Hello! Idk if your requests are open (I think they are) and if you feel comfortable with this (it's absolutely okay if you don't <3) but I was thinking Remus X Latina!reader dating headcannons, I'm white but idc if you want to make it mixed/brown/black Latina. Also I'm from Argentina but again any country works.
Thank you so much darling🤍
Hi sweets! Thanks so much for your request. I've never done something like this before, so I hope this is what you were looking for!
Remus Lupin x Latinx!reader Headcanons (but doesn't specify gender, race, or home country - can be read to fit any nationality if you substitute the language)
He’d love listening to you talk. Either in English or in Spanish, it wouldn't doesn’t matter as long as it was your voice and your accent that he’s listening to
I think he’d make a point of mostly watching your lips as you spoke; how they moved around certain sounds and vowels, if your tongue made an appearance in any of the words you said – just completely mesmerized by your mouth
He’d beg you to teach him Spanish words, and he'd secretly revel in the sound of you laughing at him for his horrid pronunciation (even if he pretended it offended him)
He’d present it to you like a bargain: you teach him Spanish words and he’ll teach you Welsh words
He would absolutely relish in stories, any stories. Your stories of your home country/visiting your parent’s home country etc. etc. He loved family dinners at your home (after the first initial visit when he had no idea what to expect) where he’d get to listen to your parents, grandparents etc. share stories of their experiences and childhoods and culture. Bonus points if anyone whipped out a photo album – our poor Welsh boy didn’t have a lot of money and never dreamed of getting to experience anywhere other than the UK, so it felt like he got to travel through you and your family sharing these stories with him
I headcanon Remus to be a huge trinket guy – so if you went on holiday to your home country etc., and brought him back something trivial (like a shot glass, post cards, magnets, little statues, snow globes etc.) he’d treasure it, like he would just think that’s so special and would be so honoured to have something that was a) from so far away, b) was from a different culture and c) that made you think of him??? That man would melt.
If you guys lived together, he would insist you teach him how to cook some of your favourite traditional foods – partly because he wanted to eat yummy food, partly because he wanted to spoil you, but mostly it would be so he could spend an afternoon/evening alone with you in the kitchen, soaking up each other’s company.

So it looks like Liam kept clean until he did the US visa test and then went into a bender.
www thescottishsun co uk/tvandshowbiz/13727992/liam-payne-drugs-supplied-hotel-tests-clean/
"LIAM Payne was plied with drugs supplied by a hotel worker just 24 hours after being told he was clean, cops believe.
Argentine investigators suspect the drugs found in the tragic One Direction star’s Buenos Aires hotel room were sourced in a poverty-stricken neighbourhood 15 miles away.
An address in the city of Lomas de Zamora is said to match up with a man suspected of being involved in supplying the substance, sources say.
Police are investigating two hotel staff in connection with the deals including a cleaner at the CasaSur boutique hotel.
It is believed they hid the drugs in a Dove Soap box which can be seen in pictures inside Liam’s room.
A pal of Liam’s last night told The Sun the star had been given the all-clear on a drugs test last Tuesday - the day before he plunged 45ft to his death from his third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
The pop star had "tried really hard to get clean", the pal claimed before being "preyed upon" by the hotel workers.
They said dad-of-one Liam had entered Argentina on September 30 with the aim of renewing his American visa.
They claim that when Liam spoke to US embassy officials, they queried his previous stints in rehab and said he needed to take a drug test to prove he was clean to have his renewal approved.
They added: “The embassy said Liam needed to do a strict investigation including X-rays and a blood test to search for traces of drugs.
He was examined by a US Embassy-certified doctor and last Tuesday collected his results, which showed he was clean, the friend said."
Yet again blaming service workers as if they spiked his drink or something. He could have refused.

Under-18s should not be pushed into pop stardom, one of the UK’s leading songwriters has said, in the wake of the tragic death of former One Direction star Liam Payne.
As Payne’s father, Geoff, arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to arrange the repatriation of his son’s body, fans were still taking in the news of the 31-year-old’s fall from a third-floor hotel balcony. Many also joined the Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy, an ex-partner, in decrying the lurid coverage of Payne’s death scene in some news outlets.
Speaking this weekend, Guy Chambers, the songwriter and friend of Robbie Williams, has called for the industry to hold back from working with talent under the age of 18. “I do think putting a 16-year-old in an adult world like that is potentially really damaging. Robbie experienced that, certainly,” he told the Observer.
The need for better protection for vulnerable young male pop stars has gained urgency in the aftermath of Payne’s death, prompted by criticism of the music industry’s treatment of the former teenage star, who had spoken of his struggles to find mental stability after his sudden fame as a member of One Direction.
The band was formed on ITV’s The X Factor in 2010, when a 16-year-old Payne came back for a second audition on the talent show and joined up with Harry Styles and fellow members. One of the show’s judges was Tweedy, with whom he later had a child, Bear, who is now seven. Payne had first auditioned for the show aged only 14.
Louis Theroux, executive producer of the upcoming BBC series Boybands Forever has spoken of the perils of “getting everything you dreamed of, and it not being what you imagined”.
Theroux’s new series, which goes out on BBC2 in the middle of next month and was made with his wife, Nancy Strang, will look at both the dramatic highs of gaining instant fame and the contrasting depths of despair it can prompt. With “searingly honest” contributions from Williams, formerly of Take That, and Brian McFadden of Westlife, it focuses on the earlier years of the boyband phenomenon in Britain and Ireland, from the 1990s to the late 2000s.
Talking about his year-long work on the show, Theroux said the artists will discuss their “highs and lows” over three episodes that centre “on a generation of young men and their managers, who were wildly successful and also immensely vulnerable, having the times of their lives and, also, in some cases, cracking up.”
Due to the death of Payne, issues the series examines have already prompted leading names in the British music industry to urge action.
Chambers said: “I have four children, so I think about this a lot. I know in Robbie’s case, with Take That, there wasn’t any proper protection set up to look after what were teenage boys. That was a long time ago, but I don’t see much sign of change. There is not much more real care taken, that I have observed, from people involved in the big television talent shows.”
Chambers, who co-wrote the hits Angels and Let Me Entertain You with Williams, believes the entertainment business should set new standards: “I would suggest that people should not be in a boyband until they are 18, and the industry should stick to that, too.”
These worries are echoed by Mike Smith, the former music industry boss at Warner/Chappell, who has also worked at EMI and Columbia. “I am not sure if it is something for legislation, but the longer a young person can postpone a career in music the better,” he said.
“Of course, there is nothing wrong with forming a band in your teens, but my admiration goes out to anyone who comes out of an early professional career in good mental shape. I signed a young Irish band called the Strypes once, and I was uncomfortable with the level of responsibility I felt. People are still immature at 16, so the very thought of going through all that madness when you have no idea who you are yet is alarming.”
However, Smith, who has worked with many bands and singers, including Blur, Robbie Williams, Supergrass and Arctic Monkeys, as well as the X Factor winner Matt Cardle, believes there is now much more caution about handling young singers and songwriters.
“When I was at Warners in 2018, we did improve on this. We set up a fund in the contract of our songwriters to cover their mental health care because we were seeing around 25% of them suffering anxiety or depression – and these were not even the frontline pop stars.
“Around that time, the major music companies were all doing similar things to help – taking people on to the payroll to advise the artists and their staff. That wasn’t around early enough for Robbie, I know, but it is better now, partly because we are having the conversations about it.
“I don’t think I really understood it earlier. But what hasn’t changed, of course, is the incredible pressure these young artists are under. Everyone expects you to be living your best life, but then you find you can’t function. People want you to be happy all the time and you are constantly scrutinised.”
#if you can believe this#i was sent this article by someone who disagrees with it#bc 'thom yorke did well so what's the problem'#'let kids pursue their dreams'#i'm so furious#that we have a track record of hundreds of people who have been through the system who are speaking out#and we have these sideline bros being like 'well these few peeps i know of are fine so whatever stop being square'#how the fuck is anything supposed to improve with these fucks out theregod#music industry

Liam Payne, former One Direction member, dead at 31
Payne’s death occurred Wednesday at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood, according to a statement from police provided to CNN.
Buenos Aires police said that personnel from the 14B Police Station went to the hotel on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call about an aggressive man who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The police’s statement did not identify that person as Payne.
Payne was seen in Argentina attending his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert on October 2, according to videos posted to social media from the show.
He had recently celebrated his 31st birthday in the UK, according to videos posted to his Snapchat. Payne was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands and is the youngest of three. He is an alum of the City of Wolverhampton College, where he studied music technology.
Payne was best known as a member of the famed British boyband One Direction. The band, which also included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Horan, first formed in 2010 after each member appeared on the UK version of reality competition show “The X Factor.”

Hi! I love ur blog <3 can I request blue elf cups for FOTD? Im really interested in how they stain wood
FOTD #028 : blue-green elfcup! (chlorociboria aeruginosa)
the blue-green elfcup / blue-green wood stain is a cup fungus in the family chlorociboriaceae. famous for the stain they leave on the pine & oak wood they inhabit, these fungi are found in south africa, the UK, europe, canada, the US, mexico, costa rica, brazil, argentina, russia, japan, papua new guinea, south korea & australia.
the big question : can i bite it?? nah ; this fungus is inedible.
c. aeruginosa description :
"this species has apothecia (cup-shaped ascocarps) that are usually attached laterally, often less than 0.5 cm in diameter, reaching 0.5-1 cm, collapsing laterally & becoming rolled inwards when dry. the outer tissue layer of the apothecium is bright green & smooth on the top, & felty and pale blue-green on the underside & stipe, darkening with age. the stipe is typically short, with a central or eccentric attachment to the apothecia. spores are roughly spindle-shaped (fusiform), smooth, 9-14 x 2-4 µm. spore print is white."
[images : source, source & source] [fungus description : source]
"THANKS FOR THiS REQUEST, COWTOOL !! these are some of my absolute favourite fungi. they actually occur in my country, too. ^^ i am on a mission to find 'em. oh, btw, the stain occurs due to a pigment in the mycelium : xylindein. this stained wood is often used to make art !!"

Movies I watched this Week #119 (Year 3/Week 15):
Victim (1961) is a landmark Neo-Noir about closeted barrister (And actor) Dirk Bogarde, an important moment of queer film history. It helped change public attitudes about homosexuality, which was still illegal in the UK. It’s also a engaging and well-made thriller about blackmail and oppression. 8/10.
🍿
Azor, my 11th movie from Argentina, was one the best films I’ve seen this year! A tense and subtle thriller, a debut feature by a Swiss filmmaker, it tells of a discreet private banker from Geneva who arrives in Buenos Aires 1980 together with his wife. He needs to reassure his very wealthy clients about the continual services of his bank, as well as to find out what happened to his partner who had disappeared without a trace. The ominous background of the Junta’s dirty war and the lack of any action, makes this an understated study of evil, a masterpiece about the sense of danger. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes - and 10/10 from me.
🍿
(Returning to my first week of these reviews nearly 2.5 years ago:) The kooky screwball comedy Intolerable Cruelty. Why it is considered a minor Coen Brothers masterpiece when it’s so funny and crisp? With surprising Simon & Garfunkel references sprinkled throughout, goofy characters names (Gus Petch, Rex Rexroth, Freddy Bender and asthmatic hit man Wheezy Joe), a 100% quotable dialogue, and non-stop glamorous and hilarious action, it’s 9/10 again in my book.
“You want tact, call a tactician. You want an ass nailed, you come see Gus Petch”.
🍿
3 about young women’s sexual awakenings, all by female directors:
🍿 Girl Picture, a frank coming of age Finnish story of 3 late-teen young women looking for love and sex in the city, directed by an experienced female director. But in spite of their explicit talk about blow jobs and the sprinkling of American slang in their everyday speech, it was tedious and banal. 2/10.
🍿 My Favorite Fabric, my first unexpected film from Syria (!), a patriarchal and unforgiving society. A defiant young woman rents a room in the neighbor's brothel where she can dream about her sexual desires and identity. And all that during the first few months of the frightening uprising of the 2011 Arab Spring.
It would have been just an another exotic coming of age story in an oppressive and harsh milieu, except for her poetic flights of imagination, as she descents into a symbolic world of fantasy. She becomes a witch, a story teller in a reality turning into a nightmare. Grim and depressing - 5/10.
🍿 From an epic r/truefilm thread about ‘Female Directors’, Take care of my cat, (2001) a masterful coming-of-age Korean debut by the then-young Jeong Jae-eun. A sad and wonderful story about 5 girlfriends from the industrial port city of Incheon who struggle to adjust to life in the cold ‘real’ world after graduating from high-school, while also maintaining the friendships with each other. So that Teetee, the stray kitten which one of them receives as a birthday present at the beginning of the film, move hands from one to the other, as each of their fortunes deteriorate. (Photo Above).
A unique and mature vision, nearly in a New Wave style. 8/10.
Bonus: ‘Air Doll’ Bae Doona plays one of the friends!
I found her second feature, The Aggressives, and will watch it next!
🍿
First watch: Elia Kazan’s A face in the crowd, the debut performances of both Andy Griffith and Lee Remick. An early critique of celebrity-fueled influencers in American mass media and television, examining the marriage between entertainment and politics. A charismatic drifting bum found in a country jail becomes the populist 'Demagogue in Denim; of the 1950′s. Based on the Father Coughlin’s and Billy Graham’s of the past, and paving the way to loathsome grifters like Reagan, Limbaugh, and donild drumpf.
🍿
‘Austin Tucker’ X 2:
🍿 “... What would you say for a cup of coffee? - Baa-aah...
After re-visiting the fantastic ‘Marriage Story’ last week, I wanted to see Two for the road for which it was compared. But this tale of a husband and wife on the edge of divorce aged poorly. Very 60′s, with annoying non-linear flash-backs to 5 French trips, each with another snazzy convertible, and snappy fake dialogue. The fact that Albert Finney alpha-male character was a pompous asshole, didn’t help. Featuring William Daniels in an irritating role. 2/10.
🍿 Another re-watch of The Parallax View, a perennial conspiracy favorite, and one the most paranoiac surveillance thrillers from the 70′s. Post JFK and MLK and Bobby Kennedy and all the many others assassinations of that time. Masterful Gordon Willis style, with the 5-minute brainwashing montage, and the famously eery soundtrack.
I’ll always remember the cautious way Austin Tucker comes to meet Joe from behind the boat, shuffling his feet in the most distinct way... 10/10.
🍿
3 more re-watches:
🍿 “I wanna smoke a Molly with you”...
Long Shot, another one I keep watching again and again and again, and I wonder why: It’s a sweet rom-com with a perfectly-calibrated first act, most glamorous former babysitter Charlize Theron who falls for a a guy who’s definitely below her pay grade, and who drinks refrigerated Tequila from a ziplock bag, and a great Boyz II Men sound. But really why?
(Also, Bob Odenkirk’s POTUS here is just a clown). 10/10.
🍿 My first and only by Kevin Smith, Zack and Miri Make a Porno (actually the second, after the 2021 bio-documentary ‘Clerk’). In which we first had to tolerate the thought of Seth Rogen in a (non-masturbatory) sexual role. He just doesn’t seem the romantic lead type. So funny or not, you have to coat it with as much crudeness and porn jokes as possible. Also the 3rd act was just too too obvious. 3/10.
🍿 “Hey Look! It's Enrico Pallazzo!”
John Houseman's final film, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! still a goofy slapstick spoof. Also with the star of ‘O.J.: Made in America’, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Pahpshmir, and Elvis’s wife.
🍿
After the glowing Vox review (”The best Netflix show in recent memory”), and because I’m an Ali Wong fan, I binged on her new Road Rage series Beef. But there were very few moments there that didn’t disappoint: her masturbating with the gun, her hot sex with Steven Yuen’s young brother, and the last episode where they ingest hallucinogenic elderberries and bond with each other. The rest should have been cut into a 2 hour movie. 2/10.
🍿
Money Shot: The Pornhub Story, the new documentary about Mindgeek, the Canadian porn conglomerate. Like all Netflix products is was shallow and unoriginal, but still highlighted issues of privacy, consent and free speech. It gave way too much time to far-right, evangelical organizations (Like NCOSE, MIM) which hate all sex and try to ban porn all together “..The attacks on pornography is an attack on sexuality, women...” 4/10.
🍿
From my favorite editor/director Kogonada: Wes Anderson likes overhead shots, Tarantino prefers to peer up from below, Aronofsky uses sharp sounds, and Kubrick often uses one-point perspective - Kubrick // One-Point Perspective
🍿
The Big Bus, an obscure, forgotten disaster parody, supposedly a dumb comedy spoof, but unlike ‘Airplane’ and ‘Top secret’, utterly unfunny. 1/10.
🍿
And 2 I couldn’t finish:
🍿 ‘True Lies’ and ‘The Bourne Identity’ are some of my few favorite action movies, so I thought that Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which Doug Liman did after ‘Bourne would compare. It’s strange that only 20-30 years later, most regular Hollywood movies from that time are unwatchable. And not only because Vince Vaughan was in it.
🍿 Focus, a “sophisticated” action “comedy” with conman Will Smith and grifter Margot Robbie, which tries to be smart, slick and fast, and ends up being shallow and boring.
🍿

Hi! I’ve found an interesting detail in relation to your storm-oriented posts. I’ve looked up the origin of the word “storm” and Wikipedia says it came from the word that means “noise, tumult.”
There are many noises in ST, like screeching, growling, cracking, chirping etc, but also El needs noise when she goes into the void. Static noise.
It is also called “snow” in the UK and “lluvia” (which means “rain”) in Argentina. x
In s1 Mike hears static cracking on TV while asking his parents for 20 more minutes; Will hears growling noises behind before being attacked; Joyce hears both static and growling noises as Will contacts her through the phone; static cracking when El makes a contact with Will through Mike’s walkie-talkie.
In s2 Will hears growling noises in the UD and tells Mike about “noise coming from everyone.”
yes! thank you for this… like i said i haven’t been really analyzing the motifs i’m compiling bc in my head they’re all somehow related to each other and that absolutely includes the static/snow on all the video tapes and electrical equipment as well as the “snow” (dust, spores, whatever it is) in the upside down. something about the “source” being in the eye of a storm, “your friends in hawkins are very much in the eye of the storm” and the power grids and electromagnetic energy related to gates and the upside down and powers, the storm surrounding the mindflayer in s2, and the source in s3, and vecna’s mindscape, and “brainstorming”…. there’s so much going on i don’t even know what to do with it
#the noise will hears in the upside down sounds so much like the sound of joyce fast forwarding the video tape and yes it drives me insane#joyce then seeing the mindflayer in the static when she pauses the tape#i reblogged em’s post about temporal displacement a bit ago and i think that’s all related too#my brain just can’t compartmentalize in a way that’s useful for analysis lmao#but i appreciate this!#mikesbasementbeets posts
