Sighs. Hi, welcome to the TSBS Shipfessions blog. This blog is run by one mod, to whom you can call 'Solar'. On this part of the confessions branch, we specialize in ships of all shapes, sizes, and flavors. And also a dash of rp I suppose because that's what the friend group wanted.

• This is a shipfessions blog. You confess about ships here- if you want to confess about other things, I am very kindly pointing you to the bottom of this intro, because I have friends who specialize in just that.

A/N: I had a whole different story planned for this but then words began to flow and I just couldn’t help the feeling that it gave me. This just felt like what needed to be written. (I may still right the other story if I have time). 

The attic is very attic-like unless it’s not an attic at all. Then it’s just a very high floor in Stark Tower that Peter has come across on accident. | tony stark/pepper potts

The attic is very attic-like it’s dusty, other than that it is not really an attic but more of an abandoned floor in a tower and Peter is unsure how he ended up here. He was with his tour group but then he needed to go to the bathroom and the nice tour guide directed him towards a door which turned out to be an elevator, which is how he ended up here. After turning up in the elevator he didn’t touch any buttons and yet it moved and now he’s in what he can assume is the attic, up very high. 

The same elevator doors open and Peter’s eyes go wide, he’s not supposed to be here and he knows that but he’s also not quite sure how to get back down. He doesn’t want to be told up and his feet feel like leads stuck to the floor. “Hello?” The man asks walking out of the elevator, the man is Tony Stark followed by loud high heels that are hurting Peter’s ears.

Tony Stark is in the same room as Peter Parker, the same Peter Parker that has this man picture on his wall and has read his scientific articles from the age of 5 as bedtime stories. Pepper Potts is also there and Peter knows that MJ would be so jealous right now, “hi kid, how did you get up here?” Tony asks getting down to Peter’s level. 

Peter, who assumes he’s in trouble, takes off the lanyard they had given them at the beginning and puts it into Tony’s hand. This makes Tony ‘I don’t like being handed things’ Stark eyes go wide but then he realises this kid is terrified “you still kept this?” Tony jokes trying to put a smile on his face for the kid, “Pepper here has been trying to get me a lanyard for years, but I just don’t think it’s my look, you know?” Tony questions trying to bring lightness to the conversation. 

Pepper, who doesn’t take much nonsense, is in love with this kid who may be 10 maybe 11 if she can remember the only tour group in the tower at the moment, “does your tour group know you’re here? Did somebody send you?” Peter shakes his head which doesn’t give Pepper much to go on.

Instead, Tony ignored his partner’s concern and brushes it off, “he wanted to be the top man Pepper, come up to the penthouse and see the views!” Tony smiles at his work and as much as it may not seem like it, Tony likes kids loves kids even, probably the reason why there is s tour group happening in the first place. 

“This is the penthouse?” Peter whispers looking around at the clothed furniture and dusty feel. It seems wrong to Peter that this could possibly be Tony Stark’s penthouse, it’s nothing like what he imagined. There’s limited to no tech and it seems abandoned Peter thought it was the attic with spare furniture.

Tony nods smiling sadly at the state of the place because he's sure that the kid wouldn't expect this packed-up mess as a state-of-the-art penthouse that Architecture Direct wrote about. “We’re packing up to move at the moment so I know it’s not exactly what you might have imagined. Sorry kid,” Tony doesn’t really know why he apologising or what he may be apologising for but he feels sorry and some kind of pity.

Picking up on the way that Tony is feeling Pepper takes Peter’s hand in her own, “why don’t we get you back to your tour group-” she stops because they don’t even know this kid's name, “uh?” She looks to Tony for any help that he may be able to give in this rare situation.

Peter smiles putting his hand out to Tony introducing himself, “Peter Parker, and I’m sorry,” he whispers the last bit sorry about the inconvenience he’s causing. 

Knowing the kid feels bad about the situation Tony knows the sympathy that he feels is also extended to Pepper, “hey FRIDAY? Where’s Mr Parker’s tour group?” Tony asks the AI excited for this very intelligent kid's reaction, hopefully, a good one. 

“My Parker’s tour group left 2 hours ago,” FRIDAY responds and Tony recognises the slight sympathy in her tone and Peter’s reaction to the AI is not the one he expected, “they left without me?” The kid says quietly and it only makes Tony and Pepper feel worse. 

Tony does what Tony does best and instead puts a big smile and finds charm in a bad situation, “well we don’t need them, I’ll get Pepper to call whoever is on your emergency contact and I can give you a private tour instead.” Tony gives Pepper a pleading look but Pepper already has her phone out emailing Happy for paperwork, for some reason this kid is changing them both.

“How would you like to see my private lab?” and the excitement that Peter has on his face makes everything worth the whole situation.

Later that night Pepper and Tony sit on one of the many covered couches, covered in white fabric ready to be shipped to malibu, “I don’t want to leave,” Tony sighs leaning his head on Pepper’s shoulder, “we shouldn’t sell the tower.”

Smiling Pepper nods, “I think that’s a good idea.” 

Who knew a kid could save a whole tower and relationship, a whole world?

"Are you going to give him the ring; the one that belonged to your mother?" Happy asked, looking away from the starkpad he'd been typing into and back toward Tony. 

"Yes, well, I mean, if he says yes; then yes," Tony stammered, fidgeting with his tie trying to loosen it. God, why was he so nervous? Bucky would say yes, they'd talked about it many times before, just neither of them actually asked; so he'd say yes...right? 

"Get it together, Tony," Happy chimed, smiling at Tony with a look of fondness one only finds in old friends. Patting him on the shoulder and giving it a light squeeze, he continued his assurances, "He's going to say yes. I know it, you know it; literally everyone knows it; and I think he'll love the ring."

"I know, but-" 

"No buts! You two are perfect for each other, and you're gonna be perfectly happy together. Besides, Pepper and I have already made plans for your wedding, so don't flake out on me now. Please? Because Pepper would kill me, Tony. Kill me," he said, bringing his hand up and running a finger across his neck in imitation of a knife for emphasis. 

"Hap, what?!" Tony shrieked, half astounded, half surprised, "Are you serious?!" Tony's head reared back and a belt of laughter bubbled out.

"Yes, I'm serious. Look at my face Tony, don't I look serious to you? Is this face not serious?" 

"Whoa there, Hap, calm down," he said still chuckling, "I meant about having plans already made for my wedding, not Pepper killing you. We all love and fear Pep's wrath, she is not to be trifled with." 

"Exactly my point!" Happy exclaimed with wide eyes. A fondness found its way to the man's face once more, reaching out to place his hand gently on Tony's shoulder again, "Now go get your man, Tony," he said with a soft, earnest smile. 

"Yeah, yeah I'm gonna go do that," Tony said with a quick nod, planting his feet firmly on the ground. He stared at the door with a newfound determination; chomping down on the pattering his poor heart was doing inside his chest; then waltzed out. 

He was going to ask Bucky Barnes to marry him, and he was certain the man would say yes. 

Okay, well maybe twelve percent could be left to uncertainty; but his hopes were high.

What I worked on this week:

Tension - 1,564 words. Square for TSB Bingo.  Sort of Steve x Tony. Sort of Bucky x Tony. Dash of Steve x Bucky. Mostly, it’s a mess.

MTH #1 fic - 125 words. It’s too fantastic to spoil.

Afternoon Delight - 2,060 words. ‘office’ square for Marvel Polyship Bingo that’s Nat x Bucky x Tony. Fun office PWP ;) 

Heat Fic - 3,875 words. Square for TSB card. Stuckony A/B/O that’s more angst than anything else at the moment. 

Stuckony prompt - 2,711 words. Upon joining the wonderful Stuckony server, I came across their Winter Wonderland prompt event and am co-writing a piece with @bill-longbow and @betheflame!! Be excited ;) 

For a total of : 10,335 words this week.

This week was rough. It doesn’t look like it from the words written, but if you look at the project choices compared to what I was meant to be working on... there’s a dissonance there. Work stress is leaking over into the things that are supposed to be fun. Ugh. 

It’s fine. I’m deviating from the plan I had, but that’s not necessarily a terrible thing. Some of these things are going to take longer than I thought they would, but hopefully they’ll be worth the effort. I just currently feel buried under all these wonderful fic ideas and ahhhh it shouldn’t be stressful, but I’m feeling a little stressed.

The first and last time you stepped foot in Sovokia, you had to lose the love of your life. It was over two years ago, closing in on the third anniversary with only a few days to suffer. When the battle was happening, you were a wide-eyed teen girl desperately in love with Pietro, now you're a single mother in need of closure.

You've lived with Pietro by your side in spirit, but you needed to allow yourself to finally heal. You and your two year old daughter, Nadya Pietra, had made the journey to her father's final resting place. It seemed funny to you, how you had your whole life planned out with little tolerance for change. However, as life decided to fuck you over, you quickly learned that your plans were vague guidelines for what was going to happen. As soon as the plane landed, you choked back tears and put on a brave face for Nadya.

Press was waiting for the “Brokenhearted Lover” of the “Sovokian Heartthrob” and the “Hope/Light of Sovokia” in the baggage claim of the airport. Your daughter was placed in the public eye before she was born and was constantly patronized to be the perfect Sovokian girl. If it wasn't for Tony, you, Pietro, or her abilities, Nadya would be the best, normal kid ever.

Your ‘body guards’ helped keep the hounds at bay. It was best for you to go about your visit as normally as possible; if you talked to the press, everything would escalate. You kept a straight face, the only thought running your head was “if I could speak my mind and not get scandals, I would.” But, you didn't because you were here to honor your fallen lover, not making a scene.

You can faintly remember the first time your were on television. A photo of you holding a dead Pietro was plastered everywhere with the headlines saying “Star-Crossed Lovers Separated by Death” or some outrageous bull shit like that. They chalked you up for some dumb American girl who fell in love with a gorgeous, foreign boy.

When it was revealed that you were pregnant with his child, oh god al-fucking-mighty, were you being portrayed as a starlet to the whole world. You had masses and masses of people supporting you and your unborn child.

The media had made comments about how you were going to be a failed mother and how you would crumple under the weight of the world watching you. But they bet on the wrong horse. You were resilient and proving all the tabloids wrong.

Oh my, don't they hate to see us try

In the end we're gonna be just fine

And, as the world would have it, tabloids made up lies and rumors about the legitimacy of Nadya being Pietro's. The Avengers, especially Wanda, wouldn't take the onslaught of falsehoods. They helped you stand up and fight for the honor of your love and child.

It took months, but everything died down and you could take in everything that had happened. You could actually be a new mother to your daughter.

You made it to Pietro's grave site uninterrupted with your daughter, telling her about her daddy and how wonderful he was. She wouldn't remember her first visit to Sovokia, but Nadya would make the trip many times in her life. It would become a tradition for the two of you.

Nadya would tell you that her father misses you, loves you, and wishes he could be there with you. Your daughter would tell you that she could see her late father's spirit, expressing her gift.

When Nadya turned 12, she asked if you could visit Sovokia again for her birthday. Of course you wouldn't deny her. On the last day you were there, she led you across the city to her father's grave. In her father's mother tongue, she bought flowers from a market stall and gave a rose to every old lady, little boy or girl, and happy couple she saw.

At the grave, she placed the final bloom on his headstone. “Dad, I miss you every day and I know you miss us too. I just-” she started to choke up. “I just want you to know that you're good to go to heaven now.”
