ah, that's a fair perspective. i asked because i read a thread on twitter this afternoon about how a particular public school became non-selective and suddenly became a lot worse (https://x.com/tracewoodgrains/status/1838600417342902508) so i was trying to wrap my head around why exactly someone would oppose them, but i guess the individual school's too small of a perspective compared to the system in general - status games do kinda suck! would be interested what a wider look would say on this question

i mean, no shit: if you stop segregating schools by performance, then the previous designated schools for high-performing students will no longer be higher performing! it is working precisely as advertised! if twg has, like, object permanence about students other than those at masterman, then ig the complaint makes sense. but that feels like too little charity even for twg

okay, it's been almost a week since I got back into writing mode, and the words have honestly been flying. started chapter 9 of The World's Greatest Spies tonight, and the current draft is nearly up to 29k!

I have to share this epiphany with the world. Pietro only started being properly robot racist after marrying Crystal. Before that he was occasionally weird but mostly fine with it, he even asks Vision to talk some sense into Wanda because he knows she had a crush on them. Yet he marries Crystal and goes to the turbo eugenics society and suddenly has a massive problem with it. I feel like a genius.
