i would love to hear any and all doctor who related thoughts you'd like to share (tenmartha related or otherwise!)
i'm currently very slowly rewatching s3 for the first time in over ten years so i'm not in a position to give a thorough breakdown but i can speak to my general feelings about her (until very recently) unique experience of a being black woman accompanying the doctor and therefore having to endure being thrown to multiple sets of wolves, the fans and the writers.
cut for essay (sorry)
aside from her just being a gorgeous and amazing character, i think was drawn to her for the same reason i think people were so viciously critical of her - her blackness means she's an anomaly. there was mickey, but he was more of a secondary character and he's also a man and doesn't have to content with the intersection of race and misogyny.... you know all of this already.
all companions deal with the fact that travelling with the doctor is fun and worth it, but it often comes at a terrible cost. it's dangerous, sometimes it's fucked up, but ultimately they still choose to do it.
what a luxury it is for most companions to be able to opt-in to venture to a planet where the systems and people you encounter on a daily basis may be hostile to you for something you can't control. that's the life martha is choosing when she decides to accompany the doctor, but it's also the life she's choosing when she decides to leave him.
for me it increases the stakes every time her life is in danger. the circumstances she finds herself in with the doctor are inhospitable to her but the genre she's in is also inhospitable to her. she deserves better from the doctor but she also deserves better from the story she inhabits and what kills me is she's aware of that! she knows she doesn't belong! her "i'm good" reminds me so much of this moment from my favourite movie, the matrix:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
no! no one was expecting or knew what to do with a black woman in a major role in speculative fiction!
it's not clear to me that the doctor knows just how good martha is and that's a symptom of the writers not knowing either. tbf to the production itself, she's got lots of great moments, but the odds are utterly stacked against her and the fumbles (human nature/family of blood i'm looking at you) are painful to watch.
i get that the doctor needing his companions is a founding character trait of his and it was fun to watch martha save his ass but at a certain point it felt gratuitous to me. he spends the whole season fucking up terribly without acknowledging how much hell she goes through on his behalf and i think i'm still meant to feel worse for the him re: rose. and also i'm supposed to buy that that's the main reason martha is upset whenever she's upset, which i find kind of... laughable lol. unrequited love sucks but does it suck worse than all of [gestures] that? idk, maybe i'm just not 14 anymore but i find it pretty hard to believe that my crush not liking me back is worse than being trapped in early 1900s england, to say nothing of... what is it, vampires in that one?
sorry i didn't have more positive stuff to say.... there is at least 42 where the doctor screams that he needs her. yeah you do, we all do!!! that is ultimately how i feel about her.

The mysterious Death of Charles Xavier Part 2
N/A: A bit more set up for this story.
@dannybagpipesarecalling @kurttyfamily  @tieflingteeth
The chippering birds are singing loudly on the bare branch of the tree near Maximoff´s household. One girl wearing a purple cloak and spreading towards the woman at the entrance of the house- the woman is wearing scarlet and is holding a teacup hovering in the air- and hugs said the woman. “Miss Maximoff, guess what? I got accept into the school!’
Kitty is beaming as she’s holding the letter of acceptance. Wanda Maximoff hugs the girl, her hand is gloved with velvet red and once the hug is broken, the Scarlet Witch titled her head. “School?”
Kitty beams and explains in one go, without needing to breathe, what really happened, and then takes a moment to breathe. Wanda blinks at the explanation.
“I see, let’s drink tea and talk,” Wanda set the table-one can see the magic items and even feel the charm itself. Kitty is familiar with going to this place, however, Kitty never saw the Darkhold...too advanced and too dangerous.
“So, from what you told me, you want to go to Hellfire School to solve the mystery of Charles Xavier´s death, ok, may I ask why?” Wanda asked curiously as the young pupil is tying up her hair in a ponytail at the last minute.
“Well, I...” she is cut off as a strong wind flips her hair, she looks around to see a new person in the room. “Oh, hello Mr. Maximoff,” Kitty greets him. Pietro rolls his eyes-it´s possible to see the corner of his mouth twisting in a smile- and speaks to the girl.
“I told you to stop calling me that, Mr. Maximoff makes me feel old...and I already have white hair,” he mentions his hair as proof of his words.
Kitty nods sagely. “Ok, Mr. P”
Wanda chuckles at that. Pietro sighs.
“Well, it’s better...and you what you two are talking about? magic stuff?” Pietro asked interested and resembling a curious puppy. Wanda shakes her head.
“Actually no, we´re talking about Kitty going to Hellfire School,” Wanda explained cautiously. “The school where Prof X was murder,” she raises her eyebrows and gesture to Kitty Pryde.
Pietro takes the hint. “So, let me get this straight, you wanna solve another mystery?” Pietro asked, and Kitty nods mutely. “Of course, here we go again, ok...did you know Prof X´ house was a school before the Hellfire took over?”
Kitty denies and now is giving undying attention to Pietro.
“Yeah, the Hellfire used to be a school for all mutants, well, he had a group of mutants called X-Men...Scott was the leader,” Pietro snickers and Wanda gives him a pointy look at him.
“After the death of Prof X, yes Kitty he was called like that, the X-Men disbanded, and re-grouped in other places,” Wanda pipes in calmly.
Pietro grimace now. “Our sperm donor was friends with Prof X,” he looks a bit revolted, “or maybe more than friends when the bald man died...our sperm donor cried like we never saw before, nor we´ll,” Pietro added somberly.
Wanda nods. “Yes, Magneto was so distraught by Prof X´ death...he even tried to take the school to honor his “friend” death," Wanda takes a sip of his cup of tea. “Then, by the intervention of law, Madelyne Pryor got the acquaintance of the school,”
Wanda can see the gears on Kitty´s mind working.
“But, what about Jean Grey? Should she be the one to be the heir? I mean, Prof X had a son ....who rejected him, the school in several ways, even legal ways,” Kitty remembers that story and has the clips saved on her pen drive.
Pietro interjected. “Well, yes. But Jean and Maddy are twins,” Pietro seems to want to make a joke and Wanda shakes her head. “Anyway, Maddy was made the heir for reasons we do not know...and then she and Emma created the Hellfire school, a place for mutants who are real genius!”
kitty blinks remembering this story. This time Wanda scoffs.
“Emma is a bitch,” Wanda replied and Kitty is shocked by the choice of words. “Sorry Kitty, but, she is....we have a bad history. Anyway, it was her idea to make this school so...exclusive,” Wanda is clearly not pleased.
Pietro nods in agreement. “She’s also one of the few telepaths who are powerful enough to hold the title Prof X left open,”
“And to make our sperm donor back off, say what you will about Emma, but she’s truly strong to make Magneto think twice before anything, few have this...privilege,” Wanda replied cooly.
Kitty nods. “And how the body was found? I mean, Prof X is/was a powerful telepath... I find it hard to believe he was murder in the traditional way,”
Pietro and Wanda sent a look to each other.
“Kitten, look, is already too late to say how dangerous and morbid this all is, again, not your first mysterious death nor will be your last...but, Prof X had many secrets, made many enemies...his death is not truly investigated,” the twins talked together.
Kitty holds her tongue to not say how funny that was.
“I know...but like you two said, together! I had to do this once again,” Kitty states conventionally.
Wanda sighs and then speaks. “You know, Reeds tried to solve it...”
Pietro shakes his head. “He’s that smart and I bet he knows what happened but refuses to share it,”
No one argues against that.
Kitty holds her letter. “Well, guess I have to be smarter than him,” she jokes. “and yes, I´ll solve the case,”
“Just be careful, Kitty, those students are scary smart, one of them, moon girl is so smart she...created a dino,” Pietro exclaimed perplexed.
Wanda chuckles. “You have a twin you is a witch. This surprised you?!”
“Wanda, have you made a T-Rex? No, I don´t think so,”
Kitty watches them bicker for some time.

Cameron is a rational man, at least, he truly hopes he is. When his daughter develops magic and mutation well, the man was freaking out, but, thanks to Terry, his dear wife, the man got a grip and did the right thing.
This, however, is a matter they both need to discuss quickly as possible. “Terry, listen, I have a friend in New Orleans, he has a house for rent, we can go there...Kitty can study in that School of magic in New Orleans, We can live there,” Cameron suggested.
Terry’s lips are now a thin line. “Look, we´re jumping horses here, your job...how that would work?”
Cameron raises his hand. “We have a filial in New Orleans, I can be transferred there,”
Terry is biting her lips now. “Yes, but the legal process would take a while, plus, we never enter contact with that school, Wanda told us, remember? That New Orleans magic school has time to accept new students...and I think we´re far behind,” Terry responds worriedly.
“True, but I was thinking...maybe Scarlet Witch could...you know, open some door for Kitty,” noticing his wife’s gaze, Cameron amends. “Look, I´m not happy with any of this, but, do you want our daughter to be the sole magic user here?”
Terry blinks.
“I´m a muggle, ok, but even I know Kitty must be lonely here. She’s the only witch in this area, is involved in dark mysterious and well, is the only witch too young to join a coven,” Cameron replied.
“Oh...but she has so many friends, does she needs witch friends?”
“I don´t know, again, I´m a muggle, but, wouldn´t hurt...Kitty can be more close with her magic side, it feels as if we´re trying to force her to choose one side,” Cameron states.
“All paths lead to Hellfire School then, and I hate it, I don´t want them to bully her...look, our daughter may not be magic, but, those kids...” she trails off.
Cameron nods slowly. “I´m afraid too, but let’s be real, what option do we have here, we once tried to lock her in her room to stop her from tangle her in dark mystery, and...we found out her former principal is Satan,”
“Mephisto” Terry corrected.
“Yeah, so...let’s try a new approach, maybe this is just the typical ‘’rich dude is killed for money’’ and will be bored, hey, sometimes rich people kill each other for money, not for Satan,”
The door slams and the two adults jolt.
Kitty enters the house. Still holding the letter. “Mom, dad...”
Terry just hugs her daughter, “tell me, do you want to go to this school?”
Kitty nods.
“Promise to call us?”
Kitty nods.
“Then...fine...guess we have no choice, but, look is temporary, you heard me, temporary!”

A/N: Sorry that this is a little (okay, a lot!!) late, but between work and starting my summer classes, I got busy.
Also, I would like to thank @theteambrallie for helping me by giving me a base and letting me use it as inspiration!! Your writing is awesome and I would like to write with you more!!
Aftermath
Sitting in the waiting room was torture for Ty Townsend. He couldn’t get the images of Kyle and Annie, all bloody, out of his head. The thought of losing either one of them had become his worst nightmare. He didn’t know what he’d do with if that nightmare became a reality.
Ty had a million thoughts running through his head. He couldn’t help but blame himself for everything that happened tonight. He wouldn’t blame his parents or Annie’s parents if they blamed him too. It’s what he deserved. This was indeed his fault no one could convince him otherwise.
Ty looked around the waiting room and noticed that everyone that had arrived at the hospital waiting to hear news about two of the most important people in life had gone elsewhere.
The “what if he lost either one of them” thoughts started to consume the eldest Townsend kid. He was trying to be strong for his parents, Kyle, but most importantly, Annie. But he just couldn’t do it anymore.
He began to cry because there was nothing he could do. For the first time in Ty’s life, he was at a loss. He couldn’t fix this. Nothing he did or say would stop this nightmare.
“Oh, Ty, they’re going to be fine.” Maddie, Ty’s mom, consoled him.
Ty’s tears began to stream down his face. “It’s all my fault, Mom. It’s all my fault.”
Maddie hugged her son. “No, it’s not, sweetie.”
“I should’ve stopped them from getting in the car. I should’ve stopped Annie from following Kyle.” Ty separated himself from his mom’s grasp and stood up. “If me and Annie hadn’t of fought, we would’ve still been talking, and we both could’ve stopped Kyle from taking off.”
“Should of, would of, could of. In the end, there are several things that could have made what happened different.” Maddie stated as she stood up to follow Ty.  “Why were you and Annie fighting?”
Ty took a deep breath in order to try and stop his tears. “You remember the night of the fundraiser and the spa opening, the one that Annie drank at?”
“Yeah.” Maddie responded.
“Well, when I took her home and helped her out with texting her mom, she kissed me and sent me a voice message, telling me how much she liked it,” Ty paused to let that information sink in. “Last week, I was asking Gabe for help with how to deal with everything and Jackson took my phone and shared the voice message to the whole team. Someone let Annie know, I think it was Simon, and we had a huge argument where she told me that the kiss meant nothing.”
Maddie gave her son a smile smile, sensing there was more, “And how did you feel after she said that?”
“I was upset,” Ty whispered. “I felt as if she took every possibility of us happening and threw it out the door.”
“Is that why you went to prom with CeCe? To get Annie out of your mind?” Maddie asked.
Ty nodded his head. “And she was there! I could’t keep my eyes off of her, she was so beautiful.”
There was a moment of silence between mother and son. Maddie was waiting for Ty to realize something big, while Ty was wondering why he was upset after the argument.
Then it hit him.
“I like Annie.” Ty said bluntly. His mom didn’t respond when he looked at her.
“I like Annie” Ty grinned.
“It seems like it.” Maddie smiled at the thought of her son in love with her friend’s daughter.
The it hit him, he couldn’t spring this information on Annie. Not just yet, anyway.  He needed to be smart about his actions for once when it came to Annie. He needed to talk to her and only her this time. And if he had to go to someone for advice, he would make that decision when he came to that bridge.
“Mom, I want to thank you for helping me come to my senses.” Ty looked at the doors where the doctors haven’t come through yet with news. “I need to talk to Annie, but when I’m ready.”
Maddie hugged her son and looked at the doors as well, hoping that both Kyle and Annie were going to be okay.

what are your top 5 clips/scenes from s2 of skam italia? (i know it's hard to choose)
This was incredibly difficult, anon. How dare you? But l gave it a good go. This took longer to answer than I intended because I am me and thus I could not stop prattling on. Sorry? But here we are:
1. La Grotta / Martino e Niccolò
Tied first place because it is impossible to separate them. I refuse. I know I have already talked everyone to death about both of these clips but I just adore them. Every single thing about them. They are so important. La Grotta took my breath away. Both Rocco and Fede did such an incredible job at conveying the emotion of this moment. Because the thing is, Marti's issue was never entirely to do with Nico having a mental illness. Despite what happened in Milan, Marti still wanted to see Nico, to know that he was okay. Marti's struggle was predominantly with the idea that Maddalena (*side-eyes*) planted in his head that Nico's illness somehow voided their relationship and his feelings for Marti. Nico's illness never made Marti love him any less. In fact, Marti was afraid of the opposite. That Nico's illness meant that Nico didn't love him. And all of that is just so apparent in this clip. Because as soon as Marti realises that Nico is truly in love with him, not even God himself can fucking stop him from getting to that terrace. The entire scene on the terrace is utterly heart-wrenching and breathtaking. One of the most beautiful things about that moment is that Marti does not stop smiling through it all. It is the most certain and understanding and reassuring smile. He looks at Nico with so much softness and conviction. Because he knows that Nico loves him now. And that's all that really matters. Yes, it's going to be tough. But it's worth every second. He breaks through Nico's shame. He literally kisses away his tears. He soothes Nico's deepest fears. And all Nico can do is watch in silent awe that this boy really exists in front of him. That Marti's not ashamed of him or abandoning him. Like, it's so beautiful? Everything about it is just so beautiful.
Martino e Niccolò is just as beautiful. I've talked about this before so I'm not going to write an essay, but Nico's fragile vulnerability hit me like a fucking train. I can feel every single moment of his conflict and shame in this scene. Of how utterly terrified he is of Marti witnessing a depressive episode. Terrified that he's going to drag Marti down with him and that Marti will inevitably end up hating him and leaving him. And Marti handles it with such care and reassurance. So much gentle certainty. I am truly in awe of that boy. He is such a grounding presence for Nico. It was so lovely to see Nico respond the way he did. Because despite how completely horrible he feels he manages to smile. And that's a wonderful thing.
(Also I love when Marti's on the phone to Maddi and she says, "It's not true that he only wants to be with you because of his illness" etc. Because Marti's face is so funny? His expression literally says, "Yeah, cheers, but I already fucking know that now. No thanks to you." In fact, he doesn't even dignify the comment with a response. I love you, Martino.)
2. Due Ore
I will never forget the night that clip dropped (or the previous night when we were all sat waiting for it and it didn't drop, what a fucking time). I love every single second of Due Ore. The atmosphere -- the feeling -- of that scene was just incredible. It was like an exhale. You could feel it. Could feel the relief, the finally, this is where we're supposed to be, after the tumultuous push-and-pull of the last couple of weeks. You could feel the inevitability of it when they were stood there staring at each other. Nico's nervous anticipatory smile as he waited for Marti to make the first move. Marti grinning back at him in earnest. They both knew that there needed to be an actual conversation at some point. But in that moment it just wasn't necessary. It could wait. Because everything was written on their faces. This is what I want. You are what I want. We talk about fate a lot with these two -- the red string of fate! -- and I never felt it more strongly than I did in this scene. You could almost see the damn string tying them together. It was inevitable and they both knew it.
3. Patatine e Marmellata
Getting to see them wake up together was such a blessing. The way Marti was sleeping on Nico's chest, gosh. They looked so peaceful and content. It was wonderful. And their conversation -- the conversation that they inevitably had to have -- about Maddalena was important. "I want to figure out how I feel for myself." It gave us an important insight into Nico's headspace and the way the people around him treat him and his illness. When Marti directly asks him how he feels, Nico's face just lights the fuck up. It hurts my heart a little. When was the last time someone asked him that without trying to dictate the answer for him? His soft, whispered answer of "You know perfectly well. And it's never happened to me before." He knows how he feels and he can finally say it and not have it questioned. Marti's smile and his little breath of a laugh -- like he just can't contain how delighted he is that they feel the same way -- before his "Me neither". And then of course, Buon Viaggo. The way they literally cannot stop grinning at one another. Their soft kisses in between serenading each other. I mean, you could not make this up. And god, the way Marti stares up at Nico when he starts singing absolutely floors me every time. He is so in love with him he is completely incapable of keeping it off his face. Then he just straight up calls him the man of his dreams. And not forgetting the boys and their incredible dance and sing-a-long while cleaning the kitchen. How was this clip even real? What a fucking blessing.
4. Nel Mio Letto
Soft Boyfriends(tm). This is always my first go-to clip when I'm feeling particularly awful. Because there is just something so incredibly comforting about it. It's like a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea on a bitter cold winter's day. I think it's to do with the cosy softness of it all. The way they're intertwined. The sleepy cuddles and kisses. The coffee. The coffee heart. The song. It's like a wonderful bubble of contentment. Like Nico's bed is its own little safe haven. I love the whole atmosphere of it. It really does feel like they are the only two people in the world. Which ties in perfectly with their conversation about the last man on earth. (Still sad they didn't get their three days in bed though.)
5. Halloween
HALLOWEEN. Everything about this is iconic. The giraffes on the beer glasses? Marti dramatically ditching his mask in front of the Catholic church? The lighting in the pool? That shot of them underwater where they're surrounded by an endless expanse of water like they're in the ocean? Nico somehow managing to never stop fucking smiling at Marti even when trying to hold his breath underwater? I love that Skam Italia managed to make the pool scene their own. It was a world away from the OG scene (in the sense that it has a completely different feel to it) and I love that. I love that they're both essentially the same scene but evoke so many different emotions. There was this sort of giddy anticipatory feeling with Marti and Nico. Their kiss was like taking that first breath after being underwater for so long. The way they clung to each other? The way they were so in awe of each other? Like in Due Ore there was that overwhelming feeling of joy and relief. Finally.
Honorary mentions, because just five is too hard:
Tu Non Sei di Milano
It feels a little bizarre to call it a favourite clip. It would perhaps be more accurate to say that it is a clip that particularly resonated with me. I have only watched this clip in its entirety three times. The first time I was on a bus to London -- frankly I should have known better than to watch it in public -- and I almost had a panic attack while watching it. I sobbed in a public bathroom for a good twenty minutes, it was quite the day. Because I recognised so much of myself in Nico and his behaviour and I felt so much empathy for him. It hit me like a fucking train. It was the most difficult clip to watch, but it was also incredibly important. It took me a long time to rewatch it. The second and third times were difficult too. But also cathartic in a way. When you suffer from an illness like BPD, it can be incredibly isolating. You can feel like there is no one else in the world who can possibly understand what you're going through or what it feels like. Sometimes I think, "I'm ridiculous. No one else does this crazy shit. Why am I like this? Why can't I just snap the fuck out of it?" Watching that clip was validating in a lot of respects. It was difficult to watch but it also reminded me that I am not alone. That there are other people out there who experience the same struggles that I do. Who battle with episodes like this too. It was an incredibly tough watch, but it was so important.
Also, veering away from the more painful aspects of that clip: I absolutely love the way Nico seduced Marti in front of that damn neon light. Marti's soft and naive voice when he's attempting to read the "how fun". Nico's "no, no, it says Marti and Nico" and insisting Marti look again just so he can catch him by surprise in a kiss. Those achingly slow and soft kisses they exchange are probably my favourite kisses of theirs. That scene was just so intimate and beautifully done.
Vediamo
One of my favourite things about this season is the dynamic between Marti and his mother. It was so lovely to watch them heal and slowly but surely repair their relationship. Vediamo really captured the essence of that. Marti's misplaced anger towards his mother during the fallout of Milan. The brutal yelling. The way they both sit on opposite sides of the door. Marti's quiet and tearful "Are you sitting there?" His mum asking him if he thinks she would have a problem with it and then her sobbing "You are the most important thing in my life." The two of them just bloody sobbing on either side of the door. I am tearing up thinking about it. Good grief. I absolutely adore Mamma Rametta. And of course, "Vediamo" and her calling it Martinese for "No." Their tearful laughter. I love it so much. They have their ups and downs but they really do love each other unconditionally.
Effettivamente
This might just be one of my favourite coming out scenes that I have ever witnessed. Fede did such a wonderful job at conveying Marti's inner struggle. The way Marti has to fight to get the words out. The way he falters a little when he says "It's not a girl." It makes my own heart falter every single fucking time I watch it. You can see him wrestling with the words. And Gio, darling Gio. I love Giovanni Garau with a U (it's Sardinian), resident Love Wizard. He's such a wonderful friend and I just really adore the way he handles it. The way he stops playing FIFA to give Marti his full attention. That wonderful and supportive smile of his. How he asks questions about Niccolò and lets Marti get out some of the shit he's been holding onto. He really puts Marti at ease. You can see the relief seep into Marti's body when he realises that nothing is going to change between them because of this. Marti's huge smile when Gio says "He needs to leave his girlfriend" and then ruffles Marti's hair. I love supportive best friends.
And there you have it. Sorry, you asked for five and I gave you about nine. You probably didn't want a novel. But what can I say? I have a lot of love to share.

Love is hard  - Chapter five
Pairing: Madison Joseph x reader (friends), Josh Dun x reader (friends, lovers?), Tyler Joseph x reader (friends), Jenna Joseph x reader (friends), other Joseph and Dun family members
Plot: You take a leap year abroad, where you meet Madison Joseph. You become best friends and move in with her family. You meet her brother Tyler and his best friend Josh, who you have a crush on. Will Josh and you become more than friends?
This chapter: You spend the day at the zoo with the group.
Warnings: None
Word count: about 2100
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
A/n: I’m so sorry it took me this long to put out a new part. I’ve been on a much needed holiday, but I’m back! I hope you enjoy this part. Thank you all!
Tumblr media
You had spent the last couple of days at home, only leaving twice to go grocery shopping with Kelly. Thankfully, some days of rest had been good for your foot and ankle. Josh had texted you a few times asking how you were feeling and saying you should let him know when you were well enough for the day out to the zoo.
Y/n: I think my foot can handle a full fun zoo day! Name a day and time 
Josh: Great! Tomorrow, maybe? I’ll ask Ty, Jen and Ash, you ask Maddie, k?
Y/n: Maddie and I can go tomorrow.
Josh: The others too. Pick you up at 9am then?
Y/n: Sure, I’m looking forward to it! See you tomorrow
You stood in front of your closet, wondering what to wear. Clearly you wanted to look hot, but not like you tried to much. Since Maddie was already dressed, you knew she just wore jeans and a sweater and you didn’t want to overdress. Each time Josh had seen you, you looked like a mess. Finally, you settled on white ripped skinny jeans, a bright yellow off the shoulder sweater, a light brown scarf and comfy sneakers. You styled your hair, put on make-up and went downstairs for breakfast. “I don’t want to push you, but you should visit the campus soon, if you still want to enrol. The next schoolyear is starting sooner than you think” Chris said, talking to both Maddie and you. “We’ll go Monday. There’s no sense in going on the weekend since most people might not be there, so…” Maddie answered, looking at you for approval at the same time. “Sure, we’ll make a day out of it. Visit the campus, see the surroundings, dinner. O, he’s here!” You said when you heard a car pull up to the house, maybe sounding a little to exited. Maddie glanced at you, both of you grabbing your things.
“Good to see you again.” Josh greeted you, giving you a hug. “I know six people is a bit much for this car, but it’s only a short drive.” Jenna was behind the wheel, Tyler in the passenger’s seat. Ashley was already settled in the back while Maddie sat down to her left. You took the spot on Ashley’s right, awkwardly greeting her. “You’re gonna have to scoot over, I wanna come too!” Josh laughed, looking at you. With a red face you scooted over and Josh, smiling sheepishly, sat down next to you. “You look nice. I like your sweater.” Josh said to you while you muttered a thank you, sitting half on his lap. The rest of the ride you talked and listened to the others, trying to avoid looking at Josh since you were sure you’d do something stupid, like kiss him.
“Ok, are we just going to walk around or is there any animal in particular you want to visit first?” Tyler asked, looking around the group. “Let’s just walk around, we’ll see” Ashley answered, linking arms with you and walking off. You felt uncomfortable, especially since the only encounter with Ashley so far didn’t go well. “So, I’ve talked with Maddie and Jenna a little, and it seems like you’re a nice girl. And seeing you and Josh like to hang out, I feel it’s my duty to get to know you better.” Ashley stated, dragging you to the elephant house. “Tell me, what are your plans; short term and long term.” She asked, looking at you. “Well, uhm, well, short term; I was thinking of maybe applying to Ohio State. And uhm, after that, you know, work and stuff.” You stammered, already seeing Ashley’s face turn to disappointment. “Ok, so no real plans then. Any idea on what you want to study? Or are you just hoping to land some rich guy so you won’t have to figure out what to do with your life?!” Ashley said, glancing at Josh. You were hoping it was just a joke, but you really couldn’t tell. Before you could reply, Jenna came over. “I can’t stand the smell in here! Let’s keep moving, ok?” Grabbing both your and Ashley’s hand, she moved outside. Maddie linked arms with you on the other side, leaving the guys behind.
Looking over to them, you saw Josh and Tyler staring at you, quickly looking away when they saw you looking. They stayed behind for about ten minutes, still quietly talking when they came walking over. You had a feeling they might have talked about you, but at the same time you wouldn’t believe you were important enough to have a private talk about.
“Ooh! We must go to the reptile house now! You can meet and greet the snakes!” Maddie exclaimed. “Nice! Let’s go.” Josh and Tyler said, nearly running off with Maddie. “I’m sorry guys, but I have to pass. I’d rather have math homework every night for the rest of my life than go cosy up with snakes. I’ll go watch the meerkats and wait for you there.” You said, shivering with only the thought of snakes. You waved and walked over to the meerkat enclosure, sitting on a bench nearby. Only five minutes passed when someone sat next to you. “They are funny guys, aren’t they?” You looked up to the voice talking to you, seeing a handsome guy around your age, nodding in response to his question. “Are you here alone?” He asked. “No, I’m with friends. But since I didn’t feel the need to hug snakes, I’m waiting for them here.” You answered. “Yeah, I tagged along with my sister and niece. Not really interested in serpents either.” He laughed. “Are you from around here?” You explained how you met Maddie and moved to Ohio, having a nice conversation. He seemed nice, not your type, but it was good to pass the time waiting for the group just talking with someone. You soon heard and saw your friends approaching, saying goodbye to the friendly stranger to meet up with them again. “We leave you alone for fifteen minutes and you’re already chatting up hot guys! You maneater!” Maddie laughed. You obviously knew she was joking, knowing you barely went on dates, let alone chatted up guys. You laughed along with her, not missing the strange look on Josh’s’ face. He understood it was a joke, right? The last thing you wanted was for him to think you were a serial dater, or, even worse, that you were interested in that guy back there. You took a mental note to talk to Josh and subtly let him know you were still very available.
After walking around for nearly three hours, you were glad everyone agreed to take a break and have lunch in the zoo’s restaurant. You waited to pick a seat for everyone else to sit down, determined to sit next to Josh. You haven’t had the chance to speak with him and you thought you noticed him slightly avoiding you, though you weren’t sure. “Made a choice yet? I’m thinking either pizza or a burger.” You said to Josh after sitting next to him at the end of the table. “Not sure.” He simply stated, not looking at you. “O, ok. Take your time. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for taking me to the zoo. It’s really nice, I’m enjoying myself a lot.” You said, smiling at him. “I’ve noticed.” Well, this is going great, you thought to yourself. “Ok, well, excuse me, I have to use the bathroom.” You said, leaving your seat. Entering the bathroom, you sighed heavily, looking at yourself in the mirror. Just tell him you don’t like that guy and that you barely even date and Maddie was just kidding. You muttered to yourself, sighing again. “Hey, are you ok?” Jenna had entered the bathroom. You didn’t hear her and wasn’t sure when she came in, but you hoped she didn’t hear you talk to yourself. “Yeah, sure.” You smiled, acting like nothing happened. “We’re ready to order, so I thought I’d come get you.” She said, holding the door open for you.
You ate in silence, not knowing what to say to Josh, or how to say it. “Look who just walked in, y/n. Your new boyfriend.” Ashley said, pointing at the door. Maddie and she laughed and whistled at you. “Come on. We just chatted while waiting. I don’t even know his name. I’m really not interested in him, and I’m sure he isn’t in me either.” You responded, glancing over to Josh when you spoke. He barely responded. Looking up from the table, your heart sank when you spotted the guy waving at you and making his way over to your table. “Hey! Having fun? I just realized I don’t even know your name. I’m Brandon, by the way.” He said, extending his hand to you. “Nice to meet you again, Brandon. I’m y/n.” You shook his hand, not wanting to be rude to him. “Well, I better get back to my sis. So… maybe I’ll see you around the zoo later, y/n.” Brandon said, walking off. It took a couple of minutes before Maddie and Ashley stopped ooh-ing and whistling. Your tried to salvage the situation by repeating you were not interested in him and you were just trying to be friendly. “Everyone had enough? I’ll pay, let’s move on. We still have a lot to see and we promised Chris and Kelly to have a family dinner, so we can’t stay out too late.” Josh interrupted all of you, standing up before anyone could respond.
As you feared, Josh attempted to avoid you the rest of the day. And whenever you managed to get near him and talk, his answers were short and snappy. When you walked towards the zoo exit, you realized it might be your last chance to say something about Brandon to Josh. You stopped walking, waiting for Josh to catch up with you. He was walking next to Tyler, who luckily sped up to talk to Jenna. “I just wanted to say that Maddie and Ashley were just messing around. You know, talking about Brandon. I’m really not interested in him. And I’m not a maneater either. I think I’ve only had two dates in my life. I’m not sure if that was bothering you, but I just wanted to clear that up.” You quickly said, surprised by your own courage. “Ok.” Josh responded, smiling at you. You thought you could see relieve in his eyes. “I figured they were probably kidding. You seemed genuinely embarrassed by them. Anyway, don’t worry about me, I wasn’t bothered by it.” He looked straight at you, sweetly smiling. You tried to look away from his beautiful eyes, but just couldn’t. “So, wanna go crazy on the playground then?” You finally said when you passed a field with swings, slides and a wooden house. Josh smile got even bigger and he sprinted towards the slide, you following him soon. Even though he stated he wasn’t bothered about it, his mood appeared to have become ten times better since your little talk.
“Thank heavens, it’s the car!” Jenna dramatically said. You were all tired from a whole day of walking around and she definitely wasn’t the only one relieved to see the car. While Tyler, Jenna, Ashley and Madison quickly took their seats in the car, you helped Josh putting everybody’s bags and souvenirs in the trunk. You were chatting happily and just when you felt content you made things alright with Josh, you heard a voice. “Leaving without saying goodbye?” Brandon asked, laughing at his own joke. Josh grumpily closed the trunk and went to the backdoor of the car. “I know it might be a bit forward, but I really liked talking to you, y/n. I was wondering if you like to go on a date with me?” Brandon asked. You took a couple of seconds thinking about how to turn him down without being rude. Apparently, this moment was enough for Josh to jump to his own conclusions, huffing and opening the front door, asking Jenna if she minded sitting in the back of the car with the girls. He then quickly sat down and closed the door, not hearing you telling Brandon “I’m sorry. It was nice meeting you, but I can’t go out with you. I kinda already have a thing for someone else.”

A/N: Hi everybody!! Sorry that I’m finally posting, but I got caught up in work and I am writing the story where Annie was in the accident and Ty’s reaction to it all. I’m just having a hard time writing the reaction because I’ve never really experienced that kind of fear. Sooooo any advice would be great.
Also, I actually did some research for this fic for the baseball, which college would best, etc..  And to be clear, it hurt me to even type LSU as a Bama and any Texas college fan
This isn’t Goodbye
Annie Sullivan’s alarm went off early, signaling a new day. Sadly, today was not going to be a great one. Her boyfriend of one year, Ty Townsend, was leaving to go to college. He was going away to Louisiana State University, also known as LSU. Which meant that she would only see him via FaceTime and at holidays.
“Annie! It’s time to get up.” Annie heard her mom’s voice call out from the kitchen. Begrudgingly, Annie removed the comforter and got out of bed, heading into the bathroom to take a shower and brush her teeth. When she got back to her room, she went to the closet and picked out a simple dress.
Annie walked into the kitchen after getting dressed to see her mom finishing making breakfast.
“Good morning.” Dana Sue smiled at her daughter.
“Morning.” Annie responded as she sat down at the table. Dana Sue put down a plate full of food in front of her
Dana Sue took a deep breath, “Sweetie, I know today is going to be a rough one, but you need to power through, for your sake and Ty’s.”
Annie could feel her eyes starting to tear up. “I know, Mom, I know.”
Dana Sue leaned down and hugged her daughter.
Soon after breakfast was done and dishes were clean. Annie went to her room to make sure she had everything that she needed in her bag and that her camera had enough memory for all the pictures that she planned on taking today.
“Annie, are you ready to go?” Dana Sue called from the front door. Annie quickly left her room to follow her mom to the car.
The drive to the Townsend home was quiet except for the music playing from the radio. Neither of the Sullivan women wanted to talk about what was to come or make senseless chatter. Eventually, they arrived at their friends’ house.
They went inside and starting to greet everyone, which were his dad Bill Townsend, his coach Cal Maddox, Helen Decatur, Ty’s siblings, and his mom, Maddie. Ty came downstairs and went straight to Annie, giving her a kiss. After separating, Ty looked at Annie.
“Hey, are you okay?” Ty asked quietly, tucking her into his side, quickly kissing the side of her head.
Annie nodded her head, “Yeah, I am.” She gave him a quick smile, which he returned. Their moment was over sooner than expected as Ty’s mom, Maddie, started to speak up.
“Okay, everybody, the plan is to get everything that Ty is taking with him packed and into the car to drive to the airport.” Maddie announced once everyone was settled. “We need to be at the airport no later than two, so we need to be done by twelve-thirty at the latest.”
Annie looked down at her wristwatch and saw that the time was only ten in the morning. She would only have two and a half hours left with Ty before they start the long distance part of their relationship.
Soon, everyone had their assignments. Maddie, Dana Sue and Helen were to place things in the back of the car. Ty, Bill, and Cal were to take the suitcases and boxes down to the cars. Kyle was to help watch Katie in the living room. Annie was tasked with just making sure that the last few things were packed
Before leaving, Ty turned to Annie again, “My pictures and other few thing that I want packed are in a pile on the bed. I wanted to make it easy for whoever got that job.” Annie nodded in response and Ty kissed her forehead before heading out with Bill and Cal.
When she got to his room, Annie quickly began packing sheets and blankets in a suitcase with a few pictures so that they wouldn’t get broken. Annie noticed that a few of the pictures that he was taking were either of her or the two of them. She stopped when she saw a picture of the two of them from prom.
The picture was of them when they were taking prom pictures. Both Maddie and Dana Sue were taking pictures and this one was one that Annie didn't recognize.
Annie was looking right at the camera, most likely Maddie’s, smiling and Ty was looking at Annie with a deep admiration and happiness. Annie remembered how long it took to get her done that day and the dress was the prettiest thing she had owned. Once she saw Ty though, all worries of her outfit went out the door.
She was going to have to ask for a copy of this picture as it was quickly becoming one of her favorites.
“Whatcha looking at?” Annie heard Ty’s voice from the bedroom door. Ty came over and sat next to her on the mattress.
“One of the many prom pictures that our moms made us take,” Annie handed it to him. “I don’t remember this one.”
Ty looked at it for second, “Yeah, my mom found the next day when she was editing them. I asked her to print it for me.” He handed back for her, knowing that Annie probably had procedure for packing the pictures.
Annie held the picture again, “Can you ask your mom for another print because I want one too.” Annie placed the picture in the suitcase, wrapping the sheet around it as much as possible.
“Yeah, I can.” Ty said before zipping up the suitcase. “Annie, I know something is upsetting you.”
Annie’s body went still. She didn't want to confront her feelings of him leaving just yet.
“If this is about me leaving, I understand,” Ty paused. “It’s going to be rough on me too.”
“I know that,” Annie said. “It’s just going to weird without you around, you know?
Ty put his arm around her shoulder, “Yeah, I know. Heck, I’m moving away and won’t be around you or my family, but I’ve been worried about you.”
Annie leaned into his side. “I’ll be fine, so stop worrying.”
“Never,” Ty laughed. “You are the most important person to me, my family not included.”
Annie laughed, “Okay, okay.” Annie stood up. “Now, let’s get this downstairs, we have ten minutes until we’re supposed to be done.” Ty picked up the suitcase and followed Annie down the stairs.
Once the suitcase was placed in the back of his mom’s car, everyone came together again.
“Okay, Ty, time to say your goodbyes, remember you won’t really see them in person until Thanksgiving break.” Maddie said as she made sure that she had everything the car.
Ty made his way around the group, finally stopping at Annie.
“I’ll call you when I get off the plane.” Ty promised.
Annie smiled, her eyes starting to water. Ty quickly pulled her into a hug, bringing his hand up to cradle her head.
“This isn’t goodbye, Annie.” Ty whispered. The tears began streaming down her face.
Annie sniffled, “I know.”
Ty let her go and followed his mom and her boyfriend to the car while his dad went to his.
And as promised, as soon as the plane landed, Ty called her.
