Tw - banned books, spoilers, politics, racism, oppression, and many other potentially uncomfortable topics
Read Liz's original banned books post here
On today's discussion, a book that truly gives me chills just reading the title:
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Maya Angelou is one of the most well-known and to some controversial, members of the black rights movement and women's rights movement. Angelou, rest her soul, was known for her work with Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X during the Civil Rights Movement. She made over 80 appearances in lectures, was an actress, an American poet, and director. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings is one of her most prized to Liz autobiography works. I genuinely cry every time I read this book. Maya Angelou is also the most banned author on the banned books list.
The book is focused on a young Maya and is a coming of age story with a focus on overcoming adversity, racism, and trauma. The book begins with a 3 year Maya and her brother, forced to move to Arkansas with her grandmother. This book follows her journey as she is SA by her mother's boyfriend, as she hides her uncle from KKK raiders, as she is forced to change her name to Mary by a racism boss, as she slowly turns the narrative with herself. Maya shows a story of progression from victim to a strong self spoken young woman who is able to look prejudice in the face.
Just when readers believe they will find comfort towards the end of this book, Maya presents the next challenge she faces: motherhood as a black woman living in the US.
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings is the first part of a seven book series in Angelou's autobiography, with each of the 7 books addressing different points in the author's controversial and courageous life.
This book has been unfire since it was published in 1969 with many claiming it cannot be an autobiography due to Angelou's writing styles and storytelling, and more importantly, because it shows the racial divide that has existed in the US since Christopher Columbus decided he evidently found a new world.
This book has been banned for being: anti-white, sexually explicit, for portraying acts of violence and racism, and for addressing issues involving censorship.
I easily would consider I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings in my reading top ten, and I think if you are interested in the birth of the Civil Right's Movement, interested in challenging your own comfort zone, and interested in seeing life from the perspective of a member of one of our most oppressed communities, this is a difficult but fantastic place to start. I highly recommend the copy with a forward from Oprah. Something about one of the most powerful women in history opening one of the most powerful books I've read makes my heart flutter, and I think it will make yours flutter, too.

TW: there is nothing graphic or detailed here but mentions of slavery (including sexual) and the subject is racial sexual stereotypes.
It's kind of a controversial topic, but I wanted to know if I was exaggerating or if it's really a thing.
When it comes to Patrochilles, I divide the fandons into Hades, TSOA, and mythological. Sure, they mix in here and there, but the characters themselves have different looks and personalities and this reflects what is most popular in each tag!
For example, out of all of them, TSOA has the most childish personality and Hades has the most mature personality. Hades!Pat seems to me like he would work well in the Iliad, but TSOA!Pat wouldn't. The amount of Achilles' repudiable actions also varies. In Hades, they're visibly older and Patroclus is very clearly Black, in TSOA they're usually younger and Patroclus is generally represented as Black or ambiguous (I see more light skin, though) and in mythology they're both Greeks who probably had skin color similar for the armor thing to work and this is reflected in the ancient visual representations we have of them (that is, both white. At most, really tan. You can see it in ceramics, statues, and frescoes).
I'm making the differences clear because what I'm going to comment on is specifically the TSOA tag, in which Patroclus may not generally be as dark as Hades!Pat, but still tends to either be Black or at least not white. I've been noticing 3/4 ideas for fics with slavery/master AU, in which Patroclus always becomes Achilles' slave, the sexual tension between them begins when there is still this difference in power and in general any possible dubcon is on Patroclus' part.
And here it comes in: I don't know if I'm exaggerating, but I've been feeling a little uncomfortable that apparently whenever people think about slavery/master AU in the TSOA fandom, Patroclus is the slave and Achilles is the one who develops an interest in him while having power over him? Like…if it was in the mythological fandom, I wouldn't find it THAT alarming because, in theory, they're both white Greeks originally…but in TSOA…I don't know, I'm finding it an uncomfortable pattern.
Honestly, it wouldn't be the first time that a TSOA fic bothers me racially speaking… there's a very orientalist fic (middle of the desert, belly dancing, veil, everything you're entitled to) with a lot of kudos, so it wouldn't surprise me. There are still some fics with descriptions comparing Patroclus' skin to food too (to clarify: just his. I wouldn't mind if all the characters got comparisons like that, but in those fics it's usually just him. This is funny, considering that in TSOA Achilles himself has all the comparison with olive oil, but that disappears and in the end we have chocolate/coffee for Patroclus).
I'm not saying that the writers are racist/xenophobic or that the fics themselves are (apart from the orientalist fic, because its setting is quite "exotifying" and there's no way the fic itself isn't really stereotypical), but it's a "model" to note. Interestingly, such issues are only in the TSOA tag. Fics that are only from the Hades or Homer tag don't have such things as far as I've seen…anyway, I wanted to hear the opinions of other POC who care about racial dynamics in fandoms.
Oh boy lmao. I appreciate the potential warning lmao, that made me laugh. This a long one. I had to go get my laptop because I couldn't properly encapsulate how i felt using my phone.
My short answer:
My TL;DR of my long answer: Unfortunately, racism is entertainment to a LOT of people as long as it's not blatantly labeled on the box. So I can believe that the pattern is there, though I'm not as active in the fic space anymore.
My long answer:
Okay! I've discussed before how I actually pull from all the canons to make my stories (except for my TSoA specific ones) but you're right! There is a characterization difference in the fandoms, that's for sure. And that makes sense, given the source materials. So separating them isn't a bad thing.
I'm going to be honest with you, giving a white man brown skin is not making him Black, so ethnically ambiguous is the best description for a certain amount of fanarts. I used to be far more lenient about it in my excitement for rep, but after a while it was like... nah, I'm allowed to say I want people to look more accurate if you're going to tell me that's a Black man. BUT no one wants to hear my opinions on that because it makes me the resident meanie Black girl, so I've given up on that. While I love creating my own stuff, I don't actively interact with the fandom anymore unless they interact with me first. It's less hurtful for me. I've seen enough and been in enough situations where I recognize that I am not welcome if I'm not willing to quietly swallow racism (from blatant to subtle) and well... I don't think that's fair to ask of me. So I'm here if anyone wants me, but otherwise... 🤷🏾♀️
I say that to say, I may not be aware of the current dynamics in fics and the space the way you are.
As for mythology's depiction, while I have opposing opinions, I'm not going to argue with you. Afro-Greeks are real. 🤷🏾♀️
I hear what you're saying about the master/slave dynamic. Do they say outright that he is a Black man? Are they using language to suggest that he's 'brown skinned', or some sort of 'exotic' type of man? Is it a part of the exotification in the fic as he is being forced into the slave position? Because then I totally understand where you're coming from with the discomfort. Especially if he's only Black in those fics, but noticeably White in anything else fic wise that doesn't involve that dynamic.
I've talked before about how people tend to make Patroclus the less dominant of the two in the TSoA space, partly from his characterization in the book and partly from fanon taking what they presumed to be weakness in comparison to Achilles and running with it. That combination with a master/slave dynamic AND being Black is awkward for sure, especially coming from the perspective of a Black reader who has that history to consider and wouldn't find it romantic at ALL.
The food comparison is uh... ha. On the one hand, I don't necessarily hate it, but the problem is that people seem to think those are the only two shades of brown that exist lmao. It's lazy. It lets me know as a brown skinned Black reader that you think my skin is inherently 'exotic', 'consumable', or most likely that you don't know what we look like. I once saw a description in a different fandom that described someone's skin color as espresso. That character was a tan Japanese man. like maybe the bubbles at the top of the shot, but CERTAINLY not espresso dark lmao! The same way we can find endless ways to describe pale skin, we can look up shades of brown to care for our Black characters' descriptions because there are A LOT OF SHADES OF BROWN.
To be completely frank, intention does not always equal outcome. Even if those writers did not intend to be racist or xenophobic, they very well could have been regardless. I don't know what fics you're talking about, so I can't speak to if they 'are' or not, but it's not uncommon in fandom for fics and art to contain racism when characters are not white.
A major issue with writing Black characters for nonBlack and White authors is that they likely don't have many (if any) Black peers to consider. They're not thinking of their Black readers or if what they're writing is racist. To them, what they wrote is just 'fun'! They don't recognize how uncomfortable it is when you have a real history with the imagery being depicted. It's why whenever I see some of those arts from... i think it's called Captive Prince? I'm not gonna judge people for reading it, it might be real good! But I'm offput when I see a tiny blond twink holding a large brown skinned man in chains. It's supposed to be sexual, but to me it evokes imagery of Mandigos, despite that being a white man with a tan. Like think about how often you see the reverse. How often do you see a tiny Black twink holding a large White muscle man in chains? Very rarely, if ever! Why is that not deemed fandom sexy? (this is a rhetorical question. i know why.)
There's a long history of Black bodies being sexualized and viewed as objects, and in a master/slave AU or kink dynamic... well. I'm not well versed in kink, so it's not like I can describe exactly what happens in the bedroom. But in fiction I can imagine there would be some tension, if not in the fic, in the Black readers that are reading it. Especially because that has the potential to slip into racism quite easily, written for someone to receive pleasure from said racism. Kink itself is something that should be written with care, AND Romance, AND your Black characters. So... there needs to be some layers of thought!
You can make a Black man/character sexy without treating them like an item. But tbh, that depends on the intent of the writer. If they're not thinking about that, it'll show. And it seems like within those fics you're reading, you're seeing a pattern of the enjoyment of sexualized Blackness and submission. That's actually pretty good! I'm glad you're able to note that.
As for Hades Patroclus, there's probably less interest because he's dark skinned. Colorism and whitewashing are very real things. But let me get off my soapbox. As for the orientalism, it might be a good idea to ask other TSoA Patrochilles writers of color to see how they feel as well, because I can totally believe it's there. Unfortunately, racism is entertainment to a LOT of people as long as it's not blatantly labeled on the box. (And I'm not saying I'm perfect! I'm sure I've read some stuff that I thought was cool that I look back on now and am like "hmm... that's no good.")
So yeah, that's my response to this! I feel like I rambled, but I wanted to give you the thoughts that I had.

Spontaneous Spotlight: Silent Hill's C. B.
Sometimes you don't have enough time or material to make a full series of reviews on something, so when that happens I'll pop out a Spontaneous Spotlight review to cover any short topic that has recently come to my attention. Today we're talking about Silent Hill!
I have debated on whether or not to list SH on my "To-Do" list of franchises to review the creatures of, but those guys have been picked apart so much that I don't have anything new to say. However, new SH content is set to release in the coming years, so that means fresh pickings for me - starting with the face of our newest surprise entry: Silent Hill: The Short Message.
SMG is meant to be a free and easy entry into the Silent Hill Franchise for modern gamers. Reintroducing the surreal, heavy-handed themes and imagery of the series to hint towards what future titles may hold. Taking place in post-Covid Germany of all locations, we follow a girl named Anita as she searches an abandoned apartment complex named The Villa for her friend - a popular street artist named Maya.
Obviously meant to pick-up where P. T. left off, the game is a very blunt suicide prevention PSA which, controversial opinion, really harkens back to the heyday of SH. Corny dialogue from a tortured protagonist with the most perfect art direction in the world with a sick-ass monster design.
Yeah, there's only one monster and it's mostly just for chases, but my god what a monster.
TW: Discussions of Suicide, Suicidal Ideation, Self-Harm, Child Abuse, Bullying, and Body Horror. Spoiler Warning for Silent Hill: The Short Message.
Design: There is no true name for the Monster but the artist who designed them has acknowledged the fan nicknames of "Sakura Monster" and "Cherry Blossom". Cherry Blossom is what I'm sticking to because it ties into the twist of the game, which we'll get to later. Cherry Blossom is a humanoid with nearly accurate proportions to a teenage girl. In fact, it has completely humanoid legs from the thighs to the ankles.
Cherry Blossom is named after the flowers that every Anime nerd knows by memory, the bright pink tree foliage clumps together in a large mass that obscures all skin besides the aforementioned legs. The flowers sprout outwards from the head, making it resemble a bush from the neck up, and grows down the front of its chest (as if it's growing wherever skin would be exposed for someone wearing only a jacket with the front unzipped) and across its waist - making a skirt out of the plants. Miles of black wire seems to be used to secure the flowers onto the creature's "head", limbs, and torso. It appears to be wearing a hoodie, but the fabric is almost too moist to be real clothing. Both its hands and feet deteriorate into jagged potentially wooden spikes which is its main form of attack.
The artist specifically mentioned that they wanted to avoid using blood on this monster, opting instead to incorporate beautiful imagery into something distorted and unnerving. And I think they succeed, it's quite an unnaturally pretty monster but its body plan is so unique and effortless in its execution.
Say what you want about PT's take on the gameplay, but what it severely lacked was a monster that screamed "Silent Hill" while being its own thing like Cherry Blossom. It rivals Pyramid Head in its iconography.
Which makes sense since CB was designed by Masahiro Ito, the designer of old Triangle Hat himself. Check out the guy's twitter, his insight into the workings of Silent Hill's design is awesome. [X]
There he also posted a scrapped monster concept who shares a few details with Sakura Head, especially the way its humanoid legs distort into pegs it walks on like stilts. It's almost like a humanoid with an organic skirt that becomes an indescribable mess of viscera and wires. From a distance some of the loose barbed wire make an almost eye-like shape, with the messed up "upper body" acting like a pupil. It's shoots some of its body mass forward, or maybe it's an oddly shaped proboscis.
The game itself has stellar art direction, especially for the middle chase sequences that play around with the game's industrial motifs due to the protagonist being an artist. I especially love the usage of eyes for one of them, I genuinely suggest playing it just for that one chase in the photo maze. Also remember the corny wall messages written in blood saying "this is hell", they're back.
Symbolism: Anita, our protagonist, is revealed as unsubtlety as the franchise is prone to, to be a survivor of childhood abuse from a mother who saw her children as a curse for existing. Her mother was eventually arrested after her neglect led to Anita's brother dying, the police later finding his body hidden in the fridge. They discovered it after the clear was given to remove the kids from the home (CPS had already been investigating beforehand). Anita would later become friends with Maya and another girl named Amelie, but her trauma led to her growing abandonment issues.
(Pictured Above: Maya, a teenage girl of Asian Descent.) As a child, art was an escape and the only positive connection she had with her mother, but Anita felt upstaged by Maya due to her friend being a popular street artist named Cherry Blossom. CB's art was a combination of beautiful imagery used to express the hidden struggles and wants of teenage girls, which explains why the Sakura Monster looks the way it does.
See this original design for CB, where the hoodie and skirt are more obvious as clothing being worn by the monster. The body was made more organic looking to both increase its monstrousness, but to also make the connection to Maya more abstract. Cherry Blossom is a looming figure born from the art of someone who has everything Anita wants, it's a constant reminder of Maya and how much of a threat she was in Anita's mind. This is combined with how much Anita admired Maya, which only fueled her jealousy when she believed that Maya was trying to steal Amelie from her.
However, it's not Maya reanimated. It's a manifestation built from Anita's subconscious, much like Maria, that exists to torment and corral Anita into facing her issues head on. And I do mean torment and corral, because the game soon reveals that Anita cannot die. Whether it's purposefully ending her life, or failing to escape CB in a chase, if she dies, she's forced to return to a part of The Villa with the memories of her death.
The game plays into this with having in-game deaths be reversed like VHS tapes, with the game's trigger warning page reappearing every time she has to start the entire game all over again. It's later revealed that Anita came to The Villa, not to meet with Maya personally, but to visit the spot where she leapt to her own death years ago. This leads to her making several attempts on her own life to follow Maya's stead, but The Villa refuses to let her escape in any way besides what "it" wants her to do. How the games end once you finally confront all of Anita's traumas and guilt over Maya's suicide, well, I'll leave that to you to find out. However, as an overall experience it really feels like a better reintroduction than the travesty that was Ascension. I feel like, since PT's been deleted for a while now, its gameplay is less intolerable than when every indie game wanted to do PT again in the 2010s and the set pieces make up 70% of the experience. And these are some damn fine set pieces.
This game is all around just beautiful to experience, but you might be left wondering how this ties into Silent Hill...after all, I did mention this taking place in Germany. Silent Hill F, another upcoming game, seems to be taking similar cues to SH:SMG by not only using beautiful imagery for grotesque body horror, but also taking place somewhere away from our fog covered tourist spot.
In-game we are told about "The Silent Hill Effect" through a newspaper clipping, which seems to imply that in the world of Silent Hill the town the game's named after is not as uncommon of an occurrence as we thought. It's definitely its most famous, but the fog seems to venture outside our favorite cultist stomping ground. I would love for SH to take the Biohazard(Resident Evil) route of taking its core concept and expanding on it into new settings. Especially if it means less Bobblehead Nurses and Pyramid Head appearances in the future, put those guys in the retirement home my god.
My theory is that the human consciousness itself can manifest pockets of Silent Hill's phenomenon as long as enough people in one space compound their traumas and miseries into a monster creating mist, further supported by the fact that the original town already had a history of supernatural events and cult activity before the events of the main games.
I guess Silent HILLS isn't completely dead and buried.

I go by many names, but you can call me lee! this blog is for my selfshipping content. I post a variety of different content, both SFW and NSFW, and I do post problematic fiction (and believe that everyone has the right to do the same), but all of it is tagged, so it is avoidable. if you don't like my content, that's okay! simply close this blog or block me. everything I discuss here is fictional and if you condone any dead dove topics in real life, block me.
I'm a xie lian (tgcf) fictive, and I occasionally refer to canon xie lian in first person. I'm in a traumagenic system but I support endogenic systems.

I'm tired, I'm hurt, and I'm scared.
tw below the cut for transphobia, homophobia, and violence:
I never would have thought that this would have happened in a community that has been a major part of my life. I lived in this community for nearly two-thirds of my life.
On Wednesday, June 28, a professor and two students were stabbed during a class discussing gender identity and expression at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. This marks the second motivated hate crime in Ontario in 24 hours. The professor and both students are in serious but non-life-threatening conditions.
There has been a 64% increase in hate crimes targeting the LGBTQ community from 2020 to 2021. This only includes police-reported hate crimes; there is a long, painful history regarding the LGBTQ+ community's distrust towards police and RCMP. Half of these reported crimes include violent cases.
The rise of anti-LGBT hate in Canada has been influenced by many anti-queer movements and popular social media accounts. These accounts promote extremist views in the mainstream for many to see. Some may become radicalized by these accounts and continue to share and encourage extremist opinions to others. Online hate is easily accessible to many, whether it is on the giving or receiving end of it.
Words of such extreme hate ARE violence, verbal and physical.
I personally have seen an increase in online hate regarding the LGBTQ+ community as well as racial minorities in Canada.
Schools are supposed to be a safe place for everyone, from all walks of life to learn, and challenge their thoughts and ways of thinking. Classrooms, especially in post-secondary settings, should not be locked when discussing potentially "controversial" topics. The safety of all is essential, but such topics and issues should NEVER invoke violence.
I've been queer my entire life. I've had to hide various aspects of my queer identity for my own safety. I'm scared to go to pride events for my safety. It angers me beyond belief that this is happening so close to home.
Be loud, be proud, and be safe 💛
#tw homophobia#tw transphobia#tw violence#cdnpoli#onpoli#lgbt#lgbtq#This is really raw and I'm exhausted on so many levels#If you're able to: please consider donating to your local queer centres. They need it more than ever

okay, so. My teacher had me do an essay for school, about any topic I wanted. But. It had to include comic diction, incongruity, and hyperbole. I chose to do it about the man vs bear hypothetical. What do you think? I also want to preface I’m not making a joke or light of victims of sexual violence or bear attacks etc. this is just a school assignment.
TW: Mentions of rape, bear attacks, inappropriate interactions with/from men, and other things similar. Do not interact below the cut if these make you uncomfortable!
Thank you lovelies!! ❤️
The viral hypothetical "Would you rather be stranded in a forest with a man or a bear?" has swept through TikTok and beyond like a hurricane made of confetti and bacon. Originally birthed in a street interview, it's now a staple question for women, igniting more controversy than pineapple on pizza.
Men have been flummoxed by the responses, as women seem to prefer the cuddly embrace of a bear over the potential dangers of a man. Sure, bears are predators, but their mauling habits are statistically rarer than a unicorn sighting in downtown New York. Bears kill for food, not for sport or some bizarre power trip.
Let's break it down: according to Bearvault.com, there have been a whopping 180 fatal human/bear skirmishes in North America since 1784. That's fewer than the number of shoes in a Kardashian's closet. Meanwhile, according to rainn.org, about 1 in 6 women have faced attempted or completed attacks of a sexual nature. It's like comparing a sprinkle of hot sauce to a fire-breathing dragon.
Sure, not all men are out to make your life a living sitcom, but with about 6% of North American men potentially moonlighting as harassers or worse (thanks, amptoons.com), the odds start to stack like pancakes at a Dwayne Johnson breakfast.
Imagine showing up at a party with a bowl of M&Ms where some are laced with nuclear waste. Would you gamble? Every interaction with a man becomes a cosmic lottery with terrifying prizes.
The responses from the male gallery have only poured gasoline on this bear-versus-man bonfire. Some have threatened bodily harm or worse, making Ted Bundy seem like a gentleman caller. Others went full creeper on a 14-year-old who dared choose a human over Ursus Major, forcing her to delete accounts faster than a politician's tweet after midnight.
In the grand scheme, this hypothetical is just fluffier than a cloud made of cotton candy. The answers themselves are as relevant as an inflatable dartboard. But the reasons behind them? That's the elephant in the room tap-dancing to ABBA.
So next time someone pops the question, remember: it's not about the bear or the man. It's about choosing between a fluffy carnivore and a potential nightmare, a bit like choosing between unicorns and man-eating daisies.

𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐄. 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐊, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈'𝐌 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆. ⠀ matthias. twenty-seven. headcanons & u/sfw hub for devised original characters. ⠀private-ish: mutuals-only, but open to becoming mutuals. summary & overview below.
+ 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐄-𝐈𝐒𝐇. I will only engage with mutuals on this blog, however I am open to developing more mutuals, so if you see a plot / headcanon that interests you, please feel free to reach out! since this blog will contain highly explicit and mature themes, I am not willing to write any plot or discuss any headcanon in detail with anyone I have not already been writing with for an extended period of time. that is my boundary, don't push me on it. i am, however, willing to plot and write with new people, so feel free to hmu if you would like to be mutuals. i am semi-selective and write novella length.
+ 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐘 & 𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐍. all in-character explorations must be plot-driven, and ideally intimacy driven. i have no interest whatsoever in non/dubcon and contacting me with request to write either will earn a swift block from me. consent is sexy! intimacy is sexy! i'm here for the low and slow burns; the building and unbearable anticipation. that being said, it does take me awhile to warm up to people. please read my usfw rules before contacting me.
+ 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐒. the entire purpose of this blog is to segregate mature themes from my main blogs/sideblogs. as such, this blog will contain heavy amounts of explicitly mature themes and you should proceed with caution. I will tag all potentially triggering content as tw trigger and label all mature content as u/sfw.
+ 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐒. controversial topics such as inc*st, r*pe, sa of any kind, non/dubcon, dd/lg, and others are not welcome here. do not reach out to me for any of these plots. if you reach out and do not warn me that something you send me contains any of these topics, you will be ghosted and/or blocked. the only controversial topics I'm willing to explore in regards to smut are age difference relationships, because the majority of my muses are middle-aged, and I am very particular about the semantics of the dynamic.
+ 𝐍𝐎 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐒. I don't like to write smut for the hell of it and will only write it on my pre-established muses, as i specifically write it to develop that side of their personalities. please, do not inquire if you aren't cool with that. I have a high preference for quality over quantity, and will be most interested in other muses/muns that fall under the same.
+ 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑. the author of this blog does not endorse, nor sponsor any of the topics mentioned or explored. banned topics are non-negotiable.

READ BEFORE YOU FOLLOW. please be aware of my rules and guidelines for this blog before you follow/interact. failure to follow my rules will have you blocked! ageless blogs will also be blocked on sight. put your age/adult indicator in your bio or pinned post!
CONTENT.
this is a writing blog, and will contain works written by me as well as reblogs of others' works. however, it is a primarily nsfw blog, meaning that i will be writing and interacting with mature and potentially dark content.
these will be TAGGED (format: "tw (tag)" i.e. "tw non-con"), so you're free to mute specific triggers if anything, but please be aware that such content may show up on my blog from time to time.
some content i will write and interact with include: cnc/dub-con, somnophilia, cum play, pseudo-cest, doctor-patient dynamics, teacher-student dynamics, manipulative/obsessive/possessive tropes (eg: yandere)
some content i will NOT write but may interact with include: non con, stepcest, hard incest.
i also only write x afab!reader (she/her pronouns) works. please understand that this is what i'm most comfortable with writing!
i write for the fandoms listed here, and only the characters specified. stray kids, a k-pop idol group, is a fandom that is listed. for works such as blue lock where the original source material writes them as minors, the characters in my works will be automatically aged up to 20+.
you can find a full list of what i write and do not write here.
DO NOT INTERACT IF...
—you are a minor.
if you are a minor (under the age of 18) or if you don't have your age on your blog, then please do not send me asks or interact with me! i block those who do not have an age indicator somewhere on their blog.
—you cannot separate fiction from reality ("omg that's a minor!!").
the fictional characters i write for are just that—fictional. drawings. it may not be 'canon', but a character is still an adult if written as an adult! i am someone who believes that a canon timeskip and a fanfic timeskip should be on equal ground! if you are not comfortable with this, then you are not part of the target audience. please refrain from sending hateful comments, and just scroll past!
—you are anti/hateful/negative.
i am aware that this blog will contain mature and dark content. again, if you are uncomfortable with that, please do not interact; this means you are not part of the target audience! please refrain from sending hateful comments, and just scroll past.
OTHER RULES.
—mdni.
if you are a minor (under the age of 18) or if you don't have your age on your blog, then please do not send me asks or interact with me! i block those who do not have an age indicator somewhere on their blog.
—please respect my work as my own.
DO NOT: steal, copy, repost, reupload, modify, or claim any of my works as your own, regardless of credit given. absolutely do not use my works for AI training and other related purposes.
—if you know me from my main art blog... shhh!
this is a separate blog under a separate alias, and they're being kept separate for a reason! please do not address me here as my other alias, and do not address me on my main blog as roxie! if you know me, hi!! but let's keep it a secret 🥰
—be polite.
—interact with me!
when commenting or sending me an ask, please be nice and use basic manners! use a please when requesting, and don't bring up triggering/controversial topics such as general discourse, politics, suicide, trauma, religion, etc.
i don't address asks i am uncomfortable with addressing, and they will be deleted automatically.
i do still welcome anons, asks, interactions, and requests! please feel free to comment on my posts, talk to me about your days, your thoughts (hard/thirst hours are always open!!), your favorite characters, if you want to be an emoji anon, and all that! <3 i don't bite- i promise !!
—requests are encouraged, but not promised!
while i'll try my best to get to every request, i only write requests i feel like writing. if it's not up my alley, they will probably go unanswered, but please don't take it to heart!
—please be patient with requests.
i am a graduate student with a part-time job, and other side projects lined up. this is just a fun little thing for me to write some nsfw when i feel inspired, so i may get to requests pretty slowly!
—do NOT poke me on your request/WIP status.
AGAIN, some may go entirely unanswered if i don't feel like writing them; or generally, i may get to requests slowly. please understand that i will NOT entertain these messages. this is all free content, and i write because i want to! please have a little respect for that!
—make sure requests are open before you send any in.
if you send a request in my inbox while they are closed, they will automatically be deleted, or i will otherwise answer to tell you to please check my request status again.
—please be specific when you request!
let me know what you want me to write! mention tropes, characters you want, and as many details as you like. don't hold back; i don't mind long asks!
—please do not send me requests for fandoms and/or characters that are not listed here.
if you send a request for a character NOT LISTED, they will automatically be deleted.

i'm here to talk about politics my dudes
specifically, the vaccine controversy
I'm very surprised that people think that a single injection is gonna give their kids a neurological disorder. You can't "catch" autism, because autism is something that you're born with, and is completely based on genetics
Am i telling you that if your child has autism you definetly have it, and that your doctor wasn't actually being petty and just putting it on your documents to call you "retarded"?
No. Of course not. I can't tell you if you have autism or not, i'm not a psychology major. But what i am trying to say here, is that "chemicals" can't alter your child's brain like that
"B-but, they put m-mercury in vaccines"
Jared, you consume a lot more mercury in your daily diet of microwaved fish-sticks and sushi dipped in barbeque sauce than you would if you took your goddamn tetanus shot. Besides, they don't even put mercury in vaccines anymore, because your wife's facebook group was whining so much about it, that they removed all traces of it from vaccines
And saying that you refuse to vaccinate your child because "vaccines cause autism" implies that you would rather have a sick, or dead kid over a completely healthy autistic one. And that makes me fucking sick. Especially considering that i'm autistic myself
To think that people still believe that being the parent of an autistic child is so bad as to be considered a curse, makes my blood boil. What is wrong with you? What is so terrible about having a neurodivergent kid? Is it the money you have to spend on therapy and special tutors? Is it just because they aren't as socially capable as a "normal" kid? Or is it because you'd be embarassed to admit that your child has autism? Embarassed to be seen with your own son or daughter in public because they're "defective"?
"I don't have the money to pay for little Timmy's therapy"
Oh yeah? Then how can you afford his school? How can you afford a car, or public transport to get him there? How can you afford a pediatrician? How the fuck can you afford all of that, but not have enough money for a therapist?
Either you really are in a miserable position right now, or you're just too prideful to admit your own greedyness and biggotry
I know i led my followers to believe that this was just another meme and slapped them in the face with all of this pent up rage, and i'm sorry for that
But i don't know what other way there is to get my posts any attention
My opinion isn't for everyone, and i know that. But if it is for you, it would make my day if you reblogged this
Thank you so much for your patience, and i hope all goes well for you today
Peace out
#tw opinions#tw potentially controversial topics#i wanna start a disscusion here#pro vaxx#pro having brain cells actually

update! we had the meeting. we requested a 45-60 minute long meeting. it was almost two hours. there was a lot of stuff that we would have organized differently. asexual ppl were mentioned by name. aromantic folks were, but only when i responded to an audience participation question in a section that largely consisted of "would you date X type of person / in X relationship style" and i was like "i do not date".
so. hm. there was significant, healthy discussion about polyamory, open relationships, ace with an allo relationships, and "oh yeah some ppl don't want to date, and they may identify as aromantic. good for you. now, next situation, would you date -"
edit: tags fixed. tumblr stop not letting me use quotation marks in tags challenge. why does that royally fuck all tags up.
lmao so my queer student org is setting up a future meeting with a sex-positive organization that does informational sessions on various sex/relationship topics
in an email today, they were asking if we had any specific topics they'd like us to cover wrt queer/trans folks for the healthy relationships portion... esp for "aromatic" and asexual folks
#aro#aromantic#actually aro#actually aromantic#text#update#reblog#*sigh*#let me dream that it could have gone well#it was a decent section to like 15-20 minutes#and largely like... it was a no judgement#just reply with your truth and we'll discuss a little about each at the end#you basically put a stamp thingy in or outside of a yes circle / no outside#statements were like: id date someone w an std. id date in an open relationship. id feel comfortable disclosing to my so if i have an std#or: id date an asexual person. i think jealousy is a normal emotion in relationships.#and lemme tell you that last one was Controversial#most ppl put their icon firmly on the border between yes and no#or just barely or out of it#i was the only one in the yes zone on the grounds of all emotions are normal to some degree so long as you manage them in healthh ways#vs the majority said in an ideal relationship there should be ZERO jealousy ever but that realistically it happens and....#maybe it's the nd in me but that's... a yes?#oh also they SUPER did NOT establish a tw before jumping from sex to sudden abuse statistics - we are heavily encouraging in our feedback#that they should establish sectional topics and create a breakout room for folks who'd like to not listen to that section#so when they finish that potentially triggering subject they can close the breakout room and bring ppl back but still provide space in the#virtual settings we're limited to

🥀 Red Velvet x Black Raisin 🥀
tw: some violence included / toxicity
topics: comfort, harm
requested by @silverthedelta !! this may not be my best interpretation but hopefully you enjoy reading. This is more of a platonic / toxic relationship.
When it comes to these two, it’s ride or die. Their relationship is intense. Most likely to be a love-hate relationship. Secretly, they’re dating. Nobody knows about their relationship until you spot them having conversations with each other and start to giggle. It’s hard to catch them holding hands, which it’s definitely rare, unless if you become lucky enough to catch them.
You get a weird vibe/aura from these two when they’re in synced. sometimes, you’ll catch them staring into your soul. they are bound to judging you without saying anything. It’s definitely turns into tough situation when it comes to these two. However, there’s no way you can’t escape it.
Red Velvet:
- he is the dominant one of the relationship. needless to say he can be aggressive towards his partner (depends on the mood)
- he is an Aries. While this sign is symbolized for ‘war’, they are most fond of violence and crave victory. that’s why his line “I’ll rip you to pieces” represents that tone or behavior.
- Tough love? You have to convince him to show him that you can be submissive towards him. In order to crave that attention, you must obey his orders at all cost.
- There are most situations where he will claim to be always right and have an excuse or a counter argument to everything. Don’t try to find other ways to get him to agree with you. Literally anything you try to get him to agree with it’ll turn into a controversy, then turning it into threat
- When seeing Black Raisin injured or witnesses her being crumbled to the core, he releases his inner-monster form. He will aggressively pounce on you and shrivel you up for trying to hurt his partner.
- Red Velvet expects to be complimented for his dedication. When Black Raisin tries to compliment him, it’ll make him blush and notices that she has that tendency to hesitate, getting her to calm down, replying, “ok, don’t overwork yourself”
Black Raisin:
- Black Raisin can sometimes be timid when admitting her feelings towards Red Velvet. She doesn’t want words to come out the wrong way, but wants to keep the relationship between them private and confidential
- She hates when Red Velvet bullies her for their own mistakes, which makes her flustered. But it’s the only way to make herself realize that she is no mere weakling
- When sending herself into a slumber, she finds herself slowly leaning against Red Velvet’s left side (his monster-like cake arm), getting himself to wrap his arm around her, brushing her hair from strand to strand
- Black Raisin gives a little peck on the cheek from here and there. She always tries to strike for that perfect moment on the lips, but fails to succeed.
- Her zodiac sign would be a Leo. Unlike other Leo’s, she is compassionate through her natural-leadership skills, therefore plays a very strict role to her sign. At the same time, she seeks to find that special someone who commonly shares emotional experiences and passions. Thanks to Red Velvet, she’s slowly starts to build that “trustworthiness” towards him. Even if it’s takes a hard slap on the back to get him to knock up some sense.
- She is not so used to getting compliments when she receives them. She really doesn’t know how to process them, as if it really appeals to her, making the poor thing blush to death and determines every single phrase of it.
Red Velvet, coming back from going against an ally of rookie cookies. They stood no chance against him. As he remained inevitable. Praising himself as a royal leader/commander. He was very worthy of it but at times it would get to a point where he’d overstep his boundaries. Every time Black Raisin had to hear him praise himself being the man that she had to deal with, it potentially became a problem. She was used to the fact that selfishly giving himself the praise he dedicated towards himself made her realize if she was good enough for him.
Red Velvet: You should’ve have seen me in battle, my dear. I was victorious compared to those weakling cookies. They were such cowards that I had to show them who they were battling against.
Black Raisin: And yet, you still continue to rub it against my face?
Red Velvet: *scoffs* Why the long face? Aren’t you proud of yourself for falling in the hands of a cake-monster hybrid?
Black Raisin: I would be if you didn’t turned out to be so stubborn to yourself.
Red Velvet: And what in pray tell does that mean? Someone is coming off as jealous.
Black Raisin: How is this relationship working for us? I know keeping this between us was the best mistake from letting others figure out why we are seeing each other. You aren’t the Red Velvet I knew from the beginning. I knew you were some narcissistic mischief that I would call you as my so-called boyfriend?
Red Velvet: Hey! You don’t even know who you are dealing with. The “cast-shadow” you describe yourself shows no dignity to my efforts. You were the one who ran to me and I took you along to show you what ‘power’ really means. Seems like someone is deciding to turn their back against me.
Black Raisin: Look who’s trying to put words into my mouth…
Red Velvet: I don’t care. I am a cookie who requires praise and loyalty and you Black Raisin Cookie disobeyed me for that! Now I am going to show you what true power I really have to prove you wrong!
Red Velvet, swinging his cake-monster arm brutally, slashing across Black Raisin’s face into multiple scars. Black Raisin losing her balance as she faints onto the floor, in critical pain. The pain was so deep that she was unconscious. Realizing that Red Velvet had witnessed a warrior of his own, like a Princess who had lost a battle against him. Heavy tears started to rush down his crimson red cheeks, streaming as teardrops hitting the floor. He rushes over to pick up the wounded cookie. He didn’t mean it, but yet, it made him upset and guilty for mortified pain he’s done. Carrying the delicate cookie into his arms, hugging her tightly. Again, coming into realization that she’s a delicate woman with a missing limb. Does this call himself a ‘coward’ for it? The answer for him, yes. He could relate to the fact that born and given the arm of a cake-monster had changed everything for him. He thought living disabled would be ‘hopeless’. But for Black Raisin, it didn’t occur to her. No matter if she was fully baked with a missing arm, that crumbled to pieces, she still remained immortal.
He begs himself to accept for the fact that he was sorry and wished for her to accept his apology. He may have gone overboard with his self-appreciation, but yet, he’s still learning on how to approach to Black Raisin and give her his wisdom. Red Velvet lightly pressing his lips on her forehead and aiding her with treatment. He loved the innocent thing to death. But once you activate his anger, it starts to annihilate. Thus, this man is bound to go through trauma from here and there, which effects from his past life when he was given strength from Dark Enchantress Cookie, leaving him feel abandoned by his peers. However, he wasn’t used to getting much compliments as before until Dark Enchantress Cookie started to put him in the center of attention of things.
(( yooo I know this was long. But hear me out, putting so much effort in this in between working both of my jobs was a struggle for me, but I did enjoy writing this!! ))

[ ***WARNING***: NOT for the faint of heart. TW: suicidal thoughts. TW: depression. TW: Redaraina?? Sorry y'all, my brain is an angst-y mood, and I'm really trying to explore more controversial topics like Redaraina. Pic from @melbob26-blog ]
He's been in a state of << n u m b n e s s >> since the moment he held her lifeless body in his arms as warm blood pooled onto the street.
His eyes have been bone dry, but his body has been slowly drowning from the inside out. And as he grips the photo in his hand--a memory he had no idea he had absconded with-- he finally reaches his breaking point.
The damn had burst, and the tears flowed down his eyes. The weight of what he had lost finally crushing his soul as he stared down a glimpse into a past, of a relationship that had so much potential. A fleeting moment when he had been truly happy and at peace.
The photo was the symbol of everything he had ever wanted in life. To be the father he always dreamed of being to the baby girl he gave birth to. It was the only time his life had ever truly made sense.
And of course he had to lay ruin to it all. And what for? To protect his precious daughter? Well, he had failed miserably at that. All he managed to do was bring death and destruction into her life until....
It was his fault. His past. His selfish decision to enter her life. His refusal to tell her the truth. Everything he had devoted his life to. His entire life's work, ended by a single bullet that he should have seen coming.
All of it had been for nothing. The sacrifices he made. Giving her up. Lying to her. Ruining the relationship he had cultivated over 8 years. Pushing her to into the darkness.
His entire reason for living was gone. There was nothing left for him here anymore.
He never deserved to be her father anyway. Fathers were supposed to protect their daughters. He was nothing more than a << f a i l u r e >>.

Hi, Jen! I have a close friend who has a potentially controversial take, and I’m wondering if you had any thoughts.
She thinks it’s dangerous to talk about darker topics in MG/YA fiction—things like poor mental health and stuff that could be triggering, even if it’s just (TW) digging nails into skin or something. She’s worried younger people will end up imitating those actions, even if they’re portrayed as bad. Maybe they wouldn’t think to do something like that if they didn’t read about it.
Obviously, it’s bad to glamorize harmful behavior, but what do you think about simply discussing it in MG/YA?
I think lots of kids deal with hard topics and situations in the course of their lives, and it would be disingenuous to lie about that in fiction. Kids might have parents and siblings who are addicts, or who are neglectful, or abusive, or who deal with mental health challenges, or any number of other things -- they see a lot. Obviously not every book needs to deal with ALL of this stuff, or even MUCH of this stuff - but if you are handling it in an age-appropriate way, I don't think it's A BAD THING to be truthful about the fact that there is darkness and not-very-nice stuff in the world. Particularly if your book is giving kids that may experience some of that some HOPE and TOOLS that they might use to deal with it.
So like - if you were suggesting in a YA book that a good way to deal with anxiety or depression or PTSD or something is by *cutting yourself* -- that it makes you feel better! And is ultimately great and useful! Then that would be a problem. But if you were showing that a certain teen is dealing with things in harmful ways, like cutting themselves, but that was NOT helpful, and then they learned some BETTER ways to deal... that might be fine.
Obviously, the younger age a book is for, the lighter the touch should be. Teens can typically make their own book choices and are often drawn to more intense material; some YA is very dark indeed! But no parent wants their 9 year old to read about people cutting themselves.
For ways to deal with hard topics in a more kid-friendly way, take a look at some mentor texts. Like THE SEVENTH WISH, by Kate Messner, a MG magical realism book in which a girl's sister is an opioid addict. Or CHIRP, by Kate Messner, which is a MG mystery, with a "me-too" storyline. FISH IN A TREE by Lynda Mullaly Hunt is about a girl with undiagnosed dyslexia who can't read but is good at hiding it, and has themes of bullying, etc. OUT OF MY MIND by Sharon Draper is about a girl with Cerebral Palsy, who is brilliant but nobody can see it, and the issues surrounding that. GHOST by Jason Reynolds is about a kid who has anxiety/PTSD because of childhood trauma but learns to harness it. There are LOTS of great MG books that tackle intense topics and manage to make them kid-appropriate, helpful, and ultimately hopeful, rather than harmful.

hi everyone! I figured it's a good idea to say this now rather than later, and I'd like to thank the people involved who politely helped me to move on with this. as you may know, I wrote a book named 'intoxicating' (which has now been taken down for obvious reasons that will be addressed in this post) and featured an incestuous relationship. the original purpose of the book was to write the course of someone's life as she realised that her father had groomed her (intentional or not) and tried to fight back against it. i was inspired by lolita, which I though, as controversial as it was, offered an insight into the mindset of a groomer. my plans for the story were to take on a similar route that lolita had (from the child's pov) and use nsfw/tw topics along with it. the plan was not to encourage, romanticise, support or portray the relationship in a light any way other than what it is - disgusting.
however, over the course of writing it, the original intention was lost upon me. i made the mistake of forgetting what the original intention was and instead wrote it how it is - something horrific and something that I truly regret. saying that I don't support pedophilia, grooming and incest while posting that obviously would've put out conflicting evidence, and I apologise for that.
as some of you have pointed out, I did respond 'positively' to comments that supported the incestuous relationship. however, this was more so a persona (to encourage readers that I was a nice person rather than a reserved writer and unrelated to the topic that I was writing) as I use with all my other works. i use that persona even with my normal books such as paradise and throne, which can be seen in the comments.
I am not avoiding responsibilities for my actions when I say this though. I am just trying to put out all the facts so that you understand rather than avoid responsibility. over the course of my writing the book, I was blinded by the comments and readers apparent like for the nsfw that had been included (for the sake of the plot and to describe the horrors of the relationship). again, not me putting the responsibility onto the readers. I shouldn't have been encouraged by what they said and should've stuck to the original plot and continued on. hell, I shouldn't have even responded to th m and let them convince me. I'm not blaming my readers, rather just explaining where it went wrong.
for the past two or three months, I've been reconsidering the book. I realised that I had lost the original plot and it was now something completely different and that it could be interpreted that I was romantising the relationship rather than making something that would allow an insight into such relationships and how messed up they are. I stopped writing it while trying to understand where it went wrong while still responding to the comments, which is why it went on a hiatus. I wanted to reeducate myself on the matter too, rather than just keep going with the 'eh, I'll wing it mindset'. recently, I came to the conclusion that I'd let the original plan slip from between my fingers and let it become what it is now - something that potentially glorifies the relationship.
i regret writing it in the first place and for thinking that I could manage the task of writing it true to the original plot (which didn't glorify, romanticise or encourage the relationship). not for a moment did i ever want to do such a thing, and i take full responsibility for my actions. as a content creator, I understand that I am expected to create content that overall isn't as horrific as what i ended up making, and I sincerely apologise for that. I took it down and i will not be representing that kind of community again. me reposting the post that said that I disapproved of such behaviour was me attempting to take a step forward and move on from my past mistakes, though I realise that the timing between me reposting that post and taking down the book wasn't done well and allowed for more miscommunications. i sincerely apologise, I really do, and I hope that you will forgive me for making this mistake. i truly had no intention to create the content that I did and tried to put a stop to it, though obviously that isn't enough. I am making a change to the way that I act on these platforms and I hope that you'll support me through this, though if you choose not to, I wholeheartedly understand and thank you for even reading this far.
i hate that it took so long for me to come to these conclusions and thank you to everyone who tried to communicate these to me, even if I originally responded negatively. i have grown from the person that used to make that kind of content alongside my normal ones (throne and paradise) and I hope that you will understand and forgive me for the things that I have done. if you choose not to, I wholeheartedly understand. thank you for reading this!

Hey! You! Yeah you!
Welcome to this blog! Mostly I post when I have the energy, so my schedule will be a bit hectic (apologies if that's not something you enjoy!)
Here I dump my silly ideas, headcanons, and whatnot. I do imagines via asks too! My inbox is always open, and if you're not sure about what I'll make imagines for, I'll try and find a convenient way to list them! (For now, just feel free to ask! I'm open to many fandoms.)
With prompts I am given there's no set determination for what will be a headcanon list or a drabble (UNLESS you specify you want one or the other.) Mostly I use what gives me the most ideas the easiest, or if I feel one thing better suits the ask than another.
And now, as per most blogs like this, here is what I WILL write for imagines/asks:
Suggestive things/NSFW, but this is highly dependent on my mood and it may take a while to get to these types of asks. It will be under a read more and given adequate warning for what comes with it.
AUs of any kind, however I am entitled to decline an ask if I simply am not acquainted with the AU.
Most kinds of sensitive media (readers with mental illness, etc.) I may or may not tweak the prompt I'm given, depending on how comfortable I am getting descriptive or graphic — this mostly applies to sensitive topics such as death or the yandere trope.
And what I WON'T write (for imagines/asks):
Any type of ask pertaining to an eating disorder.
Controversial media; characters or the reader being discriminatory of any kind.
Harry Potter, RPF, anything that has roots in racism, bigotry, or ableism.
I try to tag posts with potentially triggering content as much as possible! But if I miss something, or you're upset by something I've posted, please let me know through either my inbox or DMs! Your comfort is important to me, and I will make a tag for you that works for you to blacklist. And please don't feel bad about asking! It's a small thing I can do to make this place as comfortable for you as possible :)
I blacklist tag things in two ways, mostly: tw [x content] and // [x content], so if there is something that you don't enjoy seeing please filter them!
And as a DISCLAIMER: Anything that I write for that involves subjects such as murder, violence and the like I DO NOT CONDONE in real life. Everything I write is purely fictitious and the content within does not reflect on my moral values. If this is something that still bothers you — that someone who is comfortable writing this type of content — please acknowledge the blacklist system, ask for something to be tagged, or simply don't interact with either the post or the blog. Thank you in advance for understanding.
CURRENTLY I MAINLY WRITE FOR! (This will be updated as needed):
• Pokemon and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
• Object Shows!
