Our prsk appearance headcanons that no one asked but

(btw by tan we mean: darker skin tone we didnt think of one specific to most of them)

Ichika: skinny/girl twink, her arms hurt when she carries her guitar her full day. Girl loser /affectionate, also taller than canon. Her hair is straight but thick.

Saki: chubby (she deserves after the hospital time), very visible freckles on her whole body, though she tends to hide it with makeup, and her face is round and with chubby cheeks even while sick. Canon size. Wavy but thin hair which sucks to take care of.

Honami: fat, and strong. More on the tan side, taller than canon, slightly wavy hair

Shiho: average id say? Some light freckles, gets confused with a twink a lot but she's just a lesbian, shorter than canon for funsies, straight hair, very light freckles on her cheeks.

Minori: she's more legs than human, like a fucking deer. /Hj. Gets stronger/chubbier as mmj goes on because she needs to adapt her diet for the amount of energy she's releasing, tan, shes average size, id say canon is good for her, thin and straight hair

Haruka: . Thin for . Canon reasons. However she has some muscles. Pale id say? Also canon height, thick and straight hair.

Airi: muscular, not too chubby for idol reasons otherwise she would be, tan too, slightly bit shorter, thick curly hair.

Akito: a little muscular, especially his legs, tan, lots of freckles on his face and shoulders, bit shorter than canon, freckled, thick hair thats slightly wavy.

Tsukasa: he looks like a twink but somehow has muscles, tan, his freckles are very visible because of the sun but they're only around the cheeks, wavy hair like Saki.

Kanade: extremely thin but after eating nofmally again she goes to average id say? Chubby cheeks though, extremely pale anyways, canon height and straight hair thats thin and frail but it gets better as niigo teaches her how to take care of it. Mizuki also cuts her hair to shoulder height

Mafuyu: muscular, taller than canon (taller than mizuki, tanner than canon too, thick wavy hair, Mizuki also cut his hair.

Ena: chubby, same height as canon and tan, her freckles are only around the nose and cheeks but they're very visible, not as much ws Akito or the Tenmas tho, letting her hair grow and its slightly wavy but she tends to make it straight because she claims its easier, she's also a ginger but dyes her hair

Mizuki: lean, but not as much of a twink as the others, also her legs look long too, grows a bit more than canon, straight hair who tends to try and give it a bit more waves to it.

More on SakuMei! Alrighty so if they got back together I see them being much more mature and ready for a relationship than the first time around. It starts out very slow, they’re hesitant to get back together after what happened the first time. But since they’ve been friends for so long, they fall into a natural comfortability with one another

They enter a honeymoon phase, being the happiest they’ve ever been together. Their friends are happy to see them happy, although there’s some slight jealousy on Natsuhiko’s end. Mei is leaving the art room more and actually trying to enjoy her “life.” Sakura helps her work through her existential problems and figure out who and what she is. Mei helps Sakura make sense of their own feelings and learn how to express them. Instead of focusing so much on their own wants for a relationship, they focus on helping each other. And through that help, they both become comfortable expressing when they’re unhappy with something or want something in the relationship to change. Real healthy shit, we have left their toxic yuri days behind

As for the type of dates they go on, I think they’re very lowkey. They drink tea and read books in the broadcasting room, or in Sakura’s boundary. Due to the open space, their dates often turn into group hangouts, so if they want privacy it’s best to go to the art room or the library. The art room isn’t always safe as Nene and Tsukasa will barge in whenever they feel like it. But the library can get crowded too so really, this school is hell for these two introverts. They make it work though, once the students have cleared out it’s pretty vacant

If you haven’t noticed I’m a big filmbro and like to include movies in just about every fic I write. This is more of a Sakura/Natsuhiko thing but I apply it to other ships with them, I think Sakura would be rly into creepy/gory movies. They have tackled the Disturbing Movie Iceberg (I’m only two tiers down, I’m too sensitive to watch all that shit lmao) and like to make ppl watch gross movies with them. To Natsuhiko it’s a form of torture but Mei doesn’t care for fiction so she’s more indifferent (Ik a lot of the movies on the Iceberg are documentaries/home videos but shhhh we’re ignoring that for this). She complains but she doesn’t get scared or grossed out the way Natsuhiko does, it’s more that she’ll point out how unrealistic the special effects are and make fun of the bad writing. Bad movies are Sakura’s favorite though so they laugh along, that way they end up bonding over their judgemental natures. By the end, Mei might end up falling asleep on Sakura’s shoulder

Most of their dates involve them just sitting around and talking. They don’t always have to say something, but they can keep a conversation going very easily. Neither of them are that talkative in crowds but one-on-one they could yap for hours. Because of this they know each other super well, they’re able to keep up with each other’s interests and viewpoints. They get into deep, philosophical discussions often, which leads Sakura to lighten the mood with tea

Now let’s imagine them in another life where they’re both human and get to grow old together. OG Mei and No.4 Mei are twin sisters here bcuz I said so. I don’t see No.4 Mei doing art full time but she keeps it up as a hobby for whenever she’s stressed, partially because it’s something that connects her to Shijima. She would have an art room in her house full of paintings of Sakura and her family (credit to you for that hc lol). OG Mei absolutely becomes an art teacher tho. I could actually see No.4 Mei going into the medical field and becoming a doctor, since art isn’t really her thing I think she’d be more of a science person. There’s also more personal reasons for it, she wants to help kids that are going through what her sister went through

For Sakura it’s hard to say. I think they’d own some sort of gothic tea room. They sell tea there as well to make some extra income. Not that they need it with their rich doctor wife, but it’s a nice bonus. To commit to the bit they wear black vintage gowns to work every day. And their house is an old manor, funded mainly by the aforementioned doctor wife. One thing abt Sakura is they’re going to commit to an aesthetic. They host a lot of events at the tea room like murder mysteries/scavenger hunts, especially around Fall. Mei stops by each one to support her partner, and when she does she’s always the one to solve the mystery

They have a son, one of those cursed little Victorian boys. They also own an unreasonable amount of cats, all with very formal names. They’re very weird parents, but good ones. I’m getting Addams Family vibes. Mei also goes butch in the future so she can be the Gomez, trust. They encourage their son to learn healthy communication skills and take up hobbies so he can explore his interests and make friends. They’re also very loving towards one another, a very romantic couple. They end up having a wonderful life together, along with their son and many friends who crash the manor. Natsuhiko and Shijima pop in most often, along with Tsukasa and Aoi/Nene. On occasion Mitsuba will drag Kou up to visit but he always gets creeped out by the place. This would make a great family sitcom

Uh oh, Izumi had that weird look on his face again, that can only mean trouble for poor Tsukasa-kun.

“Have you been snacking on sweets again? Your stomach feels all squishy” the silver haired male emphasized by squeezing at his junior’s torso.

“GAH—! Sena-senpai, yohou ahalways do this!” the redhead snickered out, trying to swat away at the offending hands but they stayed stubbornly stuck at his waist.

“Always do what? And quit giggling, I’m being serious here!” Izumi furrowed his brows, trying to appear stern, but he couldn’t fight back the glint of amusement in his eyes. His skillful nails poked and pinched all over Tsukasa’s sides and tummy

“You ahalways t-t-tickle mehe— WAHAIT! STOAHAHAP!” the younger idol squealed, arms flailing like an inflatable balloon when Izumi started scratching at the sides of his belly. Inching ever so closely to his bellybutton. 

“Tsk tsk” Izumi shook his head disapprovingly. “Now you wouldn’t be so ticklish if you weren’t so squishy, like right… here~” he finished with a poke to the boy’s navel. 

“EEP! Nohow you’re just mahaking stuff uhup!” Tsukasa tried to complain, cheeks puffing out in annoyance. Which didn’t really help his case. 

“No no, you’ve definitely gotten more ticklish. Just listen to yourself!” he squeezed up to the defenseless pair of ribs, lightly tapping his fingers over each bone. This earned a snort and a new onslaught of desperate titters from the younger idol. A slight, giddy smile started to form across Izumi’s lips at the sight.

 “See? I could hold your arm out and—” Izumi’s words cut off as he did just that, holding out the redhead’s arm, before descending his nails to lightly trail down from his open palm to his wrist, down his forearm until reaching the pit of his elbow. Going back up to tease the sensitive skin of his fingers, to only reach back down to his elbow and give a quick scribble.

“HUAH?! Holy—! Thahat tickles so muhuhuch, Sena-senpahahai!” Tsukasa whined out the obvious, surprised by his own ticklishness. Maybe his senior was right after all…

“Look, even more squish up here. Squishhhh~” Izumi teased by squeezing Tsukasa’s bicep.

“GYAH! Okahay! Quihit it!” the redhead managed to yank his arm away, sending a flustered pout to his senior, who only snickered back at him.

“At this rate, you’ll be even worse than Ousama. You better take care of yourself, or else” the older idol threatened by giving a light squeeze to Tsukasa’s nape, making the boy squeal and jump away.

“Geheez fine…” I guess even Izumi shows his care in his own weird ways...

also, isn't this outfit a two piece? it kinda looks like it's a crop top but then why is his shirt coming out from underneath the jacket- like does it mean that he did that on purpose?

also what's with the armband-

the colours look so off, ik it's supposed to represent like all the groups but it just looks so, so weird to me and the t-shirt side with the triangles, I just feel like it doesn't match-

it doesn't show in the photo but the shoes are also weird, bro pulled up to the stage in those uggs or whatever they're called-

on top of it, the lab coat part of the bottom has fucking pockets, like pockets are great but there are three of them?? and they also seem to be tiny af and go in a diagonal direction??

to top everything off, ya got the belt that's too long and literally like half of it isn't properly secured XD

Any opinions on Mafukasa? Doesn't necessarily have to be about the ship itself, just the two characters is cool too (imo I think they're narrative foils, but idk maybe that's just me they're so silly tho)

hm ... they're fine? I gotta admit they're not exactly my cup of tea; a lot of the time I find people exaggerating Tsukasa's problems to equate them to Mafuyu's when their reasoning for their facades is actually quite different.

Tsukasa puts everything onto himself. he gets so wrapped up in what he believes he has to be for Saki and for others that he can lose sight of what might actually be best for them. he's so selfless he's somehow come full circle and is oftentimes selfish.

Mafuyu's persona on the other hand is entirely based on how other people view her. she's molded herself to be the person they need. she is crumbling under others' expectations of her, but she doesn't know what else she would do if she didn't do what others told her to, so she doesn't complain.

like, they have similar themes! I enjoy the dichotomy of the reasons for their facades, and an exploration of those differences could be very neat. but a lot of the time I find them reduced to "smiling as a front to hide the horrors" when both of them have so much more depth than that - not to mention Tsukasa is not nearly that fucked up. his own best friend (Emu) sees through Mafuyu's emotional front like it's nothing ... she would definitely notice something is up with Tsukasa if that were the case lol. besides, the "smiling to appease others" front Mafuyu's got going on has way more in common with Emu, anyway ...

all in all they're fine, but too often I find them feeding into an uncomfortably larger trend in the project sekai fandom of overlooking female characters to focus on male characters, even if that means twisting their personalities and flaws to do it. leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Just finished watching “High&Low The Worst X” and it's such a beautiful movie.

Spoilers ahead.

Fujio showed everyone why he is the leader of Oya. He really is just like Murayama, both lead with their dumb heads and good hearts (tho Murayama is smarter than Fujio). Todoroki might be a monster when it comes to fighting and a clever guy on top, but he just can't do what Fujio can. He simply pulls all sorts of people in like a flame does with moths. Nobody can do what Fujio can, not Todoroki and certainly not Tsukasa (how on earth could he not see why Ryo would follow Amagai?).

Really like the duo of Amagai and Ryo. Still can't believe that Riku's shippy song “Stand by you” is for them. Took me by surprise, but it's really cool and fitting given the scene it played. Also, Amagai is such a freaking tsundere, it's cute. And Ryo has it so bad for him. Let's also not forget Amagai wearing a Fleur-de-lis necklace which works so well with his imaginary right to rule (let's ignore the implication/other meaning of the Fleur-de-lis because that's for the shippers to decide).

Suzuran were also really cool. Good to know that H&L goes with the old “Suzuran has no leader” thing, that school should never have a leader. Sorry not sorry.

Really love the Raoh faction. Raoh is such a big softie and his backstory hits you like a train. Very interesting that they went with that, but it only makes him even more likeable. Also, his reasoning as explained by Mercy as to why he went to help Fujio against that unholy alliance, because Fujio was the first who asked him to be his friend, that was so good and soft. His second (Mercy) is so soft and hilarious. Very happy to see a gently giant and smart (tired old) man as leader duo. Very fitting. You probably won't see any bs with those two. The kids around them are an interesting bunch, a lil too loud maybe, but it balances out perfectly with Raoh and Mercy as leaders.

Still can't believe that Motoaki would just follow Fujio's invitation to hang around Oya, even tho he has a job now and tries to be a responsible adult. Those two have no two brain cells between them. Really love how their friendship grew given what happened in “The 6 from H&L The Worst”.

And then there's the friendship between Todoroki and Odajima. I fully understand why people ship them. Some very good scenes with them.

Also, just Todoroki willingly admitting that he changed and has friends he would do anything for. That's growth and it's so very good.

It's a very shipper friendly movie overall. Like, no matter what makes you go heart eyes, there's def something.

Also, before I forget it, but is there a reason as to why Yabe Kyosuke is in H&L now? I mean, I'm certainly not complaining, but it's so hilarious knowing this guy from his “Crows Zero” days and then suddenly him showing up first in “The 6 from H&L The Worst” and now in this. It's probably just an Easter egg due to the Crows/Worst crossover thing, but it's just so funny seeing him in this.

Akito Shinonome

So since Kako is always tired, Akito would probably be the one to always complain about it and make him take care of himelf... or at least he can try... Boisclair is actually pretty stubborn if it's about falling asleep so he usually fails. But when he does, our ginger let's his soft side out and yellow eyed boy may even catch him do so sometimes but he stays quiet as he's both too tired to speak and doesn't want him to stop.

"Kako... don't tell me you're falling asleep AGAIN... at least get on couch or somewhere more comfortable than floor!"

"But... floor is comfortable..."

"Eh... hold on tight. I'll carry you there... but next time I'm just gonna leave you be. So be aware!"

"Don't worry, it won't happen again..."

It does happen again. And tsundere never really left him! Instead he always carried him somewhere comfortable. Maybe french boy is doing it all on purpose, just to get carried?

Tsukasa Tenma

Kako isn't the quiet type but he's not really talkative either... that's why Tsukasa would make a great partner for him! Plus, our future star is also pretty caring by nature, especially to the ones he love! So if both boys happen to be together, it's almost sure that mr. future star will take care of this lazy french boy. Be it by putting blanket over him, making sure he always falls asleep somewhere comfortable or even lending him a shoulder if they're in public!

"Hey Kasa... I wanna take a nap..."

"Of course! Are lessons this tiring?"

"Kinda... my next lesson is math..."

"Oh... I see... well I'm sure you'll do good! You're not bad at it after all!"

Kako is really good at making coffee since he works at cafe so I'm just sure Toya often gets to taste the coffee he makes. This french boy might be lazy but when it comes to making the ones he love smile or making coffee, he's ready to get up for these few minutes! Plus there's nothing better than enjoying coffee with your partner~

"Kako? You're up from the very morning? Did something happened? Did you had a nigthmare?"

"Do you think a nightmare would stop me from sleeping? But no, I just happen to wake up early and decided to make us coffee!"

"Oh, thank you then. I'm happy to taste your coffee first thing in the morning~"

Rui Kamishiro

Okey so sine Kako can be often almost all the time, he probably has a lot of problems with just walking straight... so when he's walking anywhere with Rui, he always has his arm wrapped around his shoulder or holding him by hand to catch him in case he falls.

But of course we cannot miss that constant teasing for our french boy from living ":3", mostly about his height... like there's around 24cm/9inches difference between them so of course he can't miss any ocassion!

"Oh? Did you not get enough sleep again?"

"I thought I did... I slept for 10 hours but it seems I might need a little nap today as well..."

"Don't worry! You can fall on me! I'm sure no one would even notice~"

I REALLY LIKE IT!!!! ive seen some mixed reactions but i personally think its really good! maybe its just bc childish war was one of my first voca songs and i will love it no matter what + my nenekasa bias but ITS SUCH A GOOD COVER!!

nene & tsukasa both sound really really good ^_^ im completely obsessed with the ‘seih yaah tooh yaah uh uh yaah hah’ bit (esp when kasa goes bc he really puts his all into it) and also the argument bit is really good i love when tsukasa does his little scream at the end

and the kagamines ohhh the kagamines THEY SOUND INCREDIBLE… honestly im thinking that they might have just ripped their vocals straight from the og song? bc they sound really really similar in quite a few parts (not all tho), but im not complaining abt that bc id rather have og childish war vocals instead of prsk nt vocals LOL

ummm what else…….. the instrumental is a bit different from the original but i still think its really good ^_^ im really happy with how the game version is cut (they kept in my fave parts (the ones i mentioned above)) tho i think its a bit weird hiw they cut the end… they couldnt have kept in another few seconds? its ok tho

overall VERY GOOD COVER i love it sm i have very few complaints !! only thing id mention is i kinda wish rin & len got a few less lines? i hope we can maybe get a solo nnks alt vocal someday tho that seems unlikely

/ rambling about jshk chapter 97 spoilers under the cut/

Not at all surprised that Kou still wants (really badly) to be a strong exorcist like his brother. And it’s veeeery poignant that when he starts going through his battle shounen hero routine of ‘now I’m going to be stronger and prove to everyone my worth’, and loudly declares he’s going to exorcise whatever kaii is outside his house, it’s the moment he meets Mitsuba again. Very, very poignant.

Maybe it’s just me, but Kou jumping at the opportunity to exorcise a weak kaii is actually pretty funny, considering that, just a few chapters ago, he was apparently very intent on becoming a kaii himself. And that Nene was also willing to become one so Aoi wouldn’t die in her place.

Also, that comment about, ‘oh, if I need to, I guess I’ll exorcise Hanako’ is going come back to bite him in future chapters, isn’t it? Kou was already being pretty judge-y of his relationship with Tsukasa in the last chapter, and you can’t, YOU CANNOT, judge people and relationships in this manga without the narrative smacking you back with ironic shit. Like, refusing to understand or know something or someone on a deeper level has a tendency to… be punished by the narrative in JSHK. And now with Kou saying that he’ll ‘put Hanako down like a mad dog’ if necessary is… kinda asking for trouble.

Which might or might not mean that this meeting with Mitsuba will be a slap on the face for Kou.

But it’s something that been going on for while, no? This… underlying tension between Kou and Hanako only seems to grow with each chapter. Makes their ‘friendship’ more interesting to me tho, so I’m not really complaining.

It’s funny though, that Teru takes this decision as proof that Hanako is important to Kou, just like Kou’s wish to extend Nene’s lifespan. It’s not just that the comparison is consistent with the manga’s themes, but also that it’s Teru who makes this comment. Makes me wonder what Aidairo has in store for him…

And speaking of Teru…

This guy is a walking meme, and he’s so, so funny for it.

And you know, it was always obvious that his loyalty was towards his family, mostly Kou and Tiara, instead of the Minamoto or the ‘greater good’ as he puts it, but it’s nice having a confirmation.

… Teru and Hanako are so similar, it’s not even funny.

And maybe it’s just me, but I… kinda feel bad for Teru here? When thinking about him, he really feels like the… third-wheel of many dynamics. It’s more obvious with his interactions with Akane/Aoi, but even with Kou, it’s… kinda obvious that his brother’s affection doesn’t match his in… intensity, I guess? Kou saying he really likes Teru as well, after Teru remarks how important Hanako and Nene must have become to Kou, feels… lighter, I guess, in comparison to Teru’s admission that he only became a exorcist (and endured everything awful that comes with the job), for Kou and Tiara. Poor little sibcon Teru (lol), such a tragic, unrequited maiden.

Back to Kou though, he really doesn’t have much critical thought when it comes to… thinking about what being a Minamoto exorcist really means and what it entails, huh? Like, even after his brother talks multiple times about how much he had to sacrifice, Kou still wants very badly to be one.

But it makes sense. Kou seems to equal love to being needed and relied on. Aidairo like to play with battle shounen tropes through Kou and wanting to be strong and prove himself is kinda of a staple of the genre. But the thing with JSHK is that you just are loved, so this thing about… proving yourself as worthy isn’t really necessary. It makes me think how Nene, in the beginning of the manga, worked a lot to… gain feminine skills and “improve” herself for years before confessing to her crush, so she could be worthy of being loved. I think that… there’s something similar going on with Kou.

So maybe, Kou’s development could rely on a few things:

1) Realizing that his wish to be stronger isn’t as selfless as he thinks it is;

2) Upon accepting this selfishness, realizing that he doesn’t need to be a ‘proper Minamoto exorcist’ to be loved;

Kou… wants to be needed. He wants others to rely on him and to trust him. And that’s partially because of his self-esteem issues.

Buuut… it doesn’t seem like Kou likes to think of himself as selfish, or being capable of selfishness. At least, that’s the vibe I got from his reactions to the Red House ‘tempting’ him.

That he wants Mistuba to trust him is very significant. I often think how the Red House’s manifestation of Mitsuba essentially asked Kou to “think only about him and nothing else”. Kou always makes such a fuss about how he’s doing this for “everyone” (not really true, but that’s an analysis for another post) and Mitsuba had such an impact on him that makes me wonder if… Kou feels bad or something, when it comes to these selfish feelings, of wanting people to rely only on him, of wanting to focus and devoted himself to this one person. Who knows.

On a side note, didn’t the Red House’s illusion of Mitsuba say that he “missed Kou so much, he just went to meet him (despite the Severance)” or something? And now Mitsuba has apparently come to meet him…

hm.

I’m gonna be honest and I say that I don’t know if Mitsuba being out of the school means something. The only two mysteries/kaii we know for sure that can’t leave the school are Hanako and Sakura. And maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I think that Tsuchigomori can leave the school (bc he was making house visits as a teacher, I think). But that's probably an ability unique to him.

Who knows, maybe now that there are so little yorishiro left, the remaining seated mysteries can roam around. Maybe Mitsuba did something or simply just asked Tsukasa/Sakura/Natsuhiko/whoever for help. Maybe it's not Mitsuba. Again, who the heck knows.

Well, whatever’s going on with Mitsuba, should prove to be fun.
