Perfection
Self-Aware! Fyodor Dostoevsky x GN! Reader x Self-Aware! Nikolai Gogol
Description: A passing comment makes you feel terrible about yourself. Fyodor and Nikolai disagree.
Set between Surprise and Sick Day
Warning: OOC. Body Insecurity. Hateful thinking during eating. Rude comments. Reader have hateful thoughts about themselves. English is my second language.
_______
You were in one of the many fast food restaurants in your city. Today you have a movie night and need some snacks for that. You were waiting in line for your turn to make order. Meanwhile, you read the menu once again. Maybe, something new was added.
Movie night was time full of unhealthy food and different movies, starting with classic films and ending up with any trashy movie you could find.
Today you were going to watch a bunch of Halloween movies. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and "Ghostbusters" with everyone. And, after kids go to bed, you will watch "Bram Stoker's Dracula" just to hear Bram's comments about vampires and "Nightmare on Elm Street".
You knew, that tonight's going to be fun.
"Hello, how may I help you?" asked the cashier. They looked a little bit interested in everything, that happened around. You smile.
"Hello. I will have seven big buckets of fried wings and five big french fries. Thank you."
You took money from your pocket and put them on the counter. You knew, how much you need to pay, it wasn't the first time you made the order.
Cashier's eyes widen. He looked at you from head to toes. He mumbles.
"I-It will be ready in a few minutes..."
The cashier disappeared behind the kitchen's door. You start waiting. You decide to have a better look at some pictures, that were on the wall.
While you were looking at them, you heard hashed voices coming from the kitchen.
"What? Seven buckets of fried wings and five big french fries? Won't they burst?" said an unfamiliar voice.
"They immediately took the right amount of money from their pocket. It looks like this is not the first time they have made this order. It's quite obvious, really. Just look at their... cheeks... hands... stomach... Look at their everything!" The cashier from earlier answered.
You saw his reflection in the window. He was pointing at you and making some gestures in the air. Like he was trying to draw a sphere in the air.
You became still. You tried to tell yourself, that their opinion shouldn't matter, that they just bored and thought that you were an easy target.
"They looked like a balloon. A barrel with lard!"
You grit your teeth. Will you two stop and give me my order?
Finally, they became bored and returned to the kitchen. In a few moments, you finally got your order.
You glare at the cashier, but didn't say anything. Soon you will be home, having a good time with your friends.
You stomped away from the restaurant, holding bags with food in your hands. For one moment, you saw your reflection in the restaurant's window.
Your... cheeks do look chubbier.... And arms...
You hurry to the car. Kunikida was waiting for you.
You put bags on the back sit and sat on the front passenger seat.
You were silent on your way home.
You were staring at your reflection in the car window.
Were your cheeks always that chubby?
________
This evening was too cold for a summer evening.
So you decide to put on your jacket.
New jacket... That just month weeks ago was big to you.
New jacket, that now you could hardly put on you.
Small... It was small for you.
You decide, that you aren't that cold.
_________
The table in the living room were full of junk food.
Popcorn, nachos, tacos, chips, fried wings, french fries and soda drinks.
So tasty... So unhealthy...
...so much food, that will make you fatter...
The movie was on...
And each snack you ate felt like a rock in your stomach...
_________
After movie night was over, you locked yourself in your bedroom.
You take a better look at yourself in the mirror.
You have gained weight.
It was impossible, not to do it, while living with BSD Cast. Ivan was a good baker, Junchirou's cooking was amazing, Kenji could fry a steak better, than in any fancy restaurant, Kyouka's cooking make you want seconds, and it was impossible to say 'no' to food, that was cooked by Fyodor and Nikolai.
And how you can refuse to share snacks with Ranpo, or not have a tea party with Kirako and Naomi?
You decide to lose some weight... Do more exercises, then usual.
And ate less...
________
You manage to skip breakfast.
You just said that you were too tired and want to sleep some more.
They didn't ask you any questions.
You manage to skip lunch.
You pretend to be sleeping. Still.
You were forced to have dinner.
You couldn't sleep all day.
You are dinner with everyone. For dinner, you had mushed potatoes and pork.
You ate some mushed potatoes...
...your hips will be even wider...
You ate some pork..
... your stomach soon will look like you swallowed a globe...
You were smiling and talking with Atsushi, discussing last news...
And ate... Ate... Ate...
...they were right, you are a barrel with lard...
It takes your everything not to make yourself vomit after the dinner. If you didn't lose weight...
... soon they will leave a fat ball like you...
Everything is going to be okay... More exercises and less food... It will help...
________
For one week, you were trying to lose weight.
You train with Hunting Dogs even harder than before.
You didn't notice worried glances, that Teruko and Fukuchi cast at you. You didn't notice Jounou's attempts to make you rest. You didn't notice Tachihara's and Tetchou's hesitation, while they were exercising with you.
You didn't notice, that you looked less and less healthy.
_________
For one week, you skipped meals.
You find any excuse you could. Any reason you could find.
"I am not hungry" "Sorry, I need to finish something for my university" "I need to be somewhere right now, will have dinner in the city."
You choose to ignore worried glances.
You didn't manage to skip meals completely. You ate some fruits and vegetables every day. Not enough for a real meal.
You refused to have snacks with Ranpo. You choose to ignore, how hurt he looked, while hearing your 'no' for the third time in a week.
You refused to drink tea with Kirako and Naomi. You choose to ignore their questions, if they did something wrong.
You ignored, that you became more and more weaker.
______
You were banned from going to the training area. Something about you needing some rest and stop overworking yourself.
You could protest, but Gide and Verlaine, who were guiding the entrance to the training area, didn't look even slightly interested in hearing your arguments.
You couldn't do anything, so you return home.
And you immediately were greeted by Nikolai and Fyodor. Kolya grinned.
"Hey, [Y/N], let's have some lunch! I made pampushkyš and Fedya made borscht! You will like it!"
Borscht and pampushky...
... even more fat...
... what if, back in May, Fyodor only asked to cuddle with you, because you were fat and warm, and he was cold?...
You lick your lips and mumbles.
"I can't... I must go to the library... In university library..."
Fyodor and Nikolai stared at each other.
Fyodor spoke. His voice was soft.
"Myshonok... Today is Sunday."
You close your eyes. What reason... Any reason...
You opened your mouth, trying to say something else, when a small bun was carefully shoved into your mouth.
"Here, Birdy, try it.... Please, just eat something..." Nikolai's voice sounded pleading.
You want to spit it out. But you had no other choice, but chew.
Fat pig... Hideous creature... You can't even hold yourself together...
You swallowed.
Before you can say something else, a spoon was put into your mouth.
Borscht... Warm soup... With meat and cabbage...
And sour cream...
"Myshonok, you need to eat. Stop starving yourself." Fyodor's voice was firm.
You will gain more weight... Even more clothes won't fit you...
You swallowed.
You looked at Nikolai and Fyodor. Both of them looked happy, that you ate at least one pampushka and one spoon of borscht.
And you despised yourself.
Nikolai took a step closer to you. He put his hands on your shoulders.
"Was it good? I sure, it was. I will bring another one... Oh, and a bowl of Fyodor's borscht! Just let me..."
You didn't know, what made you do this, but you were so close to screaming at Nikolai for giving you bread. You want to hurt Fyodor for forcing you to eat soup with sour cream.
hurt them hurt them them them make them pay say that you hate Them say that you hate them hurt them HURT YOURSELF
SAY THAT YOU HATE THEM
You open your mouth...
...hate them for what? For being your friends? For sticking around? For spending time with you? For worrying about you?...
...When was the last time you ate? Have a full meal and not a piece of apple? When was the last time you spent time with others? Were you even talking to Hunting Dogs while training? Did you say 'hello' to them...
You let out a quiet sob.
And immediately were pressed against Fyodor's chest. He draped his coat over you.
"ĐОНŃ, Ń ŃоКŃĐ°Ń ĐżĐžĐšĐ´Ń Đ¸ пОгОвОŃŃ Ń ĐŃŃОнкОП. ĐĐžŃĐ° дОкОпаŃŃŃŃ Đ´Đž ĐżŃавдŃ. ХПОМоŃŃ ŃдоНаŃŃ ŃĐ°Đş, ŃŃĐžĐąŃ Đ˝Đ°Ń Đ˝Đľ пОйоŃпОкОиНи?²" Fyodor's voice was calm. His grip was strong. You heard Nikolai's voice.
"ĐŻ ŃĐľ СŃОйНŃ. ĐĐ°Ń Đ˝ŃŃ
ŃĐž но пОŃŃŃĐąŃŃ.Âł" He sounds... worried. He stepped closer to Fyodor and lift the coat.
"Please... I miss you..."
He softly rubbed his cheek against yours and stepped away.
Fyodor's coat were once again draped over you.
You didn't resist, when Fyodor start leading you somewhere.
_____
The door closes behind you.
Fyodor removed his coat.
Both of you were in your room.
Your breathing was hard.
Fyodor was just standing here. Looking at you.
He spoke first.
"Myshonok, what's going on? You haven't eaten for one week, you hardly talk to anyone. We are worried about you."
You didn't answer. You were just swallowing tears, that were running down your cheeks.
You feel Fyodor's breath on your ear.
"[Y/N], please, talk to me."
You finally found your voice.
You told him about cashiers. About your sweater. About your insecurities. About hating yourself for eating food. About wanting to hurt Kolya and him just moments ago.
When you finish talking, only your sobs were heard.
Fyodor carefully squeezed your shoulders.
"[Y/N], everything about you is perfect. You are perfect, both inside and outside."
Your eyes met with Fyodor's purple eyes. They were so soft, so full of hidden affection. His hands cupped your cheeks.
"You aren't disgusting. You should not change because of some random person comments. And you only hurt yourself. You were almost starving all this week, you stopped talking to any of us. You try to make as many exercises as Tetchou normally do!"
Fyodor put his face closer to yours.
"Please, don't hurt yourself. If you feel down, just came to any of us. We all love you and want you to be happy. And for me..."
He kissed your cheek.
"For me, you are nothing less, than a perfection."
His eyes were so warm. You sobbed and hide your face in his chest.
He was warm. His embrace was everything you need right now.
"I... I..." you can't form a full sentence. Fyodor whispered, petting your head.
"Shhh... It's okay... It's okay... It will be okay..."
Fyodor took a step back, without breaking the embrace. He opened the door. You hear footsteps.
Now you were hugged by Fyodor and Nikolai at the same time.
Now you were sure, that everything is going to be fine.
_______
After you calm down, Fyodor, Nikolai and you had lunch together. It's not only was tasty, but very filling.
Then you three had a movie marathon. You were nested between Fyodor and Nikolai. A large bowl of popcorn with butter, salt and caramel was placed on your lap. It was tasty.
You had dinner with everyone. They were so happy, seeing you again. You felt, how the rest of your worries and sadness disappeared.
But, the last of bit of your sadness truly disappeared, when you were laying on your bed, in a middle of Fyodor and Nikolai cuddle sandwich. Your head were laying on Nikolai's chest. Fyodor's face were pressed against the back of your head.
Before drifting to sleep, you feel, how Fyodor kissed you on the back of your neck.
And whispered.
"Đ˘Ń ŃаПО ŃОвоŃŃонŃŃвО, [Т/Đ].â´"

curious about Bill's relationships with the twins in gbc
Bill is the twins' very reluctant, pissy, shithead older brother. At first, his ass is NOT conversing with them, because he's butthurt and jealous that he has to share his parents now that he knows they're alive, and he certainly doesn't consider them family (more like bothersome strays his parents picked up), but he's also smart enough to not hurt/torment them.
Eventually, though, Dipper and Mabel start to claw back his walls and nestle their way into his heart-equivalent organ, like the preteen parasites they are.
Individual twin stuff below!
Dipper: đ˛ââ
He likes picking on Dipper more, because the kid is easy to rile up, what with his anxiety and embarassing crush on Wendy. Bill looks at Dipper and sees a smaller, sweatier Sixer, complete with his own (and in Bill's opinion, better) abnormality.
However, where Ford was selfish and willing to give Bill everything and anything for answers, soaking up praise like a sponge, Dipper is far less susceptible to Bill's bullshit, and will actually give him sass. Bill gave Stan a nightmare once early on, and Dipper got so mad that he pulled out Bill's full, legal name and cursed him out in Euclydiean. He's seen Scalene's drawings of Bill as a baby in his comically large shoes, and thus is not at all afraid of him.
Bill, a creature that lives in the NIGHTMARE REALM, is wholly unused to this. It's weird and different, but it's not... Bad. As they get closer, Bill finds that Dipper is more than just the awkward potential puppet that he initially thought he was. He's got a good moral compass, yes, but it wavers now and then, and Pinetree is more than willing to do mean, vindictive things with Bill if someone crosses his family.
While Mabel got her Unicorn adventure with Bill as her first big bonding moment, Dipper's comes when he gets knocked unconscious during his encounter with Gideon's robot. Bill appears to Dipper and offers to wake him up and help him save Mabel, if Dipper is willing to let him possess his body. Now, Bill knows he's desperate, and could have easily added the condition that he gets to keep Dipper's body, or simply just not held up his end of the deal, but he doesn't. When Dipper awakes, he's bruised and sore, and his knuckles are covered in drying blood, but he is himself, and Mabel is safe, grinning at him as she grapples them down to the ground.
After that, Bill starts to casually hang around a lot more, usually by possessing Gompers or one of Mabel's stuffed animals. When Dipper starts to dress up again, Bill makes him a set of star earrings. Now, they are made out of teeth, but it's dragon teeth this time!
Mabel: đ đđĽ
Bill bonds with Mabel much faster, because it's easier for him to relate to her! Mabel is flashy, chaotic, and unapologetic, and Bill loves that! Usually, humans are very predictable and have boring Dreamscapes, but not Mabel. She changes gears faster than a Mantis shrimp punches, and her antics are way more amusing than anything Ford did.
He 100% enables her crazy plans. She wants to set off fireworks for Waddle and Gompers' wedding? Stan keeps the good stuff under his bed. She's making Dipper a special jug of Mabel Juice? Here kid, have some Smile Dip Ultra! (See you in the astral plane, Pinetree!) Cops are trying to send you to Washington for uncovering a government secret? RUN THEM OVER WITH A CAR!
...okay she doesn't listen on that last one, but you get the idea.
His absolute favorite moment with her was watching her punch Celestabellebethabelle's snout until it looked like a gnome threw up on it. He, at that time, was busy suffocating a Satyr with his plushie Unicorn form, but he was sure to give her plenty of praise.
He was surprised at the warm, fuzzy feeling that bloomed when she grinned at him, rainbow blood splattered on her cheek. Hmm. Had he eaten something recently and not chewed it enough? Maybe he was getting sick or something equally stupid. Surely he was not experiencing... Emotions. Ew.
Mabel bedazzles his bowtie for him. She is the only being aside from his parents who have touched his accessories and lived.

LMAO
So things did not go as well as planned.
I was sent to a different facility to get some specialized testing done on my blood. They did not have a parking area close to the building so we end up parking about a block away and had to walk.
We have no idea where we're going. Taco, my s/o, doesn't super understand what's going on with the elevators so we end up going down several flights of stairs.
Then while walking, he's so focused on following the directions on his phone that my short ass self is getting run ragged trying to keep up with his pace. I'm 5'3", he's 6'2". You can imagine how well this is going.
We climb a couple hills and make several wrong turns before arriving finally. I'm out of breath and thoroughly chilled. It's 40 degrees outside. The place has the heat cranked to ridiculous degrees so I'm already predicting what's about to go down.
I'm sensitive to temperature changes. My body gets shocked easily if I go from being very cold to very hot and vice versa very quickly. This usually results in a syncopic episode where I get very dizzy and very sick.
As soon as I sit down in the waiting room, I feel it hit me. I run to the bathroom to try and cool down a bit with a wet paper towel. It helps a bit. I can hear them looking for me so I leave the restroom and they begin the blood draw.
I'm surprisingly okay. The technician and I are chatting through it all. She takes 8 large vials out of me. As soon as the last vial finishes, my body goes "nope" and my vision goes dark. I do get sick all over my shirt.
They strip me down and clean me up. I'm put in two hospital gowns and given a cup of ice water to sip on. I tell them of the walk and they don't like the idea of me walking all that way again and insist I take a wheelchair.
Taco has to push me through the city streets, me in two hospital gowns, lap full of our belongings and my cup. He takes a different route this time. The correct route. Which is still uphill but much shorter.
We learn that all of it could have been avoided if we took the elevators up instead of down. but whatever. We're back at the car. I'm buckled in and we make our way back toward home.
As we're travelling, I'm playing the events back through my head. A very startling realization hits me:
We went uphill, both ways, in the freezing cold.
We did it. We did what old people everywhere have claimed to do. We accomplished the impossible.
Other than that little adventure, everything is fine. I'm just tired taking a bunch of vitamins and such. Playing vidjamagames and drawing silly little drawings.
Sleeping like a rock.
Hope everyone has a good one and I'll see yall when I see yall.

Realizing the reason for my anxiety CHANGED everything. If you have always struggled with anxiety, keep reading!
I've had anxiety as long as I can remember. As a child I was afraid of the dark like most kids, but to the point I slept on my parents floor until I was 11. Now knowing what I know, looking back on my childhood I used to hear voices, chatter, and music. I also had a very vivid imagination. As a kid and still to this day I have very deep and detailed conversations with "myself" or so I thought. I've always been an introvert, never had many friends; but I have been pretty content just being on my own.
Fast forward to being a teenager, I ended up getting pregnant very young at age 13. (That is a whole story in itself). Soon after that I started to have the worst anxiety I've ever experienced. I couldn't leave the house without having a panic attack. Everything I did or didn't do brought anxiety. Within a year I became a single mom. I was drowning in depression because of this, but with medication I slowly came out of that spiral. I stayed on SSRIs for a few years after that, before i decided i was sick and tired of being a zombie. So I quit cold turkey and decided I would manage my anxiety and depression with CBD oil....which worked somewhat, but i knew i didn't want to rely on a substance forever. I battled anxiety this way for a couple years. Enough so that I was able to get a job and become financially independent.
I ended up meeting my now husband at said job, and he helped my anxiety tremendously...when we were together; but he traveled for work and it was impossible for him to be my safe haven full time. I kept pushing, mostly with the help of ashwagandha. We had baby #2, 2 1/2 years later. Dealing with postpartum had brought my anxiety back worse than it had been in a long time. I NEEDED something to cope, but i refused meds as it may have ended my breastfeeding journey. So, I kept on with the ashwagandha supplement, and took it one day at a time.
I have always been a spiritual person, who believes in the afterlife, reincarnation, mediums, etc. It all was so interesting to me. I loved learning about it, and meeting people who followed the same path. I loved reading and absorbing information.
Meanwhile, I had started up my tarot business mostly on TikTok at first. In my free time, I would read books on psychic/mediumship development. I was consuming all the information I could because something I couldn't explain was drawing me in. I was just so intrigued, but I didn't know why.
Fast forward a couple months, I decided to start watching Long Island Medium. It's like it was a thought, but it wasn't my thought. It was just something I felt like I had to do. There was one episode where Theresa Caputo said "often times when I'm feeling anxious, it's a spirit trying to come through" and that was BIG to me, because I have always struggled with anxiety.
One day i was holding my baby, standing at the fridge trying to figure out what I would eat for lunch. Out of nowhere, I felt so sick to my stomach, and a wave of anxiety came over me. I had remembered what Theresa said on her show, and I did my best to embrace this feeling and calm my mind and body. The letter B came through my mind. And I said "who's B?" "Broc, Bubby." (Broc is my husband's name). I pondered for a few seconds before I realized that this presence was my husband's brother who passed in a car accident when he was 13. I said "Zachy?" "It's me. Tell Bubby I love him." And that was the moment that changed my entire life.
I want to create some space to make a tribute to Zach. He forever changed everything about my life, and introduced me to the most beautiful gift I never knew I had. Thank you Zachy, you will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts. And I want to thank you, for coming through and making light of this gift.
For the next couple weeks, every free moment I had was taken up by transforming my social media, trying to find people to practice on. Getting the word out to as many people as I could, and learning the signs of my gift so that I could better interpret these messages and use my gift to help people.
My gift comes through as signs, symbols, words, pictures, and feeling in my heart and my body. I spent so much time taking what I could from these readings, and making a list of all the signs and what they mean.
The moment I really realized, wow, this is what I am meant to do; This is my calling, was when a girl I knew from school had seen my facebook post, and decided to message me that she was interested in a reading. The first message that came through was STRONG and strange. I said "the first thing I'm seeing is strange, I'm not sure if you'll understand it but I'm seeing a woman sitting in a recliner, and paintbrushes are being run down her arms." And she said "OMG. My grandmother had OCD, so when we were kids she enjoyed it when we would run things up and down her arms."
So here I am, building what once was a tarot business into a mediumship business as well! I always knew that I had a purpose outside of working for someone else, but I never realized what it was.
Now that I know the REASON for my anxiety all these years, I can finally cope by allowing spirit to relay messages to me. I feel a great amount of relief and peace, knowing that all I have to do to calm my anxiety is listen for these signs from spirit.
I am overjoyed that I found my true calling. I find myself skipping around the house, and smiling more than I ever have.
EVERYONE has the ability to unlock this gift as well. All children are born with the ability to talk to spirit, but its quickly shut down when we are taught by society that it isn't real, or it's scary. I will be sharing all the tips and tricks that I followed myself to unlock my gift. If I can cure anxiety for ONE person, then i will die happy.
Below are links to all my social media where I am sharing my journey and how I unlocked my gift. Stay tuned, and thank you so much for reading if you've made it this far.

@dimensionalspades asked:
"Water with electrolytes, for dehydration." A thermos was set with a straw on the bedside table. "Faster you drink something, the faster I leave you be."
A hand gentle on her temple, the backs of his fingers against her skin. Feverish, but not as bad as it could be.
"I spoke to Winston, he says that it's possible the weapon Talon used could've affected the Accelerator." He held up his other hand, as if to waylay her very reasonable concern. "You're still anchored in time, but according to him it's like your car was filled with the wrong kind of petrol. You'll be sick and disoriented for a while. Too much activity could still end up destabilizing you, so you actually have to rest this time." He brushed a hand through her hair, looking her over again before he set his hands in his lap.
"I'll be here to help you manage symptoms and keep Winston informed. How are you feeling right now? Think you could take a nap?"
It was a blur; the hot asphalt beneath her feet, the wide flank she had taken to draw some of the heat away from the main strike time. Everything had been working, Lena was doing it all right. Until that hot blast that felt as if it were electrocuting her very blood cells, setting her skin alight in hot pinpricks and flayed nerves. The subsequent defeat and arrest of the Talon team, the sound of Angela's worried voice, the feeling of the concrete pressed into her back all felt so far away. Lena knew she was flickering, fading in and out of a time that didn't want her. It was a quick trip home, body solidifying against the flat metal as Mei wrapped Lena's hands in her own.
Have to stay awake.
The thought perversive in her head, knowing that the concentration required to keep her in the timeline was necessary, especially now. How Lena finally fell into Julian's medbay, she wasn't quite sure, but she was grateful for his cold fingers against her sweating forehead. At least the prognosis was good.
"Bein' compared t' a car now?" Lena's quip mumbled soft as her eyes fluttered. She felt awful, as if her very being was rejecting itself. Similar to those days of Time jerking her around, but still not as severe. This, this was manageable.
"Like rubbish. 'aven't felt this terrible in a long time." Lena shivered before brown eyes rolled back up to meet his. "Usually I hate bedrest, but I won't fightcha on it this time, doc. Not looking to visit the cosmos any time soon, thanks."
Her hand caught his, fingers encircling his wrist. "I can try t'nap, yeah. But," Lena took a breath, steeling the pounding in her head to a dull thrum. "D'ya mind staying? Just in case. I've, y'know, faded out before while sleeping an' I don't think I'm up to full snuff. You don't have to watch me the whole time, just make sure I'm not all ghost like, yeah?"

When You're At The Function F***in It UP And Your Man Walks In (Mayans)
Warnings: Implied sexual content, language, fighting
Characters: Angel, Coco, & EZ
A:
Youâre on thin ice as it is sis. The little forest-green dress with the the deep plunge front and slit sides, the one that ended up purchased after your friends hyped you into it. Thatâs supposed to be in the trash according to one Angel Reyes. That, or reserved for private nights in.
Currently, it was wrapped around your form, helping you grab envious/admiring glances from around the room.
Your hips twisted to the layered bass, using the random behind you for stability. Your friend next to you cheered you on, her inner hype man on full display. Thereâs a breakdown in the song, and you lose yourself in the rhythm. Suddenly, you hear a familiar voice telling you âSuperstar mama, say hi for the gram!â.
Your eyes zone in on Gilly, eyes wide. Everyone knew the Mayans rolled deep when they went anywhere. Where there was one, there was the rest. Especially when it came to the three musketeers and their wrangler, EZ.
Like you were busted sneaking back into your room as a teen, you froze. You narrowed your eyes at your friend who shrugged and mouthed sorry before disappearing.
âGilly fuck off!â You hissed, moving away from the random. Your eyes scanning the crowded den.
Gilly laughed, tucking his phone into his kutte. âAyy, donât get mad at me,â he fluttered his eyelashes and fake coughed into his hand. âI donât feel so good baby, Iâm just gonna stay in tonight.â
You narrowed your eyes at his high-pitched mimicry of your last conversation with Angel.
He wasnât even supposed to be there. Your friend swore she nixed all Mayan related invites, just for that night, on your behalf. All you wanted was to be able to turn up like you did pre-relationship. Normally you could at clubhouse parties since Angel trusted everyone there with his life. Any party outside of that was a gamble, and Angel could referee like he got a check for it.
Your eyes finally met said manâs across the party and a chill and went down your spine. Angel was propped against the wall across the way, eyes on you.
The rest of party fell away as you made your way over to him, schooling your features into your âwhat did I do daddy?â pout.
âNah, donât come over with that lip poking now.â He shook his head, speaking when you were in range of him.
âAnd what are you doing wearing this fucking pillowcase out here? What did we talk about?â He pinched the thin strings of your dress.
âNooo, donât be mad. I was walking through my closet and it fell on me. Besides, you liked it when I modeled it for you.â
Angel scoffed, refusing to even entertain your comments. Coco chuckled from his spot next to his friend as he lit a cigarette.
âI thought you had club shit, I didnât even know youâd be here.â You cringed as soon as the words left your lips, the shots youâd taken earlier still putting in work.
âI didnât know youâd be here either. I thought you were sick. Thereâs some soup in the car that thought it was getting dropped off. Apparently wrong thoughts is the theme of the night.â
Petty by Angel Reyes.
âSoup? Baby, thatâs so sweet.â You tried to pet his cheeks, but he was keeping you at bay.
âYou arenât even sick! Imma give that shit to Gilly.â
âNooo.â You whined again, still trying to get him to let you touch him in some way.
âGet that bitch you were dancing with to buy you soup.â It was his turn to pout, but there was fire in his eyes as he tracked the guy youâd been dancing with. âItâs all heâs gonna be able to fucking eat in a minute anyways.â
âSorry I blew up your spot ma, I just wanted to see my plug and get out.â Coco opened the palm of his hand not holding the cigarette and revealed a small bag of weed.
Angel snapped his head towards him, expression incredulous. âDonât apologize to her, she lied to her man! She gave some puto hope! Get on code!â
âI love you hermano, but this is your guard dog-ass fault.â He pointedly ignored his friendâs heated glare as a girl in the doorway caught his interest, slipping away when she positively returned his gaze.
Angelâs attention was claimed by you once again when you pulled his head down towards you. You smothered his cheeks in kisses, to which he was physically unresponsive.
âI donât know if I want you kissing on me querida.â
You rolled your eyes. Petty or not, everyone knew Angelâs life force depleted the longer he went without touching you. Even in your tipsy state you could see his fingers literally twitched with the need to take their rightful place on your hips.
âI just wanted to dance like I used to, and you donât dance. Then you beat down guys who want to. You left me no choice, so let me have kisses.â You locked your arms around his waist, successfully avoiding his half-hearted attempts to push you away.
He scrunched up his face. âHow the fuck am I catching strays in this situation? Iâm the victim!â
âIâll make it up to you later if you stop being a hatinâ wallflower and let me grind on you.â Your hips found the rhythm of the slow wind song thumping through the room.
His hands encircled your throat, drawing you closer to his person. Your pupils blew at his darkened expression, your lower half squirming with interest. He pressed his lips to yours, and the party faded to nothing again. His fingers flexed around your throat before closing just enough for him to draw the subtlest gasp from you. He felt it more than heard it over the noise, but it was enough.
He pulled away, licking his lips as you tried to remember where you were and if sin always tasted so good.
âYouâll make it up to me right now in the traitorâs car.â he held up keys you recognized to be Cocoâs.
You started to protest on principle, but your body was going through withdrawals from a lite touch (for Angel). He could see the wheels turning, but you were letting him lead you out of the room, palm openly covering your ass.
âWho are you texting?â You asked, more annoyed with how his hands were no longer possessively roaming your body than a real answer.
He quickly pocketed his phone and returned his hands to you. âNo one baby.â definitely not telling his boys via group chat to handle the random for him. âStop worrying about anything other than how youâre gonna get around at work tomorrow.â

C:
It was bad enough you couldnât make it to New Orleans due to work, and Old Lady âresponsibilitiesâ, but this petty fight you were in with Coco was the kicker. You couldnât even remember how it started, but it escalated back and forth until you werenât speaking and were back staying at your apartment.
Poor Letty had been reduced to messenger girl, especially now that she had a car. A tug of war with your point being âshe was my girl first, thatâs how we metâ and his point being âsheâs my kid, blood first maâ had broken out. You didnât know what was going to wear through its welcome first, your lack of Coco, or Lettyâs patience, but they were competing. It wasnât like Coco was doing any better if your daily updates from Letty were any indication. He was impatient, tense, chain smoking, and was getting closer and closer to going through with the apology call he was openly fighting.
It wouldnât be long before you were back to getting your back arched out of shape if that was anything to go by. Not a moment too soon if your own miserable habits were anything to go by. You wanted to use the party to distract yourself, hoping Coco would break first the following day. If not, it was sure to be you.
You spent the whole day throwing your frustrations into decorating your best friendâs backyard. It looked like the French Quarter threw up its best years, but it was the perfect backdrop to lose yourself to some bounce music.
Normally, you could goad Coco into being your twerking post, and that resistance (plus his turned on bi-lingual hypeman compliments in your ear) was everything missing at the moment.
You pouted and weaved your way out of the crowd to your friend who was busy playing good hostess.
âAh ah, no whining. If you wanna really make it Mardi Gras, shake your ass on a dude.â
You narrowed your eyes, annoyed she shut down and solved your problem before you could whine about it. âCoco hates that shit! Plus heâs spoiled me, it wonât even be the same.â
âCoco isnât here, and it doesnât have to be the same, it just has to do.â She turned away from where sheâd filled two shot glasses for the two of you. âBesides, we both know your ass is gonna be all in his neck crying about how you miss him tomorrow. Do your thing before you go out sad.â
She clinked shot glasses with you, pleased at her accurate assessment and your sourpuss face.
âFuck you.â You laughed, voice rough from the burn of the shot.
âSave that for Coco.â She smacked your ass, draped one of the many beaded necklaces hanging off her shoulder around your neck, and sent you on your way back to the crowd of writhing bodies.
It was nothing to find dudes to grind on, and you fell into the synergy. You couldnât count how many fast paced songs youâd thrown it back to, or how many guys youâd danced with. The stack of beads youâd acquired gave some idea though.
Meanwhile, Cocoâs skin was alive with the kind of anger he felt. Heâd been seriously contemplating coming to your place and forcing out admissions of how his life wasnât right without you in it. He couldnât remember who or what started it, but it didnât even matter when your scent was starting to fade from his pillow, and his touch starvation was acting up.
All of that went careening out the window when he stumbled upon a pouty Letty, huffing and sucking her teeth at her phone. Turns out you, and âeveryone in the goddamn world but meâ according to Letty, were at your friendâs blowout Mardi Gras party. Coco knew it was your favorite holiday, but it was news to him that you had any plans since you couldnât officially go this year. News he didnât welcome at all, since all of the videos he saw you in you were throwing (his) your ass on multiple dudes. Did you think he wouldnât fight everyone???
He was already on his bike before heâd even registered leaving the house. He sent a quick summoning call in his boyâs group chat, your friendâs address the destination.
The party was louder and wilder than the videos let on. Heâd already spotted his boys by their kuttes, mingling in their respective ways, but didnât seek them out. Theyâd find him if he needed them to. Coco on the other hand, needed to find you.
His eagle eyes picked apart the crowd until he spotted you twisting yourself to the rhythm. Coco didnât know whether to shoot the asshole behind you, or take you away to deal with the feelings you were bringing out of him.
You knew he loved when you brought the South to the West Coast with your hips and ass.
He charged into your space, his hands immediately going for the guyâs arm and snatching him towards him.
âMake a choice cabrĂłn. Get the fuck out, or be an expensive bill and sad memory for your moms by morning.â He pressed his kutte to his person, emphasizing that he was strapped.
The guy raised his palms and quickly exited the scene. Unwilling to test what clearly was a warning that Coco would happily make good on.
You tugged on him, trying to get him to move away from the crowd. Scanning those around you to see who saw or heard, you noticed more than you wouldâve liked. They wouldnât make a fuss, noting his kutte, but still.
âStop it. What are you even doing here?â You hissed, tugging his arm harshly for his attention.
He turned his gaze, wild with adrenaline and arrogance at his victory, on you. âYou shouldâve stopped yourself before throwing it back on random fuckers for the internet. This is on you.â
âNo, this is on you. If you hadnât done what you did or said what you saidâŚâ. You trailed off remembering that you couldnât recall what had happened, just the frustration.
âWhat did I say or do (y/n)?â He noted your visible annoyance that heâd chosen to use your real name instead of a pet name, and with a smirk, he walked you backwards until your back gently hit the fence.
Between not recalling what started the fight, and your man looking amazing, you settled on a pathetic. âYou remember.â
âNo I donât, and neither do you.â that familiar prickle of intensity sparked between the two of you.
Everything between you and Coco felt like a live wire dancing back and forth. High energy moments usually ended in either great sex, or separation (sometimes by the force of your friends) to let things cool down.
âI know youâre gonna catch a case if you keep moving like that Johnny. Is that what you want?â
âNah mujer, that ainât what I want. I want you home where you belong, but youâre out here playing me instead.â Slender fingers tugged sharply at a few of the beaded necklaces in your stack.
You sucked your teeth and turned your head, ignoring the warm cheeks and butterflies in your stomach at his on-brand admission of missing you.
He placed a hand on the fence next to your head, grasping your chin to turn your attention back to him.
âYouâre being a drama queen. I thought I was talking to Angel for a second.â
He threw his head back as laughed, and you got an almost overwhelming urge to kiss him. Or at least bury your fingers in his soft curls, they were begging for it at this po-
âFuck that, heâs still got me beat. Wait til you see the tantrum heâs saving for you for not getting invited tonight.â
âHe was, I just told her to can it because of you. He should be mad at you.â You pouted, but your tone was teasing.
âI could put in a good word for youâŚyou know, if youâre done being petty.â He leaned in, running his lips over the shell of your ear.
âOr I could just offer to throw it back on him to make him forget.â
It was your turn to laugh when Coco tensed, and pulled back from where heâd been teasing you with light touches. You didnât love him no longer touching you, but faltering him made it almost worth it.
âOr you could take me home and we could both forgetâŚâ you clutched at his kutte, leaning into him.
He pulled your hands away by your wrists, his thumbs rubbing over your pulse points.
âNah, if dancing is this fucking important to you, come on then.â He pulled you after him.
âCocooo,â you whined, more interested in getting him to touch you again. âTake me home already.â
âMy lady wants to dance.â He sat on the outdoor wicker couch and patted his lap. âSo dance.â
You stood there in confusion for a second, before what he meant became clear. âIâm not doing that here!â
âYou didnât have an issue earlier, move those hips ma.â He looked between you and his lap again.
Couldâve been the way he was biting his lip, or the laid back way he rested against the couch, but that coupled with lack of access to him, had affirmative words running through your mind.
You playfully rolled your eyes, faking like his request was that expensive. âOnly because I want to get you home, and I know youâll never quit whining if I donât.â
You slipped onto his lap, the action already drawing attention from partygoers just for the potential of what was to come.
He grasped your hips to still you before you started to move, his palm pressing you back to him by your throat. âAnd donât half-ass it yeahâŚor I might do the same when I get you home.â

It wasnât until Creeper hit his shoulder and informed him of how hard he was smiling that EZ realized his cheeks ached. He couldnât help it, he loved watching you dance more than anything.
As soon as you heard a melody you liked, you came alive to it, and stole everyoneâs attention. You could find the beat on anything.
That wasnât his sole reason for cheesing so hard though. Tonight had been the first night you brought your closest friends around the club, and he knew it took great trust in him, his brothers, and your relationship to do that. Your family was on the East Coast, so your friends filled that role for you. Coupled with EZ, they were your world and he thanked you everyday for letting him in.
âGonna stop calling you boy scout if you keep enjoying the show this much.â Creeper took the seat across from him, half blocking his view.
âOh you didnât know how EZ gets down?â Angelâs lips formed that mischievous grin, his eyes taking on the same glint. âYou shouldâve seen him begging me for tales from Angelâs crib.â
âShe and her girls look good out there. Might be too much for you junior.â
EZ rolled his eyes at the ribbing from his brothers, his grin still intact. âAt some point Iâm gonna be patched, Iâm happy to make a cage date for that day. Pretty sure I can take both of you.
Creeper and Angel exchanged exaggerated incredulous expressions.
âSee what happens when you go easy on the help?â Angel scoffed. âYou sound like youâre hurtinâ for work prospect.â
âCould use some more water.â Creeper shook his water bottle at him, just barely missing splashing him.
EZ rose from his seat, empty beer bottle in hand. âJust remember that day is coming.â
Angel and Creeper laughed raucously at that.
âDonât get your ass beat in front of your woman lil bro!â
EZ shook his head, choosing to ignore his dumbass older brother. and tossed his bottle in the trash. Slipping through the moving bodies until he was near you, he gently patted your friend who nodded and stepped from behind you.
You jumped, surprised at his sudden appearance, but settled back against him.
âHey baby.â You gently encouraged him to follow the sway of your hips as he placed his head on your shoulder.
âHey. Iâm back on the slave clock, you want anything?â
You turned to him, his arms instinctively encircling your waist. âHard tea please.â
âI gotta go to the trailer for that, and get the variety hour table over there a drink. Iâll try to be quick.â
âDonât rush, but remember, you owe me a dance.â You cupped his cheeks and pressed a kiss to his lips.
He grinned goofily, his attention solely yours until he felt your girls draping themselves over him.
âCan you get us some too Zeke? Thanks.â âPreciate it Z.â
You giggled pushing them off him, but you knew he didnât mind. You guys were a package deal and heâd take whatever you came with. At least their requests came with pleasantries.
âSure ladies, not a problem. Donât let anyone take her while Iâm gone.â
They laughed, giving affirmative replies while you rolled your eyes pushed him towards the side door.
Once he began his drink fulfillment quest, it was like every brother wanted something from him. It was a full house that night and he shouldâve known once he was no longer under Angelâs break protection, he was back to errand boy status.
Every task he completed was met with teasing about how his rushed pace clearly pointed to him wanting to get back to you. He didnât argue the fact, just moved faster every time you were mentioned.
Finally, he was able to to focus on your request when he stopped being flagged down.
He was heading to the trailer when one of your friends stopped him.
âOne of the other charterâs guys is annoying our girl. She doesnât wanna make a fuss causeâ..you know.â She gestured to his vest to signify his prospect status. âBut I know sheâs not feeling it.â
He could feel the the muscles in his jaw flex in anger, feet carrying him across the crowded yard. People moved before he could plow through them, which was just as well, because he wasnât fully in control at that point, and didnât think he could slow down enough to sidestep them.
The clubhouse had filled considerably since his absence. He scanned the room for you, finding you in a crowd of moving bodies. Your friend was right, you had a good poker face, but your man knew you.
He didnât waste time physically separating you from the Yuma patch member. He gently put you behind his person, feeling your small hands press against his back through his vest.
âIâm good baby. He agreed this was the last dance.â Your voice belied your annoyance despite your words.
âIâm guessing he said that more than once.â
âI donât mind, I know clu-â
Yuma interrupted you. âSee, she doesnât mind. Go find something to do with yourself prospect.â
âIâve got a project in mind.â EZ pushed you back a little more to give himself room to work with.
âBe smart bare vest.â Yuma smirked, his eyes saying how much heâd love for EZ to make the mistake he was thinking about.
In the span of the next few seconds, Yumaâs vest and shirt was covered in beer and Coco had appeared at the same time. If the obvious way he was holding the bottle didnât give away he did it on purpose, his dry âmy badâ and shrug did.
Yuma swung on Coco who anticipated it and dodged it, before firing back with a successful punch of his own. A sea of Mayans of mixed charter filled the space and EZ quickly pushed you behind the bar before he lost you in the shuffle.
Understanding what Coco had done, he got in the middle to give the Yuma patch what heâd been asking for while he was covered by the chaos.
It didnât last long before the presidents stepped in, but it didnât have to. He was happy to take the few licks heâd received, because he was pretty sure heâd broken Yuma patchâs nose, and would get away with it.
His brotherâs words against theirs, and the presidents didnât feel the need to make it a drawn out issue. He pretended to have played bouncer instead of active participant, and it all ended with a basic chewing out.
His only thoughts were of you once his rage had subsided, and he could think clearly again. Had he scared off you and your friends? Embarrassed you?
He was happy to find that hadnât. Your friends couldnât help but fawn over him and how âperfect for youâ he was. He especially enjoyed reveling in the jealousy of Coco, Angel, Gilly, and Creeper. Coco slightly less salty when he got praise for his efforts.
He got his admiration from you later when you patched him up in the trailer, soft voice telling him how sexy he looked to you, and how you appreciated him thinking of you in his position. You held his face and gently went over everything you could find, while he said on his makeshift bed content to let you.
He couldnât stop grinning, the one that always got him mercilessly mocked because it was now associated with him thinking of you.
âSeriously EZ,â you dabbed at the final cut you hadnât attended to. âThank you.â
âI want you to feel safe with me, itâs only fair if you can accept all this shit.â
You grinned down at him, hair framing your face, and he had to remind himself to breathe at the sight. âI do, all the time.â
He cupped the side of your face, unwilling to fight the urge to kiss you any longer.
You laughed speaking between kisses. âIâm not done.â
âItâs ok, Iâm good.â He chased your lips, unashamed to want you so badly.
âOk,â you returned his kisses, your fingers dancing down the nape of his neck. âBut Iâd like to cash in that dance you owe meâŚyou know, before we get too busy.â
He rose to full height, hands finding both of yours. âI can do that.â

1.) I remember seeing a meme vid about this years ago, and finding it hilarious. I could see this happening with these dudes and their personalities. That, and I just really wanted a lil southern culture in a Mayans drabble. đ¤ˇđžââď¸
2.) I did a rewatch of the whole series (including the original), and Iâm back on the obsession train. Just tryna to be happy before S4 kicks my shit in.

Hold him under the stars until you were covered with his smell, and the necklace wouldnât be needed anymore; you could cling onto that memory instead. The urge was so strong that it made your heart physically hurt, knowing that you fell for the one person you shouldnât have. But the heart wants what it wants, right?â

It had been too long since you last saw Hendery.
You two had met so unexpectedly, both trapped in a small coffee shop a couple years ago, drenched to the bone and trying to find cover from the sudden rainfall.
âI was going to ask you if you were willing to share your umbrella, but Iâm guessing you forgot it on the wrong day like meâ, he joked, so you decided to share a table instead. After the fourth time he had you clench your stomach in laughter, out of the sheer willingness to make a stranger like you cheer up, you decided to exchange phone numbers, thus starting what would become a beautiful friendship.
It wasnât easy being an idol. Two promotions in Korea, then a reality show in China, then another comeback. You counted the days, one by one until heâd get to you again. Until youâd finally re-watch his favorite movie with him for the millionth time, just to get to watch him laugh over the same stupid lines.
You werenât sure when you realized you had fallen for him. Maybe it was last winter, almost exactly a year ago when he handed you your Christmas present. He had driven you on a hill on the outskirts of Seoul, the only place he knew with some privacy from prying eyes, and the breathtaking view of the tiny city lights made the freezing cold worth it. You were both sitting against the hood of his car, admiring the big city that seemed to unravel at your feet when you opened the small velvet box.
It revealed a silver necklace of two wings hanging from a dainty chain, with his initials carved on the back of the charm. As you stared at it long enough to make sure you werenât making things up, you couldnât decide which one was more beautiful- the pendant or the stars in Henderyâs eyes as he waited for your reaction.
âItâs symbolicâ, he started explaining, a little embarrassed with how much effort he had put into the gift, âI know Iâm not around a lot to take care of you, but just know that Iâm always there if you need me. Like your guardian angelâ.
He sounded so wholesome while saying it, long bangs covering his eyes that bashfully avoided yours. You wanted to lurch forward at him, tackle him onto the dusty road, and thank him by kissing every inch of his face. Hold him under the stars until you were covered with his smell, and the necklace wouldnât be needed anymore; you could cling onto that memory instead. The urge was so strong that it made your heart physically hurt, knowing that you fell for the one person you shouldnât have. But the heart wants what it wants, right?
Tonight, it was beating as fast as the rhythm of the blinking Christmas lights decorating your living room. How could it not, with Hendery sitting only a few inches away, sharing a blanket with you? He was a few minutes late due to a last-minute photoshoot, but he arrived at your door bare faced and dressed in his favourite flannel shirt. He was just how you liked him, raw and soft and beautiful.
Unlike what you had predicted, he suggested checking out a new romantic comedy on Netflix. It was one of those that come out every Christmas season, all with the same low budget and cheesy acting that ended with some festive spirit that magically solves every plot hole. Two childhood friends, falling in love with each other, yet the girl thinks that the guy is way out of her league so she does nothing about it. The pure irony convinced you that the universe must be surely playing some sick joke on you, forcing you to look at a Hollywood version of yourself getting a happy ending for the next two hours.
âI donât understandâ, Hendery huffs in frustration, midway into the film by now, âwhy doesnât the girl just tell him she likes him? What guy doesnât want to hear that?â
âMaybe sheâs scared of the rejection, or ruining everything-â you start defending the character with a raised voice, realizing that maybe youâre invested in the movie a little too much, âsometimes there is this line between two people, and itâs comfortable to stay behind it because you donât want to lose them in case something goes wrongâ. You draw an invisible line with your index finger between your bodies, and Hendery focuses his stare on it as if it was real. He looks lost in his thoughts, still frozen in place before shaking his head and murmuring: âI guess youâre rightâ.
Your comment, his response, the sex scene playing on the screen. It all made you so painfully alert with his presence that your whole body tensed up and your mouth dried up like it was filled with cotton. You both chuckle in the midst of all the steaminess, as the actor fails to drag his former best friend at the edge of the bed by tagging on her ankle.
âWhat a loserâ, Hendery scoffs mockingly at the characterâs mistake, and you turn around to give him a side eyed glare.
âRelax, muscle man. Like you would do it betterâ
He mocks offense by opening his mouth dramatically, and you giggle at the distortion of his face that still somehow managed to look pretty. It was so cute, how he always wanted to look âstrongâ in the eyes of others, reliable and macho. You didnât care about any of that, you thought his resolutions were stupid. He was perfect in your eyes.
âOf course I would! Iâm strong, look-â
The disaster played out in front of you like a filmstrip. His hands on your ankle, then his own ankle tripping over the blanket on the floor, and finally the feeling of his chest weighing down over your own. With him pressed so close against you, you were sure he must feel the way your heart is thumping, filled with so many emotions that itâs ready to jump out of your body.
The room was cold, but with Henderyâs sudden body heat coating you, you felt like you were on fire. The fleeting thought of you taking off your clothes, to relieve yourself of the suffocating feeling made your cheeks burn even more. Henderyâs neck was exposed just inches in front of you in itâs full glory, and you thought about where those veins on the side of it, visible through his pale skin, ended. Youâd gladly kiss along the path they drew, let your teeth leave little violet blossoms on the way, while youâd make mental notes of what kisses made him react the loudest.
Itâs his bangs tickling your temples that made you realize that he is still on top of you. You look up into his eyes, expecting a frantic look, maybe a string of apologies leaving his mouth. He was strangely serene, staring at your own lips instead, and for a second you thought heâd finally mercy you and give you what you daydream about every time he comes around. Youâd kill for the sight of him with puffy red lips and blown out pupils, messy just for you. Youâd kill for the feeling of his tongue against your own.
When he plants a kiss on your right cheek, right over the corner of your mouth, you think it tastes bittersweet. You were still high on the intimacy when he finally apologizes and rips his body away from yours, your crash back down to reality brutal. The movie was still playing on a high volume, yet all you heard was a deafening silence after his trip. You donât object when he tells you he has to go before you get to see what happens to the couple behind the screen. They were eating you away, all the things you wanted to say to him as you sent him off, so much more than just a âdrive safe, text me when you get homeâ.
Those thirty minutes after you close your front door felt like a lifetime. You replayed the accident over and over again in your head, the skin burning where he kissed you. The thoughts of calling him, telling him to turn around and finish what he started, were so loud that you felt like a crazy person.
You certainly thought you went insane when you heard a knock against your door. Peeking through the peephole, youâre surprised to see that, as if youâd unlocked the secret of manifestation, Hendery was standing once again in your hallway.
âGuanheng? Did you forget anything?â
He looked restless and fidgety as he walked back inside your apartment, like he couldnât wait to let out whatever was on the tip of his tongue. His shoulders were coated in a light layer of snow that had managed to flush his face, and dampen his hair and eyelashes as well.
âNo- well- yes, I-â. He stopped himself mid sentence and sighed, and you let him collect his thoughts. He looked serious, the expression foreign on his usually bright features, yet the way he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration made butterflies fly in your stomach. âWhat did you say about that line between two friends again? When we were watching the movie?â
You blinked back at him in confusion, waiting for him to tell you that heâs joking, he just forgot his charger, and heâll see you again when his company allows him to. But he doesnât, so you start to roll the pendant he gifted you between your thumb and index, trying to calm yourself down.
âIt keeps two people that are meant to be together apart, but there is too much at stake to cross itâ.
You start drawing that invisible line again, the one that separates the miserable comfort of denying your feelings for him and everything you wish you were brave enough to pursue.
He would be brave for the both of you.
Hendery grabs your lifted hand, bringing it on the side of his neck before he crashes his lips against yours. You donât hesitate in kissing him back, hungry for his lips that taste as sweet as you imagined them to. He hasnât realized how impossibly close to his body he has brought you, not until his embrace gets so tight that your necklace pokes uncomfortably against his chest.
You suck on his bottom lip and he welcomes you with his tongue, the kiss getting so heated now that you canât help but tug on his hair to keep you grounded. Shivering from your action, his hands are now sliding from your hips to your waist, following the curves of your body until he reaches the underside of your breasts. You mewl against his lips as his thumbs dig into their softness, discreetly trying to cop a feel through your cotton shirt.
A moan leaves your mouth, lewd and desperate as he swallows it with a kiss, and he rips himself off of you when it seems to reach his stomach. He looks disheveled, as if he woke up from an intense, lucid dream; panting, sweating, staring at you with those big puppy eyes.
âWe- we shouldnât. We are going too fast, right?â You nod in agreement at his question but youâre not really listening. You had your fingertips placed on his moving lips, and he identifies the metallic smell as the remnants of you fidgeting with your jewelry earlier. âI should take you to dinner first, to that one place you like so muchâ. Losing interest in what he is saying, the words being too distant and grey when he stood so deliciously in front of you, you mindlessly start to unbutton his shirt, fascinated with that mole over his collarbone and wanting to see more.
The fire your fingers spread against his skin, in the midst of the chilliness of your living room has him groaning under his breath, with a voice as low and sexy as in his good morning calls. You can practically see him throw all his inhibitions out the window when he kisses you again, pushing you with his body until your back finds the nearest wall. Henderyâs hands are far from gentle now, leaving bruises behind all the soft spots he kneads with his fingers.
âI want youâ, you confess with a whisper as you rid him off his flannel for good, and you canât stop yourself from tracing all the lines of his toned abdomen. You can feel his heart thumping loudly in his chest, its fast rhythm matching yours. You grab his hand to lead him to the carpet next to the Christmas tree that is blinking along with the lights that adorn it- youâre too impatient in your arousal to take him to your bedroom and he doesnât protest.
Hendery lays you on your back, finding his place between your legs as you wrap them around his waist to bring him closer. You remove your hoodie and the sports bra you had on, his lips immediately latching onto one of your nipples. He circles his tongue around the bud, licking and sucking on it interchangeably until youâre a begging mess underneath him.
Tugging on the elastic band of his sweats, you urge him to get naked for you completely, and he removes the extra garments with a strong pull. His sex bouces out of its cotton constraint, red and throbbing and aching for you. It makes the heat thatâs pooling on your lower stomach spread even further, and you wiggle your hips to remove your sweatpants as well.
Thereâs something about the frilly pink panties youâre wearing- the innocent design on your shapely body that ignites a carnal instinct in him. He wants to ruin you, mark you, make you his. The sound of fabric getting ripped has your eyes bulge out in shock. Youâve never seen Hendery so determined.
He falls on top of you again, leaving urgent kisses on your jawline as he rubs his hard member against your heat. Itâs driving you insane, how heâs so close to where you want him but not quite there yet, and you tug his hair again to make him look at you.
âI wanna feel you rawâ
And raw was how heâd give it to you. You feel his warm hand over your stomach, keeping you in place as he aligns himself with your entrance, and the pressure his tipâs already feeling has him cursing out.
âYou have no idea how long Iâve been waiting for thisâ
He dips himself slowly into your pussy, careful not to stretch you uncomfortably much. His worried eyes are glued to your wide ones, reading your expressions to ensure theyâre those of pleasure. And indeed they are, your eyes rolling to the back of your head when he bottoms out fully, a symphony of both your moans filling the room.
He starts out with a steady rhythm, your pussy adjusting to his size with every calculated thrust. Youâre getting drunk with the intimacy, with his smell that sticks to your skin and the sweet nothings he whispers in your ear. You feel addicted to it already, to the feeling of having him be a part of you, and as his growing desperation has him picking up his pace, yours makes you wish you could live in that moment forever.
âI donât think Iâll last much longerâ
âNeither do Iâ
He can tell how close you are, your heaving chest and guttural sounds giving you away. His cold fingers find your clit then, rubbing your sensitivity in messy circles and pumping more blood to the area.
âYes, baby. Let go for meâ
Little stars of various colors dance around in your vision, framing the sight of Hendery fucking into you so beautifully. You enjoy the hypersensitivity that the continuing motion of his hips gives you, locking your legs around his waist as his thrusts turn sloppy.
âCome inside meâ
Just those simple words, slipping out of your pretty mouth are enough to send him over the edge, grunting as he paints your walls in ropes of white. You feel him twitching inside you for a good while, your belly bulging in fullness. It drips out of you slowly when he finally gets off of you, his hands spreading your thighs apart so that he can admire his creation.
He chuckles in disbelief of what you two just did, removing a piece of fake snow that somehow landed on your hair. You can only admire the way his Adam's apple bobs up and down, all the little curves and shadows on his neck, his smile that gives you tunnel vision.
âAll this timeâŚâ, he whispers softly, âyou liked me too?â
You silently winced at the naiveness of his words, knowing damn well your feelings ran way deeper than a simple attraction. Nodding affirmatively, you avoid looking at his eyes by pretending to play with his fingers. You canât let him see the way they have glossed up, yet the numbing feeling of disappointment is getting hard to ignore.
He doesnât let you distance yourself from him further, lifting your chin up so you can make eye contact with him again. To your surprise, he looks way more nervous than you, subconsciously nibbling on his lower lip. He takes a deep breath, mustering up some courage before verbally letting his thoughts out of his chest.
âWhat if I told you I am in love with you?â
You were shocked at the confession, so much so that this reality seemed like a figment of your subconscious mind. You expected to wake up at any moment, to find yourself asleep on your couch, two feet away from him and still stuck in the sucky friendzone. But that moment never came, no matter how long you held your breath to trigger your awakening, and you let it go with a sigh and a blurb of your own thoughts.
âIâd ask you to be mineâ

Dirty Little Secret | Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It's midnight PST which means I'm so far past the deadline for @footballffbarbiex's Summer Writing Challenge but I don't really care. Please enjoy the millionth version of 'sneaking around with a rival' but with DCL. This one's for the babes: @sweetlikesugar9 @dclsbaby @domspeach
Word Count: 3,610
Warnings: light mentions of smut, sneaking around
- - -
Your phone felt heavy in your pocket. You wanted so badly to pull it out and reread the text youâd been sent an hour ago, but then Jordan would be suspicious and you didnât want to try to cobble together some half-assed explanation that would ultimately end in disaster.
âAre you listening to me?â Jordan asked, huffing your name in frustration. âI swear, youâve been spacy for the last week. Whatâs wrong?â
âNothing,â you lied, rolling your eyes. Jordan gave you a disbelieving look, so you elaborated, âWork has been kicking my ass and Iâm annoyed, okay? I know itâll pass, but Iâd just like it if you let me handle it on my own.â
Jordanâs face softened. âIâm sorry. And I wonât, alright?â When you nodded, he continued, âBut you know that if you ever need me to step in and use my name, I will.â
âI know,â you said, giving him a teary-eyed smile. âYou know how much I donât want that, but if it comes down to it, Iâll let you know.â
âItâs just...youâre my little sister, and I worry about you.â Jordan wrapped his arms around your shoulders and pulled you into a hug.
âYeah, yeah - I appreciate it.â You paused, finally remembering the conversation from earlier. âWait, you were saying something about England?â
Jordan smiled, launching into the conversation. âI just got the call from Southgate today. He told me Iâll be part of this upcoming England squad.â
âWhat?! Jordan, thatâs incredible!â You squealed, wrapping him up in a tight hug. âIâm so proud of you!â
âThanks. I was hoping Iâd get the call-up, but with each camp, you never know. And I get older every year and-â
âI donât wanna hear it,â you scoffed, waving him off. âYouâve done so much for the club and you deserve this. Take the win and move on.â
âI hate it when youâre right, you know.â
You giggled, shoving him playfully. âIt feels weird to be the one dispensing life advice to my older brother, so donât worry, itâs just as weird for me, too.â
You left Jordanâs place a little while later, promising to help him plan an England get-together once the rest of the squad was announced.
Once you were back home, you finally pulled up the text youâd been both excited for and dreading about replying to.
Dominic: When can I see you again?
Just as you started typing, the three dots on his end popped up and you couldnât help the rush of excitement that pooled in your belly when his latest text came through.
Dominic: I just got good news. Come over and celebrate?
You: Iâm on my way
***
The moment Dom opened his front door, his lips were on yours. He pinned you against the door, kissing you hungrily as his hands slid up your shirt. You moaned into his mouth, loving the way his body fit against yours as he swallowed the sound.
âWhatâŚâ Your thought was cut off as Dom sucked on the sensitive spot on your neck. âWhat was the good news?âu
âLater,â Dom hummed, nibbling on your earlobe. âI wanna celebrate first.â
âThat doesnât make any sense!â You giggled, the sound quickly turning to a breathy whimper as one of Domâs hands slid between your legs. âFuck, Dom! It makes sense - please just take me to bed.â
Dom smirked, grabbing your hand and leading you to the bedroom. He threw you down on the bed, kneeling between your legs as he started to undress you. It had only been a little over a month since the two of you started sleeping together, but neither of you could get enough of each other.
Your name was on his lips as he sucked a mark into your hip, watching as you dug your heels into the mattress while he kissed his way up your inner thighs before sucking on your clit and making you cry out. âYouâre always so responsive for me,â he praised, chuckling as he slid two fingers inside you. So sexy.â
âPlease, Dom!â You whimpered, burying your fingers in his curls. âPlease make me cum already!â
He responded to your pleas, flipping you over onto your stomach and driving his cock into you. One hand was around your throat, the other smacking your ass as pure filth spewed from his mouth with every thrust. Dom made you feel dirty in the best possible ways and it wasnât long before you were cumming around his cock, feeling his cum coat your inner walls as he released his own orgasm inside you.
âSo, whatâs the news?â You asked as you cuddled with Dom, your head on your chest with one hand tracing patterns across his forearm.
âI canât believe I almost forgot - I got called up to the England squad for this upcoming run of matches.â
He said it so casually that you almost didnât register what heâd said. âWait, what?â
âI got another call-up!â
Your stomach bottomed out and you thought you were gonna be sick. âDom, thatâs amazing!â You said, hoping he didnât notice how preoccupied you sounded.
âThank you!â He pressed a kiss to your forehead, a much more intimate gesture than the two of you usually did, but you didnât question it. âYouâll come see me play, right?â
âOf course,â you promised, hoping you sounded sincere.
When he drifted off to sleep, you were still up, your mind racing as you tried to figure out how you were going to tell Dom that you were Jordan Hendersonâs baby sister.
***
Anfield. Last Spring.
You flashed your Friends and Family pass to the staff, feeling a bit awkward as you looked for Rebecca and the kids. It wasnât often that you used the ticket Jordan purchased, preferring the season tickets youâd gotten with friends ages ago on the off-chance you were recognized. The only time you did was for Derby matches, and today was no exception; the âHenderson 14â burning a hole in your back as you took your seat.
The whistle blew and the match began. You were as nervous as you always were during Derby matches, your heart in your throat every time Jordan got the ball. You were always worried something would happen to him on the pitch, what with the countless injuries heâd had over the years.
You cheered along with the rest of the spectators when Mo put one in the back of Pickfordâs net a couple minutes outside of the 20th. Richarlison scored moments before the end of the first half, tying it up before the start of the second.
There was a penalty call early on in the second half and your heart stopped as you watched Jordan step up to take it. He hadnât been in good form to take a pen all season, having missed three of his four pens so far, and you peeked through your fingers, hoping the ball would slot right into the back of the net.
...
It didnât.
It didnât, and you were devastated. Suddenly, you didnât want to be wearing your brotherâs jersey anymore. You felt sick as all the friends and family of your brotherâs teammates gave you sympathetic pats and hugs while the match wore on.
When Mo scored his second of the night, you screamed until you were hoarse. It wasnât long after that and the final whistle was blowing and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Liverpool. You hugged Jordan tightly when he finally appeared, giving him a small smile. âSorry about your pen.â
He stiffened and you instantly knew youâd hit a nerve. Sometimes, he was able to laugh these things off, but tonight apparently wasnât one of those nights. âFuck off.â
âYouâll get the next one, Iâm sure.â You winced internally as the words came out of your mouth and Jordanâs expression darkened.
Your name was an angry growl on his lips as he said, âIf youâre trying to make me feel better, just donât. I donât need your sunshine and rainbows opinion - if I want it, Iâll ask, got it?â
His condescending tone ignited your own nerve and you got in his face. âGo to hell, Jordan,â you hissed, your eyes involuntarily welling with tears at the angry confrontation. You turned on your heel and stormed off, ignoring Rebeccaâs pleas for you to come back.
You sat in your car, waiting for the tears to subside. It wasnât often that you fought with him, and to make matters worse, youâd been staying with him for a bit while you looked for a place of your own, so you couldnât even avoid him at home.
Instead of going home, you headed to your favourite pub. It was low key, and you knew there probably wouldnât be too many people in there so you could drink in peace. You changed out of the jersey, throwing on a t-shirt you found in the backseat of your car, not wanting to draw any more attention to yourself than usual.
âCan I buy the next?â A manâs voice asked, and you turned to find Dominic Calvert-Lewin sitting on the barstool next to yours.
âSure,â you said, giving him a small smile. âAs long as you let me buy the one after that.â
âYouâve heard, I take it?â Dom gave you a sheepish smile, ducking his head and looking away.
âI was there. Thought you had it for a minute there when that pen didnât go in.â
âMe, too. I had a couple good shots in there, but none of them ended up going in.â
âI saw.â Dom gave you a look at your comment and the two of you burst into giggles. âSorry, I just had to say it.â
âClearly, you know who I am,â he started, his gaze raking over your body. âCan I at least get your name? You look so familiar...â
You debated giving him your middle name or a fake name altogether, but ultimately gave him your real name, conveniently leaving out your surname. He rewarded you with a full-blown smile that you felt all the way down to your toes; a smile that made you think about what it would be like to kiss those lips.
A couple hours later, and you didnât have to wonder what it felt like to kiss him. His lips were on yours in the back of the Uber as the two of you headed back to his place. Another hour after that, and you were discovering all the other things his mouth and hands could do, loving the way his body felt against yours.
When you left in the morning, you felt like you had a secret that was only yours to keep - and Domâs, of course - but this was you sticking it to your brother by sleeping with one of his rival clubâs players while also getting some much-needed sex.
A week later, you were grinning down at your phone as you read Domâs latest text.
Dom: So, when can I see you again?
***
Jordanâs House, Present Day
âWeâve got everything we need, right?â Jordan asked, frantically looking around his kitchen. The counter was fully-stocked with all the alcohol he could possibly need, there was enough food to feed an army, and everything was as it should be.
âYes,â Rebecca confirmed, wrapping her arms around him and giving him a kiss. You shut your eyes and made a face, still not used to seeing your brother be intimate with his wife. âEverythingâs going to be great. The team should be arriving in about an hour, so donât go too crazy waiting for them, okay?â
Jordan nodded and you laughed, knowing he wouldnât be able to do that. âWell, if neither of you need me, Iâm gonna go nap in the guest room,â you announced. âWake me if I sleep through my alarm?â
âSure.â
You went up to the guest room, setting your alarm to give yourself half an hour to get ready for the party.
***
The party was on by the time Dom walked through the door. Someone put a beer in his hands and he made the rounds, catching up with players he hadnât called teammates since the last call-up.
âHey!â Hendo shouted, waving at Dom from his lounge chair by the pool. âCalvert-Lewin, as I live and breathe. How are you?â
Dom brought it in for a hug, laughing. âIâm good, Iâm good.â
âIâd ask how youâre coping with losing to us yet again in the Derby, but Iâm sure you had no problem finding some willing girl to console you.â
âNow that you mention it, Iâve been seeing this girl for a few months now. Hooked up with her the night we lost to you and havenât really looked back.â
âGood for you. She coming to the matches?â
Dom shrugged. âNot sure yet. Havenât really done much talking, if you know what I mean.â
Hendo smirked. âNice.â
Just as Dom was about to say more, Rebecca came running over. âJordan, have you seen your sister? I think weâre running out of drinks and she said sheâd run to the store if we needed her to and well, we need her to.â
âIs she not up from her nap?â Hendo asked, his brows furrowing when Rebecca shrugged. âOkay, can you go see if sheâs awake? Iâve kind of got my hands full.â
âYeah, I-â
âMummy!â One of the kids ran up to Rebecca, drawing her attention away. âDom! Good to see you! Can you go wake my sister-in-law?â
âSure. Where is she?â
Hendo gave him directions and Dom was off, searching for the guest bedroom.
âHello?â He asked, lightly knocking on the closed door. When he got no response, he turned the handle and opened the door. âHendoâs sister?â
***
Shit. Youâd slept through your alarm and now someone was waking you up. And to make matters worse, they were calling you âHendoâs sisterâ. âWhat?â You asked groggily, shifting.
âYour brother needs you.â
The voice sounded familiar but you were too tired to figure out why. âOkay. Can you turn on the light?â The sound of the switch being flipped and the light hit you. âOh, fuck, thatâs bright!â You covered your eyes, blinking rapidly to try to get used to the light.
You heard your name being whispered incredulously and you realized it was Dom standing in front of you.
***
Dom couldnât believe it. Here you were, standing - well, technically sitting in bed - in front of him and you turned out to be Jordan Hendersonâs little sister. âYouâreâŚâ He trailed off, unable to say the words.
âYeah.â You looked down at your hands, not wanting to see the look on his face. âJordan Henderson is my older brother.â You heard the door shut and you looked up, not expecting him to still be standing in front of you.
âWhy didn't you tell me?â Dom asked, his expression blank as he crossed his arm and leaned against the door. âYouâve had plenty of chances to tell me and you havenât. Why?â
âI just⌠I donât know.â You sighed, looking up at the ceiling as you struggled to find composure. âEverybody treats me differently when they find out who my brother is, so I donât exactly go around telling everyone I meet that my brother is⌠who he is.â
âBut weâre sleeping together! Hell, Iâve got you in my bed more than half the nights of the week and you still didnât think to tell me?!â
âDom!â You hissed, fear coursing through your veins. You didnât want anyone to overhear him even though you knew they were probably too busy with the party. âI didnât think to tell you because I didnât think we were that serious!â
Dom looked furious. His jaw clenched and he stormed over to you, kneeling on the bed and taking your face in his hands. He kissed you hard, pinning you underneath him and all you could do was loop your arms around his neck and kiss him with everything you had. âHowâs that for serious?â He asked, breathing heavily as he pressed his forehead against yours. âIâm here, kissing you in your brotherâs house where anyone could discover us, and you donât think Iâm serious.â
âI-I get it now,â you stuttered, smiling at him. âCan we just wait a little while before we tell Jordan about us?â
âJust as long as we tell him before we have to go back to being rivals, okay?â
âOkay.â You gave him one last kiss. âNow youâre really gonna have to leave because Iâm pretty sure Jordan didnât send you here to come into the guest room and kiss me senseless.â
Dom chuckled at that. âHe definitely didnât. Pretty sure Rebecca was saying something about needing you to run and grab more alcohol, too? But the point is that we need to get you out of this bed and to the right people.â
***
You couldnât stop staring at him. Dom was right across the room, chatting it up with Rice and Mount, laughing with the two footballers. He caught your gaze, giving you a subtle wink before turning back to say something to Rice. You watched him pull his phone out, your own vibrating in your back pocket moments later.
Dom: Meet me in the guest bedroom⌠Five minutes
You tried to keep the smile off your face, but it was impossible. âWhoâs the guy?â Came Rebeccaâs voice over your shoulder.
You gasped, hoping she didnât see Domâs name at the top of the contacts list before you shut it off. âUh, nobody? Just a guy Iâm sleeping with.â
Rebecca gave you a look. âJust a guy?â She rolled her eyes. âNot with that lovey-dovey look in your eyes, heâs not.â
âOkay, fine,â you sighed. âHeâs not just a guy, but Iâm not ready to introduce him to you and Jordan, okay? Heâs just...not someone I would usually date and I donât want Jordan to lose his shit, especially with these matches coming up.â
âI see,â Rebecca said wisely, giving you a knowing look. âJust donât wait too long, because Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks like the kind of man who wonât wait around forever.â
âHow did you-?â You asked, incredulous. âNevermind, I donât wanna know.â
Rebecca laughed. âDonât worry - I wonât tell Jordan. Thatâs something youâve gotta do.â
***
Two Weeks Later
âWe canât keep doing this,â Dom murmured in-between kisses in one of the empty rooms of Wembley. âTomorrowâs the last match in this run of friendlies and I wanna catch Hendo on his good side when the two of us arenât rivals.â
You giggled, the sound morphing into a moan as he kissed your neck. âAfter the match tomorrow, okay? I promise.â
Dom pulled away, a serious look on his face. âIâm serious. If you donât tell him after the match tomorrow, Iâm not sure Iâll be able to continue this.â
The pit of dread grew in your stomach. You wanted to tell Jordan but youâd never shown an interest in or dated any footballers before, let alone one of his rivals. It was going to be hard to convince him that you were serious about Dom, and for the first time, you realized you were serious about him.
~~~
The day of the match, you were in the stands in your âHenderson 8â kit. The âCalvert-Lewin 18â was underneath, your body tense with the anticipation - fear? - of telling your brother that you and Dom were seeing each other.
All your nerves went out the window the moment Dom came on and scored after less than five minutes of being on the pitch. You were on your feet with the rest of the stadium, cheering on your man as he celebrated with your brother.
The friendly ended Englandâs way and you were celebrating it like theyâd won the World Cup. Without a second thought, you launched yourself into Domâs arms, both of you giddy as he spun you around before setting you down on the ground and kissing you breathless.
âWhat the hell?!â Came Jordanâs voice, snapping you and Dom out of your own little world.
âJordan, itâs-â you started, but your brother was furious.
âNo, I donât wanna hear it. The two of you?!â He glared at Dom. âAt my party, were you talking about my sister? To me?! Youâve got some nerve, Dominic.â
Dom held up his hands. âI didnât know she was your sister at the time, I swear!â
âItâs true: he didnât,â you backed up your man, threading your fingers through his in a nonverbal show of support. âI knew who he was when I started sleeping with him, but he didnât know who I was.â
Jordan rolled his eyes. âI donât know what I hate more: that thatâs actually believable or that Iâm starting to be okay with this.â
âReally?â You asked, your eyes wide. You and Dom shared a look.
âDonât get me wrong, Iâm not going to completely love this - at least not for a year or more - but you better not hurt her, Dominic. Iâm serious.â
Dom squeezed your hand, nodding with a serious expression. âYes, sir.â
You held back your giggle at Domâs response, not wanting to ruin your brotherâs good mood. You let go of Domâs hand to go over and hug Jordan, a bright smile on your face. âThank you!â
âDonât thank me; just make sure he doesnât hurt you so I donât have to hurt him.â
An hour later when you met Dom, you couldnât stop smiling, making sure to stop in front of Wembley to kiss him one more time before he took you out on a proper date in public.
~ Series Masterlist ~
2 Years Earlier
-Â If Jeon Jungkook where so esoterically inclined, he would write a book on how he had become the most dangerous man in the underworld. It would be a short book though; because Jungkook had only 2 rules for himself. The first was to always get up after heâd been hit during a fight (even if it took him a second) and the second was to know when to mind his own business.Â
- Jungkook was always able to get up after being hit, Even when heâd been a street kid, with not a penny to his name and a whole lot of anger in his mouth. ready to spit vitriol at anyone who would pause and listen. Heâd always been able to get up. The pain giving him a kind of sick clarity that he eventually sought out instead of tried to escape. Jungkook could never think as clearly as he did during a fight; or when he was in pain. And that was probably because of his father.Â
- But whatever. That man was 6 feet under, (his mother on the other hand- no- that bitch certainly had more than one dept to pay still). He didnât have a lot of time or energy to put into dealing with that particular trauma (why he honestly felt like sometimes- he liked being hit). Most of his energy went into staying alive. Even now- when living and surviving teetered on the same edge. Jungkook had more pressing matters to tend to than dealing with his own fragile mind.Â
- The way he would get up and hop around for a second to soak in the clarity after being hit during a scuffle was one of the reasons why heâd been given his street name: The Playboy Bunny; further set in stone with his tattoo of the same moniker under his left eye. A cheekbone heâd tap and say âyou want to hit me? why donât you try your luck and see how well it turns out for you.âÂ
- He was doing reconnaissance, Sneaking around the back alley with his hood up and his glasses on- disguising his black eye that was sure to get more than a few looks from passers-by. The ears of the playboy bunny tattoo peeking out over the top of his mask.Â
- He keeps his eyes on the crowd waiting for some sort of handoff- to see anything at all. But heâd lost his target through the crowd and has no drive to find them in the dizzying rush of people and umbrellas. Not yet. Not when the hum of addiction lurks in his veins.Â
- Jungkook pauses lighting a cigarette, when a commotion to the side hidden around a corner- blurs his concentration. The world snapping back into focus when he sinks his fingernails into his palm. Terse voices. A couple fighting in the alleyway perpendicular to his.Â
- Minding his own business was a particular skill of his- it took one kind of person to know when to step in, and another to know which problems weren't worth the headache. And unless it involved the acquisition money or some step therein, it wasnât a problem worth getting into in Jungkookâs opinion.
- But Jungkook canât stop his ears from hearing snippets of conversation, a low and angry male voice. The sound of a smack. âYou just had to embarrass me like that, didnât you? First, you come out dressed like a slob and then you act like a fucking whore- I swear if I see you give eyes to another man this week I'll beat you five ways to Sundayâ
- The sound of a soft female voice, so quiet- almost indistinguishable from the pouring rain, âI wasnât-â another smack.
- Jungkook has been hit so many times he knows the sound of it, the ragged gasp the woman lets out, also quite- like even the pain takes up too much space.Â
- His body starts to move before his mind thinks it through as he gives up position in favor of investigating the noise. There he sees it, ivy growing up the wall next to the back exit of some restaurant. A woman, small crouching in front of a grotesque man. A baggy coat buttoned tight around her small form. hair swept back in a tight bun. Red lipstick smudged. Though you check your hands and think its blood for a moment before you remember youâre wearing it.Â
- Jungkook waits for a moment before he watches you stand on shaky legs. you get up.Â
- The rest of the underworld might be old grudges and blood feuds but Jungkook was only here to be a businessman. He didnât have time for ego and arrogance, let alone time for altruism...Â
- Usually.Â
- He looks on for a moment, too sluggish without nicotine, but Jungkookâs lingering stare almost seems to spur the man on. Heâs wearing a jacket with a military patch, a badge; some sort of congratulation for service done no doubt. and Jungkook feels his distaste for the man deepen.Â
- âWhat you looking at punk?â he slurs. Stalking forward as if to shove Jungkook. He almost wants to tut- that would be an expensive action. Jungkook wonders if the man is maybe high or drunk or both. Heâs has had his fair share of experience with junkies and he knows one when he sees one.Â
- âNothing, just a pig beating his girlfriend.â The man settles for shoving Jungkook back. And Jungkook lets him. You donât look up, donât do anything but lean to the side, like the brick wall is the only thing keeping you up. Jungkook sees the back of your hand, black and blue, the other bruises on your neck. You only make eye contact with him once. Just slightly. Barely in passing. Â
- You look like Jungkook used to look. He remembers in the savage bite of an open-handed slap- the fear he sees in your eyes. He looks and looks. And it aches so viscerally as Jungkook watches you go, your hurt echoes through him. You look beaten down and broken like Jungkook used too; before heâd decided he was done taking punches from people who were supposed to love him- Were supposed to care.Â
- (Before he realized life wasn't supposed to hurt)Â
- Heâs never been one to feel things for other people, the empathy sparing him through most of the suffering heâs seen. Itâs not that heâs unfeeling; itâs just that Jungkookâs life has forced him to feel concerned only for himself and no one else. His own survival is his first priority; Not others.Â
- He watches you walk away, And you donât look back at him. Rushing to keep up with your husband's steps. He waits until you disappear into the crowd before he lifts his phone to his ear and makes a call. âHey, I need you to flag all of the cars that leave the parking lot, theyâre just a couple, should be coming to you soon.â
- Jeon Jungkook had become the most powerful man in the underworld because of two reasons; by being able to take punches, and by knowing when to mind his own business.Â
- But For this, Jungkook thinks he can make an exception.
- (You won't remember meeting Jeon Jungkook, but Jungkook will always remember you).
Now
-It comes as no surprise that your little speech fades after a few days and the rest of the hybrids quick to return to treating Yoongi with a mix of disdain and fear. Though mostly- this seems to be caused by Minhyung's group and the other canine hybrids. Namjoon hears them whispering about âfavoritismâ before they catch on that heâs listening in. And in the days following your impromptu departure from the farm, you find people quiet even further whenever Yoongi's brought up. Staring when Yoongi comes close, afraid to interact with him.
- Even Jimin is greeted mostly with silence from all but a few. The bunny hybrids donât act so skittish anymore, and the cat hybrids could care less used to sticking to their own group. Taehyung seems to have encouraged the other bear hybrids to make an actual effort and they at least say hello now. Itâs better than the derisive comments of the dog hybrids, or the snooty noses stuck high in the air of the dear hybrids and other exotic breeds.Â
- They know Jimin is close to Yoongi and Namjoon, and now he feels even more like an outsider that before (somehow it doesn't matter as much as before). The only ones who donât act overtly different are the new hybrids; Hoseok and the small lion hybrid. but They were never around to learn how to hate Yoongi in the first place.
- it's a little cute- the way that Hoseok will always shout Yoongi's name in greeting (though you're unsure if that's just his personality now that he's started to grow into himself). Hoseok is unbothered by Yoongi's reaction; to shy away from anything that will draw more attention to himself. But Hoseok's smile is so bright and elastic that even he has a hard time ignoring the otter hybrid. You hope there will be a friendship there eventually, that yoongi will open up to more than just your group.Â
- The little lion kit is a new addition too, she's not the only young feline hybrid you have at the farm but she is the friendliest. She gets pretty close to the other cats that work in the kitchen almost instantly. Probably on account of her young age (she's barely 7) and the eldest cat hybrid seems to be particularly fond of the little one.
- She's curious and kind to Yoongi too- excitedly running up to him more than once to show him a little rock or some flower she found- and yoongi will marvel and nod, and if Jimin is near- he'll lean close and tell her how pretty it is.Â
- She doesn't seem at all deterred by Yoongi's lack of voice. one day she even sees Jimin, her ears perking up excitedly, tail swishing. "Hello Yoonies voice!" it's a little cute- even if it does make yoongi splutter a little. But she's not exactly wrong; Jimin does talk for yoongi more these days.Â
- She Always comes bounding up to you and giggling happily to be picked up. Her little legs stretching around your waist, small bottom sat atop your baby bump. Making you get the kind of look that makes Namjoon, Yoongi, and Jimin sigh and look impossibly fond. They can only imagine what youâre going to be like once your little one is born. Your due date is barely 2 months away.
- In truth- youâre starting to get a little bit big. You say it one morning with Namjoon. After he asks you why youâre looking into the mirror with such a displeased expression. The sound of your terse voices alerts Yoongi and he comes to the door to your bedroom to witness your spat. Making a flippant hand movement at Namjoon to back off. Namjoon could smell your distress on you when you looked in the mirror, his voice tense but breaking. âBaby just tell me, why you think youâre not beautiful like that? let me understand. Cuz to me- you look more irresistible every day.â
- Itâs not that you exactly wanted him to agree with you that you were nearing the size of a whale- but this doesnât help at all either. His unending insistence- doesnât he see? when he looks in the mirror doesnât he see what you do? His instance that everything is alright doesn't help when youâre feeling this self-conscious.
- Yoongi helps you, fiddling with Namjoonâs closet for a second before he pulls out an extra-large white shirt of his and helps you into it- tying it loosely over your baby bump so that it flatters your waist a little more. The attention that Yoongi shows you clearly making you flustered. Then he drags you to the mirror, tugging your hair out of its bun, the tension going out of your shoulders.
- Yoongi doesnât know it, but Namjoon does. Your late husband used to always be so particular about your hair, yanking on it harshly if it was left down. and An easy way to avoid him yanking on it was to leave it up. And sometimes you still pull it up convinced itâs safer even though heâs dead and gone. Itâs scary how simple it is- but the second your hair comes down your whole body relaxes.
- All the while Namjoon watches from your bed. And you take in yourself, the baby hairs free-floating against your forehead; Yoongi curls one gently around his finger and then lets it go. You take in the way that the fabric hangs now, making you look a little more proportional, Yoongi gives you a satisfied smile behind your back and you have to sigh and admit it. âOkay- okay- Iâll give you this- Iâm not a whaleâ
- âAnd even if you where youâd be a pretty whale.â Yoongi has the good sense to hurl a pillow in Namjoonâs direction, but it makes you laugh all the same- the heaviness in your chest abated a little. Your sleeve brushing Yoongiâs as you head downstairs, Namjoon trailing behind.
- The beach trip was a nice distraction from chores but the real work comes crashing down on them the next few days. Your little group feels closer than ever, you rarely part from any of them for long and their intention, their little acts of care never fail to make you feel flustered and taken care of.
- Jimin always holds out a hand for you to take when youâre stepping over uneven ground, Yoongi makes a startled noise whenever you so much as get close to a hose that might trip you, always gesturing for you to pause and take a break whenever youâre working in the garden. Namjoon too, always running back and forth from whatever project heâs working on to check on you and make sure you have water or food.
- At night, Namjoon takes your stretch mark cream from you, rubbing down your baby bump and your hips, the little lines of lighter skin on your waist get little kisses from him. Â
- Even if you want just a snack, Namjoon and Yoongi will bring you a full meal- convinced that you need to be eating more than you are. At dinner Yoongi fills up your plate- piling it high with more food then you could fit in your already crowded tummy. And he always eyes you suspiciously when you canât finish the full plate. Namjoon too will level you with a look- asking if you really are full.Â
- Since your pregnancy has progressed, youâve become a little moodier, and a little hornier whenever way the wind blows. And Namjoon doesnât help that much at all- and by that you mean, he makes it worse. When he comes out of the field with his shirt off and tucked into his shorts all of his thickness, his muscles that make you ravenous.Â
- During lunch one day he drags you away to a forgotten tool shed, though it would be easier just to go up the hill to your bedroom- you feel like teenagers sneaking around like this.Â
- Namjoon presses into you as he hits the latch on the door, muffling your giggles with kisses as you hide from the hybrids outside, voices that you can dimly hear, unable to pick out any one particular yet- but you know they're there.Â
- You and Namjoon might bicker like an old married couple. But you also act like teenagers gooey and giggly and so so so in love. âDo you think that they can hear you like this? Or smell you, my love?â Namjoon is always quick to tell you how delectable you smell when youâre horny. His more sensitive nose-picking it up the second you feel a slickening between your thighs.
- Youâre shaky when you respond. âI donât know, maybe?â Namjoon always has this passionate intense air about him. Heâs slightly possessive- but youâd never fault him for that not when itâs all about protecting and providing for you. Not when he always puts your pleasure first (you feel like you may have turned into a slight pillow princess with him).Â
- Namjoon heaves you up onto the edge of a bench and then gets on his knees. Gently lifting your leg over his shoulder. Heâs always mindful of how much you can move in your swollen state. He checks to make sure heâs not bending your hips in an uncomfortable way.Â
- You put your hands back on the dusty bench to stabilize yourself as you lie back, Namjoon wastes no time in pressing his face close to your cunt and inhaling, His nose prodding at the thin fabric of your underwear. One of his ears caught on the hem of your dress. His fingers digging into the plushness of your thighs- so full and healthy it makes him hard in his pants.Â
- Heâs slow with the appreciation of your thighs and hips. Hands gripping and moving on to touch and feel like you have all the time in the world. But you hear voices outside the tool shed youâve commandeered and you could just slip out and go back up to your house- but somehow you like this better. The thought of being discovered stirring an unsure heat in your stomach.Â
- You can hear Taehyung's voice, and then- like a shock through your core- you hear Jiminâs. Namjoon can feel your jolt. And you realize- his sensitive ears must have known who it was before your own human ones did. He chuckles- teasing his fingers along the hem of your underwear, almost daring to slip inside.
- You almost whine when you think about what youâre being denied- the harsh pull of his fingers that youâre so addicted too, how thick his fingers and knuckles feel (almost as nice as his cock) when they pull out and push in.
- Yoongi and Namjoon have always had the most lovely hands, itâs strange that when Namjoon touches you- you think about Yoongiâs hands. The way you clench around his fingers at that has Namjoonâs tail wagging. "you're thinking about them aren't you," The way you clench around his fingers at that has Namjoonâs tail wagging. Because yeah; Yoongi and Jimin are apart of Namjoonâs pack too, and bonding and group sex are kind of the same thing to hybrids. Youâd found that out the hard way when youâd found a group of cat hybrids all tangled together in the grass the other day.
- Namjoon is always so gentle with you because of your condition, but you find your hips jerking with want. His fingers still when he feels the way your wetness has spilled out the sides. His thumb pressed over your clit teasingly. âsmell so good when you're like this So wet my love, are you thinking about them finding you like this?âÂ
- âY-yesâ you confess, and Namjoon growls, nipping at you through the fabric, the feel of his teeth brushing you, over the sensitive skin. The fabric cushioning the feeling, makes you almost gush, and you know youâll be shakily legged by the time he lets you get down. And that he wonât let you get away from him until heâs taken care of you in this way, sated you in every sense of the word.Â
- But he can also tell how shy you are, the heat under your skin at the thought of being discovered. always unsure how much of your dirty talk is a real want and not just something you like in theory. Namjoon knows the idea of sharing you with the others might seem like the most natural and hottest thing; to love you alongside them. but to you- a human, hybrid sex and hybrid bedroom dynamics aren't as given.Â
- So he leans close, sliding your underwear down your legs slowly, letting you feel the heat of his palms on your skin. You're getting worked up a little too quickly, your heaving breaths needy. God damn pregnancy hormones you'd say if you could think beyond the plush feeling of his lips pressing a kiss to your clit. âGotta clean you up for them, if they smelled you like this- then theyâd know wouldnât they?âÂ
- You prove Namjoons initial assumption wrong. âWhat if I-â you whisper- gasping quietly as Namjoon drags the fabric to the side and glides a delicate lick over your folds. âWhat if I want them to know?â the pleasure thrumming through your body as Namjoon licks up your slit. Namjoon stills, ears perked, eyes flashing in the half-light. The snarl against your cunt loud and echoic.
- The voices outside fall silent and Namjoon doesn't stop his ravenous licking no matter if you have to bite your lip to keep your noises in. One of your hands scrambling to pull at his hair and find something to grip onto and anchor yourself against the onslaught of pleasure. Jimin is the first one to puncture the silence, âWhat was that?âÂ
- Then comes Seokjin's voice âall of you- move along- whoever it is they probably donât want the three of you listening in like a bunch of horn dogsâ which is basically a confirmation that they were listening in, and that Yoongi was there too.Â
- When you finally exit the toolshed with weak legs, sure youâre going to have to at least got change your underwear. You find a bleary-eyed Seokjin a few dozen feet away, obviously upwind of the toolshed. he levels Namjoon with a tired expression. âYou both have dirt on your kneesâ Namjoon has the good sense to look shy at that. You hastily brush off the spots on his, and he on yours.
- If Jimin and Yoongi smell anything on you later- they donât say anything and the idea that they might make you feel hot all over whenever they lean in too close. You think you see a blush on Yoongiâs face more than once, and maybe see him adjust his pants out of the corner of your eye, but Jimin seems blissfully unaware.
- You have a check-up at the doctorâs office in the coming days. And although only Namjoon is allowed in the room with you (they have a two-person maximum because the ultrasound room is tiny), Yoongi and Jimin also accompany you. Namjoon comes bounding out after, waving the picture and smiling so so wide, both Yoongi and jimin leaning in close to get a better look- theyâre so enamored with the little photo. And when you get home- Namjoon shows anyone that asks how the check-up went, eventually hanging it on one of the two fridges in the kitchen.
- Jimin is the only one who seems to notice the jealous looks- because you went out for ice-cream after and come home with them still partially melting (youâd had another craving- french-fries dunked in ice cream of all things). One of the other hybrids having heard Jimin talk to Tae about the beach trip too. They come to you at the end of the day, 2 bunnies, a cat, a fox and one of the bears- a mish moshed group of hybrids; petitioning you to start the beach trips for everyone.
- You can only fit so many people into the back of your truck so you pick a day and start a raffle for spots. Jimin throws his name into the hat just in case but to his surprise, Yoongi doesnât. No matter how much Jimin bugs him too; He wonât agree to accompany Jimin to the beach again. Shaking his head with a roll of his eyes back tipped back against the grass, his sunhat crumpled. Offering up a few sweet tomatoes to soothe Jiminâs sour nerves.Â
- The peace lasts for a couple of days before theyâre right back to treating Yoongi like shit and for some reason, it pisses Jimin off more. No matter how many times heâs heard Namjoon asks Yoongi to please tell him when anything happens. The snake hybrid seems unable to fight back.
- Jimin asks one of the hybrids why she wonât look at Yoongi (after the snake has already gone up the hill to retrieve another dish for dinner) and beyond a startled look, she just says ânone of us can smell himâ she throws a stack of paper towels down onto the table angrily. The deer hybrid across from them stumbling with their silver wear But she doesnât need to re-iterate herself. Jimin understands- itâs hard to trust someone who can lie to your face- and in the world of hybrids where emotions can be decreed from a simple sniff, Jimin canât say he doesnât see where theyâre coming from.
- Doesnât excuse their behavior, however. After all- Jimin can smell Yoongiâs emotions through his scent and he didn't realize that was something strange until now. To Jimin, Yoongiâs scent is soft and sweet- something gummy and soft like a marshmallow. But thatâs probably because he spends so much time with the hybrid. The others only spend so much time around him and are unused to his scent. And the fact that he never talks and never tries to socialize doesnât help.
- Jimin canât imagine not wanting to smell more of it- not leaning in whenever the other hybrid passes. Jimin wants to bury his face in Yoongiâs neck and rub his cheek all over it. The same way that Namjoon does to him in the morning if he shows up before heâs changed from his pajamas. And he knows he smells soft like sleep- an alluring smell to the older alpha when he comes down the stairs, ears straight up eyes wide as he takes in all of Jimin's vulnerability.
- and it might have to do with what Taehyung had said- that alphas eat up that sort of thing.Â
- Namjoon smells good too, his scent all soft mornings and sleepy walks, the older hybrid large and so pliant in his sleepiness, eyes swollen and face puffy as he hides in Jiminâs shoulder. Sending his pine scent all over so that it sticks to jimin no matter where he is. So that jimin will smell like Namjoon all day.Â
- One of the cat hybrids at the sink rolls her eyes. But when you come down the stairs smelling much the same. You touch his arm so softly in passing, like you canât believe youâre allowed. And Jiminâs senses are a dizzying blur of cream, peaches, pine, and marshmallow.Â
- when he goes back to the barns, hazy at being scented by Namjoon so thoroughly. Taehyung levels him with a funny look and a chuckle. "you're more devious than anyone gives you credit for" thought Taehyung means it good-naturedly- it's good to have a friend to ask how to go about flirting with. the other hybrids gathered on the couch in front of the tv; some cartoon playing- pretend like they're not listening in.Â
- "How do you know so much when you don't have a pack of your own Tae?" he asks over breakfast, the two of them clutching breakfast burritos on their way to check Tae's bees. Tae doesn't meet Jimin's eyes "you're just lucky- most hybrids dont find a pack so easily Jimin" his words arenât jealous- only a little patronizing. And Jimin accepts it because he knows he has a lot to learn.
- Taehyung is right- out of all of the hybrids at the farm, there are only a few who have paired up or even made stronger groups or multi-person packs. the bunnies and the cats don't form set generally- though there are a few pairs and more than a few throuples.
- Jimin as caught Yeonjun making out with a tabby more than once- has learned to avoid certain sections of the woods all together because everyone knows that's where the bunny hybrids like to go in the afternoons. The canine hybrids are the only ones who have packs, though there are more than half a dozen loners like jimin and namjoon.
- It's hard for Jimin to cohabitate with them even though there are other larger predators and more than a few prey hybrids living in Jimin's barn. he hadnât really realized until taehyung pointed it out that each different pack occupied one corner of the punk room. More than once- the room in the barns has felt hostile if only for the packs that have claimed either corner of the bunkroom. it's usual to wake up and find more than one of the pups cuddling with another in one single bed.Â
- Having reciprocated love in his pack shouldn't feel like an impossibility to Jimin. But still, when Yoongi steps close- an inch too far away, his fingertips barely brushing- Jimin just- yearns. Itâs a soft sort of yearning, the kind that has jimin jumping up whenever Yoongi needs something. Has him settling a think knit blanket over Yoongiâs nobly knees during movie nights, and sticking his own feet underneath the edge of the blanket. Feet Pressed to the clothed line of his calf. Maybe nothing will ever come of it, But Jimin yearns with everything heâs got regardless.
- In the late hours of the night, when Jimin lies awake thinking about the three of you. An instinct welling inside of him that says he should walk up the hill and fall asleep on your couch just to be closer to you three (the pack instinct- Taehyung calls it, looking a little bit sad himself when jimin asks him, the other hybrid moving away before jimin can ask exactly what that means) Jimin wonders if his feelings will ever be reciprocated.
- But love is a strange thing, itâs not just about saying it with kisses or touches- though Jimin wants them too. There is love in the small things, in building something together so thatâs what Jimin tries to do. Every day- he takes to gardening with a new vigor. Shouting in joy when you harvest some of the tomatoes- filling up a whole gallon bucket with the amount that have ripened over the last week. Your peppers and cucumbers are beginning to produce more too.
- Jimin and Yoongi run to Namjoon just to give him a handful. The alpha gives each of them a sweet nuzzle in thanks, even if Yoongi chirps and moves back after a moment. A flush high on his cheek. Namjoon looking up at Yoongi from where heâs stopped- cheek on the elder's shoulder. The snake relaxing after a moment.Â
- You spend the rest of the day showing Jimin and Yoongi how to prepare the tomatoes to make a sauce, roasting them on low heat. Cutting garlic so so carefully, and whenever Jimin looks across the prep table- Yoongiâs gaze darts away. halfway through- yoongi stoops down, sticking his socked feet into jiminâs lap, and it feels so nice, to have their weight there.Â
- You go over to Yoongi at one point, and he tips his head back to look up at you. The back of his head is at the right height to lye up against your baby bump. And Jimin watches, as you slowly, so slowly, brush the hair out of his eyes and away from his forehead. Yoongiâs eyes flutter closed and he tips his face into your hand. Letting out a low happy grumble when you take his action as positive reinforcement, and drag your nails over his scalp. In Jiminâs lap, Yoongiâs toes curl.Â
- It feels strange- and Jimin canât quite put his finger on it- but it almost feels like Yoongi is letting you all touch him more than ever. Suddenly okay with touches- as long as itâs in a more private setting. Jimin canât say heâs unhappy about it. Maybe one-day yoongi will even let Jimin scent mark him.Â
- Jimin smiles at Yoongiâs happy little snake grumbles. And keeps chopping his garlic. Is happy to receive the same kind of scratch from you a few minutes later. Though he might abandon his chopping in favor of rubbing his face all over your stomach when the instinct strikes him. Jimin unintentionally lets out a growl when you start to move away. Slapping a hand over his mouth and apologizing, no matter how you and Yoongi laugh.
- Still, despite the happiness, you have in your kitchen, in your house, whenever youâre around each other. The rest of the world is not so kind.
- An adoption day comes at arguably the worst and best time. There is still a fair amount of friction between your group and the rest of the hybrids. And a few outsiders at the farm only make it worse. Though Yoongi, Jimin, and Namjoon arenât the only hybrids who wear red stickers to indicate that they are not available for adoption.
- Hoseok surprisingly- grabs a yellow sticker. And the three of your hybrids watch- as Seokjin hovers around him- a red sticker on his own lapel- wary of all and anyone who interacts with the otter hybrid. His glares putting off all but the most attentive patrons. That's where it starts.
- Jimin is unfortunately caught in the middle when seokjin confronts hoseok. off to help the three of them bring down 3 trays of cut watermelon for the hybrids and the patrons. The dinner tables have been set out on the side of the field piled high with Hors d'oeuvre. Youâre there with Namjoon greeting the humans. Games are set out too- for the hybrids and humans to play.Â
- itâs no secret that theyâve gotten close, and jimin had assumed theyâd talked about it- but apparently not. Seokjin is so angry heâs nearly crying. âwhy- hoseok- why do you want to leave the farm?â Hoseokâs little otter ears are tight against his scalp. âI just- I didnât want to assume?â
- âOh- so youâd rather just- throw away everything that weâre trying- all of this- you donât you dont want to stay do you-â Jimin has never seen seokjin looking so lost, and he knows enough to guess that Seokjinâs anger is at least in part to due to some trauma (later- Jimin will find out that Seokjinâs mother left him with his last owner- an abusive man- to save herself). Â
- Jimin knows enough to get in between them, telling them to calm down and spend a minute away from each other. Jimin ends up with Hoseok- âitâs hard Jimin- how do you, how do you have so much sureness with Y/n? with Namjoon and yoongi too? How do you look at them and trust that you should stay?â Hoseok's eyes remain on Jimin's red tag.Â
- Jimin sighs, thinking it through, âdo you look at Seokjin and know he cares about you? like- do you know it in your bones?â Hoseok bites his lower lip, âyes- but-âÂ
- âThen you should stay Hoseok,â Jimin walks Hoseok up to the main house where the stickers sit on the prep table. Changing out his yellow one for a red one. And when they head off back down the hill, Seokjin is waiting on the path with Yoongi, apologizing and dragging Hoseok away to the barns where Seokjinâs own private room is. Hoseok goes willingly, smiling up at the older hybrid. His narrow shoulders cuddled under one of Seokjin's wide ones.Â
- jimin has to admit, an otter and an alpaca are a weird combination for a hybrid pack (But no stranger than a pair of puppies and a snake). His thoughts drift towards Taehyung- and Jimin hopes that his friend won't end up alone. it must not be easy- to see all of you pair off like this.Â
- in some ways, that adoption day is full of just as much bullshit as they usually are. there are always people who dont understand the effort it takes to take care of a hybrid- they aren't just like any ordinary pet. it's easy to spot the ones that view them as pets- and less like people. You get a few rich people looking to adopt a companion as always.Â
- A substantial group of families also look to adopt similarly aged companions for their single children. And you agree to more than one possible test weekend. Youâre always so particular about letting the children go, so wary and so careful in the way you let them interact with the families.
- Though they donât have parents here- there are more than a few good role models and parental figures. More than one child chooses a red tag for themselves. And they always know have a right to it- no matter how young they are. You make it clear to the group of them; If they donât want to be adopted they donât have to be.Â
- You even get one couple- the woman withdrawn and sad, and a slightly jealous look at your own pregnant stomach says more than any words could. Itâs pretty common for women who canât have children to adopt hybrid children. and though some of it doesn't sit right with you, You arenât one to judge.Â
- Jimin spends most of the adoption day helping you balance the need for food and for games. running back and forth to the house to help. Though there is a little work that needs to be done here and there just to keep the farm running as usual. grey storm clouds roll in halfway through the day, puncturing the blue sky- foretelling scattered showers and storms. and jimin hopes it will cut the adoption day short so that you can return to your routines.Â
- Jimin is just helping Yoongi putting away a broken badminton net When it happens- Jimin isnât certain why it does. Only that he hears the words outside the shed after Yoongi's just excited to grab the broken rackets (Namjoon isn't the only clumsy hybrid you have at the farm).Â
- âoh sorry-Â ew gross,â a shrill female voice says, and then he rounds the corner and sees yoongi picking himself up from the dirt- a rich lady and her peacock hybrid looking down at him like heâs the dirt beneath his shoes. The peacock hybrid has Yoongiâs sun hat in his hands and there is another hybrid- a wolf hybrid from the farm with a green sticker on his shirt, who growls down at yoongi.
- His shoulders shake too the way they do when heâs been touched and he doesnât want to be. Jimin has seen you brush your fingers over the back of Yoongiâs hand, has even felt the coolness of the snake hybrid through the fabric when the elder grabbed his sleeve. Has touched him even more intimately as of late. But he knows that Yoongi canât tolerate being touched by people he doesnât trust- doesnât want to touch him. basically, anyone, that's, not you, Namjoon, or Jimin himself.Â
- âHey- what the fuck!â Jimin spits, grabbing the sunhat out of the hybrid's hand with a growl, his ears flat against his head. If Jimin had elongated canines like Namjoon they would be barred in anger as he shoves the larger hybrid back. Yoongi shrinks impossibly smaller behind him.
- Jimin is hot and itchy from the heat and the humidity, and he really just wants to shower and cool off. He doesnât have the energy to deal with entitled people today. And more importantly- no one touches Yoongi on Jiminâs watch.
- The hybrid looks surprised to be talked to in that way, heâs nearly a head taller than Jimin let alone the slightly taller feathers that poke out of the top of his head that give him the appearance of several more inches- but Jiminâs intimidating enough with his set expression to send the hybrid huffing away. Feathers fluffed.
- The peacock's iridescent feathers stand up on end as he grabs the hand of his human owner, her diamond tennis bracelet glittering in the sunlight. âThis was getting boring anyway. Sorryâ he tosses over his shoulder at the canine hybrid, who looks so disappointed his ears pinned back against his head. They only give him that- barely a look, before theyâre heading off down the hill in the direction of the line of cars parked on the grass.
- The wolf hybrid deflates audibly- watching the woman and the other hybrid disappear down the hill. promises of home and family disappearing in a moment, but Jimin has to think- if theyâd be discouraged so easily- were they really worth it? The wolf hybrid doesn't seem to think so- Turning his angry tear-filled eyes on Jimin.Â
- But Jimin can see the hate in his eyes and knows not to mistake the tears for only sadness. âYou both ruin everythingâ he growls out- before they too run back towards the barns- no doubt to tell the others how Yoongi had sabotaged their adoption. Even though that was far from the truth. in all honestly- yoongi just bumped into the lady- or more probably- the lady bumped into him when he was on his way out of the shed.
- Jimin holds out his sunhat to Yoongi, who takes it from Jimin carefully, Jimin doesnât linger on the fact that his hand still shakes. Jiminâs hand lingers somewhere close enough where Yoongi could touch it could reach out if he wants too. If he wants to get that kind of comfort from Jimin's touch- then Jimin will willingly give it.Â
- a faint flush coats the elder's cheeks. Oh no- he must be overheating then, Jimin feels a rush of concern. He knows what you would do, hover your hand close enough to Yoongiâs forehead, usher him upstairs for a break in the air conditioning, and a glass of icy lemonade.
- All they can hear is the shouts of laughter at the games the others play in the fields, âI understand why you donât want to stay in the barns, why you donât want to socialize with some of them, theyâre so unkind to you it makes me crazy.â Jimin shakes his head, sour anger filling him like a rotten peach.
- Yoongi, looks more than pacified, looking up at Jimin with an indecipherable look. Most of the time, Jimin can get a good guess on how heâs feeling but not now- not that indecipherable heaviness he finds there. or the strangely heavy marshmallow scent thatâs fluffed around them. Jimin lets go of Yoongiâs hat.
- After a moment Yoongi nods, and Jimin takes it as a thank you. Theyâre done for the day and dinner wonât be for another few hours or so. Jimin is ready to avoid some of the strangers and hopefully take advantage of the empty showers. The sky is grey with incumbent storm clouds when Jimin makes his way to the shower buildings which he finds blissfully empty; except for the bear hybrid Jackson that tosses a greeting at Jimin before exiting.
- Jimin doesnât even bother to flick the lights on, instead of settling for the calm light that comes through the skylights, grey and hazy. the storm clouds have started to roll in properly. He hums as he disrobes, goes to grab his favorite strawberry body wash, and picks the last shower at the end, disrobing in relative comfort, glad for a moment of privacy.
- The blissfully Coldwater does wonders for his overheating muscles, relaxing his body deliciously from a day spent walking up and down the hill. he digests the chaos of the day- seokjin and hoseok fighting, yoongi getting shoved. you'd looked frazzled the last time he'd seen you, smile strained as you made small talk with most of the humans, Namjoon always close incase you needed someone to lean on.
-Â Jimin had been able to tell that your feet were sore just by looking at you. Namjoon will probably make you sit down before long, maybe he already has. Youâll probably cut off the adoption day because of the rain. Taking down names and information before you send them on their way. You rarely let a hybrid leave the farm after one adoption day, needing to have more private meetings and house calls to willingly part with one of them. You just want to make sure you dont release them back into another abusive household.Â
- He hums as he washes, lingering in the water and taking a longer shower than he usually would. He hums, testing the way his vocal cords wrap around the acoustics of the empty high ceilinged room.Â
Then he hears the scuffling of someone in the bathroom too and cuts off. A little abashed at being caught. The rustling getting closer and its a moment before he realizes that the rustling is coming from his own section of the bath. he smells him the second before he pulls the shower curtain gets pulled back.Â
- âYoongi!â Jimin shouts, furiously grabbing at something to cover his nakedness. Jimin furiously tries to cover his crotch, grabbing one of the large bargain bottles of shampoo and hold it there even as cold water runs over his face. Getting into his wide eyes. âYoongi what the fuck! Youâre naked!â
- Jimin is glad that the rumors about snake hybrids having double the appendages as a normal hybrid are false but he canât stop his blush or his wandering eyes as he sees the snake hybrid in full. Or the hot lick of arousal that shocks him through his core- especially when he recognizes the heaviness to Yoongi's scent as being arousal.Â
- there is a single moment, jimin can smell yoongi- can see the want in his eyes, can feel his own scent fluff out to meet his, yoongi sags under the weight of Jimin's scent as the surprise dissipates. "do you-" Jimin's face must be brighter than a tomato. He reaches out a tentative hand, "do you want to-"Â
- Before Jimin can do much more than that Yoongiâs lips are on his, tentative but firm and passionate, the fire leaking into him from Yoongi as jimin stumbles in surprise. The kiss tastes like thank you and Ive wanted to do this for longer than i care to admit and everything yoongi can't say, can't let slip past his lips. jimin drops the shampoo bottle which narrowly misses his foot as Yoongiâs hands come up to encircle his jaw so softly like Yoongi is holding the most important thing in his world. Jimin is so shocked that for a moment- he doesnât kiss back and Yoongi retracts- not before Jimin chases his lips and the snake hybrid returns to him.
- Itâs the first time Yoongiâs ever touched Jimin so bare, and the snakeâs hands on the back of his neck feel cold and shivery but good. As Jiminâs back hitâs the wall and their fronts press together for a moment, just brushing. Then colliding with more force as they both realize how good it feels to be so close to someone you trust. Itâs dizzying- intoxicating, and Jimin knows his mouth is moving sloppily even if he wants to kiss Yoongi with just as much intent.Â
- The snake hybrid bites- actually bites- down on Jiminâs tongue. And a strangled whine comes to live and die in his throat. A snarl in his ears from Yoongi's mouth as the snake hybrid keeps his biting, moves to Jimin's throat- bites hard Enough that Jimin knows he'll leave a bruise. "leave more- yoongi please mark me" jimin feels hot with the thought of it- the thought of all the other hybrids being able to smell yoongi on his scent gland.Â
- Jimin doesnât know where to put his hands, he knows enough to know that Yoongi doesnât like to be touched and unsure if it extends to right now. but it seems okay if heâs doing the touching. His hands sliding down Jimin's back to his waist. Heâs a good kisser, the best that Jiminâs ever kissed (not that there have been many) and he tips his head forward to put as much scalding force as he can into it when yoongi leaves his neck in favor of his mouth, trying to match Yoongiâs intensity even if he canât match his skill.
- Yoongi takes a step forward, and Jiminâs cock brushes his hipbone, and he canât stop the way his hips jump at the contact, brushing into Yoongi further. Jiminâs blood boils with arousal. Yoongi is equally as hard compared to Jimin. And Jimin doesn't know if its water or precum that he feels on his skin. Can't look down to check.
- By the time Yoongi leans back and finishes running his fingers through Jiminâs hair and over his shoulders. Jiminâs so wound up he feels like heâs about the pass out. The cool water cascading over his back doing nothing to settle him. Yoongi moves his hips- testing the waters, as he grinds, works jiminâs hips into an unsteady rhythm. and jimin moans.Â
- Yoongi pulls back, looking at jimin, their noses brushing, like he canât bear to have jimin farther away from him than this, want heavy in his eyes, and Jimin tastes the words on Yoongiâs lips as good as if heâd said them. âYoongiâ jimin breathes. Palms pressed carefully to the shower wall so that he wonât reach out and yank Yoongi closer. But heâs Weak against the wake of this of all this feeling.
- âfuck- kiss me again- can we- â Jimin feels strung out, his body heavy with something like heat- maybe Jimin is actually having a heat and itâs not just in his imagination (he wouldn't really know what it felt like- never having had one before because of his malnutrition). But This kind of kissing is certainly enough to trigger one.
- Yoongi opens his mouth for a second, almost like heâs about to speak- or to try to, Jiminâs never been sure if he can- if itâs muteness or just Yoongi being selective. And then in the next moment, Yoongiâs gone, almost tripping on his way out of the showers with how fast heâs leaving jimin. A whine dies in his throat and jimin starts after him, But then Yoongi turns back. Gesturing with a hand for jimin to stay put. Yoongi looks angry, and it takes a moment for Jimin to realize that the anger wasnât directed at jimin- only at Himself.
- Jimin stays in the shower, water thundering down around him as the sky overhead thunders too. Jimin listens to the faint sound of Yoongi dressing and then leaving the showers. Jimin lets him go. So sure that he has absolutely no idea what just happen- or even if he didnât imagine the whole thing.
- jiminâs hand on himself doesn't feel nearly good as Yoongiâs did.Â
- Yoongiâs hands shake all the way back up the hill, and he hopes his wet hair wonât be too suspicious especially when a mixed group of hybrids crosses his path. Returning to the barns as most of the adoption day festivities have ended.
 - Yoongiâs careful to keep his eyes averted. And like usual- the conversation comes to a halt when Yoongi passes them by. It no longer bugs him the way it might have once. They have a good reason not to want to associate with him. Yoongiâs body shakes with the weight of the things heâs done and the things heâs going to do.
- you gather with 3 families on your porch as you take down their names and contact information. You send yoongi a concerned look as he quickly heads inside the house. Pausing only for a moment before he decides to go to Namjoon first. Later- later heâll ask you too.Â
- Stupid- heâs been so stupid recently. Touching you- indulging in these short sweet touches because he wants more so badly. Knows he can never have it doesnât stop the wanting. If his owner ever found out what heâs done- if she ever found out what heâd almost done with jimin- sheâd surely have Jiminâs hands for it.Â
- And as much as Yoongi wishes it were any other way- Jimin almost touching him does remind him of far worse times. Though heâd been the one to initiate it this time- the memories still linger.Â
- Times when foreign hands touched his skin as heâd thrashed and screamed trying to protest against the taunting words of his owner. âIâve never been interested in snake dick but if you want him for tonight you can have him- just be careful- he bitesâ and he shakes with those memories. Though its been many years. like most kinds of torture- eventually, his owner had grown bored with using yoongi's body as a bargaining chip. Yoongi wonders if heâs ever going to be able to be touched that way without feeling the revulsion at his own body.
- Jimin had come close, but he'd known- known that yoongi didn't want him to touch him. Had seemed more than willing to be touched himself. the revulsion hadn't hit him until the end.Â
- The places heâs been touched without his consent feel black and decaying- or like ink, every time someone touches him- Yoongiâs surprised that ink doesnât come away on your hands soft and delicate. But it didnât change the fact that Yoongi wanted it- and wants it still.Â
- he wants to see you soft and sated the way you look sometimes in the morning when he can smell Namjoon on you- wants to cause it- maybe, someday in the future if you'll let him. He knows youâd be gentle with him. Wouldnât put your hands anywhere he didnât want. Would check in with him- going as slowly or as quickly as he wanted too. Namjoon would be able to be gentle too- Yoongiâs sure of it.
- He wants it, even though he knows that want only put you all in danger. Heâs an incredibly selfish person. He hopes he never gets to have that intimacy with you, for your sake.
- yoongi should only let himself dream of something good before he goes- sinks back into that life. But the temptation for more is too strong sometimes, his want filling him up like sticky sweet syrup that pollutes every moment.Â
- Namjoon is on the second floor of your house and Yoongi takes the stairs two at a time. Folding laundry in what will one day be the nursery for your child. Heâs taken the ultrasound up here now- hung it up so he can look at it. and Yoongi is reminded of A few days ago when he gushed about the development of your child to Yoongi in the kitchen comparing them to the size of a fruit. âa cute little cantaloupe- the cutest little cantaloupeâ
- You and Namjoon have made the decision not to find out the gender, but the walls of the nursery are still pained blue, puffy clouds above and little flowers below, dandelions and daisies, a stalwart sunflower that curls over the arch of the door half-finished. Yoongi knows you work on the mural it whenever you can. But Namjoon gets a little paranoid about the fumes- you compromise and keep the windows open along with the door to your balcony to allow as much air circulation as possible.
- The crib, a fluffy white thing is already piled into the corner. And Yoongi remembers the first few weeks here when you and Namjoon had overzealously ordered it. Heâd come downstairs after dinner one night and found both of you puzzling over the directions. And heâd shooed Namjoon away as heâd helped you put it together. The three of you ending up giggly and punch drunk tired by the time it was fully put together. And then had to carry it all the way up the stairs.Â
-A mobile of little felted flowers that Seokjin made you as a thank you present a hangs above the empty Crib- colorful and cute. And Namjoon has set the laundry on the unused changing table in neat stacks. All of the other furniture is piled into the center of the room so that you can paint the walls. He turns when he hears Yoongi, his tail swishing.
- âHey Yoon- what you get caught in a rainstorm or something?â the rain splatters against the windows with a soft patter and Yoongi drips onto the floor. He never bothered to dry off after the unintentional shower with jimin. Yoongi makes a shrug that means âsomething like thatâ and if the younger hybrid hovers on the way that Yoongiâs lips look a little kiss bitten and swollen he doesnât say a thing. Namjoon knows better than anyone- what they talk about and what they donât.
- He hands over the slip of paper;Â âjimin should move into the main house, you and I could clean out one of the storage rooms and move the stuff into the attic.â
-Â Yoongi watches Namjoonâs eyes rove over the words a few times. The hybrid purses his lips, âIâve talked to Y/n about this- and she agrees- but I donât know if he wants too? He seems pretty comfortable in the barns, he likes Taehyung and theyâre friends. and we kind of want to leave it up to him if we can.â
- Yoongi snatches the paperback from him, annoyance flickering in his chest as he rolls his eye. Didnât Namjoon see that nothing would change if they didnât push him a little? Jimin is the type to take that kind of abuse again and again if it means not making a fuss. And Yoongi knows itâs only a matter of time before something happens again. He turns it over onto the other side and using the wall as a place to write.
- âHeâs already being treated differently because of meâ 'me' being double underlined- so that Namjoon really understands what heâs trying to say. Yoongi just wants to make sure Jimin is safe before he goes. Before he needs to leave and before it gets too dangerous and too near a time when his owner will physically retrieve him. Not that Namjoon knows that Yoongiâs presence has an expiration date. Namjoon searches Yoongiâs face for a source to his desperation and finds none.
- Yoongi has never felt worse for keeping secrets. Maybe in another world- Yoongi would have confessed and asked Namjoon, with all of his connections to the police, for help. Yoongi knows enough to put the whole crime system out of whack and yet. Years of negative reinforcement and beatings have taught him to keep his mouth shut and that isnât going to change now; not when Yoongiâs life isnât the only one at risk and he knows youâll all live if he plays by the rules. He doesn't care about his own safety anymore.Â
- The second he sees Yoongiâs distraught expression Namjoon steps closer Taking off his flannel and tugging it around his shoulders. Namjoon might not make moves to scent mark Yoongi but dressing him in his clothes is as good as he gets. Namjoonâs comforting alpha scent fluffs around him.
- Yoongi wonders if jimin feels the pull the same way he does. Dynamics are more mobile in snake hybrids and downright non-existent in humans. but theyâre more set in canines. Namjoon puts his hand on Yoongiâs clothed arm and Yoongi shuffles close after a second. His nose centimeters from Namjoonâs neck taking in deep breathes to try and steady himself. He didnât realize he was shaking.
- âIt will be alright Yoongi, I promise. Heâs gonna be safe.â Namjoon adds quieter. And below them both- in the first floor of the house, he can hear your voice, echoing louder and laughing at some sort of joke, Namjoonâs tail starts wagging at the suggestion of you. âI want them to feel safe too.â
- Yoongi wants to write âhe should take my room- I wonât be staying in it soon anyway.â but Yoongi needs to make sure- before he leaves. Jimin has to be included in your little pack. He doesnât want to think- about what the three of you will go through when he eventually has to leave. The days are counting down to the end of the summer.Â
- Heâs fucking selfish, so selfish, to kiss Jimin like that when he knows he won't be able to stay in the hybrids life. Heâs selfish every time he begs affection off you, every day he keeps Namjoon Company when heâs cleaning up the other barns. Yoongi writing out words in the dust when Namjoon asks him questions. Eyes only searching when Namjoon turns his back. Looking for any sort of hidden compartment. Completing his task even if itâs the last thing he wants to do. Betraying you like this.
- Jimin spends the rest of the day wondering if the kiss with Yoongi was just a dream. But later at dinner, Yoongi wonât meet his eyes, and jimin knows he didnât imagine the kiss. Guilt sticks to Yoongi, more distracting than honey stuck between your fingertips.
- Both of them go to sleep still thinking about the kiss. Jimin wondering if it will happen again and Yoongi thinking that heâd like it too. His fingers running over his lower and upper lips, mind awash with the memory of jiminâs mouth on his. And night falls heavy like a weighted blanket on the farm. The sky a big sheet with holes poked through for stars. A heavenly breeze tempting away the summer heat.
- All of the hybrids safe and snoring in their beds. Some even paired- if theyâve got it. Two furry bodies packed close on a single bed. Some even dream of homes they mind one day live in or of the people that one day theyâll get to love. The idea of being kept and treasured lulling them into a drowsy haze of anticipation and security.Â
- That night, Namjoon knocks on Yoongiâs door. the hybrid leaning up against the doorframe as he watches the snake get ready for bed. âyou know... you could sleep in our room if you want, we have an air conditioner in there too.â yoongi has a notepad ready, he knows that Namjoon likes to open all the windows and even the door to your balcony to let the fresh air in so that it feels like you're sleeping outside. He steels himself to think of someone other than himself before he writes- âIâm okay- thanks thoughâ Yoongi writes out.Â
- Namjoon lifts one of Yoongiâs blankets to his neck before he leaves, thoroughly scents marking it before he leaves it with Yoongi. And Yoongi sleeps easy that night with his nose pressed to the blanket. Safe and secure in his room. Nothing bad happens to yoongi that night even though he cuddles close to the blanket, and when he wakes in the morning. his heart beats a steady thumping rhythm- his whole body humming with anticipation.Â
- Itâs different to feel excited about being in love, excited for a day spent close to the people he cares about. And he knows he won't take a single day for granted.Â
- The crickets and cicadas chirping in the field. And in a low tone on the tree outside, a morning dove gentle and unassuming. The sun rising over the hills. Tastes of idyllic and smells of Eden. Like lavender and honey.
- A hand outstretched, scrambling in the dirt before it goes still, fingers just a few inches from safety. Blood mixing in with the sand. The morning is not perfect for everyone.
- But even you would say the morning was peaceful, if not for the dead body dumped at the end of your driveway.Â
FOOLISH_GAMERS
You had no idea how you got here, or why this bed was the same size of a bus, but you didnât care. All you cared about was getting away from the giant in front of you.
He was turned away from you and searching in a chest, none the wiser to you panicking behind him. You werenât sure why this was happening to you, or what even âthisâ was. You looked over the side of the bed. The drop was somewhat high, maybe 9 or 10 feet up, yet it was survivable. You sneaked to the end of the bed, took a deep breath, and jumped. Luckily for you, you were able to land on your feet, yet that didnât stop you from feeling incredibly dizzy and sick afterwards. Still you pressed on.
You went to the closest wall behind the bed and quickly attempted to make your way to the door, and hopefully the exit. The room, of course, was huge and it would take awhile to get to the door, let alone the exit. You couldnât give up hope, however. You gave a slight jog, not trying to go too slow and yet not trying to alert the giant.
You somehow managed the jog to the door, ducking to the right of it and avoiding the doorframe. This room appeared to be a sitting area, for whom you may never know. There were multiple chairs, yet you have never seen any other giants besides the one. You were almost one quarter through the room when you heard a loud, booming voice. You were unsure of what he was saying, but you were positive it wasnât English.
You ran back towards the corner as fast as you could, hoping that he would just skip over you. It worked for a few minutes, but as he turned to make his way back to the other room, he made full on eye-contact with you. You were absolutely petrified, practically paralyzed by fear. Even as he approached you, you were unable to move. Your breathing was going so fast, however. You felt like you could pass out when he slowly wrapped his hands besides you.
So naturally, you did.
(This one is so short, Iâm sorry đ)
AWESAMDUDE
(Man, his The Fall character is fucking epic. Occasionally I go back to texts between me and Ze just to hear about him again.)
You lifted your hand to cover your mouth, hissing came from behind the wall near you as it came closer and closer andâ
Not very long ago, you were wandering across the empty streets of some random town. Crumpled buildings sat all around you, broken windows and desolate cars littered the street. You observed the box in your hand as you walked. In your hand was a box of cheese crackers. You had found it awhile back and immediately took it, after all it was your favorite snack.
As you put another cracker of delicious cheesiness, you heard some faint hissing from somewhere nearby. You ignored it, not thinking much of it. Plus, it was extremely quiet and faint. You thought it may have been much further away than it truly was.
And then you had bumped into it.
Careful to clutch your cheese crackers, you backed up from whatever you had run into. You continued to look up and up and up at the beast; it was almost as if it had never stopped getting longer. In front of you was an almost 8 feet tall beast. It had adorned four legs which you had recognized as the same as creeper legs and similar colored spikes traveling up itâs back. It looked to be wearing some sort of armor; it continued to hiss as it turned to face you. It had small, similar spikes along itâs jaw. Pitch black eyes with green irises stared down at you. He wore a strange mask that looked similar to a gas mask.
You took a few steps back before turning and running completely. If it was a creeper that was in some freak accident, then you wanted nothing to do with it. The thought of the size of the explosion it could make if you stayed too close scared you.
Your running must have put it back into gear as a loud, somewhat sad sounding scream rung out into the air. You would have covered your ears had it not been for you needing to run.
You ducked into an old school, the walls were littered with mold and children's drawings and toys were all over the place. It didnât take long for you the slip on a piece of paper and slam your head into the tiles below. You blacked out, only for a small moment. Once you came to, you heard the beast shouting in what could have been fear. You quickly rushed to your feet, almost immediately falling back to your knees. You rubbed your head and looked at your hand. You were most definitely bleeding. You crawled into a nearby bathroom, sitting against the wall as your vision continued to fade in and out. Your breathing picked up as you heard it come closer.
You lifted your hand to cover your mouth, hissing came from behind the wall near you as it came closer and closer and closer.
You shut your eyes and dropped your hand as it slowly began making its way into the bathroom. You refused to move or even breathe, already accepting your fate. However, instead of tearing your body to tiny shreds, the monster let out a whine and you felt hands press onto your wrist before your head was tilted forward and you heard another whine of pain come from the beast.
You only managed to open your eyes a little before immediately falling into unconsciousness.
Mind Controlled â The Series.
Part 2 â Pull the trigger.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader, Alex Danvers x Niece!Reader, Lex Luthor x Niece!Reader.
Word count: 2300.
Warning: Injuries, violence, pain, angst.
Previously on the series - part 1
You land on the same room, on the same building, waiting for Lex's voice to come out of the speaker with further instructions. Youâre ready to do whatever he asks from you.
âYouâre back, my bĂśsewicht.â You hear his voice sometime later. âI presume you have done a good job leaving your mothers wrecked?â
âYes, sir.â
âSuch an obedient little monster. A Super with a Luthorâs brain. Why has no one thought about this before? Oh yes, I have. But they called me a mad man for it, and yet here you are.â And there you are. Standing still, staring at a wall, waiting for more orders. âIn that stupid outfit, dear Lord, why would anyone be dressed in those stupid clothes?â
You look down on your super suit. You do look stupid. This stupid skirt, horrible boots, long sleeve shirt so tight if you were human, it would mark your skin. It makes you so sick you want to rip it off of your body.
âNevertheless, with you playing pet for me, I can do whatever I want even still in jail.â The static comes again, but Lex doesnât stop talking. âI shouldâve known Lena would be greedy and want a smart and powerful kid. But I hadnât had confirmation, that was until mother came here to visit and told me all about you. So impressed with her little granddaughter.â He lets out a chuckle. âI canât imagine how infuriated sheâll be once she finds out it was her, who gave me the idea to mind control you.â
You think about Lillian, and how impressed she is with you. You give yourself a cocky smile. She should be impressed, you are impressive.
âKryptonians might have strong minds, but Luthors? Weâre unfortunately just humans. So my bright sister didnât think that having a powerful kryptonian daughter with a susceptible mind wasnât a good idea?â He scoffs. "Oh, Lena. You may try, but you will never be smart like me.â
Thereâs a loud breathing sound.
âThatâs enough of chatting. I have better things for you to do, my bĂśsewicht. Youâll break me out of jail when itâs time, but first-â Thereâs a wicked little pause. âLetâs destroy the Super name.â
Your body is suddenly filled with rage and wrath. You want to destroy everything. You want to drop a bomb in everyoneâs head. You want to make them suffer.
âThatâs it. Use your rage. Destroy National City, scare them, let them see you in your worst form. Let them fear the Supers, and then, come for me.â
âYes, sir.â
You fly off the window, looking for a place to start. You want to cause damage, you want them to be scared of you, whoever they may be.
You start off by using your heat vision to draw the âHouse of Elâ symbol in the middle of the park, so they know whoâs responsible for all that it is coming their way. You watch the grass burning, the form coming along and your heart beats fast, enthusiastic.
You didnât even start the destruction part yet, and this already feels fulfilling. You know exactly where to go next.
You fly to your training center and you look down. This stupid-ass place gives you no good memories at all. You got beat up, got yelled at, got annoyed every time your powers didnât work like they were supposed to, got angry at people looking at you thinking you werenât good enough. You remember their disapproving looks; you remember the tiniest of sighs youâve heard.
Fuck them all.
Your heat vision hits the ground, and your heart gets heavy, but your powers never stop. You can almost taste the feeling of being a disappointment in your mouth. And it gets you incredibly proud of yourself. You want to disappoint them. Them being proud of you means nothing at all.
You look down on the entire place up in flames. This is the right thing. Destroying this place will send them a message. You are not their little pet anymore. They canât keep you under a leash, pretending youâre not powerful and fucking special. Youâre so fucking special, even Lex wants your powers.
Itâs not long until Supergirl flies in front of you. You smirk at her looking down. Thereâs a powerful feeling cursing through your veins. You know she can see it too. Your hair blowing in the wind, your stupid super suit moving almost in slow motion, your eyes burning of rage with little flames dancing in the dark of your enlarged pupils.
âI believe you owe me an apology.â Itâs the first thing you say, after unclenching your jaw. âYou called me weak.â You spit, disgusted. âYou were mistaken.â
âDeeply.â Kara agrees looking down, and you notice the cars from the DEO stopping, people getting out of them in desperation, trying to put out the fire. That makes you so happy. She looks back at you. âIs this what this whole thing is about? Youâre trying to prove to me youâre strong, after all this time?â
âTrying?â You scoff, then your face goes back to a frown. âI donât need to prove myself. Especially not to someone who uses her powers to stop bank robberies instead of having the world under her firm grip.â
âI know youâre not my daughter.â Kara comes a little bit closer; you donât move. Youâre not scared of her, but she should be scared of you. âAre you bizarro?â
âYouâre too far consumed in this battle of ego to see right in front of you.â You tilt your head, letting a creepy smile dangle on your lips. âDonât you recognize your little one, mommy?â
âIf thatâs the case, then I have to stop you either way, little one.â Kara does her whole superhero pose and you laugh at her.
âYou canât. You donât have the stomach.â You look down to the ground and you see Lena there. âI see, you wonât be the one doing it. Clean hands, right? Let the Luthor hurt the Kryptonian. Itâs the natural order of things.â
âIâm sorry, my love. It has to be done.â Supergirl flies towards you in one motion. You still try to fly away, but she is a little faster, so she grabs you easily. You push her, punch her, you even pull her hair, but she doesnât let go.
She lands on the floor with you wrapped in her arms, and Lena comes closer. Kryptonite gun in hand. Soon, youâre surrounded by agents with their own guns. Supergirl lets you go, flying above you, but not leaving, in case you decide to make a run for it.
You look at Lena. Gun in hand. You listen to her heartbeat going crazy and you smile at her.
Letâs play, mom.
âDo it.â You dare. âI want to see you pull that trigger. I want to see you hurt your own daughter with Kryptonite.â
âI donât want to do this, baby.â Lena assures you, taking a small step towards you. âI promise you, Iâll figure out whatâs going on with you. You just have to come with me.â
âYouâve always known, havenât you?â You lock eyes with watery green eyes behind the gun. âYouâve always known someday the Luthor genes would shine through. Because no matter how good the Super gene is, the Luthor one is worse. So, so bad. Rotten to the core. Youâve always known I wouldnât be able to resist.â
âIâve told you before. We are not Luthors. We are Luthor-Danvers, and that means something. Please, stand down. Let me look at you.â
âTell me to stand down one more time and Iâll throw-â You look at one guy on your left and point at him. âThat guy into space.â
âBaby.â Itâs Lenaâs last try, you can see it in her face. You can see the way her finger presses lightly at the trigger. You also hear how that makes everyone else do the exact same movement.
âIâm not going to run away. But I wonât surrender, either.â You defy her. âIf you want me to go with you, then you have to do it. You have to pull the trigger and you have to live with the guilt all your life.â
âIâm sorry it has come to this, baby.â But her face doesnât hold much sentiment, nor does she lower her weapon. âBut you know I have to do this. You canât go on pulling stunts like this. You canât keep thinking there are no consequences to your actions.â
âYou are not sorry.â You smirk. âDonât try to play me for a fool, Lena.â Itâs the way her name leaves your mouth that makes her flinch. âI know youâre dying to pull that trigger and be the one who tamed a Kryptonian once again. Itâs what all Luthors want in the end.â
She pulls the trigger, making you fall on the floor in pain, after a blast of kryptonite hits your chest.
âYou should be so satisfied now.â You whimper. Kryptonite filling your body. âYouâve used kryptonite on your wife, and now on your daughter. Itâs a full circle, isnât it?â You spit out your words.
Lena puts you in handcuffs that strip you off of your powers, and strokes your cheeks gently. Eyes full of tears and instant regret.
âIâm bringing you back, my baby. I promise you.â She whispers delicately, like sheâs not even talking to you anymore, but maybe to the memory she has of you.
But the two agents that come from behind you donât pick you up delicately. In fact, they seem very pissed at you, and youâre shoved into the back of a van where Alex is.
âAunt Alex.â You start with your bitchy tone and Alex breathes deep.
âListen kiddo, Iâm not in the mood.â She shakes her head, upset. âYou just caused us millions of dollars in damages, Kara is a wreck, and donât even get me started on Lena.â Alex raises her eyes from her tablet. âI know youâre not yourself, thatâs why I donât give a fuck about this. You start talking? That gag goes in your mouth in a second. Donât think you can play me like you did with your moms.â
âI think the story would be really different if Lena hadnât cuffed me and stripped me off of my powers.â You raise an eyebrow, not breaking eye contact. âYouâre scared of me too.â
âHave you looked at yourself in the mirror?â Alex smiles unbothered. âIâve dealt with things much worse, and much scarier than you and your babyface.â She grabs the gag and looks at you. âNow shut it, or Iâll make you.â
You decide to shut up. Your quarrel isnât with Alex and the last thing you want itâs to be shut up. The best course of action is going willingly, and working something up in the DEO, because you know for sure there is where theyâre taking you.
Itâs Alex who shoves you inside of a cell, when you get there. Locks the glass door, and turns on some red sun lamps. You bite your mouth at the idea of it. They are very scared of you; they keep finding ways to strip you off of your powers.
It takes a few minutes until you hear talking on the other side of the glass. You canât see them, or hear them well enough, but thereâs one voice that stands out. You bitch grin to yourself.
Letâs play, momma.
"Mommyâ You use your best and sweetest voice. Kara comes closer to the glass cell, and you stare at her from the other side. You want to destroy this place brick by brick until thereâs nothing left, but you know if youâre aggressive about it, they wonât let you out. âPlease, let me out. Can you open the door, please?"
"Kid, I'm sorry but we have to understand what's-" Kara starts, but you interrupt her.
"I'm begging you, please, please mommy." You drop on your knees. Tears falling from your eyes, and that act allures a crowd. Lena and Alex soon join Kara on the other side.
"Baby, I'm sorry." Kara gasps, and you watch Lenaâs hand squeezing her shoulder reassuring. âYou know I want to-â
"You said you would protect me. This isn't protection.â Your tears stop falling, youâre angry again. The act isnât working. You clench your fist, using all the strength you have, trying to focus so the anger doesnât consume you. You feel the palms of your hands burning, with nails digging into your flesh. âPlease, this isnât fair. Mom, please, do something.â
"I swear this is for your own good." Lena takes a deep breath, not buying into what youâre saying. Great. Youâre done faking either way.
âFUCK YOU! LET ME OUT OF THIS CELL!â You bang on the cell, screaming as loud as you can. You see your blood leaving hand-shaped marks on the glass. Your scream is loud, but the banging is louder.
âBaby, please, you have to calm down.â You hear Karaâs voice trying to sooth you. It gets you angrier.
"FUCK YOU TOO! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT NOW!" They look at the blood splashed onto the glass. Your face is burning red, and Kara flinches at the sight of you. Lena doesn't, so you know your best shot is with your momma. "Kara, I swear if you don't open this cell right now, I will hate you until the day I die."
âThatâs enough.â You hear Alexâs voice and the glass turns black. You canât see them on the outside, and you know they canât see inside either. You canât hear their voices, so you suspect theyâre not listening to your unrelenting yell anymore.
Fuck. You need a new escape plan.
Miracles (sequel to Reminiscing)
You'd been trying for a baby with Cillian for over a year now without success - he isn't getting any younger... What's next for the two of you?
@being-worthy @peakyscillian @queenshelby @noctvrnalmoth @margoo0 @janelongxox
"Baby it'll happen when it happens..." Cillian soothed your tears as he held you on the bedroom floor. Your period had just arrived, which meant only one thing. No baby. You'd been trying now for nearly 15 months and nothing but negative pregnancy tests and more sanitary products. You'd tried changing your diets.. you'd both cut out alcohol and caffeine.. but nothing.
"What if it doesn't, Cill? What if it never happens?" You dried your tears on the sleeve of your t shirt and sank into his arms.
"Let's book in with that fertility doctor yeah? Get some tests run, find out what's stopping us having a baby?" He lifted you back to kiss you. You nodded, reluctantly. You were dreading this.. what if you were the problem? Clearly Cillian was fine, he had the two boys.. if you weren't able to give him a baby you'd never forgive yourself.. would he even stay with you? The baby had been his idea... The thought alone made you feel sick.
"How about a weekend away? Just you and me, we'll head to Kerry and just relax for a few days?" You smiled. He always knew how to make you feel better. Nodding your head, he pulled you up from the floor and held you close. "Let's just get away from it all - no more talk of babies, just us, agreed?"
"Okay.. agreed."
The following day you woke feeling sore and achy. Your lower back feeling like you'd been kicked by a horse. Grimacing slightly, you lifted yourself out of bed to the kitchen where Cillian was making coffee.
"Hey, you okay?" He saw you limping slightly.
"Yeah, must've slept funny, my back is so sore!"
"Why don't you go lie down, I'll bring your coffee through?"
"I need to get ready, I'm meeting Lisa for a coffee this afternoon."
"I'm sure she'll understand if you're not feeling great y/n?"
"It's just a bit of back pain, I'll be fine once I've stretched it out. Don't worry," you smiled, kissing his lips and taking the decaf coffee from him. You pulled away suddenly as a sharp pain suddenly washed over your lower abdomen.
"And now we have period pain too... Wonderful..." You felt your eyes watering at the harsh reminder that you weren't pregnant and Cillian pulled you into his arms again.
"I'll call Lisa, go get back in bed." You rolled your eyes in annoyance. "I'm not asking, y/n." Feeling irritated, you made your way back upstairs and got under the covers. Cillian joining you shortly after with a hot water bottle, glass of water and some paracetamol. You took the tablets and Cillian placed the water bottle on your lower belly, before climbing in behind you and holding you close. He could feel your body tense every now and again.
"Hey, you okay?" He rubbed a hand up and down your arm to soothe you.
"My back keeps spasming babe, must've really done a number on it.." he pulled back from you slightly and ran a hand over your lower back trying to soothe it. He could feel the spasms as they came off and on every few minutes, the worry growing in his stomach. You were normally so fit, working out in your basement gym downstairs three times a week, yoga every Saturday.. pulling a muscle sleeping didn't sound likely to him.
You felt yourself drifting off to sleep as Cillian's hands massaged your lower back. The heat from the hot water bottle easing the cramps in your tummy.
You woke a few hours later to a white hot pain across your stomach and you cried out, clutching your belly. The pressure in your stomach was so intense you called out.
"Cillian!! Baby you there??" No answer. You reached for your phone on the bedside table and called him.
"Hey, you're awake -"
"Cillian come home.. please it hurts!!!" You heard the car screech to a halt.
"What hurts? Baby where are you? I'm on my way, 10 minutes okay?"
"Please... God it hurts!!!" Cillian stayed on the phone but you heard him talking to his sister in the passenger seat.
"Orla, call an ambulance, you're gonna have to come with me. Y/n stay on the phone until I get there baby okay?" You were panting now, the pain was unbearable. You could hear Cillian swearing at other cars, he must've been driving like a maniac... You didn't care, you just needed him now.. Orla was talking now, she must've been on the phone to the ambulance service, you heard her give them your address before you screamed as another white hot pain shot across your belly.
Panting through the pain, you felt the pressure in your pelvis start to increase in intensity. You pulled yourself to your feet slowly, and made your way to the bathroom. You were sweating from every where, your temperature soaring to new heights. You pulled your underwear down and sat on the toilet, convinced whatever it was you'd eaten that was causing this was about to make a dramatic exit. In that moment you heard Cillian and Orla burst into the bedroom, Cillian making his way into the bathroom to you. You didn't even feel embarrassed that you were sat on the toilet you were just grateful that he was there.
"It hurts so bad Cill... Please make it stop!!!!" You screamed, as a sudden need to push took over you. Cillian was frozen in panic, completely helpless, he didn't know what to do. Orla suddenly took charge, pushing Cillian to the side to check you over. You stood up slightly, your body taking over completely.
"Holy shit..... y/n lie down on the floor, come on... Cillian, get a fucking towel!!" Orla guided you slowly to the bathroom floor and opened your legs, Cillian quickly grabbing a towel that she placed under your hips.
"Fuck... Okay y/n look at me.. you're going to feel a need to push and I need you go with it okay? Just breathe... You're gonna be fine.."
"The fuck is happening Orla??" You screamed.
"You having a baby y/n.. right now.. Cillian get that end and hold her.. Get your shit together y/n and push!!" Cillian didn't have time to react before Orla pulled him to sit behind you holding you, your back to his chest as you gripped his hands and bore down as hard as you could. There was no time to think about anything else. The pain was like nothing you'd felt before in your life. Cillian breathed with you, grimacing slightly as his knuckles were being gripped like a vice but focusing his attention on getting you through this.
Within seconds the paramedics had arrived through the door Cillian had left open downstairs and taken over from Orla, giving you a mouthpiece to breathe into.
"Gas and air babe, it'll help, just breathe in and out okay?" Cillian whispered in your ear as you did as you were told and instantly felt the pain subside slightly. One paramedic was between your legs, the other radioing the hospital to let them know what was happening and to expect a mum and baby imminently.
The room was filled with the sound of a baby's cry. You heard Orla burst into tears, whilst you and Cillian were still too in shock to fully process what was happening. The paramedics offered Cillian a pair of surgical scissors to cut the cord, before placing the tiny baby girl in your arms. At that moment you both cried, looking down at the tiny bundle who was starting to settle, searching for your breast. You instinctively fed her, and Cillian gently stroked her head.
"Where the hell were you hiding her??" You looked up at him and laughed.
"I was about to ask you, when did you put her in there?!"
************************************
Opening your eyes, you felt hands roaming over your body as you lay in bed pretending you were still asleep. Those hands knew you better though and teased between your legs making your body shudder.
"I reckon we've got 10minutes before the 'threenager' wakes up... You'd better make this quick Cillian..." You turned onto your side and opened your legs inviting his now rock hard cock to rest between them. His fingers skilfully toying your clit making you moan softly. Easing himself inside from behind you, he began thrusting slowly. The only position available to you, your swollen belly now too large for any other.
"Fuck.. y/n.. still so tight..." You arched your back into his thrusts from behind you, both of you knowing this could be the last time before you had your new baby, due any time now. This pregnancy being much less of a shock than the first - you found out about 7 weeks in and you'd blossomed quickly. You'd loved feeling the little kicks, seeing your baby on the monitors at your scans, choosing names... You'd experienced it all and had relished every single second of it, making up for missing the first one's milestones.
"This really isn't going to last long.. you feel too good... Full of my child..."
"Cill keep talking to me.. I'm close..."
"Watching your body grow... Fuck you have no idea what that's done to me.."
Your hips rocked back against him almost frantically, his fingers still pressing on that bundle of nerves drawing your orgasm even closer. Before long you came hard against him, muffling your cries into the pillow so as not to wake your daughter in the next room. He followed not long after, spilling deep inside you.
Kissing your shoulder he pulled out, running his hands over your belly again and holding you close. A sudden giggle of your daughter emitting from the doorway.
"Mama!! What was Daddy doing behind you?" You pulled the duvet over you and Cillian helped you into a sitting position, your daughter climbing in-between you.
"Ready for some breakfast Niamh?" Cillian said as he booped his daughters nose and she moved to bite him playfully.
"Baby?" She pointed to your belly.
"Not yet little lady, soon though we promise." Cillian climbed out of bed and pulled his jeans on, picking the little girl up in his arms he playfully swung her over his shoulder, her legs in the air. You laughed watching Cillian bounce her over his shoulder, blowing raspberries into her waist making her squirm and giggle. Feeling another twinge in your lower abdomen you smiled.
"Maybe sooner rather than later Niamh, I think it might be time for that sleepover at Aunty Orla's house!"
The look of shock in Cillian's eyes made you laugh. "They do say it speeds things along Cill, don't look so surprised," you winced as he called his sister.
"You ready for this?" He kissed your head as he dialled the number.
"Definitely more ready than last time!" You laughed and tweaked your daughter's nose. "Let's get your bag shall we little lady?"
"No you don't, you stay there. I'll sort her out and Orla will come pick her up. You feeling okay?"
"Yep - I'm okay, they're not too bad for now. Her bag's on the hook behind her bedroom door already packed. My bag is in the closet downstairs ready. Just need to call the midwife and we're grand okay?"
"Love you... So much..." He kissed you gently and called Orla to come pick Niamh up. Your heart felt completely full and you couldn't wait to meet your latest addition.
Ao3 Version:Â https://archiveofourown.org/works/32606833/chapters/81176392?view_adult=true
This is a mess. An absolute, blazing mess that sits before you in the middle of your workshop. The chassis was dented all to Hell, a new one having to be rebuilt and delivered to fix your custom car. The engine had parts missing that were left at the crash sight when it was towed away. One car to your name, and it was fucked up. Maybe you should have taken Starkâs sponsorship and invested in a backup. Sitting on the cement floor of the workshop, screwdriver in hand as you pry out bits and pieces of parts from the engine, taking note of the parts and working on the budget you had set out for this year's series of races, you dreaded the moment youâd see the total cost. This repair would take a nice chunk, but you still had money left over after to make sure your car was at its best. That was the thing about working with your car, it was just you and this beast of metal and speed, working as one to reach the end of the line. The screwdriver is set down at your side when you struggled too long on getting the broken interconnecting rod that links the turbine from the compressor, a sigh following as you sit back. A slow sense of dread fills you as you look at the broken parts scattering the ground, the missing parts on your list, and the purple paint that still streaks the busted carbon fiber chassis.Â
Working with Zemo was a dangerous game, which you recognized even before you shook on the arrangement he had proposed. He was wicked on the course, predictable at times but at others a ticking time bomb of what his next move may be. He was dangerous, but that is what made him damn good. He took far more risk than you usually would when it came to advancement in the race. Where you held back, he pushed forward. No wonder the man infuriated you. But this plan was the only thing you had to get things back to normal, back to the way they were where you hated Zemo with a passion and fought tooth and nail to stay better than him. You would never admit it, but without your rival, what fun was the race? See, it's not only the thrill of the chase between the driver and death, inching closer and closer with each hairpin turn and the risk of the other driver's moves. No, itâs also the thrill of having someone who wants to win just as bad as you, who is just as good and will do anything to try and progress further than you. It sets a standard, something to surpass, something to stay on level ground with when you catch yourself falling. Zemo was your equal, no matter how much you hated him. And equals like you two donât have room for a third party to jump in and surpass. The game isnât any fun when someone fucks with the rules. He had a point when it came to beating Walker down, especially since the man was already fighting you both with molotov cocktails and rocket fire in the form of playing dirty on the track. He was bringing a war to a battle just to see if he could come out on top. Despite everything telling you to stay away from Zemo and not get involved in this scheme, that it could end badly for one or both of you, you couldnât stand the idea of having Walker walk all over you like some doormat. You couldnât let him walk in as if he owned the place and could rule as he pleased.Â
He needed a reality check.Â
Your form pops and cracks as you stand, stiff from sitting on the solid ground and stretching to relieve your body of the tension. Everything felt so wrong, and you knew you had to make it right...But was this the right way to do it? âJesus, you sound like that rice cereal with the little elves. You know, snap, crackle, and pop?â You laugh lightly when your friend comes into the workshop, food in hand and dressed down from the usual luxury attire he wore when visiting. No suit and tie in sight, just the oil stained wife beater you had seen him in when pursuing your education in the states as he worked tirelessly on his little toys as you liked to call them. He sets the bag down, the scent of the food causing your stomach to growl and pinch with a hint of pain. Have you really forgotten to eat today? You hadnât noticed. âGot your favorite. Do you know how hard it is to find a restaurant that speaks English? I had to have Friday translate for me.â
âMaybe you should take a new hobby and learn the French language.â You retorted with a grin, the man shaking his head as he sets everything out. âMaybe I want you as my teacher, but youâre always busy with driving around in your fast little car and getting famous for fighting a Sokovian asshole.âÂ
âAnd youâre too busy tinkering away with your toys in your little workshop in New York. Truly Tony, donât tell me you actually want me as your teacher when your toys can teach you for me.â You pause as he rolled his eyes, watching the man for a brief moment as he turned to unwrap his burger. âSpeaking of said Sokovian connard, he came to the bar I was at last night.â The man paused mid bite on the thick patty before speaking with his mouth full. âOkay, spill, what did he want?â
âWell originally I thought he was going to cuss me and try to blame me for the failure to complete the race yesterday, but he showed me something. You know the young man who won the race yesterday, corriger? John Walker?âÂ
âYeah, I know the guy. Races for the American McLaren team and came straight from F3 to F1. Whatâd he do?âÂ
He raises a brow when you sigh, taking a seat beside him on the desk he had set the food down on and stealing the dish he had brought you. âZemo showed me proof that Walker hit his car and sent him flying into mine. And I believe he did it on purpose.â You explain, taking a bite of the food your companion got for you. You pause for a moment to chew before returning to your theory. âOn my way to the car bay, he smirked at me, and it wasnât a âI wonâ smirk- well, it kinda was, but it was rather a âI did this to youâ kind of smirk. Not necessarily an evil one but one that showed he knew exactly what he had done and was proud of it. Pride in an unfair act.â
âAnd no flags were thrown up?âÂ
âNon, not a one. As our friend the Baron said,â you cringe at the term friend, âthe ones watching the race possibly couldnât tell if he had done such on purpose or by accident. I believe him about such. And I suppose that brings me to what Iâm about to say next.â You take a breath, gaze conflicted and downcast to your food as you speak. âThe Baron offered a temporary truce of our rivalry to take down this John Walker, thus allowing us to return to what we do best after Walker is taken down.â He listened intently before his nose scrunched at the idea of such. You two working together? Ha! Thatâd never work! âAnd you said yes to this crazy idea? What the Hell are you thinking, (first name)?â Your hands shoot up in defense, gaze rising to meet his own. âI know, I know! Itâs a crazy idea, but you know as well as I do that if Zemo and I want things back to normal, back to the rivalry, we have to do this together so Walker is met with further resistance. If I could avoid it and deal with this American scum, no offense, then I would.âÂ
âSome taken, but I get it. I just wonder if you two will go back to the way things are after all of this. Who knows, maybe youâll become that dreaded word you hate to associate with him in any capacity-â
âNe t'avise pas de le dire, Anthony.â
âFriendssss.â He draws it out, causing you to roll your eyes at his antics and slap his arm with the back of your grimey hand. He pretended to show a hurt expression before chuckling when another slap came, this time to his chest. âOh hush, we will never be friends.âÂ
âI guess time will tell.â A shrug followed as Stark finished the last bite of his burger, crumbling the wrapper and lining up the shot with the waste bin in the corner. âHe shoots,â the paper lands in the bin, his arms going up in the air. âHe scores!â
âStop goofing around, ma amie. I asked for your help with this and now I need it.â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three weeks have passed, and the Germany race is upon you. The NĂźrburgring, a beast of a track that many racers to this day in Formula 1 fear like a plague sweeping the track. Your mind has been racing as you pieced your car back together and got it ready for racing. What happens if something wasnât installed in the engine right? What if you didnât get the intake vents lined up just right? You were a perfectionist with your car, and you know deep down that it was ready for race day but it made your head sing with pain as a migraine sets in. That wasnât the only thing that made it throb and bring you to lean against the chassis of your car. Zemoâs deal, it worried you sick. But you didnât have time to think about it much today. You couldnât dwell on it. You had a race to win.Â
Your eyes flick up at the speakers, listening to the message. It was press conference time. You take your seat where your name tag and flag set, giving a nod of acknowledgement to the crowd of reporters sitting and waiting to open up questioning. To your left, Walker seats himself with a boyish, charming smile that didnât quite meet those dark eyes. He looked your way, hand held out to you. âHey, I hate that we didnât get to meet earlier on. Iâm John Walker.â You glance at his hand before looking back up at him. He played a good game, acting innocent like the boy scout he tried to be. You wouldnât fall for his games, but you shook his hand briefly. â(First name) (Last name).â He grinned. âOh, I know who you are. Iâve been watching you race for years now! I hate that you crashed a couple weeks ago, would have loved to have been standing on that podium with you.âÂ
âOui, such a shame that was. But today is a new day, Mr. Walker.â Your gaze flickered to your right, startled by your rival taking his seat and looking directly at the pair of you. The Baron never sat beside you, even going as far as to request a seat change from the press conference coordinators. Some learned to keep you two separate, others knew it would incur drama, and drama made money.Â
âAlright everyone, please take your seats and the conference will begin in one moment!âÂ
âSay, did you get your car all fixed up? Must have cost a pretty penny since you donât have any sponsors.â Walker continued on, this time his gaze looking at the reporters as he gave a brief wave to the ones he recognized from the states. âOui.â He gave a huff of a laugh. âNot much of a talker, are you?â You wanted to bite back, to say something and throw hands with this man, but you would be escorted out and disqualified in a snap. âNon.â A leg bumped yours under the table and you glance at Zemo who met your gaze briefly. Those dark brown eyes questioned if you were okay, a silent question that only you understood. The slightest nod was sent his way before looking at the reporters who got things settled and ready.Â
âQuestions are now open-â The announcer was startled with the amount of questions directed in the direction of you three, clearing his throat as he nodded to your little trio at the table. Mr. Walker!â He gestured to the reporter, watching him stand and adjust his microphone and camera. âMr. Walker, this question is open to the three of you. Under allegations from the previous race at The Circuit Paul Ricard, many are wondering if you had caused the accident involving Zemo and (Last name). How do you feel about these accusations?â The man had the audacity to laugh and throw that boyish smile to the camera, rubbing at his face. âLook, that was not supposed to happen once so ever. As many of my fellow racers can attest, one wrong slip of the hand on your wheel and your car will eventually go off track. I got nervous, twitched, and just so happened to bump the Baronâs car into Ms. (Last name)âs car. I feel terrible, I truly do, but it could have happened to anyone with any driver. So I refute these accusations and continue to say this is an accident.âÂ
âAnd you, Baron, Ms. (Last name). How do you feel about the accusations?â The reporter gestured his question to you two now. âI respect your opinion, Mr. Walker,â Zemo began, the man smiling and sending a nod his way. âBut I call, as the Americans say, bullshit.â His smile fell, darkened gaze questioning the man on what the Hell he was going on about. The reporters erupted in questioning, trying to get the attention of the two racers who stare each other down around you. You lean back a bit for them to have a better view-line, One of the American reporters calling your name. You use this moment to break the tension. âOui?âÂ
âDo you believe you stand a chance as a woman against these two leading men now that John Walker is starting to gain points and nearing your total?â You blink at his question before taking a deep breath, holding it to calm your throbbing head, and releasing it slowly. âOui, I do. I believe I can keep up just as well as any racer. Take my racing career with Zemo. I have kept up with his old extrĂŠmitĂŠ arrière.â The French reporters in the room resound in a fit of chuckles, bringing a smile to your face. âAnd against Walker?â You meet his gaze as he stares at you expectantly for an answer, forcing that smile he tried to use on you earlier. âI believe I stand quite a good chance, but que le meilleur coureur gagne.â You shrug, listening as the smaller drivers get asked their questions. The whole time there are eyes burning into the left side of your head, waiting until the racers are dismissed. Walker watches you as you walk out, watching the way Zemo comes up in tow as you make your way to the car bay. Something was up, and he could feel that there were clearly doubts in your mind about the accident in France. He would just have to deal with you later. â(First name), wait!â Zemo followed you into the bay, slowing from his jog to keep up with you to a stop near the desk holding your notes about the race and your vehicle. âI havenât had a chance to talk with you in person since the bar.â He paused, looking into those eyes of yours that gaze at him curiously. âAre you ready for this, fräulein?âÂ
âAussi prĂŞt que possible, Baron.â You busy yourself with inspecting your car for any last minute changes, the man watching you as you inspect and work. âGood, good. And we are still a go, yes?âÂ
âOui, we are still, as you said, a go.â He grinned at you, gaze flickering down your back as he looked over your uniform. Of course he had noticed you in all aspects before, talent and skill being the top, but never had he been this close like the night at the bar and now to really see you. Maybe after all of this, even with the rivalry, you could be friends, dare he say anything more than such. âYouâre staring.â You quip, breaking him from his trance to meet your gaze. The faintest hint of color lingered on your cheeks. He coughed, trying to clear away the embarrassment lingering in his form. Why was he getting embarrassed? âJust thinking about what will be left behind when I pass you on the track, mein liebe.â Your eye roll doesnât go unnoticed, the man relaxing due to how calm you are around him. No biting his head off, no anger, just chill. You stand and give a playful shove to his shoulder, smiling at the Sokovian. âIn your dreams, Sokovian. Now, get the fuck out of my car bay.â He smiled to himself as he walked away, mind now clouded by the smile that lingered on your lips. He liked when you smiled, and he had to make sure this plan worked.Â
The race was gearing up to start, the same process as before coming into play. Car, balaclava, wheel. You take your moment to breathe, today your speed has placed you in second, just as the plan entailed. Zemo took the first position. He glanced your way, sending a nod in your direction, only to smirk beneath the balaclava when you flip him off like usual. The rivalry was still on, no matter what he would still have that after dealing with Walker. Still have you in one sense or another. Your glance focused in on the man across the way in the pole position opposite of you, his eyes locked on the two of you before meeting your gaze. There he stares you down, even as his helmet slipped on. The visor was flipped down at the one minute warning, eliminating the final clarifying view of his gaze. It was clear he was cautious of you, maybe even lingering with hate.Â
âFahrer! Starten...sie ihre....Motoren!
That familiar purr settles into your chest, spreading through your body like a dam breaking and flooding the valley below. It stirs up the motivation to win once more, removing any doubt from your mind as you rev your engine. Zemo was right, Walker had to be stopped. With this attitude about racing, playing his little mind games and wrecking racers, heâd get someone killed just for first place. You couldnât allow that...but you also couldnât allow the rivalry you have established with Zemo to be broken because of someone else. There was too much there to be lost. Your fingers tighten around the wheel, licking your lips beneath the helmet as you prepare yourself for takeoff. The lights start counting down the race. Five seconds away, one green and two red lights. You watch them count down until the bottom lines of red are fully lit, then they flash off. Youâre off, following Zemo right on the tail of his car as you start into the track. This track was a beast, your mind racing as it remembers every nook and cranny of it. Seventy three corners, eleven danger points, hair pin turns, all on a 12.8 mile long course that was deadly in the onset of any weather and people who get careless with their moves. Lucky enough, the sky was only overcast. No rain, little wind to interfere with the aerodynamics and mobility of the chassis, just the perfect chill in the air to remind you where you were in this moment. You take your turns with ease, avoiding the group of cars that began to follow suit on the track behind your own. Your eyes remained locked in on every shift to your side, Walker keeping close by within each turn and danger point you went through.Â
As you drive, Walker gets up past you within one of the speed trap areas, the stretch of road allowing him to be up beside Zemo and leave you on the back of their tires. Zemo had a plan, you believed in this plan⌠but had he just been toying with you to get closer to Walker? Doubt clouded your mind, even as you sped up in an attempt to join the boys directly in the front. Perhaps you shouldnât have followed this plan, even as you get through the first twenty five laps, then the next twenty five. Each turn brought your tyres closer to Walkers who eyed you cautiously from time to time, as if silently daring you to pull a move like he did. Maybe youâd be caught and black flagged. Hell, that would make his fucking day if that happened. As he watched you, he had failed to notice on the wider strip of the track how Zemo began to drift further and further ahead. Then he was side tracked, Zemo slowing abruptly and stealing the attention of the young American driver. âWhat the Hell!?â He yelled over the roar of multiple motors, watching your car join Zemoâs side and the original speed be resumed. Now you sat beside Zemo on the track, pedal to the floorboard as you two kept your lead and basically walled Walker in. Each time he tried to drift around, one of you would shift your car just enough to keep him locked in. A grin met your lips as you drove, the energy of the race taking a whole new shift as you got closer and closer to the last lap with your rival right at your side. Tips of the chassis lined up perfectly, rear aerodynamic fins aligned like a well oiled machine. You two were in perfect sync as you put Zemoâs plan into action. Create a wall of impenetrable magnitude. If Walker tried anything, all three of you would go down. If he tried to get around, he would be blocked. There was no getting out from behind you two.Â
The checkered flag waved in the quickly approaching distance, your gaze for a moment looking at your rival. The blur of purple was steady, lined with yours like that of an air jet's flight coordination. Perfectly straight, and running at full throttle like you are. As your cars pass the finish line, debate begins to rise. It was too close in the end to call, at least not right away. You slow, allowing the purple beast to pass by and enter the pit before you, a silent gesture of courtesy to the man you worked with. He sent a small nod your way when he watched you get out of your car, helmet removed along with his balaclava and revealing the joyful grin resting on his lips. Anyone else would mistaken it for cockiness, but the look in his eyes said it all. You two did it, you beat Walker in the race! He must be furious! A breath is held on your end, helmet and the fabric covering your face discarded as you turn your gaze away from the arriving racers and the man you drove along with. You were locked in on that score board, curiosity eating at you for who may have won the race. You were neck in neck with the man, the smallest push forward could earn either of you the points for the day. No names shown yet, and you anxiously leaned on the hot surface of the carbon fiber vehicle as you waited. Each noise around you from the slow dwindle of engines to low, fading purrs to the pit crews of your respective teams surrounding you, your rival, and the newcomer were drowned out by the pounding of your heart as it flooded your ear drums. It felt like hours passed as you kept your gaze locked on, ignoring the happy clamour of your crew, the clasp of hands on your shoulder and pats on your back, even down to the ruffling of your hair in glee. Then it flashed up.Â
1st: (First initial). (Last name)Â
1st: H. ZemoÂ
2nd: J. Walker
The press goes crazy over the news, each respective country reporting their amazement over the finishing results.
âEin fehlerfreier, aber Ăźberraschender Sieg fĂźr Baron Helmut Zemo, der mit (First name) (Last name) gleichauf den ersten Platz belegt!â
âVictoire pour la championne de France (First name) (Last name) alors qu'elle rejoint le Baron Helmut Zemo dans une rare ĂŠgalitĂŠ!â
âIn a remarkable and truly unprecedented event in The NĂźrburgring F1 race! Baron Helmet Zemo and (First name) (Last name) tied in a photo finish for first place, a rare occurrence that has set back American racer John Walker from the potential for first place!â
Your breath comes out shaky, slowly slipping out as reality hits you like a wrecking ball to a brick wall. The air leaves your lungs as a happy noise rings out from your lips, joining your crew in the celebration as they hug and surround you. You placed first. Zemo placed first. Curiosity met you, your gaze looking to the man who celebrated with his own crew before allowing himself a chance to settle his gaze on you in turn. There he sent a wink, a silent congratulations that made you shake your head at his antics before refocusing on the celebration. You would be standing with the man in first place on that podium, both sharing the victory wreath and spraying champagne all over the crowd of fans and your respective pit crews who were basking in the glory just as much as you two were. You couldnât help the glee bubbling up in your form, even as you make your way not too far from your rival. For a second, just a split second, you let the rivalry go and let your smile be seen in accompaniment with his gleeful grin, shoulders bumping when youâre positioned at the podium by the F1 management crew. Press swarm to the area like flies to a summer barbecue, wanting to catch a glimpse of the rivals standing together, being on the podium and sharing first place. âNot so bad working with my, as you put it earlier, old extrĂŠmitĂŠ arrière, hm?â He questioned as you two stood together, the closeness you two were forced into for the photographers far more comfortable than it would have been under any other circumstances. He blamed the feelings he had at this moment on the victory over Walker, over the rest of the racers, not even thinking that perhaps this was beyond the fact that he won but that you, his favorite rival, won alongside him. âNon, not the worst.â You joked lightly, forcing a serious face for the cameras when they began to picture you two side by side on the first place stand. He accepted the bottle of champagne before you could, holding it out. âYou may have the honor, (First name).â Your fingers brush his own as you grasp the bottle with him, popping the cork and sending the bubbly to decorate the crowd. Flash after flash met you as you stood alongside Zemo and basked in the glory of the win. âHow about drinks to celebrate? Even as rivals, I believe a drink wouldnât hurt.â He whispered the question, causing your gaze to lock on his own in brief surprise. Was he serious!? âI um..Oui, sure. Meet you in town?â He nods, gaze seeming to glimmer ever so brighter as he takes his leave. Even when you separate to get cleaned of the alcohol and switch to âcivilian clothingâ, your smile doesnât falter. Maybe it would be good for you to drink the night away with company that didnât seem as bad as you once had thought before.Â
As you begin to peel away the racing suit, the flame resistant material bunching at your waist and revealing the open expanses of your back, the simplistic bra strap over the back the only material seen, you fail to hear the seething man enter your car bay. âDo you know what you just did, Ms. (Last name)? Who you fucked with?â Walker puts his hands on your shoulders, spinning you around to face him, his face inches away from yours. âYou went and fucked with the wrong man. You could have just accepted your loss, licked your wounds, and we would have been just fine. But oh no, you had to go and fuck with my winning streak with that Sokovian piece of shit.â He huffed when you shove him back, gaze narrowed and arms crossing over your bra covered chest out of annoyance. You could care less what he saw. âI donât see why youâre so mad, Mr. Walker. You got a taste of your own medicine after that stunt you pulled back in France. You and I both know that was no accident.âÂ
âYou know what? Yeah, I did that. But I see you are working with Zemo now, which is also a big no-no in Formula 1. Seems weâre both sinners of the race. The greed of it.â His tone was a hushed, harsh whisper. There was no need to alert anyone that he was in your private quarters harassing you. âIâm nothing like you.â Your tone came out in a hiss, his downturned lips curving up into a grin at your response. âOh sweetheart, I beg to differ.â He chuckled at the narrowed gaze he was met with. âYou and your Sokovian boy toy need to back off. Let this happen like it should or youâll not like what happens next.â
âAnd just what do you think youâll do, John? Because all Iâm hearing right now is a lot of talking with no proof of any big execution.â Your lazy grin and scoff of annoyance at his presence left him to raise his hands in mock defeat, hands coming to rest on your shoulders once more with a harsh grip that made your body tense and hold you there. He leaned in, even as you tried to lean away, his lips moving in close near your ear. âDonât say I didnât warn you, Frenchie. I will do anything to win. You best remember that.â His tone alone makes your body betray you, the calm, cool, and collected front slipping as a shiver ran up your spine at his warning. And with that, he leaves you to get dressed for the night.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zemo texts you an address for a bar off the beaten path in Cologne, Germany, further than you had anticipated in going from the track but a welcomed change of scenery. âDonât say I didnât warn you, Frenchie. I will do anything to win. You best remember that.â The words stick with you, even as you drive the main road into the big city, looking for the bar Zemo had invited you to. It was connected to a hotel, a fancy hotel at that, with old architecture and lavish exterior. You could only imagine the interior! A nervous breath is taken as you get out of the car, gaze meeting the man you had just won with. He smiled at you, clothing casual and the air around him feeling far more comforting now than ever. The incident with Walker had left you rattled, sending your nerve endings to buzz and let your body know that you arenât okay. Even though you felt off, you force a smile to the man who wrapped a friendly arm around your shoulders and led you in to sit at the quiet bar. âSo, did I not tell you the plan would work?â
âI just thought it was your cockiness talking, but I will admit, though it physically pains me to do soâŚâ You pause, biting your lip. âWell?â You sigh. âYou were right.â The words come out struggled and forced, the man's grin growing at such. âAh~, I donât believe I caught that.â âOh va te faire foutre!â He chuckled at your words, hand raised towards the bartender to get you drinks. âWhat are you ordering?â
âShots. We deserve something to toast our victory to, and I donât believe champagne is your drink of choice.â He offered you one of the smaller glasses, his own raised before him as he locks those bright brown eyes with your own. âEin Prost! To us, and our victory over John Walker. May that American schwein taste defeat again.â You raise your glass, hoping to drink away any thoughts about Walker's warning and leave it for the next day. Throwing caution to the wind, you decided right then and there that you would finally have fun and disregard the night that you sat across from your rival. Tonight you just wanted to drink. âĂ la vĂ´tre!â The drink is bitter as it hits your throat and travels down your body, causing a warmth to spread soon after. Kuemmerling, a bitter concoction of herbaceous and bittersweet flavors. A drink of choice for Zemo it seemed because soon after the shots were downed, he ordered another round.Â
Shot after shot after shot is taken down until your body is leaning against his own and a joke that is shaky at best from his part sends you into a roar of laughter. He holds you close, laughing right along with you. âSo... Itâs Barenjar?â He snorts at your piss poor pronunciation of the new liquor joining the mix, shaking his head at you as he looks on with drunken vision. âNien, nien, Bärenjäger. Say it with me. Bä-â
âBä-â
âRen-â
âRen-â
âJäger!â
âMick Jagger?âÂ
He laughs in defeat, shaking his head as he watched you. So relaxed, so calm. He hasnât seen you like this before in his life. Heâs startled by your sudden movements after downing your last shot for the night, catching you as you try to stand and stumble as your feet betray you. Your body landing against his, his arms slotting themselves around your waist as your drunken gaze catches his own. Those brown eyes of his are hypnotizing, keeping your gaze locked on his own. âI have something to confess, (First name).â He paused to wet his lips, trying to piece the words together in his hazy mind. âI have liked you since the day I met you.â He finally blurts out, fingers moving up to brush away a stray strand of hair that had fallen into your eyes. âYouâre infuriating, yet calming. Stubborn and determined. Your smile is lovely and those eyesâŚâ He trails off, leaving your hazy mind questioning what was going to come after, but you hardly have time to think about it as he pressed in closer, face inches from your own. The smell of Bärenjäger and Kuemmerling lingered on his breath as it fanned over your face, those brown eyes searching for something in your own. âCan you feel it, the connection we have? Can you see that we are not just rivals now?â His tone was just barely above a whisper, questioning you with a hint of desperation to his tone.Â
âOui.âÂ
That was the only answer he needed. His lips are on yours with fever and desperation, hands clinging to your form for dear life after hearing the words that sent him to fully fall into the feeling of you. You were his comfort, the one constant thing in his life. His rival...but right now you were the woman he sloppily kissed at the hotel bar as the bartender tried to catch his attention to tell you that you both were cut off for the night. His hands moved to grip at your thigh and tangle in your hair, abandoning the idea of holding anything back, the liquor giving him courage to make a move on you. He has wanted to do this for years, touch you, feel you, have you there with him in any way he could. He separated only when the threat of security was offered by the bartender, lips kiss swollen and a faint pant falling from them. âCome.â His hand takes hold of yours, leading you along to the lift and up to his room for the night. This hotel that he called home for the time being would serve well for what he had in mind to do to you. He led you inside, not even waiting for the door to close as he captured your lips once more, hands taking your rear in his grasp and hoisting you up so your legs wrapped around him, back pressed up against the closest wall he could find. He held you there, lips separating to begin trailing hungry kisses down the column of your throat and allow his hands to trace along your sides. His fingers slipped beneath the fabric of your shirt to feel the bare skin there, wanting what he has longed for since the day he met you. A noise fell from your lips as he lazily suckled a mark over your pulse point, your fingers tangling into his dark hair and tugging the locks when his hips grounded against your own. He couldnât help the fire blooming in his body, needy for the creature that has teased him for all these years, The one he thought he would never have a chance with because of their hate for each other on the track. He needed you, and in your current state, you were willing to accept any touch he offered. He was just Helmut Zemo tonight. Not your rival, not the Baron, just Helmut. And you were his (First name).Â
A groan left his lips when you pulled him by his hair away from your neck, hands working to take your shirt up and over your head. Throwing it aside, he looked at you with a gaze of admiration. It was similar to the gaze he gave when looking at the new modifications to his car, taking pride in the beauty of things that drove him to win. He dampens his lips, fingers lazily dragging up the expanses of your back from bottom to top, resting on the clasp of the garment covering your breast. âDarf ich?â Your nod was all he needed, the clasp undone with skilled fingers that knew precision, holding still on your back when your arms rose to take the garment and throw it in an unknown direction to be forgotten about for the time being. He wasted no time with taking one of your breasts in hand, fingers running over the sensitive bud of one while he took the other in his mouth, suckling and lavishing with his tongue. He took his time, drunken yet slowly sobering mind savoring each and every noise that fell from your lips as he toyed with your body. Youâre barely into foreplay and he already has your panties soaked, the Baron being a creature that knows exactly what buttons to push to get you going without even knowing your body. He was skilled, that much was for sure in your mind as he switched to the other breast, paying equal attention to each. Those brown eyes of his donât leave your face for a second, watching every reaction and trying to commit them to memory. If he could only have you tonight, he wanted to remember everything he possibly could. Every detail of your body, everything that drew a hitched breath or a low moan from your lips. Every shaky breath and the way your body would press closer to his greedy mouth and hand. He stored it all away. Maybe heâd wake up the next day and fancy this a pleasant dream...It wouldnât be the first time heâs gotten worked up by thinking about you.Â
His hand traveled downward, cupping your sex through your pants as his own grinds up against your thigh, straining through the fabric of his pants. He ached for you, for your heated skin to be pressed against his own in a delicious rut of bodies. He traced along the seam, hearing the low whine that fell from your lips as he teased you through the material. âHelmut, stop for a moment.â The man paused all actions, his gaze shifted to a worried state as he met your eyes and spoke with concern. âAre you alright, mein liebling?â
âOui.â Your fingers trace his jaw, the man's face briefly pressing in against your palm before delivering a soft kiss to the area. A tender gesture that sent butterflies to flutter in your stomach and heart to speed further than the foreplay had already caused. âI just...Take me to the bedroom. Please?â You preferred not being right beside the door where anyone could listen in, where anyone could hold a camera up to the peephole and record the sexual pleasures of the infamous Wildcard and Baron. That would make a top headline, wouldnât it? He gave a chuckle at your demand, nodding as he kept his grip on you, your legs wrapping just a hint tighter around him as he moved you both to the bedroom. Heâs gentle with setting you down, looking down at you when you unwrap your arms and legs from his form. âScheiĂe, du bist perfekt.â He slowly worked on the buttons of his shirt, working each plastic piece through the loop with fingers that were known for precision on the course. A shift in his steering, taking hold of the semi-automatic paddle-shifters as he drove, it was all well calculated and that applied on and off the track. His shirt is shrugged off his shoulders, thrown aside before focusing on the belt on his pants. He gets it off with what can only be deemed a darkening gaze, knowing heâs getting closer and closer to having you. You rose to let your hands trail his chest, roaming over the lean muscle that rested there as feather light kisses met his collarbone. A shiver met his spine, shooting up in bliss as he allowed a moment to savor the feeling of you touching his skin. Your skin was so warm, so inviting. He was getting lost in everything.Â
Your fingers shift down his torso, trailing his abdomen before looping in the belt loops of his pants to pull him forward, a low growl falling from his lips when you place a kiss above the waistline of his pants. Your movements were confident, unzipping his trousers and tugging them down to reveal the tent hidden behind his underwear. He swallowed thickly as he kicked his pants off, watching your every move as you cup him through the thin fabric, thumb moving to brush over the leaking tip and cause a shaky breath to leave him. âMaus-â A groan leaves his lips when a jerk through the fabric is given, his head falling back briefly. He huffed when you repeated the motion, fingers anxious to wrap around his bare flesh and feel that hot skin in the palm of your hand. But he stops you, hand wrapping around your own and bringing it to his lips once more. âTonight is not about me, maus.â Youâre surprised when the man placed his hand on your chest, lightly pushing you back to lay on the bed as he slowly sank down onto his knees, âEs geht nur um dich.â His lips drag slowly across your skin, trailing light kisses and nips along your abdomen and resting at the waist of your pants. He glanced up, a silent question of courtesy offered your way as his fingers loop in the band, asking permission like a proper gentleman. âGo ahead.â Your voice is barely above a whisper, his presence making you feel like youâre floating higher and higher on this ride with him. He gave a tug, your rear lifting and back arching to aid the man as he pulled your pants down and let them fall to join the scattered articles around the room. Youâd have to go on a damn scavenger hunt just to find your clothes! But none of that mattered now, not when his hot breath is fanning over your needy core and face nuzzling at your thighs. He placed a kiss to your inner thigh before another followed, then another as he began to trail inward towards your covered core. âAufgeregt?â He purred in questioning, a low rumble of a chuckle coming from deep within his chest spilling out at the small nod he is met with, loving how he has left you damn near speechless just by being so close. Your hips jump back before he gets a grip on them, his tongue moving over the wet fabric and causing a light whine to spill from your lips. âHelmut, please.â Oh, hearing you speak his name only egged him on further, needing you. He needed to taste you, to feel you. He needed you in every way, and his drunken mind only pushed him on to pull the fabric away from your legs and stare at the glory that is you. So wet, so beautiful. He wasted no more time, bringing your legs to hook over his shoulders and delved into the intoxicating honey pot he had been offered. He started off slowly, a long lap from entrance to clit given before the motion was repeated just to hear the noise that left your lips with each swipe. Zemo was mapping you out, taking note of what areas made your thighs twitch and tense, what areas made your hips jump back at the sensitivity of his touch, and what made those oh so delicious noises spill from your mouth.Â
He allows his tongue to focus in on your clit, flicking the bundle of nerves in a rhythm that sends your head to spin and moan after moan to spill from your lips. âMerde!â He smirked against your core when your hand shot down to tangle in his locks, needing stability after he took your clit between his lips and suckled. He repeats the motion, gaze locked on your own and watching the sudden shock of the feeling run through your body. You were so reactive, and just for him. A lazy lick is given to the sensitive bundle of nerves, watching your hips jerk lightly and seeing the tremble that began to settle into your thighs. âClose?â He questioned as if he was questioning about an everyday thing, totally not giving the impression he was getting you close to orgasm just with that sinful tongue and lips of his. O-Oui.â Your tone was shaky, breathy, eyes half lidded and watching his every move on you. âGut.â A gasp fell from your lips when he sank a digit into your hot, needy core, arching along the way and searching for the sweet spot deep within. He wasnât like the inexperienced boys who would just jab their fingers into their partner and hope it hits something. No, his fingers curled, probed, dragged and felt for that spot in a way that showed his experience. A second digit is added not too long after the first, probing the flesh within until he hears your moan and finds that spot that drives you to clamp your thighs around his head. A groan left his lips at the rush of slick is met with each probe, massaging that spot within you and only adding to the tension building in your core. Each throb he was met with only spurred him on. He was on a mission to bring you over the edge, and he would do anything to get you off. When his mouth returned to your still sensitive clit, tongue flicking of the bundle and including the occasional suckle while his fingers moved deep within, you were done for. A rough tug is given to his hair as your body convulses, thighs clamping around him and grinding your hips down against his eager tongue. He helps you ride out your orgasm, lapping at your clit until you give a light shove to his head to make him stop. A wicked smile crosses his features as he gives one final suckle, a squeak leaving your lips at the motion and shoving him back as much as your trembling body allows. He can only chuckle at the attempt, fingers removing from your throbbing core. He watched your gaze land on him when you caught sight of the digits, watching the man move his glance to them as if he was inspecting them before a quiet whimper left your lips when they were taken one by one into his mouth. He made it a show, teasing you as he cleaned each digit of your juices in a slow motion. Sinking down to the knuckle before returning and licking at whatever was left. âTease.â You huffed, chest rising and falling steadily with your hammering heart. âOh you know you like it.â He retorted, lazily letting his body climb up and over yours on the plush mattress.Â
He pushed the final material separating you from him away, throwing the underwear away before letting himself settle in against your body. Zemo wasted no time in wrapping your legs around his waist, lips joining yours as he lined up with you, one hand taking hold of your hip while the other took hold of your hair, tugging it back enough to have access to your neck. As he begins to ease himself within you, his lips attach at a section of your neck, a harsh mark left in his wake as he sinks inch by inch within the lightly pulsing core that he toyed with before. A groan was left against your skin when he was fully settled, grip rough on your hip but movements gentle as he waited for you to adjust. He was no animal, not cruel! He knew that there was a possibility for pain if he moved too soon, and even in his drunken haze he recognized the look in your eyes, the slight twinge of pain from his size alone. The stretch wasnât unpleasant, no, but it was an intrusion you werenât quite used to when normally doing this. He lightly placed kisses to sooth you along the mark he left, trailing them up the underside of your chin, going along your jaw before soon connecting with your lips in a soft kiss. Something to distract you until you were ready for him to move. A shift of your hips was given when you tested the feeling of him in you, the moan that left your lips causing a low growl to fall from his own. He lifted his body to loom over yours, hand moving from your hair to cup a breast as he sets a slow, deep and even borderline sensual pace within your core. Slowly out until the tip stayed just barely in before plunging deeply into your warm, wet depths. He huffed with each push of his cock within your core, meeting your moans with a faint groan here or a soft growl there when your walls gripped him just right. He was losing composure with each faint twitch of your walls around him, pace beginning to pick up into a steady rhythm that developed the noise of slick skin hitting skin and the bed beneath to creak ever so slightly with each movement. âVerdammt!â He could tell how your walls began to tighten around him, how each noise leaving your lips grew louder and louder. His poor neighbors, hearing you both so vividly through the walls of the hotel. Yet he didnât care who heard. As long as they knew that in this moment, you were his to take, that was all that mattered. Zemo moved his thumb to your clit, working the bundle along with the assault he laid on your sensitive spot deep within. Each clamp around him brought his own release to come closer and closer. âCum for me, maus.â He demanded with a grunt, needing to feel you come undone to reach his own release. His words hit somewhere deep in you, the demand that was laced with a plea driving you to your second orgasm of the night. He groaned as he felt you clamp around him, the sensation alone causing him to remove himself from you and spill onto your stomach with a few quick pumps of his hand along his slick coated member. He pants, taking in the sight of you one final time for the time being. Messy, slickened by your own arousal and sweat. Your hair was messed up, your lips parted and panting. To add the cherry on top, you were coated in his release, a sight for sore eyes while you lay like this. He made you like this, and it swells his drunken ego.Â
Slowly he eased down to lay at your side, bringing you in against him with an almost delicate kiss delivered to your temple. Your breathing slowly evened out, head resting against his chest as his fingers trail along your back, drawing imaginary patterns as his mind begins to blank. The alcohol was taking effect, causing him to enter a lull and for his eyes to flutter shut. As you lay there, catching your breath, you watch as he drifts away, a single question beginning to enter your sobering mind.Â
Sticks and Stones
Pairing:Â Natasha Romanoff x fem!Reader
Warnings: death (it gets pretty depressing)
Word Count:Â 3.5k
A/N: I do recommend reading Chapter 1 before this one, which you can find here.
Fair warning, I normally donât read angst, let alone write it, so this could all be a failed attempt at a depressing storyline. But hey, I tried :) And thank you so much @vancityfire13 for helping me out with this chapter!
âMama, I donât want to go to school. I think Iâm sick,â Igor trudged into the kitchen, his steps heavy and his brows knit together.
âYou donât feel warm, Igoryok. Why donât you sit down and have some breakfast and then weâll see how things go, yeah?â Igor nodded reluctantly as Natasha carded her fingers through his hair, trying to tame the beeâs nest that had formed on his head while he was asleep. When you entered the kitchen, you quickly adopted a look to match the frown on Igorâs face.
âWhatâs wrong, Iggy?â
âI donât feel good.â You copied Natasha, feeling his forehead but finding it perfectly normal.
âWhat doesnât feel good, Igoryok?â Your frowns only deepened when he shrugged.
âIf you donât tell us, we canât help you.â
âI just donât feel good, okay?â Both of you flinched slightly at his anger. Although he could get rambunctious and excited at times, Igor was generally sweet, always offering to share his toys with other kids and giving you and Nat random hugs âjust because I love you.â Plus, he was four, and you werenât expecting the attitude for another couple of years at least. After sharing a concerned glance with your wife, you knelt down and held Igorâs hand in yours, noticing his bottom lip wobbling and his eyes beginning to shine.
âIgor, sweetheart, whatâs the matter? Why donât you want to go to school?â
âItâs okay, Igoryok, you can tell us anything,â Nat reassured him when he started to cry, gently rubbing his back in an effort to soothe him.
âI donât want to see Jackson.â You squeezed his hand, urging him to continue. You knew Jackson and his family; Jackson had even come over to play a couple of weeks ago. While you tried to keep the conversation going, you saw Natasha tense up the second Igor finished the sentence.
âWhy donât you want to see Jackson, honey? Did something happen?â
âJackson said Iâm stupid because my letters donât look right, and he said I was a baby for having light-up sneakers. And he pulled me down when we were playing tag.â
âAnd your teachers didnât say anything?â Natasha gritted out. It was obvious she was trying to stay calm for Igorâs sake, but any second now and Mount Vesuvius was about to explode, bringing all of Pompeii with it. Igor shook his head, his whole body trembling as he cried.
âThey didnât see it. He waited until recess and we were in the back of the playground behind the slides.â
âIgor, sweetie, why didnât you tell them?â You tried wiping the tears off of his face as they fell, but they were quickly replaced by new ones.
âHe said if I did heâd tell the whole class I was a weirdo because I wet the bed.â You butted in before Nat could start yelling, placing a hand on top of hers to try to remind her of the situation.
âI see. Igor, do you think any of the things he said were true?â
âNo.â The muttered answer was hard to hear, but it was there.
âThatâs right, theyâre not. So donât let that boy get in your head for one second, okay? For every bad thing that he says to you, I want you to remind yourself of at least one good thing about yourself, okay?â
âOkay, Mom.â
âWhy donât you start right now? Tell me three things you like about yourself.â
âUm, I draw good dinos.â
âThatâs right,â you smiled. âMama and I love when you give us dino pictures.â
âMaybe I can draw you one today in school.â
âWeâd love that, Igoryok. Two more, buddy.â The redhead had relaxed slightly, her fingers beginning to comb through his hair once again.
âIâm good at soccer. And I have cool cleats.â You nodded at him, rubbing small circles over the back of his hand to encourage him to continue. By this point, his crying stopped, and he only paused every so often to let out a hiccup.
âI can read some of the big kid books in the library. Mr. Goldman says that itâs very impressive for a four-year-old.â Natasha chuckled as Igor puffed out his chest, Jacksonâs insults long forgotten.
âIt is very impressive. So-â
âWait, Mama, I have one more!â
âAnd what would that be?â the redhead smiled.
âI have the two best mamas in the entire world. And they love me so much, and I love them so much too.â It took everything in you not to cry at that moment, and one look at Natashaâs face told you she was struggling as well.
âThatâs right, Ig. Mama and I love you more than anything or anyone in the entire world, more than you could ever imagine. You never forget that, promise?â
âI promise, Mom, but donât cry! Itâs happy!â
âIâm very happy,â you whispered, giving him the tightest hug you could without crushing him.
âIgoryok, I need you to listen to me.â The four-year-old nodded as he turned to give your wife his full attention. âWhen Jackson says mean things to you, you tell him to stop, okay? Donât be mean, but tell him firmly.â
âFirmly,â he repeated.
âAnd if he doesnât stop, you tell your teacher. Okay?â
âOkay, Mama.â
âMiss Olivia is going to pick you up from school today, but Mom and I are going to talk to your teachers about Jackson as soon as we can, we promise.â
âOkay, Mama. Does that mean you and Mom are going to fight the bad guys again?â
âYes, but just for a little bit. Weâll be back in time for dinner. Which means you have to be good for Miss Olivia or you canât have any dessert,â Nat winked.
âNow, group hug and then itâs time to go to school,â you ordered, wrapping your arms around the two of them.
-
Igor remained mostly quiet on the car ride to school, which wasnât unusual for him, but you and Nat found yourselves checking on him regardless.
âMom, in school, Miss Taylor told us âsticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me.â Is that what she means, with Jackson?â
âWell, yes. Basically, it means that when people say mean things about us, like the things that Jackson said to you, we shouldnât let it hurt us.â
âHow do you do that?â
âYou do what we did at breakfast. You know in your heart that what he says isnât true, so you ignore it. And then you remind yourself of all the good things about yourself.â
âOkay, Mom.â
âWe love you, buddy,â Natasha reminded him as she brought the car to a stop. âIf anything else happens, you tell us and weâll help you, okay?â
âYes, Mama. I love you too.â
âAlright. Then you have the best, most amazing day at school, okay, lovebug?â
âI will, Mom. Bye bye!â With a kiss on each of your cheeks, Igor put on the Avengers backpack that was half his size and jumped out of the car to meet his teacher and friends at the front of the school. With Igor out of the car, Natashaâs anger returned ten-fold.
ââSticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me,â huh? Thatâs the best they can teach?â
âNat-â
âYou know itâs outdated, and itâs totally not true at all! Of course words can hurt, you know that, Y/N!â
âI know,â you murmured, thinking back to all the pain and chaos a bunch of reporters had caused over some rumors about the Avengers.
âAnd who does that kid think he is talking about Igor like that?â
âNatty, heâs four.â
âBeing four doesnât give you an excuse to be a bully!â
âYouâre right, it doesnât,â you sighed, âbut being four means he has time to change. You know that at this age they usually get it from seeing other people do it.â Two minutes of driving in silence passed before Natasha spoke up again.
âYouâre right,â she sighed, her shoulders slowly dropping. âIt just makes me so angry that heâd do that to him. And Igor didnât do anything about it. What if something else happens in the future and he doesnât protect himself? Igor doesnât even wet the bed anymore. He knows that and he still let that kid scare him. Or what if Igor doesnât want to tell us when bad things happen?â The longer she spoke, the softer her voice became as anger dissolved into sadness and concern.
âWell,â you placed your hand over hers that rested on your thigh, âthe good thing is Igor is also four. Itâs good that something like this happened now rather than later because we have time to talk to him and teach him that weâll always be there for him. Today was one step towards that. Itâll be okay, Nat. Weâll make sure it is. Especially if weâre going to have another little one on the way.â Your wife smiled at that.
âIgorâs going to be an amazing brother.â
âHe really is,â you laughed as you picked up her hand and linked her fingers in yours.
âI will admit, though,â your eyes returned to your wifeâs face in time to notice her quirk an eyebrow, âI thought weâd have some more time before we had to deal with the âsick to get out of schoolâ trick.â
âYou and me both,â you giggled. âThat kid is too smart for his own good.â
âHow much do you want to bet he learned it from Tony?â
âWell, he definitely didnât learn it from Steve.â All the remaining tension in the car dissolved as you two chuckled at the thought.Â
When the car became quiet once more, you brought her hand up to your lips. âI. Love. You,â you murmured, each word punctuated with a kiss to her knuckles.
âI love you more. And everythingâs going to be okay,â she repeated, more so reassuring herself than you.
âIt is. Now, letâs go over that mission plan one last time. We have some butts to kick.â
---
âOkay, Steveâll meet you guys at the rendezvous point. Get in, and get out. And donât let yourselves get caught. Itâs just an info grab, but itâs an important one.â
âGot it, Hill. See you later.â After ending the call with Maria, you turned to Natasha. âYou ready, hon?â
âYeah, I just canât help but shake this feeling. I know the missionâs short, butâŚâ You tilted your head slightly to meet her eyes, which was a bit difficult since sheâd lowered her gaze to the floor.
âNo, I get it. I think itâs just the events of this morning, yeah? And it definitely doesnât help that we canât have outside communication.â After a recent mission gone wrong, Fury had temporarily prohibited all outside communication on missions unless absolutely necessary, meaning you and Nat would only be able to communicate with each other until Steve picked you guys up. âLetâs just finish this mission and get back to Igor. Thingsâll be better after that.â
âYouâre right,â the redhead agreed, giving you an uneasy smile. You rolled your neck once before giving your wife a quick peck on the cheek.
âAlright, letâs do this.â
---
âWhere have you guys been? Iâve been waiting for two hours!â His check and money was lying on the table, his meal eaten long ago.
âSorry, Rogers, a minor complication meant we had to be a bit more careful. But we got all the info, and thereâs no trouble.â Natasha slid a small flash drive across the booth. He simply nodded, pocketing the device and standing up.
âLetâs go.â
âEverything okay, Steve?â
âUm, yeah. Fury asked that you guys stop by the tower first though.â You frowned, prompting Nat to slip her hand into yours.
âIs it important? We wanted to get back and see Igor. We told him weâd be back for dinner, and weâre already late.â Before Steve could respond, a waitress walked up to the table.
âOh, hey! I see your friends are here. Do you guys want to place an order?â
âUm, actually, Iâm so sorry. Something came up and we have to go. Thank you so much, though.â
âOf course, have a nice night, guys.â You flashed the waiter a smile and handed her two twenty dollar bills as an apology before following Steve out of the restaurant.
âSteve, whatâs going on?â
âNothing,â he responded, his voice void of emotion.
âCâmon, you know neither of us is buying that. Is everyone okay?â
âJust hurry up,â he muttered. He was walking so quickly that you and Nat were practically jogging to keep up. You shared a worried glance with Natasha, but neither of you spoke up again.
-
After a thirty-minute drive, youâd reached the tower, and Steve sent the two of you up to Furyâs office without another word.
âDo you think we did something wrong, Natty?â
âI donât see what we couldâve done wrong. Weâll find out soon enough, though,â she sighed. She sent you a small smile in an effort to calm you, as she could tell you were becoming quite anxious, but she was rather nervous herself.
Fury was waiting for you guys when the elevator doors opened, which only served to make the two of you even more on edge than you were before.
âRomanoff, L/N, follow me please.â He led you to his office, his demeanor stoic and unreadable as per usual, but something was off. As you placed a hand on Natâs lower back, you found her spine to be stiff. She mustâve sensed it too. âSit.â The three of you sat in silence for about thirty seconds, during which you realized what was wrong. The twinkle he always had in his eyes, whether from playfulness, determination, or something in between, was missing. That realization was enough to make you crack.
âFury. Whyâd you call us in here? I hate to rush you but weâve got a kid to go home to.â You and your wife noticed when he flinched at your last sentence.
âRight.â Both of you stared at him expectantly but quickly became agitated when he didnât seem to make any move to continue.
âFury. What is it.â You placed a hand on Natâs arm before she could jump out of the chair, but if he didnât speak in about two seconds youâd be right there with her.
âWe received a call about three hours ago about a car crash. A massive pileup caused by a drunk driver during the school rush hour. Two people were seriously injured.âÂ
âI- I donât understand. You want us to help with a car crash?â you asked, your voice shaky but light. âFury, with all due respect, this is ridiculous. This isnât our area of-âÂ
âWhy are you telling us about this?â Natasha cut into your rambling.
âRomanoff⌠this was three hours ago. Just outside of the elementary school.â
Three hours ago. What was three hours ago? Three hours ago wouldâve been when Olivia was bringing Igor back home from school. But that couldnât be what Fury was talking about. It was a different kid, a different family, maybe even a different school; Fury hadnât been specific. No, you and Nat would go back home and theyâd both be there. They had to be there.Â
âBy the time the ambulance got there, paramedics suspected that they were both gone. They called time of death at the hospital. Iâm so sorry.â You couldnât tell when exactly your heart stopped beating, when all the blood left your face. He couldnât be talking about what you thought he was. He wasnât even looking you in the eye, dammit.
âGone? What do you mean by gone? Whoâs âtheyâ?â You spoke in a whisper, not able to speak any louder. With each second that passed, you could feel Natâs forearm getting tighter as she clenched her fists harder and harder.
âFury,â Natasha finally spoke, her voice gravelly, âIf youâre telling me what I think youâre telling me, youâre going to have to be very clear with me. So what. Are. You. Saying.â
âIgor is dead. Your son is dead. Iâm so-â
âStop saying youâre sorry!â This time it was Natâs turn to hold you back, grabbing onto your waist when you slammed your hands on Furyâs desk. âYou have no reason to be sorry, heâs not- No, youâre wrong. That doesnât make any sense. How in the hell would there be a drunk driver at 3 in the afternoon? No, youâre wrong! Nat, heâs wrong, right?â You looked at your wife, eyes shining, but her expression was unreadable. Her arms were crossed against her chest as she stood in the center of the room, and you couldnât help but remember the last time she looked that aloneâat the SHIELD party all those years ago.
---
She was standing in the corner with her back to everyone in the room. You didnât believe it was her at firstâsure, redheads werenât that common, but how could it be her? You hadnât seen her in months, although it wasnât from lack of trying. Besides, this woman looked so unbelievably⌠small. And sad. And alone. This was a party, for heavensâ sake, and she looked like she was stuck in solitary confinement. None of those sounded anything like the woman youâd met.
But with a shake of your head, you turned back to the bar, taking a sip from your drink with the intent of clearing her from your mind. You got over her months ago, Y/N. It was literally just one date. Stop thinking about her. Besides, what are the chances she works for SHIELD anyway?
Yet, ten minutes later, the woman remained in her place and looked just as pitiful as she did when you first saw her. Your mind couldnât stop your legs from swinging off of the chair and walking over to her.
âUm, excuse me?â Your heart stopped when you saw her face. It was her. She was glammed up for the party, but it was Nat, and she looked just as beautiful as the first time youâd seen her.Â
âY/N?â Your heart caught in your throat for a second as if you hadnât thought that it could be her, not allowing you to respond until after youâd taken another sip from your drink.
âNat.â You didnât know what else to say. You hadnât really planned it out, to be honest. Your body just kind of⌠brought you here. The two of you just stared at each other, neither of you too sure of what to say. Suddenly, all the anger youâd had towards her over the past few months pushed its way to the surface. âDid you lose my number or something? Get a new phone?â
âY/N, I- what are you doing here?â
âReally? We had an amazing first date, you told me you canât wait for the next one, and then you didnât talk to me for months? And then, when I do find you, thatâs all you have to say? I mean, obviously I was the fool for believing yo-â
âAre you stalking me?â Her eyes narrowed.
âAre you serious right now? No, Iâm not stalking you! I work for SHIELD now, which you would know if you didnât freaking ghost me!â
âYou- you work for SHIELD?â
âYes, Iâve been working for SHIELD for six months.â
âY/N, Iâm sorry, I⌠I have to go.â You watched her, your eyes blazing and nostrils flaring, as she walked out of the room. She never came back that night.
---
âI have to go,â Nat interrupted the silence.
âNatasha, wait. You really shouldnât be going anywhere like this.â Fury stood from his chair but remained behind his desk.
âIâm going home.â
âNatasha, please, just hold on a seco-â Unlike that night, you followed Nat out of the room. The two of you were out the door before Fury could stop you.
-
When you got home, the house was dark and Oliviaâs car wasnât there. That didnât deter either of you, though.
âIgor! Igor! Momâs home!â
âIgoryok, itâs Mama!â When neither of you heard a response, the two of you frantically began running through the house. You searched room after room, checking each one and the hallway closet at least three times. When your legs turned to lead and you couldnât breathe any longer, you dropped to your knees, completely unaware of what part of the house you were in.
Thatâs how Natasha found youâin Igorâs room, sobbing, your knees digging deep into the hardwood floors and your head resting on his pillow right next to his stuffed pig and the green baby blanket he refused to sleep without.
âY/N,â she murmured, her voice broken and tears trailing down her flushed cheeks. Your wife stumbled her way over to you and collapsed by your side. Wrapping an arm around your shoulder, she pulled you as close as she could, and you let her.
-
The two of you cried for what felt like a million lifetimes, not stopping until you physically ran out of tears, your eyes so dry that it hurt to open them. Your head leaned against Natâs shoulder. Both of you stared at the wall ahead of you with an empty gaze, the only sound heard in the room being your shallow breaths.
âYou were right,â you whispered, your throat dry.
âAbout what?â Natâs voice was as quiet and hollow as yours.
âSticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me.â Miss Taylor had told your son that words could never hurt him, but she was wrong. Hearing the words that Igor was dead; that your son was gone; that you would never get to see him earn his high school diploma, or get a job that he was passionate about, or grow up to be a happy adult, or even hug him one last time; that you would never get to see him become an amazing warrior like youâd predicted just five years agoâthose words caused you the most pain youâd ever felt in your entire life.
...surprise part 3
{part1} {part 2}
I got there in the end!!!! sorry I felt like this dragged quite a lot but just quite happy to get it done ahah. Any feedback / advice would be greatly appreciated :)
TW: this is pretty heavy angst, miscarriages / thoughts of self harm / death pls don't read if this could strike a cord xÂ
Summary: Y/n has absolutely not a clue how to tell Tom and that only strains the both incredibly.Â
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The drive home was deathly silent. Tomâs Audi seamlessly drove down the near-empty roads on a sleepy Sunday evening. The whole time Y/n sat with one leg curled up by her chest as she absently stared out of the passenger window. Honestly, though, she was not taking anything of the view in, all processing power in her brain was in overdrive. Souly focused on how the fuck she was going to tell Tom what she had done. She knew Tom kept glancing over at her, with the panicked hint to his eyes- no matter how comforting he was trying to appear. His grip on the steering wheel was every tightening, he felt as though right now that was the only control he had. Still with no idea what was going on - but this time his mum knew too. And his mum when she came to get him from the living was not calm either.
Something he always admired about his mum was how cool she was in a crisis. Even if Paddy likened her to the ârage monsterâ at times when she was pissed because heâd left the freezer door open, or something equally as stupid, when it came down to it, when there was a really serious issue⌠she was composed. Calm and collected. So when she came in and called Tom, taking him away from his brothers, he could tell something was wrong by the look in her eye. She was upset, that was clear to him, but there was something more. It wasnât straight up panic (not like if Y/n had passed out or something) but it was⌠it was a quiet urgency.
It meant it was bad.
Without the need to ever consider it, Tom knew this wasnât anything to do with Y/n being unfaithful. It hadnât even crossed his mind. And that meant, something must've happened personally to Y/n - which maybe scared him even more. If it was a betrayal of him, that would principally hurt Tom himself - which would kill him, but he would deal with it. It was the fear of the unknown and the complete powerlessness in this situation that had Tom wishing the drive away so heâd finally understand.
The drive felt painstakingly long for Tom⌠yet far too short for Y/n to come up with a plan.
When the pair finally pulled into the driveway, they both didnât even exchange glances before heading out the car and slamming the doors shut. The crunch of their shoes on the gravel path to the front door was deafeningly loud as Tom fished the keys out of his pocket - this time with a sense of dread that contrasted so strongly the excitement heâd felt less than 24 hours ago doing the exact same thing.
Tom held the door open for her, as she fiddled with the cuff of her sleeve; eyes still glued to the floor. He flicked on the light to illuminate the hall as she slipped off her shoes. He mirrored her action and then for the first time since his parents' house looked her in the eye. Just that action had him near spilling his guts about how worried he was about her, before Y/n beat him to it.
âIâmâŚIâm gonna take a shower.â
And it had him floored. How could she just ignore the bloody massive and luminous elephant in the room? He couldnât even respond, his brain was so confused as to what the fuck was going on. So she just nodded smally and headed straight upstairs. Leaving him in a stupor by the doorway.
Meanwhile, Y/n was just about holding it together until she got behind the locked door of their ensuite. Then it broke. She broke.
She pulled the clothes that drowned her off frantically, scratching and grabbing until the garments ripped off her body and were thrown across the room in haste. In the mirror, the reflection of the person that stood there somewhat had her transfixed. Tilting her head to the side, Y/n took careful steps up toward it - her eyes transfixed on her exposed abdomen. She was hollow. So very empty and it had her hypnotised. How barely weeks ago she was growing a real human inside there - creating something that shouldâve gone onto laugh and smile and grow and learn. And love.
Now she was empty.
The poor thing though had been so deprived by their own mother; so unwanted and hated. They had been starved of all love by the person who was supposed to love them the most. The person who was supposed to be half their world for the first few years at least.
It was her fault.
Y/n hated herself, heck she wanted to punish herself for what sheâd done. And yet, there was something so pure about her stomach, about where that angel had been. She wanted to punch herself, to kick and hurt, to make her feel pain. Except for this little life force, or the remnants of them - had her respecting it. Instead, she gently rubbed her stomach, which was flat rather than full like it shouldâve been, and yet it felt like a relief. At a snail's pace, she trailed the tips of her finger across her belly just drawing (what she thought were) random patterns - however to anyone else they would have noticed the silhouette of a small human.
She took her time int the shower, having the water close to blisteringly hot but not quite there - using it as an attempt to purge her body of the thoughts, of the guilt. Eventually, though she couldnât drag out the bathroom routine any longer, she had to go and face him. In reality, Y/n was well aware of how unfair this was on Tom - he had been terrified on the way back here, she knew that. But the thought of admitting to him this truly abhorrent thing sheâd done, selfishly she didnât want to tell him tonight. Just one more night sharing a bed with him, one morning of seeing his puffy eyes and bed hair, one last time hearing his gruff morning voice. Before he found out the real her and before he left.
Thankfully, when she finally drew the courage to unlock the door and leave her sanctuary, their bedroom was empty and she took that opportunity. As fast as she possibly could, Y/n changed into an old nightshirt before huddling under the covers. Tom had been so careful with her feelings today, he might just leave her be. Delay the conversation till tomorrow. It was the dream.
And dreams donât come true.
Tom walked in, she could hear the soft pad of his feet on the cream carpet as she tried to act fast asleep - regulating her breathing and relaxing every muscle she could. When in fact that the whole process was the opposite of relaxing, she was on such high alert, waiting for a sign of him leaving her alone for the evening. Quite expectedly though, it didnât quite go down that way. She heard him sigh, felt him sit on his side of the bed as her body rippled with the dip on the bed, felt his eyes piercing her.
âY/nâŚâ the tone of his voice had her wincing internally, he was hurting. âY/n please⌠just talk to me?â She was too scared to move. â I know your awake Y/n we both know whoâs the actor hereâ Y/n knew Tom was trying to lighten the mood, trying to make her feel a bit more comfortable but then he switched back to an underlying hint of desperation. âPlease talk to me.â She didnât have a choice, he wasn't going to let up - Y/n could tell. So she rolled over and opened her eyes facing him.
âIâm tired, Tom. Can we do this tomorrow?â His face completely morphed and she knew she fucked up. He wasnât upset or worried or scared any more.
âIâm sorry but that is not fair.â
âPlease just-â
âNO. ahâ He sighed, as if disciplining himself for the instinctive angry tone. âLook- I-Iâve been going at your pace. Iâve been treading on eggshells all day. I didnât want to push you but Iâm bloody terrified! I mean you told my mum! And sheâs worried so that means Iâm even more stressed and-âŚ. Just please Y/n. You know Iâd never judge you Iâm just worried because I care.â
And just like that, she didnât have a choice. She was really hurting the man she loved.
As a result, Y/n pushed herself up into a sitting position, still hugging the duvet around her in a protective blanket as she looked into his glassy eyes. It tore her heart out.
âIâm really sorryâ she pursed her lips blowing out an exhale, trying to collect all her thoughts, feelings and emotions together. âIâve been trying to all day but-.. itâs just Iâm finding this really hard to express in words.â
âI donât mind if it takes all night, just I-I want to understand.â He was just too kind and she didnât deserve it. So picking at the duvet while pulling her legs closer in protection she nodded.
âOkay, so-so I just take you through it chronologically? And-and then I can go to Y/f/nâs place so.â
âWhy would you got to hers?â He asked, his eyebrows drawn tightly together in confusion. He knew you hadnât been unfaithful - his mum most definitely wouldnât have reacted in the way she did had Y/n betrayed Tom.
âJust⌠just listen first.â She didnât want to answer that question, to speak it into existence. Him kicking her out, in a rage of fury and anger at how evil she could be. She thought heâd just reply and accept it, not feel the need to calm her.
âI could never ever hate you Y/n please, itâs a bit insulting to me that you think I would.â
His words had her a little shocked - she had definitely not expected that reaction. His offence.
âUmm okay just⌠just donât promise till you hear.â He gave her a stern look, not enough to make her back down or change her mind from what she thought was inevitable. âSo. So it was when you were away. Youâd just gone to Atlanta I think and-and I woke up one morning and was sick and it was weird I donât know⌠um so I took the day off but I was okay until the next morning and-and I was sick again. It was weird so I took the next day off because you know Elliot I work with? Heâs-he's got some broken immune system or something so we really canât go in if we are ill. But I was fine until the next morning again and-and then it kind of hit me. I hadnât had a period in ages and-and yeah.â
âYour pregnant?â Tom asked, trying to wrap his head around the current situation and what she was saying.
âWasâŚâ Her voice wavered and she paused a second â I-I was. I was shocked you know? WeâŚwe werenât ready.â Y/n shifted uncomfortably, pushing herself closer to the headboard. âYou said you didnât want kids now and I mean ⌠we- we are barely adults ourself right? It-it was so stupid but I couldnât tell you could I?⌠Phone you up and say by the way Iâm pregnant with a kid you donât want!...â She dared to look at him, only for a second, seeing the way he just stared at her as though transfixed. She couldnât keep looking at him.
âSo I was waiting till you would get back ⌠er next week, well when you were supposed to be back anyway.â She scoffed lightly at that, how the whole entire situation had been completely flipped on its head. âI would have had the scan then. And-and I went and it so stupid because they were a blob but-shit. They were so beautiful.â She hadnât even noticed, suddenly absorbed in what she was saying but Tom leant over to grab one of her hands because it was trembling so vigorously. It wasnât that he wanted to comfort her, he needed to. Because really? When it mattered, he hadnât and that was already eating away at him.
âAnd I stupidlyâŚ. So fucking stupidly⌠I thought what if? I got excited and in my head⌠I donât fucking know I just thought that I-it, it might work. I really - really thought it could work.â She couldnât feel it but Tom wormed his arm around her shoulder, squeezing her into his side. âBut by that point, Iâd already filled them with so much hate. I wanted them out for so long andâŚand then I just- well I got what I thought I wanted.â
For the first time since she started her speech, Y/n wasnât absorbed in retelling the story. Noticing her position with Toms arms protectively wrapped around her, she dared to look up into his eyes. And they werenât right. It was wrong. Because here he was still looking at her with these incredibly soft warm brown eyes, his thumb rubbing up and down on the back of her shoulder blade.
âLove, Iâm so so sorry.â
She was bemused. What the hell was he doing? Was this just a double bluff, acting all soft before he was about to rip her heart out - even if it was what she deserved, that was exceptionally cruel?
âNo Tom your not listening. I-I couldnât keep your baby alive! I-I wished them away⌠I wanted them gone!â Now she was plainly hysterical, shouting and yelling at Tom as her hands shook.
It broke Tomâs heart. He knew this was his fault - at least a little. Clearly, she should never have been in a position to have to deal with this herself, that was obvious. And it made him guilty⌠but what hit harder? She had very clearly implied she was worried about his reaction, he should never have let her worry. Because Tom knew he loved Y/n unconditionally, at this point that should be a given - for all he cared there was nothing, within the limits of reason, she could do that would make him seriously reconsider his opinion of her. Even then, if his opinion were ever forced to change so dramatically... he still knew he wouldnât be able to stop loving her. Loving isn't an option, it is not a choice. You helplessly surrender yourself to it. And yet she was apparently less sure of this fact.
âIâm so sorry you had to deal with this by yourself.â And he meant it. He truly meant it. However, Y/n was not having it at all - in her state, in her frame of mind, this was him just torturing her; acting it out only to break her heart. His words and her position wrapped protectively in his arms dawned on her. It had her leaping up from the bed, tears streaming down her face as she gestured wildly.
âTom thatâs not fair! Donât you get it? I KILLED YOUR BABY! They were alive and then I wasnât enough for them! ITâS MY FAULT!â To put it simply, she looked insane. Screaming, with tears streaming down her face, arms flailing about as she yelled at Tom, who was still sitting on the bed.
Heâd never seen her like this- with so much anger. What was even more disturbing was the fact that it was targeted so inwardly at herself.
âThis isnât your-â
âBE ANGRY TOM. For fuck sake⌠I-â She choked out a sob âI murdered your kid! RAGE AT ME SHOUT AT ME itâs-itâs what I deserve. It was insane but the look in her eye was one that seemed to Tom as though she needed him to hate her. As if in some fucked up narrative that was how the story should end.
He was not having one bit of it, tearing his eyes away from her maniacally shaking frail frame and instead to the corner of the ceiling. There was no precedent, no guidebook on how to deal with this, no past experiences to rely on. Unlike if Y/n had had a shit day, Tom knew then to subtly keep her within reach, to silently be there so she could literally and figuratively lean on him when she was ready; unlike when she was angry at ignorant politicians, he knew not to argue but prompt her to explain more, give a more reasoned argument so anger became thought through intellect; unlike when her grandma had died, when she just needed his contact, she needed his thumb rubbing against her hip, needed to sleep listening to the rhythmical thumping of his heart. None of these were applicable - his touch seemed to make her worse; his words seemed to anger her more; his mere presence didnât seem to be doing an awful lot of good.
And yet, he couldnât leave her even if it seemed to be the most logical option. Because she was wild, not herself and not logical and he, for the first time, was terrified of the danger she could be to herself.
Y/n stared at him, wide-eyed, waiting for him to react. She saw his Adam's apple bob up and down - readying his voice to scream at her. She saw his brown eyes collect a sheen of tears of rage - ready to bore holes into her skull as he degraded her to what she was worth. Which was very little. Then, as if in slow motion, his sharp jawline tilted back level and his eyes met her. He was frozen as if a statue, ready to rage at her.
âI love you both. So much and equally.â
Tom was pretty sure he could imagine Y/nâs runaway train in her head slam on the breaks. Her eyebrow twitched a little, as she stood completely still trying to analyse his words. Because to her, it didnât make sense. So he took this moment of (at least surface level) calm to smoothly and slowly stand up, actions much like mirroring how someone approaches a spooked cat on the streets. Movements slow and preplanned, trying not to set off the fight or flight response on the women in front of him.
âThat little baby you made⌠I didnât know he ever existed till minutes ago butâŚbut I know for a fact I love them.â He was trying to both figure out and decode his own emotions while explaining them in a way Y/n would accept and understand.
âI love them because⌠they are made by the love of my life. And thatâs incredible and indescribable and just⌠just part of you, an extension of everything you and me together are⌠They would never have been perfect right?â Tom softly asked, though realistically knowing he wouldnât get a response from a still motionless Y/n - besides a single tear, which appeared to have a mind of its own, escaping over her bottom lash lid. Tom watched it roll down her cheek as he composed his next words. âNo they wouldnât, no ones perfect⌠neither me nor you. But they wouldâve been safe and have been loved. They were loved, you-you loved them right, even if you didnât think you did or when you were terrified?â This time Y/n nodded minutely and Tom mirrored this, taking a small step a little closer to her. âAnd I did love them while they were in your stomach because they were part of you and I always always love youâŚ. So they were so full of love okay? There's no rhyme or reason to why what happened happened but itâs⌠itâs definitely not because they were starved of love okay?â Y/n still didnât have appeared to have released a single breath since Tom stood up, so he made a calculated and risked assessed movement to reach his hand out to touch her upper arm. In reaction, she sucked in a sharp shaky breath and then expelled it just as quickly - just like Tom knew she would. He physically felt a pull in his chest seeing the torment in her glassy eyes, now barely a rulers length from her.
âThis, itâs an awful⌠awful situation. Itâs sad and heartbreaking but I really need you to know that it changes nothing about how I feel about you. I need you to really understand how much I love-and always will-love you, and how I love them too.â Another tear escaped the same eye and Tom reached up with his other hand so his thumb could brush it away before the glassy orb met her pronounced jawline. To be honest he was quite grateful for the moment as he felt his voice getting a bit sticky in the back of his throat. She still wasnât ready to speak yet and he was okay with that.
âWeâll never forget them and we will always love them, but I want to do that with you, as we get older together. They tie us closer and I refuse to disrespect them and force ourselves apartâŚ.a-assuming you donât want to either?â Still cupping her cheek with his left hand Tom felt as well as saw her nod, this time more emphatically, her eyes darting between focusing on his left and then right eye - as though she was just checking they were saying the same things as his mouth.
âIâm sorry I-â Finally feeling the connection between her brain and voice box, Y/n stated to jiltedly speak but was interrupted as Tom tentatively feathered his lips on hers. âYou can be sorry for scaring the crap out of me today, you can be sorry for shouting and you can be sorry for not telling me at all⌠I donât think you should, but if youâre staying sorry thatâs all you can be sorry for.â He was barely speaking, more like just moving his lips against hers, yet they knew and understood each other completely Y/n got everything. So she sighed and repeated.
âI am sorry.â
âIâm sorry too. Iâm sorry for you not having the faith to know Iâd be happy, that was my fault. Iâm sorry for not being here and not noticing when you were struggling on the phone. Iâm sorry I crept up on you last night. But I donât think thereâs anything else for either of us to apologise for.â
âOkayâ Y/n then pressed her lips firmly and almost desperately against his, feeling his warmth wrap around her, as he literally wrapped his arm around her waist, from where it had been on her upper arm. And really she was very incredibly desperate since it was very very incredibly clear now with him pressed against her that he mightâve been all she needed this whole time. Tom went with it for a couple of moments, but then broke them both apart - it sounds odd but he sort of felt like he was taking advantage of her.
âDarling youâre grieving. We can tackle this together âŚ. But your grieving so we need to look after you first. And, and weâll remember them and face this. But we gotta look out for each other too andâŚâ
âIâm ill arenât I?â He was oh-so relieved that she could see it too.
âIâm not a doctor but I think so⌠think we need to get you eating properly.âY/n nodded and Tom kissed her forehead, pulling her completely against his chest - only exacerbating and exaggerating his awareness of how boney she felt. It hadnât gone unnoticed how sheâd spent the whole of Samâs dinner pushing the meat round on her fork - rearranging it numerous times- whilst picking at a few carrots. âWe can do whatever you feel will help you this evening but you need to tell me what you want to eat.â
*
You agreed but you still felt incredibly nauseous, so managed to put off the whole snacking thing in lieu of cuddling up on the sofa with Tom. You were still incredibly confused, feeling slightly detached from reality if you were completely honest. And you knew Tom was a good actor, his career kind of speaks for himself yet, all the same, the sheer truth in his eyes, voice, heart. It had you feeling safe. He no longer felt a flight risk and although you still couldnât understand why he was forgiving you so easily, you believed he was. In the softest voice, he kept just saying âyour grievingâ when you tried to challenge his logic- admittedly proving difficult in your scattered and hazy mind.
So you found yourself lying almost completely on top of his right side, your head tucked underneath his chin, a fluffy blanket weighing down on your back to keep you nice and toasty. Silently Tom had trailed his fingertips tentatively, under the hem of your t-shirt, round over the top of your hip to his stomach. Initially, it had felt like the worst and most alien feeling in the world- but he told you to relax and you listened; he told you to take deep breaths and you listened; he told you he loved you and you listened.
It mustâve been incredibly boring for him, I mean the TV wasnât on neither was the radio and you knew his phone was in a pocket you were currently lying on. He didnât complain though, he just let you lie there. Just sort of being with him.
*
At some point Tom realised sheâd drifted off, after a long time fighting exhaustion, as though she were worried about what Tom would do once she finally gave in to sleep. It wasnât surprising though, considering her energy intake from food for today was limited to a couple of roasted carrot slices, Tom knew her falling asleep on his chest was inevitable. The time it took had also given him enough time to fully digest and process the whole day as well as for deciding what he needed to do. So once she appeared fully out of Tom dared to worm his hand between their bodies and, with a few muted grunts of effort, phish his phone out his back pocket.
âHi, I know this asking a lot but would you mind getting Sam to make that pasta bake Y/n likes and dropping it round? Just sheâs asleep but I donât want to leave her alone but could do with getting something in her?â
âSams already on it and it doesnât take long. Iâll be at yours in about an hour, shall I just let myself in?â
Tom was so grateful for his family, and for how theyâd taken Y/n in to. Although sheâd never admit it, her tougher than average upbringing always had her feeling a bit isolated- she never had âherâ people. The people who completely accepted her for who she was and never judged her. But as soon as heâd introduced her to them, it was as if she'd always been there. He endlessly appreciated the talks Nikki and you had, the way his Dad would come over when she was home alone to help with the simple stuff like knowing what lightbulb to buy for the lamp that had blinked out.
She had a place in his family.
Quite impressively, Sam had managed to bake the dish and then Nikki had managed to drive round before barely three-quarters of an hour had passed. Y/n was still completely out, so when he heard his mum unlock the door with her spare key, he felt able to wiggle out from under her without disturbing at all. He met Nikki in the kitchen, leaning against the door frame as he watched his mother fly about the kitchen - preheating the oven on a low temp to keep it warm while pulling plates and cutlery out the drawers so it was easier for Y/n and Tom when you woke up.
âThanks for all thisâ Tom announced his presence with a soft sigh as he padded further into the kitchen. Nikki instinctively threw her arms round her eldestâs shoulders, squeezing him tightly.
âYou guys okay?â Tom replied with a rather uncertain hum, before recounting the evening to his mum in a low voice - as though Y/n could be disturbed from the other side of the house. Nikki was in two frame of minds at this point, clearly heartbroken for the pair; but also incredibly proud of her son because it appeared heâd reacted and said exactly the right things.
âAnd you?⌠it mustâve been a shock?â To be quite honest, Tom hadn't thought about his own emotions yet, heâd put himself on the back foot for the time being.
âI mean itâs just a bit surreal⌠I donât know I didnât really have anything to do with it but - I just know that it's made me so certain that one day we will... you know?â Nikki hugged her son again with a little nod.
âWell I wonât outstay my welcome but I do want you to give this to Y/n too.ââ With those words, she fished a square box out of her handbag - it was about the size of two matchboxes and Tom raised his brows in curiosity. âSheâll understand when she sees it.â
And with a brisk parting gesture, Nikki left, Tom tucking the box into his side pocket before getting the pasta ready.
Waking you with a gentle rub on your upper arm, you mewled a groan and pushed your head hard into the sofa below you in an attempt to alleviate the tension that instantly rippled through your skull. With hazy eyes, you blinked heavily, slowly focusing on the pale yet soft skin of the boy crouched opposite you.
âHey darling, nice nap?â Nodding gradually, you still tried to completely recollect and piece together everything that had happened today â⌠you need some grub before we head upstairs yeh?â Again you nodded in compliance because at this point, even having been asleep for the last however long, you really didnât have the energy for any conflict or disagreement. With a little prompt and poke from Tom, you reluctantly sat up, grasping the plate he offered to you while still rubbing one of your eyes. Busying himself with running back to the kitchen and grabbing his own plate and drink, you had time to look at the food and notice what was served to you. Tom plopped himself next to you and turned his head with a small smile, meeting a bemused and slightly suspicious look from you.
âYou didnât cook thisâŚ?â Really it wasnât a question. You knew for a fact Tom was not and would never be a good chef. No judgement though, since neither were you, meaning the pair of you heavily relied on the ingenious invention of uber eats most evenings. Tom chuckled at your perceptiveness and admitted defeat without even trying to feign it.
âNah mum dropped it round. Though I think Sam cooked it so a joint effort.â
â-didnt have to-â You hated feeling like a burden. You hated people worrying because you just felt bad. Not worth the attention and effort. And Tom hated you feeling like that - naturally then, he had the need to shut you down instantly.
âNo, youâre right. But they did.â
The air was filled with the quiet clinks of ceramic against the silver or the cutlery as you forced mouthful after mouthful down your throat. He was trying to be subtle, and yet you could feel Tomâs concerned glance checking you were eating. Truthully, you really didnât feel like eating at all (even if it was Samâs gorgeous tomato and sausage pasta bake - an odd combination but it worked). However, what more crucial in that moment was not disappointing your incredibly sweet boyfriend.
After having consumed as much as you physically could - which Tom deemed suitable with a small nod- he took your plates away and came back to sit beside you. More and more silence.
âAre-are we okay?â Whispering quietly you felt Tomâs body seize up into a rigid state, his face whipping round to look at you. He chose to reply with actions first reaching up so that his hands cupped your cheeks, he turned your head and then slowly leaned into to press his lips softly against yours. Once retracted, he pressed his forehead onto yours.
âOf course. I bloody love you and weâre going to get through this together.â His eyes were almost intimidating, with the seriousness he placed in his gaze - just to make sure you knew he meant it.
What you had done to deserve this boy youâd never know. But you were so incredibly grateful for him.
It gave you the confidence to take the first move this time, pressing your lips against his, holding for a moment before arching away - a small yet real smile on your face.
âOh⌠nearly forgotâ He muttered, leaning forward and grabbing a black leather box that youâd failed to notice had been placed on the coffee table. For the second time this evening, you were caught off guard and bemused as to how heâd sourced this item within the time frame. âItâs from mum⌠she wouldnât tell me what it is but said youâd understand.â
His words had you biting your lip, in a weird way eager to see, purely because you knew Nikki understood you. And understood what you were going through. With one last look to Tom, you reached out and grabbed the box, thumb running over the sleek leather exterior. Once your thumb reached the bottom you flicked the lid up, unveiling a simple silver chained bracelet. It had five dainty silver charms hanging off it, they looked a bit like leaves but were kind of too small to tell. Moreover, it looked a little worn and preloved but it didnât stop your eyes from watering when you saw at the bottom another charm, not yet attached that looked newer and pristine.
5 charms already attached and 1 new one.
âOhâ Tom muttered, also clearly very much intrigued, hovering off you left shoulder to see properly. âThatâs mums bracelet. She never really takes it off⌠thatâs nice I guess?â He was obviously confused and it had you chuckling wetly, at how oblivious he could be. You did love your dear idiot.
5 charms for her 5 pregnancies⌠and now one for yours. One to wear forever, to love, to keep close to your heart.
They were tears of happiness, you were certain of, however, Tom was not at all sure why your flood gates opened again and was worried.
âYou-you donât have to take- I mean if you donât like it donât worry-â
âI love itâ You breathed, looking up at him with glassy eyes before hastily picking up the extra charm and with shaky fingers clasping it onto the chain next to it. Tom perked up, if still bemused, wrapping his arm around your shoulder with a gentle squeeze.
âI donât know how you convinced her to take it off, Iâve been trying to buy her a new bracelet for years but sheâs always stuck with this old thing.â
âBecause itâs beautiful!â You yelped in argument, making him laugh at how suddenly youâd switched into a happy and overexcited mood. Though donât get me wrong, he was loving it.
âYou Holland women I will never understand.â He whispered into your ear whilst you looked back at the chain, fixing it round your wrist. His comment made you freeze up, as you felt his grip tightening on your waist as he realised exactly what he might have just let slip out. âNo I er- I donât mean⌠but-but one day maybe if-if you wanted.â
âI love youâ You sighed, kissing him once again to save him the embarrassment of watching his cheeks flush and ears pink up.
âIâm serious though⌠one day because⌠because youâre my family and when it happens our family will grow too.â
He was right. And you would, one day,
But you would never forget the two little lives remembered on this bracelet.
