~!BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!~

I have big news and a big project on the horizon!! Anyone who knows about my Thundercats Au, Mirror, knows I've made a couple of mini comics to help tell my story. While I am in no way prepared to take on the task of creating an entire comic, I am in the process of telling it through a different medium!

From here on out I will be working on a light novel adaptation of the story! To anyone who doesn't know, a light novel is popular form of literature in Japan that often include illustrations/comics in between the texts for visual aid. I will be uploading this story onto Ao3, as I believe that is the best site for the written portion, and I have found a way to embed images into the text. They will all be external links that can be easily accesed by any device, but the mini comics will also be uploaded onto tumblr and Bluesky. Now this story is still in its draft form, nowhere near to even publishing chapter 1, but I still gladly encourage any and all fan input into the story, just please don't try and rush me on this project as it is the largest project I've ever worked on solo. It'll be posted to Ao3, under the username NightlyHarrier, I'll make another post once chapter 1 is out. Again, I want to thank the small community of Thundercats fans on here, I never thought that my silly little Au would be turned into something so much more, and you've all inspired me to do so!

Mumble & Mock

Summary: You [A human] love to mumble and mock people [usually the gang] under your breath, not realizing that they have incredible hearing [I got an inbox that offhandly mentioned Lion-o have incredible hearing & it gave me this idea. Forgot they were cats & cats have great hearing]

The topic of hearing abilities had never came up, so there was never any talk of who could hear what and such. There was just a misconception that you all heard at the same frequency. You were, surprisingly, never aware that they could hear much farther and quieter things than you.

"I don't know what that means... Like what?" You shrug.

Panthro looked up at you, dumbfounded, "You're still talking about that? It happened weeks ago."

"So?" You roll your eyes, turning away from him before mumbling about how didn't understand.

"You know I can hear you right?"

"Whatever. I'm going to go bother Lion-o."

At the mention of your voice saying his name, Lion-o's ears perked up and looked around for you, but he didn't see you. He was sure he had heard you, but were where you? He heard something walking towards him and he was sure it was you.

He quickly stood up, instinctively putting his sword behind him before you showed up behind some trees. You froze when seeing him stare at you. You then looked to the side, just to make sure he was looking at you and not someone else.

"hI," He awkwardly waves and you give him a confused look.

"Were you waiting for me? Am I predictable?"

"I heard you-"

"You heard me? How?"

Now it was his turn to give you a confused look, "What?" He chuckles, "What do you mean how?"

"What did you hear?"

"I heard you talking to Panthro. You said you were going to come bother me-"

"How did you hear that?" You cocked your head to the side, still confused.

"I don't know? I just did."

"Hmm... Okay, so what are you doing?"

Ever since the incident, you slowly became more conscious about how well they all could hear, even Kit & Kat. It had never really occurred to you before. Speaking of the twins, they hung over your shoulder, looking at what you were doing. You were used to them hanging over your shoulder, because they had this strange obsession and adoration for you.

"Whatcha doing, Y/n?"

"Yeah, what are you doing Y/n?"

They repeated their questions multiple times, until you finally answered.

"I'm not doing anything."

"That's boring." Wilykat sighs, before messing with your hair.

"Yeah, that's boring," Wilykit is quick to agree, tightening her grip on your hair as she braids the side she was on.

"You could always leave-"

"No, that would be more boring."

"Yeah. Oh, Y/n, let's go do something!" Wilykit begs, but you just shake your head.

"No way, I'm content sitting here. Why don't you both do something and leave me alone?"

"But we want to do something with you."

"Wow, that sucks... For you," You chuckle at your remark, before laying down on the grass and closing your eyes.

They were going to respond when they stopped, their ears perking up at a high pitch ringing sound. They looked at each other, before looking down at you.

"Did you hear that, Y/n?" Wilykat asks, which causes you to groan thinking they were messing with you.

"Oh, please, I'm not falling for that."

Suddenly, the ringing echos again, yet you still didn't hear it.

"Do you really not hear it, Y/n? It's a loud ringing sound."

"Uhuh... Sure."

You hear massive footsteps, which causes you to slightly open your eyes and see Panthro. You quickly sit up and stretch.

"What are you troublemakers doing?"

The twins click their tongues, before Wilykit speaks, "Nothing, because Y/n's being boring."

"Well, as long as you aren't causing trouble."

"Hey, Panthro, did you hear that loud ringing?"

He looks confused for a split second, before his eyes widen in realization, "Oh, Cheetara found a whistle that Addicus dropped."

"Y/n thought we were crazy when we said there was a loud ringing sound." Wilykit was quick to throw you under the bus.

"Y/n can't hear as well as us," Panthro tells the twins, causing you to whip around to him.

"I heard that."

"Yeah, well, it's not like I was being quiet about it," He quickly throws back, causing you to roll your eyes and shake your head.

Lion-O: Look, I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but-

Tygra: That’s because you’re too short to do so.

Lion-O [stares at him for a moment before grabbing his shoulder, pulling him down closer to his face]: Listen here, you *beep*!

I recently rewatched thundercats 2011 and once more; y'all are here for the ride

First off I loooove all the characters (lion-o is my favorite!) I loved how they dealt with the conflict between the cats and other animals, the characters are memorable and unique, and the plot solid

But that's enough of being normal, let's get into the real stuff. This is going to be all over the place so bare with me

Tygra made me soooo mad in the first half of the season cuz bro u wanna be king so bad? Have at it. The others too, why we're they so mean to lion-o? Yeah he can be a little bit of a hothead but they we're so unnecessary nasty. Like I swear ever other episode was like.

Thundercats: Lion-o stop replyong on the sword, follow your gut!

Lion-o: *follows his gut*Team thundercats: *shock*

Team thundercats: stop acting on your own, follow the book/sword

Lion-o: *listens to the book/sword*

Team thundercats: *shookithness*

I'm so surprised that this didn't become more of a plotpoint aside from the trials of lion-o episodes, cuz I would've just said fuck it and dipped and let them handle it

Why didn't they keep up lion-o's love for tech? Tbh I feel like they kinda forget to characterize lion-o in the last half of season 1 cuz tygra got his development and became less assholey (which I love btw) as the show went on but lion-o lost a lot of his more positive characteristics that weren't "super heroic". Like his curiosity and his love of tech, all fell to the waist side after tygra and cheetara got together. Like if first half lion-o saw that little robot fly cricket thing he would've went nuts.

Poor tygra btw! The emotional whiplash of finding your family, wanting to bond with your family, your dad pushing you away, thinking your dad hates you, realizing your dad sent you away cuz of spirits, seeing your dad turn into ones of those spirits, saving your dad, having your dad back for .3 seconds, losing him FOR REAL, then realizing you never had him would've destroyed me

I was so sad them it was revealed that pumyra was evil(and undead AND banging a dead dude, an OLD dead dude at that) 😭 Like I was so happy that lion-o finally had someone and then the show said sike! And yeeted my hopes into oblivion

And then the show gets cancelled!! And all hope of learning what happens next along with it.

I looked up the plot for season two and yeah, Safari Joe is definitely a bad guy™ name, can't get anymore evil then that😂

And as for lion-o having a friend! Am I offer Lupus, a wolf that was supposed to be in season two, also maybe not lupus, let's just say on the nose and name him lupin lol
