#ugh this show is just so good

So true! And the way he knows what his bros are capable of and trusts them enough to be able to hold the fort while he and Splinter are gone.

Like when he comes back and names exactly what they did, like Mikey razzmatazzing, April using her crane license, that stuff! It shows he knows his team really well and that’s the sign of a great leader.

Also his ability to assess situations quickly and come up with clever solutions, keeping in mind the capabilities and personalities of not only his team but his enemies as well is so cool to watch. The way he tricked Big Mama without her catching on at all until he started acting out his plan was so cool, he honestly had me fooled too. And how he knew Big Mama would double cross him and send him into the ring as well, and instead of trying to prevent that, he used it as part of his plan! He’s honestly so clever and smart and his leadership shines in all the places Raph lacks. Which, no hate to Raph, he’s also a great leader. I’m so sad we didn’t really get to see Leo grow into leadership and see how Raph deals with that, it would’ve been so interesting to watch!!

And don’t even get me started on Man vs. Sewer. They were just giving us a taste of Leo’s leadership skills in that episode. The way Leo steps up and takes over the literal second Raph is gone! He’s usually all silly and cracking jokes, but he knows Raph doesn’t deal well with being alone and so he urges his brothers to help him find Raph ASAP. He doesn’t waste time swinging bridges even tho it would be fun or needlessly diving into analytics to see if Raph was the one who trashed up a place, he just gets down to business and leads the way. I don’t think he cracks a single joke the entire time. He just immediately lets go of the silly middle child persona and gets serious, enough to cancel out Donnie and Mikey’s goofiness throughout the episode. (Which clashes with how he acts in the movie, but I get it. Plots gotta plot)

To be honest, that episode is my absolute favorite because it dives into multiple of the boy’s psychologies. Most obvious is Raph’s separation anxiety, which is just the cutest especially since he’s the oldest. Leo’s leadership is also pretty obvious, but something I find interesting is how it could be used to fuel Donnie’s feelings of uselessness to the team. Throughout the episode he continues to express how it’s his day off and so he refuses to contribute, but every time he tries to imply they would need his help to solve a problem, they just breeze past it easily anyway. It’s played for laughs, but I think it’d be really interesting to think about how that may have affected him on the inside knowing they didn’t really need him for as many things as he might’ve thought they would.

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.

And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.

It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:

“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”

And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

now what i really love about bad blood (besides everything else about bad blood) is how EXPRESSIVE scully is when we see her in mulder-vision. maybe because they're so in tune, maybe because he's a phenomenal profiler, maybe because he loves her. he just sees through all of the guards she puts up so easily

not to keep talking about this but if greta decides to take the religious aspects out of her narnia reboot or whatever then there's really no point in even making it. christianity runs so deep in everything related to narnia that taking it out would cause the whole story to fall apart, it would just be another hollow remake and if that's the route she's gonna go (which she most likely will) then i'll just stick to the disney movie and reading the books.

Headcanon that Leo really loved to give his family massages growing up. We know that he’s good at them from the episode “You Got Served” and we know he likes spas and relaxation and getting massages himself from when he tried to get these in “Bad Hair Day” and from when Donnie made a tennis ball massage machine in “Smart Lair.”

So I think it’d be cute to think that maybe one day Leo overheard Splinter complaining about a bad back and immediately Leo thinks back to a comic or movie or something he saw where a massage helped so he offers to give one and it actually ends up helping Splinter.

Then April swings by the Lair at a later time and mentions her back hurting because of her backpack from school and Leo’s all like “I gotcha!”

From there, he occasionally manages to convince Donnie to sit for one because Donnie’s shrimp posture does not help him any (Leo pokes fun at how sandpaper-y Donnie’s shell is despite knowing it’s always like that and Donnie smacks him for it.) Donnie usually prefers hand massages instead however as all his typing and inventing adds up over time, and shoulder massages too once he starts wearing his battle shells more. Leo also figures out how to give massages to Raph and Mikey’s shells as well, though it’s a struggle at first to not scratch his hands on Raph’s spikes.

I think since Leo has such bad luck with spas and the like, he tries giving himself massages (though it’s not as helpful.) Like, with how his abilities work his legs are probably always aching from his portal jumping and one foot landings, so maybe he branches past back massages out of a need to help his own aches too. (Though he really wants a shell massage himself, the same way he’d give them…the one time with Donnie’s tennis ball massage machine was but a short moment of what Leo’s been missing out on and what he’ll continue missing out on…)

I don’t know, I just think it’d be cute to think Leo could have honed his massaging skill this way in order to help out his family (and also partially because he wants a massage himself.)

just accidentally stumbled on an egwene hate reddit thread and everyone was bitching about how she tries to act like rand's equal when she's only the second-most powerful authority figure on the continent, and one sane person was like "well, balance was a huge theme of the series, so it's pretty clear that RJ did consider the dragon and the amyrlin two halves of a whole and that rand is meant to be egwene's equal co-authority rather than her superior" and of course they were downvoted to hell. and this one little thread just really epitomizes how the readers who approach WOT as a male power fantasy just fundamentally will never understand the series and its themes and the story it was ACTUALLY telling.
