Makoto worked on a lot of cases, but out of the three of them, he had the most healthy schedule when it came to work. He knew what his limits were and didn’t overwork himself the same way his partners did.

Byakuya’s luck didn’t have a huge effect on their relationship, which was something he was silently worried over for a while. Even then, it likely would’ve been minor, but better safe than sorry.

Kyoko was the most studious of them thanks to her talent and upbringing, and she tended to think poorly of herself if she struggled with a concept. It was still hard for her to ask for help, but she’d started studying with her partners, and that helps.

Quality time and acts of service are their two biggest love languages, so it’s common to see them just sitting in the same room together or doing little favors for each other throughout the day.

It’s also common for them to fall asleep on top of each other after a long day in strange places. Never wake one of them up unless you want the other two glaring at you for the next week.

Why are the ultimates allowed to just skip all day?? It would only make sense that they wouldn’t need to attend everyday if they had specialized classes to better their ultimates.

Ultimates like Toko or Hifumi wouldn't benefit from a normal language arts class. Instead, the ultimate writing prodigy could have to write a story with incredibly specific criteria, and the fanfic writer has to make a fanfic that could be indistinguishable from canon. And then they can leave if they finish this and all their work early.

But the thing is that they don’t have any of this. The school doesn’t help students develop their talent. The school doesn’t have flexible classes either. Its just a normal school that just has people who are really good at specific things. They’re simply allowed to skip school simply because they’re ultimates.

Kyoko Kirigiri - Ultimate Affluent Progeny

So Kyoko's design was both kinda simple, kinda not, wanted to give her a very fine and regal kinda attitude to her but not arrogant as that's very much Byakuya's thing. Her story is that she loves her dad more than the family business and her grandpa so she abandons detective work and just uses her brain to help her dad out.

Makoto Naegi - Ultimate Novelist

Makoto is a wonderful guy, just great all around. He loves writing children's books and happy stories. This is his main coping mechanism so he doesn't have to process any negative emotions he gets, the rest he can't process… well they go into a murderous psychopath alter.

Aoi Asahina - Ultimate Lucky Student

Shoujo protagonist Aoi. Cute, headstrong, affective, competitive, these are all the traits that make her fight for her friends and clash with Kyoko (and more often than not Byakuya) in the killing game, even when all hope seems lost… she pushes through, unafraid to let tears spill from her eyes for all those lost, but pushing all the same.

Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Detective

This one, I wanna go into more lore territory, cause I kinda memed around his last desc I gave him so here goes:

"A disgraced heir of the Togami household, Byakuya lost the competition that would've secured his riches. Disdainful and bitter, he sought out to get to the bottom of why he lost, uncovering a rabbit hole in the process. By the end, he proved his sibling a cheater, but it didn't matter because by the end as he found the sweet satisfaction of uncovering secrets and crushing liars and cheaters under the weight of their hubris far more satisfying than any inheritance."

Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Spirit Medium

So Sayaka isn't a clairvoyant at all like Yasuhiro, in fact her entire skillset is completely different, first of all she is like an actual psychic, and I based her design off of the japanese Itako, quite loosely. Very interesting group, look it up, also she'll never use these powers in the killing game because I dunno how to even approach these rituals or what they look like or how to write them while remaining respectful, so she won't do it in a killing game for the express reason of her not having the right tools available and not wanting to disrespect her traditions.

Leon Kuwata - Ultimate Swimmer

I really wanna draw him again, all these characters again tbh, and I wanna show off the patterns on his wetsuit. It's a whole coral reef under there, that anemone and clownfish bit is only one part of a whole reef stretching his midline.

Sakura Ogami - Ultimate Programmer

Sakura has installed chips into her body to help optimize her body processes and also cause why not. As for the muscles, she's an Assembly programmer, the programs she's made can run on calculators she loves it.

Chihiro Fujisaki - Ultimate Martial Artist

Chihiro's design here with the two belts is an explicit nod to his preferred martial art - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so unlike Sakura in canon who'd be easy to imagine cracking someone's skull in half with a chop, Chihiro's approach is more crawling onto someone and bringing them down to the floor with grappling like an angry halfling monk. As for the belts themselves, on his head is his final junior belt, while around his waist is his current belt, he's not a black belt yet because he's still too young for it.

Celestia Ludenberg - Ultimate Baseball Star

Celestia actually isn't a legend in this AU, Taeko is. Celestia hates that and wants to start a baseball career going international, whatever the hell that means is up to her own definition, but she wants to be remembered forever as Celestia, not Taeko. Also extra sentence, but this is the SINGLE hardest design I've ever had to deal with here, I think in the future I'll be drawing all her little accessories and I have an alt costume for her I have in mind.

Hifumi Yamada - Ultimate Pop Star

So I changed Hifumi's story as I originally outlined in the OG post with him. He was friends with Aoi all his life, pretty much his only friend at all, and ever since he was little he had an obsession with writing songs, because he was obsessed with stuff like anime openings and was content to just keep the songs to himself. It wasn't till Aoi convinced him to share some of his songs that he started his journey to success, but bc he's not traditionally attractive, his first hits were literally just… his voice being played over other more attractive singers and it wasn't until very very recently that he even performed a song of his for the first time.

Toko Fukawa - Ultimate Fanfic Writer

So while Hifumi was clearly a Doujinshi but due to weird translation, ended up as fanfic creator, Touko is straight up a FF then Wattpad then AO3 girl, who would get obsessed with this really shitty, tripe manga that she didn't even like reading. It did however have super hot dudes in it, so she wrote good stories of those characters when she got frustrated with the actual authorial content - which was always.

Yasuhiro Hagakure - Ultimate Gambler

Quite LITERALLY the never stop gambling meme personified into a guy. He can lose 3 mil on slot machines but always comes out fine because it means if he keeps gambling he'll eventually run into his 1/3 and win giga millions, what he needs to pay off his debts. It isn't just with luck though either because his personality and lack of intelligence or understanding of most the rules of the games he plays means he'll never react the way he should when getting a good hand in poker or a bad draw in blackjack, so he wins those games almost always through just… stupidity.

Mukuro Ikusaba - Ultimate Biker

She's number 16 in her gang, and is easily the most loyal enforcer and taskman of the gang. She does anything she's told, to a grim and disciplined degree not typical for hooligan bike gangers, she doesn't really desire a seat as top dog of the gang though, after all she's got school to worry about, and her sister.

Mondo Owada - Ultimate Warlord

So his relationship and Kiyotaka's is gonna be interesting, because I don't want him to be exactly like Mukuro at all, who was just sort of an all-obsessed Yandere. It's more like he's always chafing under Taka, who is less than friendly with him in this AU, really the main way he even lets Taka boss him around is because he pays incredibly well and helps keep his gang members from devolving back into the unstructured, chaotic criminal life, the same that took his brother years ago.

Oh and yeah, he still looks like Guile, as he should.

Sparkling Justice - Ultimate Killer Killer

Yeah it's a reference to Killer Killer, sue me I love the manga. He has Hajirahara's ahoge, and I thought it'd be cute to also give him a mask just like the other Makoto from a Kodaka game series (Raincode.) Also, while Genocide jack stuffs all her scissors in her skirt, Makoto keeps a truth gun with "truth bullets" as his main weapon, the gun he stores inside the big book in the chibi of just Makoto, and the bullets kept on his person as the red buttons all over his body, which he pulls out when he needs to reload.

"Kiyotaka Ishimaru" - Ultimate Fashionista

Unlike Mukuro and Junko, Mondo absolutely cannot hide the fact that he acts nothing like Kiyotaka, though this is surprisingly fine to everyone else, because unlike Junko who plastered herself onto literally everything, Mondo always obfuscated himself from the public spotlight, at most showing only his suits while he hid his face behind something conveniently placed. Which played primarily to his vision of an ultimate fashionista, who was above everyone and catered to the rich and powerful.

Junko Enoshima - Ultimate Moral Compass

This was a fun one, I decided to let her have her red hair because I believe it to be the "natural" look of her hair, while attaching little clips of dyed hair to her buns as a replacement to keep her shape sorta and keep the strawberry blonde somwehere on her. Understand that while she is the "moral compass" she is still pretty deranged, and the only reason she focuses so much on keeping everyone on their best behavior is because it's endlessly entertaining to her to make her fellow moral committee members upset when she blatantly makes a mockery of the rules while still keeping kids on their best behavior to make a point.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Ultimate Fashionista and Tyrant, the Iron Hand of Despair

Taka's design I wanted to sort of focus on this sort of, holier-than-thou idea, where I wanted to make him look a lot fancier and upper-class than Junko does in his standard highschool fit compared to him. I wanted him to have an upper-crust sort of look

Danganronpa Boys and a Reserve Course Reader ✰

category: short read, friends to lovers, lighthearted, fluff, genderneutral reader, pre-relationship a/n: FIRST HEADCANON POST <3 wanted to start off small, so take this short lil thing while I work on my bigger projects :D characters: Byakuya Togami, Gundham Tanaka, Gonta Gokuhara, Korekiyo Shinguji

Byakuya doesn’t see you any differently than his other peers, even though you’re a Reserve Course student. He sees himself as better than all of those around him, due to his family’s status, so you’re already down there, with everyone else—in his eyes.

Byakuya is always very intrigued with your Reserve Course gossip because it’s always a lot messier than what happens between the Main Course students. It’s a bit elitist, but at least he listens to you talk, I guess?

Sometimes, he’ll go to the Reserve Course Building and pick you up for lunch. Every time he does, all of your peers are always shocked and crowd around him. Whenever he’s in the building, he always has a very revolted look on his face. Jesus Christ—he’s a pretentious prick. He’s lucky he’s cute.

Gundham sees you no differently from everyone else. He sees himself as a god, and everyone else is nothing but a weak moral. While you’d expect someone with his personality to be rude to someone like you, he’s actually really nice.

He hangs out with you a lot and claims he’s trying to “mold you into a perfect underling, for Tanaka, the Forbidden One,” because you’re impressionable since you don’t have a talent. He says this, but you’re pretty sure he just enjoys hanging out with you.

You’re one of the few people he allows to accompany his Four Dark Devas. He claims it’s because you aren’t “a high enough power level” to bring any harm to them, but you know it’s a sign of how much he trusts you.

• Gonta loves having friends and doesn’t care that you aren’t an Ultimate. He’s never understood why some people consider Reserve Course students less than Ultimates. It’s a gentlemanly thing to treat everyone equally, after all! Doesn’t everyone want to be a gentleman?

• He loves sitting with you during lunch. He always makes it a point to sit on the grass, with you, so he can talk about the bugs that pass you guys. He’s so passionate and knowledgeable about insects, it’s adorable.

• This man was NOT lying when he said he wanted to be a gentleman. Gonta will walk you to school, into the Reserve Course building, and to your class. He even makes you wait for him to get to your classroom, for lunch, so he can walk with you. He’s so kind and gentle to you, it’s adorable.

Korekiyo really enjoys being around you, because he enjoys observing people, and he never gets a chance to observe people who aren’t Ultimates. Whenever you talk to him, you can feel his eyes burning holes into you, absorbing your every move. If he wasn’t hot, it’d be weird.

You enjoy hearing him talk about his many travels and anthropological field research trips because you never really get to travel. He loves seeing how impressed you are by his job, so he’ll sometimes drop small parts of stories to pique your interest. He doesn’t even realize that he’s trying to impress you.

He enjoys hearing you talk about your day, even though it always sounds a bit boring, compared to his. No matter how small the events of your day were, or how mundane your classes were, he loves hearing you speak about it.

OKAY, I'M SO GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY ASKED ME ABOUT THIS.

So, this Talentswap AU, it's like the average killing game

*Oh no, Celestia (the protag) got kidnapped and forced in a killing game with 15 other students. She finds Kiyo (the support), and they have to escape, waaaah*

To be honest, what inspired me to make this are Danganronpa V3 (I like how they have features like Scrum Debates, Argument Aranments, and Mass Panic Debates), and the Danganronpa: Another series

So, yeah, everyone's talents are swapped. If you click on the "Danganronpa: A Dice of Despair" tag, you can see everyone's designs and talents. So, what I mainly want to talk about are the characters, their talents, and their personalities, backstories, etc.

There will be a LOT of yapping below, so keep reading if you wanna

‼️‼️TRIGGER WARNING FOR MAJOR SPOILERS IN DANGANRONPA, DARK IMPLICATIONS, AND PERSONAL/SENSITIVE TOPICS‼️‼️

Celestia Ludenberg - Ultimate Lucky Student: So, in this AU, Celestia is the protagonist. She has a mix of her and Makoto's personalities. She can be cold and a douche at times, but she does care about everyone. Here, she has a mix of good luck and bad luck, but they both work at the same time... Somehow? Her real name is still Taeko Yasuhiro, and she made up her fake name to hide who she really is since her family has very dark secrets that could easily crumple her reputation if spilled. Hence why she also doesn't believe that she's really the Ultimate Lucky Student.

Korekiyo Shinguji - Ultimate Swordsman: Here, Kiyo is the support/deuteragonist. Celestia runs into him after escaping into the gym. In this AU, he's aloof, smart, but also starts showing kindness after a while. In Chapter One, he's the one to snap Celestia back to reality after she has her initial panic. He can come off as a bit hostile, but that's because growing up, he didn't have many friends as he spent most of his time training since his family are mostly famous warriors.

Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Gambler: In this AU, she's more of an anti-hero then an antagonist. She's pretty rude and demanding, and she uses Kiibo to her advantage since he's the Ultimate Butler, and growing up, she had many butlers and maids to her aid whenever she needed them. Eventually, in Chapter Two, Sayaka starts to see that Celestia isn't a bad person, and starts to open up to her. Sayaka's cruel and sadistic personality stems from her childhood where her mother was killed by being burned, and her father basically abandoned her, so Celestia's really the only person she likes. Also, she ALWAYS wins every gambling match (Always? ALWAYS.) As well, she's a bit narcissistic, and thinks she's above everyone.

Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Gamer: Here, Byakuya is more of like an AI (like Chiaki), because his father wanted an heir, and none of his kids were "fit for it". So, Mr. Togami got a friend to create Byakuya. Though, Byakuya was never interested in the Togami Corporation, and took an interest in video games instead. He's a bit insensitive, but does mean well. He doesn't express much emotion, but is protective of the people he cares about, and he has a deep sense of justice. He knows his father doesn't love him, but as long as he has video games, he'll be happy.

Chiaki Nanami - Ultimate Pop Sensation: In this AU, Chiaki is a human. She's a lot more energetic then her game counterpart, and is like who she was in Danganronpa 3. Ever since she was a little girl, Chiaki had dreamed of being a famous star, despite her parents' wishes. She loves to write songs and sing with her group, even though after Chiaki gets trapped in the killing game, her girl group gets killed by the Ultimate Despair, which sends Chiaki into despair, though she masks it well. She'll write a song for everyone in the place, and she'll sing it as loud as she can. She's a great friend to have, like a golden retriever!

Gundham Tanaka - Ultimate Traditional Dancer: So, growing up, Gundham's home life was pretty bad. His family was VERY strict on what he ate, what he wore, and what he said. His house was near a street, and every afternoon, he would sneak there and feed all the tabby cats, making him gain their trust, and making him feel a sense of comfort. He's kind of an asshole in the AU, since he had a bad home life, and it left a huge mark on how he viewed people. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to warm up to anyone, as he's secretly scared they'll just use him, so he closes himself off, and he only trusts the tabby cats.

Hajime Hinata - Ultimate Inventor: Hajime's mother was rarely in the picture, causing him to develop a very close relationship with his father. When his father got ill and passed when Hajime was ten, he found all his father's unfinished inventions. Determined to finish them, Hajime worked for hours, nights even, to make his father proud. Hajime gets his vulgarity and bluntness from the highschool he was at before Hope's Peak Academy, since the crude and rudeness was basically the norm at where he was. Also, yes, Hajime is Izuru in this AU, though I'm still trying to figure out how to write that.

Mahiru Koizumi - Ultimate Astronaut: She's the Antagonist of the AU, so I probably should have placed her up way higher, but I'm too tired to change it. So, Mahiru's mother was an astronaut, and Mahiru has always been intrigued by space. In the village she lived at, she would tell the younger kids stories about space and amazing astronauts, forming a close bond with them. Unfortunately, a few months before Hope's Peak, Mahiru's village was burned down, leaving Mahiru homeless. When she saw the advertisement for Hope's Peak, she took it in a heartbeat. She's kind, a little naive, and protective to make sure she can keep everyone as safe as she can.

Mikan Tsumiki - Ultimate Pianist: School was a very tough time for Mikan, as she was always the targeting of bullying, though she felt safe in her music class. After a very traumatic event, Mikan basically clung to her piano, playing it every day, as many times as she could. She's shy, but also very determined and kind, and she's quite skilled at the other instruments other then piano! Which she personally finds to be very cool!

Nagito Komaeda - Ultimate Anthropologist: Nagito's house was very close to a library, so every day, after school, he would stop by the library and find a book. The ones about culture and evolution were the ones that intrigued him the most. He spent most of his childhood in the hospital, so the library was like a safe space for him. He's also aloof, but somewhat disturbing and also mature. He has to keep a close eye on Hajime, so he's basically Hajime's babysitter (lol).

Sonia Nevermind - Ultimate Detective: Sonia was always very smart, even as a young child, so she didn't have very many friends as she got frustrated by people who weren't as smart. One day, the detectives brought her in to see if she could help them with a case, and she solved it, pretty quickly. She can solve cases quicker then the average detective can. She's pretty quiet most of the time, but she also has a strong sense of justice, is no-nonsense and quick, and she really doesn't have as much empathy as she probably should.

Kaede Akamatsu - Ultimate Princess: So, Kaede is the princess of Japan, so she also has to follow strict and unfair rules. She often but heads with her parents since she wants to actually be her own person and not follow their rules. Her parents had arranged a marriage for her, and when she found out about this, she quickly signed up for Hope's Peak to escape this. She's kind, charming, curious, and always willing to learn. She may not give the best advice, but she tries her best!

Shuichi Saihara - Ultimate Artist: Shuichi here seems like your average Joe. He doesn't really talk highly of himself, and he just does art as a hobby, so he wasn't really expecting it to become his actual talent, lol. Despite all of this, he's fairly nice and pretty chill, but can also be pretty morbid due to the fact he was born and raised in an unusual church. No, he isn't religious. Also, he loves art, but he doesn't draw eyes when he draws people, as he finds it difficult to do (this will come in handy later).

Kirumi Tojo - Ultimate Magician: Growing up, Kirumi always loved magic. She was a street magician for a while before being allowed to enter a school that allowed her to embrace her interests. She's kind, energetic, and kooky since she had been seen as a "weird kid" by most people growing up. Despite this, she's incredibly loyal to those around her, and she can be scarily serious when she needs to.

Kiibo (Idabashi) - Ultimate Butler: So, in this AU, Kiibo is also human, so I will refer to him as Kiibo Idabashi. He always loved helping people, despite what they asked him to do. His father, Professor Idabashi, spent a lot of time on robotic engineers, so that led Kiibo to wander off... a LOT. He always enjoys to serve people, and he enjoys Celestia's company. He doesn't like Sayaka much though, as she uses him. There are also times where he feels empty, like a robot. Though, he's hardworking, devoted, and can take on even the hardest of tasks.

Rantaro Amami - Ultimate Photographer: Rantaro still has twelve sisters in this AU, and they always loved for him to take pictures of them, to where they would even ask him daily to take pictures of scenery they liked and outfits they liked. Rantaro found himself enjoying photography, even in the darkest of times. At first, he's bossy and a bit stubborn, but he eventually learns to trust his classmates and even befriends most of them. After that, he's kind, still a little stubborn and bossy, but more willing to hear others out. Also, him and Korekiyo become quite close very quickly!

I'm SO sorry that I talked more about the characters and their backstories then their roles!! I'll make a relationship chart of them in a post eventually. Also, this took a long while and isn't my usual content, so my bad! Also, if you read all of this, thank you 💕

Undead AU where a virus spreads through Hope's Peak turning all the Ultimates into undead, meaning they eat flesh, can turn people by biting them, lose their self-control, etc.

Only the lucky students are immune. For the sake of the city, the Hope's Peak faculty lock everyone on campus. The reserve course students are left to fend for themselves against the hungry Ultimates, and the lucksters try to take care of their respective classes. They get bitten copiously in the same way cat owners get bitten a lot, but they're immune, so it's fine.

(The first time he's bitten, Nagito is like, "Aw, it looks like it won't spread to me. That's a shame.")

Nagito pretty quickly resigns himself to trapping reserve course students for his class to eat. He doesn't just let them run loose eating people; he keeps control over their portions, so they don't just kill with reckless abandon.

"Akane, you can't eat both of them by yourself," he chides mildly. "There has to be enough for everyone." (The words "enough for everyone" seem to click even in her undead brain, because she immediately switches gears, making sure everyone gets to eat some.) "Hiyoko...Yeah, it's okay to bite me. Just leave all my limbs intact, if you can. AH! That...really hurt, Ibuki."

Meanwhile, Makoto is unwilling to let his class eat reserve course students at all. He brings them raw meat from the kitchen and works himself up to trapping animals. Maybe he lures a crane to Sayaka to eat, because parallels.

He and Nagito compare notes on their strategies of caring for their classmates; they run into each other in the hallway a lot, and sometimes Makoto catches one of Nagito's classmates sneaking out of their classroom or vice versa.

"Looking for this?" Nagito says, interrupting Makoto's sprint through the hallway. He's walking hand-in-hand with Hina, who is contentedly munching on someone's detached arm.

"Whose arm is that?!" Makoto exclaims. (Chihiro is on his back. She didn't sneak out or anything; she just clings to his back sometimes. She's gnawing at his ear, but he ignores it.) "Did she kill someone?"

"Nope. It was like that when we found it," Nagito lies. "Probably one of the upperclassmen's handiwork." Really, he used the arm of one of the reserve course students he trapped earlier to lure Hina back. And he's letting her keep it, as a treat.

Makoto sighs dejectedly. "They said this is just until they find a cure, right? That's what the headmaster said. The best scientists in the world are looking for a cure. Then everyone will be back to normal."

"Of course. I'm sure it won't be long now."

"...But it's terrible we haven't been able to keep the reserve course safe from them."

"Hey, chin up. It's a small price to pay to keep our classmates healthy."

"I don't think it's a small price at all. They-"

"Ah, I think another one of your charges is loose."

Makoto glances back. "Taka. Thanks for trying to help, but I've really got it covered out here. Why don't you take Chihiro back inside?"

Taka, one of the few undead who still consistently stands upright (though his posture isn't as straight as it once was) takes Chihiro off Makoto's back, and she immediately crawls onto his, resting her head on top of Taka's as he walks back toward their classroom.

"Hina, you want to go share that with Sakura? Yeah, go ahead. Don't let Byakuya see it, okay?"

Hina goes back to the classroom, too.

"I should head back," Nagito says. "If I'm away much longer, half of them will be gone by the time I return. And it's hard enough to wrangle Fuyuhiko; Akane and Gundham will take all day."

"You're bleeding," Makoto observes, with an alarmed frown. "Do you want me to look at that? I have bandages, back at-"

"No thanks. I'm alright."

"Maybe we should switch classes every now and then. Most of my classmates don't really bite all that hard...except Junko. But with her, you just have to be quick."

"Switch classes? That could be interesting..."

One day they do try to switch, but Nagito still gets bitten a lot (He suspects the 78th class think he's hiding Makoto from them; it would explain why a lot of them are hostile.), and Makoto is still mostly unscatched (Though Ibuki does tackle him and drag him to a, for lack of a better word, "nest" that the Ultimate Impostor has built, and he has to kind of just lie there and let them both lightly gnaw at his flesh for a while.). Nagito lets Makoto bandage him up, trying not to blush at the attention.

Byakuya didn’t truly believe in a concept like luck, despite it being his talent. After all, “luck” was determined by statistics, probability. It was much more worth it to study that.

Nothing was ever random, despite what his luck had done with him over the years. He always chalked it up to some other reason, something more explainable than something he couldn’t control.

Clearly, he had a certain distaste for his talent. Lottery or not, it was taking up the space of those with actual talent- he even believed himself to have more than just luck as a talent. Why not give him a different title?

Especially since, most of the time, his luck was dormant. No swaying his life towards positives or negatives. If he was a regular person most of the time, did luck truly dictate him?

He didn’t particularly want to find out. Hope’s Peak was prestigious regardless, so he wouldn’t exactly look a gift horse in the mouth. That didn’t mean he had to like why he was there.

Makoto was birthed for a mission but they didn't have the heart to put him up for adoption afterwards Komaru was an accident, so she was kept oblivious. It's more makoto centric, im bad at explaining lol but like makoto naegi was an ultimate spy, ultimate lucky student as a cover. In canon he got in because the first girl who was picked, her grandfather or someone was ill so they redrew. what if that wasn't the case, what if she wasn't real at all, what if she was a story made. He was there to figure out the Kamakura mission, all the while having to keep up an appearance he only kept up for Komaru, even then, it wasn't 24/7. Now he had friends who knew someone fake. He had to be normal while also doing his job. Makoto is on the break of tears frfr Idk, just got excited by this.

It would be great if in this AU Makoto would be able to prevent Hajime from being turned, or orchestrate his rescue somehow.

I wonder who would be the first to catch on that Makoto is a spy.

-Byakuya might already know or be quickly suspicious considering the connections his family has.

-Kyoko would definitely suspect something the moment there is a whiff of anything strange going on. Maybe Makoto tries to avoid her the most because he knows that she could figure him out. But then that might make her more suspicious. I feel like this would have a good ending though, cuz if Makoto tells her what he knows of the Kamukura project they could work together.

-Then there’s Sayaka the “psychic” who might keep accidentally getting close to the truth of a situation, freaking the hell out of Makoto.

-Of course, the funniest part hung would be of Yasuhiro was the one to find out first by means of fortune telling. He could try and tell the others, but since his desperate for money, maybe he would tell Makoto what he knows and offer his clairvoyance for a price. And makoto is forced to go along with it so that he can keep an eye on Yasuhiro. This has the most potential Buddy-cop story lol.

But back to the angst a bit, I imagine his friendship would be altered from canon. Putting a wall between him and the smarter classmates like Kyoko and Celeste. If Byakuya knows the truth because of family connections there could be a very interesting dynamic between the two boys.

Idk this is just what comes to my mind.

Hey! I was wondering what kind of quirks you think would suit the Ultimate Students from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. By the way, this post contains spoilers for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc! Specifically, I'm referring to: Makoto, Sayaka, Kyoko, Byakuya, Chihiro, Mondo, Celestia, Toko/Genocide Jack, Hifumi, Kiyotaka, Junko, Leon, Sakura, Yasuhiro, Mukuro, Aoi, and Monokuma.

In one of the rare examples of this kind of question, it's actually really easy to come up with Quirks for normal people. All their talents are basically super powers, which makes this much easier. Though I will have to veto Makoto and Monokuma. You can't make something like being lucky into a Quirk and Monokuma doesn't have anything remarkable enough to work into a Quirk.

What's the canon FTE theory, explain it in full detail, rant, ramble!!! :0

okay so basically canon FTE theory is the theory that all FTEs have a spot in the canon that takes place over the course of Trigger Happy Havoc to some capacity, whether they happen with Makoto or not. Each character has specific characters they speak to in order for these FTEs to carry out as well, aligning with the events of the game.

For example, Toko's FTEs would canonically be carried out with Makoto, as immediately after maxing out the Toko FTEs you "lose" a potential FTE slot to Toko approaching Makoto specifically to wingman for her with Byakuya, even going so far as to say that she hopes Makoto will know the feeling of being in love one day, something exceedingly out of character for her at this point in time unless there's been an active effort to get to know her.

Another good example of this would be Sakura's FTEs, which would almost definitely be carried out with Hina. Her FTEs consist of her slowly opening up about the history of her martial arts training and eventually talking about her relationship with Kenshiro, all stuff that would be shared with an extremely close friend. And considering that not only do we know for a fact Hina and Sakura spend a lot of one-on-one time together during the game, they also canonically have entire sleepovers and Sakura admits to having considered admitting being the traitor to Hina in chapter 4.

Mondo's FTEs were most likely spent with Taka, during and after the sauna incident. Though to be honest, his first one probably could've happened even before then. The idea of Taka panicking at the idea of getting on a delinquent's motorcycle and Mondo fucking with him a little bit fits their dynamic pre-sauna.

I'm pretty sure Sayaka's, Toko's, Kyoko's, Jack's and Byakuya's all happen through Makoto. I'm still debating on some of the placements for the others, but I'm fairly confident a good few (Chihiro, Sakura, Hiro) happen through Hina specifically. Mukuro's are the only FTEs that likely don't happen at all, but that's purely because we know for a fact they happen in DR: IF and are only completable in school mode anyway.

Obviously I don't think they all translate over 1:1 but I think the major points of the FTEs are likely things the characters would've expressed to the people they felt closer to. Like, did Celeste yap to Hifumi about the magic of luck they both had? No, because Makoto is the one who's got the title Ultimate Lucky Student. Do I think she'd let him exist around her long enough to earn his undying loyalties and falsely declare him C Class? Absolutely. That's basically the idea of FTE theory; not a perfect translation, but the FTEs exist to give us an idea of what's happening in the characters' heads we as an audience wouldn't get to see ourselves. I'll list who I think goes with who for reference
