I noticed a few suggestions to redo the default fantasy tone ramps in my tone ramp replacer for my default skin, so here's an updated version!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Make sure the default skin linked above is installed, then go back and download this! If you have the tone ramp replacement (separate file in the old post, NOT the same as the default skin), make sure to switch out that file for this new one. It contains both the fantasy tones pictured here as well as the natural skin tones.

Also if you haven't already, pick up the extra tone ramps from the original download! That adds several new natural undertones to choose from.

Finished all of Celebrimbor's kids. They're not supposed to be in the same universe (Half Vala Tyelpe vs Gil-Maeglin AUs), but I gave Elach the benefit of the doubt. And then she started flirting with Sauron and I had to move her out.

sims 3 anime head progress report:

fixed the ascending verts, added seam between the neck and scalp (back scalp seam sucks still but i CBA rn). re-uv'd the brows to work with the stock brow alignment, and then spent the entire rest of the day trying to make the fucking ear morph work (which i finally succeeded at, see elf ears)

i still gotta figure out the weird scar-like shading artifact and the messed up shading around the neck , but i think once i iron those out i'd be in the clear to start slogging through overriding every single vanilla morph

because ts3 lacks perma-bound slots like ts4's skindetails (tattoos and universally applied makeup seem to be textures only?), i was planning on using the slider system now that i have it figured out for things like eyelash and eye shape

and then i have to do the lods and the morphs for the lods but im pretending REALLY HARD not to think abt that. and also the rest of the age groups [i shudder in fear]

Captain Harlock characters in The Sims 3! I'm gonna need to find good alien eyes for Miime and either a better hairstyle for Tochiro or a better texture for the hair, but I'm happy with the results so far. ^_^

Ugh, yesterday I downloaded a ton of CC for Sims 3 to try to get back into it. Loading time in CAS was painful, but even still, I'm already tempted to rip it all out and challenge myself to play vanilla.

But then I'm gonna be right back where I started and go "Why can't I love TS3 again? And I hate the faces."

You know, I really like downloading default skins for TS2/3 but I'm always worried I'll find something that I like better and it'll make all my screenshots look crazy as sims wildly fluctuate between default skins.

Plus when I put makeup on sims it's almost always on default maxis or a slightly modified maxis and I just don't want to have to redo all that makeup. 😩

Default recommendations? I'm leaning towards Lilith's honey skin defaults for ts2. Any similar skins for 3?

Fresh Primer - A SKINBLEND FOR TS3

hello everyone! I am so happy to finally upload Fresh Primer, I know it was a more anticipated project of mine! this skin is a mix of Ephemera’s Fresh Skin and Kurasoberina’s Primer Skin...two out of three of my favorite skins to exist for TS3! as mentioned in this post, this concept was made sometime last year right before my first PC died on me and I am happy that I could finally get back around to it!

the name itself is self-explanatory of how it came to be, but I had this idea of thinking of a "fresh" coat of paint for skins that are so loved in this community! but enough of me rambling on, that tends to happen, especially because I am sick right now with a cold.

Hello Everyone! I’m sorry this update took so long to get out to everybody.

Default Skin + Dark Tone Addon 2.0

This is my updated version of the skin I made here. It is far from perfect, however it has major improvements in the eye and nose areas. It also adds age detail to adult and elder sim faces. Children and toddlers also look better now (and the child life stage should be included in the file this time, so sorry for not including it before!!). 

I also reduced the texture size. For most users this change shouldn’t be noticeable, aside from the game running a bit smoother. Current textures should be 1K faces and 2K bodies. If I have time, I might make a version with smaller textures for players who need it.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Put these in the Overrides subsection of your Mods folder. Make sure you don’t have a default replacement skin in your game already. You will need BOTH the Default Skin and the Tone Ramp Replacement files for your skin to display correctly. The other two files are non-default, but still highly recommended as they provide a wider range of skin tones.

If you have the old version installed, make sure to remove that before using this one.

KNOWN ISSUES:

Scalp on the dark tone for default replacement/light tone for the addon has seams near the forehead. I tried my best to make it less noticeable, but with the skill and technology I currently have, this was the best I could do. I may go back and fix it later, and of course if someone more skilled wants to do it in the meantime, feel free to do so and tag me so I can use it too lol.

Just follow the other creators’ TOUs. Feel free to tag me if you use these or make something with them! I’d love to see it.

neroli - a skin blend for TS3

Ok no more group pics because I got sick of posing all my sims together.

This skin is a mix of Ephemera's Freckle R skin, Realistic skin, Fresh skin, Buffy's V4 skin (used as the base), and a hint of Noodlesim's Apple Cider Vinegar V2 skin. Yeah, a real concoction, I know.

It favours a more realistic sunkissed look, and has freckle details on the teen, adult and elder faces. Male textures have very subtle freckles on the face and some light hair on the body; female textures have stronger freckles on the face and the standard smooth Ephemera body texture.

It reminds me of a carefree day spent in the sun...

I think Ephemera's realistic skins are gorgeous but I found it hard to make them work for my sim style. So this blend is my way of adapting those realistic details for my own aesthetics. Personally I love how it came out.

Thank you @sim-songs for encouraging me to finish this up and get it ready for general use, because after I finished the adult stages I was ready to leave it hanging in forever-wip-purgatory. And thank you to @tau1tvec @descendantdragfi for testing an early version of this skin blend many months ago - it's finally done now. 🤪
