Chapter 7 broke me and then fixed me. I wasn’t very sure what I wanted to write, I just knew it had to be something, even if I hated it 😔.

Warnings: Angst, a bit divergent from the canon, Reader isn’t written to be Yuu, but can be seen as them.

Post-Overblot Malleus who immediately looks for you after dancing, hopeful to see you, touch you, apologize to you. That fit of an emotional outburst… He still remembers the gaze in your eyes when he halted all attempts of breaching those dreams. They were filled with fear, but another much more substantial element filled your pupils…

Hurt.

In a few pockets of time, your conscious would slip from the current moment, your sight filled with blot and thorns. You could never fully understand the words Malleus would speak to you in those moment, too busy at stoping yourself from falling asleep in his transformed arms. All you remember is the way he looked at you with such soft eyes.

“Please, Sleep.”

Though no matter how hard he whispered such commands, you never listened. But now that he’s no longer blinded with fear, he can’t help but feel guilty for the state of your relationship.

His hand ghosts over his once intact horn, curving over the fresh breaking point in his features. It has him remember your tendency to trace over each ridge. Before he realizes, he stands at your doorway, one where a sad Grim sits on the ground below.

Malleus fully believes Grim to not know where you are, yet the urge to ask lays on his tongue. He doesn't have the chance to voice his concerns before the direbeast softly whispers, curling into himself.

“They knew you’d come here…” Grims body slowly lifts up, his paws sticking out a letter designated to M.D, “They wanted to leave before they could see you.”

“…Leave? Where—”

“Home.” Grimes voice is tiny, a contrast to Malleus who’s deep voice echoes through cold air.

“But why didn’t they…”

“I don’t know… They…” despite his attempts, Grim fails to hide the way he sniffles at the thought of you. “They said, seeing you would make it harder to go home.” no words at exchanged after, Malleus silently snatching the letter from his hold. He lives the envelope to his face, inhaling.

It still smells like you. After everything, he’s unsure if he has the capacity to handle what lays inside, but he tears it open anyway.

I wanna write something similar to the ATSV variants society and I need some ideas

1. Do you think it'd be called the 'Yuu' society?

2. What yuu variants would be in the society?

I plan to have yuu cleaning something in the dorm similar to the guest room but they open a door leading into it just being a hang out for the yuu's, and the rules being that when a 'yuu' enters through the door, they gotta lock the door behind them because they don't want the NRC boys finding out about the society and if they do, that yuu is killed or universe wiped and all yuu's have to report any strange activity to the highest yuu which I plan to make that the Timekeeper! Yuu(who's story I still need to write���‍💨) but it might change

After agreeing on going to McMousalds with your new pookie Riddle for your first date.  You need three things,

1. money

2. dinero

3. お金

    Because there was no way you in hell that you were going to ask Mrs. Rosehearts for money, especially not for fast food.  So that’s why you’re now in Crowley’s office watching as the man in the crow mask nods along to your desperate pleas.  “Ah, young love, very well Mx. Y/N!  In my graciousness, I shall lend you some money.  Alas, it is not much, but it shall suit your needs”.  He summons a short stack of cash on the desk.  You grab the stack like you’ve never set eyes on cash before, and thank your oh so gracious Headmage before securing your money in your pockets and running out of his office to your room.  Entering your room you hide your cash in your dresser, and pull out your notebook.  The notebook that you stole from a table in the Heartslabyul lounge, someone left a perfectly good notebook on an empty table, and it wasn’t stealing if you were gonna use it…right?  Well enough about wondering who would miss their notebook, you opened it to the first page to see your list.

    Okay so maybe the last thing wasn’t very important in theory, but it was important to you, and lucky for you.  The blue twin-tailed virtual idol was right beside you, in all of her plushie that you-won-from-an-arcade-that-totally-didn’t-cost-you-fifteen-bucks- glory.  For some reason that you couldn’t figure out, the night you arrived here Cater (a ginger haired instagram Magicam user junior who was definitely into his classmate Trey, you could sense it).  Brought her to you, you remembered it like it was yesterday (it was actually two days ago but your dementia is setting in-) he knocked on Riddle and your shared room door and you opened it to see a student that Riddle had talked about holding the oh so familiar Miku plushie.  “Hiya! You must be Riddle’s new partner! Hope you’re up to the job, you’re prob wondering ‘Who’s this cute stranger?’  And while I’m sure that our Housewarden has given you all the deets about me, I’m Cater Diamond, Heartslabyul junior! -he hands you Miku- This little thing was found by a student near where you came here, so the Headmage assumed that it’s yours”.  You nod and thank him “Yea, she’s mine, I can’t believe that she’s the only thing that followed me here…guess she really is the number one princess in the world…” you smile nervously “Wait, does that mean you’re phoneless?” Cater gasps, and you’re not sure why he just acted like an Apple user when you tell them that you don’t use Android, but you’re stuck with a Disney Princess phone from the late 2010’s.  

    “I have to take you to get a new phone, there’s this super fresh place that I know that sells phones for cheap!” He smiles and you think stop…there’s no Squid Sisters reference there, STOP IT! Before nodding “Gotcha, I’ll probably take you up on that Cater”.  He checks the time and sighs “Welp, it’s almost curfew, can’t have Riddle catching any of us out after it.  Hope to see you soon!” You smile and wave as he leaves.  You flash back to the present and  sit down on a chair, scooting next to your desk, checking off the Money box and turn to your plushie, staring her in the eyes.  You could’ve sworn you saw the faintest gleam in her stitched eyes before you check off the Miku’s Blessing box.  Now you just need three things, a fancy outfit, and an alert, because McMousalds doesn’t take reservations.  

    You ponder where and how to acquire a fancy outfit, the stores would probably be far too out of your budget, maybe there was a student here who liked to design outfits?  Preferably for around $30?  You sigh at your poor prospects, and grab a bit of your cash, leaving your room with a dream and a low budget.  You leave your shared room and think to yourself about how you’ve never had time to actually explore Heartslabyul, and as you wander through the many halls and staircases.  You feel more akin to Alice in Wonderland than yourself.  Well, considering Heartslabyul’s history that wouldn’t be too far off… Like a child you find yourself drawn to the comforting smell of something baking.  A cake perhaps?  Or a dozen cookies?  You walk into the dorm’s kitchen and see a tall student, short green hair and yellow eyes hidden behind glasses, dressed in the Heartslabyul uniform, whom you recognized as Trey.  You already knew about Trey Clover, but he never seemed particularly interesting, he was a simple guy from a family of bakers you had a friend who loved him though.  "Hi...um...Trey right?" you say quietly, watching as he reads a recipe.  He turns around and smiles at you "Yup, that's me.  You're Y/N right?  It's great to finally meet you, sorry I couldn't meet you earlier, my family needed me back home for a few days".  You smile "It's alright, and yea.  I was wondering...where can I buy a nice outfit for cheap?" Trey pauses and looks away from the recipe, "Nice outfit for cheap...I have a friend who might be able to help you".

    What Trey didn't mention about his friend was that his friend was Vil Schoenheit.  A literal celebrity.  How and why the actual fuck did you keep meeting pretty people?  Wait...you could use these connections...hehe.  Wait, no, you have to get that outfit, don't get distracted.  You sit across from Vil in Pomefiore's lounge, fidgeting nervously with your fingers as the blonde, purple-eyed celebrity stares at you with disdain.  A friend of yours who had no idea what Twisted Wonderland was, called the Pomefiore trio, Vil, Rook, and Epel the Plastics.  Which was quite funny you had to admit.  But what isn't funny is this perfect faced, stunning guy staring you up and down like you're some roach that he came across on the sidewalk.  "This.  This is all that you can afford for your outfit? Thirty thaumarks?  How in the Sevens do you expect to impress your date?  Are you going to eat at a fast food place at the corner of the street as well?" he scoffs, practically offended that you brought such a measly amount in his presence.  "My bad, I wasn't expecting Crowley to be so fucking cheap- you pause as he glares at you and mutters something about what crude language- so flipping cheap, that he only gave me thirty for an outfit.  Also uh...no, we're going to a very nice place...trust".  Vil bites back a remark and sighs "Very well then, I'll buy you an outfit.  Consider it one of my gifts for your future wedding".  The two of you rise from your seats and you smile excitedly "Ohh am I gonna get some Gucci?  Or maybe some Prada?  Shi-I mean shoot, maybe even some Dior..." he shoots you a glare "Do not push it Y/N... How I pity Riddle".  The two of you walk to the front of the school, "Are we gonna have a Disney channel movie style makeover?" you say excited "I have no idea what that is".  He responds, muttering something about feeling like a mother with an overly hyper child.

    You two arrive at a store stocked with luxury brands that you don't recognize, the cheapest item that you can find is a couple hundred thaumarks.  You walk around the store while Vil shops and discusses things with the employees.  You stare curiously at the wallets, until you're tugged away to a dressing room by Vil.  Cue the trying outfits montage.  You leave the store in around two hours as your total adds up to a total of thirty thaumarks.  Holding your bags full of clothes, you say "How did you manage to get all this for thirty thaumarks?" he responds "Simple, my father and I frequent that store.  So the employees curry to our favor.  Also, I consider getting you that outfit my good deed for today".  You blank "that sound's like it's supposed to offend me in some way...".

    You text Riddle while you're in your room prepping for the date.

I saw a bunch of jp tweets talking about who might be silver's bday duo because of what nobunaga (silver's VA) said in the twst radio episode that just came out today. So I gave it a watch, and nobu said he couldn't spill the deets, but he really reeaallly wants us to look forward to silver's bday.

And then kobayashi and ishiya (deuce and bek's VAs) were like okay something's up here and nobu just starts laughing 😭 So people are thinking silver's duo is gonna be either peepaw, mal, or idia (nobu is a huge idia oshi) and that eppy would get idia or peepaw for his duo.

(I had to watch it with a vpn cause its region locked to japan but this is the episode. they talk about silver's bday around the 20:20 mark)

hello guys, I’ll get to going bazonkers about this event soon, but I just saw a few things that’s been alarming me.

If you’re gonna see smth in the game files that hasn’t been officially revealed, please do not say it in public 😭😭 I get wanting to share the deets, but please at least keep it to close friends and whatnot. It’s one thing if it’s like, the next schedule for EN, but some people are revealing JP leaks in public and leaving it untagged. Please remember that (1) some people don’t want to be leaked or spoiled, and (2) the mouse is watching. Twst has already made a few measures in the past to make sure things don’t get leaked right away to fans (particularly groovy art of event cards). They’re probably a lot more aware than we might think, and we’re very fortunate as it is that we have two wikis up with no C&D.

5. If you could have any unique magic / signature spell in the game, which would you choose and why? 

Now this is a tricky one. Also, I’ve not made much progress in book 7 yet (I know I know), so I can’t say much for what we learn there in regards to the signature spells.

Cater’s signature spell is pretty fun. Assuming the copies are happy doing whatever (even if I wouldn’t be), boy would it be useful for like doing chores and in general just getting things done.

Trey’s signature spell also feels like one could do a lot with it if so desired (I really should read some meta on this ngl). Like, making medicine palatable? Or could I make food not trigger my sensitivities? Would be pretty nice.

Jack’s signature spell also feels kinda fun. I mean, a bit hard to use it without causing concern (assuming my current circumstances of living in the city, folks sure would jump seeing a huge wolf chilling about), but boy if it wouldn’t be a fulfillment of all those childhood games of pretending to be an animal of some sort.

On the other hand, with Kalim’s signature spell, one could do a fair bit of good in the world (assuming it doesn’t like start chain reactions of messing with weather patterns and things, which, realistically, it might). I mean, a whole river’s worth of water? That sure is more than just filling a swimming pool or two and could actually make a fair bit of a difference - tho I also don't exactly live in an arid area, so, some logistics would need to be involved there.

In general though, Cater's signature spell just feels like it could make life a lot more convenient. Tho now I really am curious about the whole “how much would they be me”, and what about sharing memories and knowledge and just… how does that work, exactly? Are they just simulacrums of some sort, basically? I need some deets here.

27. What drew you into TWST? What made you stay? 

What drew me: cool fan arts (especially Malleus as I recall), and a friend selling the game to me. I was a bit hesitant about picking up another mobile / gacha game, and also about the ages of the cast / the school setting (kinda starting to feel a bit old to fully relate to teenage drama, and it also adds some extra complications to how I usually view characters (namely, the self-shipping that tends to happen)).

What kept me: the multifaceted characters. They’re so distinct, with quite defining core features to a lot of them, yet also wonderfully layered, too. It also lends to some wonderful dynamics when you put all these different personalities together in all the various combinations and potential situations. It just makes for such an interesting and juicy web of interactions. This was also definitely part of how my friend was selling the game to me originally.

Also, the gameplay is pretty chill for the most part and I’m not feeling overwhelmed by a million dailies that I “must” do, so that makes twst relatively easy to keep going from a gameplay perspective. Though I really am here for the characters and the story, and don’t particularly care for the rhythm games or the guest room (mine’s so neglected ngl). So I'd be pretty fine with an even more emphasis on the visual novel angle.

And of course, let’s be real here, Jamil definitely is a not-insignificant contributing factor in my continued interest.

The moment you set foot into his tower shelves upon shelves of books surround the room, all of which seem pertained to studies that you simply could not care in the least about. A vast majority of them are related to medical while a smaller portion is other educational subjects like Math and English.

It has no matter to you though, all you need is shelter before the guards inevitably catch your thievery. Originally, you believed this place to just be an abandoned library, but the closer you look at it… Fresh tea and a warm plate filled with food that looks plain yet nutritional tells you a different story. Especially how organized and tided the room is, and… The long cascade of red hair that has circled around the room.

You don’t have the chance to fly out the window before someone holds you in place, a blade to your throat.

“Mother said the most important rule is to not let anyone inside.” You don’t turn around to look at your captor, only tightening the grip on your bag.

“Is her rule more important than the law? I hope not—“ before you know it he pulls you to the floor, his long hair tangling into your legs. You finally see his face in all its glory, the sun hugging his skin. He looks… Familiar.

“Yet you’re trespassing. If you really cared for the law you wouldn’t be here!” The blade is closer to your neck, his fingers grazing your skin. He opens his mouth to say more truth, his eyes shifting over to your bag. In turn you catch his gaze when he reaches over.

“Ah ah—! Hey that’s mine you recluse—!” You stretch over to grab your rightful steal before he can, but you’re too late.

“… What’s inside?” It’s a book no doubt, he can tell from the indent of the object through the fabric.

“You don’t talk to anyone but your mommy do you? I’m not telling someone who just tried beheading me!” For a moment his face goes red, expression shifting to anger, ready to yell every rule you’ve broken so far. His rage subsides when he notices the way your freed hand grips his hair.

No one else has touched it but his mother.

When you notice the natural progression of his emotions, you lean into him, your faces a few inches apart. It takes a moment before he realizes how close you are, his body falling back in shock. He buries the book into his body, looking up as your body pins him from above. It’s weirdly a pretty sight, the strands of his crimson hair highlighting your features as it webs your body like webs. He winders what kind of person you are.

“Do you wanna leave?” The words don’t fully process, as if he has never even considered the thought. He doesn’t reply, furrowing his eyebrows in suspicion. He really shouldn’t trust you, not at all, yet your smile seems so genuine he can’t help but feel his worry dissipate at your face. You lower your body down, your chin placing itself on the book, the only obstacle blocking you both from practically embracing each-other. “I’ll help you out, and you can give me the book back.”

He shouldn’t believe you, but the moment you smiled at him, he can’t help but put his belief in you.

“… Riddle.” He leans back up, his hair following him, which only further traps you in himself, but you don’t seem to mind for some reason. Your finger twirls his hair, your hand grabbing onto his.

“Let’s go then, Riddle.” Little does he know, the familarity you felt has been realized.

This Riddle, is your childhood crush who suddenly moved away.

notes: ugh, writer’s block hit me like a bitch, but i managed to create a handful of hcs for some characters. i’ve wanted to do some twst content for quite awhile now and this is the only thing i can really label as finished lol. but this isn’t the spot to complain! i’d rather use this as a chance to ask for tips on how to get over writer’s block. so, uh… any suggestions? 👀 👉👈. i’m still open to requests btw—no guarantee that i’ll do it but maybe i’ll get something that sparks some inspo in me :p

riddle

❀ his invitations always extend out to you for any upcoming event at his dorm, which is usually an unbirthday party. there’s always a seat reserved for you when you arrive and it’s right beside him

❀ his voice is never loud when you’re around, he isn’t as harsh with his punishments when he catches a glimpse of you. this leads to ace hanging around you once he finds out just how much trouble he’s in (inadvertently pisses riddle off more because he gets a little jelly with how often you two hangout)

❀ as stated above, since riddle doesn’t yell at you that means he doesn’t punish you at all. his excuse for letting you off the hook is because you’re not a student in his dorm, but it’s hard to believe when the rules you break are one of the school’s, something everyone must follow regardless of your dorm

ace

❀ he usually has something for you to borrow when you need to. ace doesn’t always remember to bring a pencil to class, but on the off chance that he does he always brings two

❀ his teasing doesn’t stop, but he makes sure everyone else’s does. he’ll joke about how stupid the jacket you’re wearing looks but will immediately throw hands if someone else says it

❀ practically drapes himself over you when possible. you’ll just be standing there when ace slings an arm over your shoulders, resting his head against yours as he asks what you’re doing. when someone tries to do the same thing to you he’s immediately swatting them away, saying you don’t like physical touch as he takes their place

deuce

❀ your name always finds a way to show up in his messages to his mom. somehow, he finds a way to connect the topic to you and doesn’t realize it until his mom points it out. there’s a bit of a time gap between her last message and her son’s response when this happens

❀ similar to the one above, deuce lets you meet his mom whenever they talk on the phone. the first time you spoke on facetime she said you looked just as pretty as deuce described. his face burned so bright when you giggled at that

❀ when the two of you went to the museum to hangout deuce went ahead of time so that he could learn all the art pieces and statues so that he’d appear smart to you

leona

❀ leona takes no shit from anyone and he makes sure you don’t, too. if anyone tries to pull something on you he’s instantly on their ass; he might beat them up, too. he doesn’t tell you what he did, but you find out anyways because he scolds you for letting people try to walk all over you with dirt on his clothes

❀ his tail acts subconsciously, always wrapping itself around your arm or leg. he once told you to scram but you couldn’t because of the firm grip his tail had on your wrist

❀ he’s always listening to you even when it seems like he’s asleep. you’ll mention a cute shirt that you were considering to get to only find it on your front doorstep the next day. complaining about someone bugging you? they suddenly want nothing to do with you

jack

❀ he’s always looking out for you without realizing it. swears he isn’t doing it on purpose but you notice how often he stares at you

❀ he always analyzes the food his peers eat and this includes you. however, he actually gets you the food groups you’re missing on your plate rather than just pointing it out like he normally does. he just wants you to stay healthy (bonus: when he makes himself a meal he usually makes another for you)

❀ if your hands are cold he offers you to put them in his tail—only in private, though!!

vil

❀ instantly fixing you up as soon as he spots you. somehow, this man can find an issue with the way you dressed (your jacket is crooked, your hair isn’t brushed properly, etc.). it isn’t until one day when you show up dressed to vil’s standards that you find out why he’s doing this. he waltzes up to you and has his hand out, ready to fix something, when he stops and stares, analyzing you all over. his hand is moving from place to place until he finally settles on brushing something off your shoulder, looking more agitated than usual. couple minutes later, he’s snatching your hand as you both walk about

❀ he has to receive some physical touch from you daily hehe >:3c

❀ lowkey gets jealous when you seem attracted to someone else. vil can appreciate beauty but if you got heart eyes at someone wearing mismatched shoes he is instantly on you, saying you need to raise your standards and go for someone more beautiful and has a fashion sense—definitely someone with blond hair

epel

❀ his family asks so many questions about you and he’s so eager to answer. he tends to ask you the answer to some of these questions since they’re stuff he wouldn’t personally know. once asked you a string of questions that were kinda sus, but when he got to “what wedding theme would you have?” you blurted out, “epel is your family planning a wedding?” he wrote a lengthy letter back home after this

❀ he likes to subtly match with you. vil was the one to bring up the topic of people (normally couples) that match each other’s styles and while epel scoffed at this he started to think about it more and really wanted to match with you. he started off with some matching charms because no way in hell is he going to vil for anything

❀ your enemies are epel’s enemies. doesn’t matter what they did or if they’re kind to him, epel is training for the day he can beat them up. probably pins a picture of them on his punching bag

malleus

❀ he’d be so eager to share a bed with you, plans so many ways to make you share one. he was taught that only married people share a bed so if you guys shared one then logically you have to get married!

❀ when he learned that creating 1000 origami cranes would grant you a wish he made them in one sitting just so he could wish to spend the rest of eternity with you

❀ you know how being in clubs can excuse you from classes? well, ever since he learned this malleus had been trying to get you to join his club so that he can call you out of class when he wants to see you ^^ teachers can’t stop him if he says that it’s for club reasons hehe

sebek

❀ keeps a diary that documents what happened every day, he doesn’t skip any. most of his entries are just him singing high praises about malleus but slowly, your name begins to pop up. first, it only occurred once a month, then twice, then once a week until finally; your name popped up just as much as malleus’ does

❀ the contents about you are actually rather sweet, they were kinda mean at first but gradually you made your way up. he can never work up the nerve to compliment you naturally—sure, he praises you for getting a good score on a test, but i mean stuff like how pretty you look, or how gorgeous your eyes are, or how he wants to take your hand in marriage; so, ya know, basic stuff like that!

Do you have any deets on your cy-bug twst adaptation, and are you cool with folks making fan charas for the dorm that are also cy-bugs?

To get the short question out of the way, yes anyone can make cy-bug fan characters for the dorm (I think it would technically count as an open species)

Now for the details, I'm gonna break it into parts since this has been a hyper fixation of mine for a while

I drew this as a simple reference for those who want one.

Eyes

When it comes to the eyes it was easy to simply go with four as I wanted the cy-beings to look very similar to the cy-bugs. (Based on the different stages of the cy-bugs life in the Wreck it Ralph movie, Cy-beings would first start off with two eyes and then grow the other pair in around puberty.)

Mouth/markings

Using King Candy /Turbo as a reference for the more human parts of the species I decided to give them shark like teeth and to fit in with the green bug motive a green tongue.

Now right now my ocs do not have the mouth markings as I honestly forgot about it when designing them, maybe that might change but for now I'm comfortable leaving them as is but others can add them in if they want to.

Wings

Now for the wings, going off of the design from the cy-bugs I gave the species 4 wings to be movie accurate, however I thought it would be cool if the wings could appear and disappear at the will of the character as the wings are pretty big.

Silverfish tail

I don't have much to say about the silverfish tail since I think it would function like almost any other tail except it would feel hard like an exoskeleton.
