Ok, after reading through once for all RO's and then a second time for the M route (they have my heart in a chokehold, please Seraphinite) I have a DYING question to ask which you may or may not wish to fully answer: I noticed on the M route multiple occurrences of M/the Dectective touching one another and soothing the other immediately like a kind of instant calming remedy. Obviously, for M this ties very much into the smoking thing and the pheromones - but why does it work in a similar way the other way around to the Detective? Why do they get soothed by M's touch? Is it intentional that this doesn't seem to be as obvious/effective with the other three RO's? Or am I just reading way too hard into the M route because I love them so much? And if you don't want to answer this due to any spoilers etc, then can I be super cheeky and simply ask: will we find out more about the M pheromone situation in book 4? P.S thank you so much for all the work you do, your writing is amazing and I honestly feel so lucky to have even found such amazing writing! <3

It's mostly to do with how I wanted M's route to be a physical kind of romance.

Sexually, yes, if the player wants that, but I mean more that the way they show and express themselves is more through touch.

The MC and M anchor each other, and their tether is through the physical touch (unlike say, A, who is more the gazes—there's A LOT of gazing in that route because the way they express is through looks).

That physical tether and anchoring to each other is an instant thing.

Each of the romances has their own way of expressing that soul-mate kind of bond that I want to help make the routes feel unique!

Will there be a discussion about M's pheromones affecting the MC back in book one during patrol? I know we get a glimpse of it affecting the MC again in book 3 if their science check succeeds but I feel like this is a very important point to work on with UB? Would it only be discussed on M's route or will there be an instance where it affects MC on the other routes too?

It will become quite a major plot point in M's romance, yes.
