It does still boggle my mind that they undid Ein and Aphmau being siblings in mystreet with an SMP video (something entirely not related to mystreet???) to do weird shipbait for a ship I’m pretty sure a majority of the fandom dislikes when they could do romantic rival stuff for Aphmau with. Literally any other character. Like Zane. Which they already do. And that Ein and aphmaus dynamic in SMP videos is way better (and tends to be more funny) when they ARENT doing shipbait like. How do you fuck up a dynamic by trying to make it “less weird” by just making it more boring and one note

Bear with me but

Am I the only one who enjoys all 4 LI's content? Yes, there are some things I look forward to more in some cases or favour more you could say. But I've genuinely come to like all of them, and when I see someone not like any one of them, I feel insulted on all of their behalf, lol.

It did initially start off with Zayne, the main reason I started LaDS. I see a lot of people hate Zayne for his coldness, but that's the appeal of the tsundere vibes; the cold exterior and softness reserved for mc in very subtle ways.

Then, with Xavier and Rafayel, tbh I didn't expect to like them as much as I do now, but the more I played with them, I couldn't help it T_T, especially when you explore the lore. And the hate I see for them is also astounding whether it is 'Xavier is lying to mc' or 'Rafayel is so childish'.

By the time I warmed up to Xavier and Rafayel... BOOM, SYLUS DROPPED AND I WAS WHIPLASHED. Honestly, I was really looking forward to him, and I was enjoying the excitement everyone was feeling too despite the fact that people said he was really mean or didn't really care about mc.

Which brings me to another point of Sylus .... the hypersexulization of him (theres some rlly great fanfics out there though) but the sexulation sometimes becomes offputting because they make him seem so heartless and so uncanon when his lore has hinted to him being very careful with mc.

Finally, what Im trying to say is the creators have said that there will be other LI's, which Im looking forward too whether its Caleb or someone new, and I know I'll come to like them all and I can already see the antis getting ready lmao.

P.S. i saw a theory someone come up with that there will be a total of 6 love interests one for each color of the Stellactrums (Gold, Blue, Purple, Pink, Red, Green) which I think is very interesting.

“Oh. What’s this?” Her little fingers pushed the heart into your skin, you pressed a kiss to her close forehead.

“Baby, you know how I told you that Daddy’s always with me?”

She nodded, moving back so she could see your face. “Yeah, First Dad.”

“Very good. This is… I wear this ‘cause it’s a locket. Do you know what a locket is?”

Your daughter shook her head.

“Well, a locket opens and holds two pictures.”

“Can I open it?”

“No, baby. It’s holding something very very special, so I made sure it won’t come open again.”

“Oh.” She mumbled. “Is Daddy in there?”

“Yes he is.”

Winnie poked the locket and whispered, “Hi First Dad.”

You kissed the girl’s head, she then scurried off of the couch, much more interested in something different. You watched her go, only for someone to sit beside you.

“What’s in the locket?” John Price asked you, exhaustion laced his voice. “You never told me.”

“We were at the viewing, and I was left alone with him…” Tears pricked at your eyes. “I cut a little piece of his hair off and I put it in here.”

You didn’t even need to look to know that John was fighting back tears, his tight grip on your hand said it all.

“He was cremated, why didn’t you want his ashes?”

With tears running down your face, you looked to John Price - your husband. You may not love him, you may have married him to keep your family in their house, to keep yourself afloat against the current, but that didn’t mean you didn’t care for him. i hope you're already asleep it's so late for you but on the topic of the finale ending honestly i understand why people are so upset by it, i think it royally sucks, but imo it was created entirely because they really needed some way to wrap things up and i think almost everyone would agree that it shouldn't have and wouldn't have ended that way had things been different and had the server not needed to end so abruptly.

like idk you KNOW i'm a canon compliant guy but for this thing specifically i genuinely don't consider it canon and think it should fully be ignored, and i think basically everyone involved would be fine with that. also honestly in my mind everything purgatory and after is non-canonical in that it shouldn't have happened either and the reset is definitely not canon so that makes it easier for me to ignore it completely. i think what players and admins stated about their characters is canonical within reason and otherwise i don't think any of it matters all that much because of how the server ended. like to me i know the reality is that that is how it ended and we don't have any other ending to go off of but because of the circumstances there's just no way i could consider it canon and i already spend all my time dreaming up ways to rewrite all the shit that happened before then, nevermind a garbage hastily written ending that only wrapped up one plot thread (the eggs) and didn't even do that correctly (it completely retconned so much about the eggs and i know a lot of lore got retconned and changed over time but it's particularly agregious).

idk where i'm going with this insane rant in your inbox i really don't i just wanted to give my thoughts on that ending and how i take it as a fandom creator because i often see people treating it like it was a legitimate ending even though they hated it and i'm like this is fandom!!! we can ignore it entirely!!! in fact many characters' endings explicitly defy that ending, that was just the way to wrap up the idea of the egg event in some way that made sense. i totally get people being upset by it, i was too, but i was also upset by the previous. five months? of stuff so i kind of can't be bothered to be annoyed by this particular thing.

again this is nonsensical i'm just saying i think we should all ignore it and i've been saying that since the day of bc it was just so obviously not the kind of ending that would've been written under different circumstances. let's all make up better endings forever and ever amen.

that was another point i discussed with someone els where yeah it sucked because they had to wrap it up and “tie everything together” so i agree on that. everything with the qsmp ending wouldve been different under different circumstances.

you’re incredibly real for not considering canon up to a certain point where everything got messy. i think since we’re both very canon compliant people you can understand where im coming from with that frustration and being irked by how everything played out. it was going so well and then 📉📉📉. and heres the thing you know how much i love purgatory okay cause i do but god its truly one of those events where it shouldve been explicitly uncanon i feeeeel. so much of the lore it introduced and everything clashed with everything we had already established and not informing the creators of anything was such a poor choice. but anyways you already know the whole rant.

I think Apex Legends might be dying for good...and that might not be a bad thing.

EA has laid off a lot of employees, and most of the original crew for Apex is gone. There's been TWO major hacks during its entire lifetime, one of which just happened during a tournament recently.

The game is broken, unoptimized, and way more harder for new players to get into.

The new skins and cosmetics and events are very thinly-veiled cash grabs. EA would rather listen to the whales who spend tons and tons of money on the game without thinking twice.

The lore makes no sense anymore. There are more characters than what the current writing team can deal with. Shipping should have never been canonized, and some fandoms are better off with uncanonized popular ships (see: YeeHan Overwatch and HeavyMedic Team Fortress 2)

I want to love Apex. It's introduced me to the first nonbinary character who was a human and not a robot or an alien or a monster. It helped me find great friends. It helped me cope with many dark times. It's just not the way it used to anymore.

Other miscellaneous thoughts (kfp4 spoilers)

- I enjoyed Han. He didn't get much screentime though but I loved his unhinged laughter and the way he rolled about. Wish we got to see some more of him (idk quite how it would be fit in though chchfhvj)

- I was a huge fan of kfp3 breaking the urn of whispering warriors again (hope I got the name of it correct cause I'm just trying to go by memory with that one). And. Hmm. On a pure fan service level I do love that they actually went for it AGAIN. because I'm honestly just personally a sucker for it as a Bit. Just. I'm a liiiittle bit on the fence about it, undecided about whether it's a "joke's overstayed it's welcome"/too repetitive, or whether to love that they leaned into it/brought it back again as a gag. Because on the one hand, over reliance on something like that can be lazy, BUT simultaneously it can take guts to just go for it wherein the amount of repetition becomes part of the humour of it, and you just take the risk of it being seen as lazy for the purposes of the Bit. Personally I never really expected it to get reused again but in theory i love the idea. Like, I'm SURE I've actually made a post in the past about just thinking it would be great to lean into it as a repeating gag - and then they DID bring it back again in this movie! So while I'm somewhat wary, tbh I did enjoy that. Po's whole "oh no! The urn of whispering warriors! Which I've already broken! TWICE!" was hilarious imo. The slight delay and then it actually getting broken. And then a very defeated looking Po SLIDING among the shards while there's the iconic sound effect(s) of those poor lost souls crying out???? Yes please that was so damn funny. I loved that. Like again I had this certain wariness about it but nah, that was fun. I love fun. Ultimately I appreciated that gag fhgdghggk. And the SOUND EFFECT gets me every damn time it's just sooo iconic and priceless

- it's interesting because like. Kfp3 felt somewhat less "legitimate" than the first two movies in terms of like... How "authentic" it felt to the world of Kung Fu panda as established in the first two movies. For example, the first two movies have mystical elements and whatnot, divination visions etc, but it kind of seems to operate at the periphery of an otherwise mostly grounded world, relatively speaking, meanwhile the third movie essentially brings the equivalent of magic front and centre and such and at the time it kind of felt out of place, but like, I was able to accept it, and many years have passed since then, etc. and when I talk about legitimacy I mean how effective suspension of disbelief is + whether the movie feels "canon" etc. movie 3 still felt very canon to me even though in some parts it felt slightly less so. Movie 4 is definitely reeeeeally challenging on that front, much more so than 3, but overall.... I mean it does still mostly feel canon to me which was why I mostly accepted and had fun with the movie. But some parts definitely feel uncanon and break my suspension of disbelief, so like, I'm just gonna be retconning it in my mind for my own sake. I can't accept kai still existing as canon or he and Shen bowing or Tai lung's role in this movie etc. so this movie just kind of dips in and out of canon to me. I pick and choose. I curate my own experience LOL. Also other fans have already covered this extensively and I've voiced my grievances on this before (in private though I'm P sure) but sincerely, the way the Dragon Warrior title is treated in this movie as something that can/should be and needs to be passed on to someone else is REALLY annoying and goes against the first film. So I def have beef with that. And it could have been fixed easily enough I think... If it wasn't the title itself with all its attached connotations/lore but rather just a more generalised choosing of a successor that was needed, or if at least the LORE of the first film when it comes to the title was more properly acknowledged and addressed to explain why it needs to be passed on, idk. So basically I will just be ignoring that in my opinion of canonicity because the plot still works the same without needing to bring the Dragon warrior title specifically into it, you know? There's a bunch of little things I'm just gonna be soft retconning like that tbh.

Anyway part of what made 3 jarring/feel less Legit is it didn't follow the established "tradition" of opening the movie with a more 2d/stylised sequence not taking place in direct reality (e.g. a dream) before transitioning to "irl". And of course this movie also didn't do that at all lol. So it's more easy to write off as not 1:1 to the rules of the world XD

BUT the third movie still had excellent colour theming!!!! And this fourth movie dropped the ball there and just didn't bother with any of that. Which is disappointing but points to the trend of 3 and 4 veering more and more to seemingly "noncanon" territory where it breaks the "rules", etc.

And like, I will put my hand up and say that I was never the most observant fan when it came to this franchise's dedication to colour symbolism - I'm sure I only know about it + know how important it is/has been to these films because of my participation in the fandom. It's not an aspect I'm super invested in beyond the aesthetic/coherence of it. I'm moreso invested on a meta level due to my awareness of it having been a rule of production + other fans calling attention to/caring about it. So while it doesn't make a huge difference to me on a surface level, it really sucks and goes to show that the people working on this one didn't Get these films or have the same level of care that the others had if they couldn't even be bothered to have some colour symbolism consistency like the others did. Just another reason 4 fits in way less with the other 3.

- when Tai Lung goes "well, I saw THAT coming" it was just so bad. Just very "well, that happened" and "he's right behind me isn't he" tier dialogue 😭

AND LIKE. I'm not entirely opposed to him having lines like that - it CAN work, but only if you actually give him other more substantial stuff to do first. The character needs to have serious moments to balance more comedic lines out, to "earn" them. Like I said in a previous post he needed more presence and to actually do something. God it's like. The fourth continued 3's trend of tending to more lighthearted stuff it's like it's AFRAID to be tense and serious ! But you NEED intensity and serious moments. A character like Tai Lung needs serious stuff before you can jump to more lighthearted stuff with him and idk what the movie gave us on that front just wasn't enough for me. Like I don't wanna be too harsh, I guess I like it in theory, it is fun. But it needed to be more earned and better executed than it was

canon happiness series lore:

if simon ever dies, he would make price promise to be a father to his daughter and keep you happy.

ghost made price swear on the little cross he wears after his first meeting with mellie that price has to protect both his daughters and keep you happy.

price breaks his promise every day by keeping simon alive. he couldn’t die when he has two beautiful children waiting up all hours of the night for him, simon couldn’t die when he was all you had.

UNCANON LORE:

if simon did die, price would move in and immediately be at your side. he’d take care of the funeral, he’d take care of the girls, he’d sit with you when you needed to sit under the shower spray and cry.

it would be years later that the lines would get blurry, the girls older and their memories hazy of their real father - only winnie remembers simon. mellie only knows price as her dad, the one who walked her and her sister to and from school, the one who showed up to career day, the one cussing out the principal for not disciplining the boy who had hit winnie. mellie wouldn’t remember the days where she clung to her real father, crying whenever anyone dared to take her from him.

he would sleep in your bed. his arms around you and your back to his chest. you didn’t know that you subconsciously face away from him, because you always faced simon when he slept and now he’s dead. if you face away, you won’t feel the pain when price leaves too. price’s presence doesn’t replace simon’s, he just creates a new mold to fit into - being the loving father and doting husband that simon was. just now, he wears a silver wedding ring and you still wear the gold one from many years ago.

you would have a son. a little creature that simon was so scared to love, but john cradled that boy in the delivery room like the most precious thing in the world. john’s little boy murmured in that little blanket and all you could feel was simon’s fear. simon had rubbed off on you more than you thought. you loved your son, he looked beautiful but you were so scared that that little boy would become something that price could still be - lifeless, a bullet to a heart with only his best friend to comfort him as he went.

price would love him anyway. he loved you anyway. he had retired right after simon was killed, so taking care of all of the kids would be no hassle. even as little oliver got older, he was just like his sisters, which in turn meant he was just like simon. loving, caring, emotional. price took pride in the girls and his son. god might have taken away his best friend, but He gave price a chance to see simon again.

you told price once that you hoped you went before he did so you never had to live without him, and you did. peacefully, on a wednesday afternoon in your sleep. winter grace, melody ivy, and oliver simon were by your side, captain john price held your hand and told you that it was okay. your babies were grown, kids of their own; little kittens and big dogs to keep them company. that he would be okay, that simon was waiting for you.

he had passed two days later of a broken heart. the woman who gave him a family, even if you didn’t mean to, had given him the one thing he wanted in life and now you were gone. only melody was with him, helping him pick out photos that he wanted to use for your funeral. she had asked a question about simon when she found a photo of him and you, price couldn’t utter a word. her whole life she believed price was her father, you wouldn’t correct her as it would bring up too much pain. only winnie would talk about him. he told her what flowers you wanted, that he would like white tulips when he goes. melody only laughed, saying, “dad, you’re not goin’ for a while.” price made sure that melody knew you were to be buried next to lieutenant simon riley, that price’s grave stone be smaller than the lieutenant’s. he wanted to be buried next to you, and to make sure that you got your favorite flower every month and that the cross that you wore when you died be kept by winnie. he had promptly gone upstairs to take a nap and simply never woke up.

mellie kept his wishes. she, winnie, and oliver attended the joint funeral - burying them together next to their mother’s lover and their dad’s best friend. the two children named by simon riley and the one named after him stood over the gravestones, all three children grieving a different parent. captains mactavish and garrick, as well as colonel vargas and his husband former sergeant major parra would stand with them. the four soldiers left dimes on price’s grave. three soldiers left dimes on riley’s, but only one placed a quarter. captain mactavish.

those men would watch over the riley girls and the price boy, walk the girls down the aisle and hold oliver’s son when he was born. they would take care of any of their needs, did anything they asked.

the 141 was buried together, and when they joined their friends in the afterlife, everything was finally alright. your hand held onto simon’s, price’s hand on your shoulder. a little boy was on simon’s hip, one who looked exactly like him and you. the son you lost. and that little boy squealed at the arrival of every one of his uncles, a little boy that was full of happiness.

you had a good life.
