I'm actually actively working on an opening comic for an askblog that I'm planning on making for it!

There's a lot of stuff I have for it, but the general premise is that in this au Neru is actually a time traveler from the future and has gone into the past to prevent the apocalypse. Neru is also the daughter of Miku and Rin in this au.

Also, the timeline starts breaking and weird shit starts happening

Also, quite a few of my ocs are side characters from the au. The ones I remember mentioning are Jim Jimbo, Jem Jeembo, Jom Jombo, and Shiro. Actually, I'm pretty sure two of the Jims have only been mentioned in conversations with one of my mutuals, but they do exist! Jim Jimbo is a guy who runs a cafe where Teto works, and Shiro is a sad stray cat of a person who doesn't show up in the story until later on despite my obsession with them.

Editing out the part about the ymca since it's inaccurate now.

The name of the au is Time Traveler Neru, which I often shorten to TTN. I'm not going to say anything else about it here because I want it to be a surprise :)

Hey, I've never sent an ask or anything before, but I just wanted to encourage you a bit, to help keep the negative voices from to firm a grip in your head.

I've never read an a/b/o fic before, and never wanted to. In fact, I don't read many fics at all. I picked up TTN because I had read Into the Aurora, and loved the way you had characterized everyone, and because it's rare to find someone who writes every aspect of their fics as well as you manage. Though I am sure I would have also loved reading extra worldbuilding (because that just means more story), I don't think TTN has suffered for not having it, nor do I feel like Mingi and Yunho's characterization is off. People are complicated, the situation between yn/yh/mg is also complicated, and there are a lot of factors to take into account when getting inside of a character's head that not everyone fully considers or thinks through. And it's absolutely valid not to show every step of your thought process, and let people come to understand your characters as they go. Maybe the people that don't quite get the characterization won't ever get it, and maybe they'll pick it up and start understanding as the story continues, but either way, if the characters make sense to YOU and what you're trying to write, that's the most important part. And if nothing else, I can reassure you that they make sense to me.

And as for being a people pleaser? Oh goodness, I completely understand. It's so so easy to let the desire to make everyone happy paralyze or discourage you, and you have 100% of my sympathies. Just know that, though it's not possible to please everyone, the overwhelming majority of your readers—both those that comment/interact with you, and those like me that are chronic lurkers—love and appreciate your work. Take whatever time you need, work at whatever pace is most comfortable, and we'll still be here to support whenever it is you are satisfied with your next chapter!

(Also, ouch, Yunho's distress in the last chapter punched this hotteok right in the feelings. Apparently I crave the angst, and I can't wait for the emotional payoff of reconciliation to make all three of them happy again!)

Muse's first London gig/show outside Devon, 1995

"I do know the story of the show [Bulls & Gates, London, 1995]. MUSE's then manager Phil Korthals, asked if we could help to get MUSE a London show, following a support slot to [Worcester punk band] Tribute to Nothin in Exeter. We obliged with the B&G show - all this before Lockjaw Records was established when TTN was still signed to Polygram subsidiary Go! Discs. The show, their first in London I think, was packed however. TTN, The Few and Muse brought decent crowds to the show, including the coach full from Exeter that Matt mentioned.

Then after Lockjaw was established in February 1997, we put out the first 'Helping You Back To Work' compilation that included 'Balloonatic'. We still have the signed agreement in our files - it must be worth something now!

Shortly after that their manager asked if we would like to sign them to the label for the release of a single. We declined as we had only just started and had such a small budget we couldn't afford to do it - we had already committed our meagre budget to other things - again, how times have changed."

The coach mentioned - Muse brought a crowd along to ensure the gig wasn't empty. "They paid for transport for themselves and their friends via coach from Exeter." This wasn't uncommon back in the day, people from inner cities and towns used to organise coach trips to go see bands they liked in bigger cities.

Holy cow YOU worked on TTN?! Manz ur the source of my new hyperfixiation! i would like to know if there were any abandoned plot points in TTN while writing? :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Don't get me started on the amount of plot points that didn't happen! Let me break it down chapter by chapter.

Spoilers Ahead!

Chapter 1 didn't have too much. There could have been an attempt on Cho's life in the very first chapter if he hadn't hesitated or the murder had happened any later. When I look back at it, I realise that offering his life to Seika was a little unintentional foreshadowing.

On the other hand... Had that chapter gone a day longer, Cho would have started having cannibalistic thoughts. It's still fun to think about what could have happened.

Chapter 2. Oh god there is a lot. Shall I start with how Cho almost ended up as the culprit for this chapter? I'd always known he was either an early chapter or a late chapter death, most likely as a victim. (Chapter 3 really said no to that idea, didn't it?) And I considered very early on having his sacrificing nature leading to an attempt of self sacrifice that got walked in on and accidentally ended in a murder in the struggle. The idea was dropped after his conversation with Zack and Randhir and it's a good thing it was! It wouldn't have many any sense with the events of SSS.

Speaking of SSS. I almost had the thrown knife cause serious harm. It almost ended up in his eye instead but I decided to be merciful that day. He had just had a panic attack, I could spare him from a bit of extra suffering.

A really big plot point that was completely dropped was why Cho fought to stay alive when attacked by Shujin. He had theorized that they were in a simulation or a place otherwise unreal due to some unexplainable occurrences and the landscape outside the window being all the same as if it was looping around. If it wasn't for SSS and Case 2 back to back he would have told Zack about it. The game could have even ended earlier if hadn't had his spiral.

It's Chapter 3 time! Oh have I got a lot for you. He was going to have a full on villain arc throughout Chapter 3 eventually leading into a possible redemption in Chapter 4 if someone finally got through to him. The wheel had other plans so it had to be cut short.

A fun one would be what he won from the game. Cho almost won a therapy session with Mononaishi where they would just make fun of his problems. It would have been a lot of fun but wasn't included due to time constraints. If TTN was to be adapted for a game or video series I would absolutely add it in as bonus content.

Case 3 could have been so much different. I was going to reuse the discarded Case 2 idea but have him try to get everyone killed due to his villain arc. While never directly mentioned, he actually theorized the Chapter 4 motive a chapter early which could have led him to the idea that it wasn't worth escaping and killing everyone would be a mercy. We're lucky that didn't happen with what turned out to be the truth!

Surprisingly I don't think there was anything from Case 3 itself that went unused. The benefits of roleplaying it out.

The last thing is something that could have appeared in Chapter 4 but didn't due to a mix of me not asking for permission for it and none of the characters considering looking for it. The voice recorder and Cho's notes. There were a few possibilities for what he had recorded. Early on I considered the idea of him recording one message from Shujin and one for Zack between the crime and the investigation but there wasn't enough time between the events. So I decided that he likely recorded himself talking about his two theories and considering who made the most sense to be behind the game with the recording ending on him commenting that he was out of pages in his notebook and he should see if the Storeroom has a spare one before the recording cuts off. This was never heard due to noone considering checking his carriage.

And I think that's about everything!

jaemin hated potions. you however, loved potions so much, you were snape's favourite student. and that only added fuel to the fire. jaemin despised how much better you are at potions than him, and the fact that his parents compared his grades to yours didn't help either.

And it's all specifically designed for them too 🥺 and when they're a bit older, Hobie brings them along R's shop so they could help their mum make outfits (r really values their opinions!) like they would have the best ideas too bc duh, their mum and dad are both icons!! Just look at Hobie! Also every time they come visit, R's staff literally cannot focus bc they're so adorable bossing everyone around (especially mona, the girl boss) and they can't help not to listen to their squeaky voices and awwe at their little suits that you of course custom made for them ❤️

Every special occasion they trot over to the shop for a fitting after they helped you in designing them. Hobie always loves those days bc he always ends up having something new too, whether it's a similar jacket to b and r or a new shirt that is similar to the one you designed on that day he confessed his feelings for you (he's hiding tears btw)

The Maddening Catch-22 Of Transgender Love

Dear TTN,

I accept the fact that I am attracted to trans women.

One thing that has stopped me for a while is when I see posts of [transgender] activists such as Serena Daniari or others that complain about men that like trans women.

She is very intelligent. She seems the type of trans woman I would date in terms of intelligence, attractiveness, and the fact that she is at a similar level both in career and studies. It’s just an example, I obviously don’t plan on dating her.

The common thing I see from transgender women on social media is this: they keep complaining about men liking them for their penis or not caring about other parts of them, or liking them due to being trans or being secretive about them.

I have contacted lots of them to encourage them. I shared my admiration for them, for what they do, their journey, etc. Sometimes I ask their advice on dating properly with trans women, how to be respectful or how to navigate things appropriately.

Do you know how many of them replied? Zero. And minutes and days later they keep posting complaining about men. They express disgust, say we like them for the wrong reasons or complaining about people misgendering them.

This shocks me because it’s as if they just have a filter that selects the wrong stories and they decide to pay attention to them. And then they just picture people like us as disgusting or DL. Which just creates more shame.

Because on one side they ignore us when we properly talk to them as other humans, but at the same time they talk about us as chasers and disgusting people they generalize on. And then, the icing on the cake is, then they complain about being single and not finding someone that loves them as another human.

It’s very frustrating because you see intelligent, educated, attractive trans women with good careers, and in some way role models that want to help other trans women have easier lives, not being able to date with men that could love them due to solely their mindset and what they want to see.

And with their posts on the topic they amplify the false story that there’s no men out here that want to date trans women who sees them as equals which can cause other trans women that follow them to adopt that vision.

It would be great if bridges could be created with those activists, to help them see that this is not the case. And to help spread the healthy image of relationships between trans women and cis men. Although I am not sure if they are ready to accept that and want to keep at that world perspective that nearly everyone is either against them or wants them for DL sex. I tried explaining but they just ignore me.

What do you think can be done about that?

I would like to date a trans woman like them but I feel I would just get called chaser due to their beliefs. I am not sure if in my country there’s women like them though.

Living in Spain

Dear Living in Spain,

Bridging isn’t necessary. We do not build bridges with transgender women activists who tell stories you talk about. Good reasons support our position. Perhaps you’ll agree with some, since you know stories’ role in shaping people’s experience.

For one, intelligence and career/professional success get trumped by stories every time. You see this in the responses you’re (not) getting and in what these women use their intelligence/success to amplify. A lot of these women’s success depends largely on them amplifying stories their followers/audiences share. Especially so on social media. I’m sure know the popular Upton Sinclair quote:

For a trans woman who’s success (and ongoing income) depends on ongoing and increasing followership through social media, offering opinions contrary to the majority of what that followership believes isn’t in her best interest.

Doing so won’t increase her success or income. It likely will do the opposite. So her vested financial interest is – keep doing what she’s doing (and saying). Which means repeating what her audience believes.

Secondly, many set their own agenda at completely cross-purposes with our agenda. Hypothetical example: a successful transgender woman “activist” moved through sex work on her way to her success. While experiencing very “low level” trans-attracted/chaser men, she developed extremely bitterness-triggering negative stories about men. She told them for a long time, shared them with friends, and got a LOT of agreement/validation of her experiences through her rise on social media.

The momentum of those stories will keep her in that bitterness long after attaining success. The only one who can change that momentum: her. But she must be willing to do that. First, she must know that she tells such stories, and she must understand what’s available in changing them. That alone represents a tall order.

For most such women, that level of self-awareness doesn’t exist. Some barely even register their stories! It’s all happening in them on auto-pilot!

So were we to try changing their mind, it would just cause their stories to “dig in” deeper. We know this from personal experience.

Self-loathing in a pretty, intelligent, successful shell

Another reason we won’t waste our time trying to convince activists otherwise is because a lot of their frustration, anger and revulsion at trans-attracted men is about their own lack of self-worth, insecurity and self-loathing.

Think about it. Many, many transgender women (and we’ve talked with a lot) go through years, sometimes decades HATING what they are. Especially hating body parts they interpret as reminding them who they aren’t.

So when a guy offers his natural acceptance and appreciation of a trans woman for all they are (penis included) doesn’t it seem natural that trans woman who hates parts of herself will react vehemently towards someone who wants them – in part – for the part(s) they hate?

Just because someone is intelligent and successful doesn’t mean they come equipped with introspection and self-awareness/knowledge. Sometimes the most intelligent and successful are the ones with the least self-awareness! And the most self-loathing…

And once they remove the offending part, they now must contend with the fact that they find themselves in a kind of no-man’s land: on the one hand, some men don’t want them because they aren’t “really” women. On the other, those who do want them, they say, want them for what they no longer have. we’re speaking from their perspective of their stories.

The thing is, it’s fine to want intelligence and success. But first on your list should be a story match. The only way to do that is by first entertaining stories you want in a partner. Everything else follows that.

The catch 22 of trans-attraction

You’re absolutely right, and, while being right you affirm the next reason why we won’t bridge with activists. Because on one side they ignore us when we properly talk to them as other humans, but at the same time they talk about us as chasers and disgusting people they generalize on. This is the crux of the dilemma for both sides. Once you have a story set, or what we call a “belief constellation”, in place, it’s very difficult dislodging yourself so you can see outside that story set. The struggle trans-attracted men have is exactly what you say: society generally shames us, and the very women we are attracted to do too. So we end up self-shaming, self-loathing and in that blame transgender women for our predicament. But for every person struggling, the struggle is self-inflicted. There are no victims.

Yes, trans women do all this complaining, all the while complaining about being single. But think about stories and realities they create. Of course a trans woman who has such stories will end up single…or with a woman. No one can create around their beliefs (stories). That’s why we ONLY work with men and trans women who are willing to examine their beliefs and stories and change them.

So these (and many more) are reasons why we don’t put any time trying to build bridges. With activists or any other trans or trans-attracted person ignorant about what creates their reality, there’s no bridge to be built that will effectively span the chasm created by bogus stories.

Here’s the good news:

There are more trans women out there than you think you know. Many of them don’t have that superficial success depending on constant story agreement. Many exceed your success and intelligence – no offense. And besides, assuming you’re monogamous you only need one! That’s easy to get!

But think about this now: Your email arrived PACKED with as many stories about those women, stories not dissimilar from stories these women have about you. So you’re kinda in the same boat, aren’t you? Rather than trying to reach these “activist” women, who you see as successful and thus prime candidates for your attention and affection, why not instead change YOUR stories, and thereby your attention, to those transgender women who are out there who already meet you on the story level, profession level and success level? They are out there, but, just like you say about Serena, you can’t see them if you keep going after girls like Serena then complaining when they ignore you.

Here’s something else to consider. And we’re just casually sharing here. Isn’t it obvious from your observation and experience that intelligence and career success aren’t enough to find a match? We agree with you, there are many very successful transgender women out there. More than you know, we promise.

But no amount of intelligence/career success will overcome stories you keep telling, or they keep telling, that keep you from being a match. In fact, intelligence and success, as you saw, often hinder one’s ability to see different perspectives. The very perspectives that can bring them everything they want.

You don’t need activists. The Transamorous Network doesn’t either. If you want to enjoy fulfilling, happy cis-trans relationships, or just one, attend to your stories first. Then, armed with better-feeling stories, relax and watch as your reality changes to match your new level of story creation.

Sexuality Headcanon: Honestly, I haven't really thought about it. It's not really relevant to ttn at all. I don't think he's straight, though. Might also make sense to also make them some flavour of aromantic since I can't really imagine her in a romantic relationship at all?

Gender Headcanon: Probably a multigender identity, definitely some flavour of genderqueer. Shiro uses he/they/she pronouns and I'm probably going to add some neopronouns as well. No it/its for Shiro under any circumstances.
