genuinely had a dream last night that jack manifold and ellie neale broke up and they weren’t saying why but after a few weeks jack revealed on shut up im taking that it was bc he caught her reading schlatt fanfic on tumblr and it became a really public messy breakup and schlatt got involved and then a bunch of drama channels started covering it and defending ellie like "its not real. its not cheating its called real person FICTION. she didn’t do anything wrong" and the other side was like “that’s so fucked up schlatt and jack are good friends and she’s a cheater and a BITCH” and schlatt was like “what can i say ladies love me🤷‍♂️” and it became a huge drama thing that ppl got SO invested in and there were like hardcore stans and it went to court and was being streamed on twitch and it was all so fucking crazy. schlatt paid everyone off and put jack in jail at the end and i woke up with tears in my eyes and im dead fucking serious.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if you didn’t like tsats that’s completely valid, however I truly feel like many of y’all are making shit up… because yes, the book is indeed not the best book ever written, but some of you guys just completely erase 90% of it and MAKE UP critiques abt things that are literally NOT THERE

For instance, I’ve seen many many people saying that tsats heavily suggested a “Will is trying to fix Nico” narrative and let me tell you! You need reading glasses, because that did NOT happen. One of the main points in Will’s character development was quite literally and explicitly him accepting his own darkness, and the fact that it’s okay to not always and solely be “light”. I don’t know what could possibly make y’all say otherwise when it’s not even “heavily implied” but EXPLICIT that’s what happened. There’s a very present change bwtween how Will reacts to the underworld initially (qnd I could make a whole post abt it cause y’all need to lowkey give him a break) and how he does later in the book. Or maybe I should mention the whole Aphrodite scene? Or his reaction to the cocopuffs (=literally Nico’s demons)? Or even the JOKE of the “really dark toast”??

Not to mention people who critic things that got solved in the books… like that’s also wild as well im sorry ijbol😭😭 (mind you, it’s never a critique abt HOW an issue was solved in tsats, which would be valid and make sense. Its just a complaint about something either of the previous books or that was made up, and later got explicity solved in tsats)

i seriously need more narumi and mina moments because just imagine the relief mina felt when narumi joined, similar age to her and was also considered a prodigy in the force.

to have someone to share the burden of the defence force’s future with must’ve felt so freeing. because before he joined it was just her, age 18, being told that she was going to change kaiju extermination with her exceptional synergy with firearms. and she was so, so scared.

narumi doesn’t have the kind of skills or talent for long range combat like she does, but he’s also a top candidate (despite his behavioural issues- which aren’t much of a hinderance anyway) and mina doesn’t have to carry the burden of the future alone anymore

(although she’d never admit, given she probably views narumi as someone completely shocking i just think it’s so funny how she stood there like O_O when she first saw him)

like i LOVE seeing the contrast. mina who was sent onto the battlefield for the first time and was deathly afraid vs narumi who was sent out and immediately took action because that’s how he always lived (fighting)

and now they’re the top two strongest captains in the force and they will be the ones to lead the new generation..

so far i feel ok towards dav though it’s more that I like my rook she’s so gorgina so that is enhancing my experience. but as an extension to the series I do think it’s a bit disappointing that none of the past choices mattered and apparently who your inquisitor kisses is more important than literally any of the other choices you’ve done in the past games which is a big disappointment for me considering dragon age’s whole thing was that your choices do matter! and they carry over! and I do get that so many years has passed in the game, and it’s also set in a different region but I still think the world altering choices you’ve picked (like who the divine is) should’ve been relevant still. or the very least give me the illusion that playing the series is worth it by giving me codex entries on what is everyone is up to. I’ll literally take one mention of my past decisions over nothing 🥲😪

to me dav feels like andromeda - on it’s own it’s enjoyable! but as a part of its series it does feel a bit weak. though I’m still in act 1 so maybe my stance on it will change but so far it’s hrrmn ehhh ok like I’m not blown away over anything. my rook is so cutie tho I love her sm
