Welp, here it is folks... the ep that finally gave us that hyped up "Asmodeon crystal" exchange teased at in the S2 Pt. 2 trailer. And... hooooo boi, I have formed so. many. thoughts. upon rewatching that scene a few times. Some that are... kiiiinda on the rant-y spectrum the more I lingered on 'em, so how bout I share them here lmao

Fair warning in advance, this maaaaay not be particularly "nice" to Stolas in these rambling thoughts, so if anyone out there's a big Stolas(+itz) fan... yall might wanna skip reading ahead- lol .w.;;

Okay, so to start things off on a (semi?) positive note, the animation & lighting here is quite beautiful to look at. The glittery curtains, the shine in Blitz's eyes throughout his shifting emotions, even the shots of that one broken chandelier (which I thiiink might've been the same one him & Stolas played under as kids?) was a neat bit of symbolism ngl.

Props to Brandon Rogers as well for his voice-performance on Blitz here cause... gawd did it hit me in the heart how much hurt you feel from his yelling ;-;💔

Curious to see more of the use of Blitz's new Asmodeon crystal in future adventures (esp from that one shot in the trailer w/ him using the portal effects against the DHORK crew), it looks cool~ ✨👍

Stolas... okay, you were this close to actually doing a good job ending the Full Moon deal. Admitting to how "wrong" the transaction part of their dynamic was, allowing Blitz more "freedom" via-the crystal (that could also help avoid any legal issues that the Grimoire gave), even wishing him good luck with his I.M.P. business as the night drew to a close... ...buuuuut then Stolas just had to muddle everything up by his whole "even tho you don't have to be with me, I want you with me if you want it~🥺" ...which honestly came off selfish to me than anything else?? Like, dude... if you really ARE regretful of how long you let this deal go for, and truly DO want to let Blitz go... you CAN'T throw in such sappy, lovey-dovey words on top of that?? Otherwise, how can one blame Blitz for getting as confused & flustered as he was throughout that convo... you've basically just sent even more mixed-messages in the grand scheme of things, my dude-🤦‍♀️

Where was that "high opinion" of Blitz during the two of you getting stuck in the sitcom set during "Seeing Stars", when Blitz was having that panic attack performing live, where all you ended up doing was... just hitting on him/praising his bedroom skills again?? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Like... couldn't you have just, I dunno... TRY to actually cheer him up/comfort him like an actual friend, would? Honestly, had the writers actually committed to Stolas cutting off Blitz (even if harsh), giving the crystal with no strings, then going about their separate ways afterwards, I would've been totally fine with the scene tbh. But all this... odd lowkey-blaming of Blitz thrown in, the sappy words, and Stolas not once actually-apologizing during all this (Like, literally I checked and the only utterance of "sorry" seemed to come from Blitz's end before he got kicked out... for what, I dunno- 🤷‍♀️). Sorry for the length btw, but hopefully that about covers my thoughts on the matter-

Detective comics #779 #780 #781 I just read it, and lemme say this is my kind of comic. I enjoyed theses issue so much, but you know what i really enjoyed how Batman was incredibly hostile with his villains in these issues. Not only with villains but civilians too. He was so furious that he causes people to cry like children, however with the Joker. It was so different.

I love, love, the fact that he was actually enraged in theses issues i read. It wasn't pretend neither. It wasn't him acting angry. He wanted to hurt the Riddler. He was furious with Two face. He was being just cold with the rogues, but with the Joker; this is how he shows up.

Ummmmm!!! Where's the anger Batman? Do you see the difference here? And on top of that it's the Joker who suggested to fight with Batman.

What the hell even is that Batman? 'You're going to tell me what happened to solane, and you're going to tell me now' The fakest shit i ever encounter. What are you two about to roleplay or something? You know something funny too? It doesn't stop there, It continues to go further.

Batman slams the Joker head into the snow. First of all Bruce you obviously desired to dance with him. You could have talk with him in the cell like Two face, you know? But obviously you needed this as much as him. This doesn't even exhibits violent. This is intimate. The way Batman grabs at his hair, and loosens his fingers, gently grasping a strand while speaking with him. The whispering in his ear. The flirting. I honestly think this is also a way Batman flirts with the Joker. Another thing is Batman's cape is all around this man, while he lays helplessly on the ground there's no reason for Batman to still be grasping at his hair. Batman actually said he likes to see the Joker helpless in a comic i read recently.

The Joker then realizes he's out of the chains already. Then Batman indulges in this little dance of theirs as always. He informs to the Joker that we can dance now, in so many words. The Joker inquires questions from Batman. Batman answers it with no problem. God, the way he plays around with this man. It's crazy.

There's no denying that Batman shows no contempt or anger towards this man. There's literally nothing there. He's just chatting with the Joker, and People actually say Batman treats all his villains the same.

This isn't done to hurt the Joker badly. It's to play with him. He just needs to give the Joker enough pleasure to collect information from him, even so the way Batman lays his body nearly on top of the Joker isn't exactly needed. He could have still put the weight on his throat with his upper body up, yet he chooses to position himself on top of the Joker in a very intimate way. Again there's no type of anger present on Batman's face, but look at the joy on the joker's face?

And then they play even more, which got me thinking Batman knows exactly what he's participating in when he hurts the Joker. He knows the Joker enjoys it, yet he doesn't mind giving him just that in their dance, even if it's not bloody. This dance their doing is simple and light. It's not the usual violent dance.

Yes, because Batman is always distracted with the Joker. That's why he asked the Joker too distract him. It wouldn't have worked out otherwise, and On top of that Batman still shows no anger towards the Joker.

And you could always make a side account for proship stuff if you want to be able to take a break from the intense pro vs anti stuff if and when it gets too much, whilst still having a place to enjoy that stuff.

Honestly I think a lot of the issue is people seem to take the word "ship" as their ideal relationship. Less so than a dynamic they enjoy in fiction. But I don't know, I can't pretend to understand the mind of antis.

Proshippers and multishippers getting clumped together is probably linked to the idea that a ship is a pairing you want to see canon and shows actually pandering to ship wars lately. Or maybe people are just weird!

UMMMMM Saundor being the prince in sleeping beauty ballet au has me thinking so many thoughts

like before a performance keyleth shows up early and can just hear vex crying so she goes to ask her about it and she finally tells keyleth about saundor and everything that happens behind closed doors and keyleth, naturally, goes and finds saundor

he’s on stage (doing warm-ups in front of crew and some corps girls) and she just starts yelling at him and then smacks him (Allura sees and is like “Keyleth WHAT THE FUCK?”) but she’s just there, a little bit pleased with herself because while she may not like vex entirely at this point she’s had bad partners and girls protect girls (and she’s just also really wanted to smack him for a while).

bonus points if she tops it off with “and you’re a shit ballet dancer”. it’s the first time any of them have ever seen keyleth be very confrontational

Keyleth finds Vex curled up on the couch in her dressing room, just sobbing. And Keyleth has never seen Vex cry so at first she's shocked and then very quickly gives Vex and hug and starts rocking her like her dad always did for her.

When Vex finds out what she did, she kisses Keyleth square on the lips and thanks her.
