#twd mid season premiere

If someone had never watched TWD or TOWL and you only could only show them one episode as a preview, which would you choose and why?

Ooh this question is really good.👏🏽 I’m approaching this as if it means a preview that can include spoilers, so basically showing them the episode that best reflects the series. For TOWL, I’d 100% choose Episode 4 because it would give the person a perfect sense of the powerful connection and emotional depth of Richonne.

And for TWD, I’d choose the season 6 mid-season premiere No Way Out. It’s an excellent episode from start to finish and I think it captures many of the best elements of the show. It's well-written and climactic and gives a solid sense of the ensemble and who Rick Grimes is as the fiercely and admirably determined (& a bit certifiably crazy 😋) protagonist.

If all someone was shown was No Way Out they’d get a great sense of how TWD approaches philosophical conflicts (Carol & Morgan’s contrasting ideologies), action and high stakes (the massive walker invasion), the characters' moral complexities and multidimensionality (The Wolf & Denise), the way any character can die at any time (the end of the Andersons), the found family and super close relationships (Rick, Carl, & Michonne and Glenn & Maggie).

They’d also get a taste of the series’ shock (Carl’s eye reveal), suspense (all of it, but especially that teaser and then trying to make it through the hoarde at ASZ), the foundational father & son element (Rick’s closing speech to Carl), and the central themes of survival and humanity’s resilience (everyone coming together to take down the hoarde). Plus, while TWD puts the characters through a lot of misery there’s also beacons of rewarding hope every now and then and No Way Out captures that really nicely with its heartwarming ending.

That’s why 6.09 is my pick. I’d love to know what episodes other people would choose that best represent the series too.😊

Really tho it makes me sad that we'll never see Carl with his one-eyed sunglasses and his hair slicked back, becoming a blacksmith and having his changed relationship with Negan, meeting Lydia and getting all the development he deserves.

Okay, I have a serious question??

What is everyones problem with Daryl???

Like what did he do?? I know he hasn't been the greatest the last 2-3 seasons but damn, y'all are treating him worst than you did Negan when he did his dirt, and he's an actual antagonist.

I get not liking a character but I feel like people don't like Daryl cause

A. The Glenn stuff, ( which has been said was going to happen, Negan just needed someone to mess up. )

Or

B. His 'man pains' which I feel is really wrong on you're parts but whatever.

Please tell me ( in a non aggressive way ) on why you don't like him beside the reason above.

1.) The Walker mow-down. Yes. Just….holy shit, yes.

2.) Alexandria & The Kingdom finally meeting.

3.) Glenn, Abraham & others mention. I WASN’T READY FOR THE FEELS.

4.) The bomb disarming. Ya’ll got nerves of steel.

5.) Daryl’s snarky, badassery throughout the entire episode

6.) Jesus. Just…Jesus himself.

I did watch Season 7 and the first half of Season 8 on the last few days, so I can say I'm a bit excited. I don't think it'll be something amazing but let's see.. Half an hour to go. 👌

What season are you on on The Walking Dead? I don't like any kind of horror movie, but I loved TWD because of the drama and great acting. After a while, I got used to the zombies & the gross stuff. I only stopped watching towards the last few seasons because I was tired of seeing characters I loved get killed off for shock value.
