Sketches for our next project after Highly Unconventional and A Gilded Cage

The written fic accompanying this is going to be explicit, but the au itself is sfw. May I present to the audience the next annual TSBS Hunger Games?

You’re gonna be seeing a lot of this before we even start the writing just because of how much world building needs done beforehand.

There’s 51 identified characters so far. 24 tributes. 24 mentors. And 3 capital residents (President, Host, Chaperone). Every character is getting several references and it’s gonna be a process but we’re very excited. (To the point that we’ve only been focused on this for the past two days).

This is an AU that is set in a completely different universe than TSAMS. I won’t give away too much right now, but I’m very very invested in this project. It’s definitely going to be an artistic challenge as well because I’m not used to half of these characters. Not to mention some of the mentors are so obscure there’s barely any refs of them. . .

30 days writing challenge

Menulis tentang cinta.. Cinta itu luas, bisa cinta kepada Allah, orang tua, kakak-adik, anak.. Aku akan lebih spesifik mengenai cinta kepada pasangan atau lawan jenis.. Menurutku cinta itu rasa positif yang membuat satu sama lain nyaman dan ketergantungan, mereka akan saling berekspektasi satu sama lain, merasa aman saat saling dekat kalo lg jauh ada rasa rindu.

Biasanya awal timbul rasa cinta begitu menggebu biasanya digambarkan dgn "there's a butterfly in my tummy", sampe benar kata orang kalo cinta gapake logika, semuanya dianggap benar dan tepat bahkan buta karena cinta. Memang kalo dengan org yg tepat semuanya akan berjalan lancar dan indah, bahkan bisa mematahkan "tak ada logika" tsb. Kalo bukan dengan org yg tepat mungkin akan berakhir dengan patah hati.

Cinta datang kadang memang tanpa permisi, tanpa rencana, kebetulan katanya.. Ada yg terbiasa karena bareng terus, ada yg memang sengaja mencari, ada yg tiba2 datang saja. Se random itu rasa cinta itu yah? Kalo gitu apa rasa cinta gampang timbul? Memang tergantung individu masing2, tergantung kebutuhannya juga dan tergantung siap dengan segala "resiko" nya. Yah memang punya rasa cinta pastilah ada resikonya walaupun terasa indah, relatif sih bisa kecil bisa besar. Semuanya tergantung orangnya, situasi dan kondisi saat itu, dan hati kita masing2.

Jadi kalo bisa disimpulkan cinta itu indah tapi rumit, bisa in a good way or bad way. Maka pelihara cinta sebaik mungkin, semaksimal mungkin. Karena tidak bisa dipungkiri cinta akan pudar seiring waktu, sikon, pemikiran msg2 individu, hati yg terbolak balik. Pupuk cinta selagi masih bisa, masih ada kesempatan, maut masih belum memisahkan, sebelum terjadi penyesalan seumur hidup karena menyia2kan cinta. Ingat pengorbanan mendapatkan cinta, memelihara cinta.. Sungguh tidak mudah. Ada waktu, tenaga, air mata yang terkuras dikerahkan semua agar selalu "on track".

Diluaran sana memang keliatannya selalu ada cinta yg lebih baik setelah cinta yg usang tidak di pupuk. Tapi ada kah jaminan cinta yg lebih baik itu suatu saat tidak usang? Mau dengan individu manapun rasa cinta akan tetap sama ya gitu aja seperti lingkaran.. Awal mula menggebu, seiring waktu akan usang bila tidak di pupuk, lalu rasa cinta hilang..

Itu semua hanya pendapat pribadi tentangku yang punya pengalaman selama 3 thn pacaran lanjut 5 thn menikah dengan lelaki yang sama. Kami sedang ditahap menimbulkan lagi rasa cinta maksudnya rasa cinta selalu ada cuma kadarnya ingin kita tingkatkan lg kalo bisa kaya awal2 pacaran? Mungkin ngga yah hehehe, mudah2an rasa cinta akan selalu ada till jannah. Aamiin

Seen this place before

Back when I was young and I had something more to prove

Now that I'm older I've seen all the things that I want

And I'm ready to make my move

The first and last time you stepped foot in Sovokia, you had to lose the love of your life. It was over two years ago, closing in on the third anniversary with only a few days to suffer. When the battle was happening, you were a wide-eyed teen girl desperately in love with Pietro, now you're a single mother in need of closure.

You've lived with Pietro by your side in spirit, but you needed to allow yourself to finally heal. You and your two year old daughter, Nadya Pietra, had made the journey to her father's final resting place. It seemed funny to you, how you had your whole life planned out with little tolerance for change. However, as life decided to fuck you over, you quickly learned that your plans were vague guidelines for what was going to happen. As soon as the plane landed, you choked back tears and put on a brave face for Nadya.

Press was waiting for the “Brokenhearted Lover” of the “Sovokian Heartthrob” and the “Hope/Light of Sovokia” in the baggage claim of the airport. Your daughter was placed in the public eye before she was born and was constantly patronized to be the perfect Sovokian girl. If it wasn't for Tony, you, Pietro, or her abilities, Nadya would be the best, normal kid ever.

Your ‘body guards’ helped keep the hounds at bay. It was best for you to go about your visit as normally as possible; if you talked to the press, everything would escalate. You kept a straight face, the only thought running your head was “if I could speak my mind and not get scandals, I would.” But, you didn't because you were here to honor your fallen lover, not making a scene.

You can faintly remember the first time your were on television. A photo of you holding a dead Pietro was plastered everywhere with the headlines saying “Star-Crossed Lovers Separated by Death” or some outrageous bull shit like that. They chalked you up for some dumb American girl who fell in love with a gorgeous, foreign boy.

When it was revealed that you were pregnant with his child, oh god al-fucking-mighty, were you being portrayed as a starlet to the whole world. You had masses and masses of people supporting you and your unborn child.

The media had made comments about how you were going to be a failed mother and how you would crumple under the weight of the world watching you. But they bet on the wrong horse. You were resilient and proving all the tabloids wrong.

Oh my, don't they hate to see us try

Come on say what you think

It won't mean a thing

In the end we're gonna be just fine

And, as the world would have it, tabloids made up lies and rumors about the legitimacy of Nadya being Pietro's. The Avengers, especially Wanda, wouldn't take the onslaught of falsehoods. They helped you stand up and fight for the honor of your love and child.

It took months, but everything died down and you could take in everything that had happened. You could actually be a new mother to your daughter.

You made it to Pietro's grave site uninterrupted with your daughter, telling her about her daddy and how wonderful he was. She wouldn't remember her first visit to Sovokia, but Nadya would make the trip many times in her life. It would become a tradition for the two of you.

Nadya would tell you that her father misses you, loves you, and wishes he could be there with you. Your daughter would tell you that she could see her late father's spirit, expressing her gift.

When Nadya turned 12, she asked if you could visit Sovokia again for her birthday. Of course you wouldn't deny her. On the last day you were there, she led you across the city to her father's grave. In her father's mother tongue, she bought flowers from a market stall and gave a rose to every old lady, little boy or girl, and happy couple she saw.

At the grave, she placed the final bloom on his headstone. “Dad, I miss you every day and I know you miss us too. I just-” she started to choke up. “I just want you to know that you're good to go to heaven now.”

Tony was angry and trying to pass it off as confusion. “Not sure what you’re talking about, Bucky Ball. I already forgave you, there was a press conference and everything, I can have FRIDAY send you the clips if you’ve forgotten…”

“You publicly forgave me because you think I might be needed when this Titan guy shows up. You snowed Steve about it so he would let you work on my arm for the same reason.” Yeah, he KNEW that, but Barnes had played along with the social fiction up till now. “But the Accords Council wants you on the same team as Steve, and he won’t hear of me being anywhere else, and not killing me for the good of the planet isn’t gonna cut it when we have to train together.”

Great, all the times for the Terminator to grow a brain… “I’m not killing you because I’m not a murderer. I’m keeping you out of the psychiatric facility you belong in for the sake of the planet.” He couldn’t even enjoy the score properly, this man was going to give him an ulcer. “But fine, yeah, I’m holding a grudge. You think it’s effecting my performance so far, bring it up with Danvers.”

“I think you’re gonna tear yourself apart not letting it effect you, and I think the others are still picking up on the lack of trust and it’s throwing them off!” The supersoldier backed away a step and ran his hands through his hair in frustration. “Look, most of the team, including Steve, is going to DC for an assessment next week. He didn’t want to leave me here alone,” the ‘with you’ was clear in the brief pause, “but I had a consult with Dr Cho. I cancelled it but got Miss Friday to leave it on the calendar.”

Tony gave him a considering look. “So you have a couple of days without a chaperone, what exactly do you propose to do with them?”

“Whatever you want. Seriously, Stark, you want some revenge, get it. You know of anything I can do to earn your forgiveness, say the word. As long as we can keep it from Steve, it’s whatever you want.”

“Is this for me to get the grudge out of my system, or are you looking for some absolution?”

Barnes looked away. “Whatever lets us work together to keep the planet safe, right?”

“Huh. I’ll think about it. Keep your schedule clear.”

Bentar. Sejak kapan hidup hamba punya schedule?

Sejak aing kehilangan pekerjaan, keseharian gue tuh ibarat mengundang band rock metalika untuk nyanyi di kondangan orang nikah yg pake konsep royal wedding.

Kadang jadi kalong. Kadang jadi bunglon. Seringnya jadi-jadian sih, karena beneran gak terarah gitu aktivitasnya. Target gak aing setting. Progres apapun nihil. Achievement apalagi. Masih mending kayaknya hidup kecoa terbang yang punya visi misi nakutin orang orang di sekitarnya. Lumayan kan memacu adrenalin umat manusia tanpa harus ke dufan. Tuh, lebih bermanfaat hidupnya.

Oke mulai oleng.

Tadi gue gak sengaja pas ngescroll home yt ada video seorang cewe yg buat challenge "menerapkan jadwal hidup seorang Haruki Murakami dalam seminggu". Tiga hari pertama beliau rasanya kek mau mati ceunah pengen give up. Tapi di hari keempat sampe ketujuh, perubahan positifnya baru beneran kerasa. Salut 👏👏👏

Lantas sisi songong dan gataudiri gue pun bergejolak. Pengen coba challenge nya juga. Punya schedule ala ala pakde Haruki. Dengan sedikit perubahan tentunya, karena aing tidak mungkin bisa lari 10km hahaha becanda nih pakde hahaha 😭. Mungkin gue akan ganti dengan senam, atau latihan dance, atau zumba. Gimana? Gimana??

Trus kan, bagian nulis 4 - 6 jam itu juga gue khawatir. Ya emang sih gue suka nulis. Tapi kalo setelah 6 jam yg gue dapati cuma "what the hell am i writing?" tuh hmm keknya terlalu (((((boros waktu))))) seperti yg selama ini maneh lakukan hw. Mungkin di awal bakal diisi dengan latihan lagi ngetik sepuluh jari, ngumpulin ide menulis, atau belajar bahasa asing aja sekalian yekan.

Nah kekhawatiran terakhir adalah jam 9 teng tidur. Jam... sembilan... teng...! Ini part tergatel yg bikin aing insekyur bisa gak yaaa bisa gak yaaa duh. We are talking about manusia nokturnal ini masalahnya bun. Yang ada aing bangun jam 9, bukan tidur jam 9 😳. Tapi ga boleh. Namanya juga challenge, aing harus kudu siap dengan segala perubahan dan konsistensi dan komitmen dan persistent dan dan dan bentuk keseriusan lainnya.

Tujuan aing menulis kesongongan mengikuti challenge ini adalah supaya tida ada alasan bagi gue untuk menyerah di tengah jalan. Dan kalo ada angin angin gak enak menyerang tuh biar aing teringet...

Dan rencananya, gue akan mulai challenge tsb saat drama dismenore ini berakhir. Karena yakali punya schedule begitu saat period. Pakde mungkin bisa praktekin terus itu schedule rutin tiap hari tanpa jeda. Beliau kan tidak disamlekumin sama tamu spesial tiap bulan.

Of all of your OCs, which did you have the most fun, or spent the most time on, coming up with?

Hmm, interesting questions. Most fun I can’t decide. Each OC brings something different to the table, so they’re all fun in their own unique ways. I know that definitely sounds super cliche but it’s true. Maggie is different from Daisy is different from Mimi is different from Riley, you know, and each one presents various challenges and obstacles, but once I can find that little thing that sparks the fire that pushes their story forward, they’re all really exciting to plan for!

I absolutely have spent the most time planning Maggie, hands down. I spent about a year and a half just outlining the movies and trying to see where she would fit before I started really writing anything super serious. Then I spent literally all of last summer writing out the important scenes from Civil War with Maggie in them so I could build a foundation for TSB and know roughly what happened in CW and be able to get into Maggie’s head space going into the first chapter of TSB. Plus you could count the first drafts as a version of planning since they give me a bare bones look at how the story is going to progress, so I know what I need to add when I go back and rewrite for the next draft

Terrible writing week, as I only wrote the one day. All I wanted to do this past week was read & knit, so that’s what I did. I’m still 2 books behind my reading challenge this year of 100 books in 2020, but I’m catching up. Kind of. Sort of. Maybe. Knitting is great, though I do need to figure out some ergonomic knitting techniques because my wrist was hurting yesterday, oops. 

Anyway, writing is going to happen today and hopefully that will get me back in the groove.

Hey! I don’t mean this to sound pushy or demanding, simply curious. Have you sideline How to Drown in favor of your fix it fix? Both are phenomenal and your writing is captivating.

For the moment, yes. Looking back over my older notes, and my own memory, it seems that there are only three more chapters of HTDITD left – and that the au was created for very specific, shippy purposes and plot kind of snuck up on me. It’s definitely a fic I want to return to, and finish before I (eventually, probably) leave the Shallura fandom. A final parting gift, in a way. And also a bookend that it was a fic I started shortly after s1.

Right now, TSBS (fix it fic) is a lot more time consuming and interesting for me. It’s also a lot more ambitious and I want to challenge myself with it. That being said, I’m edging towards a more serious part of the fix it fic with the finale and start of my fan-season three on the horizon, in addition to reaching a very intense emotional/sad part of my original series around the same time. 

So I might try and go back to HTDITD in between sad chapters as they’ll be more light hearted / have smaller stakes and more easily reachable happy endings.
