“(Y/N), are you listening?” Chenle’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts, and hopefully nobody notices how your stare was stuck on the way he taps his fingers on his jeans. Your face heats up, but you try your best to hide it.

“What? Sorry, tired today.” You sit back in your chair, glancing around the room to see your roommate, Renjun, and several of your other friends sitting on the various seats around your living area.

“You don’t look tired.” Karina raises her eyebrow at you.

You glare back at her. “How do you want me to fix that?”

“Chenle was asking us if we wanted to go to a party next week,” Jisung adds. “A friend of his we don’t know is turning twenty-three.”

“Uh, sure. I’ll be right back.” You launch up, heading for the kitchen. Before you turn fully, you make eye contact with Chenle. He leans back on the couch cushion, legs crossed, and head tilted. He’s dressed so simply, sweatpants and a dark, loose-fit T-shirt, but you could ignore those things for your own sanity.

What you can’t ignore?

The quirk of his eyebrow. Did you just imagine the way he looked you up and down? Every inch of your skin feels hot, and you think of those fucking fingers on your thigh all over again.

Before you embarrass yourself any further, you quickly move towards the kitchen, throwing the door of the refrigerator open to grab a water bottle. You set it on the counter after inhaling half of it, and then brace your palms on the edge, too. Closing your eyes, you take a deep breath. You’re not sure why you can’t stop fucking thinking about it.

His hips slam into yours while his hand covers your mouth to keep you quiet. Your eyes roll back in pleasure. No matter what, you’re lost in the feeling of him inside you, the sweet stretch and how his jaw is clenched hard to keep his own noises at bay. erm so they only dropped the tickets like slightly less than a month before lol kinda insane

The concert tickets were sold on Damai so you need a CN number or know/pay someone with one who'd buy it for you which is what I did by recommendation (A tier 1280 + 400 'service fee' [apparently it would have been cheaper if they only helped you half way or something but i wasnt gonna risk running into a payment hiccup so]) Iirc they sold it in two batches but I don't remember the ratio split between first and second wave…

I got a ticket for 5/5's afternoon show (so the second last performance), I DID meet an oomf who said they managed to snag a ticket for themselves on their own (without a Professional Ticket Snatcher) so its not too impossible to attain on your own I think??? (I didn't get a CN number until like 2 days before I flew back home soo)

Professional Ticket what?? Uhhh apparently there's a whole industry/scene for this you look for listings on xianyu/taobao etc for people to buy on your behalf, you have to give them your real name and identification number (so for foreigners it'd be your passport number) for verification purposes during entry so yknow yea

getting there

You could cab directly to the venue but my friend signed us up for the free shuttle bus (they had freebies last year but not this time) and before we boarded they gave us like free water and bread (apparently free raincoats too on rainy days) which was nice of them but also insane because. the venue doesn't allow you to bring food/drinks in so a lot of people were leaving A LOT of unopened bottles near the gate and I saw a venue staff just throwing them all into the bin (HOPEFULLY JUST TO CARRY THEM AWAY IN ONE GO AND NOT FOR STRAIGHT DISPOSAL….) They drop you off near the venue but you don't go in directly, there's a 'Doctor break room' where most people are seated waiting to be ushered in batches into the venue, but also a lot of people standing around on one side of the room swapping/offering merch

ive been told this is a very concert culture thing but i feel like its kind of different because a lot of these are so high quality ike…you could sell them at Artist Alleys but here they are just distributing for free if you have a E2 60 blorbo lmao or whatever (there seems to be a tiny…? minority that prints official art but most of them seem to be handdrawn/made)

i was too unprepared for this lol i did exchange some of my old stickers (missed out on a collapsal plastic fan bc my brain lagged when the guy asked me and i went to my auto 'sorry i dont have any merch' response' :( regretted this bc the room got a little hot from the amount of people in there and i was wearing like 3 layers with that fan on my mind)

I had 2 more people to meet but, uhhh so I bought an esim for mobile data and it would intermittently lose signal here and there which was a little annoying when getting coffee but it just died entirely when i reached the venue and it was kind of Dire because i was waiting for one more friend who was coming over from the fes and i couldn't contact them lmao. told the friend i came with to go in first because I thought if my food got confiscated at least my oomf could see it beforehand LOL

waited outside in a light drizzle for an hour trying to trouble shoot my data to no avail and ended up borrowing a staff's wifi hotspot to get my entry qr code (I actually bought a second data roaming plan on my local sim but i quite stupidly did not check the country coverage and only learned later that night that 'Asia' doesn't cover China kuxiao) she was so nice i was (bow emoji) so sorry to trouble you im a stupid gaijin and she was like no its ok enjoy shanghai!! pien

The live singing this year was definitely an improvement I think… I can't really remember the setlist off the top of my head but I'm sure someone else has already listed it out, there were a couple of new pieces that weren't related to the concert groups like a Babel/Kazdel?? one sung in Latin, a Victoria…? one (in victorian ofc) also an Amiya (? just remembering by the visuals they used lol) one in Japanese

ohh yeah so almost every track would start with like a faction logo transitioning in from 3d to 2d which was cool but also amusing because it was honestly bringing quite the 'I will Make Your Company Logo Into 3D Fiverr' vibes

Since I missed the first piece idk if any of The Dreamer(s) got 3D models but The Pilgrim(s why are they all singular) had Kaltsit playing on that piano (there was also a replica of that piano on stage the white one complete with 'Arknights' text on it lmao) and Siege being cool running around in 3D (and ofc Eureka during her denpa number) it was very cool but man... its a pity the other characters in the group just get their live2d png during the beginning and effectively get sidelined lool compared to say Phenomenal Agents idk if i like this tradeoff but that eureka bit was so good sheesh #NOVAFIVE⭐ULTRALIVESWEEP

The other stuff was really great too looking at you Lone Trail medley…!!!!! I might be wrong but I... assume... you're encouraged to karaoke bc they always show the lyrics on screen… I couldn't even hear myself anyway but it was very fun singing songs you can't get on joysound/etc with a whole crowd going at it too (even if most of them would only sing 1-2 lines of the chorus)

Mary Clare did Radiant (they had the lyrics scrolling on the sides very cool) and iirc the Throne group's song...? Radiant was so fun live

Starset did Monster > Telescope and when the latter ended they were like Bye! and we(?) started yelling ENCORE--awkwardly because idk how they do it here (I was half expecting it to be JP style 'an-call-roo' but a bunch of us just yelled en-core en-core here and there until they returned to perform Infected) speaking of yelling.. between every piece when they had to switch sets people would just yell memes or skill names (like Dage's) to pass the time or sth i barely caught half of whatever they were memeing about

Simon is literally so fun to just put in poses. He is almost always my model for drawing poses because his big thighs kinda force you to make his pose even more exaggerated to get the same amount of open space and ratio of things— yeah idk it’s fun. He’s also allowed to have some sass sometimes I think. Fun fact! I didn’t use a reference for these :3. I’m so proud! Angles like this are usually hard!!! Oh and rare family heirloom sword moment. I’m taking this as a nod to the recent Haunted Castle remake now, which was so out of no where like (*o* ). I’ll take it!!! Simon game!!! A win!!! Which is why I also tried drawing him with other expressions!!!!!! In this one he is surprised and awkwardly responding to being told something so negative it’s almost comedic 💀💀💀. I was imagining the one town in Simon’s Quest with some bangers like “after Castlevania I told you never to return” and “you’ve upset the people now get out of town” X,,,,,D. He’s a little taken aback and was gonna try to defend himself, but he just leaves anxiously.

Please imagine that in this one he is saying that one meme that goes “it is hot as hell in this fucking ass hot ass room I’m in… IS THAT THE GRIM REAPER⁉️⁉️⁉️”.

I was considering putting together a personal summary of art for this year, and with many of the pieces being Guilty Gear (mostly A.B.A) fanart, I decided to try if I could fill a separate summary with just A.B.A pictures... And so, lo and behold.

Without counting the first two months, when she wasn't announced for Strive, I only did NOT draw any A.B.A at all on just ONE month... Which is uhhh:

... Well, we can all agree that she's definitely been my muse this year haha..

While I have liked A.B.A before she dropped in Strive, I prefered to be more focused on other stuff til she got added in. I really expected to wait more for her arrival, but I remember it as if it were yesterday!

This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and changes for me, but having some familiarity in drawing the same homunculus has been... comforting? And has given me a lot of inspiration and ideas to practice, drawing-wise, not to mention that her return drew me back into GG, too! What else... It made me pick up Frankenstein and I've rambled so much about her to my friends that even the ones that aren't into these games sometimes send me A.B.A stuff because of course LMAO. Also she's very hot to me which never hurts lmao.

I've said it before but her character means a lot to me, specially her arc in Strive, and it was released during a time in my life that I really needed it. Trying to understand A.B.A, be it by reading her lore, discussing it with people or writing my own rants about her character has, in a certain way, helped me confront some uglier aspects of myself and inspired me to hopefully improve. While I'm not much of a tattoo person myself, (I love learning about them, but I don't know how I'd fare with the needles myself lol, and etc) I'm seriously considering to maybe get a subtly A.B.A-themed tattoo someday, because she means THAT much to me. I hope that doesn't change..

Next, I want to give a huge shout-out to the A.B.A fan community I've had the pleasure of interacting with yer. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. First, thanks for the art, posts, tags and more that you create, as the site had a drought of them before she got added in. But of course there's people who have been more constant than me in representing her before Strive, and I tip my hat off to them.

Next, I think some of the warmest reception that my art (and ramblings) has gotten has been in this part of the fandom, too. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Whether you're a regular and I often see your username appearing in my notes, or someone that appears less often. Thanks whether you like, or reblog, or just read. Thanks specially for the nice tags some of you leave because they always make my day. Thanks for even sticking with this blog when it digresses from GG and even delves into more personal matters.

Ultimately, I think that it's beautiful that (even outside this site) there's been a group of very varied people who all came together to share their joy, and/or relatability of a fucked up digital homunculus whose song claims that she isn't able to fit in this world, that just wants to make a difference and be free. I also love Paracelsus, Paracelsus fans get behind me but hands down my fave that kickstarted all this is the homunculus lol.

Readers, I wish you Happy Holidays, or a pleasant time regardless if you don't celebrate. While at the moment I'm typing this there's still a bit of time left til New Year, I do also hope 2025 is kind to you and brings you good things.

so, you mention in the background section of the au that moon was used to trap souls inside dreams (or something similar to that.) will that be addressed in the future?? i feel like thats prime material for angsty stuff and moon feeling bad about what happened in the past :< not to mention the whole fazbear entertainment thing lending you the therapy bots and them linked to dream experiments is shady (as per usual with fazent.)

(also not as important, but is the whole "trapping souls" thing a reference to somniphobia, the book in the tftp series?? i actually havent read the story personally, but from a brief summary, im getting those same vibes lol. could be entirely a coincidence, but if not, thats cool either way!!!)

Ooh yay hihi I love AU asks!

So! The dreamscape is going to play a big part in the therapy bots AU, and the angst and drama is very much ongoing - it might seem like fun and games at first exploring the therapy themed concepts, but you’re absolutely right, there are massive Somniphobia style undertones there. Moon’s dreamscape is designed to pull you in and it can be addictive and …energy consuming. Or should we say life force consuming?

Moon meanwhile? He feels closer to you in the dreamscape than in the waking world …at first. All the souls he steals become a part of him, in a sense. Remnants of them continue to float around in the dreamscape if you look hard enough, like when you start peeling back the wallpaper of a new house that used to belong to someone else. For the longest time Moon has not really been able to interact in the real world, and honestly most people in the dreamscape very rarely interacted with him either up until the very end, being far too wrapped up in exploring the vast dreamscape which moulds itself around their wants and needs. He’s been kind of used to his role as a passive observer, or a creature without much identity at all. But this time around, because you think he’s a therapy bot, he’s a part of the action. He’s actually being played with. This is unusual for him, and his feelings get a little more muddied over time.

Sun and Moon can absolutely eat in this AU - it was one of their ill-advised “upgrades”. And as the three of you start sharing some soul energy - uhhh, bond with each other more closely, they start to gain the strangest senses too. Senses they’ve never had before, like smell and taste. And they do not know what to make of this. But they do know that Sun likes neapolitan flavour (don’t ask him to pick just one, they look so pretty together!) and Moon likes mint chocolate chip flavour (yep you heard me, mint is good). And that having ice cream late on a summer night is what it’s all about (well, ask Sun about that one - Moon thinks you ought to be sleeping, but he’ll allow it this one time).

2022 Greatest Hits

Uhhh technically tagged by @cassthecringe and I guess I'm supposed to think of 10 good things that happened this year.

Even though this year ended pretty badly, looking back there was plenty of stuff that went pretty well. At least, compared to previous years.

1) After like 6 years of online friendship I finally met my dear friend @eldridgeparking IRL! It was so much fun and honestly I still can't believe that really happened. (Wtf my online friends are real tangible people?)

2) I guess I was technically approved for a big raise a few months back but some stuff's kinda made that raise not yet take effect :/ Hopefully it'll go through in January but I'm still gonna count that as a good thing for this year.

3) Uhhh I guess I wrote a good chunk of Part 01 for THV, although a bunch of it needs to be rewritten later lol. Figured out a lot of important plot/character stuff tho that I think are major improvements.

4) Watched a bunch of good movies and TV shows this year, rn I can think of Everything Everywhere All At Once, Glass Onion (managed to watch it in theaters last month :'D), Mob Psycho 100 (finally finished the whole series augh), Spy x Family

5) Went to the San Diego Zoo, that was cool. Finally saw a California Condor irl which was something I've wanted to see for a long time. Plus, San Diego Zoo is responsible for saving the species from certain extinction so it was nice to see them there of all places.

6) Got a new phone, a Samsung Galaxy Flip 4. I was skeptical about the foldable function but it's actually working pretty well and I like being able to put my phone easily in my pockets again.

7) Wait I can't believe I forgot this happened only this year until now but I got my own room for once! Not that I didn't have one when I was a kid but it was so full of my childhood stuff and also stuff my parents didn't have room for that it didn't really feel like My Room. In college I always lived in a small room with roommates. But now I have my own space for once that I sorta put together which is nice.

8) Saw Wicked live, thought it was enjoyable (at least the first act, second act was a bit. Hmm). Glinda's actress stole the show though she was an absolute riot. After seeing two musicals live tho I really wish I could read captions because I can't tell wtf they're singing most of the time and I feel like that makes me miss a bunch of stuff-

9) Uhhh my DrakeNier Meme Twitter sorta took off after I posted a few bangers

10) (If you can't tell I was really struggling to come up with things towards the end) I bought and finished the Bone comics after never finishing them as a child and they were wonderful. Netflix how dare you cancel the adaptation YOU HAD GREATNESS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

January: Sweet Child o' Mine - Guns 'N Roses. Nothing snarky to say about this one tbh. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard this song since adopting my special needs dog, I'd have ... idk maybe $2.25, but it's weird that it's happened so much in the first two years of his life. I always remember hearing this song play while I held this tiny pup and wondered what his future might look like, given his struggles. It's "our" song now. Hopefully, it's a good omen more than anything. Things have been so iffy with his epilepsy, I could really use a win (and/or a miracle).

February: Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms. I'm not a jealous person lol but this song speaks to my nostalgia, especially regarding people who are no longer here, so maybe this is a good fit for February.

March: Still Fly - Big Tymers. Aw, man, I really miss late 90s/early 2000s rap. So much nostalgia there. This feels like a good vibe for the month overall (I hope). Might be reunited with the BFF, so there's that.

April: Africa - Toto. I guess in April I'll bless the rains down in Africa, as a treat.

May: Overdrive - Lazerhawk. Hmm. Am I having a cyberpunk road adventure? I mean, I do love me some Lazerhawk.

June: Grown Up - 2 Skinnee J's. It's my birthday month, so this feels appropriate. "She got the credit, and I got carded." Hopefully, I never grow up in all the right ways.

July: Blinding Lights - The Weeknd. Uhhh. Hopefully it's not gonna be a hot summer ... but it probably will be. Thanks, global warming. 🫠

August: Suerte - Shakira. I ... honestly don't know, but the song's a bop. It still catches me off guard whenever I hear the English version, ha ha.

September: Gunga Din - The Libertines. Ahh, settling into that introspective autumn vibe, methinks. I wish that Earth, Wind, and Fire song had popped up, tho.

October: Signs of the Zodiac - Rasputina. Oooh, wistful autumn feels. I miss seeing Rasputina's live shows whenever they came to New Orleans. They were always fun.

November: Betty (Get Money) - Yung Gravy. Uhh, more like lose money because the holidays are right around the corner. But maybe I'll catch an unexpected windfall? I'd be fine with that.

December: Things Can Only Get Better - Howard Jones. Oooh, I do love this song. I remember my babysitter watching the music video for it on MTV back in the day. I'm always feeling anxious about January, so maybe this is me trying to get in a better frame of mind for it.

Sometimes I see the most garbage, zero-nuance, strict label definitions, queer takes and I usually go to their profile on whatever app I'm on to block them, cause I don't need to be able to come across that shit, and so often they have their age in their profile and they are a ~literal teenager~ or at the max maybe 20 years old and my response is always "oh, it's because you are a child, just a little baby child" (and still block them, cause whatever the reason I don't need those takes in my life) and sometimes I feel kinda bad about that cause I know when I was that age I hated being called a child or older people treating me like I didn't understand the way the world worked cause I was younger but, honestly, 1) I didn't understand the way the world worked and 2) if they didn't want me to treat them like a child, they shouldn't have childish opinions, like grow up and learn that the world isn't black and white and there's a lot more nuance to life than you apparently think
