#ts4 home remodel

:-3 i made another sims apartment, this time for my dol pc + sydney! if it were to be a canonical representation, it'd have to be their place when they're older and not during the game's timeline haha. but i think the apt is cute! under cut bc there's a few pictures (also shared some pics of the sims themselves at the end!)

entryway! i recolored the accent walls to be a dark brown bc it was ugly base sims orange at first. these kindsa "fake fancy" apartments always have wall scones but no overhead lights so i made sure to put those in too.

kitchen! & a portion of the living room. i realize now i didn't take very good pictures of the kitchen lol, the parts you cant see too well is a counter with some kitchen clutter, microwave, and overhead counters. also put up a small herb shelf and aprons (i thought it'd be cute if they got a set!).

it's a pretty small place, but the size felt right! there's an attempt at splitting the room into a living room & bedroom, but it's still pretty small. i included a few of the things from eris' orphanage room too :>! in true sydney fashion, i don't think he'd of brought too many of his own personal touches to the apartment and would be more content to just let eris fill it up and decorate it however he thought looked nice. still tried to add some of his own touches to the place though, like the books and ocean themed paintings!

bathroom's very tiny, but still cozy enough. tried to add just a little more clutter to it to make it feel lived in :3 specific things of note is the jewelry dish for their promise rings and sydney's cross, and the bathmat being "bookworm" themed - eris would definitely gift sydney things like that to fill their apt with, so he also has his own things!

and the sims themselves, i think they're cute! in true dol fashion, they immediately banged upon being in their new apartment for not even one minute LMAO... obviously im not gonna share screencaps of That but i thought simsyd's face here was cute huhu and its sfw enough to share,

they went to a karaoke bar, got sims wasted and then sang really off pitch together after that HAHA.

1 - What’s your muse’s home address/the area they live in? What is the area like?

They live in a small neighborhood called "Forgotten Hollow." It's dark a lot, because the neighborhood is populated mainly by vampires. They live in a residence called "Wolfsbane Manor."

2 - How many rooms does their home have?

Assuming you keep it the way it is when you first load the game, it has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. There is a bonus room upstairs, a large kitchen open to a dining room, and a living room.

3 - How are the individual rooms furnished?

It's an interesting blend of an old Victorian style and modern style. Lots of grey, too. They also light the rooms with candles rather than modern lights.

4 - Do they have a garage? Garden? Balcony?

They do not have a garage (but TS4 doesn't have cars anyway). They have a front porch, and they do have a garden but they seem to have been too overwhelmed to care for it. (Which, given their lore, is understandable.)

5 - What are their neighbours like?

Next door is Vladislaus "Vlad" Straud. He is their instructor in the vampiric arts...or, at least, he was until they had a falling out. He mostly hangs out in his basement playing his pipe organ. Other than that, when you first load the game, across the street is an empty lot, and next door is Garliclauter Place, a home that was once inhabited by a couple of non-vampire yuppies from San Myshuno who didn't quite realize what they were getting themselves into, and ultimately abandoned the house.

6 - Describe their home’s layout in detail!

It's a Victorian-style house. You walk in from the wraparound front porch to a foyer that has a mirror. To one side is the living room (where you'll often find them playing chess, and the other side has a full bath. Also on the main floor is the kitchen (a large, modern chef's kitchen that I'm assuming Caleb had remodeled shortly after he and Lilith moved in). Upstairs are the primary bedroom with an en suite bath, another bedroom, a hall bath, and (oddly enough) a kids' room (even though Caleb and Lilith didn't grow up in this house, and they are not a couple). I have no idea why that's there. Up one more flight of stairs is a little bonus room they haven't really done anything with (though it makes a good spot for a study, or a little yoga studio, or a reading nook.)

7 - Do they own their home or rent it?

They own the home. It may have started as a rent-to-own from Vlad.

8 - How much time do they spend at home?

A good amount of time.

9 - In what kind of home did they grow up?

They grew up in a vastly different home in the Base Game world of Willow Creek. Their childhood home was bright and cheery in a way that Wolfsbane Manor just...isn't. There was a lot of artwork on the walls because their mother was an artist, and also lots of "Eye of the Watcher" sculptures, because their parents (particularly their father) were very devout Worshippers of the Watcher.

10 - If they have a garden - what does it look like? Do they take care of it?

They seem to have some rose bushes out front, but they've become overgrown and sorta dead or dormant. I guess they just had too much going on just trying to adjust to being vampires, and taking care of the garden fell by the wayside.

This old factory was remodeled into a lovely lofted home. I imagined that some of the old machines would still be left behind, too big to move just yet, the public bathrooms redone to fit the needs of a household. I’m always a sucker for industrial builds!

:} i have made sai's sim house..! huhuhu. in canon he would have his own apartment too, so i tried to keep that in mind! it's pretty run down but he doesn't mind it. a lot of his decoration choices are solely based on whim and vibes & a lot of his possessions are honestly probably scavenged or secondhand. also lookit his cute lil face!

there honestly isnt too much to show off! a small living room + kitchen space. i decided to give him a pet, which is honestly probably just one of the mice he caught from the apartment and decided on a whim to take care of it like a pet LOL

there isnt much to say about the bathroom. i made it a little more open/japanese bath unit inspired (loosely inspired haha) but its... just a bathroom otherwise. nothing fancy.

the bedroom had included that chair outlooking the city/park below when i first moved him in and honestly... yeah. why not - he'd love to sit there and observe people like they were little ants. again, a random assortment of Things, and a shit ton of books.

saisim has taken to knitting right away. and his old sim self had a tech career so i gave his updated self one too (diligently programming in second pic!). I ALSO... I DIDNT REALIZE i had moved him into the same apt building as sydsim and simeris :"D i really wasn't paying attention to where i was placing him other than "hm, this place looks small but workable enough".

they all very cutely introduced themselves and hung out at sai's house. didn't think too much about it before, but they'd all probably get along in canon too...

syderis made sure to also kiss while sai was out of the room LMAO *squirt bottles them*.....

and silly bonus pic: when i was in CAS i was checking on some other CC that i had got, making sure it worked and etc. using sai as the model, and thus...

Catscratch Cottage Revisited

This weekend I decided to give Catarina Lynx and her Cottage a bit of a makeover.  Okay, well maybe in the case of the of the cottage it was more like a complete renovation. As you can see in the pictures it’s still a very cat friendly cottage.  I lost track of how many of the ceramic cat sculptures I placed in the lot, but it was a lot of them.  As for Catarina herself,  I basically aged her up to an elder, and changed her wardrobe to something more age appropriate for an elderly cat lady.  I also changed her last name to Katzenberger.

Pleasantview hasn’t much, I mostly haven’t had the need/want to remodel some homes yet and have added a few more in. I’m not much of a builder but I’ve built one home from scratch, one apartment building from scratch and for a few houses and the other apartment building I used floor plans from ts4. There aren’t many of the original inhabitants left and the town is about to get connected to Downtown.
