After the events of season 3, Five has to get his high school degree and has to live with Lila and Diego as his guardians. Lila and Diego fully lean into the role of playing “parents” to him to mess with him. Five spends time with his nieces and nephews. Maybe Five meets a girl named Dolores and befriends her.

Alive Ben, siblings reaction to his vaguely controlling, possessive behavior towards Klaus.

Au where Ben is alive again and continues to stay with Klaus even though the others don't understand why. They don't understand that's where Ben wants to be, is glad to be now that he has a physical body. That he's spent years only able to watch Klaus. Klaus is his in a way no one will ever understand. Even Klaus might not really get that either. Well. It's Ben's business anyways.

Having spent 13 years at Klaus's side as a ghost its not strange that Ben would continue to stay at his side even after coming back to life. Really. They others get it. They need time, Ben will realize he can part from Klaus and become apart of the family again! Klaus will realize he can't hog Ben to himself and continue to expect Ben to be there. They can both separate and be apart of the family. Together but separately from each other.

But it's not happening. Not really.

They don't seclude themselves exactly. They spend time with the family. But, never apart from each other. They come down from their room together. Yes, their room. Because they share a room now and neither have said anything about it and when any of the siblings had tried to ask about it they just seemed confused. Like they're the weird ones for even questioning it. But that's besides the main issue. It's almost like they don't realize that they can be apart from each other. That if one leaves the room that doesn't mean the other has to follow.

Another thing is how Ben acts now. More opinionated, which is good! Except he says things without thinking and is constantly looking at Klaus because he knows it will make Klaus laugh.(Which explains so much about Klaus's behavior of inappropriately laughing in situations actually.) Not caring if he's offending another of the siblings. He insults Klaus just as much if not more than he does anyone so that's just how he is now probably. They let it slide. Though they realize that Ben is less likely to let it slide if someone makes a comment on Klaus. Even if he was the one who started it. It's different he said, while looking at them with an offended anger in his eyes.

They notice other things too. Like Ben's mother hen behavior that made them laugh in the beginning. Some saying how finally someone is here to rein in Klaus. But it becomes a bit much and soon makes the others a bit uncomfortable watching Ben constantly comment on what Klaus is doing at any given moment. To how he sits, talks or just what to do. Klaus doesn't seem to give it any thought or mind. Complaining to them in theatrics, asking them if they see what he deals with now?? But he complies most of the time, the other times Ben is able to make him or sighs like he didn't really expect Klaus to do what he wanted but it was a old routine they did. So they don't say anything about it. Yet.

Ben knows he's weirding out his siblings with how he acts and doesn't leave Klaus alone but he honestly can't bring himself to care much. He's finally real, can finally actually be with Klaus and not just attached to him. Klaus is finally his, properly. He can wack Klaus on the head, turn him in the direction he wants Klaus to be, give him orange juice for breakfast and Klaus can only comply or fight Ben on it. And Ben knows Klaus isn't going to do that. It's satisfying and calming. More so that Klaus allows him to do all this. He doesn't care if his siblings think he's a freak, this is much more important to Ben. Of course he's happy to be with his whole family again. But it's better with Klaus there right beside him, he doesn't want to think about learning on how to be apart from Klaus. The thought makes the horrors stirr and him nauseous. It's better this way. The rest can either get used to it or leave them alone. He finally has Klaus in his grasp and he's not letting go.

Klaus is probably well aware of Ben's feelings and actions that are possessive but he honestly doesn't care. Too used to it and Ben is his bestfriend so he doesn't see a problem with it. Makes him feel secure even, he was afraid Ben would ditch him the moment others could perceive him so all this is actually pretty reassuring. Healthy? No. But when has he ever cared for healthy?

The siblings coming to the realization that it isn't Klaus who's hogging Ben. It's Ben borderline keeping Klaus to himself and not letting his hold on Klaus slip an inch.

More scenes include:

Ben dragging Klaus around with him wherever and whenever he wants to go. A siblings telling Ben he can go on his own or, better yet they could join him instead of Klaus! Ben staring at them for a moment and then saying he can wait until Klaus wants to go with him but they're welcome to come when it happens.

The siblings talking over things they've seen and if they should be worried?

One of them eventually commenting on it and saying how Klaus IS his own person you know that right Ben? And Ben immediately saying no he's not.

Klaus not helping at all because he just goes along with it all so nonchalantly even as the others are increasingly worried for him.

Lila immediately getting lost in the subway. Ends up meeting like 10 different Fives and his families. Eventually finds the diner.

Is immediately hit on by a bunch of shameless Fives, only some of which even know who she is.

Brisket!Five is the only one who actually succeeds in seducing her or at least gets the closest.

If she is there for a while:

She ends up working at the diner. Brisket!Five knows the power of free fries. She stays until she gets bored (Brisket!Five told her the way back ages ago).

If she leaves quickly: She reenters s2 knowing that Comissioner!Five founded the Commission. Consequences ensue.

Six of Crows // TUA

Number One

Character: Matthias

Reasoning: This one is the easiest to determine and makes sense from both a power point of view and story-arc point of view. Matthias is a natural born leader, and sees himself as someone who needs to keep the rest of the crows in line and act as a sort of moral compass. This reflects well with the position of Number One, as the leader of the group and a somewhat self-righteous character in the beginning.

Number Two

Character: Inej

Reasoning: Although it would make sense for Jesper to be Number Two due to the metal/trajectory manipulation, Diego’s character better fits Inej in my mind. She would definitely hold a grudge against Sir Reginald Hargreeves for taking them away from their parents and for not protecting them when they were kids. She also would fit the vigilante role well, due to her pirating arc at the end of Crooked Kingdom.

Number Three

Character: Nina

Reasoning: It was a toss-up between Number Four and Number Three for Nina, due to her powers as a corpse witch, but I feel that she would fit better as Number Three with the reality manipulation/rumor ability, because of what she was able to do under the effects of Jurda Parem, and the line about her and Jesper seducing all of Ketterdam into submission.

Number Four

Character: Jesper

Reasoning: This decision is mainly based on character arc and personality. Klaus and Jesper are similar levels of chaos, sass, and queerness. As well as the fact that addiction is a big part of both of their arcs. I felt that Number Four was a better fit than he would have been for Number Two.

Number Five

Character: Kaz

Reasoning: I felt that out of all of them, Kaz would embody the 50+ year old man in a 13-year-old’s body arc the best. He and Five just remind me a lot of each other, and view themselves as the leader of their respective groups, whether or not everyone sees it that way. Plus, Kaz, due to his PTSD, is kind of stuck in the past sometimes, and I think that preventing the apocalypse would be a good mirror to his drive for revenge against Pekka Rollins.

Number Six

Character: Jordie

Reasoning: I find this one very, very interesting to explore, and for this reason, I thought about giving Kaz the role of Number Four, but no one else really embodied Number Five like he did. Plus, the idea of Jesper being able to talk to Jordie while Kaz can’t? I want to explore it. But other than the fact that he is dead, I like to think that Jordie would act as a common sense filter for Jesper, and by extension, Kaz, much like Ben does.

Number Seven

Character: Wylan

Reasoning: This was another fairly easy decision for me. The treatment of Number Seven by Sir Reginald Hargreeves is somewhat similar to Wylan’s treatment by his father. The isolation, the constant reminding that they are not special and are nothing compared to everyone else. The fact that Wylan was very much considered an outsider by the Crows for a large portion of Six of Crows. As well as the connection of both Wylan and Number Seven to music.

Writing ideas or something, pt. 5/?

umbrella academy au where almost everything is the same except that Five has no idea how long he was in the apocalypse.

This would mean slight variations in dialogue ("it's been a lot longer than that" vs. "it felt a lot longer than that") and some slight additions (mentioning that the Temps Commission never shared that information with him and expounding upon the post-apocalyptic climate making it impossible to tell time).

It could conclude with them never finding out how long Five was there, acquiring a file from the Commission that has that information, or Five reviewing his calculations and figuring it out based on that.

The actual question of how long he was there could be anything from "same as canon, more or less forty-five years" to "his time travel ability caused a phenomenon similar to time dilation, slowing his aging to nearly a standstill, and he was actually there for several lifetimes" to "thirteen years and then four with the Commission, so his consciousness is actually the exact same age as the other siblings (younger than some after other time travel mishaps), because he unconsciously used their shared age as an anchor point to determine when he would travel back to" etc.

Ignoring the crash and burn that was the majority of season four, I will probably pick up on writing some TUA fics while the obsession is burning hot again. This has been sitting in my docs for awhile, when I had a strange obsession with the movie The Miracle Worker. But would anyone ever be interested in seeing a Miracle Worker AU?

Help me choose my next project!

Per custom, I have too many ideas and no clue which one to go with. So I'm going to leave it up to the fates. (Aka, you. You're the fates.)

All of these are Umbrella Academy fics, but you don't need to know anything about the show to vote. Just choose whichever title sounds coolest, or feel free to read the summaries beneath the poll.

Most of my fic ideas are Five or Vikor-centric. There's a Klaus one in there though, and an Allison one.

1. time, that fickle temptress

At first, Five assumes it’s a fluke, the trick of a tired mind. Just a lost recollection here or there; nothing too unusual for a man of his age. But when the memories begin disappearing at a faster rate, Five begins to piece together what is truly truly going on.

His mind and body are attempting to realign. He’s becoming thirteen again.

2. i look in a mirror and i see you

Five Hargreeves has been trapped in the apocalypse for almost five years; a bit ironic, isn’t it? His powers are working just fine, but he finds himself faced with a peculiar problem: he can’t seem to find the right timeline.

After another jump goes wrong, Five finds himself in a universe where he and his siblings were never adopted; in fact, they never even had powers. It’s there that he meets a younger version of himself, and sees what life might’ve been like if it weren’t for his father.

3. the voice of god

Allison is tired of losing everyone and everything she loves. Be it the fault of her father, the universe, or the careless actions of her siblings, she’s reached the point where she can’t take it any more. Someone needs to suffer for what has happened, and Allison is more than willing to make them suffer.

In which the author gives Allison a self-indulgent villain arc that does not involve sexual assault.

4. a morbid reflection

The Hargreeves may be broken people, but they have always tried their best to do what is right.

This isn’t the case in every universe.

When Allison reset the timeline with an incomplete equation, it fractured, resulting in dozens of different universes that are shaky reflections of the original. The Hargreeves and their allies have been scattered across these dimensions, trapped in worlds that are not their own with no clear path home.

Lila finds herself alone in one such universe. In this timeline, the members of the Umbrella Academy are not the heroes that are known and loved in other dimensions. Instead, they are the villains of this world, dark and twisted versions of the people Lila has come to love.

Unfortunately for her, if she’s going to get home, she’s going to need their help. She’ll do whatever it takes to convince them--or trick them--into giving her what she wants. But Lila isn’t the only one with ulterior motives; unbeknownst to her, there’s someone else pulling the strings, and they aren’t afraid to let the world burn along the way.

“This is the price of being powerful. Sometimes we step on ants.”

5. oh to be young again

Five tries to reverse the mistake that got him trapped in his 13-year-old body. Something goes wrong, and now his siblings are stuck as kids, too.

6. my brother’s keeper

(An Umbrella Academy/The Hunger Games AU) When Five Hargreeves’ brother is reaped for the 170th Annual Hunger Games, Five volunteers in a desperate ploy to save his life. He doesn’t expect to win, not when he’s so much smaller and younger than the rest of the tributes, but he’s willing to do anything to get back to Viktor. If that means defying the odds and fighting his way through twenty-three tributes to return home, then so be it.

Unbeknownst to Five, rebellion is boiling at the seams of Panem. The flame of revolution that died nearly a hundred years ago with Katniss Everdeen has been rekindled, and it has chosen this year’s tributes as its puppets.

Now Five finds himself faced with two choices: play the Capitol’s game and lose himself in the process, or fan the fires of revolution and risk losing the world instead.

7. the skeleton key

Klaus can’t take it any more; after one too many evenings spent trapped in the house of the dead, the ten-year-old boy decides to call the authorities on his father. Things don’t go quite as planned, and after months of brutal court cases and custody battles, Klaus and his siblings are scattered across the country through the foster care system.

Six years later, and Klaus hasn’t heard from his siblings since the day they were torn apart. As far as he’s aware, they never want to see him again; he did destroy their life, after all. But then a powerful new enemy rears their head, and Klaus starts receiving instructions through the mail. If he wants to save the world, he’ll have to reunite the Umbrella Academy… and just hope that the anonymous tipper feeding him information is friend, not foe.

8. rusty bullets

(Zombie apocalypse/no power AU) Viktor Hargreeves was attending his first semester of college when the world fell apart. Now the undead roam the streets, and Viktor isn’t quite sure how he’s still alive. One thing is certain, though; he needs to make it back to his hometown, back to his girlfriend Sissy. To do that, he’ll need to join forces with a ragtag band of survivors and battle his way across the apocalypse. The odds are not in his favor, so it’s a good thing Viktor has never been one to give up.

9. a trick of the fates

(Self-indulgent OC fic. They aren't a couple tho, just pals against the end of the world.) When Five Hargreeves escapes the apocalypse after six long years of solitude, he’s ecstatic. Now he has plenty of time to stop the apocalypse before it’s even begun. Only problem? He lands in Larkspur, Colorado, hundreds of miles away from home. And that’s not all… his powers don’t seem to be working, either.

Quincy Gray has never understood her powers, nor does she want to. Unfortunately, they’re becoming harder and harder to control. A miracle arrives in the form of a bedraggled boy who falls out of the sky and into her backyard. They quickly strike up a deal; Quincy gets him home to New York City, and Five teaches her how to use her powers along the way.

Nothing could go wrong, right?

As the figure of her body flickered, Klaus’ heart stopped pumping, ears stopped hearing. You had always been there, a piercing light through the darkness of his world, accompanying him as he bent under the never ending demands of their Father. You cried over him as he convulsed through an overdose the night the screeching of the dead became too much. You pet his hair and watched over his body until he returned to the land of the living. He turned pages of books for hours for you as you cuddled with him, longing for the education your parents had always wanted for you. You held him when no one else did, when the world abandoned Number Four, when his Father’s words rung in his head over and over. “Useless. A waste of powers. Almost as bad as Viktor.” After drugs, only your voice drowned them out. Maybe better, but he would never admit it.

Your figure flickered once more in synchrony with the lights, and wind seemed to pick up inside the Academy. “Klaus? Is this how it’s supposed to go?” your panicked voice muffled, barely making it through the chaos. Klaus couldn’t take his eyes off you, scared he’d blink and it’d be like you were never there at all. The wind picked up, a tornado forming around you, building a barrier between him and you. You reached out to him, and his fingers barely brushed yours when suddenly, it happened. The lights stopped flickering, the walls stopped shaking. The world settled down to the peaceful quiet of the night. And you were gone.

“3:02am” the clock faced him. “No. No.” he said to no one. It was a statement. A fact. As he fell to his knees, it played in his mind. His breaths quickened, chest squeezing as the air refused to enter his lungs. He clutched his face in his hands, pulling his hair. The only noise his rough gasps. “No.” he repeated. If she was gone, he would be too. He’d die and return to that horrid Afterlife with the stupid girl on the stupid bicycle and the stupid scenes of other people’s “Paradise” and he’d search for you until he awoke. And he’d do it again and again, until he found you. And he’d bring you back. He would. He had to. It was you or nothing.

“Klaus?” he imagined you calling out. “Klaus.” you cried. Suddenly, something brushed against his bare shoulder. A soft touch, gentle. Familiar. Instantly, he turned to find its source. And there you stood, more beautiful than ever despite the matching tears streaming down your face. He paused for a second, taking you in, before jumping in your arms, wrapping his legs around your waist, squeezing as tight as he could. And he could feel your hands around him. Your real hands, your real arms, your real hair against his face, your real body underneath his. Your chest moving up and down. Your heart beating against his, pumping blood. Alive.

You squeeze back, spinning around the room, feeling the weight in your arms and your heart hammering in your chest. You land on the couch, Klaus still on top of you. “It worked. It really worked. I’m like you, I’m alive” you said to the air, still in shock. “Yes you are baby! You smell so good, even after fifteen years in the grave. Is it wrong if I have a bit of a boner right now?” You laugh through your tears, and respond “Never did I think i’d be so grateful to be holding your ass.” you reply, playfully squeezing when he responds with, “Everyone is, you’re not special.”

As he pulls back, you push him backwards into the couch and land on top of him, lying on his chest. You both lay there for hours, stuck in a spell and waiting for the other shoe to drop, knowing it never will not overriding the anxiety in your bones. “Thank you,” you whisper again and again as he pets your hair. You fall asleep to the steady rhythm of each other’s heart. 

my appreciation for fic writers is always high, but even more so on making the characters sound authentic. i feel like this does not sound like klaus, but didn’t know what else to do. dialogue is hard :(

"I hate it. It's a disgusting book but not surprising. Vanya's always been vindictive like that. Instead of, I don't know. Focusing on how much of an abusive maniac Reginald was she decided to make a burn book of the other abused kids in his household and cry about how we were mean to her. How we ignored her. As if we didn't have our entire day and nights scheduled by Reginald. Did you know we had thirty minutes of free time a week? Thirty minutes. Sorry we didn't cater to you in that time Vanya. Whatever. I don't even want to give her anymore of my time of day. It'll just encourage her. Leave me alone."

When we were little Dad said she was fragile, she was sensitive and we weren't allowed to upset her. And then, well, it became too much of a risk to be around little Vanny. Not with dad's hawkeyes on us waiting for us to mess up. If seven so much as frowned around one of us we'd get a lecture about how we aren't supposed to upset our sister. And God forbid we accidentally made her cry. Dad's cane really packs a hit. And I think seven realized that because if we did do something she didn't like, tears were a easy way to make us regret it. But that was when we were really young. Before she got sick. Then she was gone for a while and when she came back dad said she was better but not to bother her and truth be told, none of us really wanted too. The image of her dead stare as we got caned because of her never really went away. Dad did stop caning us if she was upset after she came back but we had other things to worry about then. This is really killing my vibe. Can you just pay me now?"

"Listen, I love my sister and if she felt she needed to write that book fine. She was abused too but in a different way, she was pushed away. I just wished she tried to understand our position too instead of making us her villains in her life and book. We were all abused by dad, now enough- how do you know about that. Klaus? Of course. Vanya was sick as a kid okay? She was maybe a bit cruel but dad got her meds. She's better now. It wasn't her fault dad caned us. Well. Maybe sometimes she did put on tears to get the boys in trouble and never seemed sorry about that. But as I said. She's better now. She has medication and gets therapy for things like that. Hopefully her therapist can help her sort through these feelings that made her write the book as well. Now leave us alone."

"Dad did what he thought was best for us. He told us Vanya couldn't handle it and I agree with him. She was safer away than with us. Sorry if that hurt number sevens feelings enough to write a book. Now get off our property."

"I told you I don't want to give any more time to Number seven. But I will say one thing. I hope that this stupid, selfish book she wrote isn't giving any of my other siblings trouble. But I know that's a lie because it's already effecting how people see me. They either look at me with pity or wonder how I could be mean to one of my siblings enough for them to write a book. Like I could've been nice at all in a house like Hargreeves. Kindness wasn't something you could afford in a house like that. It was a survival challenge. We survived, not all of us, Ben and Five weren't so lucky but I thought the rest of us all had a unspoken agreement to never speak of it again. To leave it in the past. We don't even speak to each other anymore. But leave it up to Number seven to pick out the thing that would hurt us most for her revenge."

"You're back again? Leave me alone. I've already had such a shit day and I keep hearing about this book. A book I bought with my own money just to get shit on and harassed for. I could've used that money for fun times, you know like the useless junkie I am as my dear sister put it. Instead I got a book with some of my most private moments from childhood used against me and people like you wanting to question me. Listen. I didn't mean to paint Vanya as some evil psycho child. I was just rambling. It was true what I said mind you but she got better okay. Well maybe not better because obviously she got issues with us and stuff. Maybe we should've checked on her but honestly we couldn't even check on ourselves never mind little quiet Vanya who's job was to observe us and report to dad. Ugh! I don't want to talk about any of this. I thought she said I was just a junkie on the streets, why listen to me?"

"Please just leave me and my family alone. I said I love my sister and she was sick. Not demented and cruel! You people are vultures. Do I talk to any of my siblings? No. Once we left the house we didn't keep in contact with each other. Easier that way to close that chapter in our lives. So just leave me alone."

"Do I need to call the police? I don't care about Vanya's book. She wrote it, a lot of it was either her victim complex or, or. Like Allison said, Vanya was sick, maybe she's still sick I don't know. She doesn't call. None of them do and the house number hasn't ever changed. If she wants to talk about her book she can call, if anyone wants to talk, they can call. But they haven't and they probably won't and I don't got anything to say either so get off the property before we have a problem."

This idea just wouldn't leave my head. The siblings remembering not Vanya's powers but her attitude when she had them and how they made her come off. They don't remember why Sir Reginald was so strict with keeping Vanya calm, he didn't want Vanya accidentally or not, killing off one of his to be team. They only remember the harsh punishments of upsetting Vanya and therefore risking themselves. Whether or not Vanya would've hurt them? I don't know know. But Reginald didn't want to chance it.

This also makes me curious about Vanyas reaction to these comments made of her by her own siblings. Dealing with the backlash this tabloid has caused her and her book. The questions people would ask. The now doubt in her writing if it was genuine or another opportunity to have a dig at her siblings? Does she have a victim complex? Narcissism maybe? The worst is when Vanya's therapist asks if she ever wanted to hurt her siblings for ignoring her?

List of Current Klive Projects

So I have waaaaay too many unpublished WIPs in various stages of completion, from just plot bunnies, to complete outlines, to partial chapters, to almost completed fics, lmao. Currently my main focus has been If It's Not Love (Then It's the Bomb) with some oneshots or short multichapter fics scattered. However I've just started posting the follow-up to my Hitman Five fic (Kill Me Twice), Let Me Tear You to Pieces, which is going to be multichapter, and later this month or next month I'll be posting something else--but what that is remains up for debate, as I'm spoiled for choice on what to work on.

The question I have, I guess, is what of my 9 billion ideas sounds most appealing to others. So poll time! Here's a brief(ish) rundown of my various projects for Klive. Take a look and tell me what you'd most like to see!

*Accidental Sugar Daddy AU (~50k ish?) Season 4 AU where the rest of his siblings are making lives for themselves without their powers, but Klaus has no idea what to do with himself. Luckily for him, Five is more than happy to take care of him in the meantime. But as Five goes to more and more extravagant lengths to keep him happy, Klaus feels like he should be giving something back. And when Diego jokingly calls him Five's Sugar Baby, Klaus can't stop thinking about just how he could show his appreciation. Basically Didn't Know They Were Dating followed by Mutual Pining While Fucking, Misunderstandings, Angst, and a delightfully cheesy Happy Ending :D

*The Professional Cuddler AU (likely ~20k) - Ben is a professional cuddler who has an emergency and asks his BFF Klaus to take his appointments for him one day. Five is a maladjusted, touch-starved little psycho and his BFF Viktor buys him a session with a professional cuddler to see if it might help. *Danger Days AU (multi-chapter probably in the 75k+ range) Set in the Danger Days universe (from My Chemical Romance's album/videos/comics), Reginald rules the world and various of his adopted children run major cities. Five runs Battery City, with the Handler training his SCARECROWS. Five ends up with a new sexbot that doesn't behave like bots are supposed to, but as angry as it makes him, he's not about to return the bot... Klaus, meanwhile, is a top of the line, self-aware, true AI and secretly working with the underground, sending info back to Diego and Lila, and trying to find out where Reginald's last son, Viktor, has disappeared to.

*Time Travel What Ifs # 1 (multi-chapter ~25-50k) When Reginald throws Klaus out of the tunnel in season 3, he doesn't manage to die in time before the Kugelblitz gets him...and he wakes up back in the season 1 timeline, tied to a chair in Hazel and Cha-Cha's motel room. Klaus sets about fixing the timeline in a decidedly Klaus way, much to the bafflement of his siblings who wanna know what the hell happened to change their brother so dramatically overnight. (Also, Five keeps walking in on Klaus in various stages of undress. This is not essential to the plot, but I do adore it :D)

*Time Travel What Ifs #2 (probably a fairly porny oneshot ~ 10k at most??) Five's equations end him up in the mid 00s in a hot young 20-something body. 15 yo Klaus is super fucking into it, and trying to seduce Five, while Five tries to resist. He eventually fails to resist...

*Mob AU (?? 15-30K ish??) Psycho Mob Enforcer Five is the Boss's favourite, but has to leave town a while to lay low. Upon coming back and he takes a special interest in, and starts stalking, the Boss's newest sidepiece Klaus. Klaus is, predictably, super into it (and all the glorious fallout of that relationship when Five's not willing to share with anyone, boss or no...)

*Old Man Five/Hooker Klaus (25-50k) Old Man Five hops through the timeline trying to help improve his siblings' lives, even if they don't know it's him. When he gets to Klaus, he figures some money could improve his situation, but Klaus is disinclined to take money without providing services in return...Five doesn't mean to fuck his brother, but once he gets started, he's not about to stop. Klaus becomes his kept boy, and Klaus, despite the fact that he doesn't know much about his mysterious benefactor who disappears for long stretches of time, starts to fall in love. Except then Five disappears for good (after the Handler threatens to kill Klaus if Five keeps going back). Upon returning to his 13 yo body, Five doesn't want to tell Klaus the truth, assuming he'll be pissed to find out it was Five all along. But then Luther, the only one who's seen Old Five finds a photo of him in the background of some major historical event, and upon seeing it, Klaus blows up like wtf how could you not TELL ME??? and there is DRAMA and a fair amount of angst, but an eventual happy ending.

*Daemon AU (a la His Dark Materials; 10-20k ish, oneshot-ish, probably with other short one-offs in same ' verse) I have SO MANY FEELS ABOUT KLAUS' DAEMON OKAY??? And I don't want to get into them too much without being spoilery. But basically some vague timeline what timeline where they avoid the apocalypse and still have their powers and settle back into the manor. No one has seen Five's daemon since he returned to their timeline, leading his siblings to believe she must have been severed from him. No *humans* have seen her, but Klaus' daemon has, and the two of them hang out a lot. Meanwhile Klaus' daemon is as much of a mess as he is, thnks to various experiments Reggie performed, and of course the issue of what becomes of the daemon of a person who can die and return to life, when upon death, a daemon becomes Dust? Basically these two have some fucked up issues that are reflected in their daemons, which leads everyone around them to jump to conclusions. But mostly it's a really soft, romantic fic, of Five's daemon taking care of Klaus and Klaus taking care of Five, and just...lots of feels guys, okay?!

*Meet as Teens AU (25-50kish) Cancer Patient Five's family move to America for treatment. In the small town nearby, he meets Amish Klaus, who works at his family's market. Five's going through a bit of a rebellious phase (facing some really bad odds with his cancer) and Klaus lives on the fringes of his society, an outcast because of his weird abilities. Of course they gravitate towards one another, but when Five gets bad news after his most recent round of treatment, Klaus decides to visit the Girl and ask for a favour. *Commune AU (under 20k oneshot/maybe several short ~2-5k ficlets) Instead of selling Five when Reginald comes calling, Efa, whose family has a plot of land, invites other mothers of the powered children to drop off their babies if they don't want them. And if you want your baby but can't keep them because of shitty family situations, drop yourself off, too. Basically some of the moms stay and together they raise and teach and train the children together. The kids grow up happy and moderately well-adjusted and Reginald gets none of them, the dick. Five and Klaus are good friends, but then genius Five heads off to university pretty young, then a year of study abroad, and they mostly only keep in touch via mail. Five comes back from his study abroad to find Klaus has finally moved off the commune, and when he mentions not wanting to live in the dorms next semester, his mum mentions Klaus having space in his apartment. The last time Five saw him, Klaus was still that sort of wary, fluffy farm boy. But then Five walks into Klaus' gallery and both of them are all "oh no he's hot." Klaus is all cool and sexy and tattooed, and has all these friends and Five's despairing "what is he going to see in me, his square, nerdy friend." and Klaus is all, "ugh, Five is so hot and serious and he must think I'm so immature and stupid"
