ok so i posted this last night but only a portion of it posted for some reason so this is take 2! I hope you love it, and ill let you in on a secret. First i started writing like a normal one-shot but then i remembered that this is PITCHMAS so i apologize in advance if some of the storyline seems a little off. anyways, happy holidays i hopr you love it!

"Where's Amy?" Beca said as she pushed her way into the small studio apartment. She had had a long day at the office and just wanted to curl up in bed with her friend, eat take out and fall asleep to those stupid hallmark movies Chloe loves so much.

"Out with Bumper grabbing a smoothie," Chloe turned around from where she was standing at the small stove, cooking mac and cheese.

"Grabbing a smoothie or 'grabbing a smoothie'" Beca said with a smirk, tossing her bag onto their shared bed and hanging her jacket on the back of the front door.

"The second one," Chloe laughed and turned back to their dinner. "Grab some bowls? This is just about done Becs,".

"Good. We can finally get some decent sleep tonight." Becs stood up from where she had been untie-ing her shoes and kicked them off before heading to the cabinet which held their bowls. She grabbed the first two she saw and placed them next to the pot that her best friend was mixing. "Beer, wine, or something stronger for this fancy Christmas Eve meal?" She questioned, heading to their fridge next.

"What do you think?" Chloe said blatantly, bringing their filled bowls to the small table.

"Stronger" Beca mumbled, grabbing a can of Country Time lemonade and splitting it into two glasses, filling those the rest of the way with strawberry svedka. "Rough day at school?" She questioned as she sat across from the redhead, immediately digging into her 'meal'.

Chloe just nodded, looking into her noodles. Becs noted the distracted and sad look and put down her fork to reach over and gently lay her hand on the one Chloe has empty. She waited for the woman to make eye contact, but after a few moments of waiting for the redhead to look up so she could catch those big blinkey eyes she heard Chloe let out a long sigh.

"If you don't wanna talk about it, that's fine Chlo-" Beca begins sincerely.

"I-I failed my test, Becs". The brunette watched a tear streak down her best friends cheek and quickly scooted her chair next to the redheads. She wrapped her other arm around her, and squeezed her hand tightly.

"Oh Chlo," she said sadly. The poor woman had been studying for weeks and Beca had spent hours quizzing her with flash cards. "Is there..." she paused as Chloe practically threw herself into Becas arms. The brunette immediately pulled her close and wrapped her in a tight hug. "Is there any way you can take it again? I'm sure it was just the nerves Chlo, I mean, we spent weeks studying for that! There's no way-"

"It wasn't the test," the woman sniffled "there was a lab section, remember?" Becs nodded, and she continued, pulling away slightly so she could see the brunettes dark blue eyes. "Well it was this giant-" she sniffled again "cow and-and I was supposed to-" she removed an arm from around Becas neck.

The brunette watched her best friend make a fist and then open it, a look of concentration and sadness on her face.

"I was supposed to-" another sniffle and the redhead makes a sort of thrusting motion with her fist.

Becs doesn't understand.

"Rectal exam... and I couldn't do it Becs, I just- I just left!" Chloe lets out a sob and throws her arms around her best friends neck and begins to cry onto her shoulder.

Beca is at first at a loss for words at first, so she just runs a hand up and down the redheads back while she smoothes her hand down with the other.

Chloe cries a little harder and that's when Beca snaps back to reality.

"Hey, hey... Chlo. It's gonna be okay," in return she gets another sob into her shoulder so she places a long kiss on top of red hair. "I'm sure they will let you retake the test, you're the best trainee in the program Chloe."

At that Chloe pulls away slightly again. "You really think so?"

"I know so." Becs states confidently and tucks a strand of hair behind her friends ear, bringing their faces close. "They will let you retake it, and you will pass and become the best veterinarian in the whole state of New York. You know why?"

Chloe shakes her head and Beca brings her hands to the other woman's cheeks, cupping her face.

"Because I'll be right there with you the whole time." That gets Chloe to laugh and nod her head.

"I don't think they'll let you do that but-"

"No buts!" Beca declared and let go of Chloe's face. "Your gonna get your cute butt up tomorrow and go back and demand a retake!"

Chloe smiled and wiped at her cheeks as Beca went back to her bowl of Mac and Cheese to eat it.

"Tomorrow's Christmas, and school's closed for two weeks, but I'll demand a retake!" Chloe declared and picked up her fork before digging in, suddenly very confident compared to the crying mess she had been only moments before.

"Either way, that's my girl!" Beca laughs.

An hour later Beca was pouring two shots of a strange eggnog mix that Amy had brought home while Chloe set up a hallmark movie on Becas laptop.

"Please tell me we're not watching 'Elf' again. I can't take any more of Will Farrell's voice this week, Chlo," Beca carried the shots the short distance to their shared bed and set them on the bedside table before getting comfy.

"Were not. I know you hate him, so we're watching one of my favorite childhood Christmas movies," the redhead smiled and took the shot Beca held out to her. They said "cheers" and drank them before getting cozy.

"And what would that be?" Beca said unenthusiastically. She wrapped an arm around Chloe as she put her laptop on both of their laps.

"The Polar Express, duh"

"Nope!" Beca said and slammed her laptop closed.

"Beca!! Please?" Chloe begged. "It's Christmas Eve, c'mon!" She opened her eyes as big as she could, blinking dramatically and pouting her lip.

"Not happening Chlo. I'm not watching a movie about some stupid kids on a train to the North Pole full of strangers!" Beca watches as bright blue eyes seem to fill with tears. "Oh no-no crying Chloe-"

"But-"

"Nope"

"Butitstheonlythingthatwillmakemefeelbettersinceifailedmytesttoday" she spits out quickly and Beca can barely understand her.

She sighs and slowly reopens her laptop to Netflix.

"Yay!" Chloe beamed and pulled the comforter over their legs and cuddled back into Becas side-all evidence of tears and sadness gone.

"One condition," the brunette says, wrapping an arm around the redhead and looking down at her. Chloe meets the dark blue eyes and smiles. "I get to open my present halfway through this stupid film."

"No you have to wait until tomorr-"

"I'm not going to hesitate to close this again..."

"Fine. But I get mine too then." Chloe says, leaning over the side of the bed and grabbing a smaller box from under the bed. Wrapped to perfection in Santa wrapping paper.

When Chloe looked back at Beca again, a smile grew on her face as she caught her best friend blushing.

"What?"

"Nothing." Beca stated and placed a heavy bag on Chloe's lap. Chloe handed her gift over to her bedmate.

"You first, Becs." Chloe smiled fondly and pulled her friend closer. She had put a lot of thought into Becas gift this year, more than she ever had when they were in college, years ago.

The brunette smiled and carefully took the box that had been delicately wrapped in red. Lifting it up to her ear and gently shaking it, she locked eyes with her bedmate and smiled having some idea of what was inside.

"Go ahead" Chloe whispered, as if she were talking to one of her little animal patients.

"I'm going, I'm going you loser", Beca laughed and began tearing away at the paper.

Chloe watched as the smile on the brunettes face grow as she pulled out a pair of engraved, limited edition headphones that Beca had been fantasizing and going on and on about for ages.

As Beca stared in awe, mouth slightly open, the redhead remembered the other gift she had taped to the side. Grabbing it and placing it on top of the headphone box, she caught Becas attention, as well as the eyes of an angel;the woman she loved.

"Chloe oh my god" it comes out as a rushed whisper, Becas hand coming up to hold her best friends on top of the other small gift.

When their eyes met the redhead froze. This wasn't a look she was familiar with, in fact the amount of times she had seen it could be counted on one hand. Her cheeks were red, blue eyes glassed over with tears and a smile so big and bright that Chloe felt like she was going to drown.

"I wanted to spoil you since...you know it's technically our first Christmas." The redhead tried to Shrug it off.

"You went to Barden for 7 years chloe, I can't imagine how much debt you must have been in from that alone. I mean-"

"Bec-"

"And these?? Chloe Beale!" The redhead watched Becas face soften even more, a tear of joy falling gracefully down red cheeks.

"Beca-"

"You are amazing." The brunette finished and looked down at the box beneath their laced fingers.

She gently let go of the redheads hand in favor of lifting the top off of the small package. Inside sat two golden chains, one with the letter 'C' in fancy cursive, the other a 'B'.

"Aw," she began but Chloe finally managed to cut her off.

"I thought, you know. Since your always at the studio, or out of town and I'm always at the vet we could...you know each have a little part of the other with us?" Chloe smiles hopefully, and Beca quickly meets her eyes.

"Chloe Beale, your so good to me" she whispered, bringing a hand up to push a stray lock of red hair out of her best friends face.

Chloe just smiles in return, and presses her face into Becas hand when she keeps it there, lingering and softly stroking her cheek.

It's only when she catches dark blue eyes glance down at her lips does she say something.

"Beca." It's whispered this time, so quietly that only the two can hear.

"Mm?" The brunette hums and brings their eyes back together.

It's that moment that both girls know there's no going back after tonight.

Chloe pushes forward, bringing their lips together in a searing kiss. Immediately both girls are shocked by the intensity that the other has brought but neither pull back, they just stay in that position. Arms around each other and practically sitting on one another.

"Chloe" the brunette says into the redheads mouth as she pulls her closer, deepening their kiss with a hand to the back of her neck.

"Yea?" She whispers back as their lips break apart for an instant.

"Why are you so good to me" she says as they rest their foreheads together, having quickly run out of breath.

"I love you" is the only whispered response.

The next morning Beca wakes with a start, eyes shooting open as she remembers what has happened the previous night.

It takes a minute or two for her to realize that the Chloe Beale curled into her side is best friend Chloe Beale, but Naked. The events are remembered one by one, backwards almost. Their shared goodnight kiss on the lips, hands running up bare backs, fingers in new territories, kissing, their clothes being thrown out of the bed and down to wherever they landed, more kissing, the gifts carefully being set aside for later and more kissing.

She smiles and wraps a cold hand tightly around a bare hip, smiling as Chloe stirs.

"Morning sunshine. Merry Christmas," Beca says softly and brushes back a mane of red hair, placing a gentle kiss on perky lips.

State of the Wall: 12-2-17

As always, the schedule is subject to change for any number of reasons, I’m pretty locked down with these choices… aside from MAYBE my Top 15 Favorite Episodes. I keep waffling on it, but for now it’s what we’re going with.

The Road to 500… and the 10th Anniversary 2018 will mark the 10th Anniversary of Atop the Fourth Wall! Needless to say, it’s going to be a big year for the show. If everything goes according to plan, there will be two storylines within it – the Contest of Champions arc that began in October as well as a shorter 10th Anniversary storyline whose name I shall reveal once we get to it, likely ending October 29th (if not the 22nd to coincide with the 10th Anniversary episode).

To celebrate this momentous time, every review that is not a Patreon-sponsored episode will be a follow-up to something from the past ten years! This would include sequel episodes to previous material, like another issue of something covered previously, a thematic follow-up like, say, from the same creators as a popular episode or could be thought of as following the same ideas as that episode. However, thankfully some of the Patreon-sponsored episodes themselves will be follow-ups, as indicated by the January 29th episode being the second act of Homestuck (which should hopefully make the many Homestuck fans asking for me to cover the next act happy).

Along those same lines, we’ll be doing the second Patreon Viewers’ Choice episode! The official announcement for the poll on that one will likely come at the end of the Top 15 Favorite Episodes of AT4W, but I’m letting you see the choices now to start thinking about it. The choice will be between three goofy tie-in comics I’ve covered previously – another issue of NFL SuperPro, another issue of Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos, or going all the way back to James Bond, Jr.’s first issue. I did return to James Bond, Jr. for a live show that hasn’t been put up yet, but we haven’t seen it on the show proper since the end of 2009. A comment on that issue is the source of the infamous “You’ll never be as popular as the BeeGees!” comment that is now immortalized on the back of the second DVD.

But of course there’s even another big even happening in 2018 as part of the 10th Anniversary – we’re going to hit the 500th episode! I definitely want to do some special stuff this year for the 500th, most especially being another livestream like we had for the 300th. It’ll take some time to plan, but here’s a list of ideas I have currently for it: -More testimonials, trivia, and anecdotes like in the 300th -Showing some otherwise-DVD exclusive content from all my DVDs, including the Movie -Showing the previous “100th episodes” – Sonic Live #1, Spider-Man: One More day, Holy Terror, and Marvel Super Special #7: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band -A live showing of the conclusion to Pokémon Omicron, where we’ll take on the Elite 4 -Various Longbox of the Damned episodes -Special guests -Live-riffing some shorts

These are all just ideas for the time being, so if you have any of your own, feel free to let me know! We’ve got 5-6 months until the 500th and I’d love to know what people think!

Platform Change 4: The Revengeance of the Whils VidMe has announced that they are shutting down their services as of December 15th. As such, there are going to be some changes in how things are handled around here. This is the FOURTH time that a platform has failed and I have had enough. We hadn’t even really finished replacing the vidme embeds on the LAST embed player change, so screw it: we’re going all in on youtube. There might be an option for Vimeo down the road, but for now, here’s in the broad sense what’s going to happen: -All Atop the Fourth Wall videos, from here on, will be thumbnail images of the title card that you click through to go straight to youtube. -All Longbox of the Damned embeds will be made into youtube embeds. Next year’s Longbox videos are currently up in the air, but hey – we’ve got ten months to figure that out and maybe have a tried and tested system in place. For now, it makes more sense to make them youtube embeds because of people’s nature in marathon-viewing videos and Longbox videos are short enough as-is. -New videos like vlogs, side content, and Let’s Plays will follow the title card thumbnail process being used for Atop the Fourth Wall. Old videos are up in the air, but they will likely be embedded videos just to make life easier on us as we once again replace everything. -History of Power Rangers… well, that’s a bit of a beast all on its own. Refer to the History of Power Rangers section below for more details.

As always, I ask for patience during yet another period of transition. Plenty of videos will be unavailable during this time (including crossovers in particular), but we’ll try our damndest to get things back to working order as soon as possible.

History of Power Rangers I’m happy to report that FINALLY, all of History of Power Rangers is back up after so many months of being down due to ContentID striking many of them from VidMe. Minor edits have been made due to the lengths of certain clips used…

…And you can only enjoy them for another 13 days because VidMe is shutting down. Or rather you can DOWNLOAD them for another 13 days using a third-party downloader.

Simply put: I’ve had it. These videos were made for a different time, when Blip was the main video host and longer usage of video clips wasn’t an issue. The platforms have dwindled and it’s down to youtube and I’ve already tried to upload these videos to youtube once before and it didn’t end well. The audio quality of these videos isn’t that great compared to my current standards and many of them utilized low-quality pirated versions of episodes recorded off of TV. I own all of Power Rangers on DVD now and new Power Rangers content that I put out has to come from legitimate sources like DVDs anyway. I simply cannot make these older versions work anymore. Don’t bother trying to suggest another video host like Vimeo or DailyMotion. Aside from both having their own ContentID systems, I am tired of trying to accommodate an inferior product.

Work will begin anew on the revised History of Power Rangers videos. While I had wanted to work on them in order, it took forever just to get the SLIGHTLY-edited versions back on VidMe due to my busy schedule. As such, I’m going to release them on youtube out of order, starting with Overdrive through RPM (Samurai, Megaforce, and Dino Charge already exist on youtube) because of their already-decent audio quality. If you want the old versions (and sadly that will now include the SLIGHTLY-edited versions that I have put up more recently), feel free to download them however way you can, because I am no longer going to try to support it. Let it not be said that I didn’t TRY to keep them up after so many years of fighting with various platforms over them.

I had planned to announce that it was likely the In Space History of Power Rangers would be delayed as it is simply due to the busy schedules of others needed to work on the “Under Pressure” section, but, well, here we are. Hopefully we can see HOPR restored to something better than it was once the dust completely settles.

Let’s Play Pokémon Omicron As stated in the last State of the Wall, the Pokémon Omicron streams are on hiatus due to finally reaching the Elite 4. Due to the various things I’ve had do to these last few months (not the least of which being concluding a storyline, Longbox, AND getting married) I’ve had little to no time to work on Omicron videos. As I’ve said before, I’d like to do a major stream for the Elite 4. If you look above, I’ve suggested fighting the Elite 4 as part of the 500th AT4W Episode Celebration Live Show and would like to hear some feedback on that.

Storyline Compilations In case you haven’t been following the youtube channel (which you probably should be at this point given what’s going on with VidMe – link HERE), the Game Show Reviewer (who does a lot of the special effects for the show) has put together compilation videos of the AT4W storyline! They feature JUST the storyline segments and occasionally a clip or two from a review for context (or because he felt a joke was funny enough to include). At this time, everything through the “His Blue Soul” arc has been released. The other compilation videos are done and uploaded, but I’m currently waiting for some ContentID claims on the Royalty-Free music to pass before I release the rest. Otherwise, you can enjoy the compilations currently available thanks to this hand-dandy playlist.

DVDs and T-Shirts Sale In honor of the holiday season, IT’S SALE TIME! All INDIVIDUAL volumes of Atop the Fourth Wall DVDs have been reduced to ten dollars (until December 26th), including the most recent – Volume 3: Character Reboot. In addition, Shark Robot is still running their Black Friday sale through December 6th – just use the promo code “BLACKFRIDAY17” on the two Atop the Fourth Wall t-shirts – “I am a Man” and “Because Poor Literacy is KEWL!” You can find those shirts HERE!

I’m working on getting some other sales ready for both the Screenwave store and the T-shirts, so feel free to keep checking back here for any updates on additional sales!

Event Comics Month II The first Event Comics Month was such a big success we’re doing it again next year! As before, it’s a vote by patrons at any level picking two DC and two Marvel event comics! You can check it out HERE, become a Patron, and make your vote known about what you’d like to see reviewed next year!

Patreon As a reminder, the Patreon-sponsored review tier for Patreon is still closed for the moment, with details you can read HERE. While I still don’t have a date yet as to when I plan to reopen them, I’ve been taking your feedback about it into consideration. A common train of thought is that any non-comic review should at least be in some way linked to comics, be it about superheroes or, at the very least, linked to something I actually regularly do/am in some way interested in (for instance, the occasional sentai reviews are fine given History of Power Rangers, or video games could be Star Trek or Pokémon or the like). I don’t think that’s too unfair a compromise given what people are thinking, but I wouldn’t mind getting more feedback about it during this time, so feel free to make your feelings about it known if you haven’t already!

If HOPRs had a corrupted version (there’s no good reason for one to be on sierpinski since they’re supposed to all be decommissioned) I think they’d fill the role of classic spitter enemy. They’ve got gross goopy heads and I think they’d essentially try to projectile spit evil juice that attracts other corrupted replikas to you

#ITS BASED OFF OF SOME GROSS GLAND STUFF I LEARNED ABOUT HOOPOE BIRDS #apparently the nesting females can produce gland fluids that smell like rotting meat etc to deter predators #wanted to do something with that #not sure how to incorporate their spears though…#kinda like the thought of them fusing with the head #something something hoprs clinging to their beloved items as a last comfort upon getting sick #only for it to further hurt them #maybe the spears would grow/fuse vertically and limit neck movement #they’d also look so silly. spike heads lmaoo #<- ohhhh actually that could also be a fun mock hoopoe crest #anyway corrupted hoprs I think would be really aggressive but would have a hard time chasing u #due to being goopy kabobs essentially #they just want u out of their space but they REALLY want you out #I could even see other corrupted replikas avoiding them just bc they’re that territorial #maybe only tolerating other corrupted hoprs?#idk but it’s fun to play with #hopr #signalis oc #blorbo tag

What your schedule for PO Unboxings like? Is it basically just once a month, when you feel like there are enough packages to go through, or whenever you feel like doing one? Or maybe a combination of the three? I'm more than happy to wait, since like HoPR, it isn't the main material you do on the site, I just like an official answer. And maybe you already have answered this before of Tumblr, but I'm just too lazy to comb through hundreds of posts just to find one answer.

...You don't even have to comb through hundreds of posts. I've explained this both IN the PO Unboxings and more importantly ON MY SITE'S UPDATE POSTS. There is NO schedule to PO Unboxing. We do it when there's enough stuff accumulated to do it.

Not upset or anything, it's just... well... you haven't noticed that the ONLY thing that has a guaranteed schedule by this point is AT4W? XD History of Power Rangers KIND OF does for new episodes, but that wasn't always the case and the reuploads to youtube are whenever I can find time to work on it.

Like, why would I have a set schedule that depended on other people sending me things? Especially when the videos have more frequently asked people to slow down because of the sheer tonnage of stuff sent (by the by, we finally spent some time recently putting away all the trade paperbacks sent to us. It's reduced the piles of stuff we have, although there are still tons of unsorted comics that need to be put away).

I've attempted to implement scheduling on other stuff before, but it just doesn't always work out that well. On Monday I have a scheduled bit of Pokémon Omicron streaming, but I've kind of been dreading it, since not only have the Exiles reviews ended up being a lot more work than I had anticipated (with ALL of Monday needing to be spent finishing the two videos), but I can't get Pokémon Omicron episodes edited and up fast enough. We're only NOW getting to the session I did last fall, which was the longest stream by far and who knows how long it'll take to get through that? The session I did a few months ago ended up being a bit crappy, both because of a delay caused by winter traffic and just my sheer exhaustion on the day causing me to almost fall asleep a few times during the recording, making it end earlier than others. But with that, I have fears for all the raw footage taking up a loooot of hard drive space that needs to be cleared out, so who knows how it'll affect things soon?

Longbox has even taken a hit for scheduling. Last year's Midsummer's Nightmare ended up having a lot of videos late, edited the day of just because I didn't have as much free time as I thought I would working on it. I freely admit, I'm actually contemplating skipping it this year because we're STILL not finished with this AT4W storyline, I've got a lot of stuff I need to work on in the next few months and daily videos are a pain in the ass.

Sorry, this became a rant about how damn busy I am. XD Anyway, point is: probably a PO Unboxing coming this week. There is no set schedule.
