hi ! (love your blog, and sorry if this is annoying/you're not taking random questions) but I was wondering if you had any ideas about where Korra's little headpiece/bun comes from/is inspired by? seems like its her go-to formal look
(again, love ur blog and all the research that goes into it <3)
Thanks for all the love! ^_^
Hair buns appear to be a style traditional to Inuit women in Greenland. They decorate them with little embroidered fabrics attached to hairpins. They're really cute!
Another traditional hairstyle that's uniquely Greenlandic is this "8"-shaped, double-looped hair bun that you see in old photographs. It's sometimes decorated with strings of beads that lay delicately over the hair bun, which looks really elegant.
I absolutely adore the last girl's hairstyle.
As for the little bonnet that she wears over her hair bun, that's more a general anime design trope. I guess it adds visual interest? I think it looks really pretty.
Like what I’m doing? Tips always appreciated, never expected. ^_^

# Post-TOH Things
Long post ahead and some spoilers !
Just finished TOH today and not over it. I'm in my denial and lies down and try not to cry phase
Lots of feelings I have yet to even process, but what I can say coherently are the following:
Queer representation along with found family, non-traditional family, old people romance (esp this, more rant on this later), neurodivergent-coded characters, diverse characters, single parents, adoptive families, actually supportive parents, and an environment of support and love in one show?? I had no idea what a ride The Owl House was going to be. Heck I am even healing (in a way) with all that tropes mentioned
Old queer people !!! Like fuck yeah we need more of that. Adult queer people getting old and being themselves is just *chef's kiss*. It's good to see adult queers living their lives, which tbf, was something past-me thought was possible. Also old queer people romance (with lots of angst like Raeda) - exquisite. Gotta love the depth of that lore
Lilith Clawthorne - eldest daughter trauma and how the family dynamics formed and influenced her. Like girl became an overachieving, people-pleasing nerd who craved validation and attention. I would have wanted more of that explored and contrasted with Eda

This past year has been absolute hell, so my concept of time has been thrown off. I keep thinking I started watching "The Owl House" in like December 2023, but it was January 5 that I signed up for Disney+ and February 5 that I posted my first fanart (naturally, Raeda LOL). Weird to think I've only been involved for like nine months...and I'm already on my fifth or sixth rewatch.

Perfect! I love mice.
You show up for your first day at Copyright-Free Magic School. As you're going through orientation, you're informed that all new students get a school-assigned familiar that they are responsible for housing and maintaining. The staff member assures you that your assigned familiar is appropriately chosen and reflects you in some way.
Spin this to find out yours. (Remember, you are responsible for maintaining this familiar in your dorm room.)

this is definitely NOT the moon girl episode with a trans character that disney shelved and has no plans on airing and i am definitely NOT advising you to spread it around like wildfire in retaliation to this stupid-ass chickenshit coward decision. i repeat, i am DEFINITELY not encouraging you to spread this episode around like crazy to show disney that trans people will not bow down to the whims of the people that want them dead. definitely DON'T do that. definitely
