as you may have guessed, I’m fictionkin of nicolas de lenfent from anne rice’s vampire chronicles series, with some aspects of the show mixed in.

expect oddly-timed harangues and needless ramblings. misplaced and misguided anger towards those who I have perceived to have wronged me. too much love for a man who may not have deserved it, but who I loved and still love today.

asks are always open and I’m willing to talk to any sourcemates. it’s important to note that i’m (just about) 17 years old, so that may color your decision on whether or not to reach out.

Unfortunately it is getting to be very difficult for me to get through my read through of The Vampire Lestat. The worst of it is over (i.e. the part about My Story) but it would be very nice if Lestat stopped lusting over Marius. It’s admittedly very funny to read in moments when I can handle it (of all the people to choose as a rebound for your affection, Lestat, you choose him? Myself being a rebound for a bit was amusing, dare I say nice, but What Of My Story Made You Go, “Damn! I Want That!”) but otherwise it can get rather uncomfortable.

Nevertheless I am enjoying the book. In my reading I am discovering that there is a very real chance that I am also Nicolas, which is a bit funny — I suppose we both really wanted that Tall Obnoxious Blond Man — and a little odd, considering how much time I spend with him(me?) in the book.

It’s also interesting to me that I recall many of these book memories as how the television show will presumably (ideally) portray them — i.e. I am as I am in the show, as opposed to the book. The memories between the two are murky, and I remember things in very different ways in both regards. Memories themselves are fleeting, and I still struggle to properly recall much of my past, but there are certain things that I know to be true which simply do not appear in one media over the other.

I'm vaguely embarrassed(?) to be making a blog of this nature. despite having several others for fictionkin-related purposes. but I will introduce myself regardless.

You may call me Armand here, for the purposes of this blog. There are other names which I am amenable to, but I will not disclose them to the x amount of strangers that find this blog.

He/him and it/its pronouns are preferred, though I lean more towards he/him. I also prefer masculine or androgynous terms in relation to me.

This is a place for me to discuss my vampiric nature as it relates to this kintype (I'm vampirekin beyond this, but I have other blogs for that.) as well as post about TVC and IWTV at my own leisure. Note that I'm not yet done reading The Vampire Chronicles, and I am primarily kin of AMC's interpretation of Armand, though much of the books from what I know do align with my memories.

Feel free to send me asks or message me. I'm trying to be more social. I would, however, prefer if doubles didn't interact. Any other sourcemates are welcome, as well as any passers-by.

Besides TVC, my system has overlapping sources that are kuroshitsuji, Vanitas no carte, Voltron legendary defender, and sailor moon. There are a lot of shared identities.

I'll start with one we're all canonmates in, sailor moon. Now I have two lives from that source, I'm a 'double' of my host. This one is as Sailor Uranus. Lilith was Sailor Neptune, my host Sailor Starfighter, Shiro Sailor Pluto, little Ciel as Sailor Saturn. Something that Shiro told us in passing, interesting.

For my main source, my host and I have talked about having a shared identity. He is kin and I'm a fictive. Lilith surprised me when she said she was Louis de Sade. I have no way of knowing if she shares a canon with either of us as I didn't have any interaction with Louis and my host doesn't have any memories of him. Lilith in turn doesn't have any memory of either of us. Seems once dead, she stayed dead. It's difficult to say.

For Voltron, I thought I was my host's Shiro...but fictive Shiro is my host's. I was actually in a poly relationship (I know so shocking for me, another polyship) with Keith and Lance. My host is a Keith, but not mine.

And lastly, we have 3 Ciels and 1 Sebastian. I find it hilarious in a weird way. It reminds me of when you try to open a program and it's slow, then you hit the button again a few times only to get the program opening up multiple times. Perhaps a strange analogy. My host's main kin is Ciel. While I'm also a Ciel, I'm not very attached to that identity. I do have shifts, but they don't happen too often. We have a fictive, little Ciel, as him name suggests he's a kid-kid. (This is what happens when you're bedridden for a while as a young child, I guess. You get multiple sickly Victorian children.) Lilith is a Sebastian but not any of ours.

It's all very interesting. Lilith and I aren't too preoccupied with finding canonmates...though I would really love to find Noé. I do miss that idiot (affection) terribly. My host is still hanging on to a shred of hope but accepting perhaps they won't meet in this life.

This is one of my favorite TVC details so I wrote a little something about it.

"It certainly is... extravagant," Louis said, standing beside Lestat with his head tipped to the ceiling of the echoing council room. All of the furniture was still pushed to the far wall and covered in drop sheets for protection. Marius had left the job of cleaning up his mess to the staff, to the surprise of no one.

Lestat stepped forward and spun around to examine the mural from another angle. Unearthly glossy eyes followed him from above. "Yes! A fitting tribute to our extended vampiric family." He motioned towards the center, where his crowned likeness was framed in radiating beams of light. Louis was at his right, a wreath of laurels in his hair. "You look particularly noble, mon cher."

Louis shoved his hands in his pockets and cocked his head. "Surprised he left me with all my melanin, considering what I've seen of his past work."

"A crime against art, to alter any shade of you, my love--"

"That why you wouldn't let me see it until it was done, love?"

Lestat face fell just slightly, remembering the argument with Marius. "Regardless, he was persuaded into correcting it." He slipped his arm into Louis', and leaned close to his ear. "I wouldn't have let him leave if your beautiful image weren't just as magnificent as the real thing."

"Hmm." Looking side to side, Louis counted off their vampire brethren. All of Lestat's fledglings were spread out on either side of him. Claudia was seated next to Louis, his hand on her shoulder, with Madeleine reclined between them. Along the ceiling to their left, above the tinted windows, were Maharet and Mekare, along with their ancient kin. Opposite them, Marius had painted himself and his own lineage. Pandora and Bianca stood to either side of him, and at his feet, worshipful, were Armand, Sybelle, and Benji.

"Even in a painting, he couldn't let them go." Louis had expected no less, however, than a petty attempt at spite from Marius. Armand and his family had gone no contact with their maker years ago, but to exclude them from the mural would look like a failing on Marius' part. They were his creations, after all, his lineage.

But Armand's creation, well...

"He refused to even speak to me of Daniel," Lestat said, a genuine hint of sadness in his voice. "I half expected to find his severed head painted in a far corner."

"It's just as well. Daniel would probably set the room on fire if Marius had painted him up there like that." Louis noted the way Daniel's three companions stared adoringly up at their maker, palms tipped up and open in reverence. "Honestly, he still might."

At that moment an attendant entered the room. "Monseigneur Lioncourt, your presence is requested in the throne room." Lestat rolled his eyes in open annoyance.

"You should work on your poker face, Monseigneur," Louis told him with a smile. "It's unbecoming of a prince."

Lestat melted as always when Louis smiled for him. "Mon cher, you know I am terrible at cards." A kiss goodbye, and Lestat left to attend his duties.

Louis took the opportunity to update Daniel.

"It's somehow better AND worse than we thought."

It took a moment, but Daniel responded through the ether with his trademark inability to regulate his internal voice. "Oh god, send me a picture, will you?" he boomed in Louis' head.

"You can't show Armand. It's bad." Louis snapped a photo and texted it to Daniel. He replied with a vomiting emoji.

"What a pathetic fucking creep! You guys should have let me kill him when I had the chance."

"Hey, I was on your side of that one, boy!" Louis grinned just imagining Daniel's face at being called 'boy.'

Daniel went quiet for a moment, and Louis thought for sure he was sharing the image with Armand, and waited for the latter to call him immediately. They stayed out of each other's heads these days without prior permission.

But when his phone buzzed, it was a text from an unsaved number.

hey its sybelle. danny asked me to send you this.

Louis opened the picture she sent next and laughed to himself. It was a selfie of Sybelle and Daniel making goofy faces for the camera in matching candy cane scarves. He wore a green pointed hat with fake elf ears, and she a headband with felt reindeer antlers. Louis had never noticed that they had the same lilac eyes. Behind them, near a brightly lit Christmas tree, Benji and Armand sat cross-legged in a sea of wrapping paper, unboxing what looked like a mammoth Lego set in their pajamas. Probably the Death Star Benji had shared in the group chat last January when they'd completed it.

"You should blow that up and hang it right over his smug face," Daniel said. "And we've got plenty more where that came from."

"I'm sure you do," Louis said quietly to himself. "And I just might."

My gut feels like it’s being twisted by human hands every time I think of him. His beautiful eyes and even more beautiful hair. The way he gets emotional over the sound of music, his optimistic out look on life, his everything. Leaving for Paris was the best and the worst thing we could have done. Maybe we could have grown old together. Maybe we could have become famous together. Who know, but either way, I miss him. Oh how I miss him.
