You will pick up what my interests are by just scrolling through the blog. This is a general purpose account and anything can happen here. And yes, I will be annoying about new things I get into. I've never unfollowed someone else over a deluge of random blorbo content personally, because I am stronger than those who do. But if you want to do that I won't be mad. Everyone has the right to their preferred experience on here and I'm not going to shame anyone or take it personally.

I have no DNI because that's silly and I am like 20 (what year is it?). I welcome anyone to interact with this blog if you're nice to me. If you suck I will just block you (you gotta suck bad because I need my blocked accounts list for other things). Nor do I discourage people under 18 to interact with or follow me because I'm not horny on main. Sometimes there will be things here that aren't safe for work (in the classical sense of "if my colleagues see me looking at this it's gonna be weird") but those are usually tagged appropriately.

I try my best to tag content warnings but I will probably forget to do new requests. I somewhat consistently tag "transphobia", "transmisogyny", "sa", "antisemitism", "unreality" and "flash warning". The only slur I really filter tag is "r slur". These usually stand alone as tags so if you are filtering for my blog, best filter "#r slur" rather than "#cw r slur". Content/trigger warnings are usually preceded by a lone "#cw" tag. Because that's just how I feel like rolling right now.

Started playing Hades for the first time and as usual it’s much cooler than tumblr told me it was because there’s a lot of cool stabbing and magic that tumblr ignores every time they see a black haired anime boy. You guys are some of the biggest most influential blogs I know, it'd probably be a great help to this protest if some of tumblrs biggest users participated in the blackout and spread the word. Sorry for being annoying and tagging yall.

48hr tumblr blackout proposal

tumblr mobile has seadily become near unusable these past few updates. not just from a user experience perspective (which is important enough in itself) but also from an accessibility perspective.

examples include the new way the image viewer works (if you can call it "working"), the tumblr live button replacing the profile button, and that newly created blogs will be forced to have their main dashboard tab be the 'for you' page.

the demands of the protest would be along the lines of:

reverse the recent image viewer update

scrap the new users 'for you' page default setting

let us turn off tumblr live indefinitely

increase efforts against spam / porn bots

make reporting abuse and hate speech as easy as reporting as reporting spam

let us go nuts show nuts again... for real this time

commit to improving usability and accessibility, and listening to users!

(suggestions welcome!)

to protest against these usability issues, and inspired by the recent reddit blackout, i propose a 48 hour blackout (where you don't use tumblr at all). preferably of both mobile and web (since web has problems too) but mobile is the focus here.

I suggest the 48 hours between the 30th of June to the end of the 1st of July.

this marks the end of pride month (for the "queerest place on the internet") and the start of disability month (since accessibility is a massive issue here).

tumblr office is in San Francisco, USA, so the times and dates will be calculated using their time zone (PDT).

hey all,

after over 8 years on this website, i think i'm gonna give it a break. it's been lovely, but i'm moving on. maintaining this blog has started to feel more like an obligation than a hobby. you can still find me on twitter @postpunklesbian, that's my main social media account these days.

thank you, tumblr, for helping me meet some of my closest friends (shoutout to @voyagerprobe @transbennysummerfield @zagreus and everyone else from the long-suffering dr whomst discord) and helping me realize that i was trans. the positive impact this site has had on my life can't be overstated.

i'm adding this post to the end of my queue. i'm not sure precisely when it's going to go up, but once it does, that's it. farewell. catch ya on the flipside.
