Can you imagine if one day, like 200 years from now after Renesmee has "full matured", Bella notices Renesmee looks.... Different?

Maybe it's the wrinkles around her eyes no one seemed to notice when she smiled before. Maybe it's the shine in her red curls slowly fading. Maybe it's the way her skin no longer has that dazzling glow she's had since she was born.

Bella realizes one day with abject horror- Renesmee is aging again.

Victoria & Bree Cullen AU Prequel to Fic Drabble

Background: At Bella’s request, it’s Jasper who joins Rosalie in guarding her father, so that Jasper can soften Charlie’s worry over Bella and provide him with some comfort. As a result, it is Edward, Alice, Carlisle, Emmett, and Esme who are present at the studio. James uses Victoria to guard the ballet studio. As the Cullens run to save Bella, Esme is questioning the extent of Victoria’s loyalty, and remains firm that they try to reason with her first, sympathetic but unyielding in the face of Edward’s anger and disgust.

“Laurent is proof that James’s authority can be undermined. He told us himself that James and Victoria made him uneasy. There’s a chance that with understanding, we could defeat an enemy and gain an ally,” Esme argues, giving Edward an admonishing look. “One as much in need of our kindness as we are of her mercy.”

With Esme’s declaration come slices of the future stealing away Alice’s vision – the redhead hissing and thrashing in Emmett and Esme’s ironclad grasp, Edward pulling James off Bella’s body with Carlisle not far behind, Victoria ripping her nails through James’s snarling face, Victoria stumbling away from a smoldering building only to be caught in Esme’s arms.

As the images fade, the sounds of sirens and whispering fades into Edward’s fierce arguing, dulled to mumbling in her ears. Her hand flies to Carlisle’s arm. With just that touch, his focus shifts entirely. He turns to her as he slows to a stop, the group slowing with him.

“What have you seen, Alice?”

She glances at Esme as the coven quiets, then turns to Carlisle and says, “We just need to restrain her long enough for Edward to get in and protect Bella. Once Emmett and Esme have her in one place, you and I can follow him inside. We can’t trust her yet. We need to keep her contained.”

Esme stiffens, already ready to argue, but Alice cuts her off.

“Contained,” her eyes flicker to Edward, “but alive.” She knows that her brother can see the same snippets of time that she has, but he clearly has his doubts as to her interpretation, because the anger radiates off him so that she’s briefly thankful that Jasper isn’t there to suffer through it as well. “Carlisle, I think… I’m not sure, but I think we can help her.”

“We can incapacitate her and use her as leverage,” Esme blurts, and both Alice and Carlisle turn to her. She would flush if she were human, but stands taller under her husband’s inquisitive gaze. “She’s his mate. If we can’t overpower him, we can offer a trade of hostages. She’s...” She wrestles with the words. “She’s of no use to us dead anyway.”

Carlisle’s features twitch with surprise for a moment, before his jaw shifts and sets. Like this, he looks more like marble than usual, sporting a glare tempered by conviction. A passerby could easily mistake him for stone. He nods at his wife, then motions for the group to follow. They begin to run again, and the studio closes in. There are buildings next to it but approaching from the back gives them the privacy of a clearing with fences to shield them from sight should Victoria resist their peace talk. The doctor turns to Edward.

“Be ready to go for the door,” he tells him, and when all this elicits is a scowl, Carlisle shakes his head. “We’re here for Bella, Edward. I haven’t forgotten that. Have faith in us.”

He stops there, but ‘we can save two souls today’ echoes in each of their ears all the same.

Thanks to everybody who has expressed support for the fic! I wish it were longer, and that there was some Victoria or Bree in this, but I’ve been busy, and just wanted to see how people feel about some of the founding ideas out before getting into the heavy plot and stuff. Nothing inspires me to write like having people tell me what they like or that they want more. “Jacob are you listening to me? I said I can’t do this anymore.” Jessica was scared. Her heart was racing and she was shaking. Paul had lost temper with her and nearly took her face off. 

He apologized profusely but Jessica was stuck on the idea that it could of been Jacob. She could be hurt if Jacob ever accidentally loses his cool with her

Sam did around Emily and now he can’t look at her or mention her without a glint of guilt in his eyes. A look that she refused to see in Jacob’s.

“Kitty please, just take a minute to breathe and calm down.” He was pleading with her to just take a moment. Jacob wouldn’t guilt her into staying with him. Even if it hurt he wouldn’t do that. This was their dance but Jessica was the lead.

Tears welled up in her eyes. “No! Do not call me that we are not dating anymore.” This wasn’t just about the potential injuries thie shifting could bring. It was the pace of things. It was the supernatural element. 

Now she was considering become a druid whatever that was just to get more time with Jacob. It was scary that loved could form so hot and so quickly. “It’s just better for the both of us. You won’t have to worry about hurting me and I won’t have to worry about becoming a drui-whatever your Dad mentioned last week.”

They were standing just outside Jacob’s garage. “If this...” Jacob kicked himself off the wall and walked a few feet away to get his words in order.

“I won’t stop you and I’ll stay away...” He muttered walking back up Jessica. Tears were hot against his face.

Picking up her purse Jessica chose to end the conversation there. 

Mike Newton wasn’t perfect but he could be molded. A good sturdy man to turn to to make it clear this was done. 

Inside her car Jessica felt her hands lock onto the wheel. A life time with Mike couldn’t be so bad. As long as he was over Bella, put more care into personal hygiene, and ever bothered to actually ask Jessica a question that wasn’t “Can you get me a beer.” 

Starting the car Jessica looked back at Jacob again. He was dim. His whole personality was turned down.

If Jacob was just a human she could stay. This was the logical thing to do and logic was always the best fall back when scared.

The car stopped. Her feet were heavy. Jessica wasn’t even out of the driveway before getting out.

Jacob walked away from the shed with a loud yell of frustration.

Do this because it’s logical. Do this because it will make your Mother happy. Do this do this do this do this. It was maddening.

If she were to take the leap and follow this path of mystic magic she would have Jacob. He would be there when she woke up in the morning and warm her up. 

“I’m scared to leave.”

“This isn’t meant to happen to me. I was supposed to be a lawyer and marry Mike Newton. Not have wolf cupid strike me in the ass one day randomly.”

While Jessica talked Jacob clenched his jaw.

“Alright? Do you get that? I’m sorry I’m so back and forth but this is scary! You fought an army of vampires and almost fucking died Jacob! Do you know how that felt on my end?!” Jessica covered her mouth.

Jacob felt himself physically soften. “Jessica, this is why?” He stopped and thought over the past seven hours of the day. Slowly Jessica had become more panicked and jumpy. This is was a panic attack gone unnoticed by either of them. “Can I give you hug?”

Shaking Jessica looked up at the beautiful man before her. The most patient man she had ever dealt with. “Please.” It was a loud sob.

Jessica stayed the night the two of them sat to talk things over. It was strainful at times but it calmed Jessica down. Sitting on his bed now Jessica was sipping tea. They were now onto the druid conversation. “I can become just a normal guy you know that.”

“No, this isn’t the life I want anymore. It’s hard to say that but I’m kinda excited to see if I can even cast a spell.” She placed the mug on the window ledge. “I’m sorry again. My medication for panic attacks probably need to be upped now that I’m thinking about it.”

“Yeah I can’t afford for you to smoke two joints a night to calm down.” He teased moving the ashtray to his desk. Laying down on the bed Jacob wrapped them up in his sheet. “Get some sleep, kay?”

“You’re so kind, Jacob.” Jessica kissed Jacob hard and heated.

So a refresher: Alice should’ve heard when James calls in twilight. She’s right there. So what if she did? What if she was a little less tight lipped about the vampire transformation process, and a lot more willing to piss off Edward? Bella’s got a messy past, and neither of them really know what they’re jumping into when Alice and Jasper decide to step in. Just how far was Bella willing to go to escape her past, and who would she be on the other side? Is vampirism the solution to all her problems, or a whole new world of them?
