9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?

i checked and i created the document for BTTS on the 3rd of April, and i finished putting in the last chapter in AO3 on the 16th of June. i think i wrote the start of the first chapter at the start of April and then the rest of it during May. i had 98% of it done at the start of June, i just edited it myself and then @bigalockwood read it and i edited it some more. and i spent a few days in HELL trying to code/skin the tweets and stuff. so. long story short: ten week-ish.

15. favorite weather for writing

it really depends on the vibe of the story!! for btts i liked it to be sunny because it's summer-y in the story, but for autumny vibes like sticky little words has to me i liked it to be rainy

18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic

ohh another one!! btts is the only fic i had deleted scenes for so another one from that lol. outtake from a text conversation between Wille and Simon that didn't fit anywhere

I feel like it would be such a big thing if I were spotted at a protest. And I don't wanna take away from where the attention should be, you know?

So saw a post about Shadowheart's racism towards Githyanki and hating her for that. Saying it's gross etc. I thought it was pretty mild? Considering what the Githyanki are and what they do, I was expecting a lot more racism when you play as one or towards Lae'zel. They aren't nice.

I had a long, long, long diatribe about this, but I wound up editing it to hell and back. I agree with you anon. I think it goes to show you how desperate the camp crew was when they put up with Lae'zel after the mountain pass crèche turns out to be a dud.

Anyways.

If people are singling out Shadowheart for being aggressive towards the literal imperialist slaver race of turbo space fascists and calling that racism, I don't know nor do I care to know about it. Not showing the githzerai has, I think, kinda rotted some BG3-only people's brains since they don't see that it's not about the gith as a species but it's about their imperial culture. It's especially annoying when there are much more direct parallels to racism in-game, structural and otherwise (Astarion with the Gur, Lae'zel with the tieflings, Rivington/Emerald Grove with the refugees).

I get the folks that feel the Shadowheart v. githyanki thing as racism, so I won't speak to their feelings. I will say that it's very definitely more a specific case of "girl stole shit from an empire known for murdering wantonly and is trying to avoid interacting with them at all costs" at the very beginning of the game.

Personally, I'm much more interested in talking about the fandom's general treatment of the slightly corrupted prince charming character (normally a fandom favorite in RPGs) as a second-class citizen. He's "useless" and "not that interesting" this time, for some reason?

Not sure why that could be happening.

oh i love this question. it’s with someone i’ve known and admire and we start by playing air hockey, the one arcade game that stokes the competitive fire in me to an incandescent point. then after i win we get bahn mis and watch a movie if the schedule works and anything good is on, then we discuss the movie on the walk over to my favorite local coffee shop. it’s air-conditioned and the drinks are cheap and there are free books to read on the shelf and so much comfortable seating. the toilet seat is heated. the baristas are nice and they’ll give extra pumps of simple syrup at no extra cost. free wifi water sugar creamer it is my paradise and we talk for hours and hours. and i dont pay for anything

“luca why can’t daddy give me a hug and then you can?”

his pout deepened

“because he got the last one!”

“tu tienes a mama para ti sola todo el tiempo, ahora es mi turno”

luca turned to stare at his father, his brows furrowing in anger as he crossed his little arms

“ya tienes suficiente mamá, ¡es mi turno papá!”

your voice was soft, sensing the toddlers impending meltdown if carlos kept poking at him, so when he looked at you his eyes a little teary you were quick to take him into your arms, pressing a kiss to his little cheeks

luca held onto you tightly as he hid his face in your neck, carlos sporting the matching frown as he stared at you

you couldn’t help but burst out laughing as you squeezed luca’s shoulder, your husband joining in and laughing as well. if there was one thing you both knew is that carlos was clingy with you, but luca was possessive.

you wouldn’t change it any other way, you felt so much love from your two boys and for that you were grateful…even if they fought for your attention 24/7.

Specifically, he's just too weird to NOT be an imposter and Shaun complains he never actually does any tasks

Alex IS an imposter -- an alien one specifically -- but other than killing the original human Alex, he hasn't had any interest in hurting anyone else. Any killings that have happened have been at the hands of others, like Lucy

Poor Don.. HIS S/O IS MAKING THIS MAN SUFFER FROM THEIR STUBBORNNESS! They're literally killing this poor man in the inside…

So many times already Don’s S/O would secretly buy tickets and go watch him in person without him knowing till he gets home. The more his S/O snuck out the more he noticed them appearing in the crowd… 

Don’s S/O pushes through to go support him cause, obviously, they want to support him, even at the risk of their own health but to them it’s worth it. No matter how many times Don gets annoyed, his S/O just smiles through their pain.

Scowls his S/O after his matches in a mixture of Spanish and English, respectively of course. He deeply cares about their health but also hates the fact they don’t prioritize it enough as they should. Don still appreciates his S/O for coming out to watch his matches, but he’d feel happier and less anxious if they didn’t and just stayed at home resting watching him on TV.

After getting home from matches Don’s S/O is all hacking and shivering. He feels so bad that he can’t just take away their pain or cure their inadequate immune system. 

They both get into arguments about this a lot. Don never EVER wants to control what his S/O can and can not do, obviously, he’s a man who respects people's rights to do what they like. He’s just so so protective and goes into full mama hen mode - gets extremely emotional over them - often coddling his S/O to an overwhelming amount when he doesn’t mean to. He can’t help himself as he wants to try to fix things, but can’t. He feels powerless about the forever impending doom if one day they’ll go out again to watch him box.. Will be their last day, but that’s just his anxiety talking.

Don knows his S/O’s heart is in the right place, he’s well aware they’re not doing it to push his buttons on purpose - he just can't deal with the emotions he feels when he knows his S/O pushes themselves over their limit.

Don’s heart is also in the right place, but he can be overwhelmingly catering in nature. 

After arguments, Don’s not so willing to speak, afraid of making the situation worsen. Shows his affection to his S/O, even while angry, bringing whatever they may need whilst being silent.

Don takes time off from training to comfort his S/O during doctor visits. Will get the best doctor available for his love no matter the cost.

Grabs whatever medicine his S/O may need. Needs to be provided a list cause goddamn English medical terms are overly complex for the Spaniard. 

Whenever it's cold out, Don makes sure his S/O wears a jacket, even if they say they don't need it Don is very persistent in trying to lessen the risk of his S/O getting sick. Makes sure to get a warm drink for them when they're out and heatable mittens.

When it's hot, Don's made it a habit to bring any cooling pad and anything else cold for his S/O.

As much effort he puts in caring for his S/O they end up getting sick most of the time anyway. Don often blames himself but his S/O reminds him that they just get sick easily. No matter how much Don spends he'd keep doing it for the rest of his life cause he loves his S/O that much.

I’ve thought about SpellBomb kids but honestly I have a hard time imagining they have any (mostly bc i dont see Dotty as a motherly type)

I might design some for fun for an au sort of thing but canonically Dotty and Gale don’t have any kids if their own and are instead the best auntie and uncle to Dottys three nephews Gabriel, Orka, and Calean

Gabriel attends Blackstaff so Gale absolutely get to be the most embarrassing “relative thats also your teacher” archetype LOL

And Dotty and Calean are extremely close, shes the only one he really opens up or talks to. I have a lot of feeling about them ;-;
