What's wrong with wrestlefesthq and why should we avoid it?

i’m so sorry for the slow answer! this ask was from earlier this month but i rarely pop on this blog anymore unless i’m updating lists.

i have never been in the group or its former group (behindthecurtainrpg) so i can’t speak from direct experience. i tend to be wary of groups with no limit on roles especially when role hogging (aka someone coming on the dash once every 3-5 days to post one or two things and never really engaging with anyone) is a reoccurring issue in wrestling rps. even if you’re online all hours of the day, keeping 10+ muses active is just impossible.

i also see the group posting their anons in the tags about how welcoming it is and how much everyone interacts with each other, yet there’s frequent reminders on their main to reach out and include everyone. i just see it as a red flag personally.

i have more to say about how it’s ran, but i always said i would avoid negative vibes on this blog as much as possible. to sum it up though, there is a trend for groups to be given up on only for a new one to open days later. it can be really discouraging for a member to feel like they need to start from scratch over and over.

unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of options for wrestling rp groups on tumblr anymore :( my honest feeling is that a lot of us got burnt out by the same issues over and over.

I’ve just started getting back into wrestling and want to explore wrestling roleplay. Any advice for a beginner? Do you prefer group roleplays or indie? And are they usually application-based or more relaxed?

i'm sorry, i'm just seeing this now and saw it was from 5 days ago!!

it takes trying some different options to figure out what you like (i tried discord rp once, i've had some 1x1s, and i've been in a lot of groups). i enjoy group rps when they're well run. unfortunately, there aren't a lot of wrestling group options on tumblr right now. in fact, i think it's down to only one.

i can't speak to the indie side of things since i haven't done it myself. i've seen some of the blogs in the tags and i know people who have wrestling-focused indie blogs on here. from what i heard, it can be difficult to get into as a newcomer because this community is VERY small and there are naturally close friends, little circles of people, etc.

my suggestion to a beginner would be to try out a group (they do have applications, but they're very basic and overall relaxed). you will naturally find people that you click with and have compatible writing styles with. that's how i met most of the people i write with and have had 1x1s with since we've vibed well in groups and wanted to explore other plots and characters on our own!

hi there!! i know this is an older ask, i've been meaning to circle back to it.

when i made the banned list, i tried my best to research all of the claims of someone not wanting to be rped. to be honest, i never found anything for anyone by searching twitter, reddit, etc. i did see a lot of fellow roleplayers claiming that skye has 'said multiple times she doesn't want to be rped'. just haven't found proof from skye herself.

so, that being said, it's really your call. i try to list the ones who multiple have said don't like to be rped. whenever i find proof for any of them, i'll definitely be updating the list!

as someone who is no longer active within the tumblr roleplay scene, i would've loved a non kayfabe group that encouraged in depth writing and took their members seriously when it came to them coming forward about hate (even if it meant losing a member)

i’m at a point where i’d take quality over quantity. i just miss really writing!! the anon hate and other drama has been a huge problem on tumblr. it’s made me almost want to quit altogether.

An actual Tumblr group that won't collapse after a week would be amazing. I can't join anything that is available at the moment because I don't have a Discord account. I spend 60% of the workweek on the go and Tumblr is easier for me personally.

it seems like there’s a big lack of tumblr groups today, but it’s good to know people are still looking for them and it’s not just me!! longevity has been a big problem with all rps. i think a lot of people panic when things slow down after opening. groups in the past that have pushed on during that lull have really lasted a long time and we haven’t had a group like that in awhile 😔

Hi there! CLEAREDHQ is a semi-au wrestling hybrid roleplay taking place across Discord and Tumblr where major activity takes place on Discord with Tumblr being used for further character development such as long form drabbles, character biographies, aesthetics, and musings.
