To all the guys saying "you shouldn't date a Bi girl 'cause you won't be able to satisfy her and she'll cheat on you" her being bi had nothing to do with your inability to satisfy her, and it won't have anything to do with my ability to satisfy her 🤣

*Yeets my hc's of my au Orchid Jewelries.*
I am obsessed with the idea of Sookie being a kind-hearted sister towards Charlotte, and also scenarios of Sookie and Lawrence meeting Clarence and their reactions.:
While I know that Charlotte is distant from others (Lawrence and Maire, I wouldn't be surprised about Wick.) Yet my brain did not feel reluctant upon throwing it under my face lol.
Imagine Sookie, despite knowing how much of a spoiled personality Charlotte is, still continues treating her well and invites her to her house and having a chat over relaxing tea and sweets. She even offers to comfort Charlotte whenever she feels she has a bad day or whatsoever. (Sookie being the mother hen she is.)
Like I know Charlotte is jealous of Sookie having a family. However Sookie on the other hand has an opposite reaction to this, like perhaps she could teach Charlotte about good values, how to be kind to others, or how to have humility and handle rejection. While she knows she can't force Charlotte about it, at least she has a reason why she's doing this to her. It'll take a long time for Charlotte to build up trust and maybe develop as a person.
She wants Charlotte to not end up like her when it comes to dating someone, or per say having a boyfriend. Sookie fears Charlotte wouldn't handle being treated miserably like Sookie was when was formerly married, thus Sookie divorced her husband due to finding out he slept with another woman at night.
(Another reason why Sookie lives separately with her daughter.)
Hence I can totally see Sookie not approving Clarence dating Charlotte because she's not sure if Clarence would treat Charlotte alright or rather be loyal to her and not cheat her with another woman. Imagine Sookie giving Charlotte a pep talk like “Listen, I am happy that you date someone… But I don't want to sound like Mother, however please try to talk to your boyfriend about it? Please?”
Off topic but if Lawrence meets Clarence (I dunno if Charlotte is official with Clarence) then he absolutely disapproves of him dating Charlotte. Lawrence gets strict and overprotective when it comes to his siblings dating someone, depending on the person.
Lawrence is an uptight law-abiding man like Wick but far more harsh, when finding out Clarence owns a distillery he absolutely does not allow Charlotte to be with Clarence at all. Even if the two attempted meeting up privately, that did not stop Lawrence finding ways to get rid of Clarence. (Charlotte would 100% wouldn't like how Lawrence is now treating Clarence.)
Lawrence literally holds more power than Clarence and I do mean he can have the power to yeet Clarence to jail if he tried hurting Charlotte or one of his siblings. No matter how much evidence Clarence tried to hide or fabricate it with lies it won't be successful at all, so I can imagine he is trying his best not to shake underneath his shoes whenever Lawrence is glaring at him.
Clarence: I am dating your sister, so I am soon going to be your 'brother-in-law'.
Lawrence: Moreso you're going to be 'no-longer-my-brother-in-law'. *Holds a bunch of files of evidence, and handcuffs he got from who knows.*
Edit: I had fun writing this btw, I didn't included Maire to this cause she pretty much doesn't care about whoever Charlotte is dating.
Okay have a good day/Night!
I mean, if parts of the family reached out to Charlotte, I doubt Charlotte would turn them down (outside of maybe Wick) just to be polite. I do admire Sookie's efforts, but when it comes to Charlotte I think she needs a stronger motivation. In the main fic, this comes in the form of Silver and Silver's ex husband, Silver never bending to Charlotte's BS, and Valentin, whom Charlotte almost cheated with, being revealed to have cheated and tried to "run away" with many other women in the past, only to abandon them. Nearly becoming one of those women really woke Charlotte up, I would say. Though after the fact I imagine she'd understand what Sookie was trying to do previously and be grateful to her.
I don't think Clarence is a cheater. I do think, in a very annoying way, he is very dedicated to Charlotte when she's still petty and wants a leg up on others. Making the couple, I really wanted them to be that annoying couple who, therefore, always shows off to people and always has the other's back, even when the other is being nasty. Not to say Clarence is good, of course, considering he is homophobic and encourages Charlotte to be terrible, but I do think he's dedicated to Charlotte either way.
I am not sure Lawrence's actions would help the situation either, as it'd just make Charlotte feel more like it's "Clarence and her against the world". Plus, with the variety of people Clarence knows, I think it'd be difficult to keep him in jail, and, even if Lawrence managed it, I doubt Clarence would be treated poorly there. If anything, whenever Clarence gets out, Lawrence would just encourage Charlotte to do what she thought she was doing with Valentin and run away/disappear with Clarence. It's an interesting dilemma indeed.
Though, in the main fic, Charlotte does come around, I am not yet certain who she dates at that point. That being said, I think she works on her internalized biphobia and ends up dating another woman. Probably law-abiding for the most part.
Thank you for sharing, I adore the family dynamics we have going on here.

Unpopular opinion but performative statements like "bi people are great" don’t actually do anything to show your support for bi people unless you’re also actively tackling biphobia in your own communities.

Whether or not I ever get to (e.g. through a cinema relay) see Frank & Percy I am so grateful to it for:-
a) all the lovely bits and pieces of info and the photos of Roger and Ian and the interviews and just knowing they’re having such a wonderful time.
(more below, mild spoilers gathered from reviews)
b) representation of queer love in older people , specifically two men in this case. There isn’t anywhere near enough of this, involving any gender(s).
c) containing representation (in Roger’s character) of an *older bi person having their first queer relationship when over 65*. Which I don’t think I’ve encountered any representation of at all outside fanfic, even though as far as I’m aware this is actually fairly common in real life. I mean, insert here my usual rant about how a lot of cishet people have got themselves more or less comfortable with completely gay people, who can genuinely and enthusiastically say “love is love” when those are the circumstances, but are still horribly uneasy when it comes to bi people, especially bi people who turn round when over 50 after decades of apparently straight relationships and go “no actually I like people of the same gender too” and act on it. I mean, there are any number of stories in tv and film that I think would be told very differently if that weren’t the case. There’s a reason why fandom gets feral over middle-aged (and older!) close same-gender friends who would work brilliantly as a couple. ;-)
d) the mental image of Roger Allam in glittery shorts. Even if I never get to see it, it’s just a beautiful one to have in my head. :D
One thing I definitely can do at some point is buy the script book, and I’m awfully tempted to. :-)

My twt has been rampant with biphobia, especially towards bi women with partners of the opposite assumed sex, so just dropping by to say that I will kill every biphobes on sight. Idc if the bi chick's boyfriend sucks, then you get pissed at the boyfriend, not the bisexual woman, because she inevitably gets the worst part of the treatment, not strangers

certain corners of the jayvik shipping community erasing jayce's love for mel and insisting it was never real is frustrating for various reasons
the first (and imo most concerning) is the casual disregarding of mel's character and relationship (a black woman as a primary love interest! something that is unfortunately not as common as it should be!), falling not only into the incredibly common misogynistic fandom tendency to dismiss/demonise women who "get in the way" of mlm ships, but also into the misogynoir of the "disposable black girl" trope - something i implore you to research and consider not only when interacting in fandom spaces but also when critiquing the show itself and its treatment of mel/sky. similar sort of issues come with people dismissing mel's affection for him as manipulation when she's arguably far less manipulative than viktor (gestures @ the whole "he was the person who set jayce on this path the entire time" bombshell), their relationship was always mutually beneficial, and we're shown her perspective multiple times without their relationship ever being portrayed as insincere. how is it not manipulative for jayce to use mel's influence to become a councillor and push heimerdinger out etc, but it's manipulative for mel to make suggestions about the usage of hextech? would you think the same way about these actions if it were viktor doing them?
second of all: insisting that jayce's love for his literal girlfriend must be fake because he's in love with a man feels so oddly strict and binary for such a queer fandom/ship. if paralleling viktor and mel's scenes leads you to interpret his relationship with viktor as romantic, then surely his relationship with mel must still be romantic too for that comparison to make sense? bisexual erasure is especially prevalent when it comes to men and male characters (due to biphobic and misogynistic beliefs about bisexuality being "a women's sexuality" caused by "female promiscuity" or some archaic bullshit like that). insisting that he can only love one and not the other, and then dismissing his affections for mel if you decide he loves viktor, also just reeks to me of the "pick a side" mentality and, again, is weirdly monogamous for such a queer fandom. i realise this may sound like a reach to some people since jayce isn't explicitly canonically bi, but i still think it's a good idea to be cautious about how you have these discussions and any implications they may have, especially if it impacts a real life community that already regularly faces erasure
tl;dr you can be a jayvik liker and also be normal about mel medarda and meljay. please for the love of god be normal about mel medarda and meljay.

Something I wish people would understand is that going "Well all men, literally every single one of them, is useless and evil and misogynistic and we don't need any of them" just means that. You will end up blaming women. If they get abused by men. Because you didn't need to involve yourself with a man, don't you know that all men are dangerous, what's wrong with you, what did you expect, this is partly (if not completely) on you for willingly cAvORtiNg with a man.
I shouldn't have to explain why putting the blame of abuse or assault on the victims is incredibly fucked up and unhelpful and just. Inhumane behavior.
Saying this completely seriously without nuance also means that you are essentially telling straight women (and bisexual women who happen to fall in love with a man, which, contrary to what people seem to think, is NOT THE SAME THING AS A STRAIGHT WOMAN!!!!!) that they cannot be trusted to pick a "good" relationship (silly girl, how can I believe you have any kind of brain in your head at all if you would fall in love with a man, the fact that you would dare to stoop so low means there's something wrong with you), and that whatever kind of relationship they have with their romantic partner in this context is inherently toxic and awful and meaningless.
Like. Idk y'all!! I'm tired of people making everything about men too, and people get waaaaay too bent out of shape by women bemoaning the patriarchy by making offhand comments about being frustrated by men. But most people do not actually mean "I hate every single man who has ever existed, they are all equally awful and dangerous to me and to every woman." And when people DO actually mean this, when it actually is a blanket hatred of every man forever, so much of the time it's just further used as a way to hate on women, and I wish we talked about that more!

If your reaction to bisexual women being frustrated about the way we are talked about and treated by some lesbians in the community is to bring up the rates at which bi women face IPV/DV and then blame us for it and say that "Bi women put themselves in those situations", you're legit a victim blaming piece of shit and I think you should get hit by a bus

I am, as you could totally never guess from my name, yet another pride flag combiner
Requests are open!
You can either ask for a pride flag mashup, where I'll combine colors and try my best to make it all one cohesive flag,
Or a pride flag lineup, where I will line up all the flags in an order that I think looks good
DNI of you're a: fart(terf), MAP/pedo, superstraight, aphobic/biphobic/panphobic/any kind of phobic, racist, ect. I don't support hate here!
If you send me a request and I don't get to it right away, I'm not ignoring you! It's just that I run way to many blogs and I may be posting on one of those, or I could be trying desperately to make your mashup and/or lineup look good, or I'm just like, reading or something.
Feel free to use any flags I make in pfps or blog banners or posts or whatever, just tag me if you use it here on Tumblr
Tags I'll use:
#flag mashup: for when I do flag mashups
#flag lineup: for when I do flag lineups
#request: for combinations that are requested
#felt like it: for combinations I just wanted to make
#my flags: for combinations I make of my own flags
Hopefully making this list of tags I'll use will actually keep me accountable to actually use them lol
#not a combination: posts that don't have flag mashups or lineups
#big combination: combos that have more than 3 flags
#check the reblog for og flags: self explanatory, if I hit image attachment limit for everything I attached to a post and I run out of room for all the original flags, I'll reblog it with the og flags
#the reblog: I don't think I need to explain
My identities (I have quite a few of them): myrromantic, ageosexual, cupiosexual, I may also be demisexual but I'm not sure, omnisexual and omniromantic, and also genderfluid. Feel free to ask me about my labels if you want to know what they mean or how I found out which ones I was. I use any pronouns and I'll come up with a moderator nickname for me here later
^ also shout-out to anyone who is multi-label like me because finding all the right micro labels is HARD
So uhh yeah that's about it, feel free to send me requests :3

Advice when reading theatre reviews
(NB: this is subjective, and I’m not a theatre reviewer, I’ve just been reading reviews and getting exasperated at them for a long time. I also watch a lot of theatre online via marquee and NTAtHome and Globe Player and things, and used to go to theatre a lot when I could...)
1. I tend to assume the Guardian reviewers all knock one star off out of principle, so a 3 star review from them is a 4 star review and so forth. Sometimes this is especially obvious, when the star rating just doesn’t seem to be related to the details of the review (and the star rating is usually clearly the more negative).
2. There are fairly well-attested rumours that in the case of some negative reviews, the reviewers haven’t actually seen the play, or that they pre-wrote the review and then ignored anything that contradicted what they had already written. Things I regard as warning signs of that:-
- they claim that there’s no chemistry between two actors whose characters are attracted to each other. Be particularly suspicious if a) a lot of other, more detailed reviews claim there is actually lots of chemistry, b) the characters are queer (especially bi) and/or over 40 and/or are played by POC.
- they have singled out one or two of the younger actors as bad at understanding the text (especially in Shakespeare or other Early Modern plays). This is far infinitely likely to be nonsense and a sign that the critic didn’t watch the play if the actor is Black, working-class, a woman, queer, and/or trans.
- in general there are just... really broad, obvious criticisms. A play is too complex or not complex enough. It’s too cheerful; it’s too moody; it’s too strident in its opinions; it has nothing to say. If the review gives the impression that the critic read the title and cast and synopsis and made some assumptions based on those... there’s a horrible possibility that what you’re getting is those assumptions, not an honest review. (And every so often, you’ll catch an actual and shocking inaccuracy in a review that makes it damn clear what’s happened.)
3. Even when the reviewer has indeed watched the play in proper detail and is trying to be fair, it’s wise to note that biases can stop someone from reacting honestly to anything they see and hear. This is the case with audiences after all; the best critics know themselves well enough to minimise the effect on what they write. Even critics working for liberal or left-wing papers or websites are likely to be much harsher to the work of actors, writers, directors, etc. in marginalised demographics.
4. It’s also worth noting that a lot of critics regard actors moving into directing or (especially) writing as a bit presumptuous and getting above themselves. Assume that any review of the work of an actor in those fields is likely to be vastly harsher than is fair. Frankly a lot of reviewers do still have that old Roman attitude and regard actors with some contempt. It’s annoying and a bit pathetic of them, but they do.
5. Some critics don’t like a genre and review a play badly because it’s in that genre. If you’re lucky they’re open about doing this, and you can just ignore the entire review.
6. Just in general: read lots of reviews of the same thing if you want an overall reliable opinion - unless something’s universally panned it’s probably got at least some merit. Don’t assume in terms of the UK papers that the reviewers have the same politics as the rest of the paper. Be aware that a lot of critics are not actually self-aware enough to be very good at their jobs. Treasure those who are with every fibre of your being.
7. All of this applies to film, book, etc. reviews too.
