Huh...” The confusion is shallow, a brief bewilderment before amused indifference punctuates the initial reaction with a shrug.

@twinxmasters asked: Amame's text the previous night was obviously very concerning. Something about her brother being left at the police station and needing to pick him up? Did Mr. Enda get caught up in something? He didn't pry further, since she probably didn't know what was going on either. Then Valentine's morning comes, and he hears nothing back from her. Not an update on whatever was going on, not a token flirty text given the day, nothing. That was concerning him even more. Alarm bells are already going off, but it's his sister's birthday, and Amame probably wouldn't want him to brush her off for her sake. Thus, he decides to visit Momo at the family home first and then check in on her. His present was given, cake was sliced in the morning of all times of day, his tension seemed to relieve itself somewhat... Until Ene suddenly blew up his phone, demanding him to read the article she just found in the most horrified tone he's ever heard from her. He realized right away what she was so freaked out by once he read the first few sentences. "Suspected to be the latest in a spree of similar killings, two halves of a body have been discovered in Studio Dvaita and Misetan Amusement Park. Eyewitnesses have identified the body as Yoneharu Enda, also known by his stage name Andes Komeji." Pure horror stretched across his face as he bolted out of the house, offering only a hasty goodbye to Momo and their mother as he left. He was probably gonna get an earful for that later, but this is more pressing. Ene blinks to his computer back at home to call a taxi while Shintaro furiously taps away at his phone, holding it to his ear as he tries to desperately to get a hold of Amame.

The memories of the previous night haunt the mermaid, in her attempts at freeing Ryuki, in interrupting a serial killer's plan, in seeing half of her father's corpse. And in all that chaos, in all that pain and suffering - she had failed Shoma, she failed her little brother. They'd picked Shoma up from the Police station, brought him back home, and confronted them with the knowledge that her father had been working illegally - all for Shoma, but still illegal. To this knowledge, her brother explodes in a fit of anger, and Amame's taken aback, unsure how to step in.

She does what she can to support her family, but even so times like these, she's just a bystander, unable to resolve any of this. A message from a serial killer and her father's offering himself up as bait to catch them - something Amame comes to admire, yet fear. (What if something happened to her Dad?) And time passes by, and a debate between them breaks out, should they or shouldn't they - it's silly, but Amame probably would've left to follow regardless. (Perhaps, she should have.)

The detective lays on the floor, unresponsive, and otherwise, the stage is void of any other life forms. At least he's breathing, she scrambles and curses as her nail comes off in an attempt to free him from his confines - to no avail. In that next moment, the doors slam open, a sight of what Amame imagines fear being, entering the room - wheeling a black bag on what could be a gurney. Her stomach drops, and terror pumps through her veins, Amame scrambles back, knocking things over when the new presence makes its way toward her.

Shit, shit! The doors locked.

The danger looms, advancing on Amame - in her state of hysterical fear, one fed when he produces a gun at the sound of others interrupting them. The threat is clear, and the would-be killer hides among the mannequins. In the end, silence is better than words, even when they unveil the bodybag and she finds her father - oh. Oh no.

The memory of it all breaks her once again, as fresh as the moments it happened in her mind. Her mother's condolences fall on deaf ears, and Amame can't help but wonder what will happen to Shoma - will he move in with his sister and mother, or continue to stay...

Among her frantic thoughts and erratic feelings, all Amame really wants at the moment is to see Shintaro, to just be with him and erase that pressure of knowing she had aided in setting her father's murderer free.

Her phone remains discarded somewhere in the room, there's no energy to answer anyone really. Even as it's non-stop vibrating from the numerous messages and attempts at phone calls fall upon deafened ears, her father was dead, and his killer threatened to kill her. She highly doubts she'd be able to string together words at this point in time, much less feign preppiness for those who she acts for.

What did it all matter in the end?

When she had clearly made the wrong choice.

There’s only a few things worthy of interrupting a delicious coffee break and-- okay yeah, this is Wylan we’re talking about, that’s a lot of bullshit isn’t it? When it comes to schedule tangents one often beget another. And so it went that with a Frappuccino in hand the phone in his pocket conveniently goes off just as he was about to leave. It’s a horrible thing that Wylan has two.

“...Shintaro talking to a blue haired girl? Does that have some kind of significance?” Spoken aloud as his gaze shoots off to the side. There’s so many people he knows, but if Ene is going to call it out there must be some significance. Tick... tick... ding!!

"Someone who was upset at my line of work? I think it was the only impression I could have had." And Ene didn't seem to be happy with the mermaid uniform, or the work. It's kinda funny to think about now!

Current impression: 

"W-well, Shinny is friendly and incredibly sweet. He's deceptively patient and passionate about music, which I think is amazing." Maybe he'll even teach her how to play an instrument? That'd be a nice activity for a couple right...?

Are they attracted to your muse?:  

"Y-yeah, I mean Shinny's my boyfriend now. It'd be weird if I wasn't!" He's smart, kind, good-looking, and easy to talk to! What isn't there to be attracted to?
