25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Uh so. he was kind of a bit character at first right? but I loved it, I loved the idea that working with Michaels made empathy an occupational hazard for the Tys. The accent was atrocious at first it was hilarious

Now I am abnormal about him, as you know. I cannot stop thinking about him and the internal struggles he must be going through. I want to write books about him tbh

Not Tex b/c I think they could never just be best friends lmao they are far too complicated. Can I say something crazy? I think Troy would be great because he would not have the wherewithal to ever ask Outlaw a question he didn't wanna answer and would just accept whatever he said tbh. and Ty would get to feel a little smug all the time. Again, insane take and I am aware of this lmao.

xiangling: people sleep on how she gets the friendship of gods and immortals just by offering them her cooking. first guoba then xiao who’s next. is xianyun’s “coming down to the mortal world” 下凡 arc gonna be her mechanical cooking pots and xiangling having a cooking competition? place your bets now. I liked her spotlight in moonchase (her scenes w keqing, madame ping, and the food survey we did around liyue) that was incredibly cute <3 this is also really random but I like that she has a dad to whom we can talk in game, and who isn’t a shitty father

yanfei: how she fits into liyue's theme of adepti adjusting to a mortal world, and more broadly, the differences or similarities between the godly and the human. also the interesting parallels between her and ganyu. also her relationships! you can reasonably connect her to a lot of characters—the chasm gang, ganyu, ningguang, keqing, zhongli, eula, etc. and they’re all fun dynamics!! I think her relationships with her father and madame ping are neat, and the concept of signing a contract to live happily is an interesting one and it fits her storyline!! i like that she's a cool side character who presents an interesting continuation of liyue's themes <33333

xiangling: hard to remember but I thought her story quest was really random bc I accidentally triggered it and had no idea who she was. I also was peeved that I had to pass the abyss to get her bc my team was Not well built at that time lmao. now,,, i like her! she’s incredibly cool idk.i feel like she’s still written as just a passionate chef obsessed w food in game but i will give her character depth in my head because she’s sweet and deserves it

ok this one’s more specific bc i was looking for songs that had to do w/ asteroids and i found this on someone’s playlist—i think this captures the vibe of ur moniker perfectly honestly, and i’ve always found the phrase “overdue asteroid” so interesting to begin with. it’s so poetic & meaningful and there’s a lot of ways to interpret it—i won’t get into it here but i was thinking about it a lot after you sent this ask and i just think it’s so cool!! so this song is just something a lil different to capture that feeling.

this one’s for two reasons—one, bc i associate u with my rewrite series (your comments are always so nice!!) and second, because the lines “over the coast, everyone’s convinced / it’s a government drone, or an alien spaceship” also reminds me of the overdue asteroid vibe. the whole song does, honestly, because of the whole “end of the world” thing!! again, just a very cool phrase to associate yourself with. i’m a big fan.

honestly the only reason i clicked this one was bc overdrive sounds like overdue so! but also this is just a super fun song & i love conan with my entire heart so here u go.

Rigel beat you to the punch on asking abt Sev's name, but I can for sure talk abt stuff I scrapped.

I actually still have Sev's whole sheet from when they were a straight up bonafide Lasombra, rather than a Caitiff counterfeit. Originally, they were going to be exactly what they seem on the cover, like almost cliche levels of sombieness, and the deception inherent in their character was going to come from the fact that they were actually still loyal to the Sabbat and were attempting to infiltrate the Camarilla. That initial concept got veto'd mostly bc the STs for this game, understandably, want the smallest population of any one pillar clan to still be greater than the total kindred in the non-pillar clans, and those conditions weren't met, so Lasombra were off the menu. But, I'm actually glad for that because I honestly just Was Not Feeling It with that version of Sev, so the pressure to innovate and work within the constraints I had actually was to my benefit.

Sachi means so much to me because she is a reflection of me in a lot of ways. All of my OCs have parts of me in them, and I explore different parts of myself through them, but Sachi was the original and I’ve “known” her for four years now. (From Sadie to Sakura to Ser[enity] to Sachi).

27. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song?

No, because [rant about how I don’t really see music in a fandom context/in a fic context/in a character context] but I’m going to take this opportunity to explain how Some Nights (album) by fun. is connected to Sachi and Kazuki.

When Sachi and Kazuki were little (~8), Daiken once gave them the pocket change he had left over from groceries and told them they could buy anything. They decided to pool their money together for one good thing, and they found a pair of earbuds for super cheap. Now they can listen to music without anyone knowing! They only had one pair though, so they would sit side by side at their desk or on the floor and they would go back and forth picking songs. Because of this, their music tastes have a lot of similarities now, and one of their ways of bonding is quoting song lyrics back and forth at each other (which annoys their little brother Kaito a lot). They still share cool songs with each other.

Back when I came up with this bit of lore, I was really into the songs ‘Why Am I The One’ and ‘We Are Young’ from Some Nights. So their favorite album, collectively, is that album. Sachi’s favorite song is Carry On and Kazuki’s is Why Am I The One. I think their favorite song to sing together would be either Out on the Town or We Are Young.

Anyway this has irreversibly changed the way I view this album and my brain is ruined.

I’ve only read the first one so far and it was pretty long but didn’t feel that way? Also LOVE LOVE the characters they all feel real ykyk and all of them flawed argghhhh but I’m still rooting for them anyway and some of the themes going on in here (esp for kaladin yea he needs ALL the hugs) 😭😭😭 and ahhhhhh im need to see where they go in the next books. also WHEN THE PLOT TWISTS STARTED COMING !!!!!!!!!!! I was genuinely shocked about the king and hospital part 😩

back to the worldbuilding the sprens are so fascinating????? Hello????? what’s going on there??! how does science work? there’s some sort of physics going on here but how does it relate to the spren? AAAAAAAAAA
