slaps down a teaser for a susano-o/tsukuyomi fic that's temporarily titled "tsukuyomi fucking dies (he gets better tho)" and would you believe it's a comedy with some angst
-
In 1919, Susano-o had issued Tsukuyomi a challenge.
Tsukuyomi couldnât recall the exact words of it, but it had been issued on the heels of a rather unpleasant time in both of their lives, licking their respective wounds from a mismatched fight against a few Baltic gods. Bethel hadnât intervened in what they saw as a âminor skirmishâ between differing branches, and it had been one of the very few and rare times that Tsukuyomi had actually died. Retrospectively, the challenge probably hadnât been all that serious, just uttered from a place of frustration and worry.
Still, Tsukuyomi never ignored a thrown gauntlet from his brother, and as they slinked away from the Baltic gods with their figurative tails between their legs, Tsukuyomi strove to prove Susano-o wrong from that point on.
âAnd thatâs another one to add to the pileâŚâ
Tsukuyomi popped the cap back onto the pen, admiring the glistening red âXâ cutting the bold â31â on the calendar. Flipping it shut, the glossy cover of a cat poking its head out of a teapot (Susano-o was the one who got it for him) peered back at him. Tsukuyomi tucked the pen away into his internal space and picked up the calendar, feeling rather smug as he plotted out the teleport coordinates to where Susano-o dwelt.
In his quarters⌠well, it was four in the morning, and Susano-o did enjoy sleeping in.
Now, while Tsukuyomi was not the strongest of his siblings, or even the most magically skilled or efficient, he was second-to-none when it came to spatial displacement. His accuracy in teleporting was pinpoint, and the speed of his calculations were rarely outraced. So, it was thoroughly intentional when he hopped across the space between his room and Susano-oâsâŚ
âŚand landed full force on his slumbering brotherâs gut.
âArhgck!â Susano-o half-yelped, half-gurgled, not even his rock-hard abs prepared to handle all 120kg of Tsukuyomi slamming into it (Proto-Fiend bodies were, as a rule, crushingly heavy - the humans were working on it).
âOh. My. I apologise. I mustâve miscalculated my jump,â Tsukuyomi said insincerely, delicately hopping off his brother and not even bothering to hide his smile. âI hope I didnât wake you.â
Susano-o made some highly amusing hissing noise as he curled up on his side, disorientated and pained, but knowing his brother was making mischief at his expense. âUrk. Tsukuyomi, youâŚâ
âYes. Well, anyway.â Tsukuyomi held up the calendar. âI came to remind you of the date.â
There was nothing funnier than Susano-oâs expression of profound angry bafflement, his golden eyes squinting up at him in the gloom. His wild, dark blue hair was unbound, and though it was waist-length, some stubborn locks were trying to stick out in all sorts of directions, making Susano-o look remarkably like some sort of hermit-creature blinking out of its cave after being rudely disturbed.
ââŚthe date? Brother, itâs-â he paused to look at his bedside clock, his voice rising in indignation: â-four in the morning!?!?â
âItâs been eighty years since you issued that challenge back in 1919-â
Susano-o threw his pillow at him.
Tsukuyomi neatly sidestepped it. âAnd so, as is now tradition, I return this calendar to you-â
âIt is not even dawn, Tsukuyomi! Even Amaterasu still sleeps!â Susano-o groaned, flopping back onto his bed - the poor frame wheezed its protest, if Tsukuyomi was heavy then Susano-o was dense (in both sense of the word).
âWhich means thereâs still twenty hours of the day left!â Susano-o abruptly declared, bolting upright. His sour expression instead turned smug, his eyes glittering with a challenge realised and a challenge met. âNo, you are celebrating a victory you have not yet won, brother! Twenty hours is plenty for you to fail!â
âHm. Yes. Twenty hours to achieve that which 701256 hours hasnât,â Tsukuyomi drawled.
ââŚhow did you calculate that so quickly- never mind!â Susano-o crossed his arms. âWhat you are doing now is called âtempting fateâ, brother! So foolish, so unwise. You have finally crossed the line now!â
âIs that so,â Tsukuyomi said, never putting much stock in fate. He had seen humans overcome it so many times that the innate resignation all gods felt towards it was faded in him. âWell, Iâll give you leave to say âI told you soâ if I befall some sort of calamity before the new years.â
âOh, you are really tempting it now.â
Tsukuyomi scoffed quietly, tossing the calendar onto the bed beside his brotherâs leg. âIâm quivering in my shoes. Now, enjoy your rest, brother. Iâll be spending this time contemplating what your forfeit will be.â
Susano-o picked up the calendar and pointed it threateningly at him. âMark my words, brother, before the day is out⌠you are going to have a demise so humiliating it will be remembered for decades to come.â
âRemember, it doesnât count if you kill me,â Tsukuyomi said mildly.

smtii is still rotting my brain and i saw a similar post recently talking about similar themes with flynn, but i thought it was really sad how right after the first daleth fight everyone pretty immediately settles on calling aleph the messiah and thanking him for finally arriving to save them, and then afterwards, everyone just relies on aleph to take care of things. like, at this point he doesn't know that that's the whole point of his existence in the first place (tho once you find that out or if you already knew like i did, i feel like that just makes it extra sad) so from aleph's perspective, he's gotten this messiah role pushed onto him when he still hardly remembers who he even is, and is probably only doing all this cus he feels like he has to, or maybe his creation made him hardwired to lean into heroism (which i would argue is even MORE sad cus even after getting his memories wiped ("a little more than the center had implanted") he still can't fully escape the purpose of the project đđ) so he ultimately doesn't really get much of a choice. and nobody seems all that concerned with the toll this could be taking on him even tho it seems like the only people who knew ab the messiah project were the people directly involved (except since hiroko had her memories wiped i wouldn't really count her until after she meets mekata). not to mention that they were staking their lives on this one guy, but it totally could've turned into another daleth situation where aleph is just ANOTHER false messiah đ
it's just so deeply sad to create this little guy for the purpose of filling this one huge role and nobody ever seems all that concerned with how he's feeling. it makes the atmosphere feel so lonely in a different way from nocturne
man............what a week ruiner!!!!!!!
#smt2#smtii#shin megami tensei ii#megaten#smtii's atmosphere really is a different kind of loneliness from nocturne's in a painful way#like in nocturne theres really jack shit to talk to except for the manikins and some spirits or the occasional demon#but in smtii theres people to talk to everywhere yet it still feels like aleph is all alone even with beth or hiroko with him#maybe it just feels extra lonely since i was coming from vengeance which has a much more whimsical feeling atmosphere#compared to other games in the series#plus nahobino had aogami and tsukuyomi checking in on him sometimes#i know the post talks ab the dangers of the population relying on this one guy to save them#but it just reminded me of how depressing it is that aleph has the same situation#periodically something will remind me of how depressing the circumstances of aleph's creation and existence is#and i think ab it for the rest of the day#i love aleph sm he deserves so much more loveđ MY SHAYLAAAAđđđ

Uchihas reacting to âI hate youâs
Request are open! Request rules here!
Characters: Sasuke Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, Madara Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha
Warning: slight angst, nothing else.
Obito Uchiha (Villain)
⧠âI hate you,â he stood there, his expression unwavering as your voice seethed with anger. Your voice could cut through thick glass as you shouted at him, but he felt nothing whatsoever. Even as your eyes bore into him, filled with a hatred so intense it could burn a hole through his soul, it wasnât directed towards him. No, not ever. Yet despite the venom in your words, he didnât flinch. Instead he listened intently, his expression indifferent. âThatâs okay,â he responded, his voice devoid of any apparent emotion. In any other scenario, he wouldâve crumpled under the weight of your vitriol, weeping and pleading for an explanation as to why you might hate him. But not now, because he already knew why.
⧠He knew how you mourned him for years, believing him dead and gone, only to find out the hard way the reality. He knew you visited his grave, and wished that you were in his position. He knew that your trustâyour perspective of reality had been shattered the very moment his mask fell from his face. With a heavy heart, he continued âI would too,â his gaze never left yours, watching as tears streamed down your reddened cheeks. It had been years since heâd seen you this close, yet you looked young and pretty. The prettiest heâs ever seen you, even with tears glistening on your pretty face.
⧠âI hate you so much,â your voice cracked with pain and resentment as you spoke to him. Your Obito. The revelation that he was still alive, but causing so much pain and suffering shattered your world, leaving you emotionally fractured. âWhy? Why do all of this? Why hurt so many?â You ask, searching his face for remorse but finding none, âBecause this world is broken,â he answers steadily, his voice awfully gentle to you. âYou have nothing in this reality,â his arms open, showing you the distress and chaos that is currently occurring around you. He wanted you to see how your comrades laid lifelessâto make you understand that you lost your friends, your family, your âhappy endingâ. â Let this happen, and you will be forever happy,â he pauses briefly, searching for the right words to say. He chose his words carefully, locking eyes with you, âWith me. With a better version of me. One that will keep you happy for the rest of your life,â Despite your heart-wrenching cries, he did nothing to stop this war. As you wept before him, he knew your pain would be temporary. He knew that once his plan took actionâthe infinite Tsukuyomiâyou would find happiness. Even if you hate him now, he reassured himself, you wouldnât think the same after his plan was completed.
Obito Uchiha (Shinobi)
⧠Obito, a strong and beloved jonin from the Leaf village, stood there, his chest tightening at the words that just came out of your mouth. His expression shifted as his mind struggled to comprehend what you had said. Suddenly, without a second thought, his words slipped through his lips as he tried to make sense of what you told him, âWhat⌠did you say?â he asked carefully, his eyes frantically darting over your face as if searching for an answer. You met his gaze, repeating your words with unwavering conviction, âI said, I hate you,â
⧠As you repeat yourself, Obitoâs heart sank to the bottom of his stomach, his throat constricting as it became harder to breathe. He could handle any other response, any other thing you could have said, but hearing your harsh words was almost too much for him. âWhy? What did I do? I donât understand,â he manages to ask in desperation, trying his best to move closer to you. His heart clenched and turned inside his chest, and he boiled with fear. He loves you! He loves you to the moon and back! Why would you say that you hate him when he eats, sleeps, and breathes for you? You were his everything, so how could you hate him when he loved you so dearly?
⧠âBecause you never notice how much I try for you. Youâre always looking for Rinâs approval, and what about me? Iâm left in the dark with nothing. Iâm done with you. Iâm done with trying to make you realize Iâve been in love with you for years,â you pour your heart out to him, desperate and hurt, and thatâs when he realizes what this was about. Though his heart slightly fluttered at your revelation, he still felt awful for the way you were feeling all this time. The tingling sensation in the back of his mind kept bothering him as he examined every inch of your expression. âThatâs⌠why?â He asks with a drop of his shoulder, sighing in pure relief at your confession, which only fueled the burning anger inside you. âI thought it was for something else I mightâve done⌠(Y/N), I donât know if youâve ever noticed, but Iâm in love with you,â his confession caught you in surprise, his voice revealing his true feelings with no hesitation. What once was nervousness and anxiety had now been replaced with determination as he yearned to seek for a solution. It was true, he was deeply in love with you, but people still thought he had something for Rin when he didnât. However, he did hide the fact that he liked you out of fear of another rejection. With Rin, he handled it well, but with you? He wouldnât be able to take it. âIâm sorry if I ever made you feel horrible. Iâm sorry I never noticed, and Iâm sorry I hid it from you for so long. I love you, over anything there is in this world. The only thing I want is you, always and forever you,â
Madara Uchiha
⧠âI hate you,â your words felt like a slap to the face, making Madara turn around to face you swiftly. Although his face was deemed expressionless, his body tensed and tightened the more he processed your words. He had obviously been taken aback by your audacity to say such things, but he tried his best to hide his discomfort. With arms crossed over his chest, he scoffed and parted his lips, ready to give you a piece of his mind. âGet over it, woman,â he snarls at you with authority, and slight annoyance. You, his wife, should never say that to him. Heâs given you everything; a home, a family, and more importantly, love. âYou are acting like a child over something that should have never pestered you in the first place,â although your words had not hit him hard when you first spat them, they started to annoy him the more they set in, âIf you hate me, why even decide to say yes when I proposed? If you are going to bother me with such nonsense, I will not bother with you,â
⧠His words were meant to hurt you as much as you hurt him, and when he notices the pain in your eyes, heâs satisfied⌠until heâs not. Until that annoying tingling feeling lingers under his skin as he watches your eyes brim with tears. The tingling feeling that pulled on the tendons of his heart any time you cried was crawling under every inch of his body. âOh please, do not start with the tears,â he groaned in annoyance, but the salty tears were already streaming down your puffy cheeks. Despite this, he didnât move an inch to comfort you, but watched you as you cried for a couple of minutes until he released an exasperated sigh. âWhy? Why do you care so much for those people when all they have done is hurt you?â He asks with irritation, referring to your clan members whoâve hurt you in the past. He has said something out of line, and you argued with him about it, which ended you two up here.
⧠âBecause we should be better people than them. Violence should never be the answer,â you sniffle with clenched fist, âBut that is something you seem to never stop thinking about,â you admit, trying to hold in your tears. You didnât want to keep crying like this in front of him. You wanted to be strong, âAnd if you think I am such a burden, then why keep this ring on my fingerâ,â you were surprised when his fingers wrap around your wrist to stop you from taking off the ring he had gifted you the night he proposed, âBecause I know who I married. The same nagging woman I am with now, is the same nagging woman I fell in love with. If I had any regrets of marrying you, you would be back in your clan,â he scoffs and pulls your head to his chest with an annoyed expression âI love you, you stupid woman,â to any other person, your relationship mightâve seemed strange, but to you, this moment showed you just how much he truly loved you. Even if he has weird ways of showing it.
Shisui Uchiha
⧠Wait, he didnât quite hear you well. Wait, what did you say? He turned towards you with a raised brow, his mouth slightly parted as he tried to figure out if you had said what he thought you said. Noticing his lost expression, you had no choice but to repeat yourself, much to your annoyance âI hate you,â this time, he did hear you. Loud and clear. To him, it felt like he took hours to respond to you, but in reality, his answer left his mouth almost immediately, âNo you donât,â It wasnât meant to be cocky, it just sounded like it was. At least, to you it sounded cocky, and it made you even angrier with him. It annoyed you that he never took you seriously, âOh, so now you think you know how I feel, do you?â you spat at him, hands clenching into tight fists as your eyes locked intensely, âYou never care about anything! You come home and sleep and donât even have time for me. I know you have a hard job, and I donât expect you to be there at my beck and call, but at least asking me how I am would be enough,â you stressed, waving your arms frantically around you in desperation. You had been like this all week, stressed and unable to talk to anyone, because the only person you could ever rant and banter about things that bothered you in life was barely there for you, and when he was, it was like he wasnât! He would barely listen to you anymore, and would expect you to listen to him. And you did, you always did. But you wanted something in return, and that was a sliver of his attention.
⧠âYou're telling me you hate me over something so little?â he asks with furrowed brows, making you even more annoyed, âOver something so little?â You repeated through gritted teeth. His face, for once, contorted into one of annoyance, something you had never seen on him before, âYes! Little! Because you know how my line of work is! You know that I barely have time to sleep, let alone waste my time with useless banter!â You were left speechless, standing in front of him with hurt eyes. âYeah, useless. Youâre right. Because my feelings donât matter,â you scoff, âThatâs not what Iââ you interrupt him by turning away, tears forming in the corner of your eyes as realization finally hits him. You werenât trying to waste his time, you just wanted to spend time with him. He had been so lost in his work, so busy caring for himself that he completely neglected you.
⧠âOh darling,â he takes your hand again, a frown painting his face, âIâm sorry, okay? I didnât mean any of the things I said. Iâm just stressed out. Everything's happening so fast, and the clan isnât helping at all.â he sighs and pulls you in towards him, engulfing you in his tight embrace, yet you didnât say anything, âI know Iâve been neglecting you, and you deserve better. Please, let me make it up to you,â he whispers into you hair as he lowers down to kiss your head, âI couldnât live with myself if I didnât have you by my side,â
Itachi Uchiha
⧠âI hate you,â you mumble under your breath as you look at your lover. No, he wasnât your lover anymore. He had left the village years ago, leaving you behind with a broken heart and a broken image of him. He was a monster who murdered his entire clan, and even though he had left years ago, he still looked the same as when he was still in the village, with only one difference. Those eyes. Those red eyes that stared deep into your soul. They terrified you. The eyes that you once loved and cared about so much looked down at you with no emotion. They were empty. They were dark. They were hurt. âI hate you, for everything that you did,â you pushed him, backing away from him with angry eyes. His cloak told you everything you needed to know. He was part of the Akatsuki, he was the enemy now. He was a traitor, and although your words were meant to hurt him, he closed his eyes and nodded, understanding your hatred towards him. âI understand,â he says in such a soft voice. His voice that you missed so much.
⧠You didnât understand why he came to visit you. Why come in the middle of the night to see you? Why? Why waste his breath coming back to see you when he knew you wanted nothing to do with him? Because this would be his final goodbye. There were only a handful of people Itachi cared forâTwo, to be exact. His brother, and the love of his life. He knew that soon heâd perish, and this was the final time he would ever see you again. Not that it mattered. He tried not to think about it, thinking it would make things worse. It would be better if he never came to see you, but his heart got the best of him, and so he sat there at your window, looking at you for one final time.
⧠âYou donât,â you clench your fist, hurt by his mere presence, âI donât want anything to do with you, and I will report you to the higher ups. Unless you came here to kill me, which I donât doubt,â you were defenseless, but you wouldnât go out without a fight. Never. You would fight until the very end, but soon you realized he wasnât there to kill you. âI have no need for that,â he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, âI came by my own selfishness. I donât expect you to understand, and I accept your hatred, which I deserve,â he looks at you, red eyes burning into yours, âI simply wanted to see you for a final time,â he smiles and reaches out for you, pushing your hair out of your face, âMy love,â and with that, your vision goes black as your consciousness slips away from you. You would wake up the next day tucked into your bed with a necklace tucked tightly in your hand.
Sasuke Uchiha
⧠Words never hurt this Uchiha, he was used to every awful thing anyone could throw at him. He cared too little about anything and everything, and that's what you hated the most about him. He barely cared about anything you did or said, at all times. He didnât care how you looked because he never complimented you, he didnât care how you acted because he barely spoke to you. You felt like you were in a relationship with a ghost, in fact, the comparison was not even close, because dating a ghost would be ten times better than this. And with every passing day of being emotionally neglected by your partner, today was no different. He was back in the village, and instead of coming to you firstâto his homeâhe decided it was better to meet with Naruto and Sakura over seeing his wife who waited patiently everyday for him. You questioned if the ring on your finger meant anything to him at all at that moment. Despite this,
⧠When he got home, you were so happy, yet he showed no sign of interest in anything you did for him. You cooked and he ate, saying nothing about the taste of your new recipe. In fact, he seemed like he didnât notice that you had learnt to cook a new dish just for him. Even so, you shrugged his annoying attitude off and asked about his day instead. Your question seemed to annoy the tired man as he became uninterested in mid conversation. When you asked him what was wrong, he shrugged you off. You kept questioning him until he snapped at you, telling you how you were annoying him with all your worries. This had been the final straw. You always gave everything in the relationship. You understood he wasnât the best at showing his emotions, but it didnât mean he could act like he didnât care about you. Like you were nothing. The argument got heated and it ended up with you opening your mouth without thinking. âI hate you!â After your words fell out of your mouth, the room fell silent. He who had been looking away from you, had now turned his full attention towards you, âYou donât mean that, stop being dramatic,â the sight of him rolling his eyes hurt you more than it ever did. âYou donât care about anything, Sasuke. I do everything to try and please you. I could even say I live for you, but itâs never enough! You donât take a sliver of your time to appreciate me. You think I have to be there for you whenever you need me, but can just leave whenever you want!â you yell, hitting the wall in frustration.
⧠âYou donât care about me! You don't love me anymore!â you were in a current state of pure anger, letting out everything you ever wanted to say to him. This makes him stand up and walk towards you, taking your wrist in his hand. You look up at him, tears of frustration prickling in the corner of your eyes. âIf I didnât love you, I wouldnât have married you. You mean a lot more to me than you think. I⌠Iâm sorry if I donât show it,â he sighs, âI love your cooking, I love your storiesâI love hearing about everything that happened throughout your day. Youâre the only thing I can think about when Iâm away,â he lets go of your wrist and places a hand on your cheek, âDonât hate me, because youâre the only important thing in my life. Youâre my wife, and IâŚâ he stops himself, trying to build the courage to complete his sentence. A small blush decorates his cheeks before he sighs, âI care for you a lot,â your husband wasnât perfect, but you still loved him a lot, and you knew he loved you too.

Sweet Dreams
Synopsis: You're caught in Madara's Infinite Tsukuyomi
Content: Uchiha Madara x Reader, gn!reader, konoha shinobi!reader, 4th ninja war, fluff
Word count: 737
A/N: an actual short one shot
âNow! Become one!â Madara shouted.
You were tired from fighting, tired from this war. It hadn't lasted so long, but it sure felt like it. Your whole body, which had been aching all night long, suddenly started to calm down. The pain stopped and you started to relax.
In the distance, other shinobi were panicking, unlike you. For you, not being able to move was a somewhat nice feeling. It gave you a strange sense of safety.
The light shining upon the battlefield was so bright, making it hard to see anything. However, vision wasnât your only sense being dulled. The rest of your body felt as if it were submerged in water, a tight pressure embracing you all around.
Maybe due to the night sky being so light, everything seemed unnaturally bright and vivid. The little you managed to see was weirdly slow, like the entire world slowed its pace down. You sweared that in the few seconds before closing your eyes, you were able to predict what direction the plants would sway before they did so. But your eyelids were too heavy all of a sudden, leaving you with no choice, but to close your eyes.
When you opened your eyes again, all the pressure and stress from before were lifted from your body. You felt cleaner, fresher and better than you had ever been. The sun was shining in the sky, and you were in the shade of a tree. A gentle breeze that didnât disturb your hair kept you in the perfect temperature. You didnât know where you were, but it didnât stop you from being so⌠happy. Right then and there, your worries had vanished.
You looked down from the sky, moving your face forward, and were met by a field of the prettiest flowers you had ever seen. The wind carried its smell to you, it was so good!
Walking towards the flower field, you spotted a silhouette. There, in the midst of the flowers, was Madara. He wasnât wearing armour nor did he look alien like during the war. You got scared and lowered yourself to the level of the flowers. Hopefully, youâd manage to hide yourself from him.
When he turned in your direction, your heart skipped a beat. You were done for! You barely managed to survive, only to run directly into Madara! Good heavens, your hands were trembling trying to cover your mouth so that you did accidentally scream. At least you would face your end by such a handsome man. Who said that.
The closer Madara got, the more you relaxed. You had accepted your fate. You didnât hold a chance against him in a fight. You closed your eyes in hope of a quick and painless death. Instead, a warm hard hand touched your cheek. You opened your eyes in reflex, staring straight into Madara's black eyes.
He gave you a soft smile as he caressed your blushing cheek.
You could barely believe what was happening. Of course, Madara was evil and a known public enemy, so you never shared your thoughts about him with anyone. For all that mattered, you would never â should never have a chance with him. Also, because he was dead long before you were born, but mostly because of the stigma of dating an evil traitor who attacked the village.
âStop it,â He said softly, âYou don't have to worry about such things anymore.â Madara continued to tell you in his deep voice that made your heart flutter in the battlefield.
You two were so close now, with him having lowered himself to your level. Both sitting in the flower field. The breeze lifted Madara's long hair until it reached you.
âGo ahead,â
You tried to control yourself so as to not touch his hair.
âYou can touch it, it's okay.â Madara repeated.
Still a bit suspicious, you were surprised he would let you do it. But his reassurances came in the perfect time to convince you, almost like he knew what was going through your mind. Either way, this was not an opportunity you would throw away.
You lifted your hand to feel his hair, and it was soft and voluminous. He came closer, moving his hand from your cheek to go around you and sat by your side. You leaned into his chest as you played with his hair. This day couldn't be better if you were dreaming.

You waited on the other side of the door, heart hammering in your chest. You'd stood there for nearly ten minutes at this point, trying to gather your courage, staring down a gold nameplate that read 'Tsukuyomi'. With a final, very deep breath, you raised your fist to knock, only to be startled out of the idea by your boss bellowing from the inside. "I haven't got all day."
You quickly scurried in, shutting the door behind you, nervously grooming yourself as you collected your bearings. "M-My apologies, sir." You squeaked, drawing closer. "Y-You wanted to see me?"
"You may not be aware of this, but I am an incredibly busy man." The crow scolded, hands folded neatly under his beak, elbows propped on the desk. "If I offer you my time, I'd advise against wasting it."
"O-Of course, sir," You bowed your head shamefully. "I-It won't happen again."
"I hope not," He nodded to the visitor's chair in front of his desk. sternly. "Sit." You do as he asked, swallowing dryly.
"Have I done something wrong, sir?" You asked, voice trembling as you peered up at him.
"Aside from interrupting me time and time again? No," He answered, beady vermillion eyes narrowing on you as if you were a field mouse. "As a matter of fact, the other heroes in this agency and I have been talking and..." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his beak. "As much as it pains me to admit, we agree you deserve a reward for your hard work."
You can't contain the smile that cracks across your face, eyes sparkling with awe at his attempt at praise. "R-Really, what is it?"
For the first time, he smiled- no, smirked at you. His expression was predatory and devious, but you tried to push down how uneasy it made you. You were finally being recognized for your dedication to the agency and you couldn't be happier.
"My, aren't you eager?" He teased, tilting his head back, motioning for you to come over to him. "You may have the others convinced you're an angel sent from above to organize their lives for meager pay," He cooed, rolling his desk chair back and pulling you by the hips in front of him, slowly turning you to face the other way. "But I am not so easily swayed."
You couldn't even find the words to reply, not that he would have allowed you to speak over him anyway. Your face glowed red like a cattle branding iron and felt just as hot as he continued, one palm flat on the small of your back, giving you a gentle forward nudge. You pressed your hands to the desk, leaning over in as modestly as you could.
"That being said, if you were able to convince me that you have this agency's best interest at heart, I might be inclined to give the final vote in favor of your new contract." He hinted, eyes darkening as he surveyed the doughy surface of the backs of your thighs, trailing the seem that ran up the legs of your pantyhose. "Which of course, would include a handsome raise and a very nice benefit package. But the choice is inevitably yours. Your position here is not in jeopardy if you decline."
You finally nodded shyly, just once. "W-What would I need to do to convince you?"
-----
"Just like that, perfect," Tsukuyomi sighed, hand still pressed to the small of your back, easing you up and down. He felt so powerful, sitting in his big leather office chair, watching his secretary do all the work for him. Your knees trembled and the muscles in your thighs burned from the odd angle, but you did as you were told, sitting fully into his lap before dragging yourself into a near stand. You repeated this workout for what felt like millennia, but you couldn't deny that it was worth your while.
The crow marveled at the sight of you, back arched, straining to keep up with his command, pencil skirt pushed up your back. Your dark gray pantyhose now had an obscene hole, only big enough for him to fit through and your panties were unceremoniously pushed to the side, leaving little to catch the fallout. "Good girl, you certainly deserve a raise, don't you?" He cooed, head tilted back in ecstasy as you rode him from the comfort of his chain.
You nodded with a pitiful whine, only to feel a sharp smack to your rump which you were sure left a tight fishnet pattern on your skin thanks to your pantyhose. "Go on then, tell me you deserve that raise. You want it, don't you?" He ordered, his palm lingering on your backside, caressing it, as if to soothe the sting.
"I-I..." you whimpered, tears pricking your eyes as drool dripped down your chin. "I-I deserve a raise..."
"Oh, you don't sound very sure of yourself," He feigns ignorance, sighing. "I don't think I can in good conscience sign off on a reward you don't feel you deserve."
"I-I do...deserve it." You argued weakly, knees buckling a bit from the strain they were under.
"Then convince me," He encouraged, smacking your behind again, but not near as hard as this time. "Say: 'I deserve a damned raise, Tsukoyomi, sir!'" He ordered, taking the initiative to pull you down onto him to penetrate you even deeper.
"I-I can't say that..." You refused meekly, dipping your head against the desk momentarily, only to be straightened again by his harsh actions.
"Need I remind you that this is all for your benefit?" He asked, his breath hitching a bit when he bottomed out entirely, not that you noticed. "It brings me no pleasure to have to spend even more money on your labor. Now, do you want that raise, or not?"
"I-I do-!" You whined, throwing your head back, only to have the hero catch a fistful of your hair.
"Then say it!" He demanded, shifting up to stand, pounding into you hatefully as his chair rolled away behind him. "Say it or the offer is off the table, I won't wait for you to decide what you want!"
You finally snapped, feeling your cervix begin to bruise, melting into the desk, coating his paperwork with drool and smudged makeup. "I-I deserve a damn raise, Tsukuyomi!" You shouted, tears streaming down your cheeks. "I-I deserve so much more than what I make for putting up with you all! I deserve a six-figure salary just for putting up with you alone!"
Tsukuyomi's eyes darkened as he let out a low chuckle, incredibly aroused by your outburst. "That's right, tell me all about it, Feather," He huffed, finally convinced as he watched you work yourself silly on his cock. "You've got a hard job, don't you? Keeping up with three pro heroes all by yourself?" You nodded, moaning a confirmative hum. "And I'm just awful to you, aren't I?"
"T-Terrible..." Admit ina mousy tone, nearly braindead from how he was treating you.
"Let's start over, shall we? I w-want to turn over a new leaf, be a better boss." He chuckled, feeling his high crescendo begin to build. "Why don't we start with twenty-five percent pay raise, along with 401K, vision a-and- a-ahhh..." He trailed off, beginning to lose himself. "M-Medical insurance..."
You gritted your teeth as the knot in your tummy pulled tight and tighter. Suddenly you smirked weakly. "A-And dental?"
Your boss was taken aback to be sure, halting for a moment before gripping your hips tightly, bracing himself. "Let me cum inside?" He proposed with a devious smirk which only widened as you nodded, messed bun bouncing with the motion. "Deal."
-----
"I'll draw up the paperwork this afternoon," Tsukuyomi said sternly, clearing his throat and smoothing his costume out, watching you do the same with your office attire. "I will have to have another meeting with Tentacole and Tail-Man to discuss the negotiation."
You nodded with a serene smile, shifting awkwardly, thighs glued together. "Thank you, Tsukuyomi, sir," You began tidying up his desk as if nothing had ever happened, taking his coffee mug as you turned to leave. "I'll bring you a fresh cup of coffee."
"Thank you." He nodded, an air of professionalism surrounding him.
"Sir?" You asked before you got to the door, still squirming uncomfortably. "May I be granted an extended lunch? I'd like to go home to change." The way he smirked at your request made you incredibly uneasy.
"Permission denied."

I just realized how dumb the second âWhatâs under Kakashiâs maskâ episode is so fun but also so stupid cause both Hinata and Neji can see through clothes with the Byakugan and one might say Iâm wrong cause weâre only ever shown chakra points BUT in Tentenâs infinite Tsukuyomi it is confirmed the Byakugan can see through clothes and in the Pain Arc that it can see through objects like cards

MichiâŚ. Shinsouâs hero name⌠how are we feeling?? Itâs okay but def not what I expected đ
Leaks for those unaware:

Ok, being a huge MHA fan once I saw an update about Shinso I nearly cried on instinct but now some time has passed I'm able to think about it more
It doesn't seem too bad for a hero name? There's worse after all: Tail Man, Sugar Man, Invisible Girl, Grape Juice, etc
Still, I like to think we as a fandom have grown close to the conjectured name MindJack for him so it's certainly a little unfamiliar
That being said, while I do wish his hero name had something to do a little more with his quirk, I do like the name NightHide (it's cheesy but so are most of the Hero names - look at All Might's!)
It fits the same pattern Horikoshi goes through when he's made most of the other Hero names, which I like because it fits Shinso in just a little more (so nice seeing him not sticking out anymore but now a part of the group)
It also makes sense in hindsight that his hero name doesn't allude to his quirk because the whole point of his quirk is depending on others not knowing what it is
That's why I'm a little confused that he seems to be a Pro Hero instead of an Underground Hero? I feel that with a quirk like his he might be better suited for the Underground life (most would speculate based on his similarities to Aizawa after all)
Maybe he wanted to forge his own path? Maybe he just likes being part of the group? Aizawa only really had Hizashi and Nemuri growing as a hero, so he might've been better suited for the loneliness that came with being an underground hero. Shinso throughout the series seems to always be surrounded by people, so he's probably more used to it than solitude like Aizawa (just speculation)
That being said I definitely liked the Shinso cameo, it made my day (because most of the leaks seemed to bring lots of pain to me ૮( Ěł Ń ĚŤ Ń Ěł )á)
I might share the rest of the leaks I got from Twitter actually, this is very exciting for me (very exhausting too)
That being said, look at him in the back!
I really hope he kept his original Hero outfit we saw in the anime because I thought that looked fantastic, so that's why I'm a little worried about people talking about how his outfit looks more like Aizawa's (â ´â ďźâ Ďâ ďźâ ď˝â )
As much as I like the Aizawa - Shinso dynamic, I want to see Shinso grow! I want to see him carve out his own path in life!

I'm always happy to get Shinso content at this point so I can't be too picky, that being said it's not a bad name at all! (´âď˝)
Edit:
I feel the need to point out in Japanese it'll sound a little different than when it's spoken in English
In English, "Night" and "Hide" sound a little similar, only due to the middle "I"
In Japanese, "Night" will be said similar to "Nai-to" (high to low pitch) and hide will be "hai-do" (since this is also high to low pitch, the D is sharper and sounds similar to the T in "to" in "Nai-to")
It just sounds a little more uniform in Japanese, so I kind of understand why more people are put off by it in standard English
It's an okay name, not bad, and I think it actually fits Horikoshi's habits when it comes to Hero names -â áâ á´Ľâ áâ -
"SunEater"
"EraserHead"
"All Might"
"Red Riot"
"BackDraft"
Combining 2 English words into 1 typically (obviously with exceptions like "Ingenium" or "Tsukuyomi")
"EdgeShot"
"Loud Cloud"
Overall he's just one to come up with quick, cheesy, partial English names for his characters - I think we've gotten so used to calling these people by their hero names that we forget how odd they must sound to outsiders (I remember thinking "Eraserhead" was a weird name for awhile as a kid actually) (â ŕšâ ÂŻâ âĄâ ÂŻâ ŕšâ )

I wasn't expecting to get his Hero name in this chapter but it's certainly a nice surprise!

why do you hate itachi so much?
Because he's one of the worst written characters in the entire manga bar, none. The guy is NOT a fucking hero, good guy or anything, he's a bad guy through and through.
This guy willingly betrayed his own people and family, selling them out to the government who wanted to destroy them all. He knew about Obito and that he was behind the 9-Tails attack but said nothing to anyone. He discriminated against his own people and slaughtered them all to the last child. He cast Tsukuyomi on his own parents and brutally murdered them, tortured his own little brother beyond imagine with one torture session putting Sasuke in a fucking coma, one he would've never gotten out of if it wasn't for that bitch Tsunade and that's the only good Tsunade did in the series. Itachi thought he was wiser and more noble than his own people, which was pure and utter arrogance. When brought back as an edo, he said that a 7-year-old Sasuke could've changed the clan. He called himself Itachi Uchiha of Konoha and that he specifically had no regrets he was a massive piece of shit in life and death.
None of his plans make any kind of fucking sense. He wanted to save Konoha from war even though the other villages wouldn't have attacked for their own reasons.
Kumo already had a treaty in place after the Hyuga Incident, and it was preoccupied with gathering and collecting jutsus as well as kidnapping kids with kekkei genkai and rare bloodline abilities.
Iwa felt threatened by Kumo's growing militarization, and as such, Ohnoki was busy hiring the Akatsuki to do jobs for him to counter Kumo.
Thanks to Obito controlling Yagura, Kiri was in a massive state of chaos and strife with the bloodline purges and the various defections.
Suna was already extremely weak to attack Konoha on its own, and that weakness was present even before Gaara was born, and it just got worse after his birth, with his murderous rampages that wiped out half of his village and that's why Suna hired Orochimaru and his Sound village for assistance in the Chunin Exams.
So Itachi saved Konoha from zero potential wars, especially when none of the other villages attacked after Obito's, Orochimaru's, and Pain's assaults in the series.
He practically sent Sasuke gift wrapped to Orochimaru or Danzo. He knew about Obito and Pain's plans and yet did nothing about them, which just screwed over Konoha immensely.
He was never a prodigy or anything, unlike Sasuke. His fights are just him using genjutsu on his opponents and overpowering them with it, which just childish and stupid. He pulled Susanoo, Mirror Yata, and the Tsoka Blade out of his ass.
That's not even getting into his fanbase and how morally bankrupt they are.
This fucker is all over the place and doesn't make sense. Dushman-e-jaan has posts that go into greater detail about how this guy doesn't make sense, and I recommend you read them as she does an infinitely better job at explaining my dislike for Itachi than I have.

I wrote a little Oshi no Ko fanfic. Warning: SPOILERS post ch 163 below.
Today has been a hard day for those of us in the OnK community who've read the next chapter leak so I wrote this to cope. I can't claim it to be IC at all but anyway, here it is:
The first thing he sees when he opens his eyes is an unfamiliar ceiling. No, that's not quite right. When his eyes come into better focus he spots a hairline crack running a few inches down from the light fixture, perhaps made when it was installed. He used to look at it sometimes after Ai tucked them in for story time.
It reminded him of the sterile hospital room where Sarina lived out the remainder of her life. Had she ever torn her eyes from the hodgepodge of Ai merchandise carefully arranged on her bedside table to look up, longing to see the ceiling of her room back home?
It takes a few moments to remember. The knife. His dad's twisted expression as they fell. The bone cold chill of the sea. The burning sensation in his lungs.
Aqua sits up and clutches at his stomach, expecting to see the sheets stained in red when he looks down, but both his shirt and the bedding are clean. There's no pain, either.
Aqua looks to his right. Oh. It's just another carefully crafted dream. There she is, sitting by his bed on a chair dragged in from the kitchen, her head lolled to the side in what looks like quite an uncomfortable sleeping position.
The room is exactly as he remembers. B Komachi posters are tacked to the walls and Ruby's pink stuffed bunny is propped up against the pillow on her bed across from him. Aqua casts a cursory glance at his surroundings before studying his mother's sleeping face. She looks very realistic. Tsukuyomi got every detail just right.
Ai twitches and then sits upright, blinking sleepily. Their eyes meet.
"Aqua!"
Ai all but hurls herself from her chair, wrapping her arms around his torso and pulling him into a crushing hug. Aqua makes a noise of protest.
"Ai, that's a little tight."
Ai doesn't reply, she just hugs him harder. Her shoulders start to shake. Aqua's arms remain limp on the bed. He can't bring himself to hug her back. He failed her. He couldn't save her and he couldn't even fulfill her final wish.
The seconds tick by until she finally lets go. She blinks back tears. That's strange. Ai doesn't cry. Maybe Tsukuyomi thought this would be more affecting.
"Your hair's gotten long." Ai brushes her fingertips over his bangs. "I could cut it for you."
"Okay." Aqua nods.
"Are you hungry?" Ai asks. "I've been practicing cooking. I hardly ever burn things these days, except yesterday when I got distracted and forgot I had rice on the stove. I really should get a rice cooker."
Ai's tone is as cheery as ever. She's rambling. Aqua cuts her off.
"No, I'm fine. Thanks."
There's an awkward silence. Ai stares unblinkingly at him like she's trying to memorize every detail of his countenance. It makes Aqua uncomfortable so he looks down at his lap. His fingers clutch at the sheets.
"I'm sorry," he says. What a stupid thing to say. "Sorry" doesn't change anything. "Sorry" is a selfish word.
"For what?" Ai's eyes still haven't left his face.
"For not protecting you." He's thought it a thousand times since it happened but never said anything like it aloud.
Ai's laugh makes him look up. The laugh doesn't quite reach her starry eyes.
"I'm your mother. I'm supposed to protect you. It's me whose sorry."
Aqua opens his mouth to protest but stops himself. How could he possibly explain why a toddler should have been able to stop a deranged stalker? It's not a conversation he's ready for, even in a fictional reality.
"Then I'm sorry forâ"
This time it's Ai who cuts him off.
"What's done is done. I don't want to hear you saying that." Her mouth turns downward, a grim line.
"But Ruby and Miyako and..." He can't bring himself to list the rest of them. He doesn't want to picture the sort of face Kana will make when she realizes he'll never be able to give her an answer.
Ai's hand finds her way to one of Aqua's, gently loosening his white-knuckled grip on the sheets. Her hand is small and warm when she wraps it around his.
"Aqua." He's never heard her sound so serious. He forces himself to meet her gaze.
"I've had a lot of time to think," Ai says. "There's nothing to do here but think." Ai wrinkles her nose, seeming to find the idea distasteful. "I've thought about what I wish I'd done differently. How I could have been a better mom. Things I should have said but couldn't. Or didn't."
Since when did Ai talk to him like she's speaking plainly from the heart? He's really going to need to tell Tsukuyomi this isn't an accurate depiction at all.
"Aqua." She says his name again, almost plaintively. As if she's the one asking for forgiveness.
"If I could have come back and fixed everything for you, I would have. If I could make this easier for them... for Ruby..." Ai's voice falters and her grip on Aqua's hand tightens momentarily. "She will pick herself up and continue to live. They all will. I believe that."
Aqua looks at Ai in disbelief. How can she say that? Ruby will pick herself back up? Look what happened when she thought her beloved sensei was gone. If this is supposed to be easing his guilt, it's not.
"She has Miyako," Ai adds gently. He's not sure if she's trying to convince him or herself. "I'll really have to thank her one of these days."
Aqua doesn't want to think about this anymore. He's ready for the dream to be over. He gently extracts his hand, ignoring the somewhat crestfallen look on Ai's face, and looks at the door.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Ai asks, following his gaze.
"Yeah," Aqua replies tersely.
Maybe he needs to leave the room for it to end. Aqua swings his legs over the side of the bed. Before Ai can stop him, he's already in the hallway of his childhood apartment. Ai calls after him, asking where he's going, but he doesn't turn back.
Aqua strides down the hall, yanks open the front door, and steps outside. He blinks and shields his eyes from the sun. The walkway is empty. The view of the city from Ai's high-rise apartment is just as he remembers. That stupid crow girl is nowhere to be seen.
Ai is by his side again, watching him worriedly. It begins to sink in. Aqua turns to her. He forgot how short she was. Even in this body, he can see the top of her head.
"Are we...?" Aqua can't bring himself to say the word "dead."
"Yep!" Ai smiles brilliantly.
"But Tsukuyomi said you were gone. That your soul returned to the stars and the sea." It sounds odd when he says it, like a line from a play.
"Tsukuyomi?" Ai is stumped until she remembers the glimpses she got of her children's lives. "Oh! That strange little girl who kept following you around. She's a bit of a menace, isn't she."
Aqua didn't think he could laugh but he does. A short, strained laugh.
Ai shrugs nonchalantly. "Maybe she lied." Her smile is back in place: brilliant, dazzling, real.
"Come on," Ai says. "I'll make you something. I promise not to burn it."
Ai heads back down the hall, disappearing into the kitchen. Aqua steps inside, shutting the door behind him. His gut twists uncomfortably. It's almost worse than the pain of the knife. He can picture the anguished sobs when they find his body.
Aqua doesn't think he can eat but he doesn't want to disappoint his mother and he has a lot of questions that need to be answered. He takes a deep, shaky breath to compose himself before following Ai to the kitchen.

I think what gets me about onk's ending is...I don't see the point of it having had to be this way.
IT DOES MATCH UP WITH THE MYTHS TO A SIGNIFICANT DEGREE THOUGH, so that's why I keep jumping back to those to understand how the plot came to be this way.
From what I made out, onk is indeed revolving around the myths of Amenouzume, the god of entertainment and the two myths that have to do with her.
Her having brought out the sun god, Amaterasu, to shine and illuminate the world again(Ai's relationship with Ruby)
And her having persuaded her to-be husband Sarutahiko to give up his place as the former sun god, the light god and have him become the guidance god, to send people's futures into the right paths. With herself becoming a being to bless love between human beings for she was wed to him and people celebrate their marriage. (Explains Ai's desire to love, her relationship with Hikaru, and everything weird about the guy including how he can manipulate and ruin people's future somehow)
Amaterasu's parents, Izanagi and Izanami, is famous for their story of Izanami having died for having Izanagi's child. He tried to bring her back from hell but fails. So I see that having been thrown into the batch too.
Sarutahiko has a legend that said he drowned, and Amaterasu has a sibling who governs over the storm and the sea, Susanoo. Susanoo was in bad terms with his father and is said to have cried and insisted he bring their mother back. So Aqua must have taken on the role of that god. Instead of having Sarutahiko(Hikaru) drown on his own, they have Aqua take action to cause it here "avenging" the death of his mother for "causing" her death.
With all that blended in, with Tsukuyomi thrown into the mix(Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susanoo are triplets born at the same time) you DO get some sort of outline-ish idea for oshi no ko.
This is the only way the story and its ending makes some sort of sense to me, it clicks really well this way, but even so,
AQUA DIDN'T HAVE TO DIE!! Even if you follow those myths?? He's actually the one that's never there, a variable- and what does a variable do? It's there to CHANGE AND BRING ABOUT DIFFERENT RESULTS. I just don't see the point of him being killed except for having Ruby more "darkness" in her life she must face in order to shine more brightly or whatever but that really isn't executed in real depth if it's supposed to be so. Ai's incident already remained and held a significant impact throughout the story and many characters suffered from her loss, as if that wasn't "enough" to show Ruby can shine in thr cruelest situation.. Guess she had to have everything taken from her to be the next sun god huh? Besides, the story was so focused on Aqua so having him gone in this really abrupt manner(I say abrupt but that whole chain of events that led up to it was just a disastrous mess with so many holes) just makes the whole thing hollow. I don't see the point of all this. If I can see it(lining up and studying the myths was one effort for me to comprehend just what to make out of it) then I can understand and respect it, but I just don't. I keep feeling the artists were really cruel and that the story wasn't really good either, as well it being badly treating a lot of the characters. It's really harsh to the fans as well, I genuinely felt so distressed how they handled the scenes in 164 and 165 and I seriously can't buy the volume that'd contain those chapters in it, they didn't have to execute things that way. There are many ways to portray a scene and they had to come up with something that can haunt its readers. If this was a different genre, I may get it. I'm afraid to watch the third season of this anime because of those scenes, I don't think I would be able to bring myself to watch that executed out live and moving, colored with voices. Again, what is the point?? I really care about the meaning, it DIDN'T have to be this way. What I feel about this ending is confusion, disappointment and pain. Frustration and a bit of anger too maybe? Very far from satisfaction. They were so cruel... If there's a reason and a meaning to this cruelness, I can take it! I took media literacy classes! Do they want to tell us that the world is ugly?? That is such a biased and twisted way to take things as much as baseless optimism having its flaws. And it's not like the last chapter didn't have "baseless optimism" in it either. In fact, it was EXACTLY THAT. So Aqua died. But everyone can smile. Sure, but they just gloss away on how it all happened. The recovery and struggles. I knew none of it could be wrapped up in one single final chapter but geez. Trying to coat things to make it seem like it's somehow going to be okay and beautiful when you show so little about the effort it takes for it to reach that conclusion. What happened in the final chapter should have taken up a single volume's worth of chapter for it to be handled in a decent manner but they were lazy to do it. They don't want to deal with it after they inflict so much pain, everyone's okay and happy somehow, when Ai's death gave everyone a hard time throughout the story for years and had Aqua, our main protagonist barely begin coming to terms with it after a dozen's worth of volumes!! Wouldn't Aqua's death hold a stronger impact on everyone in the story!! He's the one we watched and cheered for the entire time as readers and formed major connections towards every character that's there. The author is a coward for not handling that in depth or maybe they thought the readers wouldn't want to see something like that, well then, if they're not going to handle it with the sufficiency it needs, why do it in the first place?? If you're going to tackle something, do it well!!
I'm frustrated because they ARE capable. They have the ability to handle it really well but they simply didn't do it for some reason. I don't know what and why that is, the writing fails to convince me that it ISN'T sloppy and just ditched. It's unfair to their own work they created!!;; That leaves me baffled!! After all they've done and this is what they come up with?? but if that's what they're satisfied with then I guess that marks what they deem as such. It's bad though. It IS bad!! Could have been miles better. This deserved to be a much better piece than how it ended up as. You know, it's not a bad thing to have standards and have expectations, I'm not saying this because I hate the writer. I'm writing this because I followed it with my heart and saw how good it could be. The work doesn't have to be the way I want it to be in order for it to be good, I have my own bias on things. I'm not that entitled of a fan and I know my place. However, you have to have some standards and set the bars somewhere??? Don't settle for less when things can be better!! I don't think people came here to see things so unresolved and half-baked and I wholeheartedly DOUBT like 99% of the readers came to see Aqua being dead in a funeral. How am I going to watch anime 3rd season knowing that will happen eventually?? If they can convince me that was for the best, I can take it, it was executed really bad and I felt 'what are they making me see' as they did though. So there.
Ai's dearest wishes didn't come true which really pains me, she cared for all those she loved...but I think she survived as a character. I actually really like the movie arc, that's my favorite part of this piece because that helped me learn about her in depth although she herself wasn't present in it. In the end, she's the most well-built/written character of this series and she was the backbone and key...
Can't forgive what they did to her man though?? Oh my god, so what was he supposed to be, I studied him so hard and I genuinely, most wholeheartedly, seriously believe he's a fallen god who got corrupted upon losing his godly wife thus did everything to give her tributes and bring her back. That's the conclusion I derived about that guy. It's the only way I could find a way to make sense of all the things he did and the weird turn of events that's been happening around Hikaru, I'm really believing this. The whole thing's over now. That god really loved his wife... I think the star eyes are there because.. There ARE gods who've been emitting and influencing people through it. It HAS to be Amenouzume and her husband the shinto gods responsible for the entertainment industry. THEY'RE the black and the white stars. The reason their kids had them. Hikaru's fallen, so that's how it's black you know??? Ai didn't so she remained white!! He wanted to become like her again once more so he collected the lights to fill himself again and feel Ai(love)!!! Why ARE the songs like that if that isn't so???? Huh??? HUHH?? WHY HAVE THE GUY GOIN AROUND ASKING ABOUT WISHES?? HE'S THE ONE RELATED TO THOSE!! How could they not explain this before they go-ugh! I'm right! I'm going to believe in this!! Not "going" to, I just got this going on for MONTHS.
It'd be hilarious if saltwater purifies that guy. Sarutahiko has to do with Misogi, a purification ritual that involves water. Dunk the fallen god in the water and who knows. He'll come back all good as new in the author's next series but just. Let the guy reunite with Ai!!! I swear!! It's ridiculous seeing two stars in the end, it's NOT funny, don't make AQUA be it, Aqua wanted to live!! The ending is just so wrong on many levels it's been making me burst out laughing several times on how weird it is, and angry too. I'm just. I just hope any further additions don't worsen this thing, I swear, if they add this weird conclusion that it was Aqua who was obsessed and mesmerized with Ai secretly the entire time but it was buried within his subconscience in the last volume addition or something, I would, seriously, be disgusted. In order for Mephisto and Fatal to be his song instead of his dad's it has to be that way. That he loved Ai as a girl. If that doesn't happen, I'd be so relieved. You see, when you have the worst of the worst possibilities popping in your head, you can be a bit grateful when it turns out to be not it. I really went that far regarding this piece~~... I can't believe how low my bars are getting. Oh they seriously shouldn't go that low~~~~ But I really appreciated and studied this piece a lot in many ways. I really did. I'm glad Ai exists and I like her loving nature. And I think I'll be much more accepting and lenient about whatever celebrities have going about their life after having read that piece so that's there too, I also learned a little more about Japanese mythology, I drew a whole lot and I think my art's been developing, learned/got insps on how to form stories more, I really like what hikaai is and what it could have been.
Oh...I've never TALKED about a piece this much(I wish I didn't have to because, if the experience is just peaceful and pleasant all the way I don't talk about it so much;;) glad it's over, still scared of what it could bring in the future but that won't be for awhile. Who knows, I ALWAYS find something to love. This piece will be, indeed, unforgettable.. But I hope one day it'll just fade away as a fun memory. The way a lot of my past fixations and fandoms are for me now.

on our fates alight --the honey b lovely show (start)
Sebastian moved quickly, putting a hand to Reinhardt's eyes. A shadow covered the dragoon's vision, and his shoulders sagged in relief.
"Thank fuck. I can't look at that. I'm sorry, I can't." That being Honey B. Lovely's customized fighting ring in the Arcadion. Reinhardt had taken one look at the viewscreen and had nearly vomited from the overstimulation.
"You're fine." Sebastian assured the other Dominant. "Here, sit down--and I'll keep this over your eyes for now. Are you okay with listening?"
"Listening's fine, I just can't look at that...that." Mathye came up with a chair, nudging it against the backs of Reinhardt's legs so he knew where it was. Sebastian removed his hand, keeping the veil of shadow attached to Reinhardt's eyes as Zurvan's Dominant sat down.
"How's Zurvan?"
<I will be happy to live the rest of my days without ever gazing upon such chaos again.>
"I think I actually can feel my blood sugar rising the longer I look at it." Riven breathed.
"Probably a good thing you aren't fighting, I have a feeling their ability to safeguard people from any affects of their fighters would be stretched to it's limit with you involved." Mathye commented. He scowled as Reinhardt tried to shoo him away.
"We're fine now!"
"I'll be the judge of that!"
"I honestly thought you were going to fight her." Sebastian commented to Riven.
"I was supposed to. Then she saw Augustine, and next thing Metem was changing the match." The brunette looked back to the viewscreen, where Honey B. Lovely had made her entrance.
"Does he at least have a second?" Mathye asked, Reinhardt having passed current medical satisfaction.
"Bylti and Tsukuyomi. Tsukuyomi was apparently very interested for some reason." More cheering came from the screen's speakers as Augustine walked onto the field.
<He said he wanted to try and hold out against her for as long as possible before calling for help.> Halone said thoughtfully.
<He possibly could pull it off. It would just depend on how powerful the girl is.> Odin replied. Riven winced as the screaming suddenly hit painful levels--Augustine had semi-Primed. Mathye moved to stand inbetween her and Sebastian, looking at the screen.
"I have a bad feeling about those regulator transformations." He said lowly, watching as Honey B. Lovely gave a wink and activated her regulator. "I can't put my finger on it exactly, just that it feels wrong to me."
"Well if Augustine and Bylti win this one, you might have your chance next match." Sebastian answered.
The starlet with a sting-the adorable-but-deadly, sweet-yet-poisonous Honey B. Lovely!
Riven's lips parted in surprise, and she leaned in closer to the screen. Then...
"THAT IS A FUCKING WASP!!!" Mathye's roar was enough to shake the energy drink cans on the table, and Riven jolted back.
"WHAT THE FUCK?! THAT'S A WASP, NOT A BEE! WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!"
Sebastian was starting to lose it. Utterly and completely. Desperate wheezing and high pitched sobs of glee were escaping him as Mathye proceeded to have a taxonomical meltdown at what he was seeing on the screen. Reinhardt was deciding to slowly inch back in his chair. Eyes wide, Riven tried to intervene.
"Mathye--"
"I SWEAR TO THE GODS AUGUSTINE IF YOU DON'T BEAT THAT BITCH I'M COMING TO DO IT MY FUCKING SELF!! QUEEN BEE MY ASS!!"

chapter 144 thoughts!
I don't think any other chapter of Oshi no Ko has ever baffled and confounded me quite like this one. Viewed solely in isolation this is a perfectly fine, functional chapter but as the followup to 143 and everything it contained, I actually feel like I'm losing my mind a bit. 143 might as well not have happened for all the weight it's given in this chapter. Ruby is not remotely acting like a girl who just tongued her crush of 18 years and in general, the total absence of any reference or cushioning of the shock of that event is just so loud and so jarring and so completely out of touch with how OnK has handled romantic developments in the past.
Both AquAka kisses had at least a scene or two in the chapter immediately following of characters reacting to and reflecting on both the event itself and the status quo change it represents in the relationship. Even 124 has that scene of Ruby clinging onto Aqua to let the viewer know what the new dynamic between them is going to be from now on. This chapter has nothing of the sort; I wasn't kidding when it says it feels like the kiss never even happened. The only thing I can point to is Ruby's little "we have sensei at home" exchange with Tsukuyomi but that's⌠kind of just exactly what she would've said even before the kiss. So if it has resulted in absolutely no change to their dynamic that we can see thus far, what was the point in ending the chapter on that note?
The part of me that is cynical and jaded can't help but suspect that this is intentionally hot button reaction bait paced specifically for the purposes of keeping OnK a trendy topic in the lead up to season 2 of the anime airing, But Who's To Say, Really.
I also had my worries about this last chapter, but unless we skip back in time to address it, it really looks like we've skipped over the remainder of the KamiAi romance and everything to do with the early stages of Ai's pregnancy. This is incredibly frustrating to me - they're parts of Ai's story I had been incredibly curious about and was excited to see her thoughts and feelings on, even filtered through fiction. In general, the way the Movie Arc has been increasingly dropping its focus on actually conveying Ai's story has been a real sore point for me. I fully acknowledge this rankles me more than perhaps it should because I am so deeply invested in Ai above any other character but⌠fuck, man! Once again, remember when this was supposed to be an arc about her? About her inner life, her pain and struggles and Aqua and Ruby working to a better understanding of her? I was excited for the Movie Arc specifically because I thought we were going to get peeks at parts of Ai's life we weren't privy to beforehand, but at this point it almost feels like Akasaka has just lost interest in following through.
Not only that but⌠uh, where's that KamiAi breakup scene, Akasaka? The one we were promised during the script reading? That huge I CAN'T LOVE YOU elephant that's been patiently sitting in the room? I can only assume that the 15YL version of this breakup happens after the twins are born or maybe even when Kamiki visited Ai at the hospital the night the kids were born but. What the fuck is even going on here anymore lol. The Oshi no Brainrot discord has been kicking around a joke theory that we were seeing the events of the Movie Arc out of their actual chronological order and it is becoming increasingly less of a joke in my brain because I can't make any sense of its progression otherwise.
oh my god i'm almost 1000 words in and i haven't started talking about the actual point of this chapter yet. god help me.
Anyway, MY SON IS HERE LET'S GO MELT!!!!!!
Ngl, I've always been a little disappointed that we didn't see much more of Melt in this arc, both just because I like him and because I think there's some really interesting potential in drawing on the parallels between Melt and Kamiki. I'm not the first to point out that Melt's experience with a dubiously consensual sexual encounter at the hands of an upperclassman - when he wasn't that much older than Hikaru was when Airi began abusing him - echoes at least in spirit Kamiki's experiences as a CSA victim; both were young boys, noted to be pretty and desirable, who were taken advantage of by older female figures. I think it would be extremely interesting and a great character moment for Melt to have some degree of engagement with that material and maybe to have some thoughts about it. It feels like a little bit of a missed opportunity to pass up on that, but I also acknowledge that Melt is ultimately not a huge mover and shaker in the overall story and I don't know how that would've fit into the Movie Arc as it stands, so I'll just have to make eyes at the AO3 tag and hope someone writes a fic about it.
Anyway as a lot of people predicted⌠here's Ruby being a jackass to Melt about his performance!!! Joking aside, I will admit it's a little jarring to see Ruby being so hostile to Melt over this Gorou is a sore spot for her, obviously and she would undoubtedly have high standards for his role in the movie. In addition, Ruby being snitty with people who rub her the wrong way definitely isn't new for her, but it still feels kind of odd both coming off her own struggles to connect with Ai through acting and her little "holy shit other people have feelings" breakthrough in the wake of the RBKN fight for her to be like this about it. I do think this is mostly just supposed to be just goofs and I'm overthinking it, it was just one of those things that kind of gave me pause as I was reading.
ruby's little little princess shirt is really good though, as is her referring to herself as a fan of the 'original work'. both of those got a solid sensible chuckle out of me.
Another thing that gave me pause for a very different reason was Melt and Ruby's exchange about his little merch pin. First and foremost, I think this is a really good Melt moment; while we saw him busting his ass to improve his acting in Tokyo Blade, that was very much when he had something to prove. Here, he really does seem to be going above and beyond for what is basically a bit part purely out of a desire to improve his craft and a passion for acting overall. It's nice to see the story double down in this being a lesson he did properly take away from Sweet Today and that he has committed to acting upon it (no pun intended) in the long term, not just when under outside pressure to do so.
The other thing that jumped out to me about this exchange is that⌠technically speaking, both Ruby and Melt are wrong, here? It's a very nice, flowery description of Gorou and it certainly lines up with his more positive traits but the idea of him not wearing his Ai merch in front of Ai herself is actually incorrect. Gorou is depicted (in the anime, anyway) as openly wearing the charm at what's implied to be all times, even in front of Ai herself. The manga also implies by way of where the charm is on his person when Ruby finds his body that this is also the case in that version of events, too. I don't think it's a retcon and may be an unimportant detail in the grand scheme of things but it did pique my interest.
There's a few ways to take this, I think; a more positive spin is that this is in line with what the story wants us to take away from 15 Year Lie as a production, where the literal granular facts of its events are sometimes less important than and can be bent in favour of supporting the emotional narrative it wants to convey. Melt may not literally be correct here, but he at least achieves the spirit of the right answer in his efforts. "Lies are love", after all.
However, given that Ruby enthusiastically endorses this interpretation - and is thus wrong alongside Melt - this could potentially be an indication of there being cracks in Ruby's rose-tinted view of Gorou. This strikes me as a fascinating idea and one I hope the series plays with; it would follow quite naturally from last chapter's framing of Gorou as Ruby's 'idol' that she's 'gachikoi' for. Oshi no Ko has pretty consistently portrayed the idol/fan relationship as inherently unequal, even when approached with the best of intentions and to truly know someone, you must let them off their pedestal first. She has sort of begun this process with Ai, just through empathizing with her during the 15YL production but we have yet to see anything similar happen with Gorou - if anything, we see the opposite here, where she asserts herself as the authority on Gorou's character as if she has the final say on who he was and what he felt and thought.
But the thing is, how well can Ruby really say that she knew him? They were only in each others' lives for a few months and in that time, she was only exposed to a very narrow slice of his life and his personality. Hell, you could even argue that Akane knows more about Gorou than Ruby does, given that we have no indication that Ruby or Sarina was ever privy to the details of his birth and his home life. Again, it's entirely possible that I'm reading too much into this, but now the idea is in my brain I'm simmering on it a bit. If nothing else, I hope the series takes the time to prod and poke at this angle, especially now it has made the fan/idol aspect of this dynamic explicit and textual.
Ruby and Melt's little senpai/kouhai dynamic has the potential to be really cute and I do hope the series actually spends some time on it. I've always thought a RBML friendship could be really fun to watch play out and seeing Melt gain some confidence in himself by teaching someone else could be really great. But with how unfocused the Movie Arc has been, it's really hard to get my hopes up that we'll be sticking with this even past this chapter lol
oh hey there crow girl we thought you were dead
Surprisingly, I don't have a lot to really say about her little lore drop here, since it's mostly mystery boxing and implications and, man. It's been 69 (nice) chapters since she first started showing up ominously muttering about supernatural things and while I don't mind her presence and I think she's evolved into a fun character, it's a little hard for me to get interested in these little supernatural tidbits until they resolve into something that feels meaningful for the characters.
This isn't helped by the fact that we don't really know what kami means in the context she uses it here. While 'god' and 'gods' are not strictly incorrect as translations, I think an English speaking viewer is primed to think of Abrahamic, capital G-Gods, which isn't necessarily correct. The term kami is a catchall that covers all manner of things from divinities to venerated earthbound humans, so kami can perhaps best be understood as being an umbrella term for something like 'an otherworldly being', which I think better lines up with Tsukuyomi's assertion that those who have memories of past lives are like kami in of themselves.
Ultimately though until we know what kami really means and amounts to in Oshi no Ko, it's hard to say what this means for the characters and I am ultimately only really interested in the characters. So until we know what this actually amounts to in-story, I'm just kind of nodding long with whatever Crow Girl says because sure. This might as well happen.
can we talk about how fucking funny her anime antagonist jump out of the tree was, by the way
break next week, or so i've heard... one of these days, we'll beat the allegations....
