All of this to say, I'm playing Lilly-Bo Chique and Beau Merrick in my personal game and I am absolutely smitten with this couple and their kooky family (including the aforementioned Flo-Flo, as well as Lilly-Bo and Beau's son, Cyril)

Sims 3 makeover: the Cook family from Bridgeport

Lady Cook, Elspeth Cook, Jeffrey Cook and Cressida Wells

I've been making over Sims to (in my opinion) better match their described favorite colors, personalities, and make them look a little nicer. I actually did all of Sunset Valley and I realized others might be interested in seeing them, so maybe I'll post them later. :)

Let me know if you'd like to know where any of the CC is from, I should hopefully be able to track it down.

I also changed their descriptions a little bit and fiddled with some other things - see below the cut:

So, the description says Lady and Jeffrey dislike each other. In-game, that's not the case, so I used nraas to make them hate each other, LOL.

Here are my updates of their personality descriptions:

Lady: Lady Cook doesn't particularly care for her husband, but she does love the life that comes with him. When she isn't busy being pampered by the family's live-in spa specialist, she can be found downtown shopping at the fanciest stores.

Elspeth: Elspeth hasn't been raised in an ideal household, to say the least. She wants some kind of revenge on her parents, but would the best revenge be to live an honest life?

Jeffrey: Jeffrey isn't an evil politician, but he's not unselfish, either. He uses his reputation as a highly-regarded and trusted official to fulfill his personal agendas. When push comes to shove, you can count on Jeffrey to bend.

Cressida: When Cressida moved to Bridgeport, she took a job as the Cook family's live-in spa specialist. She's not blind to Jeffrey and Lady Cook's shenanigans.

Some other notes:

I didn't change any traits with this household, but I have with previous households. Their traits match what's listed on the wiki still.

I did a new outfit for all 5 - 6 outfits for each person. Thought that might be a lot to post, but maybe in future posts!

I also redo all the sims' houses to match their personalities and descriptions better. I'm not done with that for the Cook family yet.

I haven't been changing any of the sims genetics, and don't plan to - I want to see how I can change their looks with just CC.

I generally like Maxis-matchy stuff.

Roy takes a lot more care than usual choosing what to wear before he goes downstairs to join Anya, but he needs the time to steady his nerves and to think. He hopes the lump in his stomach can be dissolved with a couple of beers. Not too many, because he needs to keep his wits about him. He cannot underestimate Anya, that much he realises. She may be young and lacking in life experience, but her intuition is as sharp as her cheekbones.

She is waiting for him on the black leather couch, staring at the news on the TV. The volume is so low he can barely make out what the news anchor is saying. He goes to the fridge and grabs a beer and sits down next to her.

“You took a while getting changed,” she says.

“I couldn’t find my socks,” he says, taking a long swig from his beer bottle. ”I think the maid is getting our laundry confused. Do you know if you have any of my my socks in your sock drawer?”

“I’ll have a look,” she says.”But I think we have more important things to discuss right now than socks, Roy.”

She shoots him a reproving look. He tries to look appropriately sombre.

“Why were you so weird and evasive when I tried to talk to you about Dad?” she says. “It really confused and hurt me, Roy. I needed you to be there for me and….you let me down. I was completely devastated and it was like you didn’t even care. What Dad did nearly tore my family apart. Don’t you get that? I mean, you’re supposed to be my partner, my emotional support in times of crisis. And now I feel like….I don’t know. Like I can’t rely on you. I just feel like...you’re not the person I thought you were.”

i tried to keep the features ea gave them and the overall maxis match look. i hope they're still recognizable.

i'm undecided about whether matthew should only have stubble or a full on beard.

devin ended up with such a cute baby face lol maybe i softened his features too much. according to sims wiki he's supposed to be based on ashton kutcher but he's giving justin bieber debut era. idk if i should butch him up a little. he's the bridgeport twunk!

i was intrigued by devin's bio which states he wants to become an actor, and he has an obsession with A-list movie star matthew hamming. this is interesting to explore: does devin want to be with matthew, or does he want to be matthew? i sense some inner turmoil/identity crisis brewing beneath his pretty surface...

i'm here for the devin ashton x matthew hamming dark gay psychological romance thriller about fame and the entertainment world, set in the glamorous & gritty city of bridgeport......
