bigger projects. From the stage to runways to big screens. The man built his name, from his golden surname to his very own spotlight, Scaint paved his own way.
AN ANGEL'S RHYTHM, 2024 The IT Boy's name continued to rack up trending topics. Built relationships over the years made it possible for Scaint to reach his dream. Going back to his roots, he introduced a side he'll never mask. Signing as ARCANE'S Rhythm Guitarist Loki, more opportunities presented themselves to the man as he merged music, fashion, and film into one. Though after a few months with the band, Scaint decided to part ways and sign under PRISM Labels—further exploring his budding career as a soloist. From one country to another, there was no doubt that Scaint became a global icon. With some people referring to him as an angel, he'd gladly reply with a warm smile as he extravagantly treads through life.

DANCE: Tiesto & Tears For Fears - “Rule The World”
Tumblr media
Tiësto teams up with Tears for Fears, NIIKO X SWAE and GUDFELLA to release new blistering single “Rule the World (Everybody)” out today via Thrive Music/Capitol Records. Listen HERE. As the title and famed collaborators suggest, the track is a reimagining of Tears For Fears' 1985 classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” that first exploded when an unofficial dance version was uploaded to SoundCloud. Tiësto then came on board, turning the seminal synth-pop anthem into a break-neck banger. The unofficial version of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” is already a viral sensation, sound tracking more than 100K TikTok creates and Instagram reels including ones by ESPN, FC Barcelona, Disney, Aston Martin, Dairy Queen, Beyond Meat, and more. “Welcome to your life, there's no turning back,” Tears for Fears frontman Curt Smith sings in his signature tone over propulsive percussion and familiar chords. Adding at the slow-building chorus, “Acting on your best behavior, turn your back on Mother Nature — everybody wants to rule the world.”What follows is a sonic eruption of dizzying synths that is sure to pack dancefloors for months and be a highlight of the collaborating artists upcoming live dates. “The original track is one of my favorites,” says Tiësto, “so when I heard the new dance take on the song, I knew I wanted to collaborate on it with the other artists for a version that was special for my own live performances. The track goes crazy, live... I’m so happy it’s officially out for fans!” “Rule the World (Everybody)” follows the release of Tiësto’s album Drive in the spring. The Grammy® Award-winning, platinum-certified, global hitmaker has made a name for himself bringing infectious underground energy to electronic music masses. Tiësto has played the mainstage of every major international dance music festival and created the template for Las Vegas DJ residencies. Meanwhile, he’s sold more than 36 million albums, clocked six Billboard Hot 100 hits, and aggregated an incredible 11+ billion worldwide streams. Now, with “Rule the World (Everybody),” Tiësto elevates a beloved — and currently viral — track, lending it a club sound, and a new appeal for a whole new generation of fans. While Tiësto's achievements are legendary, his collaborators are already making waves in the dance music world. LA-based duo NIIKO X SWAE landed a streaming hit in 2022 when they teamed up with Nicky Romerofor "Easy," which found its way onto 14 New Music Friday playlists as well as the influential Happy Beats, Dance Party, and DanceXL playlists. The followed that up with Deorro linkup "Help Me" featuring Kiiara and a string of recent singles including "Fast Forward" and "Go Back." GUDFELLA — aka Philippines-born, San Diego-raised Kyle Domingo — has been churning out bangers since unleashing "What Kinda Love" in 2019. Since then, the rising producer has released a series of solo records ("Told You," "She Knows," and "Language") as well as hit collaborations ("Yours" featuring Tsu Nami and the Lexi Shanley-voiced "Highroller") and remixes (Angrybaby's"HOLD YOU" and Thulani & Tinashe's "Delilah"). Transform your space with the captivating beauty of a dry floor fountain, also known as floor outdoor fountains, dry deck fountains, or floor water fountains.
A dry floor fountain is different from the normal fountain that is installed on a water pond because dry fountains are installed underground, which means that the nozzles and lights are set under the mesh cover.
When spraying water, the sprayed water column is sprayed out through the pavement holes such as the cover plate or granite, so as to achieve the effect of not occupying the leisure space and viewing the fountain.
Himalaya Music Fountain is one of the largest professional fountain manufacturers in Central China, specialized in music fountain design, production, installation and maintenance. Our team has made fountains in more than 30 countries such as Dubai, Mexico, Philippines, Vietnam, Iran, Morocco and India etc., highly praised by our customers. We offer various fountain products including nozzles, low-voltage underwater RGB LED lamps, music fountains, programmable fountains and fountain control products etc, contract to build large-scale music fountains, water screen projection and laser show, provide one-stop solutions of musical fountain. Main products all passed the national authoritative department inspection, most of them won the national patents. Since the establishment, Himalaya Music Fountain has built hundreds of fountain projects in domestic and overseas market, greatly appreciated in South America, Middle East and Southeast Asia area covering over 30 countries. Where do I start? AAAA I have lots of plans this year that I listed at the start of this year and I'm steadily and slowly doing my best to complete all of them! So this is like a diary post just so I can compose myself and not get too overwhelmed by all the things I wanna do.
You can keep reading on below if you're interested with my life, but this is mostly just me taking notes since I don't vlog or keep a diary with me anymore haha.
Internet Friends
This year went by so fast but I know that I also grew a lot as a person and I've met a lot of amazing people that contributed to this year. I met 2 actual friends that I found on Reddit (r/phR4Friends to be exact). Kyle invites me to all these gigs around my city and Manila from time to time and I realize that this is the kind of stuff that I've been missing out on for the past few years. Hazel is one of the best girls I've ever met and she's up for anything and even shared with me about losing my 3 year old phone! I went to La Union with her, her friends, twitter friends, and few a college acquaintances that I ended up being friends with also.
Also met a lot of new people by joining new local discord servers and it made my days less boring. It got me distracted with my plans on studying tho so I'm trying to limit my interactions and just meet up with them in real life tho. But yeah, I"m very thankful for all of them and they all treat me so nicely.
Lost my Phone
Went clubbing with Hazel earlier this year and ended up losing my phone and I think 2 years worth of photos! I was soooo sad and ended up using what Iearned working in starbucks last year to buy a secondhand iPhone 13 Pro. I have a love/hate relationship with the camera but I'm slowly getting used to it.
Concert and Gigs
Last December, I saw Keshi and this May, I saw the 1975 for the first time ever since their first show here in the Philippines last 2013. I enjoyed watching them live so much. In between these concerts, I went to a lot of local and out of town gigs and realized there were a lot of local underrated/underground music that I haven't discovered yet
Vespa Primavera 150
I saved up like crazy so I can buy myself a scooter, a Vespa to be exact. I was gonna go for the White Primavera 150 but someone in a local band told me that it was too common so he bought a relax green one and it got me thinking so that's what I'm gonna go for. I've been going back and fourth to the Vespa Shop here in Baguio but it's still not available until now. It's okay tho, I'm still in the process of fixing my driver's license. Tomorrow, I'll go and get my student's permit in Porta Vaga.
The Idea of Living on my Own
I saw a loft apartment the other day and I'm going to check out the actual thing tomorrow morning. It got me thinking of starting to live on my own and it fills my tummy with butterflies just thinking about how I'm gonna decorate it to make it feel like my home. I shouldn't be too excited because I'm not yet sure whether I'll actually get it or some other people are going to get it before me. But if I don't get the apartment, I'm already decided that I should move out this year, I'm about to turn 26!
Crochet
I started crocheting late last year but I didn't get to continue practicing due to working 2 jobs and dating someone at the same time but this year, I gained a lot of time because I resigned and the relationship died lmao. I've been working on a life size BMO stuffed toyfor the past 3 months, I think? I'm about to finish it this week, I think! After this, I'll continue making tops like what I originally planned.
Half Dyed Hair
I know I told myself multiple times that I'm going to leave my hair alone and and start growing it out but I bleached and dyed it again this year. Ended up regretting it and had lots of hairfalls :( This will be the last time I swear.
Lost my Tita to Cancer
It came to a shock that my tito asked me to come to Manila asap because my aunt was already in her death bed. I spent a week staying by her side and crying. I never told her that I loved her even when she was literally dying because those words can't come out of my mouth but I know I did. She took care of me for 10 whole years and I always kept my feelings to myself because our relationship wasn't perfect but I'm thanful everyday because I wouldn't be the person I am today if she never took me in when my parents gave me and my brother away. She's in a better place now and I've already forgiven al the wrongs she's done to me.
We have 6 months left until the year is over, a lot of things can still happen and I'm excited what else is in store for 2023. Thank you for reading! :)

Before the end of AAPI Heritage Month I wanted to share the mix I did for Tadhana hosted by @telesforo__. It’s called “Kababayan” & featured Filipino artists ranging from FilAm pop stars to Filipinos at the cutting edge of underground club music. As part of the diaspora growing up in Oklahoma I’ve felt a sense of disconnect, but as I’ve learned about pre-colonial Filipino practices and beliefs I’ve found a longstanding culture that resonates through me. I’m going to the Philippines in August for the first time in over 10 years and can’t wait to reconnect to my family and the islands as an adult. Seeing moments like the @manilacommunityradio Boiler Room celebrating budots is incredibly inspiring and sharing the music is my attempt to do a small part of a bigger practice of spreading the culture. Thematically my mixes this month tap into that in different ways, with my set at Elsewhere focusing on grassroots subgenres from around the world. My next tripreport mix is called “grassroots” and I’ll be playing it live on the @8ballradio airwaves tonight at 9pm ET. You can find them all on my SoundCloud.

Filipino Dream-pop and Shoegaze Bands in the Dark
Tumblr media
Dream-pop and Shoegaze are subgenres of alternative rock, internationally, the pioneers are from UK; Cocteau Twins and Slowdive. Their music is known for their synth sounds and reverberated guitars which makes their music sound so dreamy, melancholic, and to some it is even described as "nostalgic". It is a very powerful new genre that captivates people in the music scenes these days.
It is often said that these genres are an acquired taste, these genres are like the black coffees in the field of music. It will sound like jazz but heavier with fuzzes and reverb almost like drowning you in them and yet the audience feel so alive. The pioneers in these genres in the Philippines are Megumi Acorda (Dream-pop) 2018, Cinema Lumiere (Dream-pop) 2020, Bedtime Television (Dream-pop) 2018, Ozzga (Shoegaze) 2018, Polar Lows (Shoegaze) 2019, & Eggboy (Shoegaze) 1998. These bands bloom underground up until now but these bands deserve more ears to swarm into. It is about time that their music gets heard on concert grounds.
If you want to witness the strange effect of these new genres, places to visit and support are: Mows (Quezon City), Saguijo (Makati), 70's & Bistro (Quezon City). Currently, there are a lot of young collectives keeping the scene alive like 'The Flying Lugaw', 'United Cassettes' and 'Genjitsu Stargazing Society'. From my experience, traveling from Naga to Manila to listen to their music was all worth it, you would get shocked at how friendly the musicians are and how good they are at performing. When I heard Megumi Acorda play their songs, despite the music being melancholic, the crowd was swaying in sync and you would feel so heavy and good at the same time just listening. The songs they composed are mastered and produced by either themselves or these young collectives which makes it even more amazing; such talents should be hit with spotlight.
Here are my top 5 Dream-pop and Shoegaze favorites:
If They Come // Megumi Acorda Dreamcatcher // Cinéma Lumière Shiver // Ozzga Never Stayed Too Long // Polar Lows Ouija Bored // Bedtime Television
All these songs are available on Spotify and BandCamp.

My Experience in FASA Through Cryptic Song Lyrics <3 || Angeli Fandiño, FASA'S 2022 - 2023 Co-Social Chair
“Feels like we’ve been through war together. Feels like you’ve been right here forever. But I don’t even know you at all.” - I Don’t Know You At All, Lizzy McAlpine
Tumblr media
bucket hat baby!
Before my college career, I genuinely had no concept of what it meant to be Filipino. I grew up thinking that being Filipino was just a fact of life—it wasn’t my identity. I only knew some Filipino dishes, I had only been to the Philippines twice in my lifetime, and (surprise surprise) I couldn’t speak Tagalog. If you asked me who I was while I was still in high school, I would’ve responded with adjectives like athletic, musical, funny, or stubborn. My Filipino culture was always a part of me subconsciously, but it was never an aspect of my personality that I found worthy of conversation with people outside of my immediate family. It was much easier to acknowledge my Filipino heritage through jokes about the brownness of my skin or by contributing to my classmates’ ill comments on Asian stereotypes. I often look back at the person I was throughout my childhood and wish that I hadn’t been so indifferent to learning about my culture, but that’s why I am now so grateful that FASA has given me this opportunity to explore the part of identity that I had once suppressed for so long.
“You gave me a meaning to my life, yes, I’ve gone beyond existing. And it all began when I met you.” - When I Met You, APO Hiking Society
Tumblr media
“OMG LOOK, it’s Greenwood—the super cool, underground but upcoming Filipino American cover band at U of M that performs a wide range of genres from OPM to R&B and indie rock!!!” – real anonymous gen mem
When I first joined FASA, I’ll admit that I originally felt obligated to because of how involved my older sister Bea was. I already knew a majority of Bea’s friends, so joining FASA was more of a “why not?” situation than it was a “how could I pass this up?” opportunity. My thinking quickly shifted though at Fall Mass Meeting last year. I vividly remember the boba push with my small group after the event and traversing as a large Filipino clan from Rackham to Ding Tea. I think this was honestly one of the first times in my life that I had hung out with Asian people outside of my family. It sounds soo cliche, but it was on that walk that I started to feel different about my Fil-Am identity. I remember how welcoming and conversational everyone was and how eager we all were to learn each other's names. Never had I ever thought that I could find a community so fast, let alone in a demographic of people that I once wanted nothing to do with. From that day on, I involved myself in every FASA event that my busy schedule would allow, and I’ve made friendships here that I know will last a lifetime.
“This weight’s too much alone. Some days I can’t hold it at all; you take it on for me. When tomorrow’s too much, I’ll carry it all, I got you.” - I Got You, Jack Johnson

my lovely e-board family <3
Confession time! Even though I was elected for Social Chair this year, I actually only went to a grand total of 2 out of the 7 social events as a freshman (half of Fall Mass Meeting, Fall FAM/Lin Reveal, and [not even] half of FAM Games). This was quite frustrating because almost all of the major events I missed were due to scheduling conflicts or prior commitments. I thought that I was “falling behind” in making friends in FASA because I had been so used to that high school mindset of “establish a friend group and stick to it.” However, I could not have been more naive. I eventually learned that although FASA can look like a large or intimidating community at a glance, it quickly becomes family. FASA has taught me that anyone and everyone is welcome here, whether you are Filipino by blood or Filipino by love (#FACT2022).
This is why I wanted to run for Social Chair last year (aside from the fact that Amanda had been planting seeds since Day 1 and I’m an easily convincible person); I wanted to cater towards the members of FASA who, maybe like me, also had packed schedules and could only attend a small handful of social events. With every event I put on, I wanted to create an environment where new faces would feel safe to be themselves and eventually call FASA home. Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to attempt any of this vision without this incredible board and especially the following people…
“Cause we’re okay, we’re fine. Baby I’m here to stop your crying… Adding up the total of a love that’s true, multiply life by the power of two.” - Power of Two, Indigo Girls
Tumblr media
Bea (left), appearing age: 14; Angeli (right), appearing age: older?
(Ate) Bea: Thank you for introducing me to this home away from home. Thank you for letting me have the same friends as you and follow you around at FASA events whenever I would get anxious. I’ve definitely said a whole Senior Farewell speech about how much you mean to me, so you can refer to that again if you want to be reminded of more warm n fuzzies 🥱. But honestly, in high school, I wish I had a better appreciation for what it meant that you were a single Performance Chair who choreographed PCN and choreographed/competed in Battle, and the fact that you were Co-President during an entirely virtual school year is nothing to gloss over either. I might be a little late to the game, but I’m very proud and impressed of all that you accomplished within FASA. Thank you for leading by example of how to embrace my Fil-Am self, and I’m so glad we could share this community together.

Me and Mandy at the intern event last year <3
Amanda: I’ll never forget how you recruited me to FASA before I even set foot on campus as a freshman. We were at Lucas’ grad party over the summer, we were standing by the dunk tank, and the conversation went something like this…
Amanda: Hey! Are you Bea’s sister? I’m Amanda, Sam’s cousin!
Me: Oh yes I am! Hi, nice to meet you!
Amanda: I’m the social chair. You should join FASA.
Me: ..Okay.
FAST FORWARD >> It’s a little bit over a year ago today, and the scene is set in one of the union basement booths (duh)...
Amanda: Hey are you running for board?
Me: Uhhh maybe, I’m not sure yet. I was thinking about it.
Amanda: You should run for social chair.
Me: Okay.
If you had not planted these seeds, I would not be here! You’ve been a major support system to me in FASA since, quite literally, Day 0. I know I can always count on you for honest advice and just a shoulder to lean on. Thank you for showing Andrew and I the ropes of being socials and never getting (visibly) annoyed at our many questions or concerns. I simply could not have pictured my FASA experience, let alone my time as social, without you <3. See you at the next lin hang! Haha get it cuz–
Alyssa and JC: Hey slays. I just wanted to pop in here and say that I think we finally squashed the beef this year (#walangbeef). This “socials vs culturals” war has gone on long enough, and I thank you guys for constantly being an open ear and available resource in all the events Andrew and I put on this year. Andrew and I might’ve grumbled at first at the idea of implementing elements of culture into every social event, but you helped us find ways to make it fun and intentional. I’m constantly amazed at the duo you guys are, as real recognizes real 🤝. I have really enjoyed working with you guys on board this year, and I am so proud of the work we accomplished together. Cheers to no more beef ❌🥩🥂
Tumblr media
Sophia Grace Samson: you are so wrong for that angelisa pic. even though you were not too kind to me in your own testimonial, i’ve decided to turn the other cheek (heh) and write you a nice poem anyway. ahem…
Roses are red 🌹,
Violets are blue 🫐,
To my favorite nickels 🪙 ,
I’m so glad I met you 🥰
here’s to more waffle house adventures, nickel debriefs, and trips to urgent care!

“Caught you cryin’ cuz you be jealous. Don’t be whinin’ if you wanna be us 😎” - [REDACTED], Andreli
Tumblr media
your friendly neighborhood social chairs, Andreli 🕷️🕸️
Andrew: Story time! For anyone who doesn’t know, the first time Andrew and I met was not a positive experience (yes I am going to expose the both of us here). Andrew and I had dm’d a bit over the summer because Bea and Mango (hi mom, hi dad) suggested we become friends going into the school year to have a familiar face on campus. After maybe a couple weeks of chatting, I kinda ghosted Andrew (oops) and we didn’t end up meeting until the first day of Tagalog. Ate Irene had asked everyone why we all wanted to learn Filipino, and Andrew answered with, “I’m tired of my parents talking about me behind my back.” Everyone laughed, but apparently he looked over at me and I had a “scary,” unamused, dead expression. I was planning on introducing myself after class, but he immediately zipped out of the room and I thought to myself, “wow rude,” just to find out later that it was because he was scared of me! But wowow, fast-forward 19 months later, and here we are…
Mannn, you already know that I couldn’t have done this job with anybody else. There are so many little traditions that I’m going to miss as co’s: post-meeting jam sessions, CAPS massage chairs, our outro + tagline, and just sitting for hours in the Union Panera bouncing off ideas until our brains are completely fried. Even though we always joke we’re the exact same person, I’ve learned a lot from you this year. You taught me how to never doubt myself and always give 110% into whatever I care about. You also taught me that although we are both perfectionists, nothing is ever going to go according to the original plan. We had to be alert yet composed at all times, which was never an easy task. As tiring of a position as Social Chair is, I never felt like either one of us settled with an event. We held each other accountable while understanding how to take space when needed. All of the ambitious and elaborate events we’ve pulled off continue to amaze me and make me proud of our tenure together. From planning a whole scavenger hunt and escape room to forming a real band with Greenwood (shoutout to Catrina, our third og member), I’m really amazed at the team we’ve become. Thanks for always keeping my ego in check, for becoming one of my best friends, and for being the best co I could ask for. Action items: GenAPA, be mush, and finish writing our album!
To the future Social Chairs: Simply put, this position and your time on board is whatever you make it to be. The biggest piece of advice I have for you is to never forget your “why”-- why did you run for social chair, what is the impact you want to leave on this community, and how are you going to do so? It’s easy to think that as a social chair, you have to constantly go above and beyond, always innovating and creating until you burn yourself out. Something I wish I knew at the beginning of the year was that although it can be fun to constantly invent new ideas, FASA can always use more laidback, chill events too. Remember, you facilitate da vibes. It doesn’t always have to be “go big or go home.” Just be there for your general members and they’ll see that you care <3. Be alert, don’t be too prideful to ask for help, pivot on the fly, and trust in your co. I’m very excited to see what you guys accomplish next year, and I will happily be here for support if you ever need anything!
Tumblr media
awww yeahhhh!!
To FASA: A lot of other people joke that my only personality trait nowadays is being Filipino, but I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for being the community that has taught me how to be my most honest and unapologetic self. You’ve been responsible for the most meaningful aspects of my college experience thus far, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. It’s been a pleasure being your Social Chair this year, and I’ll see you around!
Signing off for now, your friendly neighborhood Social Chair,
Angeli <3

Attractions on Coron Island, the Philippines Visit
In writing this responsible tourism guide to alternative things to do in Coron Island Philippines I focus on activities other than organized tours. The truth is to visit Coron, the most beautiful is the island hopping tour where you can see Twin Lagoon or Kayangan Lake. However, not only Coron Island, Busuanga Island (along with Coron town) is also worth exploring. You can visit some interesting places on the Coron Island Philippines, the best beaches without a boat, support the local community and learn about the life of the local people. If you're not a big fan of tours and want to discover the island on your own, this responsible guide to Korona (Busuanga) is definitely for you.
Alternative things to do in Coron Island
Being a responsible tourist on Coron Island Philippines is quite easy. It doesn't take much effort to find alternatives, support local communities and choose responsible activities. What's more, you'll discover spots off the beaten path of Corona. For example, you can stay in tribal villages, remote white sand beaches, in habited islands and soak in unique hot springs. I will show you how to manage alternative things in Coron without a tour agency.
See houses on stilts
Looking for more of a local experiences? Look inside the wooden house on the water's edge to see how locals live. Coron Town is popular with tourists, but if you just walk along the coast, you'll see many houses built on stilts and floating in the water. The Coron Island Philippines and the water is black and stinky. There are still some of them without canalisation. It was thrilling to see such a straightforward house. Coron town has a lot of houses on stilts, and you can walk along the sea.
Visit Maquinit Hot Springs
Hot spring is one of the major attractions of Coron Island Philippines. Entrance fee is 150 pesos. You can get there by walking 40 minutes from Coron town Maquinit is one of the world's couple of saltwater underground aquifers. Nearby, there are some nice beaches, called Beach and Cabo Beach.
Sunset at Tapias Hill
On the last day of my stay in Coron, I climbed Tapias Hill with the cross and big sign "Coron" on top. Apparently, it is the second highest peak in Coron Island Philippines. The panoramic view of the surrounding islands, Coron Port from above and the stunning colors made this sunset one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Recommend climbing over 700 steps, because it's worth it!
Try the local food
When I travel, I try to support the local community. I'm not interested in eating western food in Asia and avoiding touristy restaurants. I quickly noticed that the fancy, fancy restaurants catered to tourists and the usual stands catered to locals. You can recognize it by looking at the silverware standing in front of the shop. Some of them only carry food, some have tables and chairs. The prices are very low, around 70 pesos per meal and the food is homemade and healthy. My favorite tries at Coron were the Jack Fruit Curry with Dried Fish and the Peanut Butter Curry with Spinach. Apart from these, you will find various street food options, the most popular of which is barbeque on sticks. Don't hesitate to open the lid of any container walking around the street, it's a natural thing to check what's there.Pot with Filipino food.
Becoming a responsible tourist
Our daily decisions matter when traveling in terms of carbon, waste and many other aspects. Each step makes us more ethical consumers and more responsible travelers with a more sustainable impact. It is an investment in the future, a better future for all of our planet and us.
Time travel bee
Bee is a nature lover and tea addict. Loves the concept of slow living and responsible travel, constantly striving to improve to be more eco-friendly. Appreciates old culture and traditions, likes to mingle with locals, listen to ethnic music as well as taste regional food and drinks. Her favorite spots while traveling are the family home and the street market.

January 7, 2023
The 7th Day of 2023
-Dear God, dear God, dear God
I’m sat upon the kitchen bench with my back against the wall, I’m not a child anymore but there’s something comforting about sitting as if I am. This year hasn’t begun how I anticipated it would. I’m feeling a whole lot and very little at the same time. Today grocery shopping didn’t have its usual therapeutic appeal and even though I found peace in cooking I thought writing might help process things. So as “Soft Sounds from Another Planet” by Japanese Breakfast echoes through the kitchen I’ll reflect. Somehow lately every year has started the same, "Vulnicura" by Björk.
Love will keep us safe from death.
I saw Abby this week, we got all dressed up just to sit in a carpark and eat takeout. Typical. I’m worried about Taliah, like me she hurts herself in helping others. I’m trying my best to be here for her but a voice in my head assures me I’m not good enough at this. I showed her Sisyphus 55’s newest video “do you want to be loved or do you want to be yourself?” Based on the title, I wasn’t sure this video would mean a whole lot to me, but it really resonated. The parts on Gabor Maté’s take on Type C Personalities and how they’re fabricated in childhood especially stuck with me. I’ve been thinking about Harrison again, this isn’t inherently bad, but I had hoped my feelings for him would subside in the new year. I guess I should’ve known that wouldn’t be the case. Time isn’t real and I’m not capable of forgetting my feelings at the moment. I’m left hung up like my clothes in the wind that ended up in the dirt.
I also saw Eric this week. I find him sweet, intuitive and inquisitive. These are all traits I admire, and at any other point in my life, I’d be absolutely head over heels for him. I suppose taking things slow for once could be a positive thing. I really do like him but I hope to like him some more soon. Anyways, we got dinner and were interviewed on the street. We walked and we sat in a park too. Up until now, we’ve been fairly platonic though our closeness this time is memorable. At some point we swapped jackets and at another, we held each other in the middle of the square for the whole world to see. He keeps on telling me I have a humanitarian superpower within, I’m not quite sure what he means by this but so far he’s done well reading me. Speaking of guys I should be in love with by now, Julian texted me. He hadn’t replied to me because his Australian number is no longer in service. He says he has stories to tell me and that he’s not enjoying Indonesia too much at the moment. I weirdly, really look forward to seeing him again in February, I tend to listen to his stories like they’re a book. Also, I imagine solid company, sex and weed will do wonders for me.
I should really read a book this month. I’ve been listening to “BURN TO ASHES” by Backxwash at nauseam again. It’s really become one of my favourite songs of all time. Verse 2 always hits me like it’s a freight train. I had the honour of seeing Remi Wolf perform at The Forum, on the day of I hadn’t eaten so I was in pain but it all went away once she stepped on stage. She is very easily one of the most excitable and talented performers I’ve witnessed in person. At the show, I met a mysterious character whose name I can’t recall at the moment. She’s here from the Philippines, visiting her sister. I found her aura to be interesting. That night I got off the train and danced the whole way home. Mum was asleep but I kissed her on the forehead goodnight and continued dancing as I got ready for bed. Kobe watched on confused. I felt so happy in that moment. Afterwards, I didn’t sleep, Alex and I played PlayStation until 6 in the morning. Some things never change.
I also got to see Shygirl this week. It was fucking incredible. During “Coochie (a bedtime story)” the crowd transcended sound itself we were so loud. I really love music venues that are underground, there’s no reception so it allows everybody to be there and nowhere else. Despite how important this night was to me, it didn’t come without the lingering of darker feelings. I went alone but really wanted to make friends there. I know it’s trivial but as well as having the desire to meet people I felt superbly introverted too, I wanted to make friends but not to be the one to initiate it. I left without any new friends. Oh, to be approachable. In the midst of the show I was on top of the world but my surroundings soon got the best of me. Post gig I walked along the river solemnly as if I was in a shitty movie. Drunk people make me dearly uncomfortable. For me, queer-dominated spaces seem to only incite indescribable loneliness. I hate that this happens, I guess I feel as if amongst these people I should fit in but I always seem to be just as out of place as ever. If I don’t belong in the settings meant for me to belong where do I? I felt disillusioned but found peace and camaraderie in an unusual place: Skateboarders who were too young to be out that late. I’m not sure why they approached me or how meeting them in that brief moment has stuck with me but I’m glad it happened. To witness the innocence of youth, to see their rebellion, to understand that freedom, everyone else in our carriage seemed bothered by it but I just hope the kid was finally able to snap his board. Also, I may have somehow made a friend who attended Shygirl, just not how I thought I would. The guy who stood beside me at the show and in line has been messaging me. He seems interesting, I wonder where this will go.

CHRISTMAS DEPORTATION MIRACLE “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know…” Acts 2:22
In late 1992, “Wally” Magdangal, a Filipino Christian who for years had pastored a clandestine house church in Saudi Arabia, was arrested. His secret house church was unexpectedly penetrated by the “mutawwa”, the Saudi Arabian religious police.
Wally remembers reading in an Open Doors magazine about a small group in China that gathered weekly in the back room of a small store to worship together. It was the era of the infamous Cultural Revolution. Since the believers could easily be overheard by anyone entering the store, they “sang” hymns together without words or music. Someone whispered the name of the song and they would silently move their lips and simply think of the words and music.
He said, “We are an underground Church like the believers behind the Bamboo Curtain, but the difference is that we can praise in full voice because our facilities are sound-proofed. Not even our closest neighbour can hear us.” But they were betrayed and now Wally was en route to prison.
For three-and-a-half hours he was physically and mentally tortured. They slapped, boxed and kicked him on the face. Then using a long stick, they lashed his back and the palms of his hands. Then the soles of his feet. He could not stand without wincing and he describes his bruised body as looking like an eggplant.
Upon returning to his cell, Wally prayed for five hours thanking God for allowing him to participate in the sufferings of Jesus. Here are his own words; “Suddenly there was light. The cell was filled with the Lord’s Shekinah glory. His presence was there. He knelt and started to touch my face. He told me, ‘My son, I have seen all of it. That’s why I’m here. I am assuring you that I will never leave you or forsake you.’”
Wally woke up two hours later feeling like a new man. He was amazed when he saw his body had been restored to perfect wholeness. No bruises, no cuts, no bleeding or blood stains. He adds, “God had completely restored me.” This was a significant source of strength as he later repeatedly witnessed to his interrogators who were dumbfounded by his healing. Once after sharing his faith, Wally noticed the guard’s countenance change. He was smiling. Wally said, “I could feel the Holy Spirit working already.”
Wally (and his fellow-pastor) was spared scheduled execution on Christmas Day. Miraculously, at the last moment, they were released and deported home to the Philippines. Today he shares God’s goodness and blessing around the world never forgetting that Christmas miracle.
RESPONSE: Today I will thank the Lord that He still works miracles today, here and around the world.
PRAYER: Pray for persecuted Christians who may be in prison today awaiting their miraculous release. Pray they will also be encouraged by the intimate presence of Jesus, Himself.

Obey Me x Filipino! Reader part 1 (Lucifer, Mammon, Asmodeus) Note: Tell me why I haven’t thought of this earlier? Tell me. Tears of themis is taking too long to load so I’m here typing the night away Warnings: long post ahead, food mentions, religion mentions (not much but yeah) Masterlist <Part 2: Leviathan, Satan, Beelzebub, Belphegor>
Tumblr media
Lucifer
When he first read your file, he expected a scared religious person to come out of the portal.
He has seen countless screaming religious people thrown in the pits asking why they are being punished even though they are clean and he expected you to be one of those.
Instead you came out of the portal and stood there just waiting for an explanation as to why you were suddenly in a different place.
For a while he is a bit unnerved with your behavior, freely mingling and befriending demons in your path even though you know the consequences of it.
A part of him thinks that you might be on your way to destroying whatever hierarchy Devildom has and the other part of him mentally scolds you for being careless.
The last straw was seeing you having lunch and giving a few lesser demons head pats when they complain about the day. He asked you about why you are not scared of demons and your answer made sense.
“You know Lucifer, some people just come and go to church for their image. You should come to the human world and meet the demons there.”
He knows hypocrites and faced hypocrites but he did not expect hypocrites inside churches.
I have a headcanon that demons feed through sin and this boy is always full because of the Filipino pride. So if he skips dinner, chances are he already ate using sins and will just go for tea instead.
[ps. As a Filipino, the pride thing is cute but it is very annoying. They legit take pride in everything even if it is bad. Philippines get mentioned on a thing online like a react video? Oh Pride to be Pinoy! Did Filipinos get noticed in online news? Oh Proud to be Pinoy. Bleh]
Mammon
Mammon said he is not happy when he was assigned to be your guide but he is screaming internally
Be careful with your wallet because this guy would love to learn about the betting games and might try to run an underground betting game with you
Chicken fighting? Let’s do that next week because Lucifer is not around.
Beetle fighting? Sure, sure let’s schedule it at the back of the RAD because there are tons of students who want to participate.
Spider wrestling? Sure as long as no students will get bit
He might even try to go to human world because he heard that the lottery prize has reached P900m ($16m) and no one won it yet
He’ll find it weird that people gambles at funeral wakes but will not make a comment for it
One time the two of you actually went to the human world and he was torn between confusion and amazement because he learnt that you can bet on different types of lottery. (You and Lucifer had to pull him home at the end because he got so excited)
Asmodeus
This guy thinks he knows romance until he meets you and learn about the hopeless romanticism that runs in Filipino blood
Like Satan, Asmodeus will read about culture and history, mostly for aesthetics at first until he came across the traditional courtships and it all goes down from there
Before he knew about it he had fallen down the rabbit hole. He went from reading about traditional courtship to the fictional Bonifacio’s letter to Oryang to poets like Jose Corazon de Jesus
Oh it’s not finished yet, from literature he went to jump on music. Asmodeus listening to Eraserheads and making a cover of ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo’? Hell, yes.
He might go on his job singing at the Fall with all the songs he learnt like Mundo by IV of Spades, Magbalik by Callalily, and on top of that he might even ask for the other brothers to play with him
Asmodeus will also jump on television drama and this guy is addicted. He’ll prolly love those mistress thingy shows like ‘The Legal wife’, etc.
This guy might go to human world just to binge watch those shows including korean ones
This guy will probably see two demons in love and will just caught the famous line in Florante and Laura and everyone in the vicinity will look at him like, 'wut did the avatar said?'
And that line being 'O pag-ibig 'pag pumasok sa puso nino man, hahamakin ang lahat masunod ka lamang' which roughly translates to 'love when it enters anyone's heart, will go against all odds just to be fulfilled'
Don’t get me started on cliche wattpad stories, this guy has a collection starting from the classics like Diary ng Panget to the whole Jonaxx collection
Going back to the traditional courtship thing, he will not admit it out loud but he wishes that someone will do that to him. Wait..what do you mean harana has a whole ass structure and not just done by singing? TELL HIM MORE.

part 2 soon because I'm a bit too excited to write this.

Work Songs and Sea Shanties
There’s been a lot of posts making the rounds discussing the ties between industrial union songs, folk songs, and sea shanties (since there’s been a rise in sea shanty popularity because of tik tok.) But I have yet to see one making the direct connection from African American work songs. Which is a little disheartening, as a black person who has always liked and enjoyed the genre.
Work songs have existed lonnnnnggg before shanties. But the distinct lyrical and instrumental form of what we immediately think of as “sea shanty” had antecedents in the working chants of international maritime traditions. Mainly those sung while loading vessels with cotton in ports of the Southern United States, during the 18th and 19th century. And you know what also rose in the 18th and 19th century?
Answer: Chattel Slavery.
“In the first few decades of the 19th century, White European-American culture, especially the Anglophone—the sailors' "Cheer'ly Man" and some capstan songs notwithstanding—was not known for its work songs. By contrast, African workers, both in Africa and in the New World, were widely noted to sing while working. The fact that European observers found African work-singers so remarkable suggests that work songs were indeed rather foreign to their culture.” Source
Slave music has many distinct qualities. In early captivity, drums were used to provide rhythm, but they were banned in later years because of the fear that Africans would use them to communicate in a rebellion (they were, and also used as escape codes.) Slaves then resorted to generating percussion, using other instruments or their own bodies. Another quality is the call-and-response format, where a leader sing’s a verse or verses and the others respond with a chorus. There’s also field hollers, shouts, moans, etc.
As slaves were forced into christianizing, their work songs evolved into Spirituals. Other measures to prevent slave rebellion included making sure that slaves from the same tribe were intentionally scattered, so that they could not share the same language. The forbiddance of practicing indigenous religions and speaking anything other than English meant that eventually, the large groups of slaves were once again able to communicate with each other.
Spirituals were largely informed by the colonial hymns and folk songs of the time. They had the multitudinous purpose of 1.) keeping everyone working 2.) imparting Christian values 3.) describing the hardships of slavery, and 4.) hiding codes to escape. Famous Spirituals include "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “Wade in the Water” and they were a significant part of navigating the Underground Railroad.
The switch to steam powered ships by the end of the 19th century gradually made sea shanties obsolete as work songs, so they are largely preserved as folk music. But because African Americans were still forced into the labour class, their work songs continued to evolve. Here are some chain gang songs for example.
Work songs > Spirituals > Gospel Music > Blues > Every Modern Black American Musical Genre That we Know Today
Not only that, but the root genre of work songs still exist across the globe, distinct to the agricultural and industrial work force of each culture. These videos were all posted within the last 5-10 years, from Tasmania, South Africa, The Philippines, and Tanzania. You can hear the connection between them being the tremendous labour they do.
