The way I feel about Glinda and Elphaba is actually very similar to how I feel about the biblical story of David and Jonathan because I do think it’s really valuable to show intimate, meaningful platonic relationships between the same gender and it’s important that we recognize how these friendships often become our most important in lieu of decent familial ones, it’s representation we need more of

I intended for the post these tags are on to be the last thing I say about fandom misogyny for a While because I felt like I covered everything already but oh my god YES I agree So hard

In general, while I do think Princess/TLQ are permanent partners, they're also not...human. they certainly act human, but they don't carry the same societal baggage that we get saddled either by virtue of being born surrounded by other humans.

And then "marriage" as a concept is one that is so vastly different in so many cultures and time periods, and at least for the kinds of marriages I'm familiar with, there are a Lot of benefits for abusive partners and Especially men to obtain legal and financial power over their partner through marriage. Like, so much of marriage, on top of its symbolic and romantic value, is also its legal and financial ones, as well as social positioning/maneuvering-"wife" carries more weight than "girlfriend", serves as a status symbol. I don't think the Princess and TLQ would really care for that.

HEA doesn't touch on the complicated socioeconomic issues that come with marriage, especially traditional/heterosexual marriage, but it does touch on so much of the domestic unhappiness that comes with it, especially in regards to how you, the player, and the Smitten keep her in this unhappy, stale situation she's Supposed to be happy with. Opportunist even calls her "our queenly wife."

So like on top of marriage being a distinctly human construct/invention I'm not sure those two would vibe with when they can literally merge their souls together at any given moment. HEA in particular would fucking hate it. She's already Been trapped with a partner in a situation all too similar to the Traditional marriage. I could see arguments for other princesses. for a modern-AU Prisoner using marriage for tax benefits and secretly being delighted when she signs the papers, for Tower or Nightmare to make the player legally her pet in a similar fashion, for the Wounded Wild to accept it...

Never HEA. And yet the majority of StP marriage content is HEA, because she's their favorite and she's wife. Never mind how much she hated it. Never mind that her whole route is about how much she hated it. She's wife! We love her! She loves us! Of course she'd marry us, there's no other option! We HAVE to symbolically own her and tie her to us forever! Right???

share your clancybearer headcanons now 🔪 HAND EM OVER

I was literally in the middle of reading your Clancybearer HC post when you sent this lmao

Uhhhh I think 99% of these are things we've already talked about, but I always like an excuse to yap about my boys. Plus I've been wanting to start posting tøp headcanons on here anyway :)

• So first of all, I am 100% a 'Clancybearer childhood friends' truther. Clancy and TB became friends when they were around 6 years old, but were separated when they were 8. Clancy forgot about TB after a while, and it wasn't until he spent a decent amount of time with the Banditos that Clancy actually figured out TB was the friend from his childhood.

• Clancy and TB both seem confident, but neither of them actually think very highly of themselves. They think very highly of each other, though. They both consider each other to be the coolest guy in the world lol

• TB and Clancy try to keep a professional yet friendly relationship with the Banditos. Despite leading a rebellion, neither of them like being treated like authority figures (TB especially hates it. Despite all his efforts to seem like a normal guy, the Banditos can't help but idolise him).

• They both love a good joke/harmless prank. Once Clancy gets comfortable interacting with the Banditos, he and TB become an unstoppable duo of pranksters. Every new Bandito falls for their bs at least once 😔

• TB has great people skills, and Clancy has abysmal people skills. But they're both really good with kids.

• They're both terrible at dealing with their own emotions/trauma/other issues. They want to help with each other's problems, but absolutely refuse to address their own.

• What Clancy and TB have goes beyond the concepts of 'platonic' or 'romantic'. They don't even need to label their relationship tbh, they're just soulmates no matter what the nature of their relationship is. But the Banditos start to assume they're in a romantic relationship, since there's only so much cuddling, kissing, sharing a tent, etc, that they can do before everyone else starts being like 🏳️‍🌈🤨???

Ugh I have sooo many more things I could say about them but these are just some that came to my mind right now :) I'm also purposefully avoiding my ✨angsty✨ Clancybearer headcanons because if I include those, we'll be here forever lmao. But maybe I'll post some of those at some point too >:)

Not to be sincere on main but honestly just watching Nick and his friends asserting his bisexuality every time someone assumed he was gay just... Like it wasn't just "oh well I'm with a boy so I'm basically gay, nevermind it's basically the same thing" it was "this part of my identity is important no matter who I'm dating, so I am going to make that distinction known, I am going to correct you when you make that assumption, you don't get to reduce me to 'one or the other'" and it made my bisexual heart very happy :)
