heyo! what's your favourite Rui alt. cover?

I'm having a hard time picking one lolol I do love his cover of Nonsense Bungaku I always have it on whenever I play that song. Showtime Ruler is also banger!!! But I also love his cover of Oki ni Mesu mama especially when the full version came out. I know people dont like wxs' cover of Love ka? but it grew on me and I loved Rui in it so I was happy he got an alt so that's another one. If we're talking duets, I love his duets with Nene in Goodbye Sengen and Nijiiro Stories.

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.

you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.

you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.

don't fuck up. they're all testing you, always. they're tolerating you. whatever secret club happened, over a summer somewhere - during some activity you didn't get to attend - everyone else just... figured it out. like they got some kind of award or examination that allowed them to know how-to-be-normal. how to fit. and for the rest of your life, you've been playing catch-up. you've been trying to prove that - haha! you get it! that the joke they're telling, the people they are, the manual they got- yeah, you've totally read it.

if you can just divide yourself in two - the lovable one, and the one that is you - you can do this. you can walk the line. they can laugh and accept you. if you are always-balanced, never burdensome, a delight to have in class, champagne and glittering and never gawky or florescent or god-forbid cringe: you can get away with it.

you stare at your therapist, whom you can make jokes with, and who laughs at your jokes, because you are so fucking good at people-pleasing. you smile at her, and she asks you how you're doing, and you automatically say i'm good, thanks, how are you? while the answer swims somewhere in your little lizard brain:

how long have you been doing this now? mastering the art of your body and mind like you're piloting a puppet. has it worked? what do you mean that all you feel is... just exhausted. pick yourself up, the tightrope has no net. after all, you're cheating, somehow, but nobody seems to know you actually flunked the test. it's working!

Wonder Woman frowned. “What are you saying?”

Constantine growled. “I’m saying that if we don’t find this thing fast…. It could bring in a new age of darkness. And trust me, you don’t want to find out what that could mean.”

Wonder Woman turned to Zatanna. “How dangerous is this thing? And how did this happen?”

Zatanna shook her head, also looking worried and confused. “I’m not entirely sure. However, Constantine and I did some spells and we talked to some other psychics, who have all said the same thing. Someone out there in the world will soon gain their past life’s memories and magical power, and with it, they will have the knowledge and capabilities to bring death and chaos to this world. We need to stop them.”

Wonder Woman nodded. “Tell me what we need to do. We must stop this person before anything could happen!”

“Wait, but didn’t we already know that you’re the reincarnation of a past pharaoh?” Danny said, staring at him in bafflement through the screen. “This isn’t anything new.”

Tucker rolled his eyes. “I know! Like damn, couldn’t I have given these powers in high school?”

“Still wouldn’t get bitches though,” Sam said dryly, not even looking up from where she was trimming her plants.

“Hey!” Tucker complained.

Danny smirked. “Maybe you could say he’s a…. Late bloomer?”

He chortled as they both groaned. Sam picked up her flowers and placed them under her desk to protect them from Danny’s awful puns with a shake of her head. Tucker just gave a long sigh.

Tucker was sullen. “I mean… it’s cool and all, but I don’t need them, y’know? And for some reason, I have voices in my head telling me to start the apocalypse now.”

Sam and Danny stared at him with varying degrees of unimpressed and concern. “Well? Are you?” Sam asked, raising an eyebrow.

Tucker snorted. “Hell no. You know how much I get paid at Wayne Enterprises? I get paid buckets for only an hour a day to write up some software and then I can spend the rest of the time on games. There’s no way I’m going to waste my time on Armageddon when I can make money.”

Danny beamed. “That’s the spirit! Do you want me to come over to exorcise the voices in your head? They’re probably like… ghosts or something, right?”

“Nah, it’s alright. Jazz is going to come over to help. And if it’s insanity from drinking Gotham water, then she’s definitely more qualified than you guys.”

Danny nodded. “Makes sense.”

Sam chuckled to herself. “Who knew that the world could be saved with a billionaire’s money? Oh, wait, I did because—!”

Both boys groaned and settled in for another rant about the ethics of billionaires. Not that they disagreed, but still.

Jack and Maddie (mostly Maddie) finally publish all their scientific findings on ghosts after a couple of years of working with Danny and talking to Ghost Zone citizens. Lex Luthor immediately shit talks their findings. Being the mature and responsible people they are, Jack and Maddie build a giant robot to smash Lex's face in.

Part 2

Sam, Tucker, Danny, and Jazz all stood there in silence as they watched Lex Luthor battle against the Fentons, both sides in giant mechas.

The sound of metal creaking and destruction filled the air. The people around them had long since scattered, but were also situated farther away to watch the show.

Superman, from where he was floating in the air, was also watching the fight, looking a tad confused but also very entertained.

“… this is like that one anime,” Tucker said, staring at the metal robots punching each other dreamily. “With the mechas.”

“Neon Genesis Evangelion?” Sam said.

Danny replied, “Gundam.”

Jazz added, “Voltron, maybe?”

The other three hissed at her. “Don’t you dare mention that— that—! That horrible show!” Sam cried, shivering as she hugged herself.

Jazz sighed. “My bad. Pacific Rim, then? Or Transformers?”

“Sure, let’s go with that,” Danny said.

“Wow. Your parents are beating him up with the power of love,” Tucker said.

From a distance, Superman choked on his spit.

They didn’t notice and turned back to the fight, where the Fenton parents were pummeling Luthor’s machine suit, all while screaming insults at him through a microphone.

There was a lot of emphasis on him being lonely and loveless in said insults.

“This is the best day of my life,” Sam said, and everyone nodded.

It was a good day when a billionaire could get beaten up.

I assume this is in reference to the "what if Ezra was around for the rest of the rebellion stuff"? Here's some further thoughts on how he would fit in with the OT trio :]

Han and Ezra get on each others nerves, being around each other is a constant ego measuring contest. Han brings out Ezra’s cocky side and they like to sound off against each other, but it’s mostly all banter and neither of them are ever seriously ticked off by each other. In fact, they like to play sabacc and other card games together whenever it’s just them kicking around base.

Leia and Ezra are besties ofc, I like to think they would’ve been pen pals throughout most of Rebels, and now they’re back in person face to face they spend a lot of time together just chatting. I like to think as teenagers they often confided in each other about the difficulties they faced in their respective roles in the rebellion, and they continue to be emotional rocks for each other later on. They also have a pretty banter filled relationship but it’s less vulgar than it is with Han.

As for Luke and Ezra… we’ll you know me, I’m on that skybridger bullshit haha. No notes there.

As a quad they all get along pretty great. Ezra brings a little silliness to the vibe, as well as a fair bit of emotional wisdom.
