This might be old news but PSA for anyone out there with nerve pain!

Aleve seems to work best for nerve pain, as opposed to ibuprofen or Tylenol

This is anecdotal evidence and I don’t have any scientific sources so take it with a grain of salt, but I saw it mentioned most often on Reddit in relation to people’s MS pain so I decided to try it myself

I almost cried in relief. After an hour my pain was reduced to a completely manageable level, and this lasted for about six more hours. Ibuprofen has only ever been able to MAYBE take the edge off and in a larger dose than is recommended on the bottle. I took one generic Aleve.

Again, this is purely anecdotal, but it may be worth a shot for any of yall out there struggling to find relief.

lowkey wanna drop this post about ibuprofen vs naproxen (im a med student and i have a masters degree in pharmacology so those are my credentials xD).

(cw pharm mumbo-jumbo) buck's allergic to naproxen, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ibuprofen is also an NSAID. these both are different in their mechanism of action, because ibuprofen is non-selective in blocking COX-1 and COX-2, and naproxen is selective for COX-1 only. this leads to some overlap, but not a lot in terms of allergic reactions. (there's like. a helluva lot of biochem involved in this so im not gonna go into it but basically, they're not the same drug)

now, some people will have you avoid NSAIDs altogether if you're allergic to one, particularly if you have a super adverse reaction to one. so if buck were to have severe reactions to naproxen like anaphylaxis, he probably should not be having ibuprofen just for the risk of another adverse reactions (and get an epi-pen dude).

however, we don't know what his allergic reaction is. if he has a milder reaction, like...maybe hives, GI upset, or something, he still might be able to take ibuprofen with no problem at all. and honestly, if he has ibuprofen in his own apartment, he probably can take it with no problem xD so...im so sorry, but it's not quite the plot hole or catch-all that you might think it is xD

Not that anyone asked, but I want to share this message (and my reply) since it kind of explains my last post a bit more.

Like I said in my reply to that message, I'm going to work on paying off what I owe Xfinity and get the internet back. The good thing about it being Xfinity is that I qualify for their Internet Essentials so the bill is only 9.95 a month. I owed 70 and have a bit over half of that so far so I'll get that back sooner than later. (Using my phone's hot spot isn't a permanent solution, lol.)

That said - I don't think I'll be back to creating for TS2 any time soon. I really, really want to - it's just too hard. I literally have to be within a few inches of ANY screen to be able to see even if the ability to zoom in is there. I get massive headaches in any case, especially with a white background.

If it's something super simple, maybe - but I can't see me doing anything from scratch right now. So, instead of goodbye, until I can get my cataracts taken care of, consider this a haitus.

the thing is that I am on principle opposed to the idea that menstruation is inherently physically/emotionally dehabilitating because the gap between "periods make you weak and emotional" and nineteenth century "a female body is weaker than a male one specifically because of the presence of a uterus" -type rhetoric is too small for me to be comfortable with, but it's still very much a taxing biological process. I'm lucky that I didn't inherit the kind of periods my mother had at my age, which were at baseline painful enough to make her vomit and for all intents and purposes made her temporarily ill on a regular bass. periods do not make you weak but they can be weakening for many and that is something that can be acknowledged and accommodated for with compassion instead of condescension

genuinely curious if anybody has done the math on how many pills house does daily because vicodin's a combination with acetaminophen with like 500mg per pill... which even if he's taking like ~8 daily that's still ~4000mg, how is this man not jaundiced?
