ratchet x female!reader
originally posted on my ao3 here!
"What is the point of having your number if you never pick up the fragging phone?" Startled, your hold on the device wavers as you yank it away from your ear, his volume loud and displeased. "I've been trying to contact you all damn morning, where have you been?"
His grouchiness overlays his concern, but it's not as heavy as it normally is, bearable to a wide extent. "Sorry. I got caught up with something, but I have a free minute. What's up?"
Ratchet sputters, and his engine revs theatrically in the background alerting you that he's driving, likely on the way to your house. "Oh, you can spare me a minute?" That may not have been the best sentence to say, even in your delirious state. "And you got 'caught up with something?' y/n, that is probably the poorest excuse I've ever heard, and trust me, I've heard it all."
Your nose wrinkles, carefully surveying your options in the next reply you dare provide. It would appear no matter what you said unless it was the plain truth, it would not satisfy the doctor. "I...can I try again?" It comes out eventually, meek and stifled with exhaustion alongside a bout of attempted humor.
"Can you what?!" Wrong choice slapping you profoundly in the face, the phone moves apart from your ear as he shouts. "Did you hit your head? What the scrap is the matter with you?"
Sighing, you stand off the couch, hesitantly bringing the phone back to your ear, achy joints expecting his anger to flare once more. "It's been a long day," You start, pausing in case he decides to interject. "I was sleeping when you called, I really am sorry."
"It is only two in the afternoon," It's quieter, but still overmuch alarmed. "And sleeping? This isn't like you. I know your schedule very well, you don't take your 'naps' at this time of day." The fact that Ratchet claims to know your schedule is amusing, but you don't have the energy to tease him for the sentiment.
"I was-" You move around the furniture, heading into the kitchen for a glass of water. "I was tired, Ratch. I didn't get much sleep last night." Part of you questioned if divulging the medic was the best idea, for he would only insist upon checking you over and monitoring your symptoms if he found any.
"And why is that? Assignments, or work-related activities?" Unable to remember the last time you felt such fatigue, the only thing you wanted at this very moment was to go back to sleep, alone, in a dark room. "It better not have been to watch garbage on television."
"That doesn't matter." You start, knowing what comes next.
"It does." Going to argue back, you spin to the window in the kitchen as the tell-tale sound of a truck coming down the road reaches your ears. "Open the garage, now. I'm outside."
Groaning, the line clicks dead, leaving no option available to defend the idea that you were fine. You could hide, and claim you weren't home, but you know he's seen your car in the driveway already, and he wouldn't leave until he saw you. With dread, you watch the red and white ambulance pull onto the pavement, radiating the vibe that you were really in for it this afternoon.
"Hi Ratchet," Your palm hits the button that opens the garage door, exasperation filling your tone as he pulls inside. "So kind of you to say you were dropping by."
"Hush up, I've just about had it with your nonsense." He doesn't mean it, because he wouldn't be here if he did. "If you run and lock yourself inside like last time, I will throw something at you."
The idea had crossed your mind, but you knew it was all in vain, even if you did try such an escape. "Yeah, okay. I'll just remember to wash you with paint stripper next time around."
"That is not funny." His passenger-side door pops open, impatience showing clear as day. "Get in y/n. And it's not a request."
Your hand squeezes into a fist, but relents, knowing you were at the end of a losing battle. "Fine. Can I go get my bag, at least?"
As if he was anticipating you to quarrel with him, Ratchet begins his sentence without thinking. "I just said-!" When he processes your words, his voice box spatters, followed by an ex-vent. "Very well. But don't try anything, I'll be waiting."
You disappear back through the interior garage door, back into your kitchen, and out of Ratchet's line of sight. In his initial investigation, your outward appearance seemed normal, with no obvious signs of trauma or injury. Still, you did have an aura of distress and melancholy, even if you were bickering with him habitually. Ratchet reviews his options, mindful of what he understood was the best solution to your long day, and after a few kliks pass, you return to the garage, bag on your shoulder as you close the door over behind you.
"Told you I'd be right back," Shuffling around the ambulance, you step up into his cabin, sliding into the seat as the door swings shut.
"I have validation for my wariness." His center console blinks as he speaks. "If you must sleep, go ahead. I'll be quiet."
"I'm good," Head tilting back, you're met with the soft beige of the headrest, and seatbelt clicking over your waist. "I'm sure you'll give me a run for my money when we get back to the base, so I'll sleep after."
"You're lucky that I don't understand that idiom, or I'd probably leave you on the side of the road." Another jab he has no intention of following through with. "Are you going to discuss then why you are so exhausted? And don't give me the scrap about how you didn't sleep well. I know that. I want to know what was keeping you up."
The urge to scream at him 'You aren't my doctor' is nearly irresistible. You physically have to bite your lip, staring out the window with declination in your body language, but you have to take a step back to confront the larger picture. Ratchet hardly ever left the base, and it appears this journey was made entirely on your behalf, but the reason you felt so coddled and overwhelmed was because he was demonstrating compassion the only way he knew how. Ratchet was a worrier at heart, and him coming out here because he couldn't get ahold of you made guilt settle in the bottom of your stomach.
"I know you're not ignoring me, y/n." His voice is flat as the seat nudges your back. "You're on such thin ice, I-"
"I'm sorry." It comes out a bit more warble than you intend, watching as his rearview mirror tilts downwards to look at you. "I was up all night overthinking. My brain was going a hundred miles a minute, I-" Your voice hitches, swallowing down a sob that rises in your throat. "You were only trying to help. I'm sorry."
Ratchet doesn't reply immediately, but the mirror doesn't move from its position. Eventually, he ex-vents, and you can picture him hanging his helm in a defeated manner, unsure of what he could possibly say to make you feel better.
"I should have just told you." You say quietly, looking back out the window. "It really has been a long day, but I'm okay now, Ratch. I swear, I would never lie to you."
"I know that." It's insistent, but he cannot get the image of you near tears out of his processor. "I would still like to review your vitals back on base, just to make sure you truly are fine."
A soft smile crawls onto your rosy cheeks, nodding twice. "Sure, if it'll give you better piece of mind."
"You're going to be the death of me yet, y/n." Your window rolls down halfway, enjoying the breeze that hits your face. "Would you rest better at the base, or shall I take you back home after the evaluation?"
"Are you going to take a nap with me?" You blink, silently begging him to say yes.
"That wasn't an option." He comes to a stop at a red light. "You have two. Pick one."
"You asked where I would sleep better?" Ratchet knows he shouldn't entertain this, but he dares to answer.
"Yes. Pick one, or I'll pick for you." He makes the left turn as the light switches green.
"In your arms," A pout overcomes your face as he barks a laugh, obviously unamused.
"Forget I asked. I'm taking you back home straight after." The pout melds into a scowl, but you relent, leaning back into his seat as the two of you roll down desert roads. You knew you could do better damage at the base, eyelids drooping as a yawn builds in your mouth. Maybe you would be able to better convince him in person, but for now, you take it with stride as the cool afternoon air swipes across your face.

Hey, sorry if this is a weird question but I'm trying to learn more since I honestly wasn't educated about fatphobia before and I'm trying to fix that (especially now that I won't be a teen in a few months and my mom could be considered fat and I love food so like we all know the body type I'll have in a few years). I often see people say that being fat is bad because people like firefighters and nurses get injured when saving/caring for them and I'd like to know if there's any way to like.. fix that? I obviously don't want very poorly compensated people risking their lives to get injured more than they have to but I also don't think policing people's bodies is right...
Hmmm where to start. The thing is nurses are understaffed, often asked to move patients by themselves when they shouldn't be. It's not just fat people that can injure a nurse, anyone who can't assist on their own lifting can. Lifting say, 180 pounds from the floor is risky, Hospital beds are closer to the average person waist plus there are handles and bars for the patient to assist. Rolling a patient in bed is difficult, again if the patient can't assist. Making sure staff is getting help is crucial. They wouldn't let me move myself from the bed I was on, onto the surgery table but it was quick and took three people to properly nest me and slide me over. (I was going in for gallbladder surgery) there were multiple people who could have assisted in the room if they needed more. So really, fighting under staffing and over working in the medical field is key.
Im not as familiar with fire fighting techniques however I know that there's an issue of businesses not having Evac Chairs or sleds for the physically disabled. I'm thinking of the brand Evac Chairs but ANY such device is useful.
Im looking at the sleds:

This goes up to 440

This one goes up to 500 carrying capacity!
These should be part of fire and rescue training and provided to the rescuers for public safety. Any business that sees a large amount of foot traffic should have these on site. (I don't expect a small mom and pop shop to have one, but Walmart should. Hospitals should.)
So basically: proper training, the right equipment and proper staff. These all play a role in how to circumvent awful situations.
Also take the consideration of what these people say "it's bad to be fat because nurses and fire fighters" these types of people are one bad turn from saying "it's bad to be in a wheelchair because it's too hard for fire rescue" or "it's bad to need nurses to turn you to prevent bed sores" they think, fundamentally, that fat people choose to be fat so we deserve less empathy. And even if it was 100% a choice for every person, it doesn't mean we don't deserve care and common sense accomedations. You can't say you respect bodily autonomy and support disability rights if your support is conditional. Only supporting "the good ones" is a policy in futility.
As an aside: check your smoke detectors and reduce fire hazards. Know your exits and keep low to the floor if there's smoke. Regardless of size people get real relaxed with fire safety because it's rare it's an issue. Some basic things is all you can do so please do them or have someone your trust to do them.

1. Rooftop Solar Keeps Getting More Accessible Across Incomes
“The long-term trend is that the median income for a household with rooftop solar is getting closer almost every year to that of the median income for owner-occupied households.”
2. Endangered seabirds return to Pacific island after century-long absence
“"No native species were harmed during the removal of invasive rats from Kamaka Island,” Esposito said. […] The team also collected and planted native sedges and grasses while removing invasive trees to enhance nesting conditions.”
3. First-of-its-kind crew welfare measure adopted at Pacific fisheries summit
“The new measure establishes minimum standards on board, including access to clean food and water, medical care, and sleeping quarters. It stipulates that workers have “unfettered access” to their identity documents […] and “unmonitored access to communication devices to seek assistance.””
4. Greyhound racing is increasingly rare worldwide. New Zealand now plans to outlaw the practice
“New Zealand’s government rushed through a law to prevent dogs from being killed while the industry winds down, unless a veterinarian deems it unavoidable. This will prevent owners from euthanizing dogs for economic reasons, Peters said.”
5. Possible Win-Win for Wildlife Management and Food Security
“Wild-harvested meat donation programs can help improve food insecurity while also helping manage overabundance of wildlife species like white-tailed deer[…. In one program,] hunters donated 600,000 meals. But that’s only 5.7% of the amount of venison that food donation facilities could use, according to the Food Bank Council of Michigan. The researchers say this suggests there’s room for scaling up these programs.”
6. Poll of American Farmers Shows Strong, Widespread Support for Increased Farm Bill Conservation Funding

“The polling, which surveyed over 500 farmers and ranchers across the country, found broad support for continuing and increasing funding for climate-smart agriculture conservation programs.”
7. Long-distance friendships enhance trust in conservation efforts
“Relative to a person with no long-distance friends, having even just one friend in another village led to a 15% increase in conservation activities such as beach cleanups, reporting illegal fishing practices and educating others about sustainable resource management.”
8. Two major Sunshine State airports make switch to 100 pct renewables
“Power for operations ranging from lighting and air conditioning to escalators and charging stations will be provided from renewable energy projects [...] at the beginning of 2025, ensuring clean energy operations for the more than 8 million passenger journeys averaged each year.”
9. Expansion of federally subsidized public housing may offer a path out of LA's homelessness crisis

“[… A] half-cent sales tax [was] recently approved by L.A. County voters expected to generate $1 billion per year to address homelessness. […] “Metros with higher concentrations of federally financed public housing tend to have lower rates of unsheltered homelessness," Schachner said.”
10. $20 Million Available to Advance Habitat Restoration Priorities of Tribes and Underserved Communities
“Through this funding, NOAA will help support community-driven habitat restoration and build the capacity of tribes and underserved communities to more fully participate in restoration activities.”

July is disability pride month! In honor of this, as a proud disabled person, the top 10 things I've heard/read about disability that just need to be addressed.
"Disability payments" = SSI.
Nope. There are a number of programs which are "disability payments." There are programs that look at your income in addition to disability status, such as SSI and VA pensions. There are programs that look at your disability status and work credits, like SSDI. There are also programs that look at disability and if it's service connected to your military status, like VA disability. There are people who have disability through their former employer. All of these provide a monthly payment to people who are disabled and cannot work. 2. Disabled people can't get married.
Okay, this one is complicated. There is to my knowledge no law on the books anywhere in the United States that prohibits a consenting disabled adult from marrying another consenting adult, disabled or not. If you are on disability with a program like SSDI they could care less if you get married or divorced.
The trick here is that if you are receiving disability under a program that considers income, like SSI, if you get married it's more than likely that you will go above the maximum income threshold and lose your benefits entirely. They somehow assume that you both can survive on your spouse's income alone. This also means the disabled person essentially loses all their financial independence. The maximum income threshold for SSI is to my knowledge far lower than almost any other program, so there's very little wiggle room here.
So a disabled person on SSI has to choose between getting married and losing all their income, or maintaining some financial independence with their own income - and that's really not a fair choice at all 3. I saw that wheelchair user stand up! Scammer.
Nope. A lot of people who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices are ambulatory. They may have pain or orthopedic issues, they may have a condition causing extreme fatigue or dizziness that makes them a fall risk, they may have a heart issue, they may be able to do some walking and standing but not a lot. Some people need mobility devices only when they are doing something particularly strenuous that would involve a lot of walking and standing - for example going through an airport or visiting a museum or theme park.
Bottom line, if you see someone using a wheelchair, a scooter, a walker, a cane, whatever, don't be an asshole to them, and don't ask them to explain their medical history to you. 4. That person has a placard and is using the parking space close to the building, but they can walk!! Scammer.
Nope. Again, you have no idea what that person's condition might be. They could have a cardiac or respiratory condition, they could have rheumatoid arthritis or an issue with their feet or knees, you have no bloody idea, so mind your business. 5. That person wouldn't be disabled if they'd meditate/take this supplement/pray/think positive! Why were they offended when I told them so?
Because their treatment is not your concern? Because although you did a lot of studying on Tik Tok University, maybe they're trusting the trained medical professionals who are treating them? Maybe because what you are saying has no actual basis in mainstream peer reviewed science? It's gross to try to give a disabled or chronically ill person unsolicited treatment or religious advice. 6. I asked that disabled person what was wrong with them and they got mad! Why?
Random strangers you meet are not required to give you detailed descriptions of their medical conditions. Also, asking anyone what is WRONG with them is so damned rude. 7. Ugh, the pandemic is over but that person is still wearing a mask! ROFL.
Yeah, there are a lot of people out there who are either immunocompromised or have another condition that makes them high risk for the numerous airborne viral illnesses still circulating, or they live with/care for someone who is, or they have another reason they're wearing a mask and they don't want to get sick. And? Mind your business. 8. Heh, that person said they were allergic to soy and I put soy milk in their coffee! They'll never know.
Congrats, you just might have killed someone or sent them to the hospital. If someone's telling you they have an allergy, please for God's sake take them seriously. If they consume or in some cases even smell or have contact with that allergen, it could absolutely kill or hospitalize them. There are also a lot of other medical reasons someone might tell you they can't have a particular food or drink - for example, some very common medications have a serious interaction with some very common fruits that could potentially cause them a tremendous amount of harm. Or they have a condition like celiac disease where eating certain things will result in pain and illness flares and serious complications for them. None of that is a joke. 9. Eyeroll this disabled person needs to get to the bathroom/another area that is only accessible by stairs and now they need me to unlock the elevator or door for them. Damned PITA.
Blame your employer or whoever owns the building for not making it accessible. Don't blame the disabled person who is asking for the same access to the facility as anyone else. Do you really think it's the highlight of anyone's day to find a locked elevator and have to search for whomever has the key, simply to go pee? 10. Eh, that person told me they can't walk up the stairs! But it's not that steep!
If a person tells you they can't walk up or down stairs, they can't walk up or down stairs. Period. Case closed. This isn't something negotiable.

AITA for blackmailing someone and then snitching to the feds anyway? Okay, so I work for a contract medical research lab generating quantitative image data, working closely with veterinary pathologists who provide the qualitative data. Together, we put together a report like "okay, here's what the medicine/medical device did and here's why we think it happened", and that report usually gets sent to the FDA if it looks promising enough that the sponsor wants to push for clinical trials and eventual market release. So we get a study in and we've got (fake numbers here) 400 sections, but the quote says they only want 300 measurements done. I'm confused and go "wait, which 300 out of the 400? which 100 should I ignore?" and go to the pathologist. She also thinks it's weird and reaches out to the client, hoping it's a typo and we're about to get paid for the bonus 100. Nope! He pressures us for it to be a phone call (no paper trail) and then not-so-subtly hints that he wants the... uglier-looking sections dropped. In other words, he wants to cherry-pick data that makes him look good. This is not only dangerous but The Most Illegal Shit. People's lives hang in the balance and they have to be able to trust the research that tells them medicines and medical devices are safe. We take that responsibility seriously. So the pathologist gathers data and emails him like "I'm taking a REPRESENTATIVE 300 samples for analysis, my report will include scoring of the ones that make you look bad, and if I find out you doctored the reports behind my back, I'm sending everything I have directly to the FDA." (this is not how data is normally submitted in the industry. normally the report is commissioned, and then all dealings with the FDA are done by the client) He grouses, but agrees. And then says "if the FDA reaches out to you, don't respond." .....What? But that's already industry standard? Why would he say that? Why would he expect the FDA to reach out to us? Anyway the pathologist and I discuss it, and both assume he's definitely about to doctor these reports behind our back once it's submitted. So at my suggestion... the pathologist sends the communications to the FDA anyway. Here's the thing: we don't actually know that this guy meant to do some ethics violations. We just assumed he was suspicious without real proof. Even unproven accusations in this industry can get you blacklisted for life, if not facing criminal charges. Did we risk destroying some random guy's life over bad vibes and nothing else?
What are these acronyms?

Getting really, REALLY sick of all the botspam pretending to be refugees in Gaza. Just in the last couple of days I've had more than 20 new money requests land in my inbox, many of them exact duplicates sent from various randomly-generated URLs. Some of them seem to be AI-generated, or at least following a set Mad Libs format ("our beautiful ___-story house" is a perennial favorite; who knew Gaza had so many homes with 6 to 11 floors?).
Nearly all of these claim to be verified by some third party, but almost none have proof of it (links to a database, exact spreadsheet line numbers, etc.). Some that do give such information don't exist when you actually look them up; they're just assuming that nobody will bother checking.
This is why I never send money to unsolicited cash requests. Too many vultures are posing as victims to steal funds, and it's risky to trust a random DM without reliable third-party verification. By all means, support refugees and fund evacuation and relief efforts! But do it through safe/verified channels, and (for your own safety) never send random cash to a stranger on the internet without doing at least the bare minimum of fact-checking.
If you're considering donating to an individual campaign, ask for proof of third-party verification, such as whether it's listed on the fundraiser spreadsheet compiled by @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi. While this is not 100% foolproof, it would require a dedicated scammer to jump through enough hoops to get listed, while most bots/scattershot scams are just pointing you directly to a GoFundMe link without taking the effort.
Here are a few more bot-free ways to help:
Gaza Funds - a safer way to give directly to those raising money for evacuation, medical treatment, or rebuilding. This site randomly displays a vetted campaign every time you load the page, so it helps all campaigns get equal exposure. All campaigns in the database have been screened to weed out likely scams.
Charity Watch Gaza Aid list - Choose your own charity to support from this verified list of humanitarian and relief services. From this site, you can learn what your money goes toward and what percentage of it will be used for direct relief, rather than administrative costs.
Connecting Humanity/eSIMs for Gaza - This organization uses donated eSIM cards to provide internet and communications access to refugees and displaced people.
Operation Olive Branch - A grassroots organization, OOB helps verify individual fundraising campaigns and supports relief organizations.
UNRWA - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine and the Near East provides food, medical supplies, educational materials, and more to affected areas.
Arab.org daily clicks to help - It's free and only takes a few seconds! You can click all six categories, once per browser per device per day (so different browsers, mobiles, desktops, tablets, etc. can all be used on the same day).
For more reading, here's the FCC guide to donating safely.

Hello, I appreciate your medical posts very much and having seen a post the other day where you said migraine was in your areas of special interest, I'd love to ask a related question. You talk about bodies and medicine and patient experience etc in a way that makes a lot of sense to me and I'd trust your take.
I have chronic migraine. I'm currently at 100% pain days, with varying severity. Very hard to pin down what is prodrome, the main event, and postdrome as it's all blurred into one. My migraine team want me to reduce painkiller usage (currently dihydrocodeine and paracetamol daily, and ibuprofen maybe every other day on top) due to rebound headache. I want to cut down because they're fucking expensive and I'm scared for my liver and kidneys. But I literally can't cope with life without them. I went off them for four months a few years ago and the pain was so severe and so debilitating I was the most suicidal I've been in my life. Without painkillers I can't get to the toilet unaided, rarely leave bed, even more rare to leave the house. It's hell. And that's not even considering the effects on everyone around me who has to pick up to care for me.
So what do I do? The way I see things, I need something to help the pain improve before I can use less painkillers, but the longer I go on trying to find something that works and not getting there, the more I think maybe I'm wrong in that. I know a bit about how codeine based painkillers can reduce your pain tolerance / pain baseline. I don't think it's an addiction issue because I've been at the same (over the counter) dosages for 4 years now. I just want to do all that I can to be better, but I also need to be alive to be better. I am stuck.
TL;DR - If you have any thoughts on the relationship between chronic migraine, painkiller use, preserving quality of life while finding a treatment, and increasing the chances of a treatment working, and where on earth the balance between all that lies, I'd really like to hear them.
Again, I absolutely appreciate if you can't answer this, don't want to etc. Giving advice online is notoriously tricky and all that. But a big thank you for your time in reading, and all your weight and exercise posts especially which make me feel so much better about my body. Wishing you all good things! 💖
I won't speak to your case directly, since I'm not your doctor, but here is my personal algorithm for escalating treatments for migraine (note that "abortives" in this case means something you take after a migraine starts to try to end it, while "prophylactic" means a daily treatment you take to reduce likelihood of developing a migraine):
-OTC combination of magnesium, feverfew, and butterbur, taken daily
-Triptans (insurance will usually demand patients fail at least 3 to cover a more expensive treatment)
-High-dose NSAIDs (as abortive treatment given risk of rebound headaches if used daily)
-Daily topiramate (insurance will always demand this is either failed or there's a clear contraindication)
-Daily calcium channel blockers
-Daily beta blockers (higher dose than used for anxiety or low-grade arrhythmias)
-Daily anti-epileptic medications (such as Lamictal)
-Monthly anti-CGRP monoclonal antibody injections (Aimovig or Ajovy; expensive so insurance will demand you've failed some or all of the previous meds)
-Abortive anti-CGRP orals (Nurtec or Ubrelvy)
-Abortive ergotamine, usually Migranal, a nasal spray (very expensive and must be repeated 15 minutes after initial dose regardless of whether symptoms are improving or not)
-Prophylactic Botox (I believe this is every 3 months, must be done in the office of a trained and licensed professional, usually but not always a Neurology provider)
-Sphenopalatine ganglion blocks (done by dripping lidocaine far back into the sinuses to reach the sphenopalatine ganglion, again in the office of a trained and licensed professional)
-Cephaly (transcranial magnetic stimulation at-home device), expensive so insurance hates covering it
Now, one of my newer tools, and my current personal favorite, is a greater occipital nerve block--easy and fast, low risk, and I've had about 90% success with my patients in aborting current headaches. Effects seem to last 3-4 weeks in most cases and since it's straight lidocaine (you don't have to include steroids, though you can) you can do it as often as needed. I generally do this in my office, but I did train one patient's spouse to do it at home given how frequent their headaches. The pharmacy lost their fucking mind about letting an outpatient have lidocaine. I don't know why.
I currently manage my pretty awful chronic migraines with a combination of monthly Aimovig, as-needed Excedrin (the combination of caffeine, Tylenol aka paracetamol, and aspirin is effective for many people but is a real risk for causing medication overuse headaches, the more official term for bounce-back), as-needed Ubrelvy (I can sleep after taking Ubrelvy but not Excedrin so it's a good option), and roughly monthly greater occipital nerve blocks (I teach my trainees to do it using myself as a subject). I wouldn't mind trying the Botox but it's a PITA to get in to see our only local Neurology provider and since my migraines are relatively well-controlled (probably 1-2 headache days a week right now) I don't think it's worth the effort.
I also really got a lot out of this lecture, so give it a try.

The Shape of Truth - Chapter 16: Box of Memory
Masterpost
-
Even with the skin glue, it was a few days before Ambrosius was feeling good enough to walk on his leg without a crutch. Even then, he still limped. Nimona ran errands for him, bringing news from the city each time.
To both of their surprise, his face hadn't gotten plastered on wanted posters on every screen in the kingdom. There were knights out on constant patrol now, but no announcements that Ambrosius Goldenloin was a traitor on the run. It was like they were trying to sweep the events of last week under the rug, trying to keep morale in the city at reasonable levels. The queen’s assassination still weighed heavily on everyone’s minds, after all.
Ambrosius couldn’t wait to get away from all this. He wanted to start over, somewhere else. Nimona had remained hesitant until Ambrosius mentioned there could be others like her outside - other Nimonas living happy lives, not trapped inside a wall. She could be with them. She seemed to warm up to that idea.
Before they enacted their escape plan, there was a chore to do. There were some things Ambrosius wanted to bring with him - mementos from his family that had been locked away in secret storage, off-books. Ambrosius had never understood why his family had a secret vault - The Institute’s vaults were safe places for valuables… and then he remembered how he and Nimona had snuck into the archives and he wondered how secure that place really was.
Nimona had smirked when Ambrosius told her about the secret storage vault.
“Figures. Your dad didn’t trust anyone with valuables.”
Ambrosius made a mental note to bring that up later - his figurative relationship with his dad was... complicated, but maybe Nimona could fill the gaps of knowledge provided by publicity. Right now, he was too busy designing the plan to get into the vault.
Ambrosius remembered something about a hand scanner - his mom had made sure he’d gotten registered as joint owner after his dad had died. He’d only visited the place twice in his life - once when he'd registered with his mom, and again after her death to stow some mementos he didn’t want sold or sent to The Institute archives. That was over ten years ago, and he’d gotten taller and his handprint bigger. He hoped the scanner would recognize him.
Since there weren’t any wanted posters out, it was a safe bet that the main populace wasn’t looking for him. That made their approach of the private vault easier. If there was one good thing that had come from Ambrosius’s time in the psych ward, it was that it’d changed his appearance. He was thinner now - the medications he’d been forced to take had made lose weight and muscle - and his eyes were still sunken, with dark patches beneath. Nimona had gotten him a set of cheap, ill-fitting clothes (how she got them, he didn’t ask,) that accentuated his lack of weight, and he was now walking with a limp; shoulders sagged, not with his head held high as he’d always done. Buzz cuts were also in style, so his lack of hair didn’t stand out. A pair of lensless glasses along with his scraggly week-old facial hair disguised his face just enough to pass as a downbeat citizen if you weren’t looking for Ambrosius Goldenloin, heroic knight of The Kingdom.
The family’s secret vault was situated under an old fancy restaurant. Ambrosius used a side entrance to get in, sneaking in with the workers. Nimona had shifted into a rat and was riding in the duffel bag he carried. They had an hour before closing time, when all the exterior doors would lock, trapping them in the building if they stayed inside. Ambrosius's phone had been left behind at the hospital, but Nimona had gotten her hands on an old media device that had a clock and timer on it. As they entered the building, Ambrosius set the timer for 45 minutes. That should give them plenty of time to get in, get stuff, and get out before closing.
Ambrosius took an elevator down into the basement, then limped to an electrical box built into a wall. The hand scanner was inside. There was a dim flash of light as he pressed his palm against the sensor. There was the buzz of electricity, and then… nothing. Ambrosius felt a burst of anxiety ripple through his chest. Did it not recognize him? Would he have to leave absolutely everything behind, even mementos of his family?
Just then, a tiny green light on the panel lit up as a section of the wall sank in, sliding to the side to reveal the passage into the vault. Ambrosius let out the breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. Old tech was just slower than new stuff.
Nimona’s muffled voice came from the duffel bag.
“Safe?”
“Moment.” Ambrosius mumbled. He stepped into the passage, pushing a button inside that closed the wall behind him. “Okay.”
Nimona sprang out of the bag, landing on her feet in front of him.
“Hoo! Freedom!” She darted down the passage, flicking on light switches as she went, Ambrosius limping along after her until they wound up in the vault.
Nimona looked around.
“Huh. Somehow I was expecting something…”
“Fancier?”
“Yeah. Knowing your dad.”
Ambrosius limped to a row of shelves. “I don’t think he came here often.”
“Figures.”
The vault wasn’t much to look at. It was small, and lined with metal shelves stuffed with cardboard boxes and trinkets. Nimona’s attention landed on one of several suits of armor on display in a corner.
“No way! I remember this!” She pranced to the display, lifting the arm of a set of armor. “This was your grandmom’s! She wore it to a fancy dinner once that was supposed to be formalwear only. Ticked off the then-director so much.”
Ambrosius gave a half smile. He hadn’t heard that story, but it sounded like something his grandmom would have done. He limped to one of the shelves, pulling out a box that looked newer than the others.
The faint scent of perfume crept out of the box as he pulled the lid off. It was his mom’s things; stuff he’d remembered her treasuring. Memories flooded Ambrosius’s mind, late nights when they’d had tea in the kitchen, library trips where he’d insisted Bal come with them, evenings watching movies together…
He picked up a small device resting among the other mementos. He clicked a button on the side and a small hologram display flickered to life above it.
“Hey mom.” Ambrosius’s voice from ten years ago crackled from the device.
Nimona stopped playing with the armor and came to watch. The display showed a woman in a hospital bed, tubes in her arms. She cracked her eyes open slightly as young Ambrosius’s voice came again.
“They said you weren’t doing too well.”
His mom’s eyes moved to look up at him, sad and tired. She was trying to say something, but only managed a few incoherent words. Young Ambrosius reached out and picked up her limp hand.
“It’s okay. I’m not going anywhere. They said I can stay as long as I want.”
His mom seemed to relax and her eyes closed. Young Ambrosius fumbled with the camera.
“I love you mom…”
The hologram stopped, frozen in time. Leaning against the shelf, Ambrosius dried his eyes on his sleeve and played back the video again.
Nimona watched.
“What did happen to her?” she asked, “As far as I heard, she just up and got sick and died.”
“That's… essentially what happened.” Ambrosius said quietly. “She caught a rare virus. No one knew how. The Institute didn't want to create a panic, so they kept it quiet.” Ambrosius watched the video clip to the end, stopping on the image of his mom falling asleep.
Nimona watched.
“What happened to her hair?” she asked, referencing the fact that his mom's long hair was missing, replaced by a knit cap.
“The medicine did that. They tried everything they had to save her… but it wasn't enough.”
“Hey well at least you match now.” Nimona said, rubbing a hand on Ambrosius's bare scalp.
Ambrosius cracked a faint smile and turned off the device.
“Maybe. But she wore it better.”

For the febuwhump prompts, how about Mask and Captain Link with either hostage situation or "you weren't supposed to be there"?
Since the whole "hostage situation" got requested by someone else as well, I ended up going for the other option!
And hey, we're a month late, but I'm working two jobs so I think it should be fine LOL
Anyways, here, have some Captain Link freaking out about Mask's safety!
Rating: Teen
Word count: 1,610 (Mask cuts my word counts in half LOL)
Summary: Caught in a battle with the tides against them, Captain Link elects to use some slightly less than honorable methods to down their monster enemies. Mask isn't told about the plan though, but maybe he should have been...
-
War isn’t pretty. Sacrifices are something that often must be made, most commonly in the forms of life, of soldiers, but sometimes at a cost to the land, to cities, to integrity and honor. Winning isn’t easy, and it’s rare an enemy will play by the rules, so there’s rarely any point in doing so yourself either. That doesn’t make Link feel any better about his decision, but it’s the truth. He can’t play fair against demons if he wants to win.
“The bombs are placed sir.” A soldier announces, throwing a quick salute, one that he nods to acknowledge.
Behind him, the battle still rages, but Impa had demanded he fall back long enough to at least have his own wounds bound before charging back into the fray. In that time, he’s laid some quick plans, and while the idea of causing the very ground to collapse beneath the feet of the enemy camp isn’t something he’s proud of, he has high expectations that it will turn the tides in their favor.
That’s what matters, in the long run. Stopping the enemy, no matter how, and getting his own people out of here alive. Even so, he doesn’t like it. He’d hate to have such a tactic used on his people, and he knows the hylian army would call it dirty and lowdown of the enemy to do the same. Still, the odds are far from in their favor, and he’s got to level the playing field somehow. Leveling the actual field of battle by collapsing the ground beneath their camp, behind their defenses, is the best chance he’s got.
“Set to blast?”
“Five minutes, sir.”
He wishes he had a clock on him, or some sort of watch or other time keeping device, but he doesn’t, and he can’t. He’s got enough gear to mind, and the ever-present tick of a clock would only serve to drive him mad in the long run.
He waves off the thought and turns his attention back to the battle, although one part of his mind stays focused on the field medic binding his wounds. Potions are running low, and until they can stop long enough to acquire ore from Ravio, they need to save what they have for the more serious injuries, or those near death. Using a potion on himself when he’s only been stabbed a couple times is pointless. Still, he doesn’t trust medics as a rule, so letting them work without waiting for the inevitable “mistake” won’t stand.
He only breathes freely when the medic leaves, and he’s free to reach for the Master Sword again and return to battle. Even then though, his breathing isn’t as steady as he’s like, what with the bruised ribs and all.
“Countdown?” He asks his lieutenant.
“Two minutes.”
They have only a little longer to wait until the ground collapses, and his own people are too far ack to be affected, still tackling the front lines of the enemy, not the archers and far larger beasts that throw heavy clods of earth and explosives down amid them.
Two minutes. Then the assault will stop, and his people can sweep in and finish this mission. Two minutes and the monsters they’re fighting won’t have backup or cover fire to aid them, and the hylian forces can overtake at long last.
He scans the field briefly. He’s not heading back in, not yet. The men don’t know the cliffs will be going down, and they’ll need direction when they do. They’ll need instruction, and he’ll be the one to provide it when that happens, coming back down amid them to offer guidance and direction. First though, he needs to ensure that all goes as intended, and be prepared on the chance that it doesn’t for one reason or another.
“One minute sir.” His lieutenant pants. They’re both tired, they've been fighting for hours without rest and all of them are flagging.
“Hold in there, lieutenant,” he tries to assure. “We’ll have them.” A charming smile, one Impa had made sure was trained into him, weas ready to unleash, was something to settle and strengthen and give hope, a confident look and glitter of the eyes, seems to settle the man at his side.
“Aye, captain.” A weak attempt at a smile answers his own bright one. “We- sir!” Dark eyes widen in horror as they fix behind him on the enemy, and Link turns through force of habit to catch sight of the foe, the change of the tides, the danger that no doubt lies behind him. “Mask!”
It takes a second, but then he sees it. A little flicker of yellow against the sea of silver and red. A little kitsune mask bobbing at the hip of a child who’s charging, alone, blade charged with magic and felling monsters with ease born of experience, uphill. Uphill into the blast zone. Uphill towards the camp and leading some of their soldiers, although the men are harder pressed to follow his lead in slipping through the enemy lines, no matter how hard they try. Uphill into where only seconds remain before bombs take out the land and level the camp, leaving nothing but rubble behind.
His feet are moving before his mind has time to catch up to him, a shout on his lips and panic making his heart race.
“Sir!” His lieutenant’s voice raises, but the rest in lost in the sounds of a blast that has a rumble filling the air around them, screams of the enemy rising beside the sounds of tumbling earth, crumbling and cracking rock, and flames that last only as long as the explosion before being smothered with the falling rubble.
A gust of smoke and cloud of dirt arises, blowing back against them, blinding all, even the enemy, temporarily and giving his men time to strike out blindly at where their foes last were even while the beasts startle and pause with sight lost. “Press forwards! Hold the line!” He manages to shout, gathering his own wits enough to supply commands to his men, commands that echo back as officers repeat the orders to their men, a chorus that echos even as he moves with them.
There’s no trace of yellow up ahead, not in the rubble of what’s left, but he moves along anyways. He strikes the fallen foes that still sow signs of life, be it in flailing limbs or shrieking from piglike snouts. Blood paints the path he takes, but his gaze searches for bright and sunny yellow, something innocent and warm against the battlefield around them.
Cries, shouts, screams and the clashing of blades fills his ears, drowns out any shout he calls out into the rubble, but the tide of the battle is changing he can hear his men’s voices rising, hear the hope as they push their way past, felling their foe now that bombs and arrows don’t rain down from overhead upon them to make them fall back again and again. His mind isn’t on their victory though. There's a part of him, a part that knows he must remain focused, set, poised, ready, aware; something that tracks where they stand and how they fare, but another part searches.
The monsters fall in waves. The beasts within the rubble give their final cries as his blade ends their miserable lives. His men begin to shout their victory as the sounds of blades clashing dims, fades entirely, but their captain does not celebrate beside them.
He is searching. With the enemy felled he can drop his sword, drop to his knees to push aside rubble, dirt, stone, anything that’s left of the tumbled apart camp.
Proxi whizzes about; searching, calling. His voice rises beside hers. “Mask! Kid, come on!”
There’s no returning call.
“Please!”
Behind him, there’s murmuring. Shouts fade, feet fall. There’s a rush of booted steps and then hands are helping to lift away the rubble. Voices of every sort rise to call out, their cries all the same. “Mask! Where are you, kid?” Searching for a flicker of yellow, a head of yellow hair or a familiar smiling mask. Searching for a smirking face, a little troublemaker.
The fairies dart, the men sift, the cries of all sound over the field in the absence of a monster’s squeals. The joy of victory fades as they look for a single soul caught in the winning blow. Caught where he was never meant to be, at the worst of times for him to have slipped loose from amidst them.
It feels like forever, the moving of ruble, the sifting, the calling. Each second is torture, heart pounding fit to burst in his throat as he tears through the remains of the enemy camp. Not here, not there. Not amid the monsters but not far away. He’s frantic, pushing aside burdens that, in his right mind, he’d ever dare attempt to move alone. The singing of pain through his frame, through every muscle and bone, is ignored as he tears through, searching, searching, searching-
“Captain Link!”
Yellow, paint chipped and steaked with dirt and blood. Yellow matted and filthy strands, the face beneath just as stained. He doesn’t care though. He’s gathering up the tiny form in his arms and holding, clinging, fingers searching for a pulse even as his own reaches speeds he didn’t know possible.
The faint little beat beneath his fingertips is enough to have a sob escaping past the heart in his throat.
His kid is alive. He’s alive, he’s going to be okay. Link clings tightly, holding the boy close. He’s alive. Thank Hylia, he’s alive.

Love love love ihm and just want to understand why y/n is so panicked about ‘getting caught’. Is getting married for insurance illegal? Ik it’s a bit taboo to question a story lol, but just trying to follow along better! Totally fair if it’s a made up plot device ofc
I’m so excited to see how the story goes, you’re very talented ❤️
hi bb oh not at all i am more than happy to explain anything haha! plus you're so respectful ab it so dw
yes yes so first off i think ihm reader in general has a little bit of a paranoid personality haha. there's been a couple times in ihm where this is alluded to w the difference in her reactions to certain things vs the people around her (like in ch2 when her coworker asks her why she's so paranoid ab everything all the time like getting a medical lawsuit, and when gojo is like who tf is out there tryna sabotage our fake marriage, or sumn like that) but i think that's just kind of how she's grown to be with trust issues and living in constant fear
but yes at least where i live (usa) it is illegal to get married for purely just spousal benefits!! like for example to get an american citizenship or for insurance or tax benefits. in ihm's case, it would be marital fraud as well as insurance fraud. in the research i've done for the series, i know that marital fraud is tough to prove, but there are certain ways that an investigation can prove it, such as: inconsistent statements from both parties, no evidence of relationship prior to the marriage, suspicious timings (for example when someone's visa is expiring or in reader's case in ihm, her mother's illness has progressed), testimony and witness from others close to the alleged couple (that's why her messing up her story in front of her neighbors and also her neighbors not even knowing she had married gojo was a big red flag to choso) etc etc
as for the consequences of getting convicted, i think this part in ihm ch3 kinda lays it out:
"You know the U.S. federal codes in the law for marital & insurance fraud like the back of your hand, since you read through them hundreds of times before deciding if your little arrangement with Gojo would be worth it. 8 U.S.C. 1033 and 18 U.S.C. 371 provide for a penalty of up to ten years in prison for insurance fraud. And under that statute, you can also be fined up to $250,000. The best case scenario is that you just have to divorce Gojo, and forfeit your chances of ever recovering from your crippling debt."
and then obviously in addition to financial penalties, a criminal record can lead to more disadvantages later in life, like issues getting employed, disqualification from certain welfare systems, reader could also potentially lose her nursing license, her insurance claims could be denied and that would lead to abrupt loss of health care for her mother...soooo yea there's some more stuff i looked into too hahah but these are just some reasons to name a few as to why she is very paranoid about it
hope this helps to explain!! <3 much love

The World Without Phones: A Journey into Chaos and Communication Breakdown
Imagine waking up one day to find that phones, as we know them, have become nonexistent. The comforting buzz of notifications, the ability to connect with loved ones at a moment's notice, and the vast ocean of information at our fingertips have vanished. In this reality, the repercussions would be monumental, transforming every aspect of our daily lives and plunging society into chaos.
Communication Breakdown
The first and most immediate impact would be the breakdown of communication. In our hyper-connected world, phones have become the primary means of interaction. Without them, people would revert to more traditional forms of communication—face-to-face conversations, letters, and landlines. While these methods could still facilitate connections, they would also slow down the pace of life significantly. Urgent messages, quick check-ins, and instant updates would be replaced by long waits and uncertainty.
The lack of real-time communication could lead to misunderstandings and heightened tensions. In a world where timely responses are crucial—such as in emergencies, business dealings, or even social coordination—the absence of phones would create a chaotic environment. Friendships would strain under the pressure of miscommunication, family members would find it difficult to stay in touch, and the very fabric of relationships would fray.
Impact on Business and Economy
Businesses, too, would face dire consequences. The modern workforce thrives on speed and efficiency, much of which relies on mobile communication. Without phones, remote work would become nearly impossible, stifling productivity and collaboration. Entrepreneurs and small businesses would struggle to reach customers, leading to a significant economic downturn.
Logistics and supply chains, heavily dependent on instant communication, would collapse. Delays in shipments, breakdowns in coordination, and the inability to track inventory in real time would lead to shortages and chaos in markets. The global economy, already fragile, would face unprecedented challenges, with many businesses forced to close their doors permanently.
Emergency Response and Public Safety
Perhaps the most alarming consequence of a world without phones would be the impact on public safety and emergency response systems. In times of crisis—natural disasters, medical emergencies, or public threats—the ability to communicate quickly and effectively is paramount. Without phones, emergency services would struggle to respond swiftly to incidents, leading to lost lives and increased risk.
Communities would face vulnerability, as people would be unable to report emergencies or receive crucial alerts. The lack of coordination among law enforcement, firefighters, and medical services would create a perfect storm for chaos. Panic would ensue, and trust in public institutions could erode, fostering a sense of fear and helplessness.
Social Isolation and Mental Health Decline
As phones have become integral to our social lives, their absence would lead to widespread feelings of isolation and loneliness. People rely on their devices to connect with friends and family, share experiences, and find support. Without phones, many would struggle to maintain these connections, leading to increased mental health issues.
Isolation could exacerbate existing mental health conditions, leading to a surge in anxiety and depression. The younger generation, already facing challenges with social interactions, would find it particularly difficult to navigate friendships and relationships without the immediate connections provided by their phones.
Information Void and Misinformation
In today's world, information flows seamlessly through our devices. News updates, educational resources, and social media platforms keep us informed. Without phones, access to information would be significantly hindered. People would revert to traditional news sources such as newspapers and television, which may not provide the immediacy or comprehensive coverage that today’s digital platforms offer.
This information void could lead to increased susceptibility to misinformation. In the absence of real-time fact-checking and reliable sources, rumors could spread like wildfire, leading to panic and confusion. The challenge of discerning truth from falsehood would become a societal crisis, as people struggle to find reliable information amidst the chaos.
Cultural Shift and Adaptation
While the immediate consequences of a world without phones would be chaotic, it could also lead to a profound cultural shift. People might be forced to reconnect with their surroundings, engage in face-to-face conversations, and rediscover the beauty of human interaction. Communities could come together in ways that have been lost in the digital age, fostering a sense of belonging and shared experience.
However, this shift would not come without its challenges. Adapting to a slower pace of life would require significant adjustments. The relentless rush of modernity would give way to a more deliberate way of living, which might be welcomed by some but resisted by others who thrive in the fast-paced digital world.
Conclusion
The prospect of a world without phones is a daunting one, fraught with challenges that could lead to chaos and societal decline. Communication breakdowns, economic turmoil, public safety risks, social isolation, and the struggle for information would create a perfect storm of crises.
Yet, amidst the chaos, there lies the potential for transformation. Society could emerge with a renewed appreciation for face-to-face interactions, community bonds, and the power of human connection. The journey would be fraught with difficulties, but it could also lead to growth and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human in an increasingly connected world.
In the end, the absence of phones would force us to confront not only the chaos that ensues but also the core elements of our identity and our relationships with one another. It would be a test of resilience, adaptation, and the enduring power of human connection.

Hello! I think I remember that you had a really good post (or at least resources) on the difference between abortion and removal of stillborn/miscarried children but I can’t seem to find it. Would you be able to link it? Thanks! <3 :)
I am always terrible at finding my old posts unless people rediscover and reblog them again lol
Maybe someone else will be able to find it and link it, but in the meantime I can try to recreate some of it!
The most important thing here is the legal definition of abortion. Some medical language will use abortion to refer to any stopping of pregnancy - whether intentional or unintentional. This definition is absolutely useless for a discussion of the ethics of induced abortion, and is used by abortion supporters to cloud the issue.
That’s why literally every piece of abortion-restricting legislation is very careful to define what it is that is being restricted or banned - the intentional, direct killing of a preborn human child.
Since so many states have passed either outright bans or significant restrictions, it’s important to look at specific laws in specific states for examples.
For example, here is the legal definition of abortion in Texas (emphasis mine):
"Abortion" means the act of using or prescribing an instrument, a drug, a medicine, or any other substance, device, or means with the intent to cause the death of an unborn child of a woman known to be pregnant. The term does not include birth control devices or oral contraceptives. An act is not an abortion if the act is done with the intent to:
(A) save the life or preserve the health of an unborn child;
(B) remove a dead, unborn child whose death was caused by spontaneous abortion; or
(C) remove an ectopic pregnancy.
Note that the law specifically states that removing a child who has died and removing an ectopic pregnancy are not abortions, and therefore are not impacted by any abortion ban or restriction.
Also note (A) - delivering a child early to save the child’s life is not an abortion, even though the pregnancy could be said to be “aborted,” or stopped prematurely - the important point is whether the abortionist is trying to kill the child.
TL;DR: Any doctor who says they can’t remove an ectopic pregnancy (a child who cannot survive with current medical technology and poses a danger to the mother) or a child who has died in the womb because of an abortion ban is either ignorant or willfully deceiving their patients - and in either case should not be trusted to provide medical care.

ELON MUSK — CHRISTMAS GIVE AWAY 2024
Elon Musk’s Generosity: How the Tech Mogul is Spreading Holiday Cheer by Giving Cars, Gadgets, and Financial Relief to Families in Need
When you think of Elon Musk, images of rockets, electric cars, and groundbreaking technological advancements likely come to mind. But beyond his achievements as the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and other ventures, Musk has often shown his willingness to give back to the community—especially during the holidays. This Christmas season, Musk has once again proven his generosity by giving financial aid, cars, phones, designer bags, and other gifts to families in need across the United States.
A Season of Giving
The holiday season can be a difficult time for many families, particularly those facing financial hardships. Musk has consistently stepped in to bridge the gap by ensuring that families struggling to make ends meet have a reason to celebrate this Christmas. His philanthropic efforts have targeted families in poverty, communities recovering from natural disasters, and low-income households with pressing needs.
Musk’s approach is unique because it doesn’t simply focus on charitable donations but also on practical, life-changing gifts that provide security, joy, and hope. Whether through direct financial support or gifts like electric cars, technology, and essentials, his initiatives have brought smiles to countless households.
Surprise Car Gifts for Struggling Families
One of the most notable ways Musk has spread cheer this holiday season is through gifting Tesla electric vehicles to deserving families. These aren’t just flashy cars; they are life-changing opportunities, offering families reliable and safe transportation that can dramatically alter their quality of life.
Imagine a single mother with three children struggling to get to work or manage daily errands. Through Musk’s generosity, these families receive brand-new Tesla cars—free of charge—eliminating the stress of transportation challenges. While the gifts themselves are flashy, the impact is profound, offering independence, reliability, and dignity.
High-Tech Gifts for Every Age
Musk has shown that giving isn’t just about cars or financial aid—technology plays an important role in his charitable giving. In a world driven by connectivity and innovation, items like smartphones, gadgets, and computers have become essential tools for education, communication, and work. Musk has been generous in distributing high-tech devices to families who might not have access to them otherwise.
Gifts such as the latest smartphones, laptops, and other electronic devices are given to children and parents alike, ensuring that technology isn't a barrier for educational opportunities. These gifts bring not just comfort but also opportunity, allowing families to access online learning resources, connect with their communities, and stay informed.
Luxury Essentials for Comfort and Joy
Beyond cars and technology, Musk has also focused on ensuring families receive the essentials they might not be able to afford. Designer bags, clothing, and other luxury items are given to families in need to make their holidays feel special. While these may seem extravagant on the surface, they bring joy, pride, and a sense of normalcy to families who have struggled to make ends meet throughout the year.
These thoughtful gestures are part of Musk’s broader belief in spreading happiness and making the holiday season as magical as possible for those who could use a bit of extra help.
Financial Relief in Times of Need
Not every donation comes in the form of a physical gift. Musk has contributed millions in direct financial assistance to struggling families and communities this Christmas. Financial aid helps pay for medical bills, housing, groceries, and other daily necessities, ensuring families have the stability they need to focus on the important moments of the holiday season rather than financial stress.
These cash gifts are often distributed quietly, without fanfare, but their impact is deeply felt. Musk’s ability to reach families directly allows the money to go toward real, immediate needs.
Why Musk’s Approach Matters
While many billionaires donate money through traditional charitable organizations, Musk takes a hands-on, personalized approach to his giving. His gifts—whether cars, smartphones, or financial aid—aren’t just symbolic. They are transformative and tailored to the needs of each recipient. This direct approach highlights Musk’s belief in focusing on individual needs and making a personal impact on a human level.
It’s not just about giving presents; it’s about providing hope, joy, and new opportunities.
A New Kind of Holiday Spirit
Elon Musk’s generosity represents a shift in how the ultra-wealthy approach philanthropy during the holidays. His hands-on, innovative style of giving inspires others to think creatively about how they can give back to their communities. By combining technology, financial support, and practical gifts, Musk ensures that families have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.
Christmas isn’t just a time for celebration; it’s a time to give. And through his actions this year, Musk has shown the world how innovation and kindness can come together to make the holidays a magical time for everyone.
Conclusion
Elon Musk's efforts this Christmas—whether by giving cars, technology, designer bags, or financial relief—highlight the kind of generosity that can change lives. As families open their gifts this year, many will find that Musk’s support has brought not just material gifts, but new opportunities and hope.
It’s more than just philanthropy. It’s a testament to what can happen when the spirit of giving meets innovation, compassion, and a determination to make a difference. With each car, gadget, and financial aid package gifted, Musk has proven that the holidays are about more than just celebration—they’re about community, kindness, and change.
