(twink death discussion) I mean, he isn't a natural lanky person. If you watch Fortysomething (2003), he was more buffy than in BBC Sherlock. And it's very difficult to maintain that body type when one has to be stuck around the filming site all day long, like not enough glycogen storage and whatnot. He got lanky just to match the appearance in ACD Holmes, with his height, it's probably a 30-lbs difference, huge respect!

THIS is very true, Nonny! And I do appreciate that they let him get a bit more "filled-out" as the series moved on not only to subtextually imply that John was feeding him up, BUT because that kind of demand on an actor in and for such a short amount of time is dangerous. Especially during his S3 and S4 years when he was buffing up for his Marvel roles, I think they kind of had no say anyway.

Obsessed with this guy from the last part of Soviet Holmes. He has absolutely no relation to Holmes or Watson whatsoever. He works at a building complany that owns their flat now that they've moved out. Then they show up, unannounced, to the flat they have no rights to anymore, demand to use the living room, and suddenly without any transition this dude is their servant. They don't employ him. They don't ask if he's willing to do all this. They don't ask if he has other duties to attend to. Holmes just strait up starts giving orders and my dude is apparently so dumbfounded by meeting the legendary Sherlock Holmes that he just does whatever he's told. He had an actual job but apparently what he does now is brings Holmes and Watson their post, introduces visitors, makes sure they have a telephone installed and even serves them food. He looks absolutely terrified all the time.
