Does anyone else remember the 80′s Ramona tv series? Ramona was played by Sarah Polley, who shortly afterwards was a regular on The Road to Avonlea. Also at one point in the 90′s The Disney Channel was airing both shows.

I'm starting Little House on the Prarie to get my Victorian-era fix, plus I LOVED Little House books when I was a kid.
I used to watch/was introduced to Road to Avonlea with my ex-bf. So it’s tainted, unfortunately 😭
The Anne of Green Gables movies are safe because I read the book pre previous relationship 🙏🏻

Perry reminds me of Gus Pike from Road to Avonlea. Idk if Gus is in Storygirl or if he is how he compares to Perry, but at least the TV iteration of him made me wonder if this is a type LMM writes or if the show was influenced by Perry at all.

Penny Johnson Jerald Vs. Mag Ruffman
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Penny Johnson Jerald - (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Larry Sanders Show) - No text propaganda
Mag Ruffman - (Road to Avonlea) - Along with being gorgeous (those luminous brown eyes! that cute little nose!), Mag Ruffman played one of the best rolls on the long-running Road to Avonlea series. Her character Olivia King went from a wispy and submissive "old maid" to an independent and assertive businesswoman. Not only did Mag Ruffman portray that arc believably, she brings some of the show's best moments, dramatic scenes, romantic scenes, and (so often) hilarious scenes. Mag Ruffman is an excellent comedian and brings so much fun and silliness to a character who otherwise might have faded into the background. And while I can't include more recent propaganda, she's still gorgeous.

Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 To You, 1 Of The Most Legendary Funniest American Actor Of The 1960s In Cinema 🎥 & Tv 📺 & More Of The Century
Lloyd was born on October 22, 1938, in Stamford, Connecticut, the son of Ruth Lloyd (née Lapham; 1896–1984), a singer and sister of San Francisco mayor Roger Lapham, and her lawyer husband Samuel R. Lloyd Jr. (1897–1959). He is the youngest of three boys and four girls, one of whom, Samuel Lloyd, was an actor in the 1950s and 1960s. Lloyd's maternal grandfather, Lewis Henry Lapham, was one of the founders of the Texaco oil company and Lloyd is also a descendant of Mayflower passengers, including John Howland. Lloyd was raised in Westport, Connecticut, where he attended Staples High School and was involved in founding the high school's theater company, the Staples Players.
He is an American actor. He has appeared in many theater productions, films, and on television since the 1960s. He is known for portraying Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy (1985–1990) and Jim Ignatowski in the comedy series Taxi (1978–1983), for which he won two Emmy Awards.
Lloyd came to public attention in Northeastern theater productions during the 1960s and early 1970s, earning Drama Desk and Obie awards for his work. He made his cinematic debut in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and went on to star as Commander Kruge in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), Professor Plum in Clue (1985), Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993), Switchblade Sam in Dennis the Menace (1993), Mr. Goodman in Piranha 3D (2010), Bill Crowley in I Am Not a Serial Killer (2016) and David Mansell in Nobody (2021).

He has done extensive voice work, including Merlock in DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990), Grigori Rasputin in Anastasia (1997), the Hacker in the PBS Kids series Cyberchase (2002–present), which earned him Daytime Emmy nominations, and the Woodsman in the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (2014).

wip asks! Let Me Down Gently and Pumpkin Winter? :D (just bc Pumpkin Winter sounds delightful)
Hi @freyafrida! 🫶
Went a bit ham here, so I'll put it under a cut.
Let Me Down Gently is a self-indulgent Batman fic about TimSteph - Tim Drake (the third Robin, also Red Robin) and Stephanie Brown (Spoiler/Batgirl). I don't often write shipfics, but I love their relationship in canon and wish they were still together. But hey, that's what fanfic is for! It's set in the same continuity as some of my other one-shots, in a hypothetical post-canon world where the family was allowed to remain together and Tim and Steph were able to grow up, instead of being interrupted by the New 52 reboot.
The fic is about them navigating young adulthood and falling back in love, because I see them as endgame. It is, of course, titled after a line from the Adele song "Water Under the Bridge", which is an eternal favourite of mine and encapsulates the TimSteph pairing so well.

Pumpkin Winter is based on one of my favourite TV shows ever, Road to Avonlea, which is an AoGG spinoff that incorporates characters and storylines from The Story Girl, The Golden Road, Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea. The show is mainly centred on the lives of the King family (Alec and Janet and their children) and their friends and relations.
Anyway! There's an episode in Season 5 called "Thursday's Child", in which the third King child, Cecily, gets consumption, and she and her family have to decide if she should go stay at a sanitarium. It's a very sad episode, not least because it's the last time we see this particular actress playing Cecily. The character of Cecily is so often neglected by the scriptwriters, to the point that even this episode focused more on the rest of her family than on her! So, as soon as I watched it, I wanted to write a fic about Cecily's thoughts and feelings during it, especially in relation to her father.
The title is partially because her father calls her "pumpkin" in this episode, and partially because of the excellent Tori Amos song "Winter", which is thematically appropriate. Oh, and the episode is set during winter.
