And this is why you continue to listen to metal and underground bands and artists in general instead of continuing to look to the mainstream for anything. The original bands mentioned in the post were not "mainstream" they had a song blow up or an album blow up but before that and after that happened they continued to be ignored by radios and tv in favor for clean music . Within temptation is a symphonic metal band from Europe that has been going on and on since the 90's about climate change, war, human rights, women's rights etc every other song starts with a recording of revolutionary leader or speach or even think peice written by the band. just last month they released an album commenting on women's oppression in iran and also the war in Ukraine to name a few topics they talked about. Motionless in white is another band that to this day gets protests outside of thier venues from right wingers and christians calling for the death of the members and the fans Because they dare be angry about the state of thier country and how people are being abused under the cult of religion. "One mutilation under god" is a line form thier recent album that restarted the "uproar" from the right wingers again to the point that they go in droves to stand outside concert lines to tell people they will go to hell!! hell in the same song they encourage people to revolt and fight back . Like these bands still exsist and still very much write scathing angry songs and still get as popular as they can despite every promoting outlet out there favouring "clean" easily consumable music. And this is just of the top of my head and slightly biased because i listen to metal mainly but Look beyond the radio and charts and social media algorithms and you will find your hidden gems in droves in every genre talking about politics and criticizing and caling for action just like Linkin park and Evanescence did ( evanescence still do btw)
P.s im not Americans so names of particular political sides might escape me.

I know Eurovision was like 3 days ago at this point but måneskin is my current obsession and there were so many good songs this year so here’s my top 5 plus some honorary mentions because the rest of the songs were either just ok or not great.
Honorary mentions:
Ukraine- hell yeah the pagan ritual vibes were off the charts. I love songs where I have no idea what the fuck they’re saying and it goes hard so it’s definitely in my top 10
Malta- I did really like Malta’s song but I think it did worse than predicted purely because of the sheer number of radio friendly pop songs this year. Destiny has such a nice voice though so I hope she makes more music soon
Switzerland- I didn’t really care about Switzerland that much but the song really grew on my between semi final 2 and the final.
Ok now for my top 5
5. Denmark- I’m still bitter that they didn’t qualify. Apparently they were 11th in semi final 2 and if it was just up to audience votes they would’ve qualified so fuck the juries. Their song is just so fun and you can tell they’re having a great time. Plus I love the vibes even though idk what the hell they’re saying
4. Lithuania- damn the roop are good I need to check out more of their stuff. Their song last year was one of my favourites and I’m so glad they were back this year with more iconic dance moves
3. Finland- hell yeah this song is so good. Gives me big linkin park vibes and I love how the band describes themselves as “violent pop” and I mean they’re not wrong
2. Italy- our winners! I LOVE their song it’s just amazing. I’ve been obsessed with måneskin the last few days and literally every song they have is great (even the slower ones- I’m not usually a huge fan of slower songs). I’m genuinely so happy they won (sorry Barbara and Gjon you were great but I did not want either of you to win)
1. Iceland- the winners of my heart I love these nerds (affectionate) so much. I’m so glad Daði came back this year because his song last year was phenomenal and he managed to do it again this year. I was so sad when they couldn’t perform live but honestly considering how amazing the competition was 4th place is a win in my books. I do wish they did better but I’d accepted that they probably weren’t going to win so I was really happy with 4th place. I love Daði’s music and I can’t wait to see him on tour next year! (Was meant to see him in April this year but it was cancelled :( ). Daði og gagnamagnið, you will always be my winners :)
In conclusion, this years eurovision was so fun, definitely the best one I’ve ever watched, truly an amazing comeback. Well done to everyone and well done Italy and Måneskin, your win was well deserved. Can’t wait for next year!

Eurovision 2021 morning-after recap
Holy shit I’ve missed this.
Belgium had a dark, moody song that got lost in the shuffle. I didn’t forget you, don’t worry.
Russia had a woman in massive dress. Halfway through the song, a door opened up in the dress so she could escape. Nice change of pace from them.
Greece tried to cheat by using greenscreens. The effects failed and we had weird semi-transparent dancers. I wish they had tanked, honestly.
Last time I mocked Germany for not getting a single point from the public. In truth, I was jealous of them. Luckily this year, us lads in the UK blew them out of the water by not getting a single point, period.
Speaking of Germany, they definitely went full-Eurovision this year. Seriously, go watch this. Use a VPN if you have to. They may have lost the race to the bottom of the scorecard, but they won my heart and helped keep the contest as great as it is.
It was a bit of a slow start, but acts 12-24 were essentially a non-stop rollercoaster of Eurovision brilliance. Don’t even have time to cover every great performance because this year’s competition was so strong.
Iceland sent a super quirky love song featuring bright blue sweaters, excessive poses, and synth keyboards that could combine into a megakeyboard. They couldn’t perform live at the finals due to a band member contracting covid, unfortunately.
Finland brought Linkin Park back with their performance. I liked it.
Lithuania sent an act that did goofy dance moves in mustard yellow outfits. Well deserved high score from the the public.
Ukraine fucking killed it with dark and intense electro-folk. Low score from the Jury unfortunately, but the public fucking loved it. This and Finland are my two biggest earworms of the night.
People are lumping France in with tradition Eurovision ballads, but I don’t think they deserve that at all. Utterly captivating performance, would have been very happy she had won.
Norway’s gunning for the costume disaster award, I see. I think they just might have won it too.
Italy sent Italian rock. It’s great and they’re pretty hot.
Rip Flo Rida
Oh hey it’s Måns
Oh hey it’s Lordi
Yeah this set of interval acts were kinda weak.
FOUR NUL POINTS IN A ROW. Everyone laugh at the UK, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
These are the closest votes we’ve had in a very long time. Jesus christ.
Greece and Cyrpus are still the OTP of Eurovision.
ROCK AND ROLL NEVER DIES!
The mad lads from Italy sang the uncensored version of their song for the winning performance. Fuck yes
Incredible how four of the top five performances were songs sung in non-English languages. Traditionally, singing in English has been a massive advantage in Eurovision.
The show opened with a lesbian kiss and closed with a gay kiss. Amazing bookends.
Graham Norton slowly lost his mind over the course of the four hours. Was a treat to watch, as always.
If you need to watch five acts from Eurovision 2021 (and really, you should), I’d recommend Italy, France, Iceland, Ukraine and Finland. Maybe also Germany.

EUROVISION 2021, personal favorites:
- Russia 🇷🇺
Manizha, Russian Woman: Absolute favorite. The sheer originality of the song! Her energy and the level of absolute badassery! She can sing, she can rap,and she's a bomb of energy. The way reggae and brass and hiphop and Slavic melodies overlap and it somehow works, the transitions between fun and "I'm bitter about the sexism and I'm mocking it unapologetically and making a stand" and the anthemic, emphatic and powerful message to Russian women; I was swelling with emotion while watching her. While to an American or a Westerner it may seem like performative feminism, I'm gonna remind you that in Russia and other Slavic countries that's very much not a thing and actually a very unpopular stand to make, and in Russia, The Balkans, and Eastern Europe in general, hundreds of women face domestic and sexual abuse on the daily, and those who do come forward rarely get support and are mostly dismissed. Let's not forget that Manizha got a huge backlash from the Russian government officials, and a big part of it was for her Tajik roots. The honesty of her message is real, and she's speaking from personal experience and the experience of women around her - nothing performative about her song, and you can tell from her delivery that the fire within her is true and she leaves her heart on the stage and pours it into the song. The staging and costumes are great as well, and symbolically well thougt-through. I would really like her to win, or at least get to the top 5. Most of all, I hope her message is heard and felt. 10000/10
- Italy 🇮🇹
Måneskin, Zitti e Buoni: definitely the closest thing to my actual music taste this year, so liking them off the bat wasn't a surprise. However, they're not just your regular Franz-Ferdinand-ish young alt rock band that wants to do rock "properly" - they have IT. The X factor, the Je ne sais quoi. I've been exposed to that particular genre, and I can confidently say that the song still manages to be refreshing and original (that bridge, those riffs!) The band has a great energy and no matter how much Damiano steals the show, they are still a unit and nobody is left in the shadows. They have the spirit of great rock bands of the previous century, and yet they don't try to copy anyone (khm,Greta Van Fleet, khm). Damiano's vocals are both powerful, seductive and provoking, and I'm still admiring the sheer amount of emotion he can pack into a single line and the nuance and yet rawness behind it. I'm not gonna state the obvious lol (the obvious being yes, I'm thirsty as well, he becomes yet another unattainable rockstar for me too,and yes they all look great) Anyway, great song, and maybe the clearest and most serious candidate for the number one spot, taking both the jury and the public into consideration. 10/10
- Iceland 🇮🇸
Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið, 10 years:
What can I say about this masterpiece that hasn't already been said? A clear fan-favorite (hi, Valentina), but with the guns to back it up. The song is contagious, fun and campy, and unlike some other songs with said qualities, actually good from a musical perspective. Daði is incredibly charismatic and his sense of humor shines through, and even though he's the star of the show, the same can be said about the other band members. The synergy Måneskin has can be applied to Gagnamagnið as well, even though the energy is entirely different. They're serving us fun, sunshine, kitties rainbows sugar spice and everything nice, and manage to do it with zero cringe factor (plus those funky keytars). I'm one of those Eurovision fans that lament the golden age's (2004-2009) campiness (We'll never forget you, Verka), and Daði managed to bring it back, but modernised, polished and still sincere. I personally preferred the epic dad joke that slightly more commercial Think About Thing was (but that's one tough act to follow), but I'm always down for a husband adoring his wife and singing praises to their relationship. Since we're on tumblr, I feel obliged to use the term "cinnamon rolls" in describing Daði and the band. 9.5/10
- France 🇫🇷
Barbara Pravi, Voilà: She brought the theatrics, she brought the drama, and she brought the 101 in "that's how you perform". Her personality leaps through, and her voice is both beautiful and full of emotion and power. I'd hire her to star in a serious and artistic movie. Despite the fact that Voilà is from its melody to the singing style to the video to the vibe and the aesthetic hands down the most French thing I've seen since Amélie (do not come for that movie), it miraculously doesn't come across as a cliché, but rather an homage, and an individualistic one at that. It's not entirely my cup of tea, since I'm usually biased to songs that may come off as snobbish (I mean, the jury is going to lap it up), and are all about being proper and technical and oh how ~artistic~, but Barbara puts the soul into the immaculate. I'm not giving her the highest mark because I'm yet to see the performance, but I'm rooting for her. If she delivers the performance, we might have a clear winner. 9/10
- Ukraine 🇺🇦
Go_A, Shum: I'm a sucker for all things ethnic and mytological, so this was a no-brainer. I want that song played at every party. I want to go to the forest in the video and chant and summon the spring with flute and hard-bass. Kateryna Pavlenko has some unexplainable power over me, and her eyes are simply hypnotizing. The vocals are great, proper Slavic ethno right there (seriously, check out Slavic folklore and traditional music), and she has a subtle punk quality too(?). Ukraine came to save the spring and make us forget about the pandemic, and minus the Maruv fiasco (justice for her!), they always deliver and I expected nothing less. On the other hand, I loved the original version much more and couldn't help but be a bit disappointed with the revamp (yes, I know they had to), and while I personally love Shum, I think some other acts are more deserving of the higher placement. Go_A are not my winner, but definitely soon to be in my playlist. 8/10
- San Marino 🇸🇲
Adrenalina, Senhit ft. Flo Rida: You know that golden age of Eurovision I mentioned? THIS. I'm Serbian, so I can't resist a banger reminiscent of our horrible turbo-folk elements (and I say that endearingly, takes me back to 18th birthday parties (boy I'm glad that's over)). Let's just crown Senhit this year's Queen of Camp. The wild factor of Flo Rida...just?? Amazing. Can't wait to see how the performance goes (EDIT- it went great, I had a grin on my face the entire time and couldn't help but dance along). A certain refreshment after Serhat and Valentina Monetta endless loop. They didn't dial down the weird, but made it catchy af, and the vocal can rival any Balkan folk diva. While I think it's definitely the most entertaining entry this year, it's far from being the most original, and it's not really my genre of preference. Will vote for Senhit and root for her to qualify. 7.5/ 10
- Sweden 🇸🇪
Tusse, A million voices: As I mentioned before, I'm the first person that starts complaining about Sweden Superiority as soon as Eurovision season begins, and I'm with you all with being tired of Sweden qualifying just because they're Sweden and usually just bringing the same brand of MTV/Calvin Harris/American pop, or a successful and not-so-subtle imitation of the performances that did well the previous year, but listen: A million voices is a solid pop song and I'm going to die on that hill. It actually embodies the essence of pop - a catchy, pleasant melody sung by a good vocalist, with a short, sweet and uplifting message. It's not the same as previous years, it's not commercial, just good pop - good pop being something you immediately like and vibe to no matter how many common elements of the genre it checks. It relies on RnB rather than electronic sounds, auto tune or various DJ effects. Tusse is charming and charismatic af, and he's a 19yo kid doing an amazing job on a global stage. You don't have to like it, but there's no need to hate on it (ask Jendrik). Imo, Tusse deserved to qualify. Not winner material yet, but I wish him a fun time and a successful career. 7 5/10
- Switzerland 🇨🇭
G'jons Tears, Tout L'Univers: I saw the video first, and I HATED IT. It came across as a Duncan Lawrence-high-art wannabe, something technically perfect, but empty of soul or meaning, another soft boy with a sad falsetto, another jury-points bait. BUT. I changed my mind entirely after seeing him perform. Hands down, it was touching and epic. Reminding me of Hamlet aside, he DELIVERED, and made me love him, and actually enjoy the song. I still think the song is less original than Tusse's voices, but I enjoy the troubadour vibes of the pre-chours. G'jon is absolutely adorable, and I'm not gonna be mad if he wins. 8/10
shout-outs&honorable mentions:
- Serbia 🇷🇸 Yes, some national bias, but I'm proud of our girls. Ever Since we placed 2nd with Željko's Lane, we had that goddamn flute e v e r y year, and the same outdated scenography with a side of extra pathos (I'm sure that ruined Sanja's chances and her otherwise great performance back in 2016.) Finally something fun and actually representative of the music popular here. They looked flawless and the energy was off the charts. Go, Hurricane!
-Finland 🇫🇮 Yes, cheesy and corny and I cut my finger accidentally from watching the video on all the edge, but I'm biased because they're bringing emo and nu-metal back, and that's the music of my early adolescence (hello, Kaulitz brothers and Andy Biersack, hello Gerard Way and Linkin Park) Call me grandma lol
- Malta 🇲🇹 DESTINY CAN SIIIIIIIIING! I wasn't impressed with the song initially, but the performance blew my mind.
- Ireland 🇮🇪 A for effort, and so nice of her to try and give us something unique! While it wasn't good enough to qualify, it was super fun and she seems so nice. Also, we all know that she was out of breath an can sing much better than that. Still wasn't bad.
- Romania 🇷🇴, for being so young and brave enough to put on a show. The nerves got the better of her, but the song itself is good and no doubt she'll do well in the future
- Lithuania 🇱, thanks for the memeries
- Croatia 🇭🇷, Not my cup of tea, but Albina gave a great performance
-Norway 🇳🇴, for embodying the spirit of Eurovision
- North Macedonia 🇲🇰, for the disco chest
- The UK 🇬🇧, for putting some effort

So I read your ESC 2021 opinions. I agree with half of it, especially Cyprus. Maybe it's coz I'm atheist? Aside from that, it's basically rip off Lady Gaga, which I hated the most. Personally, if the two Amens didn't qualify, then neither should Fallen Angel or El Diablo. Another thing is the Big 5. Whether the songs are good or bad, they scream privileged and unfair to me. I get it's a money thing, but the fact that they go straight to the finals? Pass. I want Iceland to win, tho.
cyprus ripped off someones music video too but like, i like some lady gaga songs and i dont think theres too much off a thing like, esp in music. same could be said about finland and linkin park but i loved their song bcs i love lp.
the thing about fallen angel is the spectacle, which is what esc is all about. tix has gone full cringe and i respect him for it. the two amens were forgettable, performance-wise.
and about big 5(or 3, depending on year) yeah everybody hates it. everybody hates jury votes too, none of the public favs won for the last 10 years or so since they made it 50/50(used to be 25/75 i think, back when bands like lordi can win)
from the big 5 this year all i can confidently say is italy would've made it anyways, at this point the b5 entries are just big jokes. insulting big jokes.
yeah im rooting for ukraine, italy, iceland and finland. if any of them gets a win ill be pleasantly surprised. after last year iceland def deserves a win, im just sad that they brought in dadi(with the weird "d") the same year as maneskin(with the weird "a")

same anon with the nationality question here: are you going to watch Eurovision? if yes, what are your favourite countries from this year? mine's San Marino 🇸🇲
careful, nonnie, eurovision was, is and always will be my number one obsession and i really don't want to turn this blog into a eurovision one xD
right, so my top five goes like this: 1. italy - i abso-fucking-lutely love this song. i actually want to start learning italian because of it 2. finland - i guess you can see a pattern here xD i love all kinds of rock, metal and punk, and these guys remind me of a mix between linkin park & limp bizkit 3. ukraine - besides the genres mentioned above, i am in love with folk-inspired music, and ukraine's entry sounds so ritualistic and mysterious 4. russia - i gotta admit, i preferred last year's entry, but this one's a bop, too 5. moldova - honestly, it's just a funky fresh song and makes me wanna dance
now i'm obviously rooting for romania, but i wouldn't mind if any of those songs wins

ian’s eurovision opinions 2021
hi nobody else cares about eurovision that i know of but i have Thoughts so here we go putting all of them here
France: I’m bored. At least it’s in French so I’m not as distracted by how bored I am as I was with last year
Romania: I actually like this one! I honestly hated Alcohol You last year but this one’s nice.
Czech Republic: Benny pls dont revamp this one lmao. I like it a lot! Idk that it’s a winner but I’m glad it’s here and it’s fun.
San Marino: Can’t wait to finally have Eurovision in Valentina’s backyard. Also Flo Rida? Lmfao wild
Germany:
The Netherlands: It’s neat and Jeangu sings well, but I think I liked Grow better.
Albania: THIS is the Balkan Bop I always require at Eurovision.
Moldova: Somebody called this Maruv but Kawaii and they’re not wrong
Slovenia: Ana’s vocal tone is so interesting but I’m just bored with her songs
Serbia: YES. BITCH. Also love that they continue to not compromise and sing in their native language.
Israel: I think I still love Feker Libi more but this one is very fun and good still
Ireland: Story of My Life was way more fun I think but I think juries might like this more so v-v
Belgium: I just do not like Hooverphonic and I don’t like them after the dumbass comments they made last year
Norway: I am a salty Keiino stand ngl. The staging for this song is so fucking corny for how serious the song is and idk if I like that disconnect. If you’re gonna be camp the song needs to be camp too!
Italy: All these dudes are in fishnets so principal I love it. I’m hit or miss with Italy’s entries usually bc they’re boring ballads a lot but stuff like this and Mahmood are some of my favs. I hope they do well.
Cyprus: Ehhh? It’s not bad and I’ll prob put it on my playlist but idk if I’m super crazy about this one.
Spain: I’M BORED.........
Finland: The opening of this song is 100% a ripoff of the intro to Crawling by Linkin Park but I will always cape hard for any hard rock/metal entries in this godforsaken contest so we must stan
Croatia: Holy shit Croatia finally sent a song I like!!! I’M SO HAPPY FOR THEM
Estonia: Better than last year, still not very good imo
Lithuania: I love The Roop and if they aren’t at least top 5 I will burn all of Europe down to the ground
Ukraine: I. Fucking. Love. Go_A. So. Goddamn. Much. Shum is so fucking good. Ukraine basically never disappoints though.
Portugal: It’s very pretty but idk if I’m jazzed about it? I tend to not gravitate towards super quiet songs like this for Eurovision normally tho
Denmark: Oh boy euro synthwave how revolutionary
Australia: I just do not like indie shit and Montaigne’s music just is not for me I think

Bean’s Eurovision 2021 Top 5!
(aka Bean’s Eurovision 2021 Song Ranking: Part 5)
This is the S-tier for me, and I would be ecstatic if any of the following artists won.
5) Manizha - Russian Woman [Russia]
Tumblr media
I genuinely don’t understand how, Russia being the way it is, this pro-LGBT Tajik refugee utter goddess managed to catapult her modern feminist anthem to winning the Russian national competition. Maybe after charming everyone with internet darlings / rave trolls Little Big last year, Russia decided a conventional Eurovision act was for squares? Or maybe Manizha is just that good? Honestly probably a bit of both. This song is a tour de force. If you’re like me you might need multiple listens to be ready for it, because it exists somewhere outside of conventional genre expectations, but I promsie it’s worth it. If it wouldn’t be insulting to Manizha I would suggest it comes from an alternate universe where electronic music is more freeform and you could combine Russian girl-rap with a sick synth guitar (sitar??) drop without it being weird. I feel I need to mention again how good that drop is. It’s not a dubstep-type drop, but when that first beat kicks in you feel the energy, and it makes the subsequent slowdown for the lyrical belts (”Борются, борются Все по кругу борются, да не молятся”) all the more impactful. That her message reduced so many Russian viewers (and a fucking cultural committeeperson) to pearl-clutching only proves how much it’s needed. People hate to see an immigrant woman win. But, have you seen her? She’s fierce and she cannot be shut up <3
4) 10 Years - Daði og Gagnamagnið [Iceland]
Tumblr media
If you follow my tumblr you’ve probably seen me reblog stuff about Daði Freyr, because I think he’s delightful and I love everything he does. In the wake of Hatari’s BDSM-with-a-message shaking the world in 2019, Iceland swung in the complete opposite direction in the best possible way by introducing us to Daði Freyr, potentially one of the most wholesome musicians of all time, and his high-school-found-family-turned-band-Gagnamagnið. Their 2020 song Think About things was written as a sort of letter of hope and acceptance to Freyr’s young daughter who’s too young to form opinions. It’s utterly charming and probably would have (deservedly) won last year’s Eurovision if the pandemic hadn’t caused it to be cancelled. 10 Years, in turn, is a love letter to Freyr’s wife, with whom he’s been married a decade. Freyr’s style is both unusual and distinctive: smooth and simple yet irrestibly catchy vocals, funky brass fills, and the gorgeous experimental synths of a self-trained internet hobbyist. His attachment to his old-school 8bit aesthetic makes him not just endearing to my own nerdy biases, but refreshing to a generation of Eurovision viewers tired of the overproduced and inauthentic bombastic power ballads of yesteryear. Freyr is clearly the musical genius of the group (as evidenced by his frequent covers, streams, and other fun experimental breadcrumbs he clearly releases just for the sheer fun of music) but I also love that he’s always surrounded by his buds. That one in the front is his wife :) You can tell they’re friends, you can tell they’re having such fun, and it’s a straight rush of serotonin to me and anyone else who goes buckwild for found family in fiction. I want to play video games with him. 🎵How does it keep getting better????👯‍♂️
3) Discoteque - The Roop [Lithuania]
Tumblr media
The Roop’s Discoteque is the ultimate theme song for dancing by yourself in your room. That is it, I have condensed its essence into one sentence for you. It’s really not hard to get the appeal of that. Haven’t we all been trapped in our rooms for the past year? Don’t we all need to be told that “it is ok to dance alone”? I feel like The Roop made the accompanying dance simplistic for other viewers on purpose. Discoteque is for everyone. Discoteque is a sealed package of pure fun, and it’s addressed to everyone who has heard the chorus of this song. Even though everyone is isolated in their own home right now, we can do the dance ourselves, and it is ok to dance alone. Dance alone, dance alone, dance alone.... 🕺
2) SHUM - Go_A [Ukraine]
Tumblr media
Songs like SHUM are the reason that Eurovision exists: a blend between Ukrainian folk (heralding the beginning of spring) and utterly banging hard techno. Where the fuck else would I find Ukrainian technofolk? And more importantly, where else would I find one that goes this hard? There’s a reason why in the past week I have seen videos of almost every Eurovision performer dancing to SHUM, and it’s because SHUM is a fucking banger. I’ve already posted that I think I played this song so much my neighbours are getting sick of it, and I’m trying to teach myself the Ukrainian lyrics. It’s not out of effort, really, it’s just because if you like EDM at all you will fall in love with this song and have it in your brain constantly, and next thing you know you’re learning Ukrainian folk tales about the metaphorical resonance of sowing hemp. It’s such a good song purely on a musical level that anything else it could offer is just extreneous, frankly. But we also have Kateryna Pavlenko’s god-tier cyberpunk queen aesthetic, Ihor’s brilliant flute-playing, and a genuinely very punk video of the band visiting Chernobyl to benefit from Go_A too. The band that never stops serving.
1) Dark Side - Blind Channel [Finland]
Tumblr media
Ok, look, nobody is surprised to see me simp for the Finnish nu-metal band. But give me a few paragraphs to convince you that they (or at least this song) merit just a bit of simping. As a treat. From the perspective of Eurovision this song came pure out of left field: electronic pop and hard rock in a harmonious marriage the likes of which the music scene hasn’t seen in decades. Apparently they like to use the term “violent pop” to describe themselves. In many ways the feel like a Linkin Park revival, if maybe a bit more energetic: dark, emotionally vulnerable, and the kind of thing you would belt out in the shower on a bad day. It is also technically perfect. Considering the simplicity of the lyrics it’s easy to overlook all of the compositional details at play here, but from the vocal effects to every guitar riff to the drum solo in the bridge to the sheer energy of the performance, everything is both perfectly engineered to be musically effective yet authentically hard rock as fuck. These boys may have the aesthetic of someone who spends their days crawling out of dive bar dumpsters (affectionate) but they are extremely hardworking with their craft and I wasn’t surprised to see the release of their mini-documentary wherein it’s obvious they are working themselves ragged and should probably be getting more sleep. Not to forget, of course, the message of Dark Side. This song is a tribute to the outsider, to feeling lonely, to being emotionally stuck and needing release. It embodies catharsis. Every human out there (even though some may claim not to) know what it’s like to want to stick your middle finger up at everyone. And it’s that often-maligned part of you this band is channeling with this amazing rock song. I want Dark Side to win because I think, after 2020, what we as a society collectively need is to put our middle finger up, take a shot, throw it up and don’t stop.

Yes, I am sure😅😂
Yuuup, definitely poor dude 😅😖
Well, the SPN fandom is a place of crazies and madness, soo🤷🏻‍♀️😉😂
Wasn't that the scene in the OG Naruto? But Shipuuden had flashbacks of Naruto hanging out with Shikamaru and Choji🤔 Ah, whatever, I'm starting to get confused😂😂😂🙈
Yeah, I never understood that either, like the Third Hokage even PROMISED Minato and Kushina to protect Naruto and showcase him as a hero😅🤦🏻‍♀️
HAHAHAHAHA that is quite ironic😂 But didn't the newest pope even speak up several times about ACCEPTING such stuff? (I might be remembering this wrong, I don't really keep up with what which religion is currently in favor of but I think he said sth a few years ago?)🤔😅
Yes, worry about you... Calling that "entertaining" is quite worrying😅🙈
Yes, RL is like that, NOT fanfics😭
😂😂😂😂 I suppose? 😂😂😂😂
Hmm, not sure if the theory will ever be addressed🤔😅
Yeaaah...Most fillers are annoying tho some were indeed nice🤔😅
Hahaha, they'd throw the most awesomest of parties😂😍
...Please don't remind me of Scott and Malia, that was just random and weird...🙈😅
You're welcome?😅😂
Naah, I'll accept suggestions but most often then not, I'll choose, so kinda yeah😂 Everybody else just gotta shut their cakeholes😉😉
Honestly, Keith and Jim are two of my absolutely most loved things ever right now😂😂 I could watch them be silent and make gestures in interviews all day every day😂😂 (Imagine those Space puppies meeting our Karamel Space puppies😂 I feel like Keith, Jim and Mon (and Winn) would get along brilliantly😂😂😉)
Uhh, now that you say it, Linkin Park fans really do seem to be Skillet fans, too🤔🤔 Maybe because the vibe of both bands' older songs is kinda similar?🤔🤔
Ohh, Sleeping at Last is kinda an opposite to the rest😂🤷🏻‍♀️ They usually have more calming even kinda sad songs🤔😅 You might know their song "Saturn" tho, that one seems pretty widely known🤔
Ohh, FictionJunction and Two Steps from Hell?😱😍 I'll need to check out the rest when I have time tho, I'm really bad with titles and names, so not sure if I know them😅🙈
😂😂😂 medical harassment, Huh?😉
Thanks😊
Btw, OMG HAVE YOU READ THE NEW CHAPTER SHE UPLOADED, LIKE, OMG, IT WAS SO UNEXPECTED AND AHAHSHSHSHSHDKFLFLFLDNDBDKSÖSÖSNEBEKDODLDDK I WAS TOTALLY SCREAMING AND HYPER-ENERGIZED AFTER GETTING THE NOTIFICATION😍😍😍 (already read it twice, but still gotta read again and finally get around to commenting🙈🙈) I AM STILL SOOO HYPED EVEN THO IT'S BEEN HOURS😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
XXX
Don't believe ya :)))))
SPN fandom made me realize how incest is popular in some spaces.... and my life was not the same since then....
I think it was during the flashbacks of their first big ass battle? When Naruto was for the first time remembering how their relationship started. I think? It was long time ago and I ERASED the memory of that manga/anime from my brain =='
And here we ended, with Naruto hated by the whole village and Sasuke alone, miserable and cultivating a big ass piss at his brother. Splendid!
He was telling some progressive stuff and then told some shit about Ukraine and well, pissed me off :))) but I guess he is better than the last two. What is not a big... improvement, but whatever.
I'm innocent! You are creating some weird stuff about me in your head!
Probably it won't. That's how the producers approach their shows *glares at the SG*
Scott and Malia was the perfect example of how they fucked up perfectly working ships (Stalia and Scira) for fanonship (frucking sty dia) and realized they don't have a ship for the main hero, so they put him with his FRIEND, even when there was nothing romantic. Ever. Because friendships between males and females can't exist right??? I'm still so pissed :/
Lol, best pals for lives xD Seriosuly, we need more weirdos in our lives XD
Yeah, and some of the other bands you sent me have that vibe too, I guess it's similar genre? Not sure, because aside of the Linkin Park, I don't listen to this type too much. Still good music :D As for Skillet, there is something in their music that doesn't make me their fan, but can't tell what exactly.
Nope, sorry, I don't know that song, bands like them are not really popular here and I have never really dug into them.
FictionJunction is just perfect. And Two Steps From Hell made a lot of pieces that help me creating the space opera ideas xD they are very... epic xD
medical harassment - fuck yeah.
Nooooo, still didn't have time for that, but will soon :D Happy you are happy and for sure LW is going to be happy too xDDD
