It was a dark Saturday evening, your father, Diego, was out doing... whatever Diego does on a dark Saturday evening. So, you decided, what better to do than hang out with your favourite uncle, Uncle Klaus. You rolled out of bed and reached for the phone. Klaus was never busy on a Saturday, usually he would spend his Saturdays with you, so you called him and told him to come pick you up. He agreed, excitedly talking about what he had planned.
"Oh my, dear, dear (Y/N/N), you will LOVE what I have planned today!"
Intrigued, you questioned what he meant however he refused to tell you. Excited to find out what he meant, you rushed to get ready and waited to hear the honk of the horn to tell you that Klaus was there and ready to collect you.
~*~*~*~*~
As you finished doing your hair, you heard the HONK and rushed to put your shoes on and get out of the house. As you shut and locked the door, you turned around to be greeted with the sight of your uncle sat in his car with a child-like smile on his face. Quickly, you walked up to the car, pulled the door open, and sat down next to your uncle.
"Will you tell me what we're doing now?"
"Nope, no chance, you'll find out soon enough!"
As you drove further into the city, you were greeted with bright, fun-coloured lights and you felt the car slow down. Finally, you realised what Klaus had planned. He was taking you to a carnival. You grinned happily, and looked over to Klaus. As you pulled into the parking lot, you got hit with memories from years back when you went to the carnival with Klaus and your dad.
You got out of the car and Klaus grabbed you by the sleeve and dragged you to some of the rides. You screamed from the thrill and held onto your uncle on the rides. Laughs and shrieks of happiness were all that emanated from you and your uncle. Dizzy from the rides, you stumbled over to the cotton candy stands, you giggled as you shared it with your uncle. He reached into his pockets and realised quickly he didn't have enough money to keep paying for all the fun things the both of you wanted.
"Hey, (Y/N/N)? Don't tell your Dad about what I'm about to do."
You looked at him, perplexed, as he stood from the bench and walked over to a wealthy-looking man. You sat there, staring at him, unknowing to what he was about to do. Sneakily, he reached into the mans pockets and pickpocketed some money. You gasped but as Klaus held a finger to his lips playfully you couldn't help but let out a small laugh. You knew Klaus shouldn't be doing that but you were used to a lot of his illegal shenanigans.
Before he could get too far from the man, the victim of the theft realised what had happened and turned around to see Klaus with his money. You heard the man shout and he began to chase Klaus and you. You shot up from the bench, hearing a string of 'Shit!' fall from Klaus' mouth. You ran as fast as you could with your uncle, you ran through some attractions, hoping to lose the man. The man hadn't lost you and Klaus but he had been significantly slowed down so there was now quite a bit of distance between you and the man. You managed to make it to the car and threw yourselves in and sped off before the man could reach you.
As you slowed down, realising the man couldn't get to you anymore, the panic wore off and you and Klaus began to laugh hysterically. You laughed about the incident all the way back to your house. After a long day, you both stumbled into the living room. Too tired to change or even go up to your room, you and klaus collapsed onto the couch and fell asleep quickly.
As chaotic as it was, you deemed it a pretty successful day.

🌜I know you better than anyone🌛
pairing: five hargreeves x female reader
summary: it’s been a long time since you last saw Five. due to your nieces’s birthday party, you’re forced to face him again. you can’t help but be surprised when instead of being met with hate, you realize the only thing he wants to do is help you.
genre: angst with a happy ending!
warnings: manipulation? cursing perhaps. nothing major
word count: 4k
notes: this is a little bit based on the gilmore girls scene in which jess confronts rory for dropping out of yale. i saw someone use that audio for a tiktok pov and wrote this. here’s the link to that.
It had been twenty minutes already. Two cars had tried to take your spot during that time and you’d had to awkwardly let them know that you were not leaving. You tried to do a couple of breathing exercises you vaguely remembered Klaus teaching you at some point, but this was something that could not be solved by just taking a few deep breaths in and out. After a couple more minutes had gone by, you decided it was time to put on your big girl pants and get the evening over with.
You got out of your car and opened up the trunk to pull out the gift. Needing both hands to carry it, you struggled a little bit to get it inside. The sound of screaming children filled up your ears, and you could not think of a worse place to be at right now. You spotted a few familiar faces and decided to make your way over there. After having taken a few steps, you tripped over a plastic ball from the ball pit you’d failed to notice and began stumbling as you tried to regain your balance. Mentally having prepared for the fall, you were surprised when it never came. Instead, a firm pair of hands managed to catch you, one of them holding you by the back of your head and the other pressing against the lower part of your back.
“You okay there?” He asked.
You’d known he would be here, but you certainly did not expect him to be the first person you encountered at your niece’s birthday party.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks.” The uncomfortable silence was soon to settle in, and you had to fight back the urge to run back to your car.
Luckily, your attention was caught by the birthday girl herself sprinting towards you after noticing you had arrived.
“Auntie!” Grace yelled, her arms open waiting for you to hug her. You got down on your knees after setting the gift next to a nearby table and embraced the little girl tightly.
“Happy Birthday, Gracie,” you spoke next to the girl’s ear, kissing the top of her head before standing back up to retrieve the big box.
“Is that for me?” she inquired excitedly as her eyes rested upon the gift.
“Of course it’s for you! I think you’re gonna like it a lot.” You winked at her.
“Do you want some help taking it over to the gifts table?” The man who’d saved you from falling asked.
Before you had the chance to answer, Grace seemed to realize something and interrupted you.
“Look Uncle Five, she’s here!” You were a little confused by the statement, given that Five had been standing there the whole time, so it was obvious he knew you were there. However, you figured your niece was just excited about your presence and wanted everybody to know about it.
“Yes Grace, I see her.” Five replied. Based on his tone and demeanor you would’ve guessed he was embarrassed by the situation. But that didn’t make any sense to you.
The little girl turned to you and signaled for you to get on your knees again. Following suit, she cupped her hands and held them to her mouth before getting closer to your ear.
“Uncle Five was asking about you a lot before you got here,” she whispered. Your eyes instantly went to meet Five’s, and by the look on his face you could tell he had some idea of what Grace was telling you.
“I uhm, I’m gonna go get a soda,” he said before walking away. You felt utterly confused by his attitude, not understanding why he was acting the way he was. Why had he been asking about you? Based on the last time you two saw each other, his current actions were nonsensical.
Puzzled but not really being able to do much about the situation, you hugged the little girl once more and went over to the gifts table to leave the heavy box you had been carrying. From behind you, you recognized the voice of the reason why you were even here in the first place.
“That better not be another one of those loud ass toys that lights up and blasts up annoying music.”
You turned around and smiled at the man before you.
“No, this one just barks and shits.”
You enjoyed watching as the color got drained from his face by your response.
“You didn’t,” he said, more of a threat than anything else. You laughed, giving yourself away.
“No, I didn’t. Lila said no dogs. She doesn’t wanna be juggling three kids and a puppy.”
Diego let out a sigh of relief, “Good, I did not want to have that fight today.” He gave you a smile and a quick hug to welcome you.
“It’s been a while,” he said.
“It hasn’t been that long, we saw each other for the twins' recital.” You knew he didn’t mean it as a personal attack, but you couldn’t help but feel bad by what he’d said. You tried to be there as much as possible for your family, but things were different now.
“Yeah, that was two months ago!” He laughed, but you knew he didn’t find the situation funny, he was just trying not to come off too harshly.
“I’m sorry.” You shrugged.
He noticed the hint of sadness in your eyes and his own expression softened.
“It’s fine, I wish we saw each other more often but we all understand.” You chuckled a little at his lie. Certainly they didn’t all understand.
“You have no idea how much I wish that were true.” You were both quiet for a minute, mutual understanding flowing between the two.
“His hair’s gotten longer,” you spoke, breaking the silence.
“Yeah, he’s become more of an asshole also.” You both laughed. Diego moved closer to you and gave you a half hug.
“It’s going to be fine. Give it time and you’ll see.” You closed your eyes and let yourself give into his embrace. You doubted time would be able to solve anything, but it didn’t hurt to hope.
You didn’t speak to Five again for the rest of the evening. You’d caught him looking at you from a distance a couple of times, but you hadn’t been able to look at him back. After cake, you made the round of goodbyes and left the building before he got the idea of speaking to you. Back in the safety of your car, the tears came rolling down your face before you could do anything to stop them. The memories of your last encounter with Five came flooding back, and all of those times you had repressed them only worked to make them stronger now.
You had just gotten out of the shower, which you had cut short after the hot water had run out. You got dressed quickly and cursed at yourself for choosing such a cheap place to stay at. It would not surprise you to find all kinds of stains if you were to use a UV light in this room. Repulsed by the thought, you grabbed your toothbrush with the intention of cleaning your teeth when you heard a loud persistent knock on the door. You were reluctant to open up at first, but when the knocking didn’t stop, you figured it was the only way to get them to stop knocking.
Grabbing one of your knives, you made your way to the door and through the peephole noticed who the person on the other end was. You unlocked the entrance and allowed him to come inside.
He looked agitated, his brows furrowed in a prominent frown. His hair was all over the place, drastically different to how it usually looked.
“So, you weren’t going to tell me that you were leaving?” Of course you hadn’t told him, you knew this was exactly what he would’ve done if you’d told him.
“I knew you would try to stop me,” you spoke softly, not wanting him to get any more agitated than he already was.
“What kind of idiotic response is that? Of course I would’ve tried to stop you.” His words stung.
“I can’t do this right now, Five. I’ve already made up my mind and I’m at peace with my choice.” You tried to sound as convincing as possible.
“It’s a stupid decision you’re making and I’m not gonna stand here and let you make it.”
“It’s already done, there’s nothing I can do about it,” you felt your voice getting weaker, but you didn’t want to break in front of him.
“Of course there is, I’ll help you get out of it. I’ve done it before.” He didn’t understand any of it, and he could certainly not fix it either.
“Five…” you began.
“Look, I know you, I know you better than anyone. This isn’t you.” Of course he was right, but you couldn’t admit that to him. Instead, you chose to remain quiet.
“What are you doing? Living at this cheap motel, working for The Commission, leaving us behind- why did you leave me behind?” He looked away, not being able to hold your gaze at the moment. You knew that what had hurt him the most is that you hadn’t told him you were leaving. You hadn’t come to him to let him know you were going back to the place you both had tried so hard to escape from in the first place.
“It’s.. complicated,” you said.
“It’s not! It’s not complicated,” he yelled.
“You don’t know!” You wished you could explain it all to him, but he couldn’t know the truth.
“This isn’t you! This- you going back to working for The Handler. We did the impossible to get away from her.”
“She’s not the same woman she once was…” You tried to defend her, not even believing it yourself.
He ran his hand through his hair with anger, frustrated by your answers.
“This isn’t about her, screw her! What’s going on with you? This isn’t you, you know it isn’t. What’s going on?” He walked closer to you, watching you intensely.
“I don’t know,” you admitted.
“Come home. To hell with all of this! Just- just come home.” He took your hands in his, silently pleading with you.
Knowing there was only one way out of this, you decided you had to do this in order to keep him and the rest safe.
“Home? What exactly is home? This is your family you keep talking about, not mine. The Handler is the one who took me in and gave me a place to live when no one else would. Grow up Five! You think this is how I wanna spend the rest of my days? In this fucked up timeline where we don’t even have our powers?  No way I’m staying here, so I would appreciate it if you stopped claiming to know better than me and left me alone for once.” You broke your hands free from his hold and walked to the entrance to hold the door open for him. He hesitated for a few moments before following you to the door.
“So what? You and I- none of it matters anymore? You’re just choosing to throw it all away?”
“This has nothing to do with us, nothing to do with you. I can’t always put you above everything else.” Knowing that was exactly what you were doing was the worst part of this.
“I always have,” he said, sounding defeated.
“Well I guess that’s the difference between you and I.” You put the last nail on the coffin.
With that, Five left the room and stood in the hall.
“When you regret this, and you will regret this, don’t come crawling back to me or my family,” he said before walking away. Based on his words, you knew you’d managed to hurt him a great deal. He was not going to come back now, which both relieved you and made you want to crawl into your bed and cry for hours on end.
That was the last time you had seen Five before today.
A couple of years after The Handler had taken Lila in, she found you under similar circumstances and chose to raise you as well. The two of you grew up as sisters, carrying out all sorts of missions for the woman you learnt to call mother. Soon, your power began showing and you realized you had been blessed with time control, which came in handy as it meant you didn’t need to use a briefcase for your line of work. One day, you’d chosen to visit the world post-apocalypse, something you knew your mother would never approve of. As you walked through the ruins of what used to be planet Earth, you noticed there was someone else here with you. At first, you thought it must be someone from The Commission, as any other answer was simply not possible. However, upon closer inspection, you realized he wasn’t someone who you’d seen before. That was the first time you’d met Five, and after almost being shot by him, you managed to strike a conversation with him. Soon, you two became close, and after a couple of times of visiting him, you decided to bring him back to the headquarters, risking your mother’s rage.
She wasn’t thrilled about it at first, and threatened you in multiple ways after finding out what you had done. But after watching Five successfully accomplish his first mission, she allowed him to stay. When you’d met him, he’d confessed to having spent six years already surviving on his own, and you could only imagine how much longer he would’ve spent there if you hadn’t found him.
He also told you about his family and how he wished he could get back to them, which is how he slowly began convincing you to help him out. It wasn’t easy, as you hadn’t been on board with the idea in the beginning, but after working together and earning each other’s trust, you had agreed to help him.
You sneaked out one day and left alongside Five to get him back to his family. That was the first time they failed to stop the apocalypse. The second time, Lila was involved, and after getting over her initial anger at you for leaving her behind, she joined you and the others.
You thought you had managed to leave the life you had once led behind. That you were safe now with Five and your newly found family. However, you were proven wrong when one day, The Handler appeared inside your own home, sitting on your couch.
“Long time no see.” Her voice made your blood go ice cold.
“What are you doing here?” You asked.
“Is that the proper way to greet your mother?”
“What do you want?” You insisted.
“You didn’t think I would seriously allow you to walk out with two of my best agents, now did you? I would’ve thought I raised you to be smarter than that.” You knew at that moment that whatever this was, it wasn’t going to end well for you.
“I didn’t take anyone with me, they chose to leave on their own.” You clenched your fists, ready for whatever was about to go down.
“Well, in that case then I think I’ll just go then. Thanks for clearing that up.” She stood up and prepared to leave, but you knew it was not going to be this easy. Right on cue, she turned towards you and spoke again.
“Before I leave though, I thought you should know I have agents right now placed all over to take shots at that precious little family of yours.” Your jaw clenched.
“I don’t believe you.”
She smiled at you, “That is up to you, sweetheart, but do you really want to risk baby Grace taking a shot to the head because her aunt didn’t do anything to protect her?” You wanted to strangle her, but you knew that wasn’t going to fix anything.
“What do you want?” You asked for a second time.
She faked thinking about it for a second, as if she didn’t already know exactly what she wanted from you.
“I want you to come back to work for me. I want you to do it today without telling anyone, especially that little special friend of yours.”
“Who? Five?” You didn’t like that she was paying special attention to him during this conversation.
“Bingo! You speak a word of this to him and he gets a bullet in the brain. And now that he doesn’t seem to have his powers anymore, don’t think he’s gonna be able to get out of this unharmed.” You felt shivers run down your whole body at the thought.
“What do you even gain from this? I can’t even travel through time anymore, I’m useless to you without my powers.” You didn’t understand why she’d want you back specifically. Both Lila and Five were far more skilled than you.
“You need to learn there are consequences to your own actions. This is your consequence.” You could hear the satisfaction in her voice.
“There’s a briefcase waiting for you at this address. Don’t be late, your first assignment is tomorrow morning.” She handed you a piece of paper you shoved into your pocket, knowing there was no way out of this. Maybe, if you all had your powers, you could figure out a solution, but in the state you were all in, the only way to keep everybody safe was to do what The Handler wanted you to do. You could already feel your heart breaking, hating her even more for doing this to you.
You jumped when you heard a knock on the window of your car, being too lost in thought to notice someone had been approaching you. You quickly wiped your tears with the back of your hand and tried to look presentable before rolling down the window.
“You left without having any cake.” Five was standing outside your car, two paper plates with servings of chocolate cake on them.
“I needed to get back to work,” you lied, hoping he would leave you alone.
“Well, I’ve been watching you sit in your car ever since you left so I’m not buying that.” Of course he’d been watching you cry pathetically all this time.
“Open up?” he requested. Knowing that he wasn’t going to leave until he got what he wanted, you unlocked the doors and allowed him to get into the passenger seat. He handed you one of the plates and you rested it on your lap, knowing you weren’t going to be able to eat it without making yourself sick given the situation you were in.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” he blurted out. You opened up your mouth to deny it but he beat you to it.
“Don’t try to deny it. For the past year everytime you find out I’m gonna be somewhere you suddenly have to cancel. Happened with Claire’s science fair, happened with Luther’s barbeque and it happened with Grace’s play,” he listed. Of course he was right, but you weren’t going to admit that to him.
“I’ve just been very busy,” you said.
“Why didn’t you want to see me?” His question took you by surprise. You thought that after your last conversation he was the one that wouldn't want to see you again.
“I think it’s best if we keep our distance from one another.”
He looked taken aback, hurt, even. Great, you were causing even more damage now.
“Best? Best for who? You or me?”
“You said not to come back looking for you.” You didn’t want to throw in his face the words he’d spoken in a moment of anger, but you needed an excuse to get out of this.
“You and I both know I didn’t mean any of that. I was angry that you were choosing to leave, but I didn’t want things to end up like this. I’m sorry.” He stared at his plate, toying with the fork. You could only imagine he couldn’t stomach taking a bite as well.
“Things are complicated, Five. This is how they need to be.”
“Then explain them to me. I’m not an idiot, I know you’re doing this under some sort of manipulation from The Handler, I just can’t figure out what she has on you that made you go back.” He stopped staring at his cake to shift his gaze towards your face. He looked broken, almost as broken as you.
“I can’t- I can’t tell you anything.” You knew that by saying that you were admitting to not doing things freely, but you hoped it would be enough to get him to understand your motives.
“Whatever it is, I can help. You need to trust me.”
“How will you help me? What would you do if she sent people here to kill you? How are you going to defend yourself?” You were growing more agitated.
“Is that what this is about? She’s threatened to hurt me?” You stayed quiet, giving him the confirmation that he needed.
“I can take care of myself, or are you forgetting that I managed to survive years on my own in a post-apocalyptic world? None of that had anything to do with my powers. I understand that you’re scared, but that’s what we’re here for.”
He always oversimplified things. Made it seem as if you were the one exaggerating, as if he could just make everything better.
“Maybe you can take care of yourself, but what about the kids? What about Klaus? Have you seen him lately?”
He chuckled at your words, lightening up the mood.
“Okay, maybe you’re right, but you should’ve come to me first with all of this. I’ve been taking care of my family for years, and will continue to do so considering how stupid they constantly prove to be.”
It was your turn to chuckle now.
“I promise you we’ll figure something out together. Key word being together.” He took one of your hands in his.
“I’m not gonna let you continue to deal with this on your own.” He looked determined to keep his promise, which is why you allowed yourself to feel a glimmer of hope.
“If something were to happen to any of them, then it would be on me,” you said, staring at your lap in shame.
He used his free hand to cup your cheek and force you to look at him.
“Nothing’s going to happen. We’ve survived worse. And if something were to happen, it wouldn’t be your fault. None of this is your fault,” he reassured you.
“Please trust me, love,” he said, the nickname slipping out, taking you back to better times, easier times.
“I really want to,” you admitted, tears welling up in your eyes.
“Then do.” He moved closer to you, letting go of your hand to grab your face with both of his hands. He put his forehead to yours and allowed you to stay like that for a second.
“I don’t think I can tolerate losing you a second time,” he whispered against your lips.
“You won’t,” you whispered back.
Soon, his lips were against yours, falling back into routine as if nothing had happened between you two. One of his hands moved to your waist, tightening his grip on you. The kiss turned more intense as he began moving with more force, showing you how much he’d missed you. Your hand got lost in his hair, enjoying the new length. He pulled away and smiled against your lips.
“I missed you so much,” he said. You shared the feeling, regretting how you’d chosen to handle things. There was a lot at stake, a lot you needed to figure out, but what mattered is that you would do that together. No matter what happened from now on, you had each other to fall back onto.

A Day with Uncle Klaus
Five Hargreeves x reader
A/N: I hope you forgive me that this little story is more about Maddie and her uncle Klaus. Can you imagine how sweet Klaus would be to his little niece?
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Maddie Hargreeves, the six-year-old daughter of Five and Y/N, was a bundle of energy. She had inherited her father's curiosity and her mother's kindness, but she also had a unique gift of her own: the ability to make things float. Today, she was set to spend the day with her favorite uncle, Klaus, known for his mischievous charm and penchant for chaos.
"Are you sure you're up for this?" Y/N asked, her eyes filled with a mix of amusement and concern.
Klaus waved a dismissive hand. "Please, I've dealt with spirits, apocalypses, and your husband. How much trouble can one little girl with telekinesis be?"
Y/N chuckled, giving Maddie a kiss on the forehead. "Have fun, sweetie. And listen to Uncle Klaus, okay?"
Maddie nodded eagerly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Okay, Mommy!"
As they set off, Klaus and Maddie walked hand in hand, ready for their adventure.
Their first stop was the local market. Klaus thought it would be fun to show Maddie around the bustling stalls, filled with vibrant colors and delicious smells. As they wandered through the market, Maddie's eyes grew wide with wonder.
"Can I make things float, Uncle Klaus?" she asked, her small hand tugging at his sleeve.
Klaus grinned. "Of course, just be careful not to cause too much of a scene."
Maddie nodded, concentrating hard on a bunch of apples at a nearby stall. Slowly, they began to rise into the air, floating gently above the vendor's head.
The vendor looked up, eyes wide. "What in the world?"
Klaus quickly stepped in, snatching the apples from the air and placing them back on the stall. "Sorry about that! Just a little magic trick."
The vendor, still bewildered, shook his head but eventually laughed it off. Klaus winked at Maddie, who giggled.
Next, they headed to a nearby park, where Klaus had brought along a kite. As they found a clear spot, Klaus handed the kite to Maddie. "Want to see if you can make this fly without any wind?"
Maddie nodded eagerly, gripping the kite string tightly. She focused, and the kite began to lift off the ground, soaring high into the sky.
"Look, Uncle Klaus! It's flying!" Maddie exclaimed, jumping up and down with excitement.
Klaus laughed, clapping his hands. "That's amazing, Maddie! You're a natural."
They spent the next hour making various objects float around the park, much to the amazement of passersby. A couple of ducks quacked in confusion as they found themselves hovering a few inches above the pond, and a group of kids cheered when their soccer ball started floating in mid-air.
As the afternoon wore on, Klaus decided it was time for a treat. They went to an ice cream parlor, where Maddie insisted on trying the most colorful flavor available. They sat outside, enjoying their ice cream and watching the world go by.
"Uncle Klaus, do you think Daddy can make things float too?" Maddie asked between licks of her cone.
Klaus chuckled. "No, your daddy has other cool powers. But you're special, Maddie. You've got a gift."
Maddie beamed, her face covered in ice cream. "I like my gift. It's fun."
Their final stop was a little craft store where Klaus had promised Maddie she could pick out something special. Maddie chose a set of colorful beads and strings to make bracelets. As they paid and left the store, Maddie couldn't resist making the beads float in a sparkling, swirling dance above their heads.
People around them gasped and pointed, but Maddie just giggled, enjoying the spectacle she was creating.
"You're causing quite a stir, Maddie," Klaus said, grinning. "Let's get home before we end up on the news."
When they finally returned home, Y/N and Five were waiting, curious to hear about their day.
"Did you have fun?" Y/N asked, pulling Maddie into a hug.
Maddie nodded vigorously. "It was the best day ever! We made apples float, flew a kite without wind, and even made ducks hover!"
Five raised an eyebrow at Klaus. "Ducks?"
Klaus shrugged, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, it was all in good fun."
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. "Thank you, Klaus. It sounds like you both had a wonderful day."
Maddie yawned, her energy finally waning. "Can we do it again, Uncle Klaus?"
Klaus smiled, giving her a gentle hug and a kiss on the forehead. "Anytime, kiddo. Anytime."
As Maddie was tucked into bed, her eyes already closing, Five and Y/N looked at each other and smiled.
"She had a great day," Y/N said softly.
Five nodded, wrapping an arm around her. "Yeah, she did. Thanks to Uncle Klaus."
In the living room, Klaus settled onto the couch with a contented sigh. He might have been the family wild card, but today, he felt like a hero in his niece's eyes. And that was more than enough.

Hii!! Can we have a part two of “my little Angel”? I would love to see a part two starting right in the moment it sopped, I’m obsessed with that and with Five as a dad😭❤️😭❤️😭❤️😭
My little angel
Five Hargreeves x reader
Pt.2 of my little angel
Five held Lina in his arms while he stared at you. You lovingly admire his bottle green eyes. Vanya came back, she first gave you a glance then stared at Five holding Lina. She had a puzzled look on her face since when she was with Five he didn’t have a kid. She then decided to just ask, there was nothing wrong with asking right?
“Umm Five, who's the kid, and why does she look like you?”
Five contemplated on letting her know, but this was his kid! Why shouldn’t he show off his little angel. He looked at you; you were breathtakingly glowing. Pregnancy really did a wonderful job on you. You were practically glowing, but then again that could be your powers making you glow, so goddess-like and glowing like the sun.
“She’s my beautiful daughter, Evangeline Hargreeves.”
Five announced with so much fondness and confidence, his face was relaxed, something that Vanya had not seen in a while. Vanya stared at Lina and looked at Five. She saw the way Five loved his kid, also Lina looked like a female version of Five. She then smiled, happy he was happy, the time that she has known him (which has been a short while since she doesn’t remember anything at all.) You looked at your sister-in-law and introduced yourself again to her. You all four finally walked out of the cafe shop and started walking who knows where. Just that Five had a place he was staying at and wanted you to go with him. Of course you did follow him, he had your daughter in his arms after all. Lina talked to Five about anything and everything. She told him about staying with her uncle Klausy and how they got back to Dallas.
You winced at the memory, it just happened two days ago, so of course it was a recent thing she will probably remember. Five gave you a look and you just smiled nervously. You knew he was going to ask you about it, but for now he was content with Lina talking his ear off about her days. Five told you he was going to an underground fight since Luther decided to get himself into that with his stay in Dallas first. You winced and took Lina from his arms. He gave you a confused look. You gave him a look he knew way too often.
“My miele, I love you but our kid is not going into an underground fight to see sweaty men and get traumatized.”
You explained to him so he understood why. He nodded his head, moving it side to side to understand that yes maybe that wasn’t the brightest idea he has. Lina first complained, wanting to stay with her father since seeing him for the first time; but you did let her know that we will see him later, he was just going to run errands with auntie Vanny and you promised to take the cake to uncle Klausy and uncle Benny.
She nodded with a cute serious face and gave her dad a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Five had the biggest smile on his face and he gave Lina many kisses all over her face that made her let out giggles. You chuckled and grabbed Lina’s hand. You gave Five a sweet kiss and told him where you were staying. You both bid goodbye and made your way back to Klaus’s mansion. Lina looked so happy getting to finally see her father in person, all she had was stories from you and uncle Klausy. You knew she was going to talk about her day to Klaus and Ben, she loved the stories you will tell her about her father, letting her know she looked exactly like her father. Getting back to the mansion you decide to prepare for dinner, hoping you will finally have lunch with your husband and child like an actual family. Once you are done you decide to visit your friend with Lina in tow. You take a basket and add food for your friend, and you and your kid.
You let Lina know you’ll both be walking towards Elliot's house. She nods and grabs her backpack. You both make your way to the store and open the door. Once inside you knock on the second door and wait, Elliot opens the door and looks around,once he sees you both he smiles and mentions you both to come in. You go in and put the basket down on the table and look around. Lina runs around and you just smile fondly at your daughter. You start small talk with Elliot while he takes out some paper and crayons for Evangeline. Elliot starts talking about a guy that just showed up at his place and is now staying there. You gave him a deadpanned look and shook your head in disappointment.
“Elliot, are you getting taken advantage of by this guy? Do you even know who he is? I mean does he even know you like that for him to just stay at your house?”
You question genuinely worries for your older friend. You put a hand up making him stop answering you.
“Actually Elli i don’t think I want to know the answers to my questions. Anyways, come and eat. I made my husband’s favorite food.”
You saw he gave you a sad look but still came and sat down. You went towards the living room not knowing that your husband and Diego were coming from the other side. You tried to get Evangeline to come and eat, but for some reason she was being stubborn and wouldn’t come to eat. You knew if she kept at it she was going to throw a tantrum. You sighed and looked at her.
“Angel?”
You knew that voice. You turned towards the door and saw your husband with your brother in law. You sighed happily, Lina got up and ran towards her dad screaming happily. You looked at your husband and went back towards the kitchen to prepare two more plates for the surprised guests. Diego looked at you and Five back and forth.
“Who’s the cute looking kid?”
You looked at Diego and looked at Evangeline and gave him a deadpanned look. He still looked confused and then his eyes widened and he looked shocked and looked at Five pointing at him. You snorted and let out a laugh. Five looked at Diego, not entertaining his questioning. You told the boys to sit down, hoping that if Five was sitting down meant that Lina would also sit down to eat. She ran towards her father sitting on his lap ready to eat. You were glad you didnt have to tell her, but you were going to talk to Five about her stubbornness she inherited from him. Once the night ended, Elliot let you stay the night in the guest bedroom Five was already staying at. You got Lina ready for bed, her falling asleep from using all her energy playing with her Uncle Diego. You got into your nightgown and started braiding your hair when your husband came into the room. He sighed and took off his coat, sweater vest and tie. He hugged you from behind and put his head on your shoulder.
“You have no idea how much I missed you.”
You leaned your head back, you turned around and hugged him back. You sniffed him, him still selling like coffee and the forest.
“I know miele you don’t know how much I needed you here, but I’m glad you’re here with us now.”
You both layed down, each of us on one side of Evangeline. We all snuggled together and held hands. You whisper to not wake up Lina.
“I love you Five Hargreeves.”
“I love you even more Y/N Hargreeves…. and little Evangeline Hargreeves.”

As Seen on Disney
Warnings: slight mentions of child abandonment, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Viktor Hargreeves x daughter reader, Hargreeves siblings x niece reader
Request: Hello may I request platonic Hargreeves with Vanya! Daughter reader? Like maybe Vanya found us in a basket in front of her door and was like "welp, might as well" (this takes place in first season) and for some reason we have a Disney vibe™️ if reader burst in a song other people join and know the lyrics and dance, she can underastand animals, etc. Like Giselle from Enchanted but reader is kind of embarrased. I just want everyone to be dumbfonded by this real life Disney princess
Request by: Anon
*not my gif*
Summary: Viktor finally introduces you to his siblings
A/n: This kinda sucks, sorry
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“Guys,” Viktor cleared his throat, almost nervously, “I want you to meet my daughter, Y/n.”
All of his siblings froze, their eyes snapping over to where he stood in the doorway of the living room, watching as he gently beckoned to someone from off to the side.
Slowly, you shuffled into view with your head hung low, eyes flitting up to everyone in the room for a second before immediately skirting away again, “Hi,” You whispered shyly.
“D-daughter?” Diego stuttered out, unable to wrap his mind around the fact that his own brother had a child he never knew about.
“Not biologically!” Viktor immediately assured them, “But a few years ago she was left on my doorstep with a note talking about how her mother didn’t know anyone else that could take care of her.”
Allison raised an eyebrow, “Do you know her mother?”
Viktor shook his head lightly, “No, no, it’s not like that. It’s-“
“I’m like you guys,” You blurted out, face reddening at your own words.
Fives eyebrows shot up, “Like us in the way of having special abilities?”
“Exactly like that,” Viktor confirmed, reaching over and rubbing your back comfortingly, “I was going to tell you guys about her during dads funeral but then everything happened and I never got the chance.”
“Ooh!” Klaus squealed, bounding over and scooping you up in his arms, “I have another neice! Which isn’t saying much because I never met Claire, but-“
“Put her down, you moron,” Five hissed, sauntering over and slapping his brothers hands away, “You’re probably making her uncomfortable.”
You shook your head a little bit, “No, it’s alright.” You whispered.
“So, kid,” Diego said, bracing his arms on his knees as he leaned forward, “What is it that you can do?”
And all at once, you seemed to crawl back into your shell and your eyes averted themselves to the ground once more where you were kicking your shoe back and forth slightly.
“She can talk to animals,” Viktor told them for you, “It’s okay,” He whispered just for you to hear, “They’ll understand.”
You looked up at him for a moment, reading his eyes, before shyly looking back at your aunt and uncles and whispering, “I can also sing.”
“What do you mean by that?” Luther asked out of pure curiosity.
“It’s like a Disney movie,” Your father offered helpfully, “She can’t control it, but it happens a lot where she randomly breaks into song.”
It’s silent for a moment, one that had you holding your breath and your heart hammering from not only anticipation for how they would react, but from sheer embarrassment of it all.
“That is so cool!” Klaus suddenly exclaimed, “Show me! Show me! Show me!” He was bouncing up and down like a child.
Relief flooded through you like a tsunami wave and you cracked a small smile at the fact that they weren’t weirded out or disgusted by what you could do.
“She can’t control it,” Five hissed before rolling his eyes at the man, “God, don’t you listen to anything?”
“That is so cool!” Allison agreed, walking over and crouching in front of you before embracing you gently, “And it’s very nice to meet you, Y/n.” A chorus of agreements sounded from the rest of the siblings.
Your grin widened as you made eye contact with your father, who grinned widely at you back. Not just you, but he too had been dreading and been so nervous for how today was going to go that when it actually went well, it felt like a giant weight was being lifted off of your shoulders.

Trauma really does bond
The umbrella academy x teen!reader
Summary: It’s time for you to meet your siblings. But what happen when your introductions don’t exactly go as planned?
Tumblr media
You were trembling as you walked behind Pogo and Grace. Its ironic, you’ve waited your whole life for this moment. To finally meet your siblings and expand your family. A childish hope of your siblings one day returning to the mansion and accepting you with open arms.
But now that you actually have a chance to meet them, you’re terrified. You realized that you have no idea how to talk to people. It’s different than when you talk to Pogo or your mother. These are complete strangers. No matter how many stories you’ve been told, how many times you read Vanyas book, you truly didn’t know these people. How were you meant to be a family? How are you supposed to-
Y/n? Dear?”
You’re snapped from your thoughts by your mother calling you.
“Yes, momma?”
“Momma? Pogo, who’s that?”
You turn, again surprised by an unfamiliar voice. There she was. Alison Hargreeves. She’s beautiful.
Her hair is curly and blonde, with beautiful high cheekbones and glowing brown skin. Her as were kind even as she squinted at you skeptically in confusion.
“Alison, this is Y/n Hargreeves, or Number Eight. She’s your sister.”
Grace again gives you a light nudge, and you move in front of her. It was then that you realized that you are shorter than Alison, having to glance up to meet her eyes.
“My sister?” She looks at you in disbelief, “How come we didn’t know? This wasn’t mentioned by the press or anything...”
“Your father decided to keep our dear Y/n a secret.” Grace said wrapping her arm around you, “ She’s been our little secret for 17 years and 4 months.”
“A secret? But why? I mean, what was the reason?”
“Your father, believed that the world wasn’t ready for a new superhero. Nor was Y/n ready to face the world.” Pogo said with a grim face, “ He had hoped though, that one day he would be able to take her out...but it seems that for now, Y/n shall remain inside.”
You frowned, holding back tears at the thought. You didn’t know that your father had wanted to let you out, nor that he wanted to be there when you were. But, what truly upset you, was that you had to stay in the mansion. Freedom was at the tip of your fingers and you didn’t even know it.
“Stay inside? You mean she’s never been outside?” Alison said horrified.
“Well she has been out in the courtyard and such, but Mr. Hargreeves prohibited her to leave the premises. Nor was she allowed to be in contact with the citizens”
“She’s been here all alone?” Alison asks sadly, “ With no one to talk to? No one her age?”
“I’m afraid not” Pogo says sadly, looking at you.
You didn’t understand the big deal. Of course you were lonely, and wanted to explore the world, but you knew why you had to stay. You can just hear your fathers words.
“You have a duty Number Eight. A duty to your people and to me. It may not be ideal but sacrifices are hardly ideal.”
And everytime you thought about leaving, you’d remember his words and stay put. Besides you wouldn’t dare disobey your father.
Not after the last time.
“Well,” Alison says gently, leaning down to your eye level, “ Hello Y/n, I’m Alison Hargreeves, your big sister.”
Your eyes widened at her words as your heart filled with joy. For so many years  you imagined those words. You wondered how this whole thing would play out, how meeting your siblings might be. And to hear Alison so readily accept you, it brought tears to your eyes.
“Hello, Alison” You say beaming as you carefully step forward, “ I’ve been waiting a long time to meet you, Momma says you live in California, what is it like?”
Alison smiles at your question, your demeanor like a small child. It reminded her of Claire...
“It’s very nice, maybe when we have time I’ll be able to tell you all about it.”
Your smile widens as you turn to your mother excitedly, she smiles back and says, “ That sounds wonderful dear, but you should go and change. You know the rules. You don’t want your father finding you in your night clothes, now would you?”
You furrow your brows,” Momma...”
“No buts now march” She says with a grin. You smile at Alison but see the worried look on her face.
“So she did notice how weird momma acting” You think to yourself. You stay in a daze as you walk towards your room. Worrying about your mother, grieving your father, and thinking about how you’re finally meeting all your siblings. Then as you turn a corner into the hallway that leads to your room, you’re knocked to the ground as you bump into a wall of a body.
“Ow!” you squeal as you hit the ground, rubbing the back of your head and peering up at the person you bumped into.
“Uh..sorry Y/n”
“Luther!” You shout, your pain overridden by the happiness you felt at seeing your brother, one that actually knows you exist.
He helps you up, which to him is like picking up a feather, and  before he knew it, your arms are wrapped around his midsection. Luther awkwardly pats your back, not really expecting to be hugged.
“It's great to see you Luther! I read all your mission reports, or rather the ones that Father let me read. I always wished you good night though! Pogo always caught me looking at the moon with that telescope, I hope you don’t mind that I used it. It's just that I missed you so-” Your happy ramblings cut off by a Luther clearing his throat.
“Ahem...right, um hey Y/n, I gotta go...check on something.” He says gently pushing you away, “It was nice seeing you though.”
And with that he walks away, leaving you in the hallway as you stare at his retreating form.
“oh...okay then! I’ll see...see you later.” You say, disheartened by his brief acknowledgement. You sigh, walking into your room.
“I don’t know why I try...” You mumble to yourself. “ It’s not like he was ever happy to see me before.”
You go into your closet, trying to figure out what to wear. Usually, Grace picked out your outfits, ordered by your father, but she didn’t leave anything out for you today. So, you settled for a black turtleneck sweater, a black and white plaid skirt, black knee high socks with some mary janes. It wasn’t really your go to look, but you felt like it was appropriate given the circumstance. You let your hair loose, curls falling into your face as you let it out of the bun you quickly put it in.
You go to walk out of the room when you’re stopped by a gleam. You see the necklace your father gave to you after the incident. You stare at it, debating on whether you should put it on or not. You sigh, deciding to wear it, it was his funeral after all. You put it on, the cold metal never truly seem to heat up, the pendant heavy on your chest. You never grew attached to it. It just served as a reminder that you’re stuck in the mansion. You can never leave. Not until he let you and now...
You shake your head. Trying not to get into your thoughts, that's when you heard it. Little scratching at your window. You turn to see Despereaux, the little mouse  you saved when you were younger. Ever since that day it was like you and him formed a bond.
You open the window excited to see your little friend.
“Hello Despereaux, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you.” You whisper as you let him climb on to your shoulder. “ you’ve missed quite a bit since I’ve last seen you. How about some cheese?”
You walk out of your room, Despereaux nestled on your shoulder. As you walk through the long hallways, you bump into another body.
“Ouch, again?” You whisper to yourself, rubbing your forehead.
“Hey watch it...teenage girl?” A male voice said in a perplexed tone.
You look up to see a man in some rather tight clothes and kohl ringed eyes.
“Hello” You quietly mutter with a soft smile. “I’m Y/n”
“You are adorable.” The man says, “ Where has the old man been hiding you?”
You blush looking down at your feet, you were never really complimented. Only by Grace.
“ Aww” The man squeals, squishing you to his body. He smelled like booze and sweat but the hug was nice, “ I have no idea who you are but I’m your uncle Klaus from now on.”
“You’re Klaus?” You say excitedly, “ I’m so glad to meet you!”
You wrap your arms around him, feeling the outline of something hard and metal in the back of his pants. You ignored it though, happy to meet another one of your siblings.
“Ugh it’s so nice to be around someone who isn’t a total stick in the mud.” Klaus says letting go of you, “ Like Luther, all that rage in that big body”
You giggle at his words and eccentric behavior. It was a stark contrast to the ridgid stoic behavior that you’re used to. Klaus’ grand gestures and silly nature was new to you.
“I’ve heard alot about you.” You say happily, “ Mama always tells me stories about how you used to steal  her shoes and skirts and Father said--”
“Father?” Klaus asked, “ You mean ol’ Reggie bought you too? Or are you like..his offspring? Eww! I don’t want to think about that, shut up Ben.”
Ben?
“Father adopted me, I was born with powers like you.” You clarify for him.
“Huh, so he managed to create another trauma case before he croaked.” Klaus said in a light voice, “Well. I always wanted a little sister.”
You smile, glad that at least two of your siblings liked you. But what did he mean by trauma case.
“Anywho, I have some... inheritance I need to collect. I, will see you at the funeral, das Kind”
And with a wiggle of his fingers he was off, gone as quick as when you met him. Leaving you yet again, alone. You shrug off his odd behavior when you heard two voices speaking.
“ah no, not to my knowledge.”
“But..the spine is broken and there's notes in the margins.”
“ Yes, that would be the work of.. ah Y/n, there you are.”
You jump in surprise, although you should’ve know. You can never eavesdrop with Pogo around.
You walk down the stairs, slowly towards Pogo and.. Vanya!
Out of all the siblings, she’s the one you wanted to meet the most. She, like you was isolated in this mansion. You felt a connection to her as soon as you were able to pick up that book. Your heart raced as you made it to the final step, reaching the first flower and into the living room where Vanya and Pogo were talking. You can see that she is shocked, as all your other siblings were.
“Pogo, who is this?”
“Go ahead dear, introduce yourself. Just like you practiced.”
You smile widely, “Hi I’m Y/n Hargreeves, I love your book. I’ve read it almost five times now.  You’re Vanya! I’ve been waiting to meet you! You look exactly like the picture on the back of the book! It really is a good book, I-”
“Y/n, take a breath. Let her get a word in.” Pogo chuckled, glad to see that you’re comfortable around Vanya.
“Oh, right. I’m sorry, father did always say I..tend to talk to much” You say looking down at your shoes. You didn’t notice the frown on both Pogo and Vanyas face.
“You...you read my book?” Vanya asked, still trying to figure out who you are.
“Yes, multiple times. It...well, besides the stories Mama and Pogo told me, this was the only way I got to know all of you.”
“Why didn’t you just come find us?”
“Oh well..I wasn’t really allowed outside”, you say glancing at Pogo, “ Father said the world and I weren’t ready for each other.”
“You mean, you’ve been alone...all these year?”
“No, not totally alone! I had Pogo, and Mama, and and father too. Plus there were the robots he built, although I did destroy them...and the books and and..”
“Y/n...that’s..that’s not..” Vanya stopped herself. She knew that this must be a sensitive subject for you. The way you listed everyone in your life was practiced. Like you’ve said it to yourself over and over again. And by the grim look on Pogos face, she can tell it wasn’t only you who was sensitive about this subject.
“Well, Y/n..perhaps you should go on in the kitchen and help your mother. Your siblings will be meeting here shortly, it would be nice if they had some snacks, don’t you agree?” Pogo says, forcing a smile at you.
“Oh! Okay” You beam, “ It was nice meeting you Vanya!”
And with that you scurry off into the kitchen, leaving Vanya and Pogo behind in silence.
“She’s been alone for...”
“For seventeen years. Yes”
“Pogo...”
“You know your father...once he made up his mind...there was little I can do.”
Vanya sighs and pats Pogo on the shoulder, “It’s good to see you Pogo.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You skip into the kitchen, seeing your mother humming at the sink. You walk up to her and notice that she’s cleaning the same plate over and over again.
“Hi momma!” you say suddenly
“Oh, hello dear. What are you doing in here?” Grace asks putting the plate in the drying rack.
Pogo said it would be nice to make snacks for my siblings” You ask, then feeling movement around your neck, “Oh and some cheese please.”
You forgot Despereaux was on your shoulder, its a wonder that no one has seen him yet.
“hmm snacks we can do.” Grace says with a smile. She goes to the fridge and pulls out some cheese.
“How about some cheese and crackers? Its simple.” she says, “ ans Despereaux here can have his fill as well”
You freeze, caught again by your mother, “ Thanks momma.”
You both giggle, and side by side you work on cutting the cheese and presenting the crackers. You feel a sense of calm wash over you. You usually do when you’re around your mother. She makes you feel safe.
“Ahem.”
You both turn to see Diego in the kitchen doorway.
“Diego dear, you startled us.” Grace said with a smile, “ Come help, we’re making you kids some snacks.”
He barely spares a glance at you.
“Pogo wanted me to come tell you that the meetings starting.”
“Oh, well go on darling, run along and I’ll bring out the snacks later.”
And with that she kisses your forehead and waves you away. She turns back to the  sink and starts humming again.
You glance back at Diego. He’s glaring at the wall and to be honest you’re surprised he even waited for you. You pick up Despereaux and put him on your shoulder again, and grab some grapes and cheese then stuff it in your skirt pocket. Then you walk up to Diego with a small smile.
He glances at you and scoffs, then walks away. You have to jog to catch up to him.
“You uh, you walk pretty fast” You say huffing a bit.
He doesn’t answer you, he just keeps walking in the same pace. You stay silent as well, the trip to the living room longer than you remember.
You finally make it, and you see all your siblings in the room, spread out. You take a seat next to Vanya. You smile at her and take a glance around the room. Luther is sat at the couch across from you and Vanya. Allison and Diego are sat on some chairs, and Klaus is at the bar.
The six of you sit in an awkward silence until Luther clears his throat.
“ So I guess we should get this started.” He says standing up, “ So I figured we can have sort of a memorial service. At the courtyard at sundown, say a few words. At dad’s favorite spot.”
You nod along and hear Alison speak up, “ Dad had a favorite spot?”
“Yeh at the oak tree, we used to sit out there all the time. None of you did that?” Luther asks.
“Oh yeah, after training” you chime in, causing the adults to look at you. You heard Diego scoff again and saw Luther quickly furrow his brow then smooth out his face again.
“Will there be refreshments?” Klaus asks walking out from behind the bar, “ Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner.”
He goes to take a seat next to you when Luther speaks up
“What? No, and put that out. You know dad didn’t allow smoking in here.”
You roll your eyes. If you had to choose one thing to hate about Luther, you’d choose his insistent need to always be on your Father's good side. He can be such a downer sometimes.
“Is that my skirt?”
You hadn’t even noticed Klaus in the skirt. If you had to be honest, it did really suit him. You let out a small laugh, hearing Klaus mention his “bits”.
“Listen up.”
Oh boy, you’ve heard this tone before. You really forgot how stern Luther could be.
“There’s still some important things that we need to discuss alright ?”
“Um Luther” you squeak out, “ what more is there to talk about? Its not like Father had many friends we can invite. And his only family is us...”
“Yeah. The kids right, what else is there to discuss?” Diego asks.
You turn to him in surprise, this is basically the first time he acknowledged you unprompted. You send him a smile that, as expected, he ignores.
Oh well, small steps.
“ The way he died.”
“ And here we go”
You scrunch your eyebrows, “the way he died?”
Klaus sits next to you, throwing an arm around your shoulder as Vanya speaks up,
“I don’t understand, I thought they said it was a heart attack...”
“A heart attack?” You ask, realizing that no one’s really did tell you how your father died..
You’re question gained a suspicious look from Luther and confusion from the rest.
“ Y/n...you didn’t know?” Alison asked gently.
“ no one told me...” You say quietly, feeling nervous from the sudden attention.
“Well, According or to the coroner it was.” Luther continues.
“Well wouldn’t they know?”
“Theoretically..”
“Theoretically??”
You don’t understand. You don’t understand why nobody told you how your father died. You don’t understand why everyone was acting weird. And you don’t understand why Luther was bringing this up.
You feel a hand on your forearm, breaking you from your thoughts. You turn your head to see Klaus.
“ you lost in space?” He whispers playfully, “ I would be too, having to listen to Detective Daddy issues over here.”
You let out a small chuckle and whisper back, “ well technically we all have daddy issues.”
This earned you a quiet laugh and a pat on the arm. Then Klaus went to drink whatever was in his cup. And you tuned in again.
“ i’m just saying at the very least something happened. ” Luther says looking around the room, “ The last time I talk to dad he sounded strange.”
“Oh quelle surprise!” Klaus gurgles through his drink.
The rest of the adult ignored him, only sparing him a quick glance.
“Strange how?” Alison asked, continuing the conversation.
“ he sounded on edge”, Luther said, “ told me to be careful who to trust.”
He then gave you pointed look. You looked back at him perplexed, not knowing why he looked at you that way.
“Luther,” Diego chimed in, “ he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles. ”
You frown at that statement. Sure your father was old and sort of eccentric, but his mind was sharp.
But come to think of it he was acting really weird the week before he died. He started telling you more about your siblings, about your place in the world and how you were meant to help it. He spent more time with you more than he ever has your whole life. He was, in his own way, nicer to you. Nicer in training, nicer on your free time, nicer in general. He took you out to the old oak tree more often, and just sat there with you, no lectures, no tirades, he just sat in silence.
It was almost like... like he knew he was going to die.
“I can’t just call dad in the afterlife and be like, “ hey dad can you stop playing tennis with Hitler really quick and take a quick call?’” Klaus says exasperatedly.
Oh right you forgot, he can talk to ghosts.
“ since when? that’s your thing.” Luther asks
“ i’m not in the right... Frame of mind!!”
“ You’re high?” Alison asks
“Yeah!” Klaus laughs, “ Who wouldn’t be listening to this nonsense. Right kiddo?”
He nudged you gently look at you for confirmation.
Your eyes widen and before you can even answer Diego cut you off,
“ Don’t bring her in this, she probably isn’t even know what being high is.”
You most certainly do. You’re not a child.
“ Look, just sober up this is important!” Luther demands , then continues on, “ and then there’s the missing monocle.”
“Who gives a shit about the missing monocle?” Diego mutters.
“ Father is missing his monocle?” You ask, getting ignored again.
“Exactly, it’s worthless.” Luther states, “ so whoever took it it must’ve been personal.”
The group starts to actually pay attention to him
“ Someone close to him, someone with a grudge.” He determines.
Wait...he’s not implying..
“Where are you going with this?” Klaus asks
“Oh, isn’t obvious Klaus?” Diego taunts, “ He thinks one of us killed dad.”
Luther grunts, but doesn’t deny his accusation.
The room goes silent as everyone tries to come to terms with what was revealed.
“ Luther...” you start sadly, feeling hurt and betrayed.
“You do?” Klaus asks in disbelief
“How could you think that?” Vanya chimes in
“ is it really that far-fetched?” Luther defends himself, “ I mean, it’s not secret how much you all hate him.”
“Luther.” Alison says sternly
“ That’s not fair accusation, there’s no evidence or anything...” you say defending your siblings, “ Besides, no one came home until today. Trust me, I’d know.”
But that just turned him on you
“ And where were you when he died?”
Your breath hitched, “ what?”
“ You’re the one who can heal people right? So where were you? Why didn’t you heal him?” He demands, “ Or did you let him die?”
“ Luther!” Alison shouts at him
You stay silent as you can’t think of anything to say. You already felt horrible about not being able to save your father. But yo hear it from Luther...
“I..” you start to say but get choked up. You feel the walls close up around you and the heavy gaze of these adults. You quickly stand up and run out of the room sniffing.
It was then that Luther realized what he just accused you of.
“Y/n wait..” he starts but you’re already gone by the time he spoke up. He turns to the rest of his siblings, facing their glares and betrayed looks.
“ Great job Luther.” Diego says sarcastically, “ Way to lead.”
And with that he walks out the room.
“That’s..that’s not what I’m saying”
“You’re crazy man. You’re crazy.” Klaus said getting up from his spot and grabbing his things. “Crazy”
“I..I wasn’t finished”
“ Okay, sorry I’m just gonna go get Y/n and have her help me murder mom.” Klaus sneers, “ You know, after I get her to stop crying, be right back.”
“That’s not what I was saying!” Luther says, “ I didn’t—“ he cuts himself off, seeing as everyone but Alison left.
Then she gets up to leave, but says this
“ That little girl has had it rough enough growing up here, she doesn’t need anymore from you.”
Then she walks out ignoring what Luther tries to say.
Leaving him all alone.
“That went well.”
Babysitting | F.H
Paring: Five Hargreeves X Fem!Reader
Summary: After a gone wrong mission Five(19) babysits his five year old niece, Claire.
To say Five was having a tough week would be putting it lightly. The male hadn’t felt so much pain and sorrow in his entire life. The apocalypse was awful. He couldn’t deny that but this– was ten times worse.
Five never expected for something to go so damn wrong. He never expected to have to go through this pain in his life, but here he is, lying in bed, not being able to sleep.
He hadn’t really slept since the incident. A couple of naps here and there but never a full night's rest. His mind was torturing him. All he heard were screams of agony and cries.
The apartment they shared went from such a warm atmosphere to shivering cold within just a day of change. Five hated it. He wanted to scream, to cry, to yell, to be angry, but he couldn’t– not anymore at least.
Five was lying in their shared bed when a doorbell rang. He sighed and shuffled out of bed. The male's appearance showed absolutely no care. Hair was skewed, eyes were red along with his cheeks, transparent trails of tears on his cheeks, and his under eyes dark.
Lazily the male opened the door to be met with his sister and his niece, “ Hey Five, I- I know this week has been challenging. “ Allison nervously began looking at her heartbroken nineteen-year-old brother.
“ But I’m going out with a guy, and Claire refused to go with anyone else. She wouldn’t let anyone babysit her except Uncle Fivey. “ Allison spoke, giving a soft smile, “ If you aren’t up to it, I’ll bring her to Klaus, but I figured why not give it a shot? “
Five looked down at his five-year-old niece, “ I’ll take care of her. You go. “ Five murmured, “ Are you sure? “ Allison whispered as Claire ran into the apartment sitting on the couch.
“ Mhm. “ Five hummed, and Allison embraced him, “ It's going to be okay. “ Allison spoke as she pulled away.
Five tried his best to smile, “ I know. Now you go have fun. I’ll take care of Claire. “
“ Thank you! “ Allison exclaimed as she walked away, and Five shut the door.
The brunette turned to look at the young girl on his couch and gave a subtle smile. Five shuffled towards the couch and took a seat beside her. Claire moved to sit in his lap.
“ Thank you, Uncle Five. “ Claire spoke as she hugged him, “ You’re welcome, princess. “ Five responded as tears flooded his eyes.
Five’s sniffles are what made Claire pull away and look at him, “ Why are you crying? “
“ It’s just been a tough week. But I’m glad I get to spend some time with you, princess. “ Five admitted as he wiped his tears, “ D- Did Auntie Y/n have something to do with it? “ Claire hesitantly asked, and Five nodded.
“ A- Auntie Y/n will never be back, princess. “ Five softly spoke as his eyes flooded with tears, “ W- What do you mean? “ The young girl asked as her eyes began to do the same.
Five sniffled again, “ S- She’s gone and never coming back. “ The male responded as he wiped a tear coming from Claire’s eye.
Claire bursted into tears, hugging Five as tight as she could. Her hands balled up the material of the hoodie he was wearing in the back. The hoodie was Y/n’s, her favorite hoodie, and she wore it everywhere.
Both relatives cried in each other’s arms, grieving for their lost someone. Claire was devastated, and Five felt so at fault for her death. Y/n was a ball of light, and she was the only one to keep Five sane through everything.
The apocalypse, the commission, saving the world, everything. She was there to keep his sanity. Y/n was there to hold him on the bad days, keep him smiling on the good days, and calm him on days where his temper couldn’t be controlled.
Now she was gone, and it was devastating for the whole family. Diego and Five, we’re definitely hit the most along with Claire now. Claire sniffled and pulled away from her Uncle, looking him in the eyes.
“ You’re the best Uncle ever. “ Claire mumbled, and Five smiled softly, “ Thank you. You’re the best niece ever. “ Five replied, holding her close to his chest.
Claire looked up at her crumbling uncle, “ Auntie Y/n would be proud of you. “ Claire began, and Fives eyes were still flooding, “ She knows you’re strong, and I’m sure she’s here with you. Uncle Klaus talks all the time about Uncle Ben being with him. Maybe Auntie Y/n is with you like Uncle Ben is with Uncle Klaus. “ Claire inferred.
“ I’m sure she is. “ Five whimpered, “ W- What happened? “ Claire questioned.
Five pulled Claire up from his lap and sat her directly on his lap, making her face him, “ Auntie Y/n and I had a mission to do. “ Five began, “ Like killing bad guys? “ Claire asked with a side smile.
Five chuckled, “ Yeah, killing bad guys. The mission went really well at first, we stuck to our plan, and everything was working out. “ The brunette male began as the tears came back, “ We thought we finished everyone off until when we started exiting the building, a shot went off. “
“ Th- The shot hit Y/n right in the chest, and I couldn’t get her to the academy in time because of how drained I was from the mission. “ Five cried, “ I- I’m so sorry, princess. “
Claire hugged her, crying Uncle tight, “ It’s not your fault. “ Claire comforted, “ That’s exactly what Auntie told me before she passed. “ Five muttered.
Claire sat there with her favorite Uncle as he cried his eyes out. Claire cried too, into his hoodie as they both held onto her. Five sniffled and lifted her off his lap.
“ Uncle Fivey, where are you going? “ Claire’s concerned voice asked, “ I’ll be right back, princess. “ Five responded as he walked into their shared bedroom.
Five walked into the bedroom and near her vanity, which held all her jewelry. There laid a necklace with her name on it, one she wore all the time. In fact, she never took it off. Carefully he took the gold necklace in his hands and walked out of the bedroom.
The door shut with a click, and Five plopped back down on the couch beside his tear stained niece, “ Come here. “ Five softly spoke as he patted his lap.
Claire crawled onto his lap again, “ This is a necklace that Auntie Y/n wore all the time. “ Five began as he showed her the chain, “ I think she would want you to have it. “ Five said as he put the necklace on his niece.
The young girl's hands immediately went to the nameplate necklace around her neck, looking at the gold cursive with her Aunties name on it.
“ Do you like it? “ Five asked nervously, and Claire embraced him tightly, “ I love it. Thank you, Uncle Fivey. “ Claire smiled brightly.
For the first time in a week, Five smiled genuinely, “ I’m glad. “
Claire snuggled upon him while Five played one of her favorite movies on the tv screen. Eventually, they both fell asleep, and when Allison didn’t get a response from knocking on the door, she opened it with her key.
The only light in the room was from the tv still playing, and Allison saw the two sleeping together. Her brother was finally getting sleep. Gently she picked up a blanket and covered both of them.
Allison wrote a note on the counter that she’d pick up Claire in the morning and then left the apartment. Five woke up the next morning with Claire on his chest. The male smiled and kissed her forehead before moving out from under her.
Quietly the Hargreeves boy began making breakfast, and once Five was almost done, Claire had woke up.
“ Uncle Fivey? “ Claire groggily called out from the couch, “ I’m here, princess. “ Five replied.
Claire got up from the couch and sat at one of the barstools around the island. Five placed her breakfast on a plate for the young girl. Claire began eating along with her uncle.
“ After we eat breakfast, I’m going to bring you back home, okay? “ Five said as he swallowed his food, “ Okay. “ Claire responded as she chewed.
Eventually, both of them finished eating, and they walked out to the car. Five drove to Allison’s house, which wasn’t far from their apartment but still far enough to drive. He walked his niece to the door.
Before he could knock, Claire spoke, “ Will you be okay? “
“ Of course I will, princess. “ Five responded, kissing her cheek.
Five knocked on the door, and Allison appeared, “ Hey Claire. How was Uncle Fivey’s house? “ Allison questioned as she picked up her daughter, “ It was good. He gave me this necklace. “ Claire replied as she showed Allison Y/n’s necklace.
Five stood sheepishly at the door, “ Did he now? “ Allison teased, “ Yeah! “ Claire verified.
Allison put her daughter down and let Claire run off into the house. Expectantly Allison stared at her brother while he stood at her door.
“ I never thought you’d give that away. We both know that was something Y/n treasured. “ Allison began baffled, “ I- I thought Claire could use it more than I would. I mean, I have tons of Y/n’s belongings. Claire doesn’t. I thought the necklace would be perfect. “ Five nervously stuttered.
Allison sighed and brought Five in for a hug, “ I’ll make sure she takes care of it. “ Allison muttered, “ Good. “ Five responded.
“ I’m gonna go home and maybe look through some of her stuff. Perhaps that’ll make me feel better. “ Five-spoke as he pulled away from the hug, “ Okay. If you need anyone don’t hesitate to call. “ Allison reminded.
“ I won’t. “ Five said, giving a reassuring smile.
Five drove back to the cold apartment and sighed. He kicked off his shoes and threw his keys on the counter. Five sat on the couch where he sat with Claire the previous day and just stared into nothingness.
“ Fuck. “
Headcanons for being Diego Hargreeves’ child
Diego Hargreeves x child!reader
warnings: knifes, blood, guns, death mentions, mental hospital
a/n:
prompt: anonymous: “Hi! Could you please write a “The Umbrella Academy” Diego Hargreeves x daughter reader headcanon? I always think Diego is such a overprotective softie dad ♥️♥️”
Tumblr media
deigo really said “?????”
how dad
but also he’d just the most loving dad anyone could ever ask for
✨it’s because he was never loved by his dad✨
“hi cutie, i love you, i love you, i love youuuuu”
he locked away all his weapons so that you couldn’t hurt yourself on them
but he always missed a few and he’d turn around and see you holding throwing knives and just FREAK OUT
“no, no, no, you may not have those! knives are for big boys like me, not babies”
“give back”
“‘give back?’ are you nuts?”
diego has conversations with lil you as if you know what the fuck he means dhshshhshs
as you got older, you became more interested in his “career”
“no, i dont care if you have powers or not! you have a bedtime, that means no vigilantism, you hear me?”
“if i say ‘no’ can i be a vigilante?”
“you know what? how about you clean up the gym for al so he doesn’t evict us?”
you did not sign up for this
you really wanted to meet your aunts and uncles, but you weren’t exactly sure they knew about you
i mean, you knew you had a cousin but everyone knew about her because aunt allison was a goshdarn celebrity
“dad, i want to meet the family!”
“no you don’t”
end of discussion
despite having a bedtime, you still watched movies late at night with your dad
he really liked marvel movies
“come on, that would never happen!”
“you come from a family of superpowered kids, a robot mom, and a monkey, and you’re upset about...a guy that shoots arrows?”
“maybe i am, what’re you gonna do about it?”
you ask about umbrella academy stories a lot, you your dad usually makes it about him
“and then i punched that guy in the face! and then i stabbed him in the leg because he was a dick! bet you’re friend’s dads arent as cool as me”
*yawning bc you’ve heard this story a million times*
you go to public school
you do have your dad’s last name
which occasionally gets recognized
“woah! wasn’t your dad a superhero?”
“i have no idea what youre talking about” :)
practicing your knife throwing while diego is away, him coming home to find his knifes stuck through various targets
so proud but he had to make sure you didn’t hurt yourself
you actually had to learn how to patch him up because he did come home a bit battered and bruised several times
“im okay, y/n. no need to freak”
“dad, there is literally blood dripping on the floor will you just sit down and stay still for five goddamn minutes?”
“woah, who the fuck taught you to cuss?”
watching the news at home when your grandfather was reportedly dead
you were actually very upset because you wanted to meet him so bad
even if he was a dick
your dad came home silent and you knew he knew
“you okay?”
“oh, yeah, im better than okay!”
finally getting the chance to meet your family
“who are you?” -allison
“im, uh, y/n. diego is my dad”
*jaw dropping*
and you know what? that happened four more times (plus ben but you didn’t get to see that)
“and you are?” -luther
“who’s the...the little one?” -klaus
“well, what do you know? diego’s a dad” -five
“don’t tell me that’s...no way” -ben
“you’re diego’s? wow, i can’t believe he didn’t tell anyone” -vanya
“i...i know who all of you are” -you
diego bragging about how perfect you are while everyone simultaneously rolls their eyes
“well, y/n, maybe one day we’ll schedule a playdate for you and claire” -allison
“‘playdate?’ how old do you think i am?...but yes i wanna meet her”
“god, you’re so much like diego, it’s unsettling”
you had been secretly training at al’s gym during your dad’s late night activities
so when trouble came your way, you were able to handle yourself pretty well
“where the hell did you learn that?”
“al showed me a few moves!”
“that old man? you’re kidding”
you met your grandmother, grace, who was tasked with keeping you safe at all times
you actually loved her sm
but there was something a bit off about her
besided the fact she was a robot
klaus snuck you out so that you two could have BoNdInG tImE
it wasn’t all bad
ben was a lil choked up that he got to meet one of his niblings
“they’re perfect”
“they just stabbed someone, buddy”
“who are you talking to?”
FIVE EVEN SCHEMED WITH YOU
“okay, y/n, i need you to curve something when i throw it, got that? right at that security guard”
“what are you throwing?”
“you’ll know when you see it, make your uncle five proud”
“IS THAT A GUN”
<3 family
running into patch!!
“hey, kid, i just saw your dad. i thought i told you to handcuff him to the radiator when you were away?”
“yeah, well, he wouldve chewed his hand off so here we are”
that was the last time you saw her :/
well, your dad was now a wanted man
“what happened to your arm?”
“no”
you actually didn’t expect this family reunion to go south like this
wait—yes you did
vanya has powers????
“i thought vanya was the one without powers?”
“yeah. so did we.”
diego straight up did not want you anywhere near that
but you, again, were his child and also fuck authority you do what you want
the vibe is almost getting shot several times
by hazel, cha cha, and “commission” guys?
going 2 ur auntie’s concert 😌✨
“y/n, hide in the bathroom and stay there until i come get you”
“dad, i love you, but no”
“y/n, i love you too, but yes”
“no”
“yes”
“NO”
“YES”
you won
but in the end (or not so much) you time traveled to...1961?
without any of your family
“this is...this is not good”
understatement of the year(s)
what was a kid like you gonna do in dallas, texas in 1961
no seriously, what
it was rough, but you managed to survive on your own
and open a paper in 1963 to find a mugshot of your dad
“son of a—”
visiting dad! (two years later)
“y/n? oh my god, y/n! shit, i missed you so much! why do you look different? you’re bigger, oh god. how long have you been here?”
“2 years, dad. you?”
his hair was so LONG
“2 months”
“christ, that’s it?!”
“i have to stop jfk from being assassinated”
“what makes you think that’s a good idea???”
“its the right thing to do, wanna help?”
“shit, i guess. as long as i dont end up here”
“no promises, people in the 60’s are crazy”
diego: 👁👄👁
you: 👀
running into five on the street soon after
“uncle five?”
“no time to talk”
“okay, asshole? i’ve been here for 2 years and you dont care?”
“two years, huh? i spent 45 years in a post apocalyptic world as a 13 year old and beyond”
“i didn’t say it was a competition, dude. you kinda dropped us all at different times. at least, me and dad. he—”
“is trying to kill lee harvey oswald, i know. come with me”
finally running into your other aunts and uncles, who were so excited to see you
you ran into their arms and they picked you off the ground and you felt closer than ever after only knowing them for 10 days
dad broke out
lila too
“im your new mom!”
“you’re what?”
diego dragged you along with him almost everywhere
he had missed you so much, but he keeps forgetting you kinda grew up without him for a while longer
meeting grandpa :)
“a grandchild, huh? how unfortunate”
“bitch”
“what did you just call me?”
“a bitch.”
your dad and basically the entire table trying to hold back laughter
reggie was stunned
cold hearted just like him <3 he didn’t know if he was offended or proud
this is so confusing
diego just disappeared off the face of the earth
and assassins were on your case
“the goddamn swedes are back oh shittt im gonna die”
“y/n, just curve their bullets”
“it’s not as easy as it sounds, klaus!”
you were doomed
theres too much to go over
apparently you died on a farm????
and then you didn’t??????
and your dad was almost apart of the commission
“hey, you okay, y/n?”
“i would like to take a nap please”
“yeah, me too”
“me three!” -klaus
yeah it was never that simple 😌💕 the end
MASTERLIST REQUEST RULES
Tumblr media
There is a small hut next to a crystal clear lake. Birds are singing high up in the trees. Wind caresses the grass and flowers. The warm sun is shinning beautifully over the water and through the windows inside the hut.
A happy family lives in there. A mother, so astonishingly pretty and lovely. A father like no other. A little boy growing up in this natural place. And another family member is on their way, only a few months away from opening her eyes.
“It‘s okay. Take your time, Santiago.“
Diego, the father sits with his son on the carpet of the living room, holding a book in his hands. His son is staring at the words and opens his mouth. But no words leave Santiagos mouth. The young boy is too scared to stutter again or misspell a word. He doesn‘t want to disappoint his parents.
“Your daddy had problems with stutter too, Santi. You don‘t have to be ashamed“, his mother enters the living room with a plate full of cookies. Slowly and carefully, she sits down on the floor. One hand on her back because it slightly hurts because of the baby bump.
“Just picture the word in your mind“, Diego gives the advice and reaches an arm over his son and around his wifes shoulders. They look at each other with smiles on their lips. Santiago discreetly reaches for a cookie and stuffs it inside his mouth. Before (Y/n) can tear the plate out of his grasp, he runs away. A giggle fills the living room.
“I‘m not getting up. It was difficult enough to sit down“, (Y/n) says exhausted and takes a deep breath. Her husband starts massaging her shoulders, followed by kiss to her right cheek.
The doorbell interrupts their shared moment. With a sigh Diego gets up but the door gets already ripped open by Santiago. His fathers heart stops beating for a moment because he‘s afraid something bad will happen to his beloved son. As quick as possible, he runs to the front door where his siblings await him with shocked expressions.
“Daddy. They w-want to talk t-to yo...you“, Santiago stutters and hugs his fathers leg. The strange people make him nervous.
“Daddy?“, the biggest one, Luther, asks with raised eyebrows.
“Santi, go to your mom“, Diego tells his son without taking his eyes off his siblings. They look as surprised as himself. Santiago runs inside and to his mother.
“How did you find me?“, Diego asks with a grumpy voice and closes the door behind himself. He wants to protect his family from his adoptive one. Not that he believes they might try hurting them but better safe than sorry.
“We installed a tracker at your car. But that‘s not important anymore. You‘ve got a kid? Why didn‘t you...“, Luther explains and takes a step forward, now face to face with his brother because Diego is standing three steps higher.
“No! Stop that talk, Luther. All of you will leave my property right now!“, the young father almost screams and as if to underline his message, he raises one of his knives.
His siblings want to turn around but that moment the front door opens again. (Y/n) stands in the door frame with her big belly and Santiago on her hip. She widens her eyes at the sight of the strange people. Immediately, she knows who they are. Diego told her about his adoptive brothers and sisters with powers just like him.
“You have a pregnant girlfriend too?“, Five asks almost hysterical and can‘t take his eyes off the female standing there.
“Actually, she is my wife“, Diego reveals and holds up his left hand where he wears a golden ring.
“Why didn‘t you invite them in yet?“, (Y/n) asks while she lets her son down. Santiago walks to his father and stares at the knife in his hand.
“Because they aren‘t welcome“, Diego grumbles and hides the knife before his wife can see that he had one. She doesn‘t like when he has those sharp things close to their son.
“They are your siblings. Come inside. We have fresh made cookies“, (Y/n) says with a sweet smile on her lips and holds the door open. Hesitantly, each sibling walks past Diego and inside the little house. Every sibling except Five. He stops in front of his brother and looks up at him in slight anger.
“Why didn‘t you tell us about all this? We‘re your family too“, the young looking boy who is actually over fifty-years-old asks.
“Because with each one of you a problem follows. I didn‘t want that for my family. I‘m sorry“, Diego justifies himself and even though his voice is steady, Five is sure that his brother slightly regrets that he never told them about his wife and son.
Five turns aside and walks to the front door, smiling at (Y/n). Santiago follows him, excited to meet his aunts and uncles.
“Diego“, the pregnant female whispers as Diego wants to enter their home too. He looks at her with an unreadable expression. “It‘s time for them to meet their nephew.“
Together they enter the hut and when they arrive in the living room Santiago is already sharing the cookies with his aunts and uncles.
“What‘s your name, sweety?“, Klaus asks as he takes a cookie from the plate, the young boy is holding in his small hands.
“S-San...t-tiago. Santiago“, the boy answers and because all the visitors have their cookies, he runs to his parents.
“Hey, buddy“, Diego kneels down and tousles Santis dark hair. His siblings watch their brother smile at his son as if he is the world to him. And in truth, together with (Y/n) Santiago is the most important person in Diegos life.
“T-Tea. Let‘s m-ma..ke some tea“, his son suggests and takes his fathers hand. Santiago pulls Diego towards the kitchen.
The Hargreeves siblings must realize that their family got bigger. Besides, their usually grumpy and knife throwing brother is soft around his family.
Unicorn’s Jail (Diego Hargreeves x Fem! reader)
A/N: I’M BAAAAACK -Val
Words: 915
Request:  Hi! Could you maybe write some Diego fic where his siblings catch him visiting his girlfriend (who they didn’t know even existed) who has a little girl who is already attached to Diego? (Like, she already calls him Dad or somethin
Tumblr media
"Di, can we play again?" asks the little girl with a pout.
"We already played six times, Jane,” answers Diego with a smile.
"But, the last time you cheated," She points out.
"Nu-hu! It wasn't my fault that you fell into the unicorn jail.”
"You took money from me, it was your fault!” She squeals and Diego laughs at her tantrum. "I'll tell mom you were mean to me if you don't play again!”
"Enough threats, little cheater,” he tries to scold her, but in the end he helps her put the pieces together again.
"I see that the time for revenge has come," says Y/N, sitting on the floor next to Diego.
"This time I'll win and I'll be able to buy you nice things, mommy," Jane boasts.
"But, it’s my duty to buy her nice things, otherwise she’ll leave me for someone else," Diego says pouting.
The girl is silent for a few seconds.
"Okay, we can both buy her nice things,” She agrees.
The game is interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. Y/N gets up leaving the two participants.
“Di…”
"Yes?"
"If I let you win, are you going to buy my mother a wedding ring?"
The question takes him by surprise.
"Do you want me to buy it?"
"Yes, I want to see her in a white princess dress.”
He laughs. Y/N's voice is heard in the distance talking to other people.
"It's more complicated than that, Janie."
“Is it because you don't have money? I can lend you…”
"It's not just about money,” He laughs. "I have to be sure your mother wants to marry me.”
“She wants to, I overheard her talking to one of her friends. But she said she was also nervous for me.”
Diego raises an eyebrow.
"And what exactly did she say?”
"She said she could imagine a nice wedding with you, but she wasn't sure if I want that too, because you would be my new dad.”
"Don't you want me to be?" He asks nervously.
"I don't know, I've never had one,” She raises her eyes. "But, I could call you dad.”
Diego's heart flutters and a gentle wave of warmth hits his chest.
“That'd be great.”
"But look who we have here!” says the voice of a man entering the room.
The tender moment is replaced by Diego's fear as he sees his siblings enter one by one.
"What are you doing here?" he gets up quickly, accidentally stepping on the board.
"Watch out!" Jane complains.
"Awwww, can I play?" Klaus says sitting on the other side "I love unicorns…”
"Who are you?"
"I'm your favorite uncle Klaus, honey,” He introduces himself.
The girl looks at Diego for help, but he’s lost too.
"I think number two is about to faint," says Five, sitting in an armchair.
Allison, Luther and Ben sit in the other chairs around the board, Vanya joins the game and Diego takes his girlfriend's hand to pull her into the kitchen.
"What's going on?"
"You should calm down…” The woman tries. “I invited them to hang out and maybe order a pizza.”
"And why didn't you tell me? I would have prepared…”
“No, you would have said no. Come on, Diego. I haven't seen them in a long time and they’ve never met Jane. I spoke to Allison last night and we planned it. Everyone wants to know her!”
Diego sighs and scratches the back of his neck. He knows that her intentions are good and her words are true. He wishes he had time, but there’s no going back.
“Fine" he huffs and she hugs him.
"Don't be mad, D.”
He laughs slightly and reciprocates the hug.
“I can't be mad at you.”
They both return to the living room. Now Five is playing and laughing maliciously with several pink bills in his hands.
"I'll leave you all broke," He says.
"How did you do that? Are you cheating?" Jane frowns.
“It's called strategy, kid. It’s not cheating.”
“Five, you can't take my spa! I have many clients waiting!” Klaus complains.
“Give back the spa to Uncle Klaus!” scolds the girl.
"I can't, I bought it.”
“Five…” tries Vanya, but he ignores her.
Jane pouts and crosses her arms when she sees how Klaus is still sad, but looks up and realizes that Diego and his mom are watching them.
"Daddy, tell him to give it back! He's cheating!” She says, pointing at Five.
The two adults are static at the words.
Y/N's eyes water and she turns to see Diego's reaction.
"I'm not cheating and accusing me with your daddy will not save you from poverty,” Five replies bluntly.
“You're bad.”
Diego shakes his head and walks over to Jane's side, who hugs him by the neck. He clears his throat.
“Don't worry honey. We’ll help Uncle Klaus get his spa back.”
"Yes! And we’ll put Five in the unicorn jail!” She celebrates.
"Yes!" Klaus claps. "Ben, help me, I want to expand my franchise…”
"You still haven't got your business," Ben replies and sits down next to Klaus.
"I didn't know she called him dad…” says Allison, approaching Y/N, who looks at the whole scene with tenderness.
“It's the first time.”
"Five, if you keep up like this, you'll end up in jail," warns Luther.
"I don't need your advice," growls Five.
"You will go to jail for being rude,” says Jane and Diego laughs.
"I wish that was the case in real life…”
𝐈 𝐔𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬.. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐞
Part 1: Pretty Please With A Dog On Top! | Request
Five Hargreeves x Niece!Reader
WC: 975
Tumblr media
The day after the funeral, you has to return to the mansion again. You scooped up your dog again, getting into the car. Your father drove to the house again, preparing for the worst based on the encounter yesterday. You arrived and walked into the house. Walking in, you saw the familiar faces of your uncles and aunt. But there was one unfamiliar face, it was a boy who seemed to be a few years older than you. He was dressed in an academy uniform and your father seemed shocked to see him. You were confused, who was he? He looked at you, then up at Diego.
"Huh, would you look at that, Batman's got a kid."
All your uncles and your aunt seemed in shock to see the boy, not like they didn't know him, but as if he wasn't supposed to be here.
"Five?! How are you here?!"
What was going on? You looked up to your father in concern. He instantly caught onto your nervousness and sent you into the living room to go play with your dog. Playing with the dog always calmed you down so you sat down on a comfy chair and began to play.
~*~*~*~*~
A few minutes later, the boy walked in. He was slightly intimidating, but as he walked over to you his features softened. Maybe you were crazy but you could swear there was the slightest hint of a smile on his face.
"Hey kid, what's your name?"
You felt slightly afraid of the boy but murmured a meek '(Y/N)'. He smiled at you, complimenting your name, trying to comfort you and help with your shyness. He introduced himself as Five, your other uncle, you furrowed your brows. How could he be your uncle? The dog began pawing at Fives wrist, he usually hated animals, especially dogs, but yours was different. He also usually hated kids, but you were also an exception. He was very fond of you, finding your shyness adorable. He also loved the dog, though he'd never admit any of it.
In front of his siblings, he'd pretend he didn't care for you or the dog. He'd rarely take notice of either you in front of the family, but when you were alone with him he would go soft. Sometimes, your dad or uncles or aunt would catch a sneak peek of Five's bond with you and found it adorable.
~*~*~*~*~
"Hey Fivey, what's your deal with Diego's kid anyway, got a soft spot for her?" Klaus snorted. He had noticed how caring Five was towards you, opposing his usual cold behaviour. Five scoffed, of course he doesn't. How could they possibly think that?!
"You certain you don't at least have a tiny soft spot for the girl?" Five shook his head. "So you're telling me you don't care an ounce about her?"
"Well... I usually hate kids but she's fine I guess."
~*~*~*~*~
You began spending a lot of time at the Hargreeves' mansion. By spending more time at the mansion, you spend more time with your favourite uncle Five - joint first favourite with Klaus or course. Sometimes everyone would get too caught up in their own business and you'd be left at home alone. Well, not entirely alone, Five would always try be there as often as possible to ensure you'd not be alone. But, he also liked when you were alone because he got to be his true self with you. One day, everyone had been too wrapped up in their own stuff and they'd forgotten about you. As usual, you sat in your spot in the living area. Five peeked his head through the doorway, smiling as his eyes landed on his favourite niece. He walked over to your spot, your eyes lighting up when you saw him coming over.
"Hey kid, you all alone again?"
You nodded somberly, sad that you'd been forgotten again. Five scoffed in disbelief. He couldn't believe everyone could just forget about you. He made a mental note to berate your father for doing so and not finding someone to care for you. Heck, you could've been hurt, and there wouldn't have been anyone there to care for you! Five said a quick 'C'mon' as he scooped you into his arms, taking you to the kitchen.
He sat you on the counter and began to make what he always made during his Uncle and Niece bonding sessions. A pot of coffee for him, a mug of hot chocolate for you and two fluffer-nutter sandwiches for the two of you. He set down all the ingredients, inviting you to come help him make them. You giggled as you got up onto the stepstool, feeling your puppy prodding your ankles with his cold nose.
Five guided you on how to make the hot chocolate, letting you put the marshmallows and whipped cream onto it. Not that the event went down without getting whipped cream everywhere, usually Five would be annoyed at this behaviour, but it was you so of course he didn't mind. He laughed slightly as your puppy licked all the whipped cream off the floor and smeared it all over itself. He always made the best hot chocolate, just for you. Most people had never tried Five's hot chocolate, he liked to say it was reserved for him. However, after meeting you, he expanded the circle to the two of you.
He made the sandwiches and set everything on the table. Placing a bowl on the floor for the dog, both of you began to talk. Well, you began to talk really. Five liked listening. Unbeknownst to the two of you, the rest of your family had now returned home and was now watching your interaction from the doorway. They knew Five had to have a soft spot somewhere in his closed-off heart. Who knew that soft spot was reserved for a small girl and a puppy?
(A/N) Sorry this is short but I had lots of fun writing it <3
❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
You were used to silence. Diego had never been one for staying home doing nothing. Sometimes he would leave you a note that said not to wait up for him if you were lucky, but you never had the pleasure to get home from work and have your boyfriend there.
Ex-boyfriend now. He had found himself someone else. Years had passed for him when a mere day went by for you.
You had been a fool, thinking things would finally go your way. Ever since Five disappeared, life proved you time after time how unlucky you were.
Nonetheless, you understood. No one had understood Diego better than you had, it was the reason why your relationship had lasted.
Diego hadn’t been a dick about it. He offered to give you time, reminded you to get closer to your best friend, and apologized for something that hadn’t been his fault.
He had said, “Talk to Five.” If only it was that easy. Five hadn’t visited you yet — according to Luther, who had driven Diego to your place so he could pack his things and introduce you to his new girlfriend, Five needed to take care of something first.
It was no secret that you would do anything for Five. Certainly not to Diego who many times had reproached you for missing his brother so intensely to the point of neglecting him.
You loved Diego, how couldn’t you? But you had never been capable of hiding how much you missed Five. Just like you weren’t capable of hiding how much seeing him with someone else hurt.
He had promised he would never leave and days later you had watched him carry his belongings to the doorstep with another woman by his side.
Now you were forced to fall asleep in a silent bedroom at a house too big for one person.
Woken up by incessant knocking on the front door, you grumpily walked down the stairs. Every single one of your acquaintances knew your schedule was hectic so you weren’t expecting any of them.
Swinging the door open, you were greeted by a tall man. His green eyes shined as he buried his hands in his pockets.
You didn’t understand why he was expecting you to speak first, or how a man could have such soft-looking hair.
Shaking the latter thought off, you asked, “Can I help you?”
“It’s me.”
“That... doesn’t answer my question.”
He sighed loudly. “I’m Five, you idiot.”
You crossed your arms. “Oh, yeah? And I’m a Nobel Laureate.”
“Ask me something only Five Hargreeves would know.”
You glanced past his shoulder, making sure there was no one nearby. “What’s the last thing I told you before you left back when we were kids?”
He lowered his head. “That you needed me.”
”You can’t attempt traveling through time! What if something goes wrong?”
Five shook his head. “I’m not stupid. Everything will go smoothly.”
You weren’t stupid either. Many things could go wrong. He could get lost, he could ruin the timeline, he could exhaust himself to the point of death...
“Five, please. I need you here with me,” your voice broke.
You couldn’t decipher the look he gave you. A blue flash of light blurred with your tears.
You dropped your arms and stepped to the side to let him in. “Why didn’t you use your powers?”
“I didn’t want to startle you,” he yelled from the kitchen.
You followed the sound of his voice. Some things never changed, it seemed. He was hovering over the coffee machine, tapping his thumbs against the counter.
“Since when do you care about scaring me?”
“Since my stupid brother taught you self-defense.”
You rolled your eyes, tugging the fridge door open. “You’re a trained assassin.”
“We both know I would never hurt you.”
Well, thank God. You would’ve been dead decades ago if he was willing to hurt you more than he had already.
Changing the subject, you poured yourself a glass of orange juice. “How come you look like that now?”
“Should I be offended?”
“You looked like a teen a few days ago,” you defended yourself.
Five’s semblance softened. “I guess one of the things we did to mess the timeline worked in my favor.”
“You ruined the timeline?”
“A little bit.”
Sensing he didn’t want to talk about it, you dropped bread into the toaster.
He offered you some coffee, but you declined. The last thing you needed was getting more anxious than you were already.
Five tilted his head. With a sigh, he put the cup down and opened his arms. “Come here.”
He didn’t have to tell you twice. His willingness to give affection didn’t come easy, and your eagerness for his attention had always been constant.
Arms around him, you rested your head on his shoulder. Five rubbed your tense back with one hand, pulling you closer with his other arm.
You squeezed him tight, trying your best to keep your tears in.
❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
Five had always persuaded you to do anything he wanted. Never something that would put you in danger although on some occasions you had gotten hurt by accident, but always things you wouldn’t do if it weren’t for him.
Attending one of his family reunions was one of those things. But he had asked nicely.
He had said it would be something casual, you wouldn’t have to stay for too long. He just needed someone beside him to ground him in case a fight broke out.
Once you were ready, he dropped the book he had been reading onto your coffee table and offered his hand.
You took it without even thinking about it, giving him a squeeze to assure him you were ready to teleport.
Your stomach flipped at first. An underlying tickling appeared in the lower area of your abdomen. His powers had always had that effect on you, and you had missed the sensation deeply.
Not having visited The Academy since Five disappeared, you found yourself in awe of how little it had changed.
“How are you not throwing up right now?”Allison asked, pulling you into a hug.
“She had enough training as a kid,” Five answered for you, carefully dropping your hand.
Klaus giggled. “I forgot you two sneaked everywhere together.”
As you parted from Allison, you shared a look with Five. You had always thought it was a well-kept secret that every time you felt sad or Five had a nightmare he would sneak into your room or sneak you into his.
You hugged Klaus next, then Vanya. Luther was in the kitchen, Diego and Lila in the living room.
Greeting your ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend as warmly as you were capable of, you took a seat next to Five.
Seeing Diego with Lila didn’t hurt. Not like you imagined it would. His demeanor had changed from what you could tell, he looked calmer, happier. You were glad, the people you loved and their happiness were important for your own wellbeing.
In fact, you were more than glad. The Hargreeves siblings seemed to have gotten closer, their bickering was only that now — Luther was more open, warmer; Vanya participated in conversations, finally smiling around her family.
Five looked comfortable, too. Laughing loudly at Klaus’ antics. His eyes shined as he turned to look at you, laughter still intact. You couldn’t help but join him.
“Five,” Allison called for her brother, “my car broke. Can you take me home?”
He searched for your acknowledgment and held your gaze, twisting his mouth upward. You blinked slowly, assuring him you could handle it. Five gave you a sharp nod, standing up in a quick motion.
Diego refilled your glass. “You’ve got a shot with Five now...”
You let out a shaky breath. “Don’t tell him anything, please.”
“He deserves to know.”
You knew he did. His shock when he found out you were daring Diego had kept you up for days.
Five’s arrival saved you from saying anything else. He fixed his hair as he sat back down next to you, glaring at Diego who had still been staring at you, waiting for a good explanation.
You didn’t have one.
❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎・・・・・❖︎
The TV in the living room was on when you got home from work. Laying on the couch, hands tucked under his cheek, you found Five fast asleep.
He hadn’t told you he would visit. He must’ve dropped by impromptu.
Covering him with the blanket he had tossed to the side, you muted the TV. He would probably need the light when he woke up to go to the bathroom.
He grabbed your hand before you could leave. Wincing, you whispered, “Go back to sleep.”
“How was work?” He sleepily asked.
“We can talk in the morning. Get some rest.”
“Did you have a good day?”
Desperate for Five to get a few more hours of sleep, you nodded.
He didn’t let go of your hand, curling up on the couch. Whispering his name, you shook your wrist so he’d loosen his grip.
He mumbled something, but you didn’t understand what it was. His face was red, eyes glued to the ceiling.
“Mmmh?” you prompted him to say it again.
“I needed you with me too.”
You kneeled on the rug, resting your chin on the arm of the couch. “You could’ve taken me with you.”
Scoffing, Five shifted on the couch to sit up. He let go of your hand, burying his fingers in his hair, tossing the dark locks to one side as he gripped them.
“You don’t know what you’re saying. You weren’t there. You didn’t watch everyone you love lying dead at your feet.”
“I had to lose you,” you reminded him, “and my parents in the span of two years.”
He whistled by mistake as he inhaled.
You didn’t let him speak. “I lived through hell staying with my uncle, you know how much he hated me. And I hated college but it was better than staying with people who blamed me for my mother’s death.”
“And then you chose Diego.”
“What does Diego have to do with anything?!”
“The last thing you said to me was that you needed me, but you still moved on.”
Calling it moving on was an insult. You had been willing to put your life on hold in case he came back, to be alone until he miraculously appeared one day and filled the void.
That was what lead you to Diego. Both of you were aware of the reason why you attracted the other — it hurt at times, not having your partner all for yourself, but you couldn’t complain when you weren’t completely his.
“You think I didn’t wait for you?” You chuckled bitterly. “Five, I swore we would get married and have a perfect life. But everything is easier at thirteen.”
He mocked you, “Oh, and you thought Diego would give you the perfect life you wanted?”
“No!” you yelled. “I just... I woke up, I guess.”
Five turned to his side to look at you. “Fall asleep again.”
“Five...”
“Do it. I’ll make it right this time.”
Your voice betrayed you by breaking. “What if you have to disappear again?”
He squeezed his eyes closed. For once, Five didn’t have an answer to your inquires, not even a sarcastic one.
You sniffed.
“Hey, hey,” he cooed, placing his hands on top of yours. “Don’t cry, please. I hate seeing you like this.
You twisted your hands so your palms would be against his, fingers finding their way between his nimble ones. “I don’t want to go through all of that again.”
“I’ll take you with me if I have to,” he promised, dropping his head on top of yours.
He just wanted to stay there, inhaling the scent of your perfume. Five felt safe with your hands in his, actually safe — he could close his eyes and not worry about horrendous flashbacks,
You were there with him, not dead on the ground next to his siblings. He caressed the back of your hand with his thumb, drawing circles on your soft skin.
“My knees hurt.”
Laughing softly, he moved away from you so you could stand up.
Five followed you with his eyes, twisting his body as you sat down beside him, rubbing your palms against your knees.
You gazed at him with watery eyes, bringing your hand to his face, tracing his jaw. God, you used to annoy him when you were kids, telling him he looked ugly every time he clenched it.
Smiling at the memory, you felt the movement of his muscles as he mirrored your smile.
“You still have dimples,” you told him, removing your hand so you could look at him properly.
He hurried to take your hand again, palm against the back of yours as he gripped it.
“Aren’t you tired?”
“You’re avoiding giving me an answer,” he observed, grip tightening around your hand.
You shook your head effusively. “It’s no secret I would follow you to the end of the world. Literally.”
“But this...” Five breathed out, “this is more than that, (Name).”
“You can’t even say it,” you mused, “and here I am, willing to give you everything I have and more.”
With his free hand, he cupped your cheek. “Don’t be stupid. It’s mutual, and I have no problem with expressing the way I feel.”
“What did you mean by ‘more than that’, then? Do you fear for my safety?”
“No.” He quickly rectified, “I do worry about your safety, but I’m capable of keeping both of us safe. I meant... things beyond being in danger and getting worried. That’s easy for us.”
You nodded against his warm palm, sensing he had more to say.
”I want normal things for us, good things. I don’t know how well I will do. I need you to know that, to be okay with me.”
It was like seeing that thirteen-year-old again, desperate to have the approval of his authority figure.
“I’ve been in love with you since I was ten,” you confessed through a breathy laugh. “You were insufferable, but I didn’t care. I’ve always been okay with you, even when you were an asshole to me.”
“I was trying to get your attention.”
“I know that now.”
His eyes, full of emotion, focused on yours. You didn’t care if he wanted to make sure you weren’t lying, taking offense would’ve been dismissing everything he had gone through.
His eyes fell onto your lips. “Should I...”
“If you want.”
Bumping your nose as he dove in, he caught your lips between his in a clumsy kiss. You held the back of his head with your free hand, pulling him closer.
He let you guide him, getting more confident as he went on. You tilted your head to the other side, sliding your hand off his to place it on his shoulder.
Before pulling away, you gave him short kisses. Feeling him smile against your lips had to be the best thing in the world.
Suddenly, he remembered, “Hey, did you eat anything for dinner?”
“No...” Before he could chastise you or complain, you asked, “Do you want a sandwich?”
“Sure.”
You gave him a final short kiss. “Pick a movie, yeah? Whichever you want.”
“God, I love you.”
Five’s love for you had only grown throughout all those years. Thinking about the time you had spent together as kids kept him going; it had been a bittersweet coping mechanism.
Nothing compared to his love for you growing with you there.
He didn’t know how he had survived without the swelling in his chest upon watching you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from across the room while he waited for you to press play on the first movie he found.
He only knew he would never let go of it.
Paranoid (Supernatural x The Umbrella Academy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crossover
Summary: Things go wild when Y/N Winchester and Diego Hargreeves tries to make an announcement for their families.
Pairing: Winchester x sister!reader, Diego Hargreeves x reader
Title Reference: Paranoid x Jonas Brothers
Word Count: 1.6k words
Warning: mention of the dead, mention of violence, swearing
✤  ·  ✤  ·  ✤  ·  ✤  ·  ✤
It was a small tradition that we'd all gather together and have dinner at the Hargreeve's mansion. Allison, Vanya, Sam and I would all cook together, usually something different every time just to see if the others would like the food.
Ever since Diego and I have started dating, Dean and Sam had sort of used this dinner idea to watch us. "I need to keep an eye on this boy" is what Dean would usually say, even though he wouldn't even see him the other times I'm alone with him. Didn't see the full logic in that but I guess it made him feel somewhat safe.
The Winchesters having dinner with The Hargreeves was always merry and cheerful. Everyone had smiles on their faces, enjoying the food and the company.
We'd usually share stories of what happened; Dean, Sam and I would talk about our hunts. The Hargreeves would talk about which take downs they had, usually bragging about who had the most arrests within the week.
Everytime this topic had been brought up, we would say that we needed to collaborate and work together. Diego, Five and Vanya had joined us on hunts every now and then. The rest were too chicken to face the monsters in the real world.
This time however, these fun talks didn't happen. The dinner table instead felt intense; Dean wouldn't stop staring at Diego, Sam was upset his dish didn't turn out better than he expected. Vanya had not slept at all practicing on her violin, Allison stayed up all night learning the recipe for today and perfecting it.
Everyone was just in a terrible mood and now with all the grouchiness, I wasn't able to deliver the news that I was hoping to tell everyone at the dinner table.
I was already nervous enough to say I was pregnant, with everyone in a bad mood I don't even know what to add to make my announcement even merrier. Well, I doubt nothing would make it better; I just knew everyone was going to freak out, especially my brothers.
Dean eyed me as I played with my food, biting his bottom lip and observed me like he always did when I was with Diego. 'You barely ate your food, 'Y/N.'
'Uh, yeah sorry.' I answered quickly trying to force myself to look unsuspicious. 'Just not really hungry.'
'Can I have your plate then?' Luther asked with his mouth full, pointing at my dinner.
'Knock yourself out.' He snatched the plate that was in front of me, digging into it as if he hadn't eaten for days.
Five cocked his head, I swear he had mind-reading powers too because he was always up to something. 'Diego, you're quiet as well.'
'Just enjoying my meal.' Diego smiled with the fork still in his mouth.
Sam looked to his left then right, 'What's going on? Am I missing something?'
'I'm just tired, I don't know about the rest of you guys.' Vanya yawned, slowly eating her food.
'Same, actua-'
'No way!' Klaus screamed interrupting me as I was about to talk to Vanya. He talked and blabbed a lot but I haven't heard him talk so loudly until now. 'You're kidding me right?'
Five sighed, 'Didn't we tell you to stop bringing your dead friends to the dinner table?'
'No, no, no, no, no. This isn't just some random friend. It's Ben!'
Everyone groaned at the same time, tired of hearing Klaus bringing Ben up whenever it was convenient for him. During important hunt meetings, he would cast him out of the group. Whenever Klaus had excuses, he loved using his brother's name to pin him for whatever that was happening at the time.
Of course Ben couldn't even defend himself. Poor boy.
'I know, I know. I sound like I'm lying right now but I PROMISE I'm not.' Klaus whined, trying to convince us that he was telling the truth.
'I'm tired of hearing your bullcrap Klaus. I can't even imagine what Ben has to hear from you every time you're not around us.' Luther commented.
'You guys would want to hear this though! Oh, please please please.'
'What is it about?' Allison questioned Klaus.
Dean shook his head, 'Really Allison? Why did you encourage him?'
'Oh, Dean. You would definitely want to hear this.'
Five rolled his eyes and sighed, not even questioning his brother. Klaus kept on yapping about how he wanted to tell us this huge gossip that he heard from Ben.
'Why don't you just get to the point then, Klaus?' Diego finally said what everyone else was thinking.
'Are you sure you want me to tell them about your business?' Klaus grinned, clearly enjoying this "big secret" he had.
Diego shrugged, 'I don't really have anything to hide. I love you brother, but I doubt you know anything about my personal life.'
'Okay then.' Klaus cleared his throat, standing from his seat with a huge grin on his face. 'Y/N is pregnant.'
Dean spat water from his mouth, covering it as some landed on my forehead since I sat across from him. Sam made a face, staring at me to see my reaction.
'That's the dumbest lie I've heard.' Luther laughed, 'Wasn't even close to getting me. Nice try though.'
'Seriously, Klaus. At least make us laugh.' Five snickered and continuing to eat his food, unbothered. 'Are you two not even going to defend yourselves?'
'Ah.' I bit my lip, embarrassed that Klaus had to announce my big news in front of everyone. My brother's reaction said it all, they didn't even know what he said was true.
'Surprise?' Diego blushed, scratching his head as he tried to hide his embarrassment.
We were already nervous to bring our pregnancy to our family, Klaus suddenly blurting it our in front of everyone had made things worse than expected.
Sam looked at me, then back to Diego. 'Wait, wait, wait. Pr-Pregnant? Am I- Are you-'
My brother was practically panicking; Not going to lie, although I was afraid of their reaction, the way Sam's eyes wandered around like a lost puppy was cute.
Dean on the other hand was at loss of words. His usual angry reaction was what I expected and seeing him not do or say anything at all sort of scared me.
'I'll be an aunt!' Allison cheered, jumping up and down her seat. 'Is it going to be a boy? Oh I hope it's a girl.'
'Have you thought of names yet!?' Vanya smiled, joining Allison. 'Wait? You think the kid will turn out to have superpowers? Oh wow.'
'Diego you may want to run.' I murmured, watching Dean not move a muscle. Being too focused on my oldest brother's reaction, I blocked out whatever Allison and Vanya was discussing on he side.
'Ah, Ben. You little shit.' Diego talked under his breath, burying his head in his arms as he felt Dean's glare.
Klaus spoke nervously, 'Aha. Ben says sorry but blames me for how I went on about it.'
Luther tapped on his shoulder, 'You're not helping at all. I mean, look at Diego. He's shaking like a chihuahua.'
'Someone please make it make sense.' Sam places his hand on his forehead. 'Y/N. How did it happen?'
'Well, Diego and Y/N obviously had se-'
'Don't even finish that sentence, little kid.' Dean cut Five off, 'Y/N. I don't even know what to say but what the fuck?'
'I wanted to tell you guys tonight the proper way but you guys seemed so intense, I didn't know how to start this news.'
Sam lightly smiled, despite the panic I still saw through his eyes. 'Y/N, you and Diego have been dating for about six years now. I'm happy that you found someone other than your brothers that loves you so much.'
'No, no.' Dean crossed his arms, he was the total opposite of how Sam was acting. It hurt my heart a little that my brother was acting the way he did but there was nothing that I could've done.
The room went to silence, everyone staring at me and Dean as we all waited for him to say something else. It was odd to see Dean say a few words when he was pissed, which frightened me more.
He continued to stare at me intensely, taking a deep breath and taking in the little detail that he got from Klaus' announcement.
I wished that Diego and I had told everyone instead, otherwise this awkward moment between my brothers and me wouldn't have happened. Or at least could've been slightly better.
Dean shifted his eyes to Diego, I practically heard my boyfriend gulping from right next to me. Him and Sam freaked out when I've told him we started dating, Diego couldn't imagine what was going on in Dean's head.
'You were my little sister that always needed me, a little nut that never left my side. Now you're all grown up, about to start your own family.' Dean unexpectedly started to tear up, sniffling quietly. 'You just grew up so fast, Y/N.'
'Dean..' I reached over the table, grabbed his hand and squeezed it. 'I'll always need you. I'll need you and Sam. You'll always be my brother and I'll always be your little sister.'
'That is so cute.' Klaus smiled. 'See, Ben? I told you blabbing this would've not been so bad.'
'Oh, nah. This is bad.' Diego looked at his brother. 'You really thought it was a good ide-'
Luther hugged Diego from the side, 'Congrats brother! Wow. I'm going to be an uncle.'
'Now we have to celebrate! Let's go clubbing!' Allison got up, walking towards me as she pulled me from my seat.
'Oh no. That's a huge no.' Sam shook his head, 'Last time we went, Diego was practically eye humping my sister. No.'
Five laughed, 'That's why she's pregnant. Duh.'
Dean quickly turned his head, 'Really!? Did you really have to engrave that image in my head?'
'That's for calling me a little kid, old man.'
'You're the one to talk! Future boy.'
“And how are we feeling this morning?”
Klaus groaned, forcing one eye open, Ben’s low voice too loud in his ears what with the pounding in his head overpowering every other sense.  Glancing around he found himself shirtless on Allison’s kitchen floor, his cheek pressed to the linoleum, Ben laying across from him, watching him.  At least the linoleum was cool on his fevered face.
“Oh, peaches and cream,” he croaked, closing his eye once more and taking a deep breath.  He couldn’t remember how he’d ended up in the kitchen.  “How are you?” he asked.
“Curious, how many rock bottoms are you gunna have to hit before you start taking care of yourself?” Ben asked.
Opening his eyes once more Klaus frowned.  “I’m thinking of a number between… eleven… and twenty five,” he muttered half sarcastically.
“What ghost are you talking to now?” Allison asked, walking down the stairs and past him to the refrigerator.
“Oh, just another old cowboy,” Klaus groaned, pushing himself up off the floor, finding a half empty flask near where he’d been laying and picked it up as he pressed his back to the fridge door.  “Texas is lousy with ‘em.  They’re usually pretty cute, but this one is… ugly and dumb,” he muttered, making a face at Ben as he unscrewed the flask and brought it to his lips.
“Is that really necessary?” Ben asked dryly.
“Mhmm,” Klaus hummed as he drank.  Turning to Allison he pulled the flask from his lips and offered it to her.  “You want some?”
She rolled her eyes before bending and grabbing the empty bottle from the floor to throw out.  “Klaus, if you’re looking for an enabler, look elsewhere.”
“Allison, your marriage is in trouble and your rally turned into a riot,” Klaus called after her, “If now’s not the time to do some drink party, I don’t know when is,” he pointed out and she turned back to him, considering.
Sitting down next to him on the floor, Allison fixed him with a pointed look.  “What happened?” she asked quietly, her eyes searching his face.
“How do you know something happened?” Klaus asked, his eyes darting away as he brought the flask to his lips once more, stalling for time.
“Klaus,” Allison said firmly, not letting him throw her off.  “You showed up on my doorstep last night looking… pretty damn rough,” she murmured, frowning slightly, “and [y/n],” she sighed, “well, she looked pretty damn upset.”
Klaus looked down at his hands in his lap, the flask still gripped between them, shame filling him as the events of the previous night began to resurface in his memory.
Ah, fuck, [y/n].
“Did she say anything to you?” he asked softly.
“No, she wouldn’t tell me anything,” Allison answered, frustration lacing her voice.  “So, how about you tell me, hmm?” she prompted, bumping her shoulder against his and Klaus sighed.
“Ohhh, where to begin?” he mused, “first, my claustrophobic cult tracked me down and I had to save [y/n] from their clutches, I fell off the wagon, and I tried to save this young gay man who doesn’t know he’s gay yet from enlisting in the military and being sent to Vietnam to die at a 1963 diner in front of his blatantly closeted uncle,” he frowned thoughtfully, trying to remember if that was everything.  “Oh, and then,” he chuckled anxiously, “I snapped at [y/n] and made her feel like she’s just…” Klaus trailed off, swallowing, a wave of nausea washing over him, not able to finish that thought.
Turning back to Allison he forced a smile.  “Well, y’know, not in that order, but…” trailing off once more he took another drink as she processed everything he’d told her.
“Well, that explains some things,” she murmured and Klaus was thankful she didn’t press about what he’d said to [y/n].  Finally she took the flask from him and brought it to her own lips.  “Aren’t we a pair?”
“Yeah,” Klaus chuckled softly at the face she made before quickly twisting the lid back on the flask and tossing it away.  “Hey!” he exclaimed as Ben snickered across the kitchen from him.
“Attagirl,” he exclaimed.
“I’ve got a blender and some much better booze,” Allison announced and Ben’s grin slipped at her words.  “So, if we’re gunna start day drinking, we should do it right.”
“I love you so much,” Klaus whimpered, resting his head against her shoulder and Allison chuckled, patting his arm as she made to stand.
“But first, you should go talk to [y/n],” she said gently, pinning him with a pointed look and Klaus’s relief evaporated.
“Oh, right,” he muttered as Allison stepped over him to get dressed.
Klaus tried to get to his feet before his head began to spin and he slid back down, clutching his face with a groan.  “Oh, wonderful,” he murmured, not having to look at Ben to know he was probably wearing a smug, ‘I told you so’ look.
Taking a steadying breath he tried again, this time making it to his feet.  Now he just had to find where [y/n] was.  “Hey Allison?” he called, still holding his face as he stumbled across the kitchen, banging his knee into one of the chairs with a sharp grunt.
“Guest room at the end of the hall!” she called back and Klaus nodded, wishing he hadn’t.  Holding onto the wall to keep himself upright he shuffled his way slowly to the half open door at the end of the hall and opened it far enough to stick his head inside.
“Hey, [y/n]?” he asked hesitantly and she shifted on the bed, but didn’t acknowledge his presence.
When she didn’t answer he frowned and stepped into the room, making his way to the bed and sitting down, a little harder than he’d intended before reluctantly reaching out to touch her arm.  “[y/n]?” he asked again as he watched her, her back to him.  “I know you’re not asleep,” he pointed out and she sighed, sitting up.
“Morning,” she replied coldly, not quite looking at him.
“Listen, about last night I--” he began, his voice cracking slightly with shame and her eyes found his, but they didn’t look angry or hopeful or so full of life and light like they usually did, even when she was hurting, they just looked… empty.
“Did I hear Allison say something about day-drinking?” she asked, cutting him off and Klaus frowned, taken aback.
“Uh… yeah?” he answered slowly and she threw back the covers.
“Great, I could totally use a drink,” she mumbled, bending down to reach for her clothes and Klaus gaped at her before quickly averting his eyes.
“Hey [y/n]?” Klaus tried again, confused.  “A-about what I said last night…”
“It’s fine,” she said, interrupting him again as she straightened, pulling her bell-bottoms up and fixing him with a look.  “It’s like you said last night, I’ll drink til I can’t remember it, and then you don’t have to say anything you don’t mean.”
“[y/n], that’s not--” Klaus began frustratedly, reaching for her as she pulled her shirt back on and shook her hair out.
“Really, Klaus, I’m not upset,” she lied, fixing a smile on her face that he could peg as forced from a million miles away, “now let’s go get our drink on, since it seems to help you so much.”
Without another word she walked out of the door, calling for Allison as Klaus sat there numbly, unsure how the fuck he was going to fix this.
——
By the time Five had showed up on Allison’s doorstep you were already well and truly smashed, along with Klaus and Allison and you took Five by surprise as you exclaimed excitedly, rushing to crush him with a hug, your excitement only building when he told you he was there to bring you to see the rest of the family.
Entering the electronics shop he’d brought you all to, you, Klaus, and Allison jostled into each other, giggling.
“Wow, look at all this old stuff,” you slurred, looking around as Klaus slung his arm around your shoulder, pulling you close to his side as he stumbled through the door.
“Le petit mort, le petit mort!” he cried as Allison giggled, “you don’t speak French.”
A flash of annoyance filled you, your stomach flipping uncomfortably at his closeness, but the alcohol dampening your senses helped you ignore it and as conflicted as you were, you found you still wanted to be close to him.
“Oh wow,” his gasp pulled your attention and you followed his gaze up to the balcony above, finding Luther, Diego, and Vanya staring down at you.  “--I know this is impossible, but did we all get sexier?” Klaus asked with awe and you couldn’t quite stifle your giggle.
“Vanya!” Allison exclaimed, her eyes lighting up and Vanya smiled in return, hurrying toward the staircase.
“I can’t believe I have a sister,” she exclaimed brightly, her eyes finding you, “two sisters?” she amended and you swallowed.
“Uh, I--” you fumbled, unsure how to answer her.  You’d never seen Vanya this happy to see you, ever.  Though you figured it probably had to do with the fact that she’d lost all her memories apparently, according to Five.
Before you knew it Vanya and Allison were hugging and the others trailed down after her, your eyes instantly going to Diego.
A half grin tugged at his lips as he came to stand in front of you and you slipped out from under Klaus’s arm to envelope him in a fierce hug.  “What the fuck did you do to your hair?” you cried with a laugh as he lifted you from your feet in his embrace.
“Hey, excuse you, I kinda like this look,” he exclaimed, setting you back down as you reached up to tug at his long locks.  “Besides, who are you to talk, huh?” he asked with a smirk as he gestured to Klaus.
Rolling your eyes you glanced over your shoulder at Klaus who was now hugging Allison and Vanya, a rather content expression on his face that stung a little.  Well, two could play at that game, you thought bitterly.
“I missed you!  What have you been up to?  How long have you been here?” you asked, one question tumbling out right on top of another and Diego pulled back to look at you, his grin slipping.
[y/n], you reek of alcohol… are you drunk?” Diego asked, pitching his voice low and you waved his concern away, quickly avoiding his worried gaze that swung to Klaus, his eyes narrowing.
“Nawww, I’m--I’m peachy,” you exclaimed, quickly moving on to throw your arms around Luther who gaped at you in surprise.  “Lutherrrr, y’big lug, I’ve missed you!” you exclaimed, your voice slurring obviously.
“I really did miss you guys,” you admitted, pulling back to look up at him.  Patting your back awkwardly he directed an unexpectedly warm smile down at you that you mirrored.
“Klaus, is Ben here?” Five asked and Klaus stumbled away from Allison and Vanya.
“Uh, no,” he answered vacantly, “No, unfortunately ghosts can’t time travel.”
Shooting him an unamused look he merely grinned back at you impishly.  “You’re so full of shit,” you muttered and he shrugged.
“Alright, then,” Five grumbled, heading up the staircase, not looking back to see if anyone was following.  “Let’s get down to business.”
Soon you were all settled upstairs in the cozy living area, which you discovered belonged to the rather anxious looking man hovering behind Five, who he'd introduced as Elliot, a nervous grin plastered to his face.  Before Five could begin Elliot dished out a bowl of ambrosia salad for each of you and you took yours eagerly, shoveling a large spoonful into your mouth.
“Elliot, did you make this?” you asked already digging in for more and Diego shot you an incredulous look.  “How can you eat that stuff?” he asked with disgust.
“Are you kidding me, I love ambrosia salad,” you exclaimed, pointing to it with your spoon.  “Elliot, kudos, this is amazing, man!”
Elliot grinned enthusiastically opening his mouth to answer you when Five took center stage to address everyone, cutting him off and you grinned at him apologetically.
“Alright, first off I wanna say I’m sorry,” Five announced, glancing around the room, “I know I really screwed the pooch on this whole going-back-in-time-and-getting-stuck thing,” he said, to which many of you nodded in agreement.  “But the real kick in the pants here is, we brought the end of the world back here with us,” he continued and you nearly choked on your ambrosia as Klaus wandered back to his chair, offering you a drink.
Frowning slightly as you took the glass from him your eyes met for a moment before you both looked away quickly, Klaus turning to Five.  “Oh my God, again?” he asked wearily, looking around the room at the others.  “All of you knew?” he asked incredulously, guessing from the unsurprised looks on their faces.  “I know you didn’t,” he added when you raised your hand with a frown, gaping around at the others as well.
“Why am I the last one to find out about the end of the-- oh my God,” he exclaimed suddenly with a chuckle.  “My cult is gunna be so pissed.  Five!  I told them we had until twenty nineteen.”
“We have until Monday.  We have six days,” Five countered, without amusement.
“Is it Vanya?” Klaus asked suddenly, bringing his drink to his lips and you nearly spit yours out.
“Klaus!” Allison snapped as Vanya looked confused.
“What?  It’s usually Vanya,” Klaus countered.
“Do you have any leads, Five?” Vanya asked, ignoring him.
“Yeah, we have one,” he answered, taking a file from Diego and passing it down to Allison.
“Holy shit, is that Dad?” she gasped.
“Yeah, and he’s standing on the grassy knoll,” Diego answered.
“Diego and I have been trying to talk to Dad about what exactly this means,” Five added, “so far, we’ve got nothing.”
“Not nothing,” Diego argued, “we know he’s planning to kill Kennedy.”
“Maybe,” Five stressed.  “But we don’t know who or what sets doomsday into motion.  It could be Kennedy, but it could be something entirely independent.  But if we know something changes the timeline, we have to make it right,” he insisted.
“Yeah, but how, if we don’t even know what’s broken?” Allison asked.
As usual with Hargreeves family meetings the entire thing quickly devolved into an argument, Diego seeming rather hung up on this fixation with saving Kennedy.
“But… none of us are supposed to be here, right?” Vanya pointed out.  “I mean, what if it’s us?  Has anyone here done anything to screw up the timeline?”
Quickly hiding your face in your cup you glanced around the room at the others, who were all looking rather guilty themselves.
“Diego’s been stalking Lee Harvey Oswald,” Luther exclaimed, instantly putting Diego on the spot, who pointed back to him with a glower.  “And you’re working for Jack Ruby!” he accused.
“Allison has been very involved in local politics,” Klaus announced, sliding down in his chair.
Allison’s mouth fell open as she gestured back to Klaus with the hand holding her drink. “Okay, you started a cult!” she cried before turning her glare on you.  “And [y/n]’s become a famous musician!”
“Hey!” you gasped, “Don’t pull me into this!”
“I-I’m just a nanny on a farm,” Vanya cut in, “I don’t have anything to do with all of that.”
“Well, maybe you do, and we just don’t know it yet,” Allison argued.
Diego’s shrill whistle cut everyone off.  “Listen to yourselves!” he exclaimed.  “Everything in our new lives is connected to Kennedy--”
“Is it, though?” you muttered as he continued on, unable to be dissuaded.
“Guys, you all die,” Five announced suddenly, shutting everyone up once more.  “I was there.  I saw it, and I want to forget it, but I can’t.”  His voice softened and a pained expression crossed his face.  “I saw you all get vaporized by Russian nukes in a war that never happened until we brought it here.  And Hazel gave his life to save us, so you may need to shut up and just listen to me.”
The entire room sombered as he continued.  “I don’t know if the things we’ve all experienced here are all connected.  I don’t know if there’s a reason for everything.  But Dad will,” he insisted.
“Are you saying we have to talk to him?” you asked, looking up at Five, chewing your lip.
“Yes, before everything and everyone we know is dead.”
“Okay, I’m out,” Luther exclaimed suddenly, jumping to his feet and striding from the room.
“Did you even hear me, Luther?” Five called incredulously after him.
“I sure did!” Luther quipped wryly, “I heard a fifty eight year old man say he still wants his daddy to come fix everything for him.  So you can count me out.  It’s time we all grew the hell up.”  And with that he left as Diego followed after, Five spatial jumping to intercept them.
“Y’know, I could really go for some tacos right now,” Klaus exclaimed as soon as they were gone, picking up his bowl of ambrosia.  “Allison?  [y/n]?  Tacos?” he asked.
“Shouldn’t we wait?” Allison asked and you got to your feet to pour yourself another drink.  Standing at the liquor cart to chug it before pouring more.
“You know those guys, I mean, it could take forever for them to bro it out,” Klaus reasoned, turning next to Vanya.  “Vanya, tacos?” he asked hopefully.
“Is there any way that tacos are gunna cause the end of the world?” she asked hesitantly.
“I mean, there’s only one way to find out, right?” Klaus asked, getting to his feet as Allison rolled her eyes and Vanya giggled.
“[y/n], c’monnn, let’s go,” Klaus exclaimed, rounding his chair to hook his arm around your shoulder, pulling you with him, drink still in hand.
“Yeah, sure whatever,” you mumbled, tipping back the rest of your drink, letting yourself be led.
——
After tacos Allison brought the four of you back to the hair salon she worked at, drawing the blinds and locking the door behind her before crossing the room to turn on the radio and open a fresh bottle of booze.
“Oh my God, I love this song!” she exclaimed, turning the dial up and dancing to the center of the room, holding her arms out to pull the rest of you toward her.
“Are we really doing this?” you asked slightly incredulously, but Klaus grabbed your hand and yanked you forward.
“Oh yes we are,” he answered, grinning goofily as he began to dance and for a moment you smiled back at him, forgetting that you were angry.
Clasping hands with Vanya and Allison, you gave in, letting yourself move to the music, twisting and laughing as they spun you around, and before you knew it, the song ended and you all spread across the room, making yourselves comfortable.
Soon Allison had Klaus in one of the barber chairs, his long hair clipped back as she ranted to him about her husband, a comb in hand as she gestured drunkenly, while Vanya sat at the counter on the other wall, spinning around, and you lay back, flask in hand, dissociating, half paying attention.
“Is the world really gunna end in six days?” Vanya asked, cutting through Allison’s rant.
“Well, it did last time, and we did everything Five could think of to stop it,” Allison answered, with a sigh, running her fingers through Klaus’s hair.
“Hey, wouldn’t it be weird if Five grew up all hot?” he asked suddenly, standing up and ambling across the room, nudging your foot as he passed you.  “Wouldn’t that be weird?”
“Ew,” Vanya and Allison exclaimed in unison and you rolled your eyes.
“Oh, ew ew,” Klaus taunted, turning around to make a face at Allison, “Please, Miss ‘Luther was my lover’,” he exclaimed as she gasped at him.
“We have never even kissed,” she announced, scandalized.
“Yeah, but you guys were making little sick moon-dog eyes at each other all through puberty and breakfasts and all that,” Klaus continued, gesturing with his cigarette.
Vanya spun her chair around to watch, a confused grin on her face.  “Wait, aren’t we all brothers and sisters?” she asked.
“Well, technically…” Allison began wearily as Klaus’s lips curled into a cheeky smirk.  However, one look at him and her eyebrows rose smugly.  “Oh, okay!  What about you and [y/n], huh?  You two have been on-again off-again for years.  At each other like rabbits!” Allison threw back, plopping down in the chair Klaus had vacated and you sat up at the sound of your name.
“Oh, no, that’s different!” Klaus exclaimed quickly, coughing as he took a swig from his flask and pointing back at Allison.
“Wait, you and Klaus?” Vanya asked, trying to keep up, swinging her eyes to you and you gave her a wan smile.
Before you could speak, however, Allison had already continued.  “Oh, do tell, hmm.  How exactly is it different?”
Klaus spluttered, gesturing wildly with both hands as you sighed.  “I never saw Klaus as a brother, okay,” you exclaimed.  “By the time I showed up at the academy you guys were more like my friends and--and fellow classmates than actual family.”
“When you showed up?” Vanya prompted, puzzled.  “Didn’t you grow up with us?”
Taking a long draw from the flask in your hand you shook your head.  “I lived with my birth family until they… died,” you explained lamely, glossing over the fact that their deaths were on your hands, “and I came to the academy to study when I was almost sixteen.”
“Ahh,” Vanya nodded, understanding.
“See, see, exactly,” Klaus agreed, gesturing to you as he sent a level stare across the room to Allison who merely frowned and shrugged.
“Yeah, okay,” she gave in, waving her hands, “but, can we focus?  I mean, clearly we’re not saving the world tonight, but maybe, maybe we could at least try to save my marriage.”
Klaus busied himself with refilling his flask, stumbling across the room to pour more in yours as well, his eyes hesitantly seeking yours as you quickly glanced away.  Frowning, he turned his back on you.  “No!” he called loudly and Allison jerked back.
“No?” she asked.
“No, that’s like asking a nun how to hump someone’s leg,” he exclaimed, while Allison gaped at him incredulously.  “I mean, who in this room knows shit about relationships, huh?  This one?” he asked, turning to point at Vanya, “In secret love with some farm frau?”
“Her name’s Sissy,” she interjected, but Klaus spoke over her.
“--Which is an improvement on her previous love interest, the serial killer,” he continued as Allison quickly shook her head, but he ignored her.
“What?” Vanya asked while Allison tried to soothe her.
“Meanwhile, I’m continuously fucking up my relationship due to my commitment issues and am apparently still carrying a torch for a soldier I haven’t technically met yet, according to [y/n],” Klaus slurred, and you sat up straighter in your chair, your face darkening.
“Face it,” he continued, “the healthiest long-term relationship in this family was when Five was banging that mannequin.”
Setting your jaw, your fingers dug into the chair arms.
“The only thing the Umbrella Academy knows about love, is how to fuck it up!” Klaus finished with a hollow laugh, holding his flask high.
“That’s it,” you muttered, pushing yourself out of your chair, “I’m out of here,” you announced, brushing past Klaus and turning as you got to the door.  “It was fun catching up with you Vanya,” you said, pointedly ignoring Klaus and his gaping expression.  “Allison,” you murmured, nodding to her before finally swinging your gaze to Klaus who stood in the center of the room looking rather small.
Opening your mouth, you decided against it and shook your head sadly, pushing against the door with your shoulder.  When it didn’t budge you scowled and twisted the key, trying again, almost tripping as you stumbled out the door, Klaus watching you go with regret.
——
“[y/n], wait, come back,” Klaus called halfheartedly as soon as the door shut, half stepping forward before stopping and sighing, swinging his head dejectedly.  “Oh, what’s the use?” he whined, plopping down in a nearby chair.  “She’s gone, probably for good this time and we only have six days left.”
“Six days?  What are we supposed to do with six days?” Allison cried bringing the bottle in her hand to her lips.
“I’m gunna tell Sissy that I love her,” Vanya insisted, perking up.  “No more secrets.”
“Yeah, yeah, if it’s gunna all go tits up anyway, I might as well be honest with my husband,” Allison agreed.
“Does that mean I have to face my cult?” Klaus asked, deflating.
“And fix things with [y/n]!” Allison exclaimed, pointing at him.  “She has been the best damn thing to have ever happened to you, and you know that!”
“I know!” Klaus cried, throwing his hands up.  “I know that!  You think I don’t know that?  But I fucked up, Allison!  I waited three damn years for her and within three days I fucked it all up, again!  Three years of temptation!  Sooo much temptation, just falling at my feet, but I love her,” he insisted, covering his face with his hands.  “I love her and I fucked it up and I don’t know if I can fix it.”
“Hey, c’mon, of course you can,” Vanya argued, leaning forward in her chair.
“She’s right,” Allison agreed.  “No matter what, you two always find each other again.  You’re both bullheaded like that.  As long as you both want it, and you do, then don’t give up.”
Klaus lifted his hand from his face to gaze dewy eyed at his two sisters, sniffling slightly.  “You really think so?”
“Of course,” Vanya said, jumping up out of her chair and waving for Allison to join her and they converged on Klaus, wrapping their arms around him as he let out an emotional sob.
“Oh, you guys,” he cried, “I’ve missed you so much.”
——
Unsure where to go, drunk and upset, you found yourself wandering the street aimlessly, stumbling along trying not to cry.  You didn’t exactly want to return to the mansion, what with Klaus’s crazy cult there -- just remembering how awkward they’d made you feel brought a shiver racing through you, but where else could you go?  Your apartment was no doubt being watched in case you returned, and you didn’t exactly want to get entangled with the police, especially in this state.
Wondering if Luther, Diego, and Five had returned to Elliot’s yet you decided to make your way back to look for them.  Turning the corner, however, something caught your eye and you faltered, your gaze flicking to the reflection in the window nearby.  A sleek black car seemed to be following you slowly and your breath caught.
Was it the cops?  Had they caught up to you?  Shit shit shit.
Taking a deep breath you began to walk, speeding up your pace slightly and rounded the corner.  It wasn’t long before the car turned as well.
Well, whoever they were, they were definitely following you.
Biting your lip, you darted down the next alley and began to run, bursting out onto the next sidewalk and not stopping.  Suddenly the car was racing down the street; you couldn’t seem to shake it, giving up and taking off sprinting again, racing through yards in an attempt to get away, completely turned around by now.
With a screech of tires the black car pulled in front of you, stopping abruptly and cutting off your exit.  Breathing heavily you readied yourself to run as soon as the driver got out of the car.  However, when the door opened and a strange looking man in a chauffeur’s uniform stepped out, you blinked, surprised.
“Who --?” you began, but without a word the driver pulled an envelope from his jacket pocket and handed it to you before getting back in the car and pulling away.
Left rather stunned, you turned the crisp cream coloured envelope over in your hands and popped the wax seal, pulling out the sheet of paper within.  If you thought you were stunned before you certainly were now as you read over the letter.
To my pursuers, from Reginald Hargreeves --
I request the pleasure of your company for a light supper on the 20th of November, 1963, half past seven o’clock, 1624 Magnolia Street.  Don’t be late.
So Reggie wants to meet, huh, you wondered as you read over the letter once more.  Did any of the others get one of these yet?
With a sigh you folded the paper up and shoved it in your pocket.  You could still try to make your way back to Elliot’s, but your head was beginning to spin and you just wanted to lay down.  As much as you hated the idea, the familiarity of the debutante’s mansion was beginning to sound more and more inviting.  You just hoped Klaus’s sycophants would let you actually get some rest.
Spoiler alert, they did not.
As soon as you walked through the door they surrounded you, petting your hair, your arms, your back, anywhere they could reach and you fought the urge to shrink back from them.
“Where is the Prophet?  Is he with you?”
“No, uh, Klaus isn’t with me,” you answered awkwardly as they herded you further inside and urged you to sit in the middle of a large plush blanket with them.  Several of them looked like they were meditating, but as soon as you joined them they opened their eyes and smiled at you, watching you expectantly.
“Beloved of the Prophet, you’ve returned!” the eager young dark skinned woman with the large round glasses from earlier exclaimed, sitting down next to you and you smiled hesitantly.
“Uh, yeah, that’s me.  You know I have a name right?”
When they all stared at you blankly you sighed, waving the thought away.  “Never mind,” you muttered.  “What’s your name?” you asked instead, turning to the girl, latching onto the one face that you recognized in the sea of blue clad bodies lounging around the mansion floor like a bunch of cats.
“Jill,” she answered with a smile, scooting closer and taking your hand in hers.  “Are you really from the future, like the Prophet?”
“Well, uhm, yeah,” you answered, unsure how else to.  It wasn’t as if Klaus hadn’t told them all about it, apparently.  Glancing around, you suddenly noticed an acoustic guitar leaning against the wall nearby and you gestured to it.  “Hey, can you pass that here?” you asked, your fingers itching to play, not really wanting to be plied with any more questions about the future or Klaus.
“Do you play?” Jill asked, as a man passed the guitar to her and she to you.
Holding it in your lap and strumming your fingers over the strings you sighed contentedly.  “I do,” you answered simply.
Past caring about whether anyone would realize the songs you played were from this era or not, you began the chords of a song that wouldn’t be written for another several decades, Klaus having put it in your head the other night when he was drunk.  Singing softly, Jill and the others listened raptly, many of them closing their eyes and swaying, holding their tattooed hands aloft.
It was strange seeing so many ‘Hello’s and ‘Goodbye’s surrounding you, and your heart ached thinking of the hands of the man they originally belonged to and all the times you’d kissed those words or they’d stroked your skin, or held your face.
When you finished the song the cultists all began to clap and you felt a strange swell of appreciation.
“You sing the words of the scripture,” Jill exclaimed breathlessly.  “Do you know more?” she asked and you were slightly taken aback.
“Wait, what?  Like what?”  When she recited more of Klaus’s “scripture” as she called it, a sardonic grin twisted your lips.
Of course he would use song lyrics from the future to enrapture these people, you thought.
With a shrug however, you launched into another song with some of the lyrics Jill’d listed.  After playing several more you stretched.  “Hey, I’m uh, I gotta use the restroom.  I’ll be back,” you lied, grinning at Jill who nodded.
Taking the guitar with you, you slowly snuck up the stairs, back toward Klaus’s room.  Before you could make it there, however, a short bald man with glasses held you up, blocking your way.
“Beloved of the Prophet!” he greeted and you cringed, getting rather tired of being called that.
“Uhm, yeah, that’s me,” you exclaimed awkwardly.  “And who might you be?”
“I’m Keechie,” the man answered eagerly, taking your hand between both of his and shaking enthusiastically.
“Keechie,” you repeated, pulling your hand away.  “So, uh, can you tell me something?” you wondered, genuinely curious.  “Why did you decide to follow Klaus?”  How had he really roped so many people into following him so blindly?
“Oh, I saw him speak at Berkley a couple years ago.  His message of anti-materialism truly touched me.  And well, you’re from the future as well, so you know!  He told us of the apocalypse and foretold many many events.  He truly is amazing.”
“Right, yeah,” you murmured.  “Uh, another question,” you prompted and Keechie nodded, ready to answer.  “How did you guys all know who I was?”
“Oh, easy, the Prophet spoke of you all the time.”
What?
“He often waxed poetic of your great love and understanding, of your support and your beauty.  I believe he once called you an ethereal goddess of music and fire.  From his description it was easy to see it was you.”
Goddess of music and fire, huh?
“That’s…” you breathed, unable to speak, your head beginning to spin.  Klaus had talked about you while you were separated, apparently at length.  So much so that all these people could instantly recognize you.  What did that mean?  Had he really thought of you all this time?
“Uhm, I’m sorry, I’m not feeling so well,” you murmured, touching your head, trying to ignore Keechie’s look of concern before brushing past him and quickly shutting yourself in Klaus’s room and pressing your back to the door, all the emotions you’d tried to push down all day coming back with a vengeance.
——
It was past midnight by the time Klaus stood in front of the mansion on the manicured lawn.  Looking up at the cheerful light spilling through the windows he took a deep breath.  The sound of many voices and revelry could be heard even from outside and he fortified himself.
He had to face the music sometime.  He’d been running from his responsibilities for long enough, though the thought of facing all the people he’d conned and admitting to them that he was a fraud, that he’d been lying to them this entire time was not a welcome one, but after Allison and Vanya’s words, he figured it was time to get it over with.
Besides, he still had to find [y/n] and apologize to her properly.  He had to fix things.
Hoping to be able to kill two birds with one stone -- that [y/n] had returned here after leaving Odessa’s he took a deep breath and strode to the front door, pulling it open.
As soon as he stepped inside a sea of excited faces turned to him, instantly swarming him, reaching out to him and he plastered a long suffering smile to his face.
“Yes, yes, Daddy’s home,” he exclaimed, holding out his hands and wading into the crowd.
By the time he finally extricated himself from them and retreated to his chambers he shut the door and heaved a heavy sigh, tucking his hair behind his ear.
“You’re doing the right thing, you know.”
Ben’s voice cutting through the silence made him jump and he turned to him with a scowl.  “Yeah, well, I’m not doing it for you,” he spat, ambling wearily into the room, bumping into several pieces of furniture in the dark.
Ben stuck his tongue out at him and Klaus returned the gesture before stopping short, his gaze falling to the mess of pillows in the middle of the room, illuminated by a stray beam of moonlight.  [y/n] lay among them, an empty bottle of whiskey and an acoustic guitar laying nearby on the ornate carpet and Klaus’s heart gave a lurch.  She had returned to the mansion after all.  The thought that she might be out wandering the streets, drunk and alone had been hounding him all night.
Kneeling down next to her he studied her sleeping face, her eyelids fluttering slightly as her chest rose and fell with deep even breaths.  However, there was a haggardness to her expression that told him she’d been crying again and the thought that he was the cause of her pain twisted his gut.
Hesitantly reaching out with trembling fingers, he brushed her hair out of her face, caressing her cheek with his knuckles.  Not wanting to wake her he quietly got to his feet and found another place to lay down across the room, though still within sight.
He figured if she woke up, still angry at him, she might not be best pleased if he were sleeping right next to her, even though it killed him not to hold her.
In the morning he’d face the music.  But right now, he’d let her sleep.
“She did not!” Klaus gasped dramatically, as if gossiping, into the old fashioned phone, putting a hand over his mouth for good measure.
“What’s going on?” Allison asked, walking into the kitchen and looking around in confusion.
Viktor was sitting at the table with his head in his hand, using his other one to drum his fingers across the wood of the tabletop and glancing up at Klaus every once in a while. And Luther sat across from him, eating a sandwich.
The blonde haired man shrugged, taking another bite of his food as Klaus shushed all three of them.
“Don’t you worry,” He continued to speak to the person on the other side of the call, “I will be there right away.”
With that he hung up.
Barely a second later he started giggling into the hand that he put over his mouth.
Five walked in and rolled his eyes slightly, “What’s got you grinning like an idiot, over there?”
“I-“ The man giggled again, “I just got a call from Y/n’s principal saying that her parent or guardian needs to go to the school right away because n/n got into a fight!”
Everybody’s jaws dropped, “N/n got into a fight?” Luther asked in shock, unable to picture you fighting anybody.
Only for the fact that your father threatened to ground you for life if you ever did again, not because he didn’t think you wouldn’t gladly get into a fight. You were your fathers daughter after all. Diego was always up for a fight, and you didn’t take his threats lightly, especially since you were only ten years old and in a phase where you took everything said to you very literally.
“But Diego’s out of town for the day.” Allison frowned.
“I know!” Klaus exclaimed happily, “That’s why I’m going in his place!”
“Are we sure that’s the best idea?” Viktor gave him a meaningful look.
He just moved his hand, as if waving off the idea, “Oh, yes, everything is going to be splendid.”
Allison’s hand shot in the air, “Am I the only one who feels like we need to stop that?”
“How about we all go?” Five suggested, rubbing his temples to ward off an oncoming headache.
Viktor shrugged in return and Allison nodded.
Klaus clapped his hands together, “Ooh, wonderful! Let’s go right away!”
“Wait guys!” Luther shouted, mouth full as he tried to stuff down the last of his sandwich while watching his siblings leave the room.
Right before exiting the house, Klaus made sure to leave a message- in very messy handwriting- on a paper near the door telling Diego to go to your school ASAP once he got back.
The ten minute car ride over was filled with screaming, fighting over control of the aux, Five almost getting pulled over for speeding, and Ben appearing and then wishing that he hadn’t.
After parking, everybody filed- more like stumbled- out of the car and in through the doors of the main office, their speaking volume nearly giving the elementary school receptionist a heart attack.
Five had been the one to calmly step forward and tell her that they were here for you- your aunt and uncles- and she had been too busy pointing a shaky finger at the waiting area to even question the clear differences between all of them.
After about five minutes of Ben and Klaus arguing over a seat, Luther falling asleep in his own, Five reading a discarded newspaper, and Allison and Viktor looking like they wanted to be with anyone but them, the principal's office door opened and they were all beckoned in.
They quickly piled in, quickly taking in the sight of you sitting in a chair facing the principals large desk, with a small girl and her parents a couple feet away.
As soon as your uncles and aunt filled the room, you looked up with a large grin, jumping into Viktors arms, “Vicky!” You cheered, hugging him tight.
Your principal was quick to clear his throat obnoxiously before your uncle could even hug back, “Ms. Hargreeves, that is no way to behave.” His scolding was very unnecessary in the eyes of your relatives.
He clearly hadn’t been expecting all these people, because there were only two chairs next to you, which Allison quickly sat down in, and Klaus pushed Luther out of the way to sit in the other.
“Which one of you are her parents?” He asked quite rudely with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh, that would be none of us.” Five spoke up from the wall he was leaning against, eyes narrowing, “We are her uncles and aunt, her father couldn’t make it at the moment.”
The principal's eyes quickly cast down to his desk, uncomfortable, “I see.”
The other girl's mom, who’s whole family had been yet to say anything, finally spoke up, “I believe we should get started?” Her words were a question, but her tone was a demand.
“Yes, very well.” He said, sitting up straighter and adjusting his tie, “As you had been informed earlier, Y/n started a fight today at recess.”
“Wait,” Allison said, holding up a hand and raising an eyebrow, “She started the fight?” She found that hard to believe.
After Diego’s threat about being grounded for life, you had been so scared to never eat dessert again that you didn’t even play-fight with Uncle Luther anymore.
The mom was quick to nod, “Oh, yes. She obviously hit my daughter first, and then she only hit back out of self defense.” Her voice was matter-of-fact and snotty.
Five rolled his eyes, “Shocker, your daughter only hit back out of,” he held up air quotes, “‘Self defense’ when Y/n would never start a fight.”
The woman whipped around, nostrils flaring, “Is there something you would like to say to me, young man?” She challenged.
Just as he was about to push off the wall to accept the challenge, Viktor put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down, “Why don’t you tell us what happened, Y/n.”
You finally looked up from your spot where you had been kicking the ground, and watched the reassuring faces of your family as you spoke, avoiding eye contact with the glaring mother and father on the other side of the room.
“Well,” You mumbled sheepishly, “I was just trying to play in the sandbox when she came up to me and told me that it was her sandbox and that if I didn’t get out she would hit me.” You took a deep breath before continuing, “I said no because it was still my turn, but she didn’t like that so she threw sand in my eyes and pushed me. And when I was falling my leg accidently hit her and she fell down too.”
When you finished you had tears in your eyes.
Once your family saw this, it made Allison sit up straighter, Klaus become more serious, Luther’s eyebrows to furrow, Ben to glare at the other girl slightly, Viktor to reach out and rub your back comfortingly, and for Five's fists to clench.
The principal studied you for a moment before slowly turning to look at the other little girl, “Is that what happened?”
At first she shook her head, but then you glared at her and snapped, “You get into more trouble if you lie about it then if you tell the truth.” Something your dad used to say to you when you would deny eating the last cookie after he told you not to.
Her eyes widened, and then the tears began flooding out of her eyes.
She let out a sob as they continued cascading down her cheeks like a waterfall and she hiccuped a couple times before saying, “It’s true! I did do that!”
Her parents' eyes widened as they looked down at her and their mouths opened and closed like fish.
From behind you, all your uncles and aunt adopted smug looks.
“W-well she should have just gotten out of the sandbox!” Her mom stuttered out, standing up and pointing at you accusingly.
Then all hell broke loose.
That was the last straw for your family.
Allison stood up immediately and started a yelling match with the other mom, each one of them getting louder every time sound came out of their mouth.
The dad started glaring at you and Luther immediately moved in front of you to block his view of you, Five following close behind.
Both of them began snapping at the man, telling him off and giving him a good scolding.
The little girl, who was still crying, had started to bawl even harder and Klaus came up next to her and started telling her about the time he lied and his nose grew.
He didn’t exactly tell her that it didn’t actually happen to him, he was just talking about the old movie, Pinocchio.
Even though nobody could see him, Ben was glaring at the principal, who looked around nervously, as if he could feel someone watching him.
Just then, the door opened, but nobody seemed to notice, even you were too busy watching everything else going on around you.
“What the-“ Diego asked, stopping short when all the chaos in the room immediately shut off as everyone noticed his presence.
“Oh!” Klaus looked delighted as he turned around, “Did you get my note?”
“Yeah, I got the note.” The man said, eyebrows furrowed in both confusion and concern.
“Daddy!” You cheered, hopping out of your chair and running into his arms.
This time, the principal was too afraid to scold you.
After that, Allison had flipped her hair over her shoulder dramatically and taken you out of Diego’s arms, strutting out of the room, the rest of your family quickly following.
It was safe to say that the principal or that girl never seemed to have a problem with you again after that. Your family just seemed to scare them too much. You honestly had no idea why.
Even better though, you weren’t even grounded for getting into a fight, Uncle Klaus then used that as an excuse to take everybody out to ice cream. With Five buying, of course.
