#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol

I was imagining like a swirly night sky sort of looking thing so it would be a surreal contrast of a night #sky with a window in the middle that shows a daytime sky - but the silver and purple wax kind of mixed too much together #with the black and it just looks very plain black and not all that starry or anything hjbhj.. Of course the eye is probably my favorite #since all I ever do is draw eyes and still like eye imagery for some reason. The four leaf clover is very lumpy and skrunkty but also it wa #the smallest in size out of all of them so was easier to do multiple stamps of just to try it out.#The heart with eyes wax is actually more swirly in person. I wanted it to be a mix of light pink and red and white. and the wax #did kind of all blend together but in person you can definitely see MORE of the intentional swirlyness. in this it just looks plain pink.#I was going to do one eye in the heart but it looked weird. but now two seems too plain. i could have done 3?? in a pattern.. hmm #alas. I wish I could make actual metal ones. With the clay i have to paint them in a thin layer of olive oil before stamping because #otherwise the wax just kind of gets stuck in the grooves of the clay and then you can't pull it up. Very wacky ''unprofessional'' looking #set up where I'm hot gluing circles of sculpey clay to short stumps of a wooden dowel that I sawed apart with a serrated bread knife #and then using an old paintbrush to put olive oil on them whilst holding a spoon over a yankee candle flame hjbjh #ANYWAY.. I think if I were middle class/rich/etc. this would be one of the main things in my crafting room is like.. SO many colors #of wax. and all different custom made stamps designed by me. which could be much more elaborate in actual metal.. muahaha.... >:)c #RHGghhh... I actually don't want to talk much about it since (this is probably just my Obsessed With My Own World Artist Delusions) I #think I have a really cool idea for a game that could genuinely be successful if i ever get to make it and I don't want to give #everything away and spoil the whole plot/concept in hopes that one day I can actually do it - BUT - a game that I'd like to make after the #visual novel I'm making now has partially to do with the main character working as a sort of writer/scribe/artist assistant in an elven #city (set in my world/with my worldbuilding species and versions of elves and etc) and I was thinking of maybe incorporating #somehow being able to collect little writing type items like these like.. you can get different wax seal patterns or pens or etc. when I do #stuff like this in Real Life it always makes me think of that like.. ouh... this is good research.. what it shall be like to be a littol #elf collecting wax seals and such.. indeed... GRR i need to be finished with my current game NOWWW... i MUST work on other #thingss... aughh... ANYWAY.. yay. accomplishment to do One Single Thing other than Sit In The Summer Heat And Rot #though also hilarious as this was the first cool-ish day that was below 80F in a while hgvh #waking up like 'wow.. i actually feel okay today?? like I could do things?? how mysterious.. Death - Transformation, a beginning. For a new door to open an old one must be closed, relieve yourself of the past, and focus yourself on the future.

This took way to long to figure out, but it’s here! Huzzah! Absolutely loved doing this, the different techniques we all had to maneuver were awesome to try out. Love everything about this, especially it’s contrast to Mark’s.

Thank you to everyone who joined any of the streams to watch us make this, hope you had fun and apologies for us being a hint of a mess.

#my art stuff #digital art #baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #astarion #astarion ancunin #this is part of a series I like to call “I’m never settling on a singular detailed artstyle”#I have no consistency in drawing realistic people/characters other than my shapy cartoon style #but I truly don’t get enough opportunity to properly shade anything with art in that style-!!! it always looks weird to me-!!!!!#I think some rude lil worm in my brain is wriggling around telling me it’s a futile attempt at still doing realism #cus I’m one of those “gifted” artists that grew up promising his parents he’ll end up among the big names or whatever #constantly training to become better at art but with realism oil paintings as the goal #you know how it is 😔#I wanna shade my lil funky designs but they never feel good enough to really put energy into or whatever so I compromise with stuff -#- like this where I try to draw characters more accurately while still stylizing them and shading them however I feel like it #which is great and all but I should really learn to give my more relaxed and less perfectionist art a chance #I deserve to enjoy the process and the result without working myself dead #it’s so much easier and rewarding to copy cartoon styles - stylizing realism makes me too anxious of doing it “wrong”#at least cartoon styles give me a goal to reach or a reference to strive towards #man I really should just cut myself some slack altogether #either way - this man is a flustered mess and he’s embarrassed about being called adorable in public or something #being teased in an affectionate way about his sweeter side and stuff #don’t ask why he’s shirtless - anatomy is just a lot more fun for me to draw sometimes #tasteful nudity and all that is extremely gorgeous to me #i need to practice anatomy more cus I just kinda did some shit and went with it this time with a BIT of consideration for muscle structure

#like whenever i do “line art” its just a cleaned up sketch which i rlly like but i want to try to do clean lineart. or cleanish. cause #a lot of a my lineart ends up getting softened with a gouache or oil paint bruch in csp #but also this looks kinda meh rn. ill probably go in and thicken the lineart and thin it out in other places so it looks beter #or maybeill just paint over it like usual #also willows face looks wonky and it this was all one layer it would be much easier to fix lol #willow #oc #original character #wip #work in progress #art

I wonder what it’s like to be able to kick a habit quickly and easily. I had to do four different things in order to stop biting my nails and I still occasionally fuck up (only when I break a nail but still)

#thing 1 was probably the most effective. it was bad tasting nail polish #i applied it RELIGIOUSLY morning and night so that if it came off in the shower or through handwashing; it was going right back on #after the first week i would say the urge died down but i did keep going for 3 weeks total #thing 2 was making my nails look nice to keep me from wanting to pick at them #the bad tasting polish helped because it gave them a shine and meant they started to grow and repair because they weren’t being bitten #i also started using jojoba oil on my cuticles #i still do this. and i usually have my nails painted to protect them and keep them looking nice #thing 3 was chewing gum all the time because i figured if there’s something else in my mouth; i can’t bite my nails #i picked sugar free strawberry gum because it tastes nice and the flavour lasts a surprisingly long time #so i would fidget with the gum instead of fidgeting by biting my nails #i still occasionally do this #thing 4 was knitting or crocheting constantly to occupy my hands #i still do this. i’m literally looking around for things to make #i’m so envious of the people who can do it with just pure willpower. i am NOT built like that #show me a jagged fingernail and there’d better be a nail file extremely close by or i’m biting it off. STILL #i cracked my thumbnail earlier and had to drop everything i was doing and run downstairs to clip it #and people wonder why i don’t smoke or drink. BABE. if i start something i never stop #i’m going to try to give up impulse buying next year and i already know it’s going to be a bloodbath #i’m probably going to have to cancel my credit card and buy a nokia brick #or like move somewhere i can’t receive packages. tbh #personal

It's funny how long lasting base coat and top coat won't stop Essie polishes from chipping the next day, meanwhile I have to soak my nails with clips three(!) times total to be rid of all the Holo Taco polish, and can go for two whole weeks before the first tiny chips start to appear + seven days without base or top coat!

#it boggles my mind how different body chemistry affects which brands lasts #like my nail tech sibling prefers essie specifically cause it lasts long on them (for non gel polish)#also i removed my current manicure cause i get new polish soon that i wanna try #so got 3 days or so of trimming them down slightly shape them and also hydrate them #i managed to trim just enough to make me able to check heart rate again #but while still keeping them long and nice looking #if you told me half a year ago that id be physically able to have long nails id have called you crazy #i was mister ''would surgically remove all nails if given the option'' until this year #though to be fair it was because they were weak and hurt when they got too long #and therefore a sensory nightmare to my autistic ass #now that ive started using polish again for the first time in years AND #my years long work of strengthening my nails have bore fruit #suddenly i prefer having long nails #also it looks great on my hands frankly my hands are the one physical attribute im overly fond of lol #anyway i spent like 2 hours on this procedure and am currently resting my back oof #itching to paint them again but gotta stay strong..... tons of oil and then in 3 days new polish....#might just put some top coat on until then maybe for strengthenings sake #anyway this is me talking to myself mostly help got carried away #silvi talks
