Hi! I admit that I know too little about your characters to pick a particular one, but I'm recently fascinated by characters lying, so: for the uncommon questions ask game, can I ask for 10 and 28 for any OCs of your choice, please?

Forewarning: I have a lot of OC's so I'll stick with my favourites. Those are: Kosh, Wraithvine, Rael, Bits, and Delia

Q 10: What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?

Bits: lied to herself that her parentals would be coming back any day now. This kind of resolved itself in the book.

Rael: Told Lyr that an Augment was innocent of murder when he didn't quite believe it himself. Turns out he was correct.

Wraithvine: "This oath will be easy to keep." Haunts hir every day.

Delia: "I will never know true love," said at age fifteen. Is reminded of this every time Kosh gets affectionate.

Kosh: was last _able_ to tell a lie shortly before his fourth birthday. He tried to hide his vegetables in a potplant and told his nurse that he ate them. She made him write lines for a week.

Q 28: Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?

Bits: Will attempt to soften an unpleasant truth as much as possible. Then apologise.

Rael: His LIFE is unpleasant truth. He toughs it out.

Wraithvine: Has learned that the truth is far easier than prevarication. May try to gentle it up depending on the audience.

Delia: Attempts to be kind with the truth.

Kosh: Uses the truth like a weapon. Usually a bludgeon.

22. How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? 

She absolutely becomes aloof and pretends whatever is making her jealous doesn't bother her. She is also very bad at pretending it doesn't bother her and will engage in snarky commentary about it.

25. What are their thoughts on marriage? 

It's not something she currently has any interest in. Maybe as a down the road when things are more settled idea, but right now her life (and career) is too chaotic to consider settling down like that.

36. Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?

Surprisingly, she's rather passive about it. She's a bit of a romantic when it comes to her own love life, as strong and independent as she acts, she wants to be wooed so fucking hard. Whether that changes throughout BOTB with a certain ex-boyfriend... we'll see

I reread your comic about Finch and Astarion discussing mortality every single day. I have cried over it. It’s legitimately one of the most touching pieces of BG3 fan art I’ve ever seen. I love your work and I’m always so excited to see it on the dash!

i'm glad it moved you, because it was admittedly a little personal. i have a lot of strong feelings on that sort of thing, lifespans and what constitutes living, and grief, and the unfairness of it all.

i feel like it was misinterpreted by some folks who thought "oh finch'll eventually come around to the idea of staying forever" rather than "oh astarion'll eventually come to terms with the fact he can't grip everything/everyone he cares about with white knuckles, even if it leaves him bitter to think about now" but that's okay. i... sort of expected that from the fandom given some other interpretations of astarion romances i've seen. enjoying my art in a way i didn't mean is still enjoying it!

thank you again tho, i like making art to show you guys and the love finch has received has been very therapeutic considering he was an oc i really enjoyed but had almost lost the muse for when i tossed him into baldur's gate 🖤

8. Fandom you're a part of that's the most obscure?

hmmmmmm. if it's "fandom that i have at any point been part of" then probably Mars Red, the 2020 vampire anime? if it's "fandom that i can confidently still say i'm in" it's probably Outsiders SMP ^^;

12. Craziest thing you've ever done as part of a fandom?

uh. okay so the thing is i did not really Participate In Fandom at the level of having conversations with other fans and doing things with them until like 2022. maybe 2020, if we're being generous about what words mean. i don't think i've done anything particularly wild during that time either? i know this answer's kind of boring but What have i done?? written a lot of words. hung out.

...wrote 7k+ words of mean gills fic in a twine game hosted on my little out-of-the-way website that maybe like five people total are ever going to read.

this is what the whole game looks like in twine. there are a lot of if statements inside each of those passages. it looks beautiful like this but i am probably not going to do that to myself again?

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

Actually something that will take time. Poetry is very gregarious and personable, but it takes time for her to actually let/consider people close.

36. Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?

So for the most part she actively seeks out flings, but shuns closer commitments (until Woljif). Tied into the above, she doesn’t like letting people close (they can’t abandon you if you never let them in!) Woljif was a slow burn that crept up on her, but like she was also flirting/sleeping with Daeran and Arueshalae, and noped out of those when it turned out they were more serious than she was.

i know the rare and epic bugs are supposed to be yknow,, rare and epic so it wouldn't make sense if they spawned all the time. that being said, it's bad enough that the game has time limits on certain bugs, adding super low spawn rates just makes it worse. imo players should never feel like they have to spend hours playing to catch one bug

Thoughts on Arkveld? It just looks like a moldy Gore Magala to me and the name is really weird. 5.8/10 for me

I really like the name! Sounds very cool to me.

For the design itself I don't really like how it looks in the face? It's a tad too flat for me. Other than that it's alright the grey is nice. However,

CHAIN WINGS!!! FROM FRONTIER?!?!?!? THAT'S VERY AWESOME!!! I'm happy they're taking ideas and monsters from Frontier now. There's a lot of cool concepts in there that I wish was more available to the general worldwide fanbase (I need to play Frontier...).

Also this apparent splash screen for the game on xbox (taken from a tweet, not my pic) shows there being ACTUAL chains on the monster. And considering the game's story is meant to be focusing on themes around nature, the hunter's role in nature, and seems to be going into more detail on ancient civilisation stuff...it has me VERY interested in what Arkveld's role in the story will be. Especially since they're going CRAZILY story heavy this time around (we have CHAPTERS!!!)

Tldr: Not too fussed about the design itself but I DO like it from a story/gameplay perspective. The name sounds cool too

Not long. Her ADHD won't let her, so around 10 minutes tops.

Funny enough, spiders. She's not scared of anything else, BUT spiders. Even if she is one, she was human at one point, and that fear never went away.

Running on foot. She's pretty fast and can even run on all fours if needed. Plus, she thinks it's easier to land an attack if she doesn't have to worry about jumping from a moving vehicle.

Though, if she did have to choose a vehicle, a motorcycle would be acceptable.

I think that, for Selûnite!SH, it would take a while to admit it because she's used to seeing any kind of irreverence as a mortal sin, but I think she has a bit of a thing for blasphemy. Like, being forced to blaspheme. Against Shar or against Selûne; the former as a way to affirm herself against Shar; the latter as a way to see that not all goddesses are like Shar, that she's not gonna get Moonlight Blasted for getting railed on an altar.

Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators

12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?

Depends. Is it like.. literally unreachable? Or is it just that he can't reach it with his hands? If the first one, then he's gonna be a baby about it -- irritable, cat pissed in his porridge kind of deal. The second, he'd probably get a stick like a monkey or go full on bear and rub against something rough lmao

26. What is their preferred mode of transportation?

I so see him as someone who enjoys travelling on horseback, but the issue with that is that I also headcanon that horses are absolutely terrified of him, The Ring style. So I doubt it's something he has a chance to do often, it takes a really well trained horse for him to be able to even get close to it.

38. What memory do they revisit the most often?

What memory? lmao No, but seriously.. I don't think he retains memories well enough to revisit them like most people do. Vague concepts, events, directives - yes. Moments worth coming back to? Nope. It would probably be more about the feelings for him than specific memories. In the way you can smell something familiar and have that bring some familiarity/comfort, but without a specific memory attached to it. He can reminisce about feeling safe, comfortable, happy, but the memory part is fuzzy. Probably gets better post-canon once his brain is not scrambled, but since the memories of everything before that did not get filed properly, he most likely won't be able come back to them.

G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?

Fucking Talk To People, Please. As in.. before shit blows up and you have to. Could've prevented so many personal disasters, but noooooooo. Idiot. This is also a self-callout.

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh? It's easy to get a small chuckle or hum of amusement from him. But big raucous laughter is harder to get from him. Definitely a delight when it does happen! :D

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child Sruthán liked to run off a lot! When his parents were distracted with chores, he'd often scamper off to the nearby river. In town, he'd try to get down to the docks to watch the ships on the water. Eventually, his parents stopped trying to fight it, and would take the time to go with him.

A) Why are you excited about this character? For one thing, I'm very excited to play as a Wild Magic sorcerer! It's such a fun and silly class. It's also really fun having to do research to make a character. Because his main inspiration is an Irish character, I thought it'd be fun to use Irish myth, culture, and language to build his character a bit more, even if I'm putting a ~ * fantasy * ~ twist in there. I don't know what it is about Sruthán specifically (although it's probably his main inspo...), but I'm also having a lot of fun building his story, creating his family and his relationships with them, his job, his desires as a person.

D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look? I love you so much so why are you making me acknowledge this? Can't we all just pretend that I didn't do the thing we all know I did??? Fine... He was always destined to look like Jared Harris. That was, unfortunately, the first thing that was decided when making the character. I've been pretty consistent with his design ((having an actual face that i've drawn a million times now makes that pretty easy lmao)), but I like adding or changing small details. His right ear fin is damaged, so I've added some more scarring around that since he was originally designed. No big changes, and their probably won't be. I just remembered that I was planning on giving him tattoos so, rip to me I guess.

11, 24 and 31 for Ophelia?

11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

Ophelia was taught never to assert herself, so she will not ask clarifying questions and instead will just suffer on in confusion rather than draw attention to herself in any way. Which can lead to even worse circumstances.

24. Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom?

Noooo, she had a very sheltered upbringing. Eventually she does have to discuss the topic with Arueshalae, her partner, but even then, she frustrates her with how non-forthcoming she is on the subject.

31. Who are they the most glad to have met?

The Aeon, even though it also kind of did ruin her life. But for the first time she felt she had control over her situation. Sometimes I consider doing an AU Ophelia run where she goes Gold Dragon at the end or something, but it always seems too out of character. She would do everything the exact same as the first time she did it.
