I think Tumblr and other social medias have aged to become more like a community where everybody assumes they are friends with everyone (unless they disagree with them). Like as social media gets introduced to younger and younger kids every year, the sense and need of privacy is no longer there.

Now for people, someone showing their art might be akin to a friend showing their drawing to you, it becomes expected so the less detailed compliments they give.

The solution could be to make your page more professional so people dont get the idea they are your friends, since you do post things that would be considered talk between friends (like simping for jack). But i get the feeling you'd hate that since it would essentially turn your page into more of a statistics rather than a warm environment.

DW, I get what you're trying to say 😔 It's annoying that more and more people in fandom nowadays seem to know little to none of fandom etiquette... and it's not just the teens, it's a worryingly amount of adults too

Creators want validation, nice comments and asks but they also want respect... one parasocial interaction which is especially common with artists and writers are the ''can you teach me how to draw/write/how to create ocs'' or by seeking validation for their own personal stuff (sending their art or pictures unsolicited so YOU specifically can feedback it, or asking you to opinion on their ocs) like..... I can see these actions may come from a genuine place, but it should be common sense that these are weird ways to start a conversation with a creator you supposedly admire. It feels intrusive and demanding.

And sometimes the intention is not even bad, it's just phrased in a demanding way that makes creators feel pressured. Rephrasing ''can you teach me how to draw/write'' with ''hello! I love your art/writing! if you don't mind me asking, could you share your creative process or maybe tips?'' makes a WHOLE difference! it's more polite and acknowledges the creator’s boundaries, making the request feel more like a compliment than a demand.

Ugh, the thing is... making the blog more ''professional'' takes away the whole point of it. Tumblr is one of the few spaces left where you can scream into the void about your interests, gush over things you love, and just exist as a person, not a content machine. Unlike algorithm-driven platforms like tiktok or twitter, in here it lets you control your space; your blog is yours to curate, to fill with weirdness, passion, and whimsy. Here, creators feel like real people, not just faceless usernames churning out "content" for engagement. I do not feel comfortable being as much personal on twitter for example, where any nosy person can QRT you being unnecessarily mean because the platform's culture prioritizes performative snark and clout over genuine creativity or connection. Tumblr was always a place for the weirdos, the cringe and the freaks, no one is here to make a brand out of themselves, it's about being authentic and having fun.

Creators should absolutely be allowed to be loose, weird, and fun here while still being respected 😔

As requested here are a few Virgils and Remys from my many AUs. It's become a weird trend where Virgil is usually the teen/kid aged one in my AUs, but no matter what he is still ready to yell at a bitch if needed to. So is the Remys & they're adults

- New Eden au. Basically the sides are in a psych ward (it's not a horror au i promise). could be interesting bc Virgil is pretty toxic in this one but for actual understandable reasons and certainly Not abusive. Viv and Remy btw Loathes each other in this au but he will still protect them and vice verse. And Remy is in a healthy relationship. Both of them have trauma from abuse sooo - Succubus au. Just mentioning bc Remy is an actual legit demon in this one. from hell. - James Bond au. Virgil is the son of an actual super villain but is now in therapy and tyring to move past the fucked up shit he's done and he's like 17 so he's def ready to yell at someone. Remy has a license to kill. And a gun. And a husband (: Sad dad au - Virgil is like 5 in this one. can you imagine being judged by your own 5 year old self. jesus fucking christ. Remy in this au had a similar childhood to the Remy in this au so they would uh definitely have some thoughts about virgil -Remus gets pregnante au (but like trans). Virgil is a dog in this one. Current fandom makes me sick. It's a bunch of uneducated kids and adults who don't know their own history trying to demand that sane people change their habits because they can't be bothered to use AO3 properly and filter out the content they don't want to see.

AO3 was made so that fanfic authors have a safe space to post their content without the fear of being sued and they ask for money in order to maintain the website and so we're not bombarded by a bunch of adds when we just want to read our favourite characters.

The proshipper movement and the purity culture that surrounds it is a plague on current fandom and you're going to find more and more content creators leaving because of asshole anons like the one this poor author received. I also find it amusing that anon attacked them for using AO3 when other websites don't have the same level of tagging to avoid triggering content that AO3 does.

I'm just glad that some people managed to talk to the author and make them realise they aren't in the wrong.

I've been into Oneus since... maybe February this year? I only got dragged into kpop in January though 😅 My friend sent me a bunch of recommendations, Valkyrie and TBONTB being two of them. I though they were good but didn't totally hook me, but then I clicked onto the No Diggity MV and that was me, doomed 😆

i love horror too! scary and creepy stuff is great! i had a phase (in junior high, of course) when i only listened to metal and jrock/visual key lmao.

i became a fan in late spring. fell in love with twilight on first listen 😂 no diggity isn't among my fave title tracks but i love the visuals in the mv 😍 their mvs are usually pretty great, i love watching them. but that shouldn't be a surprise since there's nothing i love watching more than mvs 😂 well okay, i love animal videos more, i admit that 😆 much more 😆

ah, i suddenly remembered that my mom once came in when i was watching come back home and she got scared... idk how it's possible that i love horror so much and she wouldn't watch a horror movie even if someone paid her good money 😂
