#tumblr hiatus

First chance I get, I will be deleting my two side blogs. It’s a decision I’ve been meaning to make for a while now, and it’s time. I really should have taken a hint when tumblr deleted my previous accounts and then my previous side blogs on this account. I might start unfollowing people as well. This is all in preparation for my departure. I don’t know when it will be, but it’s coming. I finally have the resolve now to leave. I’ve met so many wonderful, amazing people here, and I’ve made some friends that I will keep past tumblr. But it’s my time to say goodbye to this platform. Again, I don’t know when it’ll be, but I’m in the process of deciding when that will be. Until then, I’ll still be here, reblogging stuff as usual, but I will definitely be changing things between here and there. Thank you for reading this if y’all took the time.

I don't care it was not real, it was the most perfect kiss a girl could dream of and you should expect me to drop it here on a regular basis.

I bet Lestrade told them about Anderson's little fanfiction. Surely Molly became red and whispered "I wish...." while Sherlock probably sneered but looked away and commented the presence of a cat hair on Lestrade's pants indicating he had a date with a cat lover.

That said, I'm currently suffering from social media fatigue and as I usually do when it happens, I need a break.

I'll keep reblogging some fandom related posts, fics, fanarts etc., but I'll abstain from writing new posts and from commenting.

So, social media and screens have been kinda absorbing my life lately, and I'm gonna take a break from Tumblr.

I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight occasionally post art, but other than that I probably won't be replying to asks or comments

I don't know when I'll be back, but I'll definitely be gone for the rest of 2024, as I want to focus on holidays and family!

I’ve decided to go on a hiatus again, I’m not sure on how long it’s going to last, but I’ve been needing a break from posting.

To explain why I need a break, it’s because I’ve felt this sort of..pressure to be making art faster and be posting more art, and when I see others making fully rendered and amazing art so quickly, I feel guilty cause I can’t make things as fast as they do and all I do is reblog stuff. It’s gotten to a point where making art has felt like a imposing chore I have to do rather than something I want to do, and it sucks.

So I think a break is the best option for myself, I will be sure to announce when I come back, until then, bye!

Effective September third, two thousand twenty-four at four fifteen (4:15) am mountain time, I will begin participation in a personal Tumblr hiatus to focus on academic, literary, and artistic pursuits. I intend that I will not make original posts, reblog others' posts, lurk, or interact with polls, until June ninth, two thousand twenty-five at ten thirty-five (10:35) am mountain time. Mutuals and followers, If you see me posting, etc. after 3/09/2024, 4:15 am,* I would appreciate it if y'all'd send me an ask reminding me of my hiatus. It might not happen, but I can be forgetful at times, and ten months is a long time. I want to ace this semester. Spending over an hour or more a day scrolling through Tumblr is not very conducive to that endeavor in my case.

*The sole exception to my silence is that I might periodically reblog this post with updates at the beginning of breaks, to detail brief returnings. During those times, I may cross off things I've completed from the lists in this post. Other than that, I plan to stay away.

By the time I return from this self-imposed exile, I plan to have:

Completed my courses with at least an average score of 80%

Written two or more short stories

Drafted a few WiP introduction posts

Rewritten CWiP 026: "Epilog for a Nomad" so that I can use it as part of the conclusion to WiP 031: [Doppelganger's Refrain]

Drafted review/opinion posts for at least 5 chapters of "The Forgotten Legends of Chima"

Drafted an updated/revised version of my writeblr introduction post, and a few possible addenda thereof

Further developed a few stories, including my Blood Gulch Chronicles AU Chima fic, and my fantasy novel, WiP 019: [The Sentinel]

Drafted a few posts about the Worldbuilding for the sci-fantasy setting I'm developing, which is called Nexus

Carved a wooden sheath for my bunka-style kitchen knife

Whittled, sanded, and finished six (6) little wooden birds for my side hustle

I might try to sketch one or more of the following characters:

Aira, fierce and calculating Nexan arctic wolf phoenix

Leviathan, cautious and formidable Nexan crocodile (who I plan to draw in full halo-esque magitech armor)

Miles Laukkanen, stoic and cheerful werewolf

Dima, honest and reserved shapeshifting dragon (many options here. Dima has three main forms she shifts between: four-winged dragon, tall, white-haired androgynous human, and four-winged leucistic Nexan harpy eagle)

Excuse Me While I Pack My Shit: Mental Health Hiatus

Just mainly putting it out there for my own benefit, I don't have a huge following here to begin with, but this year has been horribly hectic, like constantly waging war with Edgar Allan Poe and his weird madness and an impeding zombie apocalypse (although, I wouldn't outrule the zombies just yet). Where do I start? I lost my dad almost two years ago, I started a new job at an elementary school that has been in equal parts both rewarding and frightfully stressful... to put it bluntly, it's been a lot. I haven't quite processed it all and I am, unfortunately, against a shitty disadvantage with having mental health issues in the past (going all the way back to my first suicide attempt at eleven years old; that alone requires its own novel but Jesus, Satan, not today).

I was honestly looking forward to starting fresh with this blog for new content, but today, all the bad things shoved deep down the damp, hollow well in my head could no longer be repressed. I spiralled. My anxiety has been approaching and breathing and growing and expanding since mid October 2023. I kept playing it cool, pretending I was okay. Nearly six months of this fabricated make-believe shit. Hashtag: I AM (NOT) OKAY WITH THIS!

Oh, bitch, who was I kidding? Because TW: sprinkling salt on your bare arm and pressing ice cubes to the salted skin for over an hour is like setting yourself on fire for fun. (In all seroiusness, not my idea of fun, kid!)

I'm sorry, world, I just couldn't do it anymore.

For lack of a better visual comparison, the more you deny "it," you risk the inevitable: you fuck with the Babadook (ba-BA DOOK! DOOK! DOOK!).

He arrived in all his horrific queer icon glory and busted through the wall (screw the door, who needs doors?). I had a complete autistic meltdown (among other things) at work of all places and on a goddamn Friday, no less (no need for dramatic specifics; a plethora of shit building up in the background of chaos just cornered me and devoured my mind whole). Though per school protocol, I was escorted to a psychiatric hospital for mental health evaluation.

That's where I will end this dramatic as fuck tale. Just know that social media is not a good place to be right now (truthfully, it's the last place I want to visit; all my invisible horrors and inner voices are merely magnified). The queue is still running but otherwise, I'll be tuned on radio silence, folks. This space cadet is preparing for take-off. To anyone that reads this rambling mess, look out for yourselves.

Hey folks!

I will be out of the country for the next five weeks. I will not have consistent access to social media while I am gone. In addition, I will be visiting a fairly conservative country. So chances are I will be avoiding Tumblr just to be on the safe side.

I am going to miss seeing everyone's posts and interacting with you all! And I cannot wait to get home and see what everyone has been up to while I've been gone!

It's that time again - time for the annual "you just survived Christmas, do everyone a favor and don't interact for a bit" Tumblr hiatus! It may be a week - it may be all month, who knows! Depends on how I'm feeling. Given that I have editing on my to-do list, I'll likely pop back in now and again to pester certain people with questions.

In the meantime, keep an eye on Ao3 - I do have some stuff nearly ready to go, but I won't be posting it here, for obvious reasons. I mean, that thoroughly defeats the point of a hiatus, ja?
