I prithee cannot help but wonder, visitors... surely you did not believe yours truly would--nay, could--keep mum about this most unexpected and stellar news?

...Although, perhaps not entirely "unexpected". For you see, it was never a question of "if," my dear visitors. Oh, no! It was ever and always a matter of "when"!

The game developers have dropped many not-so-subtle hints over the last six months that staff cards were very much an eventuality.

And so on and so forth.

A healthy dose of optimism over the years has helped weather the thousand some-odd days of uncertainty and longing.

Call it an inkling; mayhaps a hunch.

Whatever name one might use to best describe a force that compelled me to reserve sixty (60!) SSR perfumes were the unthinkable to happen--if this, my dream and answer to my prayers, were to become reality.

Seven days.

It's actually really nice to see how big the twst fandom got throughout the years. In the beginning, most of everything I saw was in Japanese (understandably) and I got to the end of the tag pretty easily and now it goes on and on. :)

Some characters wouldn't have more than 10 posts and I'd come back to see one extra and that'd be a good day lol. Now I hardly have the time to go through the tags and when I do there are always new people.

okay I'm going to do brief little thoughts for everyone. my knowledge on among us is limited to the memes from 2020 but I can probably take it from there

➼Ace is so mad every time he doesn't get imposter. and when he does, everyone knows it's him because he gets really cocky about it. keeps trying to get Deuce voted out first by calling him a sussy baka in chat. Riddle asks whoever the imposter is to kill him

➼Deuce is using this experience as a way to refine his critical thinking skills by playing lead detective. gets way too into it. Ace tells him it "isn't that deep" and he gets so mad he quits to yell at him

➼Riddle is killed first and rage quits

➼Cater suggested the game in the first place. always knows who the imposters are first but doesn't share because he wants to draw out the game

➼Trey is AFK. trying to calm down Riddle. he prefers Papa's Pizzeria

➼Leona gets really into it for a solid 10 minutes, is voted out, and then quits

➼Ruggie spends the entire game loudly announcing that he's on the imposter's side and won't turn them in if they tell him who they are. is largely unsuccessful

➼Jack doesn't see the value in a game about being manipulative and dishonest. won't play

➼Azul is LIVING for this. probably the worst imposter to go up against because he is insanely good at strategizing his victory. wins so many times that he's temporarily barred from playing

➼Jade is voted out early on for being suspicious. he's not the imposter, and was covering for Azul. sneaky bastards

➼Floyd is also AFK. got hungry and then forgot he was playing

➼Jamil somehow convinces everyone to vote for Kalim first

➼Kalim isn't even upset about being ejected, and is happily waiting for the next round. continues spamming the chat and following other players around as a ghost

➼Vil is the second casualty. calls the game childish, quits, and then hovers over Epel's shoulder telling him what to do for the rest of the round. plays dress-up flash games to calm down afterwards

➼Epel is just here to attack people. never gets voted for, even when he is the imposter, which drives him mad

➼Rook knows who everyone is already. spends the entire game following people around and openly guessing if they're imposter or not. gets ejected for being suspicious

➼Idia is playing anonymously. wouldn't want to embarrass himself in front of his classmates under his own name, right? always the longest surviving crewmate, wins by completing all the tasks in record time

➼Ortho will occasionally join just to give Idia a real challenge

➼Lilia is running the game and mostly staying out of the way. he would mop the floor with everyone else if he was really trying

➼Sebek hits the emergency meeting button any time anyone gets close to Malleus. is promptly voted out

➼Silver only plays because Lilia insisted he joins the fun. doesn't really understand the point or any of the references everyone is making and stops playing to do homework five minutes in

➼Malleus becomes more interested in hearing you explain the game to him and forgets he's playing entirely. AFK

TWST JP just dropped the news that there will be a second installment of Magic Assault Practice (a type of event not yet released in EN). This will begin on the 26th this month.

The first event of this nature released with the SSR Raven Jacket Crowley card:

Now the assumption is that each NRC staff member will eventually get their own playable SSR with new installments of Magic Assault Practice.

Looks like it’s Crewel-sensei’s time to shine this month!! (His Duo Magic is with Crowley 😂) Here is a screenshot from the in-game announcements tab to confirm:

Fun fact, Crewel’s Rich Fur Coat SSR is now the strongest card in the game in terms of raw attack power. Dorm Uniform Riddle has held that title for the last 4+ years (with a max POW of 7979). At last… the queen has been felled…

so we're getting yuuka and the other yuus animated too for the twst anime?? ngl i was hoping they'd use the novel as a basis too but ig it's natural they use the manga as a basis. just hope they execute this properly since i remember how yana and the voice actors weren't aware about this when it was announced.

and hopefully they use the same voice actors as well :< i have high hopes for the anime and knowing new twst fans may know the game through the anime alone I DON'T WANT TWST TO BE RUINED ANY FURTHER

Not gonna lie... Ever since the official announcement of the twst anime, I'm genuinely terrified. Not only because the fandom will grow, but because of the people who will join in. Even if I want us to gatekeep the franchise, it's going to be difficult because it'll be in Disney+. Which means Disney adults will see the anime and watch it in curiosity. As much as I want people to acknowledge and check out the game or anime, the main problem is the gooners. Remember, half of the cast characters are MINORS, and it's most likely they will simp over them.

For all I know, once the anime is out, things are going to get really messy. With mischaracterization, over sexualized towards characters, especially minor characters, and shipping wars already happening in the fandom, it might get worse.

Or maybe I'm just paranoid. But who knows what will happen? Let's all be prepared once the time comes...

And it seems the part that surprised her was that the anime is going to be based on the manga!

Much like many fans have been wondering in what direction an adaptation would go in, it seems that Yana had been wondering, too ^^

As for "Yana not being involved," this rumor likely comes from the original announcement--it credits Yana as the creator of the game, but does not list her as a member of the team behind the anime:

Animation production for Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation is being handled by Yumeta Company × Graphinica, the team behind the globally successful Record of Ragnarok II. The overall director is Takahiro Natori, known for works like ARIA The BENEDIZIONE and Tokyo Mew Mew New♡. The director is Shin Katagai, who worked on The Newbie Old Man Adventurer: Trained to Death by the Strongest Party and Became Invincible and CUE!. The script is by Yoichi Katou, renowned for handling a wide range of genres, from Space Brothers to Aikatsu! and The Idolmaster Million Live!, with a proven track record of managing works with many characters. This team has gathered to faithfully recreate the game's originality while fully bringing out the charm of the characters in the animation.

Yana has spoken before, at length, about the struggles faced by mangaka whom fans feel do not have enough involvement in adaptations of their work: Post 1 - Post 2

She explains,

For works outside of Black Butler I am often not the copyright holder, so oftentimes I will not know what kind of adaptations are being planned. When something comes up I will do my best if I am asked to participate, but if I am not approached, I leave it to them.

So does this mean that Yana is not being consulted on the anime adaptation of Twst? Is that why she was surprised that it is being based on the manga--that wasn't her decision?

We do not know--there is no official confirmation!

And we will maybe never know ^^ There are likely many complex contractural rules bound up in this situation! Yana coming forward and saying that she has no hand in the anime could have negative consequences, as fans of her work may turn away from it, but she also cannot take credit for something in which she was not involved--it is a delicate line to walk!

Until such a time as there is an official announcement of how much Yana was or was not involved, all we can do is speculate ^^

also, the fact that the new card is Vil is so random ?? they could've easily given the card to Kalim (aka the one who was in the event with no new card, no new sprite and no personal story) and have it make a little more sense than just spinning a wheel and letting it go to whatever random character it lands on with no context. not to mention the fact that Vil has already had 3 new event cards, 2 of which have only furniture, and adding this card to that pile is so lazy. like clearly it's a cash grab, but it's the laziest and honestly most insulting way they went about this since there's way more people willing to drop some cash on a card that actually has something of value other than being pretty. it doesn't help that the new groovies have been hit or miss / are straight up boring and not even worth it in that sense.

twst has been so irritating with new cards having furniture instead of personal stories. there's absolutely no reason for Vil's new SSR card to have just furniture lmao. they could've easily waited a bit to just write a personal story OR just hold off completely to 'remix' or have a part 2 to the event if they really wanted new cards / event content after they released the new Diasomnia chapter, but for some reason decided to have 6 banners in the span of one month.

Hey!! It has been a long time since I've actually spoken and I continue getting questions about me and if I'll be coming back. Long story very very short! Yes!!

I've been focusing a lot of my attention on writing my book and coding my game, but I do want to get back to writing X Readers cause I do genuinely enjoy it.

WILL I WRITE FOR TWST AGAIN?

Eventually yes!! I'll have to re-learn the characters and catch up on the game, but I do want to resume writing and finish any old requests and comms, that I have written whenever I have free time. (When I find time, I will reach out to those with comms, life has been very busy, but very good.)

I absolutely love this account, despite my disappearance, I will return. Hopefully next year, I can post some fics I have!!

You looked out the window as rain started pouring down from the sky. Tapping your fingers on the table as you waited for a certain someone’s call.

But nothing

Idia has been acting weird for the past few weeks. He didn’t answer any of your calls or texts and it worried you. You tried to go to the ignihyde dorm to check on him but every time you do he never opens his door.

He has been locked in his room for weeks. Even his brother doesn’t know what’s going on as he to is being ignored by idia.

Class just ended and you hurriedly packed your stuff before rushing out the classroom. A big smile decorated your face as you couldn’t wait to hang out with your boyfriend this evening. Exam week was finally over and all you wanted to do was cuddle and play games with your boyfriend for the rest of the day.

Finally arriving to ignihyde, you made your way to idia room. With a hum and a skip on your step you finally made it to his room. You knocked on the door before announcing to him that it was you.

“Idia! I’m here” You say. You waited patiently for him to open the door. But, as a few minutes passed by you frowned before knocking again.

He probably didn’t hear me

You knocked and knocked but nothing. You decided to call him and as you did you could hear his phone ring inside his room.

“Idia?”

You hear some rustling in the room before it goes silent again.

“Idia are-“

“Please”

“Huh?”

“Please go”

“Go?”

“…”

“Idia are you okay? Are you not feeling well? Open the door I can-“

“Can you please leave me alone?! I don’t want to talk to anyone right now!”

Your eyes widened as you didn’t expect your boyfriend to yell. You stayed silent before speaking up.

“O-okay, I’ll leave but if you need anything…just call me”

He didn’t say anything after that and you walked away.

After that interaction with idia, he started growing distant. You didn’t let it get to you though. Something must’ve happened to make idia act like this.

You wouldn’t lie but you missed idia. Weeks of no contact and him being distant made you feel sad and lonely.

But enough is enough and you’ll finally do something about it.

You got up before quickly grabbing a coat and walking out of your dorm.

You shiver as the cold air and rain hit your skin. You quickly ran to ignihyde as you didn’t want to waste time.

Finally making it to ignihyde, you started walking to idia room. As you rounded a corner, you saw him.

You could see Ortho who looked mad as he dragged a distressed idia. You quickly walked up to the two, forgetting about the mess you're making after walking in the cold rain.

“Idia!” You can see your boyfriend tense up as you make your way to him. He tried to go back to his room but ortho stopped him.

“Idia please! Just talk to me”

“Big brother, stop running away! You’ve ignored me and y/n for weeks! If you're not going to tell me what’s wrong then at least tell y/n!”

“Idia…please just talk to me. I’m worried about you”

He could see the pain and concern in your eyes.

Shit. He fucked up. He really fucked up

“I-I-“

“Let’s talk in your room” You grabbed his hand before pulling him into his room. Ortho gladly gave the two of you privacy as he left.

“So, what’s going on? You've been ignoring me and ortho for weeks! Did something happen? If so, please tell me what’s wrong! I’m worried idia” By now tears were already flowing down your cheeks as you looked at him.

Seeing you cry broke him further as he suddenly broke down in tears.

“I'm sorry I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you cry! Please…please don’t leave me!” You were shocked to say the least. You cupped his cheeks with your hands as you wiped away his tears. He pulled you close as more tears rolled down his cheeks.

“I’m sorry I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to yell at you that day! I didn’t mean to hurt you that day! It’s just…it’s just that I can’t bear the thought of losing you….losing you like how I lost ortho”

“Losing me?” He stayed quiet for a moment. You ran your fingers through his hair as you tried to get him to calm down. Taking deep breaths idia begins to talk.

“I had a dream…” You stayed quiet and listened.

“I had a dream that….you were gone…I-you were dead…in my arms and there was so much blood” You could feel his hold on you tightened as he continued.

“I didn’t know what to do. I was scared and you weren’t waking up and it reminded me so so much about ortho” You held him close as he quietly sobbed in your arms.

“It’s okay idia…I’m here and I’ll always will be”

You kiss his head as you let him cry in your arms.

Hours later after calming down idia he quickly got you a spare of clothes and you changed before the two of you cuddled for the rest of the day.

You’ll definitely be sick tomorrow morning….

TWST THIRD YEARS ON A SNOW DAY.

cater, trey, idia, rook, leona, lilia, malleus. (no vil because i'm not entiiireeely confident writing him yet, sorry. <3)

cater is absolutely enthused when the announcement of classes being closed goes up on NCR's official magicam account. you don't even get to learn the news yourself when you wake up in the morning, because he's blowing up your phone.

ding, ding, ding!

you feel like you don't have much of a choice. after all, how often does a school of magic have days off due to the weather? scarf wrapped tightly, you brave the walk to the house of mirrors from ramshackle dorm. however, you manage to come across cater halfway.

"thank the seven," he mutters gratefully. he quickly approaches, wrapping his arms tightly around you. "it's so cold! let's hurry to ramshackle."

"to.. ramshackle?"

"haha! riddle gave me permission to go to you. i figured i'd save you the trip. i guess the snow's messing with your signal.. uh, maybe we actually should go to heartslabyul."

trey doesn't get a lot of relaxed days like this. he figures that it would be a nice day to continue his tradition of snow day cookies. but.. too many people are using the kitchen today, so you offer ramshackle's kitchen. after all, crowley finally provided the funds for a much needed renovation.

trey merrily accepts, and gets right down to business. he catches the way you're watching, and offers to let you help him. together, you roll out the cookie dough and use cutters to make little shapes. it's a silly set from the mystery shop- designed as little bats, wizard hats, and wands.

you're so into it that you don't notice your face being slowly caked in powder until you hear him begin to laugh. trey reaches out, gently swiping a portion of flour from your cheek.

"ha.. hahaha! you should be a little more careful, you know."

shishishi.. a day off? perfect! idia now has more time to grind on his gacha games for more ten pulls! he used to pray for days like thi-.. eh? you want to hang out?!

fine. but know that idia doesn't plan on leaving his room today. he invites you in, letting you sit comfortably in his lap while he games. ..you know, he doesn't trust just anyone to do this!

rook is absolutely fascinated with the beautiful way that the snow cascades from the sky, decorating the ground that was flowing with lush grass only a month ago. you can hear his exclamation of 'magnifique!' from the window.

"..oh. that's just rook." you mutter, shrugging as you continue to wipe the window. "wait, what is he doing here?!"

rook doesn't bother knocking as he enters ramshackle dorm. you're already familiar enough with each other after all, no?

"y/n!" he chirps, strolling over to you as if he did not just barge in. "go ahead and put some warmer clothes on. i'd like to take you on a walk."

"a walk..? now?"

"but of course! the scenery outside is a beauty i'd like to share with you in its prime. go on, now." he gently nudges you along, making you believe you don't have much of a choice.

"alright, alright.."

leona is more than content to spend the day lazing about. but, you. ugh.. you. you had to send him that text about hanging out today. how can the gruff leona say no to you?

he ends up outside of your door half an hour after leaving you on read. honestly, you didn't expect him to even open the message itself, let alone show up at ramshackle!

"..leona." you murmur, pleasantly surprised. "come on in."

leona enters, scooping you up along the way. what? his plans today were to relax. i hope you're ready to spend most of the day watching TV and napping, y/n.

you had, unfortunately, not gotten the memo about school being closed for the day. you would have if your phone was charged, but the outlet suddenly stopped working! the weird thing is, the electricity everywhere else was fine..

you arrive to the school, completely prepared to begin the day. but.. the door doesn't open. you shake around the door handle, but to no avail. lilia, who was watching nearby, begins to laugh.

"l-lilia?" you stutter in surprise, staring like a deer caught in headlights. he likes this expression on you.

"malleus was wondering why you weren't at ramshackle. you know that the school's closed, right? didn't you get the email?"

"what? can't they just.. magic away the snow? -why are you here then?!"

lilia lets out another airy laugh. "silver left behind a book he was reading, so i came to retrieve it." he waves his hand, and the door magically opens. "come with me. it's cold out here."

as much as lilia wants to bring silver's book back, being alone together on campus has too many fun possibilities.. why don't you play hide and seek with him, y/n?

malleus is elated when you invite him to ramshackle. he does not spare a goodbye to anyone around him, and instead instantly teleports to ramshackle.

"child of man," he calls, tiers curved into a smile that you doubt will ever vanish from his lips. "what shall we do on this 'snow day'?"

"why.. don't we make a snowman?" you suggest.

"a snowman?" ah, yes. he's made his fair share with lilia, silver, and sebek. "very well. we'll make the most amazing snowman anyone's ever seen."

with that abrupt declaration, he begins to walk outside. too caught up in the moment, he forgets that you still need to put on your coat, scarf, gloves, and snow boots. when you get outside, you find him pacing.

"..mallleus?"

"-oh, right." he clears his throat. "i will begin to roll snow. find us sticks for the arms."

after spending a few hours indoors, you both decide to wrap up by drinking hot cocoa in doors. you yawn drowsily, leaning into him.

"..today was nice."

"yes, it was."
