kinda wish that my preferred method of character analysis wasn’t through weird sex headcannons but here we are. i don’t think i hc Lucanis as ace but i do feel like sex is just. not at the forefront of his mind, most of the time. i think he prefers sensuality over The Thing That Makes You Cum (and then Feel Weird about it.) (yknow what i love that actually. yeah lucanis experiences pretty intense post-nut drop and edges to stave it off. canon to me now.) so yeah he just wants to take baths and let rook/neve shave him if they want and polish their shoes while they’re wearing them. sex is fine too but it’s not the goal.

Spite, i think, is similar but… not? i don’t think he fully gets sex or why people do it or how to do it right. lucanis is obviously no help. However. i think he feels intense cuteness aggression, which is basically just repackaged sadism. and i think with guidance could easily be nurtured into that. he’d be great at it. so as i said it’s similar to what lucanis has going on - sensuality over sexuality - except kinkier, i guess. but he’d definitely need kink explained to him. and he’s certainly not a daddy dom or whatever the fuck 😭being a sadist and being a dom are Not mutually exclusive and begging someone to let you hurt them is really hot, actually.

(ok I lied I DO KNOW why yellow, because it was the colour of my favourite plushie when I was a baby kiddo. As a toddler I just decided that yellow is my fave colour for forever I guess. purple developed into a second favourite a bit later, but I do not have an origin story for that one. that colour just tickles my brain.)

Last book I finished: Hell Followed with Us by Andrew Joseph White! it was really cool and I enjoyed the horror aspects and the vibes. (Also I can't even begin to put into words how much it matters to me that I can finally nowadays read MULTIPLE different books with transmasc MAIN CHARACTERS. truly blows my mind. happy to see it.)

It was a nice breather while I had a break from reading Dracula by Bram Stoker but uhh... then I never got back to dracula after and just started reading Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune. :')) to be fair I've been waiting for this one a while now. (though my reading has been on a break for a while. idk my brain just doesn't let me read currently but I'll get back to it at some point again! I probably won't be able to finish the books I'm currently in the middle of before the year ends but that's alright!)

Last TV show I watched: uh... Beast Wars: Transformers... (me n my friend have been on a transformers kick. their old hyperfixation is stirring once more and I am so glad to be along for the ride :3 )

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I??? don't know??? I like sweet things?? but savoury is delish too??

Last thing I googled: Pancake recipe (I wana make a pancake to keep me and my brain busy and get a sweet treat while I'm at it)

Current obsession(s): UHHHH the strongest currently is probably Great God Grove since it FINALLY came out and I love love love that game so much it was definitely worth the wait!!! <3<3<3<3<3 also obviously Batman since it's the latest long lasting hyperfixation I've had in a WHILE. and the best thing is that there's.. A LOT of batman media I still haven't taken a look at or read or played etc. so never stop the madness or however that one meme goes.

(I also reblog a lot of stuff of all my other interests since like.. my adhd brain, yes gets hyperfixated on one specific thing for periods of time, but once the fixation period chills out the enjoyment doesn't fade. so like... Psychonauts, Pacific Rim, Mp100, Lupin the third, tf2, and SO MANY OTHER THINGS my beloveds. my blog is a mess of stuff I enjoy, but I try to tag everything so if someone gets sick of seeing a specific thing they can blacklist it!)

That’s been my headcanon for a while now, actually!! I think for me it came from two characters in a manga I like that are a lot like a dog and a cat but have inverted fav animals and when I read about that I was like “oh, right, makes sense since they like each other” and then my brain turned it krbk because when does it not lmao

Ah man, I’m sorry but I’m not the best person to ask this to! I started this sideblog cause I had too many followers on my main and I didn’t want my stuff to be seen by that many people at first, so whatever I did probably isn’t what you’re looking for :( but really there isn’t much to it, just post whatever you like to draw, tag it as best as you can (but remember that only the first five tags appear in the search page) and be patient, since whatever you do at first you won’t get much attention anyway - the only real advice I can give is to draw something that makes you happy and that you’d draw anyway even if no one were to see it, it’ll make keep posting despite a possible lack of activity a lot easier!

SO SMT AU AM I RIGHT GAMERS

I mentioned this in the tags of another post and joked about it in Discord but my brain went brrrr during my last class of the day and now I lowkey have a full plot starting to form lol.

Keep in mind the only Shin Megami Tensei game I’ve played myself is the Nocturne remake, plus I only really remember bits of the plot of 4 and whatever we’ve been given so far of 5 so I’m not super well versed in the series.

Also I’ll add this to the tags too but DSMP Spoilers specifically for the contents of Techno’s Will exist in this post, because that is where the idea for this came from. A lot of other JRPGs have similar plotlines but I specifically thought of SMT because its kind of a meme specifically for that at this point how the plot always seems to have the same type ending bosses. 

Also some spoilers for Shin Megami Tensei IV

Now Presenting: An AU where Techno’s Limbo is an SMT Game lol

(Under a ‘Read More’ because it got way ahead of me)

An Introduction to Relevant SMT terminology:

Demons: Makes up a large majority of the characters in the game. They are the enemies that you face in combat, and its possible to recruit them to your team through various means. Some demons exist in the overworld though, and can be talked to normally, they’re chill most of the time, unless you do something to tick them off. ‘Demon’ is not taken literally by the Christian definition, they are based off of various figures in folklore and religion around the world, some are even based on Gods and Angels.

Law vs Chaos: Many SMT games have multiple endings based on these two alignments, along with the neutral alignment. It is usually decided by some important decisions the player makes throughout the game. I’m most aware of the SMT 4 ending, in which the route you are on decides the final dungeon, the character you team with for the ending, and the final boss (its either Satan or the in-game version of God). It’s based off of the traditional interpretation of these two, where Law represents the importance of authority, and Chaos represents the importance of freedom. 

Another note is that a lot of SMT games take place in a post-apocalyptic world of some kind, which, spoiler, is the case here.

General Plot Details and Worldbuilding:

- Techno dies in the prison. The stasis chamber fails and Quackity succeeds in killing him. Permanently. 

- Despite dying, he wakes up again in the main prison cell, but things are different. The lava isn’t blocking the entrance anymore, (in fact there isn’t any lava at all), and he’s alone. Upon peering outside the main cell, he notices a bit of sky peeking through the prison ceiling, like it had been broken into. 

- The drop down to the bottom floor is long, but he’s dead, so he just shrugs and jumps down so he can see what’s going on. Turns out there are several holes in this part of the prison, in fact there are multiple on the ground, likely where the lava had escaped from. (Obviously Minecraft lava specifically doesn’t work like that, I’m pretty sure in the DreamSMP the bottom is all source blocks, but just ignore that bit). 

- He exits from the back wall of the prison, and everything there so far looks normal, except for the fact that there appears to be less trees than normal. Of the trees that are still there, many of them were cut down and never collected, and some appear to have fallen over due to some damage.

- Techno goes around the prison to the front, and that’s when he notices some things that are very wrong. Various parts of the prison, not just the main cell, are also sitting destroyed. Many cracks, scuff marks and full-on chunks are missing on the walls. The usual entrance which houses the nether portal is hardly still standing, and he can see straight into the main lobby where the portal would lead into once you were let through. 

- The surrounding areas are not much better. Tommy’s outpost is toppled over in the distance, only the base and bottom floor are left standing. The tents near the beach are collapsed and destroyed, the only remnants of one of them is a small piece of fabric ripped from the main bit and laying on the ground. Skeppy and Badboyhalo’s mansion is crumbling where it stands, half of the back wall and ceiling are gone. And that’s only what’s visible from here. 

- The rest of the server is also in various states of destruction, the spawn walls are hardly left standing, the main nether portal area is covered in potholes, none of the portals are active. The prime path is rotted and broken in most areas, the buildings along it are not faring much better than the ones he’d seen before. And the further he gets away from the prison, the more the plants themselves appear to be dead or dying. 

- L’manburg’s crater looks much the same as it once did right after its destruction, albeit with more debris at the bottom which had fallen from the sides as they slowly eroded. The flag at the bottom is torn up and discoloured, honestly its hardly recognizable. The nature that had finally begun to reclaim the land has slowly been dying instead over time, and the bridge overtop has completely collapsed. The only thing still standing, is the ever present obsidian grid that looms over it in the sky. He supposes that whatever disaster had caused this wasn’t able to reach that high up, or that it was at least in part done by someone that liked the way it looked. Not that there seems to be a need for the reminder anymore. 

- Something something, he finds out DreamXD is here, and that he might have had something to do with how this world looks. And as much as it shouldn’t matter in the afterlife, he did promise Phil he would be killing God sooooo he goes on a mission to do just that. He can do pretty much anything now that he really doesn’t have to worry about dying, so why not. He has no reason to care about some God, especially when they’re the only ones left.

- Some DSMP people hang around the world and are represented by certain demons, the mostly chill ones that kinda just hang around in the apocalyptic scenery. They don’t recognize him, it isn’t really the people he knows after all, but they are willing to talk to him since they can tell he isn’t human either. He learns little bits of what happened through them, and learns where DreamXD resides, that being one of the strongholds that’s a bit further out. 

- Unfortunately, due to the portals being inactive, and his inability to break anything efficiently, or even at all, he has to travel using the overworld. Along the way he manages to speak to some others, this allows him to better locate where the God is, although it doesn’t seem to be hiding out. He even sees it sometimes flying around, which he uses to follow where its hiding. 

- Some of the random demons he runs into recognize that he’s not supposed to be here (according to them at least), so he has to fight his way through them. Luckily, many of the friendly demons that he talks to end up tagging along in order to help, thus making up a team he can use to get through them instead.

 - There’s probably a demon that seems to resemble Phil somewhere, living alone (alone for so so long) away from everyone in an arctic house perhaps. If I wanted to really up the angst, the demon takes a liking to Techno right away, which is partly how Techno is able to tell its him so quickly. The more they talk, the more Techno realizes how lonely the Phil he knows must be without him there, how upset he’d be once he reads the will and finds out what happened to him. Thus he’s more motivated to, you know, fight God, in an attempt to figure out what the hell happened. (DXD is the only entity existing here that also exists where he’s from, he can guess pretty easily that maybe, just maybe, they are one and the same). Thus, he is given a choice that he knows he will have to make in the future. 

- Eventually he manages to find the stronghold and comes face to face with DreamXD himself. DreamXD is just kinda chillin there, they fight, through DreamXD doesn’t seem to be putting in too much effort, almost like it does not want to win. 

- Techno wins (duh), and he is left with a choice, a choice to finish the job, or spare the god and allow it to go free. And, well, he feels that he doesn’t really have the right to decide whether it lives or dies, and while its possible that DreamXD caused whatever disaster created the current state of the world, but he doesn’t know that for sure. DreamXD has done nothing this whole time he’s been here, and its done nothing to him or his companions.

- He chooses to leave it alone, and DreamXD seems to know that it was always going to end that way. 

- DreamXD disappears, and Techno wakes up in the cell again post-revival, the prison and the world around it is the same as he remembers

(I don’t remember the exact real-world to limbo time difference but I imagine that it felt like, a day, maybe half that, while irl it was only a few minutes to an hour.)

Some other notes/details:

- The other possible ending would have resulted in Techno killing DreamXD and being given ANOTHER choice to take its power over the world, or just leave and stay there forever. Basically DreamXD’s existence is vital to the power of the revival book, and it’s death would have resulted in Dream not being successful in his revival attempts. Obviously we have no idea how the powers actually work yet, but I just came up with an explanation because I thought it would be interesting. You can decide on your own which of these endings fall into Law, Chaos or Neutral because uh, its complicated given the scenario. You can also decide if letting DreamXD live even fits into his character! Idk! But its not like DreamXD’s being oppressive by any means, not that there’s anyone to oppress here anyways. That’s my logic anyways.

- I don’t know what demons would represent specific people, I’d like to use one of the Angels for Phil but the Demons based on Angels usually have an important role in the plot that is in line with the Law alignment and like, protecting god or whatever, so no. There are a couple bird ones but idk if they fit the vibe, idk it could work, I’d have to look at a list if I want to go into this further.

- I kinda want Eret to be an Inugami because it’s body does that thing that ferret’s do when they’re all stretched out :) The only reason I’m hesitant is because Inugami is a dog, and Goose deserves representation.

- The reason I imagined for why Techno can’t break anything is because the mining fatigue lasted throughout this because he died with it, it’d get in the way of fighting too but at least it isn’t weakness, and he’s not alone either.

Uhhhhh that’s it for now I think!

After many moons spent under the dsmp, seeing discourse and analysis alike, i have come to the conclusion i simply do not have the energy to care about any lore outside of c!tubbo and c!tommy's and will only defend them. the problems come up when you attack other people for their perspectives on the medium or spread misinformation about different characters based on only watching the perspective you like, but you know - if you’re not doing analysis, you really don’t need to look that deep into it.

i mean... we're not trying to - being against punitive justice is about the fact punishment is wrong, not just certain types of it. asking me what a "fitting punishment" would be is sort of very not getting the point.

hurting people further is not going to teach them anything and it’s not going to help anyone, why is it necessary?

so the answer is: none. he shouldn’t be punished, actually! he should learn on his own that what he did wasn’t right, and that’s about it. that’s the thing about transformative justice. him becoming a better person who Wouldn’t Do That again because it goes against who he is.

no i’m - i’m pretty sure that’s just how it works. dream still owns the smp, but he himself has said wayy back at the beginning “everyone can build and go wherever they want” and that was that. it was one of his rules on the smp, it was his main problem with l’manberg. being able to build anywhere were the rules that he “had the right” to enforce. and he did, not because he was a god, but because it was his smp, his home that he claimed for his friends. wouldn’t call it a big debate, it’s really that simple.

So You Decided to Get Into Avengers after Endgame Came Out: A Guide

First of all, I feel your pain.  You had better things to do besides watching a gazillion Marvel movies, but now Avengers: Endgame is in the only thing in theaters and everybody’s going nuts about it.  But this movie is super-duper not accessible.  More than any other Marvel movie, this one assumes you know what’s going on and it can point to the box office history to back up that assumption.  (I’m not a fan of that choice tbqh.)  So now you can’t watch this 3-hour movie without everyone telling you to watch 20 other 3-hour movies.

Well, you’d be justified to say “screw it,” but if you still want to take the plunge, I’m here for you.  I was here when the first Avengers came out, and all the kids who saw the movie were like “I want to read the comics now but it’s hard.”  Yeah, it’s hard.  So comics fans like me helped them out, and now those baby fans know more about the Avengers than I do.  That’s how it goes around here--we work together, to follow the continuity no single superfan could withstand.

This is not a comprehensive guide to the “Marvel Cinematic Universe.”  This isn’t even a guide to the best movies.  This is the quickest way to get you up to speed so you can enjoy Avengers: Endgame.  Don’t let this stuff scare you.  You can do it.

(The following contains very very light extra mild spoilers for stuff BEFORE Endgame, for people who managed to not care about those spoilers for 11 years.)

The short-short version

There are four main Avengers movies

Avengers 1 (2012)

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron (2015)

Avengers 3: Infinity War (2018)

Avengers 4: Endgame (2019)

Obviously the fourth movie kind of assumes you saw the first three.  More importantly, 3 and 4 are a two-part story (like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I & II), so those two are really really inseparable.

Avengers 1 is the most succinct introduction of the main characters: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, the Black Widow, and Hawkeye.  You could watch the movies that came before Avengers 1 for more detailed introductions, but you don’t need to unless you’re super confused.  (If you just cannot handle the idea of literal Norse gods running around, I guess watching Thor 1 might help, but superhero stories work better if you’re more like “that’s weird but okay.”)

Avengers 2...didn’t go over real well with fans, and it struggled with telling its own story while trying to set up stuff for future movies.  However, since the future movies in question were Avengers 3 and Avengers 4, that’s the stuff you’re interested in.  Also Avengers 2 debuts key secondary characters (the Vision and the Scarlet Witch) and is a convenient way to be introduced to others (War Machine and the Falcon).

Captain America 3: Civil War (2016) came out between Avengers 2 and Avengers 3, and it basically ends up being Avengers 2½.  This is arguably the hardest one to skip, since it fundamentally changes the relationship between Captain America and Iron Man, and sets up where the characters are at leading into Avengers 3.  You also get to meet Black Panther, the Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, and Spider-Man without devoting a ton of time to more movies.  To be fair, Avengers 3 does attempt to explain what has happened since Avengers 2, but it’s kinda hard since so much is going on in Avengers 3.  I happen to like this movie a lot, so I think it’s worth the slight detour.

Avengers 3 is where Thanos comes looking for the Infinity Stones, to put on his Infinity Gauntlet.  It may seem like all the movies are about Thanos and Infinity Stones, but don’t believe the hype.  Prior to this, some of the movies had plot devices that turned out to be Infinity Stones, and some of the movies featured Thanos cameos.  But the actual story starts here--all the teases and hints were just to establish that our heroes have a clue about what’s going on.  Many characters from other movies meet the Avengers for the first time, but if you haven’t watches those movies you’ll be no more or less confused than the Avengers are.

Avengers 4 picks up right where Avengers 3 left off.  I won’t say much about it, except that is trying to pay homage to all the movies before it while also trying to serve as an ending, which is challenging.  To accomplish that I think they sacrificed accessibility, so there are many scenes that depend on you recognizing references to earlier movies.  BUT, I think you can get by just from seeing Avengers 1-3 and Cap 3: Civil War.

Extra credit homework

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier (2014) shows how Cap, a World War II hero, is adjusting to life after waking up in the 2010s and joining the Avengers.  If you’re confused about SHIELD, Hydra, or the Winter Soldier, this will help.  This is one of my favorites.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 (2014) introduces a rag-tag band of misfits in deep space, led by a half-human/half-alien mercenary.  Aside from being fun, it delves into Marvel’s approach to aliens and cosmic powers.  If you’re wondering why all the aliens speak English and don’t wear real spacesuits and use glowy rocks to do everything...well, this doesn’t explain it, but it teaches you to chill out about it.

Thor 3: Ragnarok (2017) has very little do to with the first two Thor movies, except that it dramatically tears down the status quo.  The aftereffects of this are felt in Thor’s appearances in Avengers 3 and Avengers 4.  If you would be confused by questions like “why would Norse gods be refugees on a spaceship?” or “why would Norse gods have weird alien friends?” or “is Thor...like, okay?” then this movie will help.

Captain Marvel (2019) introduces Captain Marvel.  A teaser in Avengers 3 made it seem like she’d be a big deal, but her role in Avengers 4 kinda fails to properly introduce her.  I guess they figured everyone would watch this movie.  You certainly can watch this movie, but I don’t know that it’s essential, beyond understanding that “Captain Marvel is hella tough and she’s so cool.”  And I could just tell you that.  So I will.  Captain Marvel is hella tough and she’s so cool.

Wait, what are you leaving out?

If you are concerned that skipping over all the other movies will cause you to miss a key plot point related to the main Avengers series, allow me to briefly summarize what you need to know from them.  That way you can decide whether to sink time into actually watching these movies, or just reading my quick notes.

Iron Man 1 (2008) - Tony Stark becomes Iron Man and meets SHIELD; he’s like “I want cheeseburgers” and his chauffeur is like “sure, whatever”

The Incredible Hulk (2008) - The Hulk exists, pretty much

Iron Man 2 (2010) - Iron Man’s friend James Rhodes becomes War Machine

Thor 1 (2011) - The world finds out Thor and Loki are real

Captain America 1: The First Avenger (2011) - Steve Rogers becomes a super-soldier in 1943, fights the Red Skull with his friend Bucky, and he never got to dance with Peggy Carter, his best girl :(

Iron Man 3 (2013) - Iron Man has anxiety attacks about the events of Avengers 1.  Then he makes friends with a little boy.

Thor 2: The Dark World (2013) - Thor brings his human girlfriend to Asgard to meet his parents!

Ant-Man (2015) - Hank Pym invented shrinky-juice called Pym particles and gave it to Scott Lang.  I skipped this one, tbh

Doctor Strange (2016) - Doc takes over the Ancient One’s job protecting Earth from weird magical dimensions

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 (2017) - Mantis joins the team and Nebula stops trying to kill them so they can be friends.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) - Peter kisses a girl, maybe?  I skipped this one too lol

Black Panther (2018) - Black Panther has a genius little sister named Shuri and a cool general named Okoye and omg everybody loves this movie because it’s great

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) - Hank Pym’s daughter becomes the Wasp and they rescue her mom.  I skipped this too (uh-oh I’m a bad Marvel fan)

Now, if you want to marathon all these movies, you go right ahead.   They’re generally very good!  But don’t let nobody tell you that you’ve got to watch them all.  It’s not that complicated.

In conclusion all you really really need is Avengers 1, Avengers 2, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers 3, Avengers 4.  And if you need a hand, you’ve got a zillion people waiting to help.

1. What is you’re name?

“Lesley Elvira Mathews. Not a real fan of Elvira so don’t call me that unless you wanna get whacked.”

2. How old are you?

“Shit, I dunno. I was nineteen when I got the boot. How many years ago was that now?”

(Lesley’s timeline is a bit funky at the moment. I wanna say this takes place after main story stuff and before fo4, so she’ll be in her early twenties)

3. What do you look like?

“A fucking legend.”

4. Where are you from? Where do you live now?

“See, I thought I was born in Vault 101, but actually I was born somewhere in the wasteland then grew up in the vault. Not a fun environment to grow up in, to tell you the truth. A lotta assholes livin’ there, except Amata.

“I’m happy to say that now I live in my very own house in Megaton. It’s not a super private place, though. Gotta few couch surfers.”

5. What was your childhood like?

“Could’ve been better, actually. Like I said before, there were a lot of assholes in 101. Had a real hard time making friends. People liked to call me the problem kid because I got in a lot of fights, but I didn’t start all of them and those fuckers had it coming. Grown-ups complained about me all the time and the Overseer hated my guts, but that’s ok because I hated his about the same.

“I guess it wasn’t all bad, though. My dads were pretty great, even when James was too busy being James. Granny Palmer used to look after me when they were both busy, she was really nice. And then there’s my best friend, Amata. If it weren’t for her I probably would have went nuts in there.”

6. What groups are you friendly with? Are you allied with any factions?

“I currently do work with Reilly’s Rangers and the Regulators. I get to run around the wastes and kill bad guys for money?? They had me at ‘caps.’

“I used to be part of the Brotherhood of Steel, though I don’t remember actually signing up or anything. They dropped my sorry ass as soon as they thought I wasn’t useful anymore. Bastards.

“This one lady also said I could be part of this Railroad group if I didn’t tell this fancy suit where this android person went. Still waiting for them to call me back.”

7. Tell me about your best friend.

“It used to be Amata, but we went our separate ways. Good terms, though. The fella that fills that role now is the bee’s fuckin’ knees. Tall, knows his way around a gun, kinda cranky, but he has a secret softy side.”

8. Do you have a family? Tell me about them!

“Well, the family I told you about earlier kinda fell in on itself when James fucked off. Jonas was murdered and I got stuck with the blame, James zapped himself with enough radiation to ghoulify a super mutant. Last I checked, Granny Palmer was ok, as okay as you can be when your only grandson is killed. I don’t know if she’s still around. I also had a mom once, she died about five minutes after I was born.

“The family I got now? Pretty bomb. There’s aunt Cross, though I don’t get to see her much anymore, Butch who surprisingly is like a brother to me, Fawkes the coolest meta human around, Dogmeat the goodest boy, that little urchin from Lamplight that shows up now and then to drink all my Nuka-Cola, and Charon of course. I’d say Wadsworth, too, but he’d take offense to that.”

9. What about partner or partners?

“Oh man he’s fuckin’ great. Lots of people are scared of him, but he’s real sweet when you take the time to know him. A complete badass that I would absolutely die for. A lot smarter and funnier than people give him credit for. He’s one of the few people who actually listens to me and doesn’t get mad when I get to yakking too much. Is willing to stick his neck out for me, not that I want him to do that, mind you, but it’s real nice to know he’d never throw me to the wolves like others would. Nice ass... what were we talking about?”

10. Have you ever heard of the Brotherhood of Steel? What do you think about them?

“Uh, yeah? I just told you I was with them once. To be honest, though, they’re far from perfect. Sarah and the old man are pretty great, and Cross of course. But there’s a lot of shit that goes down without the old man knowing about it. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear the guy died under ‘mysterious circumstances’ and they put up some wet mop in his place.”

11. Who are your enemies, and why?

“Jeeze who isn’t? I don’t know who’s paying them, but the Talon Company is dead set on killing my ass. Their client could be slavers since they hate me with a passion. Arefu doesn’t like me for some reason (ooc: thanks for the gitch, game). I don’t have enough fingers to count this shit out.

12. What about the Enclave?

“Those motherfuckers are lucky I wasn’t at Adams Airforce Base. I’d teach them the meaning of the word slaughter.”

13. How do you feel about super mutants?

“They’re real fun to fight with, but it’d be nice if they didn’t always try to shoot you on sight you know? Why can’t they be more chill like Fawkes?”

14. Have you ever fought a deathclaw?

“Me and a bunch of folks took over a spaceship once.”

“I’m a real fan of stabbing shit, so I mostly work with swords. I have this neat ass one I made myself from schematics I got from vampires, don’t ask, I like to call Shishkebab. That baby has a funky little function where the blade catches fire, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me. I also got a neat sword with an electrified blade from a weird pre-war bunker thing.”

18. How do you survive? Your wits, your charm, your skills, brute force, some combination? (a.k.a. what’s your S.P.E.C.I.A.L.?)

“I’m fast, strong and I talk real good.”

“Rad-X and Radaway are pretty expensive, so for the most part I just try to stay away from it. I did intentionally get super sick from radiation once, but as far as I know it didn’t have any lasting effects.”

“Dogmeat. He hasn’t tried to eat me yet.”

22. What’s your least favourite wastelad critter?

“Fucking mirelurks. With their big meaty claws and their gross shells, swimming arounf waiting to get you by the ankle. I hear they have more legs in other parts of the country.”

“I guess they’re ok. I wouldn’t put a whole lot of trust in them, but if they don’t bother me then I won’t bother them.”

F - Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Ah, okay, so my current favorite bit of dialogue I’ve written is from an as-of-yet unposted fic, so I’m going to put that under the cut for anyone who wants to read it.

As far as finished fic goes, I can’t really think of any off the top of my head other than any interaction I wrote between Dex and Whiskey in The Arrangement, but after some sifting I was pleasantly delighted to reread this ficlet I wrote about Dex and Nursey after 4.08 where my shipper heart tried to fix what Ngozi so lovingly shattered. Cutting out the narrative, the dialogue reads like this:

“The washer’s free.” - Dex

“Thanks.” - Nursey

“Need help?” - Nursey

“You can do the socks” … “If you want.” - Dex

“I used to do that.” … “For my mom,” … “when she did laundry.” - Dex

What I like so much about this ficlet, and the dialogue in it, is something I’m big on in my writing, which is that the words people say almost never really get across what they mean/feel, and so with Nursey and Dex specifically I really like when I can give them a good, loaded, important interaction with very little actual dialogue, and I think with this fic in particular I did that pretty well.

I have so many WIPs and AU ideas that have been somewhat written but never finished, including but not limited to a Nurseydex stripper!AU which I’ve talked about before, a Dex/OC LAX bro story that I LOVE, how the Haus dryer got Nursey and Dex together, a fic about Dex’s experienced as a First-Gen Low-Income student at Samwell, and a very long fic from Nursey’s frog year to beyond Samwell about his slow and inevitable descent into love with Dex.

…I need to get writing.

K - What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

As you and everyone who’s ever read my stuff know, I am– as I’ve been called before– an angst monster. I live for the angst, I eat sleep and breathe angst. I have never met an angsty idea I haven’t liked.

As far as story ideas, I think the angstiest thing I’ve ever come up with is an AU with Dex’s parents dying and him quitting college and moving back to Maine to take care of his siblings. It never really got legs, but I thought about it before falling asleep for a while and currently have a short, poorly written WIP in my Abandoned Fics folder.

As far as HCs and such, my backstories for Dex and Nursey are plenty angsty– Dex’s being that he was outed to his town at ten years old, bullied for most of his life, and was somewhat taken advantage of by his hockey captain (who was four years older than him) from the time he was 14 until his freshman year at Samwell. Nursey’s super sad backstory revolves around him developing an anxiety disorder from a young age and– though his parents are loving and try their best– he learns to be “chill” and “fine” because he knows it upsets them when he isn’t, and basically becomes hella repressed, which Andover Does Not Help.

(a little context: Sean is trying to convince Dex that they can make a relationship work, after kind of breaking into his building to talk to him. It’s chill, I promise. I cut off before the dialogue is tagged, so just know the first line is Sean’s.)

        “Okay, this is going to sound really creepy, but remember I’m cute, okay?”

         “What?”

         “Okay, so, uh. I saw you leaving the hockey frat with your laundry and I sort of, followed you and, fuck. I can’t stop thinking about you?” He winces at himself. “This is sounding so much creepier than it’s meant to. I just, I really like you, okay? I think we can get past the team thing. It’ll be kind of like Romeo and Juliet, right?”

         “They killed themselves at the end,” Dex points out.

         “Well, as long as you don’t take drugs from any priests and I don’t kill your cousin, I think we’ll be pretty okay.”

         “Sean,” Dex tries to say firmly, but he’s smiling.

         Sean half-smiles back. “I think we can do it. I really do.”

         “Sean…”

         “And remember how cute I am,” Sean adds quickly. “Also remember that I just ran up three flights of stairs because the elevator was full just for you.”

         “How did you even get in the building?”

         Sean grins. “I am very cute.” Dex gives him a flat look. Sean relents. “Okay, I pretended like I lived here and went in behind someone who opened the door.” He points at Dex. “But I am cute.”

         “I feel like you’re searching for validation here.”

         “And the polite thing to do would be to give it to me, wouldn’t it?”

I just really love this interaction? Sean is a really fun character for me to write and I love his lines in what I’ve written so far, and every time I go back to read this WIP, whenever I get to this part I want to finish it just so I can post this bit.

.. I guess this means I don’t have to finish it now? Ah, I’ll do it anyway.

Come up with 11 new questions. Tag 11 people. Anyway, the 11 questions I’ve answered: 1.  Which of your characters would you most enjoy getting coffee with? i’m a really awkward person if i don’t know you well, so i need someone who’s just really comfortable to be around and who’ll be able to break the ice, so i’m thinking... probably Zhen. i mean there’s no such thing as awkwardness with her because she’s just so chill and laidback and she can talk a lot (of nonsense), so she’ll probably just break the ice with that first. there’s a high chance she might try to run out on the bill though... so i gotta watch for that. okay, who am i kidding? she WILL run out on the bill and i WILL get scammed but like, fine. that’s a fate i will have to accept. 2. Whose name took you the longest to be sure of? Teng?? HAHA because what kind of a name is teng anyway??? like... it could mean rattan, which is ridiculous, and while it is also a commonly used word in a chinese name, you don’t usually see it on its own, and if given nicknames, the person probably wouldn’t ask someone to call them as ‘teng’ on its own. so yea! it’s kinda weird, but i think it’s endearing in a way that exactly fits teng as a character. 3. Do you already know the ending of your wip? yup! 4. If your main characters were animals, what would they be? omGGGGgg this is going to take up all of my brain cells once again. ummMMmm. okay. okay. uh. zhen would be a squirrel???? she hoards things (probably) & she is opportunistic. like, if she sees a potential for her to get free things, she will go for it, and then she’ll hide it from everyone else because she’s selfish like that (but the hoard eventually gets discovered and she’s forced to share like a kid at a playground) shou would be an owl, probably. i answered in an ask that if he was a god, he’d likely be a god of the moon, and owls are very close to that. he’s also intelligent and intuitive and full of wisdom, just that you have to uncover it from the heaps of trash he piles on them all. lu would be a cat. he wants food, all the time. he wants attention too, but not like, deliberately. he’s not going to beg you for it, he’s classy that way. he’s pretty independent too, and he’s street smart. he just stays with you when he prefers the comfort of home. yu(f) would be an ox. she is really resilient and diligent, and she doesn’t mind working hard (in fact, that’s all she really cares about... or is it?). She’s also really hot-tempered too and she can flare up at the smallest things, and she’s also as bull-headed as an ox. she can get really stubborn about things and it’s frustratingly difficult to pull her out of it. ren would be a bee (fine, it’s not an animal, let me be!). he’s a hard worker and he’s diligent and she works not just for herself, but for everyone, but often his hard work is overlooked and people just take advantage of him and he knows it, but he doesn’t mind it. he’d rather it, in fact.  jun is probably a red fox. he tends to be rather solitary, even if he interacts with a lot of people, and it’s difficult to really understand who he is or what he’s thinking. he’s also really intelligent and playful, which makes his snarky comments on you especially painful because he makes it clever. just ignoring him would be the best thing to do! teng would be, obviously, as referenced so many times, a bear. he’s like a mother bear! he’s territorial and he’s loving and caring and deeply protective of people who he cares about! he’s also very accepting of others though, and while he appears fierce and brash on the outside, he’s just a huge softy on the inside. another possible animal for him would be the elephant! jia would be a horse. she’s fiery and independent and passionate and full of zest. she’s also really honest and frank, and she’s always ready to take action, like you know things are gonna get done when jia’s around. she’s just that reliable. (i’m sorry, i can’t find an appropriate animal for yu(m) as of yet) 5. What’s the theme song of your wip? i’ve answered this here!  6. What’s your wip’s colour scheme? oh no i’m not good at colours or things like that. i guess the most i can say is probably bluish and like, salmon pink-ish and sunset-yellow-ish?? i don’t even know! 7. What first inspired this wip? OKAY. so there’s this story / tale in chinese folklore about something called the peach blossom springs , which is about this guy who kinda accidentally followed a river to a spring, and then found this utopia land where people kinda led like the perfect, ideal existence without any knowledge of the turmoil going on in the outside world.  there’s also this other thing in mythology about the yellow springs (not the one in ohio), whereby this spring would lead to the underworld or something like that? and so i was like hmMMMmmmm can you imagine the dichotomy between these two? what if someone was in search of the peach blossom springs but what they found was instead this pathway to hell  (i actually wrote a completely unrelated short story about that, which... isn’t the best, yknow, but i had a little bit of fun with it) so yea! that was literally the premise of my wip! it’s not explicitly mentioned anywhere in my wip and you’ve gotta do a lot of inferences for it, but this inspiration is still kinda, sorta there if you squint. so yeah!  8. What style of illustrations would you want for it if you could hire any artist? i would like the artist to be me and i would like to be able to draw.  9. Which of your characters would be the least vs most freaked out to find out they’re fictional? HA. most of them wouldn’t be freaked out at all. with how everything has been going for them, they’re most likely just gonna go like ‘well, this might as well happen’. or maybe even ‘of course this must be it’. jun and zhen in particular would be so done with it. they’re not even in the least bit freaked out (in fact, jun probably knows a little bit about it since... well, he likes to give self-referential jokes) teng’s probably the only one who’d be the most freaked out, but by then no one really cares about his reaction. 10. Which of your characters could get away with robbing a bank? Why? oh, almost all of them. shou wouldn’t do it, but if he did, he’d annoy the police officers into letting him go. zhen would be able to find so many goddamn loopholes in everything and talking to her is like going through inception 10x in one day. like, you don’t even know what is right and what is wrong or what is up and what is down. you don’t know anything anymore. & lu would be right there being her biggest sycophant. jun would legit be able to get away with robbing a bank. you probably won’t even know he did it. you won’t even suspect him. everyone else around him is a huge suspect though, because he will pin it on them all.  jia would be hella good too, like if her mind’s set on a heist, she’s gonna do a heist and it’s gonna be done brilliantly and if she wants it to be a huge media spectacle, she’s going to be able to pull it off without getting caught. she goes all in man, what can i tell you? 11. Which of your characters would be the worst to interact with on tumblr? so many of them.  teng would be one of those blogs you block immediately on sight because all his posts are about loneliness and wanting to search for love and things like that.  you don’t even want to look at shou’s mess. lu will be unnecessarily aggressive to everything and anything he sees. you post a photo of food? GIVE IT TO ME YOU HEARTLESS ASSHOLE OF AN ADULT WHAT’S THE POINT OF HAVING A JOB AND EARNING MONEY IF YOU WON’T GIVE FOOD TO A KID??!!! jun would be terrible. imagine that he has a writeblr. imagine that he has the greatest, most thought-provoking, most imaginative and never-before-thought-of premise that you could’ve possibly seen on this site. it is beautiful. the first lines that he has posted are magnificent. you want more -- nay, you clamour for more! it is all that is sustaining you in this life! yea, you know what’s gonna happen. he’s gonna tempt you with all that sweet fruit and he’s not gonna log on again. like, ever. maybe once in five years to dangle another juicy bit, and then he’s out.  he’s the worst. block him at all costs.

What do you prefer?: first, second or third gen kpop songs?

I generally prefer second generation??? I think????? I like a bit of all of them tho. but like there is no definitive answer to when each of the generations start and end so like I don't even know??? but most of my fav groups as far as music goes are older around 2nd gen but a fair amount of them are gen 3, I have a really strong love for kpop that was released between 2009-2014.

Tell me a fun childhood story (I’ll start! One time an aunt gave me money to buy ‘papas’ (potatoes) at the grocery store so bc I’m obedient af I went and asked the counter lady how many of em could I buy with the money I had so she went ‘uhh, not many tbh’ so i ended up getting like two and when I returned to my aunt’s house she laughed her ass off and said: I meant ‘papas fritas’ (potato chips) Not those! - and uh yeah this is funnier in Spanish but it proves that I’m such an innocent angel I mean wow)

ok so I spent a lot of time at my aunt Lori’s house when I was a kid (like summers, and after school) and my cousin was the BUG queen so she hand made leashes for her pet toads (that she caught) and we walked them around on leashes for like a week but I was always so afraid of them and also hurting them so I WAS NOT ABOUT THAT ahahaha dumb story but it makes me laugh alsoalsoalsdo they had this bench swing in their back yard and my cousin my sister and I would swing on it together for hours at a time and one time we were swinging real hard (REAL HARD) and the links?? or whatever that held it to the ceiling it was hanging from snapped and the three of us of us flew off of it and we all collectively blacked out??? it was so weird but I woke up to my cousin stuggling to get me off of her and then there lays my sister underneath the bench just blacked out chilling (she was fine) then my aunt came running out cause she had just heard the loudest crash ahsdfasdf not long after my uncle put stronger links on it and that bench is still there! From time to time when the three of us get together this story gets brought up its still the most hilarious thing ( ALSO CLOUD YOU ARE SO PURE I LOVE)
