Gold Plus: How to Mix and Match Gold Rings, Diamond Bangles, and Earrings Like a Pro
Jewelry is not just about adornment; it's a statement of style, personality, and elegance. Whether you’re preparing for a special event or simply looking to enhance your everyday look, the right combination of jewelry pieces can elevate your entire outfit. When it comes to premium jewelry, pieces like gold rings, diamond bangles, and diamond earrings are often the first choices for many fashion-forward individuals. The ability to mix and match these luxurious items without overdoing it requires skill and an understanding of how to balance these stunning pieces. In this article, we’ll explore how to mix and match gold rings, bangles with diamonds, and diamond earrings like a pro, with expert insights from Gold Plus.
Start with a Statement Piece When building your jewelry collection, it’s essential to have one standout piece, and this piece will often set the tone for the rest of your accessories. At Gold Plus, a brand known for its premium jewelry, you’ll find that gold rings, diamond bangles, and diamond earrings can all function as statement pieces.
For instance, a bold gold ring can be the central focus of your outfit. Opt for a larger, intricately designed gold ring that draws attention, and let it be the highlight of your look. Once you have your statement piece, the other pieces should complement it without competing for attention.
If you choose a statement diamond bangle—perhaps one with unique detailing or a mix of gold and diamonds—you can match it with more subtle gold rings and diamond earrings that tie in with the bangle’s sparkle. The key is to ensure that the focus remains on the main piece, with the others serving as subtle enhancements.
Understand Balance and Proportions One of the most important principles when mixing and matching jewelry is maintaining balance. Overloading yourself with too many heavy or sparkly pieces can overwhelm your outfit. For example, if you choose a pair of dazzling diamond earrings, avoid pairing them with a chunky diamond bangle and an oversized gold ring. Instead, balance the sparkle by choosing one prominent piece and keeping the rest understated.
For an elegant look, try pairing delicate diamond earrings with a sleek gold ring. This combination is subtle yet sophisticated, perfect for both daytime and evening events. On the other hand, a bold diamond bangle can be balanced with simpler gold rings and small, stud-style diamond earrings.
If you're mixing different types of jewelry (e.g., gold rings with diamond bangles), make sure to match the weight and design. A chunky diamond bangle pairs well with a bold, statement gold ring, while dainty diamond earrings complement more delicate gold designs.
Play with Colors and Tones While gold rings and bangles with diamonds might share a similar metallic tone, there’s a difference between yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold. Similarly, the diamonds in your diamond earrings can have slightly different hues—some with warmer tones and others cooler. To master the art of mixing and matching, it’s important to understand how these tones complement each other.
Gold Plus offers a wide variety of gold jewelry, from classic yellow gold to trendy rose and white gold options. When pairing gold rings with diamond bangles and diamond earrings, consider the overall color harmony. For instance, if you're wearing a yellow gold ring, you might want to pair it with a diamond bangle that has gold accents to maintain consistency. White gold or platinum diamond earrings can work beautifully with either yellow or rose gold rings and bangles for an added contrast.
To bring the best out of your jewelry, try mixing metals subtly. A mix of yellow gold and rose gold with diamond earrings can create a modern yet luxurious look. For a timeless feel, you can opt for a set that features the same metal throughout.
Consider Your Outfit and Occasion The jewelry you wear should reflect the occasion and outfit you’re accessorizing with. When mixing gold rings, diamond bangles, and diamond earrings, it’s important to keep the outfit’s style in mind. For a formal or evening event, you may want to go all out with a combination of dazzling diamond earrings, a bold gold ring, and a statement bangle with diamonds. However, for a more relaxed or daytime look, it's best to keep the jewelry more understated.
For example, a casual outfit paired with understated diamond earrings and a simple gold ring can add elegance without being overpowering. On the other hand, if you're attending a wedding or gala, a combination of sparkling bangles with diamonds and bold diamond earrings paired with a stylish gold ring would create a sophisticated and high-impact look.
When mixing jewelry with your outfit, also consider your neckline and sleeves. A low-cut dress might pair better with drop diamond earrings, while a high-neck or turtleneck design might call for stud-style diamond earrings and a stack of gold rings to avoid competing with the neckline.
Mix Different Styles of Gold Rings, Bangles, and Earrings One of the most creative ways to mix and match jewelry is by combining different styles. For instance, pairing a vintage-style gold ring with modern diamond earrings or stacking multiple gold rings of varying designs can create a chic, layered look. The beauty of jewelry lies in experimenting with different styles while maintaining cohesion.
Gold Plus offers a variety of styles that make it easy to mix classic and contemporary elements. If you want a chic and timeless look, pair a classic gold ring with a modern diamond bangle and geometric diamond earrings. Alternatively, if you're looking for something more unique, mix an antique-style gold ring with delicate bangles with diamonds for a more personalized statement.
Layer and Stack for Added Drama Another trend that is gaining popularity is layering and stacking jewelry to create depth and drama. For example, stacking several gold rings can add a bold, stylish effect. Combine different textures, from smooth gold bands to those adorned with small diamonds, to achieve a look that’s uniquely your own.
Similarly, stacking diamond bangles can make a statement, especially if the bangles are designed in a variety of patterns and diamond cuts. Wearing multiple diamond earrings—like small studs on the lobe paired with drop earrings on the ear's cartilage—can also help create a trendy, eye-catching look.
Gold Plus offers various stacking options, allowing you to create your customized jewelry look. Experiment with different combinations and see what suits your personal style.
Maintain the Right Proportions When mixing and matching, always ensure that the proportions of your jewelry complement each other. For instance, if you’re wearing a pair of large diamond earrings, consider keeping your gold rings and bangles with diamonds simpler to maintain balance. Similarly, if you’re stacking multiple gold rings, avoid large diamond earrings to prevent the look from becoming too overwhelming.
Maintain a Cohesive Look Ultimately, the key to mixing and matching gold rings, bangles with diamonds, and diamond earrings lies in creating a cohesive look that feels balanced and thoughtful. You don’t need to overcomplicate your jewelry choices. A few carefully selected pieces from Gold Plus will help you achieve an elegant, refined look without looking too busy.
Conclusion Mixing and matching gold rings, diamond bangles, and diamond earrings can elevate your jewelry game and help you create personalized, stylish looks for every occasion. Whether you're wearing a classic ensemble or experimenting with bold combinations, Gold Plus offers a variety of beautiful pieces to suit every taste. By following these simple tips—balancing the proportions, understanding the colors, and considering the occasion—you can mix and match like a pro. So, step up your jewelry game and embrace the endless possibilities with Gold Plus.

Perfecting Pizza Dough: The Art and Science Behind the Perfect Crust
Tumblr media
There’s something magical about a perfectly crafted pizza crust. The way it crisps up on the edges, the soft chew in the middle, and the subtle flavor that serves as the foundation for all those delicious toppings. But let’s face it: not all pizza dough is created equal. What makes one crust light and airy, and another dense and tough? The secret lies in the delicate balance of art and science. Whether you’re aiming to impress friends with a homemade pizza night or dreaming of becoming a professional pizza chef, understanding how to perfect pizza dough is key to mastering the craft.
At Galaxy Training Institute, we believe that making the perfect pizza crust is more than just following a recipe. It’s about understanding the ingredients, learning the techniques, and having the patience to let the dough work its magic. In this blog, we’ll take a deep dive into the art and science behind creating the perfect pizza dough, offering insights on everything from choosing the right flour to nailing the fermentation process. Ready to up your pizza game? Let’s dive in.
1. Flour Power: The Foundation of Great Dough
When it comes to pizza dough, not all flour is created equal. The type of flour you use has a significant impact on the texture and structure of your crust. The most common flours used in pizza dough are all-purpose flour, bread flour, and 00 flour, each offering its own unique properties.
All-purpose flour: This flour is often used in home kitchens because it’s readily available. It has a moderate gluten content, which gives pizza dough some chewiness, but it won’t give you that classic pizzeria-quality crust.
Bread flour: With a higher gluten content, bread flour is ideal for those who want a chewier, sturdier crust. It allows the dough to stretch more easily, resulting in a crust that’s crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
00 flour: The holy grail for many pizza enthusiasts, 00 flour is finely milled and has a lower gluten content compared to bread flour. It’s often used for Neapolitan-style pizzas and produces a light, airy crust that cooks quickly in high-heat ovens.
Interestingly, a study published by the Journal of Food Engineering found that doughs made with 00 flour had a 10-15% higher expansion rate during baking, leading to a puffier crust. That’s why professional pizza chefs swear by it!
2. The Science of Gluten: Strength and Stretch
Once you’ve selected your flour, the next step is to understand how gluten works. Gluten is the protein in flour that provides elasticity to the dough, allowing it to stretch and trap air during fermentation. When water is added to flour and mixed, gluten proteins form bonds, giving the dough structure.
Kneading the dough: Kneading helps develop gluten, and the more you knead, the more the dough will become elastic and able to hold its shape. However, over-kneading can lead to a tough dough, so you need to find the right balance. Ideally, knead your dough for about 10-12 minutes until it’s smooth and slightly springy.
The windowpane test: Not sure if your dough is ready? Try the windowpane test. Take a small piece of dough and gently stretch it between your fingers. If you can stretch it thin enough that light can pass through without tearing, you’ve developed enough gluten.
Resting the dough: After kneading, it’s crucial to let the dough rest. This allows the gluten to relax and makes it easier to roll out the dough later. A common mistake is rushing this step, which leads to a dough that’s difficult to shape and more likely to shrink back.
3. Hydration: The Key to Texture
Hydration, or the amount of water relative to the amount of flour, plays a critical role in determining the texture of your crust. A higher hydration dough will result in a lighter, more open crumb structure (those beautiful air pockets in the crust), while a lower hydration dough produces a denser crust.
High-hydration dough: Generally, pizza dough hydration ranges from 55% to 70%, with higher hydration levels resulting in a crust that is airy and crispy. For example, Neapolitan pizza dough typically has around 60-65% hydration, giving it that pillowy texture.
Low-hydration dough: On the other hand, dough with lower hydration will have a tighter crumb and won’t rise as much. This style is often preferred for thin-crust pizzas, where a crunchier bite is desired.
4. Fermentation: The Secret to Flavor
Fermentation is where the real magic happens. It’s during this process that yeast converts the sugars in the dough into carbon dioxide and alcohol, which adds flavor and causes the dough to rise. But fermentation is more than just waiting for the dough to double in size—timing and temperature play crucial roles in developing flavor and texture.
Room temperature fermentation: Letting your dough rise at room temperature for 1-2 hours is the quickest way to ferment it. However, this short fermentation won’t give your dough as much flavor complexity.
Cold fermentation: For the best flavor, many pizza experts recommend cold fermentation, where the dough is allowed to rise slowly in the refrigerator for 24 to 72 hours. This slower rise gives the yeast more time to develop flavor, resulting in a crust that’s more flavorful and easier to digest.
In fact, research conducted by the American Institute of Baking found that doughs fermented for longer periods at cooler temperatures had up to 30% more developed flavor compounds, which is why many pizzerias use this technique for their signature crusts.
5. Shaping and Stretching: Technique Matters
Once your dough has fermented, it’s time to shape it. While it might be tempting to roll out your dough with a rolling pin, this can deflate the air pockets that formed during fermentation, resulting in a denser crust.
Hand stretching: The best way to shape pizza dough is by hand-stretching. Start by pressing the dough into a small circle, then lift it by the edges and gently stretch it outwards, rotating it as you go. This method preserves the air bubbles in the dough and gives you that perfect balance of crispy and chewy.
Don’t overdo it: Be careful not to overwork the dough at this stage. Over-stretching or aggressively handling the dough can cause it to tear or lose its elasticity, leading to a subpar crust.
6. Baking: Heat is Your Best Friend
Pizza dough needs a high-temperature environment to achieve that crispy, bubbly texture we all love. Professional pizza ovens can reach temperatures upwards of 900°F (480°C), which helps the crust cook quickly and evenly. However, if you’re working with a home oven, you can still achieve great results.
Preheating the oven: Always preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go (typically around 500°F or 260°C) for at least 30 minutes before baking. A pizza stone or steel can also help mimic the heat of a professional oven by creating an intense, even heat source from below the dough.
Bake time: Depending on your dough’s thickness and hydration level, pizza typically bakes in 8-12 minutes at high temperatures. Keep an eye on it—once the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling, it’s ready.
7. Mastering the Art of Pizza Dough at Galaxy Training Institute
At Galaxy Training Institute, we believe that mastering pizza dough is both an art and a science. Our specialized training programs focus on teaching you the essential techniques needed to perfect the dough, from understanding hydration and fermentation to shaping and baking.
Learning the science behind the ingredients and processes gives you control over every step, allowing you to craft a dough that’s not only delicious but also consistent every time. Whether you’re looking to work in a pizzeria, open your own restaurant, or simply elevate your home cooking, perfecting pizza dough is a skill that will serve you well in the hospitality industry.
Final Thoughts
Creating the perfect pizza dough requires a blend of knowledge, skill, and practice. By understanding the role of ingredients like flour and water, mastering the fermentation process, and using the right techniques for stretching and baking, you can consistently craft a crust that’s crispy, chewy, and full of flavor. At Galaxy Training Institute, we’re here to help you master these skills, turning you into a pizza-making pro.

Navigating men's jewellery, especially silver rings for men, can be an adventure fraught with uncertainty. Unlike watches, which have no shortage of style guides and rule books, understanding the etiquette of wearing rings can feel like you're on your own. Traditional norms are floating around, but in the end, it's all about making your own style statement.
The struggle is real when it comes to how you should incorporate silver rings into your fit without looking like you're trying too hard or falling flat. And do you know the good news? We’re about to solve that for you. It’s all about mastering the art of balancing your rings with other accessories, selecting the right bling for different occasions, and knowing the meaning behind each finger's placement.
Are you ready to level up your look? We’re here to spill the tea on seven ways to rock those silver rings for men with flair and confidence. So, buckle up and get ready to shine—your personal style is about to get a serious upgrade! Let’s set sail!
Hand Selection: Making a Statement
When deciding which hand to style with a ring, keep the traditional rules versus personal expression in mind. While cultural customs might tell you where to rock a wedding ring, other rings offer you the freedom to express yourself however you want. Picking the right hand for rings can make you the center of attention, highlighting your confidence and assertiveness. On the other hand (pun intended), the left hand channels your character and belief, offering a nod to your inner world. Going all in? Wear rings on both hands for an instant, stylish boost!
For your right hand, it's all about that bold, eye-catching bling. This 9 Matrix Men's Art Deco Ring is a fashion-forward piece with a modern spin on design. It's decked out with 9 AAA-grade Cubic Zirconias that give it a luxurious, special touch. This kind of ring shouts confidence and assertiveness, making your right hand the perfect spot to wear it and show off your knack for the dramatic.
When it comes to your left hand, this Revolving Chant Men's Ring is where it's at! It's the ultimate blend of style and mindfulness, featuring a rotating center piece with a yellow-gold finish and the sacred chant "Om Mani Padme Hum" elegantly engraved on a delicate flower. This powerful mantra can help you find your inner calm and focus, resonating with your spiritual side. Plus, it's a trendy accessory that adds a unique twist to your fashion game.
Finger Placement: Symbolism and Style
Each finger tells its own story, offering a unique way to express different facets of your personality and style. The index finger, traditionally linked to status and authority, is perfect for statement rings. Enter this North Star Men's Ring, your cosmic ticket to out-of-this-world style. This oxidized silver ring with a golden star is as bold as it gets, embodying inspiration and hope. When you wear the North Star Ring on your index finger, you're channeling its timeless power and making a stylish, audacious statement.
Now, let's talk about the little finger, aka the pinky. This finger is all about confidence and boldness, making it the perfect spot for a fashion statement ring. This Charming 3 Layered Men's CZ Ring is your ticket to turning heads and winning hearts. This glamorous piece boasts three tiers of stone-studded sparkle, creating an eye-catching party of zirconia stones. The pinky is the go-to finger for this level of fabulousness, as it perfectly complements the ring's bold and bright design.
Minimalism vs. Boldness: Finding Balance
Whether you're stacking up your bling or keeping it minimal, finding the right balance is where it's at. The middle finger may not be the most mainstream choice, but it's the perfect playground for bold, unique rings. Try this Eternally Regal Men's CZ Ring, a classic piece that adds sophistication to even the most laid-back outfit. It's the go-to for a guy who knows that looking sharp isn't self-obsessed—it's self-respect. Pop this on your middle finger, and you're ready to take on the world with style.
Unbelievable but true, your thumb is the ultimate stage for your showstopper rings—think big, think bold, think confident. For all you sports fans out there, this Football Lovers Dream Ring for Men is a must-have. Set with AAA-grade Cubic Zirconias, this ring is both stylish and cool. This ring isn't just another piece of memorabilia—it’s a brilliant, artistic take on the sport. So, what's holding you back? Whether you go for a handful of rings or just the one, let your thumbs and fingers do the talking and score big in the style game!
Choosing the Perfect Fit: Proportion and Comfort
Choosing the right ring means mixing style with comfort, so keep it snug but never too tight. You want to look fresh and fabulous without cutting off circulation, right? Check out a ring size guide to lock down the perfect fit for your hand—no slipping, no squeezing, just pure comfort. Keep in mind that men's ring sizes aren't the same as women's, so there are differences in thickness and width to cater to everyone's unique requirement. Get the right dimensions, and you’re good to sport your ring game in style!
Occasion and Style: Adapting Your Look
From casual chilling to formal big-wig moments, the right ring will ring only right when it grabs the appropriate energy that fits the scene. Mix it up with different metals and intricate designs to keep your style versatile and fresh.
For a casual, laid-back look, keep it cool with something like this Twisted Floating Men's Ring. The solitaire stone here is suspended between two delicate, twisted bands giving that modern twist and letting everyone know that you have got the edge.
When it’s time to turn up the heat in the boardroom, make a bold move with this Edgy Elegance Men's Engagement Ring. For the guy who lives by the motto 'Go big or go home,' this two-toned cubic zirconia ring is the ultimate in chunky sophistication. With its seamless blend of style and power, it’s ready to fit any finger (except the traditional ring one) and make a statement every day.
Mix up your rings and own any occasion like the boss you are!
Personalized Touch: Cultural and Symbolic Significance
Infusing your ring selection with cultural or religious motifs takes your style story up a notch. It's all about adding depth and meaning to your look. Customize your look with options like monogrammed or family crest rings to bring in personal symbols and heritage that matter to you. You can also wear specific symbols from the religion that you practice that portrays your faith and belief system.
Take it a step further with zodiac-inspired designs for a modern twist on ancient beliefs. Flaunt your astrological identity with pride and style. Whether you're a fiery Aries or a chill Pisces, there's a ring that reflects your cosmic vibes. Let your sign guide your ring game, and let your fingers do the talking with celestial style. Alternatively, we also practice wearing specific birthstone rings or semi-precious stone rings like sapphire, ruby or pearl that each have their own significance in steering our fate.
Harmonizing Accessories: Layering with Finesse
Creating a cohesive ensemble means syncing your rings with other accessories like bracelets and watches for a fresh, put-together look. You want balance—mix metals and avoid any colour or style clashes. Whether you're layering rings with bracelets or matching them with a watch, aim for a unified aesthetic to level up your overall look with some serious finesse.
Pairing this oxidized silver North Star Men's Ring with this oxidized silver Greek Key Box Bracelet is a match made in heaven. Both share the same sleek finish, which ties your look together and gives you a consistent, effortlessly cool style. For formal affairs, bold, Art Deco-inspired patterns make a striking statement. When selecting your dress, consider how different geometric shapes can complement your body type.
Circular patterns can soften angles, while angular beading can add structure and definition.
Always try on a variety of styles to see how the light catches different patterns, and don't hesitate to mix traditional and modern elements to suit your unique taste.
Customization and Alterations
Customization and alterations offer the opportunity to create a truly personalized bridal look.
Adding custom geometric beading to a simpler gown can transform it into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Work with designers or tailors who specialize in beadwork to explore possibilities—from altering the pattern's scale to changing bead colors for a subtle or dramatic effect.
Skilled professionals can ensure alterations enhance the gown's fit without compromising the integrity of the design, ensuring every bead and pattern aligns with the bride's vision.
Caring for Your Geometric Beaded Dress
Caring for a geometric beaded dress requires gentle handling and attention to detail.
Before the wedding, store the dress in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent bead discoloration.
Professional cleaning by experts familiar with handling delicate beaded garments is crucial to maintaining the dress's beauty.
After the wedding, consider professional preservation to keep the gown in pristine condition, ensuring it remains a cherished keepsake for years to come.

Choosing Your Perfect Embellished Clutch: Tips and Tricks
Selecting the right embellished clutch is an art in itself. Consider the occasion, your personal style, and the materials used in the clutch. For formal events, opt for clutches with crystals or metallic embellishments. If you're going for a more casual look, a beaded or sequined clutch can add a touch of glamour without overpowering your outfit. Remember to think about size too – a smaller clutch is perfect for a night out, while a slightly larger one can hold your essentials for a formal affair. Don't be afraid to experiment with colors and textures to find the one that resonates with your style.
Embellished Clutches: The Ultimate Conversation Starter
One of the remarkable features of Embellished Clutches is their ability to spark conversations. A classic little black dress or a sleek pantsuit can be the perfect canvas to showcase your clutch. When it comes to jewelry, keep it simple to avoid overwhelming your overall look. A pair of statement earrings or a delicate necklace can complement the clutch beautifully. Remember, less is often more when you're working with such a dazzling accessory.
DIY Embellished Clutches: Unleash Your Inner Designer
Feeling crafty? Why not try your hand at creating your embellished clutch? You can purchase a plain clutch and customize it to your heart's content. The Art of Inversion
Neil x Reader
Chapter 3 - Too Close for Comfort
Previous Chapters: Chapter 1, Chapter 2
Summary: Your training at Tenet is going perfectly well until it’s thrown off balance with the arrival of Neil, who brings chaos and surprising news...
Warnings: Swearing.
Author’s Notes: So once again this very long, for which I’m sorry. Please let me know what you think! Thanks for the inspiration to my friends, as always! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The first few weeks of your training went by in a mad blur. After day two you realised that to avoid spending ages in the car you had to move into the Tenet building. There you had a cosy room with a bed, desk, a bathroom and relative peace. That is if the more extraverted agents were not partying in the mess hall or the common room. You usually spent the evenings alone, not having the energy or motivation to socialise. Sometimes you also felt as though others perceived you differently for reasons unknown.
Maybe because you have been recruited by one of Tenet’s top agents personally?
Your days have been spent either learning about physics and the theoretical side of the inversion or in the sparring hall, trying to dodge inverted punches and kicks. While all the talk of entropy and nuclear fission usually made your head hurt, it was the hand in hand combat that was the bane of your training. Having absolutely no prior experience in various fighting styles, you often got beat up by the fellow recruits. You certainly preferred guns to fists.
Neil has been gone for weeks as well. You knew that most likely the details of the mission were entirely classified so you never asked. But you sometimes did wonder if he would ever show up again. You had to admit that you did hope so. It would be a shame to never see Anna beam like that again.
This day started like any other in that regard. You woke up and got ready for the first class – geography of Tenet, so lessons covered all the different branches with the turnstiles and how to get from one to another when inverted. After that it was the classic combat. You took your position and acknowledged the partner for the hour – a boring guy named Jack who would sometimes hit on you. And today was not going to be different…
“Hello love” he grinned way too widely
“Hi” you answered back dispassionately, praying for the class to start
“You’re looking good today” Jack smirked, trying to look flirtatious and you rolled your eyes.
Pairs all around you were beginning their training and you wanted to cut the small talk short as soon as possible.
“Please, can we get on with this? I really don’t have time” Jack pouted but complied.
Soon you have begun the session. At first, you managed to block his punches and kicks really well, even hit him a few times when he seemed too busy staring at you to react. But then as the pace picked up, you lost the rhythm. Soon you were breathing hard and your body was aching. While Jack wasn’t pulling any punches, he quickly got worried, seeing you pant and wince. He took a step back and asked:
“Everything alright with you?”
“Yeah, just need a breather” you smiled apologetically.
Suddenly, just as you looked up at the front of the hall where the teachers were stood, a dirty blonde head caught your eye.
It can’t be… you scrunched your neck to see better above the students and your eyes met the unmistakable blue gaze. Neil was staring right at you through the crowd.
Shit. Before you could let your thoughts run away too far, Jack began the training again. Without a warning, he aimed a punch towards your shoulder and you barely blocked it. You were desperately trying to focus on the sparring, but the curious mind kept returning to Neil. You ignored it for a while, but then you looked up again. The blue eyes were on you for all that time. That was also the moment when Jack aimed a punch at your jaw, certain you will be there to block it. You were not.
Next thing you knew you were lying on the floorboards, with a throbbing pain in your jaw and Jack staring at you in shock.
“I…I’m sorry! I thought you’d be ready…” he stuttered and held out a hand to help you get up.
Fuck!, you swore and grudgingly accepted the help. But as soon as you were back standing, you had to run. You couldn’t risk meeting Neil right now. And you were pretty damn sure he saw the whole thing happen. Looking at Jack, you breathed out:
“Sorry, I’ve got to go” and quickly pushed through the crowd to the side exit, praying that you will not be followed.
You got lucky and made a hasty escape to your room where you could finally let your emotions loose. Which in this case meant punching the desk and letting out a stream of favourite swear words. Once that was done you sat down on the bed and covered your face with your hands. You hated embarrassing yourself like that in front of people. Let alone people like Neil.
Finally, after wallowing in self-pity for ten minutes, you got up to shower and change. But you only made it as far as touching the bathroom door handle when you heard a knock.  Somehow you knew who it was and hastily smoothed down your hair before opening the door. Neil stood there, with that sickening grin and tousled hair.
“How did you know which room is mine?” you asked while eyeing him up through the crack in the door.
“Hello to you too” he smirked “Anna told me where to find you”
“Of course” you muttered and opened the door wider to let him in.
“What was that?” he watched you with that sly smile, as though excited about the prospect of annoying you.
“Nothing” you sat on the bed and watched as he took the time to look around your small room.
You noticed that he had ditched the suit jacket and had his sleeves rolled up. The exposed forearms were covered in a few fading bruises and cuts. You stared at them a bit too long and quickly looked down at your lap, desperately trying to find something to say. Normally you liked silence, but in this case it made your thoughts wonder way too much.
“So you’re back then?” you asked, cringing at how stupid that sounded.
Neil sat down on the desk chair opposite you and nodded.
“Yeah, for now the world ending has been averted” he joked lightly, and you smiled, suddenly aware that you have missed him.
He searched your face for a short while before asking:
“I take it you don’t like combat sessions?”
“What gave you such an impression?”
“Well that was an impressive knock-out” he winked, and you groaned, causing him to laugh.
“Was hoping you’ve somehow missed it” you admitted while looking away at the wall.
His intense stare was starting to make you feel self-conscious. After all those weeks of not seeing him you have forgotten what it was like. Sometimes you even thought that maybe Neil was just a figment of your imagination. But he was most certainly real. And right now was still looking at you, searching for something. He found it when he suddenly got up and kneeled right in front of you. You stared wide-eyed as he reached out and touched a sore spot on your jaw, making you flinch.
“Sorry” he apologised “Is this where you got hit today?” gently he traced the bruise that was beginning to form.
“Think so” your voice came out huskier than you expected.
“There’s a small cut” only now you felt the sting “You should get that cleaned up” he noticed and met your gaze steadily.
You realised with a surprise that he was looking at you with worry. He was close. Way too close. You felt the rush of adrenaline and jumped up, nearly knocking him on the head in the process.
“I’m fine” you mumbled “I’ll check it now” you moved towards the bathroom.
But once again it was not meant to be. Neil placed his hands on your arms and pulled you down to sit on the bed.
“We’ve done this before” he glared at you “And I’m not taking ‘fine’ for an answer this time” you could just stare “Now, where do you have the first aid kit?”
“Shelf behind the mirror” you watched as he went to the bathroom and covered your face with your hands.
You always hated being the centre of attention. Being cared after like this. Because it meant that you were not strong enough in the first place. It was easier to just be entirely self-dependent, to never ask for help. And now Neil has seen your weakness twice. It was too much. Just as you have begun to consider bolting away, he emerged, armed with gauze and glass filled with water. He set them down on the bedside table and turned towards you. He must have noticed your struggle because he frowned and took a long look at you before asking:
“Is everything alright?”
You forced yourself to meet his gaze and nodded.
“Because you don’t look alright right now”
“Thanks, you know how to compliment a girl” you joked dryly, trying to stop the line of uncomfortable questioning.
It worked as Neil burst out laughing and looked at you incredulously. The downside was that you could no longer run away. So you accepted his beckoning to come closer and lifted your head to give him better access to the cut. He soaked the gauze in water and carefully cleaned the wound, all the while perfectly focused on the task. Although you could not see him you imagined the look of concentration on his face. Once the cut has been disinfected, he covered it with a small band-aid and gave you a quick once-over. You lowered your head and watched him out of the corner of your eye. After he was done with the inspection, his hand was still gently touching your jaw, with thumb caressing your neck just below the ear. You stared at him with lips parted in shock, wondering if he was aware of the movement. You shifted slightly and that broke him out of the reverie. His eyes met yours, and he smiled softly, not stopping the delicate caress. Now that you knew he was aware of his actions you felt your face heat up. To try and break the tense silence, you decided to speak up:
“Thank you for this…” your voice was incredibly hoarse.
“Of course” he smiled wider “Couldn’t have you walking around bleeding”
His hand had stopped the movement but was still placed on your neck. You could not process how close he was. Your brain kept reminding you how you did not really know him. How it can go wrong. The urge to run away was back, possibly at the worst moment. You quickly turned your head away. Neil looked at you with surprise but before either of you could say anything, a knock echoed in the room. You turned to Neil:
“You expecting anyone?” he asked.
“Certainly not” you frowned and went to open the door cautiously.
On the other side there was a tall man of a soldierly posture with a buzz cut and a pleasant looking face. You looked at him quizzically, but he was staring right past you:
“Anna told me I’d find you here” he addressed Neil, who came up to stand next to you.
The two men then had a rather peculiar silent exchange which started with the soldier smirking while looking at you, and Neil responding with a small shake of the head and a grin. You had enough of that.
“Sorry, but who are you?” you asked, while staring at them both.
“Apologies, ma’am” the newcomer grinned at you “I’m Ives” he extended a hand and you shook it.
“Ives is leader of our squad unit” Neil explained, and you nodded.
“I’m…” you opened your mouth to introduce yourself but got cut off by Ives.
“Oh I know who you are” you stared at him confusedly “Neil told me about you” that knowing grin again.
You noticed with a surprise that Neil looked somewhat flustered. But he composed himself quick enough for you to dismiss that idea. He cleared his throat and asked:
“Anyways, what brings you here Ives?”
“TP wanted me to discuss something with you” your ears perked up at the mention of the Protagonist, the mysterious founder of Tenet “And there will be a small gathering later in the common room with all the squad so thought you might want to join” Ives smiled at you “Both of you”.
Neil looked at you expectantly and you nodded:
“Sure, I’ve got nothing better to do”
“You won’t regret it” Ives grinned “Mate can we talk in private?” he turned to Neil.
“Yeah, I’ll meet you in the briefing room in ten” they shared one last cryptic look and Neil closed the door.
You stared at him, still unable to forget the way he looked at you mere minutes ago. And the moment you have shared. But now the spell has been broken, and you did not know what to say. Luckily Neil seemed to be doing fine as he threw you the signature soft smile:
“Sorry about that. Ives is a pretty straightforward guy” he explained, and you laughed, feeling the tension dissolve.
“I can see that” you held his gaze a little longer before adding “You should go discuss the classified stuff with him. Might be something important”
Neil looked hesitant. Finally, he must have made up his mind because he reached out to squeeze your hand. A familiar gesture by now.
“Shall I pick you up later for the party?” he asked.
“Sure” you smiled “Though calling it a party makes me regret the decision to participate” you admired the grin he sent you.
“No need for that, you’ll do great” he winked and without further word left your room.
Now finally you could panic in peace.
***
After stressing for a solid hour about what to wear, you decided to just put on the comfiest t-shirt and jeans. Most agents and recruits rarely dressed up anyway. Apart from Neil, naturally, but you had a feeling he was an exception in most things. Once you got ready, you sat at the desk, trying to finish the assignments for the classes. That was a very bad idea since your brain was mostly busy panicking about the party and analysing what happened before Ives came. When that desired (and feared) knock sounded in the room, you rushed to open it. You were almost happy Neil has not changed into an expensive suit.
“Ready?” he smiled, and you automatically beamed back.
Have I become like Anna already?, you cringed at your reaction. But there was no time to marinate in shame as Neil practically pulled you out of the room without waiting for confirmation. You stared at him, surprised as the door to your room slammed shut.
“Are we that late?”
He just grinned and started walking down the corridor. You shook your head amused before jogging to catch up. When you both entered the common room you first noticed that they have reorganised the space by moving the couches around. Now they formed a large circle in the middle of which there was a table set with beer and wine bottles. There was also music playing from the speakers. And there were at least ten people in the room. At that observation you swallowed hard. You were never good with meeting new people and the idea itself made you anxious. But looking at Neil marching in confidently and shaking hands with everyone you realised that you might have to overcome the fear. The moment you stepped through the threshold all eyes were on you.
Bloody hell, you pasted a small smile on your lips and looked at all the faces. But before you were forced to introduce yourself, Ives did it for you:
“This is our new recruit, Y/N” everyone smiled at you “She’s friends with Neil, so we’ll probably see more of her” he added, and you felt your cheeks heat up.
You looked at Neil and once again would swear he looked slightly uncomfortable. But before you could think about it more you got swept into the circle by Ives and tried to remember names of everyone introduced to you. After the initial small talk, you sat down with a glass of wine, hoping to be able to just listen to others talk and fade into the background. But it wasn’t meant to be…
“So how do you like the training?” a woman asked, that you believed was called Wheeler.
She was looking at you with a pleasant smile which gave you the needed courage.
“It’s not too bad. The whole physics side of it makes my head hurt sometimes but then it’s all so fascinating” you saw a few understanding smiles and nods.
“Well I can help you with the physics if you ever need it” Neil spoke up suddenly and you looked at him across the table.
He has been weirdly quiet since you came in but was evidently listening to the conversation. He was looking at you with a small smile which you mirrored as a way of thanks. You were very aware of the company.
“But yeah I don’t mind the training” you tried to finish the thought “It’s very different from the stuff I did at university and that’s refreshing” you grinned.
“Heard you don’t like the combat training” Ives smirked, and you glared at him.
So everyone knows now…, you groaned mentally.
“What’s the basis for this assumption?” you didn’t want to give up your dignity without a fight.
With satisfaction, you noted the surprised grin he responded with.
“Got my sources” he shrugged “And that bruise on your jaw is a pretty good clue too”
“What can I say, you got me there” you put up your hands in surrender and he laughed.
“No shame in that though, love” your eyes widened at the nickname “I’m sure you’ll get better at it with time” he winked, and your eyes got even wider.
At that point someone luckily started another topic that you were not familiar with so you could focus on dealing with what just happened. You felt someone stare at you intently and looked up to see the well-known blue eyes boring into your face. His expression was somewhat sombre, and you briefly wondered if he could be jealous. You shook your head at the ridiculousness of the thought and took a large sip of wine. Neil was still looking at you and only stopped when he got asked about a recent mission. You listened curiously:
“Well it was nothing out of the ordinary. Inverted weapons dealer, murky transactions and a proper gunfight in the parking lot” he shrugged, and you wondered if that’s what the future holds for you.
“Any fuck ups this time?”
“Just a small… misunderstanding” Neil raised his arms to show the bruised forearms and the others laughed.
Then the conversation shifted towards more mundane things and you were happy to just listen. You have been pleasantly surprised by the camaraderie you noticed between the squad members and Neil. You have been asked a few questions about your past which were a nice change to the anonymity you got used to during the training. Sometimes you would look at Neil, giving in to curiosity. He was either listening to the conversation or joking with the rest, making use of the infinite charm he seemed to possess. You were not surprised to see that everyone seemed to like him. After a while you lost the sense of time and were pretty sure you had enough wine to regret it in the morning. So when someone mentioned that it is past 1am you groaned out loud and got up. The world swayed before your eyes and you waited another moment to adjust before speaking:
“Sorry I need to go now or else won’t survive the shooting training tomorrow” you smiled apologetically.
“Good luck with that!” Ives sent you another cheeky grin and you laughed.
“Thanks, will be needed” with that you moved towards the exit, waving goodbye.
You started walking down the corridor when you felt a hand touch your arm unexpectedly. You jumped up at the contact.
“Didn’t mean to startle you” Neil smiled, and you glared at him.
“Then maybe you shouldn’t creep up on me” you both continued down the hallway “Why did you leave the party?” “I’m quite tired” you glanced at him surprised “And because I have something important to tell you”
You stopped in front of your door and you leaned on the wall.
“The Protagonist wants to meet you” your eyes widened “That’s what me and Ives talked about before. He said that TP is interested in you and wants us to come to the HQ’s as soon as we can”
You stared at him in shock. It didn’t make any sense.
“Why?”
“No idea” he shrugged, and you were shocked to see him clueless “But I’ll go with you and I want us to get the plane on Friday after your training”
“That’s the day after tomorrow” you frowned, thinking about everything you would need to do before boarding on a plane to the US.
“I know. But from my experience I can tell you that if TP says something, it’s best to listen to him” he added, startling you with the serious tone.
He must have noticed how scared that made you because he reached out to touch your shoulder and gave it a gentle rub.
“Don’t worry about it for now though. I’ll arrange everything for the travel and will come by tomorrow afternoon with details” he let his hand fall to his side and you instantly missed the touch.
You raked through your head for something to say.
“So you’re not disappearing this time?” you asked finally, letting yourself eye him suspiciously.
“Certainly not” he grinned and watched as you opened the door to the room. When you got in, he added:
“But it’s good to know you’ve missed me” the playful sparks made you want to punch him in the teeth.
Instead, you just rolled your eyes pointedly, way too tired.
“G’night, Neil” you muttered and started closing the door.
“Sweet dreams” he whispered and disappeared into the darkness of the corridor.
You covered your head with your hands. This is very inconvenient, you thought while wondering how you got yourself into this situation.

Fairy Lights
Hewwo @damagecontroldumortain happy (late) valentine’s day! I’m sorry it took so long, but here’s your @loveinwayhaven gift ♥ hope you like it!
The Wayhaven Chronicles Adam/Janey (F!Detective) Words: 2600 Rating: G Tags: Fluff, lots of fluff; Valentine’s day Read on AO3
On second thought, maybe she was the one delivering spring to that place.
**
It took them a little over one hour to arrive at the botanical garden just outside Wayhaven, although Detective Kingston insisted that they could have done it in less time, if it was not for Adam’s careful driving. Of course, he was very confident in his own skills, but it was the reckless attitudes of humans on the road that could endanger this trip—mission. That could endanger this mission.
“You know that I’m going to drive on the way back, right?” Janey joked as soon as they parked by the gates of the garden, where vines intertwined along the fences, chipping the white paint to expose the coppery colour of the metal underneath.
“I am far more qualified to drive. I have better reflexes, sight and training.” His tone was as stiff as his muscles, button-down shirt marking every line of his chest as he turned off the Agency’s SUV. “And besides, a vehicle this size is too big for you. You wouldn’t reach the pedals.”
“How dare—”
“Let’s get going.” A hint of a smile formed on his lips as he pushed his aviators up the curve of his nose and got out of the car. Was fast enough to walk around it and open the door for the woman, offering a hand for support as she jumped out of it. “Mind your step,” he mumbled, but her attention was already focused on the garden ahead.
Despite the ancient appearance of its entrance, the place itself was impeccable. A path of cobblestone, with no signs of moss, guided the guests among thousands of trees, contouring an icy lake in the middle of the park. The woods, dark and imposing, also had trails of its own, winding through in irregular shapes. In a bright late afternoon such as this one, the scene was idyllic. The sun leaked through the canopies, trying to deliver life to the garden, but meeting the silent landscape of dormant bushes and leafless trunks covered in glittering snow instead. Only the pine trees tried their best to add some colour with strokes of dark green reaching the clear blue sky.
Must have been a gift for the garden to welcome the deep red of Janey’s hair among them. Adam noticed, as she led the way in front of him, how contrasting she was to the scenery, bursting with life and colour. Even the soft breeze that danced around them and waved her locks seemed to agree that whatever beauty nature had was no match for her.
“Alright,” Janey clapped her hands while turning on her heels to face the Agent, pulling him back from his thoughts in a startle. “What are we looking for, exactly? What do we need for this mission?”
Ah, yes, the mission. It was more like a simple task, really. Recently, a lesser kingdom of fairies took residence in Wayhaven, attracted by the Detective’s powerful presence, but even a small town like that could overwhelm such tiny creatures, and so the Agency needed to find another place for them.
“The Firefly Fairies will need a place safe from humans,” Adam stated, wrapping his coat around his torso and crossing his arms. “But it must also be a place safe from this weather. Perhaps somewhere distant from the pathway.”
She agreed with a simple nod, and in no time they were walking side by side into the woods. If it was just her body heat or something else, Adam could not tell, but the cold was not so harsh next to her. Maybe this was the reason for the fairy kingdom being drawn to her in the first place; she felt comfortable and welcoming to everyone with her charm and friendly personality. It was impossible to not let yourself be engulfed by someone like her, and Adam wasn’t the only one who felt like that… Right?
“I must apologise, Detective.” He broke the silence between them after a few minutes, not because it made him uneasy, but quite the opposite. Janey aimed a puzzled look at him, waiting for him to proceed. “Surely I impeded other plans you must have had for today.”
“What do you mean?”
“It is Valentine’s Day, is it not?” The words almost got stuck in the back of his throat, suddenly dry. “I believe many consider this to be a special date.”
“Oh.” The sound escaped from her lips, and Adam couldn’t help but to look at her for just a moment. Her heart was beating a little faster, which explained the rosy colour forming on her cheeks—delicate and unexpected, but not slightly fragile. “Don’t worry, I didn’t have any plans.”
“Hard to believe—”
“And even if I had,” she bursted, shoving her hands inside the pockets of her jacket. Their gaze met for such a brief moment that he thought he imagined it when those light brown eyes faced the path ahead once more. “I would rather spend the afternoon with you, anyway.”
He came to a halt, as if the words had taken him off balance. The idea of inviting her to spend a couple hours with him, not for a mission but for leisure, was not new, and crossed his mind multiple times (it was, what, the third time that week?), but the implications that Janey might actually have accepted if he asked sent a wave of electricity down this chest. Could it be that she also noticed the date on the calendar and agreed to come along in this foolish mission because of him?
True that her presence was everything Adam had in mind when preparing for it. He was hoping that she would accompany him to this botanical garden, under the excuse that she, as a Wayhaven citizen, had been there before and could guide them better. But he was an agent and had a job to do. No matter how much she instilled wonderful and alarming new sensations in him, he should focus on the task ahead.
“How about this place?” Janey was a few meters away, and Adam didn’t have to force his feet to reach her. She was pointing at a lonely oak tree, large enough to accommodate a house for humans. A kingdom of fairies would fit there just as well, except…
“This tree is in a clearing,” he said, resting his hands on his hips and taking a look around the place. “They would prefer a denser area, with more flowers.”
“What about that one?”
Adam’s gaze followed where she was pointing, taking its time to also notice that she was not wearing any gloves. Felt an urge to hold her hands, take them closer to his lips and blow gently a warm breath to provide her just a glimpse of the comfort she brought him.
“Adam?” He might have taken too long admiring her fingers, and when Janey called again, the icy green eyes finally landed on their next destination.
A greenhouse on the other side of the park.
“Worth assessing the place. Lead the way.”
Janey’s subtle frown, followed by an amused smile also did not pass unnoticed. Adam knew she was studying him, from the way he talked to how close he was to her—that’s how Janey was, always attentive to people, always curious—and should probably have figured out he was acting different. His mind was not where it should be, and it was showing.
So much so that Adam couldn’t even describe the landscape on their way to the greenhouse. As they crossed the garden, only the sound of Janey’s voice asking questions about the fairies would take shape in his memory. Her voice, and the feeling of their elbows touching here and there occasionally, fluttering the rhythm of their breaths.
The last rays of sunlight had sunken down behind the trees by the time they arrived at the greenhouse. The place was enormous, made entirely of glass and decorated with an iron structure painted in white in art nouveau style. The rounded edges and curvaceous geometry felt organic, as if the building was a living part of the garden, housing an astonishing amount of plants like a nursery. Adam had to take off his aviators to take a proper look at the explosion of colours and shapes of every single bloom, realising in a second that Janey didn’t have the same advantage.
“Well, it’s dark here.” She pointed out, pursing her lips while looking up as if to check for the lightbulbs. “Weird that there’s no one here. I was expecting some couples, or at least the scientists that work here.”
I’m glad there is no one else here, Adam wished to say, but instead he followed the obvious, most logical response, “It is already late to be so far away from the city. Everyone must have left a few hours ago.”
He searched for the switch, a small thing hidden behind a bush by the front doors, and turned the lights on. Expected to see the usual fluorescent white from the Facility, but watched as hundreds of tiny yellowish spots popped to life all around them, bathing the greenhouse in warmth. Strings of fairy lights followed a design like the canvas of a tent from the external walls to the central piece: a weeping willow tree, so tall that its canopy filled the space of one of the three glass domes on the roof.
Upon reaching the tree, the lights seemed to transform into vines, embracing the branches and falling along the dangling leaves like a waterfall. There was no magic in the entire botanical garden, but the look in Janey’s eyes as she admired the images around said otherwise, as if Adam had just brought her spring itself as a gift. He might just have, if such a thing was possible.
“Will this be enough for them?” Janey asked, voice low and smooth, lost in the glittering lights.
“For whom?” Adam returned, lost in the shine of her eyes.
“The fairies, of course.” And she giggled while approaching him, suddenly locking her gaze on his. “What else do they need?”
“Well, they have enough water and flowers here,” his feet moved by an unconscious desire, “There is shelter from the external weather and…” he swallowed hard, unsure if he should continue but, eventually, he did, "A lot of space for partying."
“Partying?”
“They are known for hosting week-long dances. Love to drink and to waltz.”
“I never really learned how to waltz.” Janey’s voice was only a whisper, eyes drifting away from Adam’s and reflecting the hundreds of lights around. He, however, was not paying attention to anything else but her and the way her lips curled up, almost in slow motion, overflowing with warmth. On second thought, maybe she was the one delivering spring to that place. “Must be wonderful to see.”
“Truly beautiful.” Not even Adam could conceal what he meant. He had no interest in the practices and lifestyle of fairies or of any other creature, and despite being an admirer of arts, it was clear that something else was marvelling him. Someone else. His breath of confession drew her back to him, and disarmed by hypnosis, he bursted, “Would you like to try?”
“What?” She took another step closer, graceful as a ballerina.
“Waltz.” Words seemed to tangle on each other before leaving his lips. “With me.”
From the moment he suggested going on that mission, Adam had done nothing but improvise. All the control he kept for over nine hundred years was slipping through his fingers, he could not think strategically anymore, and it was infuriating how he could not—simply could not—keep himself away from the detective. She was a fire burning inside of him and he should be turning to ashes by now. And yet there he was, surrounded by light and that warmth that was not coming just from her body heat.
He waited for an answer, pursing his lips in a thin line, questioning his careless attitudes, feeling like his chest was about to set alight, and—
“Yes. I would love to.”
A sigh of relief came from both parts, tension crumbling like a sand castle. If Adam was going to be that reckless, then so be it.
He ventured forth, right hand falling featherlight on Janey’s waist. She held his other hand, resting her palm on his and falling into his arms completely. Not once they took their gazes out of each other, eyes heavy-lidded when Adam began to lead them in circles carefully, slowly, like she was made of crystal. Terrified of breaking her.
It was nothing close to the waltz of the royal palaces of Vienna during the New Years, and much less to the Russian ballet, but still nothing felt wrong. Janey was tiny compared to him, his large hand spread almost entirely over her upper back, but it was her delicate fingers pressing into his shoulder that made him feel safe. The way she would not shy away from him, how she would spin on her axis every time he stretched out his arms just to pull her back closer and closer, was like magic of its own. Perhaps he was enchanted. She could have bewitched him. Or maybe, just maybe, it was something else. Something he was afraid of saying out loud, of letting it take form, but undeniably something he could not, would not, control.
Their feet moved together with remarkable precision, as if the spring of the greenhouse itself choreographed their movements, and even the floor felt softer. Janey slipped her fingers up to his neck, brushing his skin and leaving a tingling sensation before resting on his nape. A shiver ran up his spine, sharp enough for her to feel the dark blond hairs rising.
Their dance concluded slowly when Adam bowed down, holding her firmly in his arms as if laying her gently on a mattress of clouds. Janey held on to him, trusting him entirely, and didn’t let go afterwards. With no one to witness, their world felt silent, existing only in each other’s embrace. Adam saw when her lips parted just enough, hesitant, getting closer, increasing the thundering sound, trying to tear open her chest like a war drum so powerful that it could make him dizzy.
“Do you hear my heartbeat?” she whispered, eyes locked on his.
“Yes.”
“Can I listen to yours, too?”
“Yes...”
Janey wrapped both arms around his neck and rested her head on his chest, nose tip carefully fondling his sternum. Only then, with her cheek pressed against his white shirt, Adam realised that the drumming of hearts was a duet. His own perfectly synchronised to hers, still dancing, and he couldn’t help but to wrap his arms around her as well. In a garden of blooms, they formed a bud—secret, beautiful and new. He wished to stay in spring, with her, forever.
Alas, they were both ripped apart from dreaming when a too-loud bzzt bzzt emerged from the agent’s pocket. Distracted by each other, both rushed to untangle themselves quicker than their blood could colour their faces. Adam turned on his heels, reaching for the damn phone and answering the call.
“Commanding Agent du Mortain.”
“Adam, it's Nate. I’ve been trying to call for a while, is everything ok?”
A deep sigh left his lungs, “Yes, Nate. Everything is fine.”
“Are you still with Janey? Did you find a good place?”
He looked over his shoulder, gaze meeting Janey’s again. A shy grin on her rosy cheeks invited him to smile too, and so he did.
“Yes, Nate. I believe we found the perfect place.”

An Art of Balance #6
A/N: If anyone’s interested, the perfume Lizzie is wearing is one of my all-time favourites, Aqua di Gioia by Giorgio Armani. It’s really poorly described here because my olfactory recognition doesn’t go beyond ‘good’ and ‘bad’, but well. It’s divine though. Also, bear with me if sth astrological is wrong, this stuff is complicated! Katriona Cassiopeia (aka KC) belongs to my lovely friend @kc-needs-coffee
  Word Count: ~ 2.100
______________________________________________________________
Chapter 6: A New Perspective
As it turned out, Orion’s decision to name Everett Hufflepuff’s new Beater had been the right one. He still had a way to go, but he immediately fell in line with the rest of the team. What he lacked in precision, he made up in strength.
Orion had taking his individual training on himself. As the team’s captain, he saw it as his personal responsibility to ensure every one of his teammates was able to reach his full potential. Everett was a fast learner, but it would take him a few more sessions to even be remotely able to hold a candle to the Ravenclaw Beaters.
Rath and Cassiopeia had been a well attuned team for many years now, both as skilled a Beater as they came. They would need any protection against them they could get, and the match against Ravenclaw was approaching fast.
Although Orion wasn’t the type of person to let his mind be clouded by worries, he had to admit he wasn’t entirely sure they could get Everett into proper form in time. He had been voicing his concerns to Lizzie the other day, during one of their tutoring sessions. If anyone knew what it took to become a Beater in a short amount of time it was her.
Lately, Orion had found himself looking forward to their meetings in the greenhouse, despite his already tightly packed schedule. It was refreshing to discuss their team matters with someone that didn’t flood him with a multitude of statistics for a change. Lizzie had a different approach to things than him, but they weren’t polar opposites like he and Skye. Exchanging views with her had provided him with a new impulse more than once.
In fact, he had come to enjoy her presence in general, even more so than before. They had always been friends but his knowledge about her had pretty much begun and ended at the Quidditch pitch. Seeing her outside team meetings and practise had allowed him to get to know other sides of her. He’d had no idea Lizzie had been part of the duelling club until last year. Or that Arithmancy was one of her favourite subjects. Or that she used a perfume smelling distinctively of jasmine and mint.
Orion had a harder time bonding with her friend Rowan. He hadn’t had any points of contact with her before he had started tutoring them. Now, several weeks later, he still knew hardly anything about her. She seemed to be exceptionally smart, but also equally as shy. Most of the time she would consult her textbook about the plants he tried to teach them about, while Lizzie paid it no mind, listening to his explanations instead.
Orion couldn’t help his impression that Rowan was struggling with his unconventional style of teaching. He didn’t refer to books more than he had to, rather letting his instinct and experience guide him.
Having trained with him for years, Lizzie knew his way of conveying knowledge was not always straightforward. Rowan, however, had a hard time letting go of protocol. She was clinging to the academic theory as if her life depended on it. Following the rules could help with a lot of problems, but she would never master the delicate nuances advanced Herbology had to offer, if she wasn’t willing to tread paths unknown to her.
“And what exactly is the difference between dried foxglove petals and desiccated foxglove petals?”
McNully snapped him out of his thoughts and back to where they were sitting in the Great Hall. It was study time and most of the students were gathered at their House tables, brooding over their homework.
They had been discussing their latest Potions essay, covering the effects sourcing methods had on the quality of ingredients.
“That is what we are supposed to illustrate, I believe.” Orion dipped his quill into the ink bottle they were sharing and tried to pick up where his wandering thoughts had let him off. His eyes wandered casually across the other Hufflepuff students lining their table.
It lingered where Skye and Lizzie were sitting. Lizzie was rapidly flicking through the pages of her textbook with a puzzled expression. Skye was talking insistently at her, looking equally as bewildered.
Several heads shot up as Lizzie audibly slammed her book shut and clambered off the bench. When Skye made no move to follow her, she jerked the other girl up off her seat and motioned with her head towards where he and McNully were sat.
They quietly walked towards the head of the Hufflepuff table. Seeing them approach, McNully reached for his wheelchair that was blocking the way. He moved it aside to allow the girls to join them. Orion smiled.
“What can we help you with?”
Wordlessly, Lizzie held up her copy of Unfogging the Future and slid into a seat between Murphy and him. She reopened the page she had been examining before and gave a frustrated sigh.
“I cannot tell you how much I hate Divination, I really can’t. You’re good at this, aren’t you?”
Orion supressed a smile. “So I am told. What bothers you in particular?”
“It’s those bloody birthstones,” Skye explained. “No matter how often we go over it, Lizzie and I always come to different results and we can’t find the mistake.”
They handed him their notes and Orion quickly gave them a check before returning them.
“That is because both choices are correct. There is more than one birthstone for each of the zodiac signs. You both chose the right stone for the right sign, but in different parts of the time span covered.”
Skye groaned in frustration, earning her a chiding glance from Professor Flitwick, who was supervising them today. “What do you mean, more than one? Why can’t this stuff be straightforward for once?”
“Everyone is different and such is reflected in the stones fortifying our inner strengths. Why should there be so little birthstones when there are so many traits to represent?”
Both girls looked at him with blank expressions.
Patiently, he flipped the pages to one of the star charts at the back of the book. “The astrological year is divided into the twelve zodiac signs. Each zodiac sign is subdivided into three decades, meaning a set of ten days. There are additional factors to consider, but simply put, there are three birthstones for each sign, representing one decade each. That is why you come to different conclusions, you didn’t factor in the time of the month.”
He contemplated telling them about the stones meant to counteract each signs weaknesses. But seeing Skye pinching the bridge of her nose, while was Lizzie trying to process what he had just said, muttering “I hate Divination” under her breath, he decided against it. Better not too much at once.
“How do you know all this nonsense?” Skye was shaking her head in disbelief.
“I know all this because it is explained in the introduction of the chapter you two apparently weren’t reading too diligently.” He turned the pages back to the beginning and pointed at the paragraph on the first page.
Lizzie’ cheeks flushed a bright read as she quickly scanned the text. “I can’t believe I overlooked this.” Embarrassed, she quickly snatched the book out of Orion’s hands and got up. “Thanks for helping anyway.”
They made their way back to their places, the scent of jasmine and mint lingering behind. Orion was always glad if he could help a friend. A few seats down the table, Lizzie was discussing what he had just told them with Skye. He thought back on what Penny and Murphy had said on the train ride to Hogwarts a few weeks earlier.
Lizzie really had changed a lot. She seemed to be standing taller, an air of effortless confidence around her. The blush on her cheeks had made her look really pretty, reminding him of how the rush of the wind brought the colour to her face when she was flying. She was moving differently as well, more graceful and fluently, her hips swaying ever so slightly with every step she took. He had never noticed her hips swaying like that before.
McNully nudged his shoulder. “Uhm, Orion… if you don’t want to rewrite your whole essay, I’d move my quill if I was you.”
He snapped out of it and looked down at his parchment. The ink was dripping from the tip of his quill, forming a large black puddle at the end of his last sentence that was quickly spreading onto the rest of his half-finished essay.
Orion cursed under his breath, immediately drawing his wand to vanish the excess ink. Fortunately not too much of his work was ruined.
McNully raised his eyebrows. “Such a strong language, my friend. I have only heard you curse three times, so far. One time was when you crashed your broom into the commentary box and broke your wrist, the second time when you forgot the time while broom balancing and almost missed your Defence Against the Dark Arts O.W.L. exam and the third time when you burned yourself on your cauldron and spilled Wiggenweld Potion all over Professor Snape. This reaction is 87,9 % surprising.”
He felt the heat creeping up his neck. McNully was right, he wasn’t easily enticed to displaying his emotions verbally. He hadn’t meant to let himself slip like that.
Choosing not to answer his curious friend, he committed himself to restoring the missing part of his essay. But McNully wouldn’t let it pass like that.
He was nodding in the direction of Lizzie. “I wonder if she knows how much attention she is attracting.”
Orion gripped his quill a little tighter, concentrating on finishing his sentence. He fought the urge to follow McNully’s gaze.
“Our friend has a captivating personality, for sure. But would you mind lifting the veil of ignorance from my eyes and tell me how you reached such a conclusion?”
For a moment, McNully smirked knowingly before he directed Orion’s attention over to where their roommates were sitting. He could easily make out what McNully had been referring to. Everett was eyeing the girls up without even trying to conceal it.
“Him, of course. He’s been checking Lizzie out ever since she came over to us.” He smiled innocently at him. “Why, who did you think I was talking about?”
Orion’s brow furrowed in concern. He didn’t like the predatory look on Everett’s face. This guy had somewhat of a reputation.
“Yeah, I don’t like the looks he’s giving her either,” McNully echoed his unspoken thoughts with a scowl. He leaned closer to him, putting his elbow on Orion’s shoulder in conspiratorial way. “I think we should do something about it, don’t you? And by ‘we’, I obviously mean ‘you’.”
Shaking off McNully’s hand, Orion gave him a disapproving look. “And why would I do that? He is our new Beater if you don’t recall.”
“For the sake of the team, of course!”
McNully started reciting his calculations. “I’d put the chance of him going for our little Chaser prodigy at roughly 80 %. There are some variables unaccounted for, but I’d say the chances of Lizzie falling for him lie at something around 54 %. Which would affect the team’s dynamic gravely. And we can’t have that decreasing our- I mean, your odds on winning the Quidditch Cup.”
Orion blew onto his parchment until the ink had properly dried. “You talk as if he was actually hitting her up. All he did was looking at her.”
And there was certainly nothing wrong with looking.
“Lizzie can fend for herself if need be. Besides, who am I to interfere with the course the heart is deciding to take.”
McNully looked at him as if he had lost his mind. “Mate… I don’t think the heart has much to with it if you get my drift. Seriously, do something.”
“Don’t worry, I will.” He stood up and handed Professor Flitwick his work of the day.
McNully raised one eyebrow at him. “And what would that be?”
Orion gathered his strewn books and notes. “Finding balance inside and outside of my mind, my dear friend. See you at dinner.”

Complicated Boyfriends and Cute Waiters
Just a little something for @starkerchemistry for all the love she threw at Complicated Boyfriends and Kidnapping. Also, pls reminds Chems of how amazing her work is bc the lil shit disagrees >:( Also for @starkerintheparker because I keep converting her to WinterSpider >;D WinterIronSpider.
Tony takes one look at his waiter and sighs heavily.
Not because there’s anything wrong; no. In fact, the plush lips and the shaped jaw and the mop of curls desperately styled into something resembling purposeful mess is actually quite pleasing. The large, honey eyes that widen in recognition don’t hurt either.
No. It’s because Tony knows Bucky is going to take one look at this twinky little slip in his smart shirt and his tie and he’s going to want.
And Tony so had been looking forwards to a quiet evening. A little wine, some $80 salmon and perhaps even getting dicked down into the next fortnight by his boyfriend. The standard casual night in.
“Mr. Iron Stark” the boy whelped, and immediately flushed scarlet at his mishap. Tony could only smile quietly into his book, endeared if a little mollified.
“I think ‘Tony’ would suffice” he responded demurely, sliding the bookmark into place and setting his book aside. The boy was now stood bolt upright, and had obviously steeled himself into giving the Best Service Ever, though he looked a little like he might crumble if Tony so much as looked at him for too long.
“Oh, god. Right. Yes. Mr - I mean, Tony. Of course. I’m sorry, I’ve only just started this job and I’m not used to...” The boy trailed off, clearly trying to think of a way to say ‘people like you’ without it coming across as a little insulting. Tony flashed him an easy, warm smile.
“Breathe, kid. I’m just like anyone else in person, I promise. How about you start me off with a nice, fruity red bottle and two double Presidential 25′s, if that’s okay? Take your time; Lord knows my boyfriend certainly is” he teased, head tipping as he disarmed the boy with another dazzling smile.
His waiter could only gape, before he shut his mouth with a painful sounding clack and spun on his heel, fleeing to the nether-regions of the employee zone. Tony gave an amused sound as he checked his phone. It wasn’t like Bucky to run late; that was Tony’s thing.
And then, like Beetlejuice and undoubtedly because Tony had been thinking of him, Bucky came sauntering into the restaurant like some sort of underwear model. His suit was a deep, silken black with a slightly lighter floral pattern in the fabric, the jacket hanging artfully off his shoulders as he swept the room for his lover.
His hair was styled neatly, and Tony still loved the more modernised cut that he’d opted for; longer on one side, layered and fluffy with bangs that fell over one eye constantly. His stubble was a neat shadow on his jaw, and his eyes focused on Tony with such intensity as he approached that Tony lifted a brow.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were trying to out-do me” Tony greeted as he leaned back in his seat, enough that Bucky could duck down and suck his lower lip into his mouth for a brief but promising kiss.
“Actually, I’m just trying to do you” Bucky shot back shamelessly as he slid into his seat, one leg immediately finding Tony’s under the table to press against. Tony gave an indignant sound, because it was both a truth and a lie, but let it go as movement caught the corner of his eye. Much as he wanted to watch the boy approach, he turned back to Bucky.
Storm-grey eyes slid away, following the path his own had left, and oh, yes. There it was. The subtle up-down of Bucky’s lashes as he sized up the boy, the curl of a smirk at the corners of his mouth. Bucky’s gaze drifted back to Tony in an undeniable stake of predator-prey. Tony could only tip his head in response, smirking slowly.
“H-here. I’m so sorry it took a while” the boy fretted, balancing a tray neatly on one hand as he set a tumbler of whiskey opposite each man, complete with artful glass freezer cubes and an empty, polished wine glass besides that, setting the bottle of red - freshly corked - in the centre of the table. He had to lean over a little to do so, and you would have had to be blind to miss the way that Bucky leaned back to sweep over his body.
“What did I say, darling? Treat me like any other rich shmuck in this place. And don’t mind him, he only bites if you ask nicely” Tony hummed, gesturing to his boyfriend, who eyed him both like he wanted to throttle him and kiss him senseless. In Tony’s experience they often came one with the other regardless.
“I - Sorry?” It came out as a question, but the boy was flushed from hairline to shirt collar and fumbled with his notepad, hands a little shaky as he produced a pen from his breast pocket. “Um, are you ready to order? Or would you like me to give you another minute?” He asked, and it was impossible to miss the way his gaze flit between them, eyes raking their bodies like they were two cuts of steak he was trying to decide between.
“Oh, I think Bucky knows what he wants, alright” Tony purred in obvious, gleeful amusement. Bucky smiled at him in a flash of canine, but didn’t miss a beat as he tipped his head back, eyeing the waiter with a charming smile.
“I’ll settle for the stripped, gold-crust steak served rare, and your name, since this moron was clearly too impolite to ask”. And ooohhhh, wasn’t that a low blow to gain favour? Tony pressed the toes of his Louboutin’s into Bucky’s own none too gently.
“Peter” the waiter blurted, eyes flitting between them as he scribbled down Bucky’s order in impressive short-hand, gaze drifting to Tony, who only smiled serenely at his boyfriend.
“You’re so predictable. Always going for the tender, high-class meat. Always liking it raw” Tony purred, and they both knew he wasn’t talking about the steak. Bucky only gave an elegant shrug in response; at a loss to deny it. Peter was looking between them again, vaguely like he might know they were talking about sex, but unable to address it.
“What can I say? I like something solid to sink my teeth into. I like a little juice to lick at and taste. And you of all people know I prefer it raw” Bucky replied steadily, gaze not leaving Tony’s.
“I’ll have the salmon, please, Peter.” Tony hummed, gaze leaving Bucky to look sweetly up at the boy, who nodded and turned, striding away like he was desperate to run away. Tony let his gaze drop back to Bucky. “Less wolf, more fox. He’s a skittish young thing. Haven’t I taught you anything about hunting?” He sighed in mock admonishment and Bucky reached across the table to cup his jaw, smirking.
“Doll, I was fucking people in back-alleys long before you were born. You taught me nothing, old man”. And, well. Rude. “You’re right, though. We might spook him off at this rate. Last time I saw someone that red it was Clint, and he was choking on a mint”. Bucky leaned back, picking up his whiskey and taking an indulgent sip.
They made comfortable small-talk over the time it took for their meals to arrive, Tony lamenting the boredom he’d faced at the quarterly performance review and Bucky noting the progress he and Steve were making with their veteran programs. Tony was proud of his man, really. He’d come so far since Steve had shown up at the Tower with him, both sopping wet and bloodied.
Peter came back no longer than ten minutes later, a plate upon each hand. He delivered Tony’s first, bending down to slide the plate onto the table, and Tony couldn’t resist leaning over, flashing a sweet smile at the boy up close, where he could see flacks of green in his eyes. “Thank you, darling” he murmured, and Peter’s cheeks went red yet again, like Tony simply speaking to him was an activation button for a blush.
Bucky, the brat, had to go one extra. Instead of giving Peter room when the boy bent down he crowded in close, practically licking the shell of the boy’s ear as he whispered a sultry "Thanks, Doll”. Peter’s gaze jerked to Tony, alarmed, but Tony only half-rolled his eyes and picked up a delicate mouthful of smoked salmon.
“You’re a pest” he noted, once Peter had stammered his way into retreating once more. “I had a quiet evening planned” he added, as though it mattered. It didn’t. This practically was his quiet evening, he just now had two desserts instead of one. By the way Bucky eyed him, he knew that, too.
“Shut up and eat your fish” Bucky drawled, popping a cut of dripping steak with tiny flecks of gold powder into his mouth. Obnoxious prat.
But Tony did as told, polishing off the salmon and whiskey both, and filling their wine glasses with a generous serving. It was sweet and rich, just his taste, and he wondered if another waiter hadn’t advised Peter on which choice to bring. “So. The choice is yours” he announced after a pause, when Bucky had finished his own meal and was sniffing daintily at the wine.
“You wanna play sheepdog, or am I?” Bucky asks in answer, lips curving into a wicked smirk that has Tony grinning in response, leg twisting around Bucky’s in a hidden touch. Tony shifted his wine glass in response, allowing a few measly drops to fall onto the edge of his jacket. Good thing he wore grey and hated this suit anyway, because that red wasn’t gonna come out.
Bucky only rolled his eyes, because they’d played this game before, and pushed to his feet. “Woof woof, bitch” Bucky murmured, low into Tony’s ear as he passed, and Tony resisted the urge to drag him back by his hair, to put him on his knees right then. Largely because of he had one more PR disaster this month Pepper got his custom Audi, and he only had four days to go.
It took another short collection of minutes for Peter to come practically skipping over; during which Tony had splashed a few more drops for good measure. “Oh, Peter. D’you think you could help a clumsy old man out? Buck’s gone on a phonecall and I tipped my wine” Tony pouted, putting on his best helpless, sweet aura. Peter’s eyes zeroed in on the red splashed at his hips, tongue peeking out like the solution was to lick it clean.
“Of course! I can - I’ll see if there’s any stuff behind the bar? I can be right back” Peter breathed, but Tony shook his head, pushing to stand. Peter’s eyes are wide now, like a startled deer. They’re stood close enough for Tony to note he has almost a full head on the boy. For a man who’s boyfriend towered over him, it made him rather smug.
“Oh, no need for all of that. Just come to the men’s with me to help me dab the wet patches, hm? At least I won’t reek like a wine cellar on the way home”. He added a charming smile for good measure, turning on his heel. He didn’t need to look to know Peter would follow obediently. Refusing Tony Stark wasn’t good for business, after-all.
Bucky is perfectly concealed when he swings the door open, shrugging out of his jacket and listening to the clack of another polished shoe on the tiles as Peter steps in after him, practically vibrating with nervous energy. Tony carelessly draped his jacket over the edge of the sink and begun to run the tap, because what was a story without details?
Peter hovered closer, clearly unsure of why it would take two men to wash a jacket. “I - What do you need me to do, Mr. Stark?” The boy asks not a moment later, and Tony can’t bite back a grin. Peter has wandered around to his right, which means when Bucky makes his dramatic entrance, it’s gonna be behind the kid.
“Oh, nothing you don’t want to, darling. But if you do want to, then just stand there and let me make you feel good, hm?” He asked, head tilting as he turned off the tap and took a step closer. The hitch of Peter’s breath is audible.
He doesn’t step away, though. Interesting.
“Y-You’re here with your boyfriend” Peter whimpered, even as Tony’s hands came up to his shoulders and chest, petting gently. He trembled under the touch, but didn’t back away, sucking his lower lip into his mouth. Over Peter’s shoulder Tony can see Bucky swing around the edge of a stall door, prowling quietly closer, but he doesn’t dare look up, doesn’t dare alert Peter of the predator at his heels.
“I wouldn’t worry about hurting my feelings, Doll” Bucky purred, low and raspy in Peter’s ear as he pressed up against Peter’s back, until the boy was a pretty little sandwich filler. Peter actually yelped, driving forwards into Tony’s chest, and Tony let his hands fall to slim hips, holding him steady.
“Now, Bucky” he chided, voice softening. “What do we do before we play?” He asked, arching a brow as Peter panted between them. Bucky cast him a pouty but gentle look.
“We ask for consent” he hummed, metal hand reaching up to gently brush aside a curl when Peter whipped around to face him, lips parted.
“Good boy” Tony murmured, gaze dropping back to Peter. They take a step away from him in unison, giving the poor thing some room to breathe. “So. That means you can tell us to stop, and we’ll walk out, pay our bill, and we won’t approach you this way again. Or...You can say yes, and we’ll be gentle, but we’ll make you feel good” he continued.
Peter shifted between them, looking cautious but also like he was two breaths away from sinking to his knees. His voice is small, rough when he finally speaks. “If...What will you do? To make me feel good?” He whispered, and Tony and Bucky wore matching, slow smirks.
“Well. I’m more of a practical person” Tony drawled, eyes roaming Peter’s face for confirmation. He found it in a weak nod, the boy’s pupils blowing as he advanced closer and reached out, him and Bucky closing Peter between them once again. Peter was small between them, lips bitten and eyes wild as Bucky reached down, sliding metal fingers along the curve of his ass and between his thighs, rubbing there like you’d finger a girl, his other hand winding around to press flat over Peter’s stomach.
A wrecked, torn sound slips from Peter’s throat, practically collapsing against Bucky as Tony’s hand dripped down, palming over the half-hard bulge there none too teasingly, the other hand cupping his jaw and tipping his head.
“We’ve maybe got five minutes or less” Tony breathed, licking into the corner of Peter’s plush, pink mouth as Bucky pressed up against him, dropping to mouth at his neck. “I can think of a few things to do”.

There are some home interior designing resources which are only accessible to the designers and it is quite difficult for the amateurs and the regular people to find them. Brand new adventure- Harry’s interview with L’Officiel Hommes China (translation courtesy of Google)
He is the face of Gucci's new fragrance, an ultra-modern pop star and an exquisite young man, and Harry Styles may be content with his premature achievements. But he prefers to choose to be alone and fade out of the public eye, with curiosity or even greed to touch the music.
"So French!" The young man in a Mickey Mouse sweater smiled softly, facing the sometimes excited and blushing editorial team of magazines. On the day after the interview, his new song was launched, and it attracted more than 1.5 million followers in just a few hours. After a brief retreat, or after a breath-recovery process like holding his breath, a series of bumps began, and this was the return of Harry Styles. Harry, who has just soloed from One Direction (the band sold 50 million records over a six-year career and has since ceased indefinitely), achieved his personal career and released his first solo album in 2017. People saw him transforming. He was no longer the Harry of the 1D band, but became an independent artist, receiving reviews from music critics, and going in harmony with this era. He is fickle, he treats his sexual orientation peacefully, he defends equality, and supports same-sex marriage. The pop singer who has grown up in the greenhouse has now become a cocoon. Gucci's vibrant, poetic and destructive creative director Alessandro Michele, who is responsible for the styling of Harry's first tour after solo, has been selected as this fashion season Image ambassador for the new fragrance "Gucci Mémoire d'une Odeur".
Soon before our meeting, he just spread some clear signals in an American journal, announcing some song samples of the new album: in recent months, he has been listening to McCartney, reading Murakami sang with Stevie Nicks in preparation for the new album. So on the day we met, we found two pieces of evidence that witnessed his creative journey over the past few months. The content of these songs is full, exquisitely arranged, delicate and at the same time rough and unruly, like an ecstatic intoxication, but also the sorrow of dawn and dawn, all of which show a large album full of color and temperature collision.
While anxiously waiting to jump into the vortex of public attention (album promotion, touring, and many things in celebrity life), the 25-year-old boy calmly told with restraint and enthusiasm throughout the day. Yourself. (To be honest, he did not try to avoid the eyes of passers-by. Instead, he walked in the panties between the two shots and ate Asian takeaway meals at the corner of the street instead of sipping healthy celery juice or eating Steamed tofu.) "The first smell I remember was probably the smell in her mother's kitchen, the smell of her roasted meat, and the smell of perfume on her." This is how this good son, also a contemporary superstar, is. Express his memory related to smell. However, if one day Harry lives in your house by accident, who knows if this will happen? Never let him feed your cat, because he said: "I have been accompanied by cats every time I grew up, every time. When I feed them, the smell of cat food makes me unbearable. "
It can be said that his cooperation with Alexandro Michele is not a pretense, and their creative lines coincide. "Alexandro is a free thinker, and his way of working is very enlightening. If he wants to do something, he will do it. It's that simple. It's impressive, especially for a big When working at a brand. This is great when you have the opportunity to participate in the work of a recognized master. He doesn't ask about class, age, or business. He does everything for everyone, everyone, I I think that any kind of art should be like that. "He talked about childhood again (yes, childhood seems to be yesterday in his eyes)": I like 'scent memory', I like its freshness, and it can be based on the user The different and changing characteristics. This perfume reminds me of the summer of childhood. Sitting with friends by the lake, where I grew up, smelling the fragrance of wild flowers ... "Today this Times exactly reflect the poem of Henri Michaux: "Night is not like daylight, it has great flexibility." That is to say, Michele's method is very suitable, even with this kind of abandoning the rules The approach is closely related. "Boundaries are gradually falling, whether in fashion, music festivals, film and television, or the art world ... I do n’t think people are still looking for differences in this category. The line between them is also the subject of creation. People no longer need to be this or that person. I think that people are simply trying to get better. In fashion and other fields, these standards are not as strict as before, which brings Great freedom, exciting. " "Although Michelle doesn't necessarily ask for my opinion, we will show some ideas to each other. It is cool to get opinions from people who are not necessarily in the same field as you, and you respect his work and taste "We noticed a new motivation, perhaps a new way of writing, which came from taking control of our careers. In short, when a seductive carefree and cruelly erodes talent, a serious mentality that a person shows ": writing songs is surfing. You can train as much as you can, and the waves Sometimes it doesn't. But we still need training to get better. It's impossible to sit down one day and think about writing the best song of my life. It takes a lot of effort. "
He worked in a bakery ten years ago, but now he has become the company's bet, the star and the focus of media attention. Whether out of fantasy or fact, he ca n’t help asking such a young man. How to get rid of this cobweb of public opinion. "Becoming famous is something I'm still learning and experiencing. I learn how to filter out what I like and dislike, pick out what can be integrated into the song, and what I don't want to share. Find a balance. Sometimes wondering how people think about this or that lyrics ... it means accepting to show off their fragile side, but at the same time, it makes the whole adventure exciting The reason. "He said. Indeed, when he revealed some clues about the upcoming album, the excitement was obvious, hoping that he could express "a sense of freedom". This feeling is not completely new to some hot idols, especially some like "Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, Stevie Niks, Janis Joplin Joplin) and Prince ". In contrast to this crowd is Nick Drake, whom he likes to listen to recently. The outstanding singer's music is full and well-crafted, giving people a joy. "When I look at them, I don't know what it is, but it's there. It's a strange thing. They transcend the limits. When it comes to songwriting, McCartney has always had a huge impact on me. I was lucky Some of them are strong, and in my eyes, they have always been awesome. "
He arrived in a special car (with a driver, a small freezer and dark windows), and instead walked to the corner bar for a beer, and the number of people accompanying him decreased. Looking at the back of this millennial superstar, we think again of the teenager wearing an exaggerated cardigan, dreaming of standing out in the TV singer competition. Today, behind him is a gentle fragrance of wildflowers and Sunday lunch.
